Representative Mike Pence,R-IN. ROCKS ~ God Bless Him!
The Democratics have been talking about "doing something" to silence broadcastors like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, and the Internet Christian Conservatives in the form of FCC regulation using the FAIRNESS DOCTRINE. It is a censorship of free speech, and a violation of our First Amendment Rights.
Rep Mike Pence is putting forth this legislation to continue to protect us for another year from use of the Fairness Dontrine, and has agreement of 300 in congress; but only 190 have signed petition.
Pres Bush has agreed to sign. We must motivate those others promised to protect our right as conservatives to speak out for our faith, our conservative views and protection of internet podcasters and blogs.

Representative Mike Pence,R-IN., revealed no Democrat has signed the discharge petition for the Broadcaster's Freedom Act. Speaker Pelosi recently admitted to Human Events her support for the 'Fairness' Doctrine.
Rep.Mike Pence Addresses Fairness Doctrine On House Floor...see VIDEO link below.
PLEASE CLICK HERE TO SEE THE VIDEO of Rep. Mike Pence.
Congress is just 23 signatures away from a vote that could finally end the archaic Fairness Doctrine and create a permanent free-market system for talk radio.
Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind.) continues to urge congress members to sign the Broadcaster Freedom Act discharge petition. The petition will “prevent the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) from repromulgating the fairness doctrine,” originally initiated in the 1930s under Franklin Roosevelt.
During its glory days, the Fairness Doctrine was never applied to ensure conservatives’ air time. In fact, conservative voices were shunned while liberal bias seemed to mysteriously remain under the radar of the FCC. The Fairness Doctrine’s attempt at “fairness” created the most imbalanced media atmosphere possible.
Rep. Pence’s bill could kick the Fairness Doctrine to the curb permanently, much to the disdain of Democrats like Sen. John Kerry, Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin, and Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
“I think the Fairness Doctrine ought to be there and I also think equal time doctrine ought to come back. I mean these are the people who wiped out one of the most profound changes in the balance of the media is when the conservatives got rid of the equal time requirements,” said Sen. Kerry. “And the result is that, you know, they’ve been able to squeeze down and squeeze out opinion of opposing views and I think it’s been an important transition in the imbalance of our public.
First, [Democrats] failed on the radio airwaves with Air America, no one wanted to listen,” says a senior adviser to Pelosi. “Conservative radio is a huge threat and political advantage for Republicans and we have had to find a way to limit it.”
The 195 Congress members who have already signed the discharge petition refuse to let this happen. The bill needs 218 signatures for the legislation to get a vote. To date, not one Democrat has broken with Pelosi to support the bill. Nine Republican representatives have also failed to sign the discharge petition.
“If the Broadcaster Freedom Act is brought to the floor of the House of Representatives, I have every confidence that it will pass because, when freedom gets an up-or-down vote in the People’s House, freedom always wins,” said Rep. Pence.
And this.........
Pelosi Supports 'Fairness Doctrine'
by John Gizzi
The speaker of the House that a bill by Rep. Mike Pence (R.-Ind.) to outlaw the “Fairness Doctrine” (which a liberal administration could use to silence Rush Limbaugh, other radio talk show hosts and much of the new alternative media) would not see the light of day in Congress during ’08. In ruling out a vote on Pence’s proposed Broadcaster's Freedom Act, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D.-CA.) also signaled her strong support for revival of the “Fairness Doctrine” -- which would require radio station owners to provide equal time to radio commentary when it is requested.
Experts say that the “Fairness Doctrine,” which was ended under the Reagan Administration, would put a major burden on small radio stations in providing equal time to Rush Limbaugh and other conservative broadcasters, who are a potent political force. Rather than engage in the costly practice of providing that time, the experts conclude, many stations would simply not carry Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and other talk show hosts who are likely to generate demands for equal time.
Pelosi to Senate: Filibuster FISA
Although Speaker Pelosi would not specifically call for Sen. Barack Obama to lead a filibuster against Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act legislation in the Senate, she did send a strong signal that she was positive about the talk of filibuster against the surveillance measure by Democratic Sens. Christopher Dodd (CT.) and Russ Feingold (Wisc.)
Recalling that there were many issues before the Senate that she felt deserved but did not get a filibuster -- on the war in Iraq and expansion of the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) that the Administration vetoed, for example -- Pelosi voiced her opinion that “a filibuster focuses on a very important issue” and that the importance of FISA “justifies that.”
The Speaker pointed out that “if the Senate has the ability to filibuster, and “I think there is a great appetite in the public for such a debate on [FISA] to take place. And I think it would be healthy and wholesome.”
.

Wild Thing's comment........
I hope and pray he gets all the signatures he needs for his bill. This is soooo important.
Regarding future plans for Mike Pence, I would love for this man to run for President! I know it is too late this time but WOW if he would run let's sday Mike Pence and Palin. Add Bolton in the mix too. giggle I love how we DO have conservatives out there. It is just sickening that we have none for this election. deep sigh

So Tell Us, Sen. Obama, 'Who Else Sent You?' by Russ Vaughn

So Tell Us, Sen. Obama, 'Who Else Sent You?'
Russ Vaughn
It was, of course, inevitable. How could any politician rise so quickly on the legendarily corrupt Chicago political scene and be as pure as Obama's devoted followers were purporting him to be? The question in the minds of skeptics was, "Who sent you?"
Well now we're beginning to find out and it ain't pretty. In a lengthy, and amazingly frank, Boston Globe article depicting the dismal results of Chicago's attempt to develop and manage low income housing through private developers, we see that the candidate of change is nothing more than another Chicago machine-generated pol with his feet firmly mired in the muck of corruption of the city he chose to make his political base.
From the Globe article we learn that Tony Rezko, FOB, (Friend of Barack's) whom we have known up to now only as a corrupt developer, was and is, in fact, a slum lord, although on a much grander scale than what we usually associate with that term. Using government subsidies which Obama helped them obtain, Rezko and other FOB's, some now actively associated with his campaign, developed low income housing with fancy sounding names and substandard construction within Obama's state senatorial district.
The article points out that it was Obama's law firm and Obama himself that represented these slum lords when angry tenants complained about overflowing sewage, inoperable heating units and rat infestations. And guess what? Just as we're expected to believe that Obama sat in his church for twenty years and never heard any of Reverend Jeremiah Wright's racist diatribes, now we're told Obama was unaware of the slum-like conditions his constituents were living in, conditions directly attributable to the thievery from public coffers of his political cronies like Rezko.
But getting to a partial answer of that old Chicago test of cronyism, "Who sent you?" will require you to read to page seven of the Boston Globe article where you find this:
"All the while, Tony Rezko was forging a close relationship with Barack Obama. When Obama opened his campaign for state Senate in 1995, Rezko's companies gave Obama $2,000 on the first day of fund raising. Save for a $500 contribution from another lawyer, Obama didn't raise another penny for six weeks. Rezko had essentially seeded the start of Obama's political career." [emphasis added]
Thirteen years later, the now out-of-business slum lord, Tony Rezko, is a convicted felon and on his way to federal prison, while his political protégé is trying to become the head of the federal government. Do you suppose foreign-born Tony understands irony? Do you think he's scrabbling to find Eric Holder's phone number? Although, considering Obama's demonstrated willingness to abandon anyone who comes between him and the White House, Ol' Tony probably shouldn't hold his breath waiting for a return call. After all, the tens of thousands he has given Obama in the past are now chump change for a candidate who can forego public campaign funding without a backward glance at either his promises or his former mentors.
The true irony in all this is not that this champion of change is tainted; it's by what he's tainted. You'd at least think if this Pied Piper of America's youth is going to be just another corrupt politician that it would be something hip like being in the pocket of some billionaire software developer or hip-hop promoter.
But slum lords? The Messiah of Change?
So what at first seemed nothing more than tainted whiffs of unwise political and religious associations by Obama are growing into a stench of ordinary political corruption that may very well be more than many moderate voters, even Democrats, can stomach. For sure there are increasing numbers of blowflies buzzing in and about the diminishing glow of that once-bright halo. Of course, for the Kool Aid drinkers, it will simply morph into a crown of thorns.
So tell us, Sen. Obama, "Who else sent you?"

Irena Sendler vs. Al Gore

She saved 2,500 children from the Warsaw Ghetto in WWII. (Large photo shows Ireana in 2005 at age 95)
Al Gore - Propagandist and environmental alarmist.
Irena Sendler - During World War II helped save 2,500 Jewish children from the Warsaw Ghetto by providing them with false documents and sheltering them in individual and group children's homes outside the Ghetto:
The Nobel Peace Prize - awarded "to the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses."
Irena Sendler was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007, but lost to Al Gore's propaganda film.
Atrocious.

Wild Thing's comment........
If Algore had an ounce of shame he would decline the prize and have it posthumously reassigned to Irena.
The scary thing about Algore is that he has invented a scam much larger than Y2K and it is going to cost the world trillions of dollars. And gullible people believe him. And he is laughing his way to the bank.
What an honor it would be to have met such a woman and be able to thank her for all she did and for the person she was.
....Thank you Tom for sending this to me.

Murderer Dictator Robert Mugabe Sworn In The Unleashes Death Squads

Dictator: Robert Mugabe on his way to be sworn in, accompanied by guards
Mugabe hails his hollow victory with an oath on the Bible ... then unleashes his death squads
With pomp, ceremony and a massive dose of defiance, His Excellency Commander Robert Gabriel Mugabe was yesterday sworn in as Zimbabwe's president.
Inside the oak-panelled rooms of State House, as fighter jets roared overhead, he declared himself winner of an election in which he was the only candidate.
Even before he took the oath, he had set in motion bloody recriminations against those who worked against him.
Secret documents outlining the strategy against the opposition Movement for Democratic Change have been seen by the Mail.
They reveal that, in the runup to the polls, Mugabe had plotted to 'eliminate MDC agents' and ensure that the identity numbers of all voters were taken - so they could be found later if they voted for the opposition.
The documents are from Mugabe's Joint Operational Command, a group of military leaders tasked with ensuring he remained in power.
They state that forces are to 'kill MDC MPs' and that 'postal ballot boxes were to be stuffed in remote areas by death squads (who) have been instructed to abduct and kill whoever gets in his way'.
Mugabe has now issued a chilling warning that more violence is to come.
His election posters have been removed and replaced with signs stating: 'This is the final battle for total control.'
The dictator, 84, had just as carefully choreographed yesterday's ceremony.
Mugabe sang the national anthem as his troops fired a volley of shots in a tent erected on the lawn.
Amid unprecedented security for the inauguration, with soldiers patrolling the streets and helicopters hovering overhead, he then took the oath for his sixth term in office.
As he spoke, Chinese-built MIG fighter jets screamed overhead.
In an extraordinary act of brazen cheek, Mugabe invited Mr Tsvangirai, the leader of the MDC, to the swearing-in ceremony.
Mr Tsvangirai pulled out of the elections a week earlier fearing a bloodbath, and has been given refuge in the Dutch embassy in Harare ever since.
He turned down the yesterday's invitation.
After the ceremony, Mugabe's official Mercedes swept out of State House, flanked by armoured vehicles with sirens blaring.
The toll of his victory was laid bare at one Zimbabwe hospital yesterday, in wards choked with victims of appalling brutality by the secret police.
Most had shattered limbs after being beaten with iron bars. Burning plastic had been dripped on others.
Some had iron hooks pushed through their faces and arms.
And gangrene is widespread: many victims took days to reach the hospital after being warned they would be killed if they showed anyone their wounds.
Their president was last night heading off for a meeting of African leaders in Egypt.

Wild Thing's comment.........
Jimmy Carter must be soooo happy!!
I don't understand 'why' this man is still alive. He has stolen, violated, abused, murdered, tortured an entire country. He signaled long ago; that as a violater and threat to humanity that he challenges and invites a 'moral Justice' of the most determined kind.
Maybe it is because they are already on the UN Human Rights Commission, but unleashing the death squads could very well put them in position to head the commission. The UN likes nothing better than third-world dictatorships, the more brutal the better.

Bill Clinton Says Barack Obama Must 'kiss my ass' For His Support

Bill Clinton says Barack Obama must 'kiss my ass' for his support
Bill Clinton is so bitter about Barack Obama's victory over his wife Hillary that he has told friends the Democratic nominee will have to beg for his wholehearted support.
Mr Obama is expected to speak to Mr Clinton for the first time since he won the nomination in the next few days, but campaign insiders say that the former president's future campaign role is a "sticking point" in peace talks with Mrs Clinton's aides.
The Telegraph has learned that the former president's rage is still so great that even loyal allies are shocked by his patronising attitude to Mr Obama, and believe that he risks damaging his own reputation by his intransigence.
A senior Democrat who worked for Mr Clinton has revealed that he recently told friends Mr Obama could "kiss my ass" in return for his support.
A second source said that the former president has kept his distance because he still does not believe Mr Obama can win the election.
Mr Clinton last week issued a tepid statement, through a spokesman, in which he said he "is obviously committed to doing whatever he can and is asked to do to ensure Senator Obama is the next president of the United States ".
Mr Obama was more effusive at his unity event with Mrs Clinton on Friday, speaking fondly of the absent former president, who attended Nelson Mandela's birthday celebrations in London instead.
The candidate told the crowd: "I know how much we need both Bill and Hillary Clinton as a party. They have done so much great work. We need them badly."
But his aides said he has so far concentrated on cementing relations with Mrs Clinton first. They say they are content to let relations with Mr Clinton thaw gradually.
It has long been known that Mr Clinton is angry at the way his own reputation was tarnished during the primary battle when several of his comments were interpreted as racist.
But his lingering fury has shocked his friends. The Democrat told the Telegraph: "He's been angry for a while. But everyone thought he would get over it. He hasn't. I've spoken to a couple of people who he's been in contact with and he is mad as hell.
"He's saying he's not going to reach out, that Obama has to come to him. One person told me that Bill said Obama would have to quote kiss my ass close quote, if he wants his support.
"You can't talk like that about Obama - he's the nominee of your party, not some house boy you can order around.
"Hillary's just getting on with it and so should Bill."
Another Democrat said that despite polls showing Mr Obama with a healthy lead over Republican John McCain, Mr Clinton doesn't think he can win.
The party strategist, who was allied to one of the early rivals to Mr Obama and the former First Lady, said Mr Clinton was "very unhopeful" about the nominee's prospects in November.
"Bill Clinton knows the party will unite behind Obama, but he is telling people he doesn't believe Obama can win round voting groups, especially working-class whites, in the swing states," the strategist said.
"He just doesn't think Obama will be able to connect with the voters he needs."
Joe Klein, the author of Primary Colours, a fictionalised account of Mr Clinton's 1992 election, who has known the former president for 20 years, said he also heard that he was "very, very bitter", from people who have spoken with him.
"It's time for him to get over it or go off and do his charitable work. He knows the rules of the road. What's going on now is kind of strange. I think his behaviour is really, really shocking."

Wild Thing's comment........
This is most excellent!....KEEP flaming the fire bubba! THE CHAOS CONTINUES!!!
At least it keeps the election fun when it is so horrible otherwise. hahahaha
Obama is just as bad when he said this......LOL
Senator Barack Obama has angered senior allies of his vanquished Democratic rival Senator Hillary Clinton by telling them to "get over it".

Obama Supporters Take His Middle Name as Their Own

Obama volunteers from Columbus, Ohio, who have adopted the middle name Hussein include J. T. Marcum, left, Aaron Barclay, Alex Enderle, Norm Shoemaker and Chelsey McCune. They use the name on the Internet and in greeting one another.
Obama Supporters Take His Middle Name as Their Own
Emily Nordling has never met a Muslim, at least not to her knowledge. But this spring, Ms. Nordling, a 19-year-old student from Fort Thomas, Ky., gave herself a new middle name on Facebook.com, mimicking her boyfriend and shocking her father.
Emily Hussein Nordling,” her entry now reads.
With her decision, she joined a growing band of supporters of Senator Barack Obama, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, who are expressing solidarity with him by informally adopting his middle name.
The result is a group of unlikely-sounding Husseins: Jewish and Catholic, Hispanic and Asian and Italian-American, from Jaime Hussein Alvarez of Washington, D.C., to Kelly Hussein Crowley of Norman, Okla., to Sarah Beth Hussein Frumkin of Chicago.
Jeff Strabone of Brooklyn now signs credit card receipts with his newly assumed middle name, while Dan O’Maley of Washington, D.C., jiggered his e-mail account so his name would appear as “D. Hussein O’Maley.” Alex Enderle made the switch online along with several other Obama volunteers from Columbus, Ohio, and now friends greet him that way in person, too.
Mr. Obama is a Christian, not a Muslim. Hussein is a family name inherited from a Kenyan father he barely knew, who was born a Muslim and died an atheist. But the name has become a political liability. Some critics on cable television talk shows dwell on it, while others, on blogs or in e-mail messages, use it to falsely assert that Mr. Obama is a Muslim or, more fantastically, a terrorist.
“I am sick of Republicans pronouncing Barack Obama’s name like it was some sort of cuss word,” Mr. Strabone wrote in a manifesto titled “We Are All Hussein” that he posted on his own blog and on dailykos.com.
So like the residents of Billings, Mont., who reacted to a series of anti-Semitic incidents in 1993 with a townwide display of menorahs in their front windows, these supporters are brandishing the name themselves.
“My name is such a vanilla, white-girl American name,” said Ashley Holmes of Indianapolis, who changed her name online “to show how little meaning ‘Hussein’ really has.”
The movement is hardly a mass one, and it has taken place mostly online, the digital equivalent of wearing a button with a clever, attention-getting message. A search revealed hundreds of participants across the country, along with a YouTube video and bumper stickers promoting the idea. Legally changing names is too much hassle, participants say, so they use “Hussein” on Facebook and in blog posts and comments on sites like nytimes.com, dailykos.com and mybarackobama.com, the campaign’s networking site.
“It’s one of those things that just takes off, because everybody got it right away,” said Stephanie Miller, a left-leaning comedian who blurted out the idea one day during a broadcast of her syndicated radio talk show and repeated it on CNN.
Ms. Miller and her fellow new Husseins are embracing the traditionally Muslim name even as the Obama campaign shies away from Muslim associations. Campaign workers ushered two women in head scarves out of a camera’s range at a rally this month in Detroit. (The campaign has apologized.) Aides canceled a December appearance on behalf of Mr. Obama by Representative Keith Ellison, a Minnesota Democrat and the first Muslim congressman.
Mr. Obama may be more enthusiastic, judging from his response at a Chicago fund-raiser two weeks ago. When he saw that Richard Fizdale, a longtime contributor, wore “Hussein” on his name tag, Mr. Obama broke into a huge grin, Mr. Fizdale said.
“The theory was, we’re all Hussein,” Mr. Obama said to the crowd later, explaining Mr. Fizdale’s gesture.
Some Obama supporters say they were moved to action because of what their own friends, neighbors and relatives were saying about their candidate. Mark Elrod, a political science professor at Harding University in Searcy, Ark., is organizing students and friends to declare their Husseinhood on Facebook on Aug. 4, Mr. Obama’s birthday.
Ms. Nordling changed her name after volunteering for Mr. Obama before the Kentucky primary.
“People would not listen to what you were saying on the phone or on their doorstep because they thought he was Muslim,” she said.
Ms. Nordling’s uncle liked the idea so much that he joined the same Facebook group that she had. But when her father saw her new online moniker, he was incredulous.
“He actually thought I was going to convert to Islam,” Ms. Nordling said.

Wild Thing's comment........
Absolute, mindless, idiots! Hussein Youth and even adults....anybody seen Dr. Mengele?
This may be the most pathetic, feckless, and fatuous development! The name readily identifies them as traitors and unimaginative, backward-thinking stooges, just like their namesake.
What is scary about this is this is step one, what is next, will they join Islam?????
This reminds me of the stupid white kids who rap and try to act black. And their parents let them which shows where they get their stupid from.
Just thinking about that it was also done in a movie.......remember this? hahha
This is funny I never realized there was this line in the movie.....
" " I don't think we'll make it past the cops"
" We'll make it past the cops, I just hope we don't see no Muslims"
( the double negative is the line in the film not mine haha)

Dr. Al-Arian Suspends Hunger Strike After 8 Weeks
VIRGINIA — Yesterday, on the 57th day of his hunger strike, Dr. Sami Al-Arian suspended his fast, at the urging of his family, friends and supporters. Dr. Al-Arian, who has lost more than 40 pounds, began the hunger strike on March 3 to protest continued harassment and abuse of power by the Justice Department. Early last week, as his blood pressure and blood sugar reached dangerously low levels, Dr. Al-Arian collapsed and lost consciousness at his cell in Hampton Roads Regional Jail and was then examined by a doctor.Dr. Al Arian drank no water for the first 18 days of his fast. During his hunger strike, he was moved to five different facilities a half dozen times.
Dr. Al-Arian was supposed to have been released on April 7. Since April 14, he has been in total segregation, and living under harsh conditions. He is not allowed any visitors and is given only two phone calls a month. Though officials at Hampton Roads Regional Jail told Dr. Al-Arian his conditions would improve and he would be moved into the general population as soon as he began eating again, this has proven to be a lie. Dr. Al-Arian remains in segregation although he has been cleared medically. Please see the Action Alert below to demand that he
be treated humanely.“Today Dr. Sami Al-Arian is an internationally recognized political prisoner in America Over the last two decades, his legendry struggle for the independence of Palestine has included five years of incarceration, which continues, and two extended hunger strikes for sixty days and fifty-seven days, respectively,” said Dr. Agha Saeed, chair of the American Muslim Taskforce on Civil Rights and Elections.
“Just as Dr. Martin Luther King and Malcolm X symbolized the struggle for human rights in the fifties and sixties, Dr. Sami Al Arian has come to symbolize the current struggle for human rights. I am one of those who had beseeched him to end his hunger strike and I am personally indebted to him for accepting our request.”
“Sami Al-Arian has put his own life on the line for human dignity, freedom, justice and peace,” said Muhammad Salim Akhtar, chairman of American Muslim Alliance Midwest Region. “His resilience at the cost of his own physical and mental suffering has become a source of strength for people of conscience and high morals to unite across borders.”
.

Wild Thing's comment..........
Note the date of their blog being put at Obama's Campaign website....April 30th. If they did not agree with what this blog entry is about regarding Sami Al-Arian they could always have taken it down.
Can you imagine a Presidential candidate after the attack at Pearl Harbor having connections like this to the enemy of our country? Obama sure does and one is too many and he has had MANY of them.

B.Hussein Obama And The Second Amendment
RNC Ad: Obama And The 2nd Amendment
The right to bear arms is one of the fundamental ideals on which our nation was founded.
Hardworking, law-abiding Americans have for generations enjoyed this freedom in their communities and with their families.
But Barack Obama believes that many Americans simply 'cling' to guns in times of economic distress. Speaking behind closed doors to an audience of San Francisco donors Barack Obama said "they cling to guns or religion .... as a way to explain their frustrations"
Obama's anti-gun record is long.
In 2004, he voted against legislation drafted to protect homeowners from prosecution in cases where they used a firearm to halt a home invasion.
In 2003, he voted in support of legislation that would have effectively banned most of the privately held hunting shotguns, target rifles, and black powder rifles in Illinois.
And in 1996, Obama supported a ban on the manufacture, sale and possession of handguns.
But now Obama's running for President and claims no knowledge of this, even though his handwriting is all over it.
Barack Obama: Out of touch with American values. Not ready to lead.

Liberal Touchie Feelie Terrorist's Treatment INSANE!

There are TWO different stories about TWO different prisoners. SHOCKING to say the least!
Suspected Al-Qa'eda Terrorist Leader To Be Freed On Bail
June 27, 2008
A man alleged to be one of al-Qa'eda's most important operatives in Europe is due to be freed from a British prison next week, it was reported.
After secret negotiations, the prisoner, identified only as U, is expected to be freed on bail from the high-security wing at Long Lartin jail in Worcestershire.
U, a 45-year-old Algerian, is alleged to be a terrorist leader who recruited, trained and facilitated operations.
Among his group, alleged to have been formed with the personal approval of Osama Bin Laden, were men convicted in the US of a plot to blow up Los Angeles International Airport in December 1999 and, in Germany, of a plot to bomb the Strasbourg Christmas market.
Appeal Court judges ruled in April that U should be freed on bail but discussions between security agencies and U's lawyers became deadlocked over the conditions restricting his movements and whom he can meet upon his release.
It is thought the authorities wanted more stringent bail terms that those imposed on the radical cleric Abu Qatada, who has been subject to a 22-hour curfew since his release last week. These terms would see U effectively placed under house arrest.
He would also be required to wear an electronic tag, monitored round the clock, and banned from using the internet or a mobile phone.
Once agreement on the bail terms is reached, a judge will be able to release the man with no further court hearing.
The Home Office refused to comment on the situation, beyond saying it was "seeking the strictest bail conditions possible."
THEY DO NOT LEARN FROM THEIR MISTAKES!
Look at this as well..................
Bailed Terror Suspect Goes On The Run After Leaving Suicide Note
June 27, 2008
A terrorist suspect on bail for charges linked to an alleged major suicide plot involving mass casualties has gone on the run, Scotland Yard has disclosed.
The 23-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is understood to have fled during Friday prayers and left a suicide note at his home.
Under strict bail conditions, he was due to report to police at 7am on Friday. It was reported on Friday night that he escaped while at prayers in a mosque near his home, which he was allowed to attend as part of the conditions. His family are said to have contacted police after they found the note.
Scotland Yard has launched a massive manhunt, amid fears for the man's welfare. Detectives are playing down the suggestion the note implied he was on a suicide mission to target others.
The suspect was due to stand trial later this year charged with conspiracy to commit murder and conspiracy to commit explosions, amongst other alleged offences.
He was given strict bail conditions, which amount to being under house arrest, and would have had his passport confiscated. The exact details of the conditions are unknown because the application was made in secret at court.
Police sources said they are "furious" that another terror suspect has gone on the run after being granted bail.

Wild Thing's comment........
This is insanity. How are we supposed to crush our terrorist enemies when we are letting terrorists out of prison. Between this and the Supreme Court decision about GITMO prisoners, God help us!
And WTF? the “massive manhunt” is based on “concerns for his welfare”. Nothing like having your priorities in order. sheesh amazing!
OK plan B then, do not capture terrorists just kill them in the battlefield or wherever they are first spotted.

Listen to the Democrats mislead, distort, and otherwise lie about the Iraq War. The party of appeasement and defeat eschews democracy in favor of hypocrisy.

Wild Thing's comment.........
The left, Democrats and the media are the scum of the earth. The things they have said and done should fall under treason to our country. Their aid to the enemy simply by the comments they have made has put our troops lives in additional danger then they already are and I pray there is some kind of karma that will get back at these people doing these things.
Yes one way is to vote them out of office, but that takes time. I wish for something faster then that. Damn the left!!!!

The Real Command Influence By Russ Vaughn

The Real Command Influence
Russ Vaughn
In dismissing the very dubious war crimes charges against Marine LTC Jeffrey Chessani, his trial judge, COL Steven Folsom, said this:
"Unlawful command influence is the mortal enemy of military justice,"
COL Folsom was referring to influence within the Marine Corps command structure, specifically involving two officers of general rank. We should all applaud the colonel's decision as it would make no sense whatsoever for the Marines to try an officer for failing to investigate crimes that to this point several military courts have failed to establish ever occurred. With one exception, all of the Haditha Marines now have been exonerated. The exception is SSGT Frank Wuterich and if the Marines insist on pursuing his prosecution, they will find themselves in the position of trying to prove homicidal behavior on the part of a non-commissioned officer whose troops apparently killed no one in an unlawful manner according to Marine courts. The only conclusion is that he acted alone, in the midst of battle, while commanding his troops, he somehow single-handedly slaughtered more than twenty innocent Iraqi civilians.
Sounds preposterous, right? Well, that's apparently what the Navy would have us believe. And make no mistake about it, it is the Navy that controls military prosecutions in the Marine Corps, and the Navy appears willing to pursue this prosecution even though SSGT Wuterich's subordinates and his two superiors who were charged have all been cleared by military courts. That leads us to speculate that either SSGT Wuterich killed those Iraqi civilians all by himself or Navy JAG is desperately in need of at least one face-saving conviction in this Haditha mess.
Or is there another reason? Perhaps command influence from a higher level? Most civilians are unaware of the tremendous pressure members of Congress are able to bring to bear on military commanders. If a particular senator or congressman doesn't happen to be on a committee or subcommittee with direct oversight over military budgets or affairs, you can bet one of his cronies does. This is particularly true with flag rank Navy officers and generals in the other services because their promotions into these lofty ranks require congressional approval.
By now you must have guessed where this is going. Consider...who is the most powerful person in this situation who stands to not only look like the grandstanding, blowhard fool that he is but could perhaps be threatened with defamation lawsuits by the young Marines whose lives he turned into hell by publicly proclaiming them "cold blooded killers." Ah yes, that would be the reigning Prince of Pork, John Murtha. Think about it, with a single conviction of any one of the Marines charged, Murtha can claim vindication and use that conviction as an effective defense against any defamation suits from any of the other defendants.
So the question begging to be asked is whether or not this congressman, who was videotaped by the FBI as indicating he is bribable, is pulling strings behind the Navy/Marine Corps command structure to pursue this phony war crimes prosecution to the bitter end. Murtha claims to be an ex-Marine to which I say, you may have worn the uniform, John, but you are sure as hell no Marine. As I have said before, the Marine Corps motto is Semper Fi, always faithful; John Murtha's motto is Semper I, always him.

Communist Party USA Endorses (CPUSA) Obama

"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of 'liberalism,' they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened." - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948
Obama Gets The Communists
Seattle Examiner
It's one thing when Obama, the Democrats' standard bearer to be, is identified as the most liberal senator. It is something else, something quite extreme, when Obama is recognized as the darling of the Communist Party USA.
That's right, Joelle Fishman -- chair of the Communist Party USA Political Action Commission and the Connecticut Communist Party -- backs Obama.
Perhaps it is no surprise. After all, except for public financing of campaigns, Obama's positions are very similar to those of the Communist Party USA:
Among the points in the party's "Immediate Program" are a $12/hour minimum wage; for all workers, universal health care, and opposition to privatization of Social Security; economic measures such as increased taxes on "the rich and corporations," strong regulation of the financial industry, "regulation and public ownership of utilities," and increased federal aid to cities and states; opposition to the Iraq War and other military interventions; opposition to free trade treaties such as NAFTA; nuclear disarmament and a reduced military budget; various civil rights provisions; campaign finance reform including public financing of campaigns; and election law reform, including Instant Runoff Voting.

Wild Thing's comment........
No surprise actually, since most of the Democrat politicans are member of this. Howard Dean, Pelosi, the list is long . He is already endorsed by so many anti-American, and terrorists groups, this just adds another one to the list.
What a mess all this is and regarding Obama very scary for sure.

Found A Republican ~ LOL

Many years ago I bought 3 rugs from a company called Claire Murray.
It is an awesome company and the Hand Hooked Rugs are first class. They are a little expensive so I didn't go crazy but the money is well spent since they last forever. I just saved up for them many years ago when we got them. We have had the 3 rugs now for 23 years. They look like new.
We never have carpeting, and prefer hardwood floors so these rugs work out perfectly for throw rugs throughout the house. And they grip the floor so they don't move easily at all when walking over them.
I had not heard from the company which was fine, and then in the last few years they started to send me emails.
Just advertising kind but the last few months it started to get to be more then one a day. haha Like something had gone wrong with their email program . I kept asking them not to send me anymore emails. I am not a big shopper since show biz was always a career one had to be careful in spending money when you don't know when the next job will be. Being careful was important.
The emails from the company had a link to click to reply and say don't send any emails. I did as I was told and clicked on the return link and sent emails asking to be off their email list. LOL But they kept sending more and more emails. hahahahaha
So just for fun I thought I would try something and maybe it would make them see I was serious. heh heh
I sent them a 5th email requesting once again to be taken off their list. Only this time a new strategy, I sent the email with a picture of Obama and wrote as you will see below. And with a wee bit of an attitude with it. giggle

Dem Pledges:" I'll 'rip apart' child-rape victims on stand"

Dem pledges: I'll 'rip apart' child-rape victims on stand
'I'm going to make sure rest of their life is ruined'
wnd ...for complete article
Massachusetts politician and defense attorney Rep. James Fagan is under intense public scrutiny after he promised to "rip apart" child victims of rape who testify if the state imposes strict sentences for sex offenders.
Fagan, a Democrat, made his controversial remarks on the state House floor, Fox News reported.
"I'm gonna rip them apart," Fagan said of child victims. "I'm going to make sure that the rest of their life is ruined, that when they're 8 years old, they throw up; when they're 12 years old, they won't sleep; when they're 19 years old, they'll have nightmares and they'll never have a relationship with anybody."
As a defense attorney, Fagan said he would prevent accused child sex offenders from experiencing a "mandatory sentence of those draconian proportions."
According to the report, his statements angered both colleagues and activists.
"I thought his comments were over the top and unnecessary," said Bradley Jones, Massachusetts House minority leader. "I appreciate that he's a defense attorney, and felt he had a point to make, but I think it was unnecessary. It was excessive."
Mark Lunsford, a Florida father who lost his 9-year-old daughter after she was kidnapped, wrapped in a trash bag and buried alive by a sex offender in 2005, said he was shocked by Fagan's remarks. He told the Boston Herald that Fagan should have more respect for the rights of sexually abused children.
"Why doesn't he figure out a way to defend that child and put these kind of people away instead of trying to figure ways for defense attorneys to get around Jessica's Law?" Lunsford asked. "These are very serious crimes that nobody wants to take serious. What about the rights of these children?"
The bill Fagan was so strongly opposed to designates mandatory minimum sentences of 10 to 15 years for crimes against children. It has passed in the House and made its way to the Senate.
According to Fox News, law professor Phyllis Goldfarb said Fagan comments were somewhat truthful in that they describe a defense attorney's obligation to find holes in the prosecutor's case when a person accused of sexually abusing a child faces mandatory sentencing.

Wild Thing's comment.......
Some people in our society practice evil simply for its own sake. Such is the case with this miserable attorney. Sounds to me like he enjoys his work. This a**hole thinks 20 years for the rape of a child is "draconian". This bastard is as sick as the rapists he defends.
Just where the hell are we going in this country, that an elected official could even say such a thing an it not be an outrage? Or that anyone would say such things.

Individual Right To Bear Arms AFFIRMED!!!
Second Amendment protects an individual right to possess a firearm

Our Founding Fathers Intent!
Affirmed 5-4.
The decision goes further than the Bush administration was asking for!! WOO HOO!!!
Thank you God.
And thank you President Bush for allowing the American people to protect themselves from criminals, stalkers and other lunatics and tyrannical governments.
Praise and Blessings to the Almighty and all SCOTUS Justices who voted to protect those rights.
I think all of us would buy Heller a steak right now, along with 5 of the Justices. A steak, a cigar and a whiskey.
The court’s 5-4 ruling strikes down the District of Columbia’s 32-year-old ban on handguns as incompatible with gun rights under the Second Amendment. The decision goes further than even the Bush administration wanted, but probably leaves most firearms laws intact.
The court had not conclusively interpreted the Second Amendment since its ratification in 1791. The amendment reads: “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.”
Source:SCOTUS blog
Court: A constitutional right to a gun
Answering a 127-year old constitutional question, the Supreme Court ruled on Thursday that the Second Amendment protects an individual right to have a gun, at least in one’s home. The Court, splitting 5-4, struck down a District of Columbia ban on handgun possession. Although times have changed since 1791, Justice Antonin Scalia said for the majority, “it is not the role of this Court to pronounce the Second Amendment extinct.”
Justice Scalia’s opinion stressed that the Court was not casting doubt on long-standing bans on carrying a concealed gun or on gun possession by felons or the mentally retarded, on laws barring guns from schools or government buildings, and laws putting conditions on gun sales.
In District of Columbia v. Heller (07-290), the Court nullified two provisions of the city of Washington’s strict 1976 gun control law: a flat ban on possessing a gun in one’s home, and a requirement that any gun — except one kept at a business — must be unloaded and disassembled or have a trigger lock in place. The Court said it was not passing on a part of the law requiring that guns be licensed. It said that issuing a license to a handgun owner, so the weapon can be used at home, would be a sufficient remedy for the Second Amendment violation of denying any access to a handgun.
Justice Scalia’s recitation from the bench of the majority’s reasoning continued for 16 minutes. Justice John Paul Stevens followed, for seven minutes, summarizing the reasons for two dissenting opinions — his and one written by Justice Stephen G. Breyer.
The decision was the final one of the Term and, after issuing it, the Court recessed for the summer, to return on Monday, Oct. 6. Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr., said that concluding orders on pending cases will be released by the Court Clerk at 10 a.m. Friday.
The opinion can be downloaded here. This is a pdf file.
.
Held:
1. The Second Amendment protects an individual right to possess a
firearm unconnected with service in a militia, and to use that arm for
traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home.
Pp. 2–53.
(a) The Amendment’s prefatory clause announces a purpose, but
does not limit or expand the scope of the second part, the operative
clause. The operative clause’s text and history demonstrate that it
connotes an individual right to keep and bear arms. Pp. 2–22.
(b) The prefatory clause comports with the Court’s interpretation
of the operative clause. The “militia” comprised all males physically
capable of acting in concert for the common defense. The Antifederalists
feared that the Federal Government would disarm the people in
order to disable this citizens’ militia, enabling a politicized standing
army or a select militia to rule. The response was to deny Congress
power to abridge the ancient right of individuals to keep and bear
arms, so that the ideal of a citizens’ militia would be preserved.
Pp. 22–28.
(c) The Court’s interpretation is confirmed by analogous armsbearing
rights in state constitutions that preceded and immediately
followed the Second Amendment. Pp. 28–30.
(d) The Second Amendment’s drafting history, while of dubious
interpretive worth, reveals three state Second Amendment proposals
that unequivocally referred to an individual right to bear arms.
Pp. 30–32.
(e) Interpretation of the Second Amendment by scholars, courts
and legislators, from immediately after its ratification through the
late 19th century also supports the Court’s conclusion. Pp. 32–47.
(f) None of the Court’s precedents forecloses the Court’s interpretation.
Neither United States v. Cruikshank, 92 U. S. 542, 553, nor
Presser v. Illinois, 116 U. S. 252, 264–265, refutes the individualrights
interpretation. United States v. Miller, 307 U. S. 174, does not
limit the right to keep and bear arms to militia purposes, but rather
limits the type of weapon to which the right applies to those used by
the militia, i.e., those in common use for lawful purposes. Pp. 47–54.
2. Like most rights, the Second Amendment right is not unlimited.
It is not a right to keep and carry any weapon whatsoever in any
manner whatsoever and for whatever purpose: For example, concealed
weapons prohibitions have been upheld under the Amendment
or state analogues. The Court’s opinion should not be taken to cast
doubt on longstanding prohibitions on the possession of firearms by
felons and the mentally ill, or laws forbidding the carrying of firearms
in sensitive places such as schools and government buildings, or
laws imposing conditions and qualifications on the commercial sale of
arms. Miller’s holding that the sorts of weapons protected are those
“in common use at the time” finds support in the historical tradition
of prohibiting the carrying of dangerous and unusual weapons.
Pp. 54–56.
3. The handgun ban and the trigger-lock requirement (as applied to
self-defense) violate the Second Amendment. The District’s total ban
on handgun possession in the home amounts to a prohibition on an
entire class of “arms” that Americans overwhelmingly choose for the
lawful purpose of self-defense. Under any of the standards of scrutiny
the Court has applied to enumerated constitutional rights, this
prohibition—in the place where the importance of the lawful defense
of self, family, and property is most acute—would fail constitutional
muster. Similarly, the requirement that any lawful firearm in the
home be disassembled or bound by a trigger lock makes it impossible
for citizens to use arms for the core lawful purpose of self-defense and
is hence unconstitutional. Because Heller conceded at oral argument
that the D. C. licensing law is permissible if it is not enforced arbitrarily
and capriciously, the Court assumes that a license will satisfy
his prayer for relief and does not address the licensing requirement.
Assuming he is not disqualified from exercising Second Amendment
rights, the District must permit Heller to register his handgun and
must issue him a license to carry it in the home. Pp. 56–64.
478 F. 3d 370, affirmed.
SCALIA, J., delivered the opinion of the Court, in which ROBERTS,
C. J., and KENNEDY, THOMAS, and ALITO, JJ., joined. STEVENS, J., filed a
dissenting opinion, in which SOUTER, GINSBURG, and BREYER, JJ.,
joined. BREYER, J., filed a dissenting opinion, in which STEVENS,
SOUTER, and GINSBURG, JJ., joined.
.
Quotes from the opinion:
“Logic demands that there be a link between the stated purpose and the command.”
“We start therefore with a strong presumption that the Second Amendment right is exercised individually and belongs to all Americans.”
“the most natural reading of ‘keep Arms’ in the Second Amendment is to “have weapons.”
“The term was applied, then as now, to weapons that were not specifically designed for military use and were not employed in a military capacity.”
“Putting all of these textual elements together, we find that they guarantee the individual right to possess and carry weapons in case of confrontation.”
“Thus, we do not read the Second Amendment to protect the right of citizens to carry arms for any sort of confrontation, just as we do not read the First Amendment to protect the right of citizens to speak for any purpose.”
“The prefatory clause does not suggest that preserving the militia was the only reason Americans valued the ancient right; most undoubtedly thought it even more important for self-defense and hunting.”
“It was plainly the understanding in the post-Civil War Congress that the Second Amendment protected an individual right to use arms for self-defense.”
“Like most rights, the right secured by the Second Amendment is not unlimited.”
“Although we do not undertake an exhaustive historical analysis today of the full scope of the Second Amendment, nothing in our opinion should be taken to cast doubt on longstanding prohibitions on the possession of firearms by felons and the mentally ill, or laws forbidding the carrying of firearms in sensitive places such as schools and government buildings, or laws imposing conditions and qualifications on the commercial sale of arms.”
“We also recognize another important limitation on the right to keep and carry arms. Miller said, as we have explained, that the sorts of weapons protected were those ‘in common use at the time.’ 307 U. S., at 179.”
“Whatever the reason, handguns are the most popular weapon chosen by Americans for self-defense in the home, and a complete prohibition of their use is invalid.”
“In sum, we hold that the District’s ban on handgun possession in the home violates the Second Amendment, as does its prohibition against rendering any lawful firearm in the home operable for the purpose of immediate self-defense. Assuming that Heller is not disqualified from the exercise of Second Amendment rights, the District must permit him to register his handgun and must issue him a license to carry it in the home.”
On the question of the Second Amendment’s application to the States: “23 With respect to Cruikshank’s continuing validity on incorporation, a question not presented by this case, we note that Cruikshank also said that the First Amendment did not apply against the States and did not engage in the sort of Fourteenth Amendment inquiry required by our later cases. Our later decisions in Presser v. Illinois, 116 U. S. 252, 265 (1886) and Miller v. Texas, 153 U. S. 535, 538 (1894), reaffirmed that the Second Amendment applies only to the Federal Government.”
.
LOOK at this......APPALLING LEFT WING ARROGANT IGNORANCE!!!
Justice Stephen Breyer wrote a separate dissent in which he said, “In my view, there simply is no untouchable constitutional right guaranteed by the Second Amendment to keep loaded handguns in the house in crime-ridden urban areas.”

Supreme Court Gun Ban Ruling Expected Today

Supreme Court Gun Ban Ruling Expected
The U.S. Supreme Court yesterday, did not release its long-awaited ruling on whether the District's handgun ban violates the Second Amendment. That means the potentially landmark decision will almost certainly come today when the court is planning to issue the last of its rulings for the term.
The case, District of Columbia v. Heller, which was argued nearly four months ago, could settle the decades-old debate over whether the Second Amendment grants individuals the right to own firearms.
Mayor Adrain M. Fenty is planning to hold a news conference at the John A. Wilson Building after the decision is announced.

Wild Thing's comment..........
Citizens are armed; subjects are not. We shall remain armed.
The founding fathers based the bill of rights on thier beleif that we have a right to "...life, liberty, and the persuit of happiness..."
Liberty and the pursuit of happiness are all great, but pretty meaningless if one cannot defend his life. This is what we have come to today.

Supreme Court Rules: Child Rapists Can't Be Executed

Child rapists can't be executed, Supreme Court rules
The U.S. Supreme Court ruled 5-4 Wednesday that child rapists cannot be executed, concluding that capital punishment for crimes against individuals can be applied only to murderers.
The ruling stemmed from the case of Patrick Kennedy, who appealed the 2003 death sentence he received in Louisiana after being convicted of raping his 8-year-old stepdaughter.
Justice Anthony Kennedy wrote in the majority opinion that execution in this case would violate the Eighth Amendment's prohibition against cruel and unusual punishment, citing "evolving standards of decency" in the United States.
Such standards, the justice wrote, forbid capital punishment for any crime against an individual other than murder.
"We conclude that, in determining whether the death penalty is excessive, there is a distinction between intentional first-degree murder on the one hand and nonhomicide crimes against individual persons, even including child rape, on the other," wrote Kennedy, who is not related to the convicted rapist.
Patrick Kennedy, 43, would have been the first convicted rapist in the United States since 1964 to be executed in a case in which the victim was not killed.
Kennedy was convicted of sexually assaulting his stepdaughter in her bed. The attack caused severe emotional trauma, internal injuries and bleeding to the child, requiring extensive surgery, Louisiana prosecutors said.
In the majority opinion, Anthony Kennedy acknowledged "the victim's fright, the sense of betrayal, and the nature of her injuries caused more prolonged physical and mental suffering than, say, a sudden killing by an unseen assassin."
But the justice -- supported by Justices John Paul Stevens, David Souter, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen Breyer -- wrote that when determining what punishment the Eighth Amendment prohibits, "evolving standards of decency that mark the progress of a maturing society" must be taken into account.

Wild Thing's comment........
These justices who think raping a child should not be a capital offense are so horrible I cannot even fathom how their mind works. This is truly an abomination!
“The ruling stemmed from the case of Patrick Kennedy, who was sentenced to death in 2003 for raping his 8-year-old stepdaughter.”
He WAS sentenced to death and now they protect the rapist. Disgusting!

It's Not Easy Being Green For Democrat Convention ~ LOL

Hundreds of free bikes will be available for anyone looking for an alternative to automobiles during the Democratic convention in Denver -- and also in Minneapolis-St. Paul when the Republicans convene.
From left, Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper, Director of Bikes Belong Tim Blumenthal, convention organizer Parry Burnap and Dan Oftedahl of Humana, which will provide the free bikes, announced the initiative in early May.

Democrats hope to power media pavilions in part with solar energy. Wind energy will be used to power the convention halls
The Greenest Show on Earth: Democrats Gear Up for Denver
From Organic Fanny Packs to 'Pure' Trash, Party Planners Face Logistical Nightmare
As the Mile High City gears up to host a Democratic bash for 50,000, organizers are discovering the perils of trying to stage a political spectacle that's also politically correct.
Fanny Packs
The host committee for the Democratic National Convention wanted 15,000 fanny packs for volunteers. But they had to be made of organic cotton. By unionized labor. In the USA.
Official merchandiser Bob DeMasse scoured the country. His weary conclusion: "That just doesn't exist."
Ditto for the baseball caps. "We have a union cap or an organic cap," Mr. DeMasse says. "But we don't have a union-organic offering."
Much of the hand-wringing can be blamed on Denver's Democratic mayor, John Hickenlooper, who challenged his party and his city to "make this the greenest convention in the history of the planet."
Convention organizers hired the first-ever Director of Greening, longtime environmental activist Andrea Robinson. Her response to the mayor's challenge: "That terrifies me!"
After all, the last time Democrats met in Denver -- to nominate William Jennings Bryan in 1908 -- they dispatched horse-drawn wagons to bring snow from the Rocky Mountains to cool the meeting hall. Ms. Robinson suspected modern-day delegates would prefer air conditioning. So she quickly modified the mayor's goal: She'd supervise "the most sustainable political convention in modern American history."
Now, she must pull it off.
To test whether celebratory balloons advertised as biodegradable actually will decompose, Ms. Robinson buried samples in a steaming compost heap. She hired an Official Carbon Adviser, who will measure the greenhouse-gas emissions of every placard, every plane trip, every appetizer prepared and every coffee cup tossed. The Democrats hope to pay penance for those emissions by investing in renewable energy projects.
Perhaps Ms. Robinson's most audacious goal is to reuse, recycle or compost at least 85% of all waste generated during the convention.
The Trash Brigade
To police the four-day event Aug. 25-28, she's assembling (via paperless online signup) a trash brigade. Decked out in green shirts, 900 volunteers will hover at waste-disposal stations to make sure delegates put each scrap of trash in the proper bin. Lest a fork slip into the wrong container unnoticed, volunteers will paw through every bag before it is hauled away.

Lest a fork slip into the wrong container unnoticed, volunteers will paw through every bag before it is hauled away.
"That's the only way to make sure it's pure," Ms. Robinson says.
Food
No fried food. And, on the theory that nutritious food is more vibrant, each meal should include "at least three of the following colors: red, green, yellow, blue/purple, and white." (Garnishes don't count.) At least 70% of ingredients should be organic or grown locally, to minimize emissions from fuel burned during transportation. "One would think," says Mr. Burns, "that the Democrats in Denver have bigger fish to bake -- they have ruled out frying already -- than mandating color-coordinated pretzel platters."
The city has staged "greening workshops" attended by hundreds of caterers, restaurant owners and hotel managers.
"It's the new patriotism," Mayor Hickenlooper says.
Coors Conflict
But it's almost inevitable that principles, politics and profit will conflict. To wit: Coors Brewing Co., in Golden, Colo., will donate biofuel made from beer waste to power the convention's fleet of flex-fuel vehicles. A green star for the convention -- but it has rankled die-hard liberals, who boycotted Coors in the 1960s and '70s to protest hiring practices that they said discriminated against blacks, Latinos, women and gays. Heirs to the Coors fortune have long been active in conservative causes and Republican politics.
Convention officials say Coors is a good corporate citizen. And a Coors spokeswoman says the donation was a gesture of civic pride, not politics.
No matter, grumbles Anna Flynn, a longtime union member from Denver who objected to the donation. "Any way you put it, it's still Coors," she says.
So will the fanny packs -- made in the USA of undyed, organic fabric. Mr. DeMasse vows to get a union shop to print the logo, but he says the ink will be petroleum based. Unless, that is, he decides to get the logo embroidered -- with biodegradable thread.

Wild Thing's comment.......
LOL This is going to be so much fun to watch....too bad Hillary won't be a major player to stir things up.
"Decked out in green shirts, 900 volunteers will hover at waste-disposal stations to make sure delegates put each scrap of trash in the proper bin. Lest a fork slip into the wrong container unnoticed, volunteers will paw through every bag before it is hauled away."
LMAO this is rich! hahaha They could call them the Green Nazi Patrol. And if they were really serious they should ban all private jets to the convention.
You just know if Gore is going to be there he will be arriving on his private jet.

China And India To Drill For Cuban Oil Off Florida Keys in Gulf
Just for some fun. While we wait, and wait.....and wait for the left and the rino's to get a brain about drilling NOW!
China and India to drill for Cuban oil off Florida keys in Gulf of Mexico

Plans for foreign oil companies, some from India and China, to drill off the cost of Cuba are prompting calls from lawmakers to ease environmental restrictions that prohibit coastal drilling in most of the U.S., according to a report Tuesday.
At a time of rising soaring gasoline prices caused partly by a lack of supply, legislators are fuming that Cuba is opening up its continental shelf for oil and gas exploration while most of the U.S. continental shelf outside the Gulf of Mexico, which extends 200 miles from shore, has been off limits for drilling since the early 1980s, the New York Times reported.
Adding insult to injury, the Times said U.S. firms were invited to bid on the Cuban contracts, but were barred by the U.S. government due to the country’s longstanding economic embargo of communist Cuba.
“Red China should not be left to drill for oil within spitting distance of our shores without competition from U.S. industries,” Sen. Larry Craig, Republican of Idaho, told the Times.
Firms from Canada and Spain will also drill off the Cuban coast, the article said
Craig is introducing a bill to exempt U.S. oil firms from the embargo, much as food and drug firms are, according to the article.
There are also several bills moving through Congress aimed at opening up areas more areas of the U.S. to oil and gas exploration, including coastal waters and Alaska’s Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.
Supporters of the bills, including the oil industry, say it would help bring down oil and gas prices and decrease the country’s reliance on oil imports from the volatile Middle East.
Gasoline prices have soared 33 percent over the last year, while the price of crude oil has tripled since 2002.
The paper also cited an Interior Department study that said the U.S. continental shelf contained 115 billion barrels of oil and 633 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. That would be enough oil to satisfy U.S. demand, at current consumption levels, for 16 years and enough natural gas for 25 years, according to the Times.
And this:
Obama's fight against 'dirty oil' could hurt oil sands
National Post for complete article
Barack Obama on Tuesday vowed he would break America's addiction to "dirty, dwindling, and dangerously expensive" oil if he is elected U.S. president -- and one of his first targets might well be Canada's oil sands.
A senior adviser to Mr. Obama's campaign told reporters it's an "open question" whether oil produced from northern Alberta's oilsands fits with the Democratic candidate's plan to shift the U.S. sharply away from consumption of carbon-intensive fossil fuels.
"If it turns out that those technologies don't advance . . . and the only way to produce those resources would be at a significant penalty to climate change, then we don't believe that those resources are going to be part of the long-term, are going to play a growing role in the long-term future," said Jason Grumet, Mr. Obama's senior energy adviser.
The remarks amount to a shot across the bow of Alberta's oil sands industry, which is planning to boost production from 1.3 million barrels a day to 3.5 million barrels over the next decade.
Senator John McCain, the Republican presidential candidate, has also vowed to support alternative energy and reduce U.S. dependence on foreign oil. Mr. McCain has placed more emphasis, however, on the need to lower American reliance on oil from the Middle East and countries like Nigeria and Venezuela. "America imports about one-third of its oil from Canada and Mexico and no one need worry about a reliance on friendly, stable neighbours, and partners in NAFTA," Mr. McCain said in a speech Monday in Fresno, Calif.
Christopher Sands, a Canada-U.S. relations expert at the Washington-based Hudson Institute, said Mr. Obama's energy policy could pose as big a challenge to the Canadian economy as his vow to renegotiate the North American Free Trade Agreement.

Wild Thing's comment........
Obama is so S T U P I D it hurts!!! The only thing that is “dirty, dwindling, and dangerously expensive” are the words from the lips of Barack HUSSEIN Obama.
So, while Obama is floundering around to fine alternatives to "dirty oil" his people still have to drive to work, get their goods and food delivered by road and heat their homes.

Alaska Gov. To Sen. Reid: Start Drilling in ANWR!

Sarah Palin, the Governor of Alaska responding to Democrats drilling in ANWR
She wants drilling in ANWR.
Pro Gun,,,, NRA Member.
Filed suit against the Federal Government over the Polar Bear Issue.
Has a Spine!
Her name was mentioned on McCain's long list for VP.
Alaska Gov. to Sen. Reid: Start Drilling in ANWR!
wnd
In a letter to Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and other key leaders, Alaska Republican Gov. Sarah Palin urges Congress to allow drilling for oil on the Outer Continental Shelf and the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in northern Alaska, an area she calls "the most promising unexplored petroleum province in North America."
"What will it take for Congress to enact comprehensive energy policy?" Palin asks in the letter, dated yesterday. "In my opinion, the debate about energy policy is no longer theoretical and abstract. Our failure to enact an energy policy is having real consequences for every American in their daily lives and has begun to affect America's place in the world."
Palin, whose name appears on lists of potential vice-presidential candidates, concludes with a bold challenge:
"I don't think it's overly dramatic to say that his nation's future and the quality of life for every American are dependent on the decision you make or don't make in the next few months."
Last week, Reid called Sen. John McCain's call for offshore drilling "nothing more than a cynical campaign ploy that will do nothing to lower energy prices and represents another big giveaway to oil companies already making billions in profits."
Palin says in her letter she does not guarantee a price drop with drilling in ANWR but argues increasing domestic oil supply would "help reduce price volatility" and "send a strong message to oil speculators."
"Yet, there is an even more important point," Palin writes, contending America must take measures to decrease dependence on foreign oil, since "U.S. petrodollars are financing activities that are harmful to America and to our economic and military interests around the world."
Environmentalists and Democrats in Congress long have argued against increased drilling in the U.S., favoring instead conservation and alternative fuels. Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama's website promises $150 billion in increased spending to develop new fuels and renewable energy sources.
Palin's letter argues against looking only to those approaches, pointing out a need for domestic oil production to supply the economy's many products made from petroleum, not just gasoline.
"The soaring prices of chemicals, plastics, fertilizer and other products – and the loss of jobs – graphically illustrate this point," the letter states. "We must recognize that is will be many years, if ever, before we discover alternatives to the petroleum-based products that every American uses in our daily lives."
Palin addresses the concerns of environmentalists about drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, or ANWR.
Oil exploration and development "can be conducted in a safe manner," she writes, pointing out the footprint of oil development facilities in ANWR would take up "less than 2,000 acres" of a refuge roughly the size of South Carolina.
And this is excellent as well!! .........Transcript from one of Rush's show's
PALIN: I want to make sure that we're not just talking about the need to develop, to ramp up development, offshore and in ANWR, but we're asking them now, "What's your plan? If not domestic supplies being tapped into with offshore and with ANWR, then, Congress, what is your plan?"
RUSH: Amen! Here is a female Republican who is willing to gut it up. She sent Dingy Harry a letter. She challenged the Democrats to drill in ANWR. "What's your plan?" If we're not going to drill offshore and we're not going to drill in ANWR, what is your plan for more energy? And here was Obama in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was at a campaign event. Here's Obama pretty much responding to Sarah Palin, whether he knew it or not.
He immitates OBAMA: We're not going to bring down gas prices easily, quickly. The only way to do it is to reduce demand, uh, over the long term in a serious way. And so, you know, I -- I -- I -- when John McCain says, well, we're going to drill our way out of the problem, or we're going to give tax cut, uh, uh, hol -- or suspend the gas tax for 60 days which would save you 30 cents a day for 90 days for a grand total of $28, you know, then I say, you know, that's a gimmick. You're not being serious.
RUSH: I just can't take this man seriously, folks. I'm sorry. I listen I want to know to him and I want to laugh. Here's a guy who thinks you're paying too much for everything except gasoline. You're paying too much for health care. You're paying too much for tuition. You're paying too much for education. You're paying too much for this, too much for that. But not gasoline. Whatever amount that the gallon of gasoline might be reduced, it's insignificant. It's a gimmick. It's a trick. Yet these are the people supposedly concerned with the dire economic consequences brought on by the Republicans. We're not going to bring down gas prices easily, quickly? We're not? We're not even going to try? The only way to do it is to reduce demand over the long term?
No, it's not. You can conservative out the wazoo, senator, and you're not going to produce any more. This is pathetic. We cannot afford this guy -- I mean financially. Forget all the other ways. We just can't afford him. The average American could not afford to pay for a Barack Obama presidency. It's just no more complicated than that. Now another one of the wizards of smart. Thomas Friedman, New York Times, was on Scarborough's show today, the cohost Willie Geist interviewed Friedman, said, "What's the direction? I mean, we've heard so much about offshore drilling, all these short-term solution, where should we be headed as a country, [wizard of smart]? What's the bottom line on all of this?"
FRIEDMAN: It's a policy that first of all starts with incentives for what I call radical "innovation," that's gonna give us abundant, cheap, clean, reliable electrons. For that you need really the market signals -- gasoline tax, carbon tax -- that will stimulate a hundred thousand-man patent projects in a hundred thousand garages. Second thing you need is dramatic improvements in energy efficiency. That's standards for refrigerators and lightbulbs and mileage standards so we don't need so many electrons. And third, you're going to need conservation. How about going back to driving 55 miles an hour? You can save millions of gallons just there.
RUSH: Well, that's it. The wizard of smart, Thomas Friedman, wants to roll back our advancement, roll back our lifestyle and give us abundant, cheap, clean, reliable electrons. Yeah. For those of you... "You really need the market signals, gas tax, carbon tax, that will stimulate a hundred thousand man patent per check. He projects in a hundred thousand garages." You know, it's not electrons. It's not electrons that we need to be working on. It's neutrinos. If we could isolate and find neutrinos, put 'em in the accelerator, and find a way to harness their interaction with protons and neutrons, the neutrino could unlock every secret we have. Do you hear any research on neutrinos? The only using neutrinos are people that are trying to manufacture plutonium, on their own.
You've gotta do it deep underground. But neutrinos? He's talking about electrons. Electrons are old hat. That's like trying to mess around with the atom. We already figured that out. Neutrinos! Neutrinos are the future. But besides all that, this is lame. This is lame lunacy. Roll it back to 55? All these people on the left want you to sacrifice your family's future, your growth opportunity, prosperity, and opportunity. We are a nation in a constant state of decline, as they look at it. By the way, you think these people are going to follow suit on any of this? You think they are? I mean, if we go 55, Friedman might have to drive 55, but other than that, do you think they're going to go sacrificing like they want you to? Heh-heh-heh. No way.

Wild Thing's comment........
You Go Sarah!!!!! GOOD!
"Last week, Reid called Sen. John McCain's call for offshore drilling "nothing more than a cynical campaign ploy that will do nothing to lower energy prices and represents another big giveaway to oil companies already making billions in profits."
Giveaway to the oil companies or lower prices to the proletariet?? He just admitted that oil costs would come down with drilling.

Fallujah Security Strengthen in Numbers

Cpl. Jonathan C. Austin, communications chief and convoy commander with Company B, Iraqi Transition Team 8, Regimental Combat Team 1, slaps an Iraqi child "hi-five" during a patrol through Fallujah June 9. Austin, a Lincolnton, N.C. native, took a few minutes with some transition members to play soccer with neighborhood childeren during the operation.
FALLUJAH, Iraq– Marines geared for war walk in tactical columns through the once mean streets of Fallujah, ready for what may lay around the next corner.
“Mister, mister shokalata! Shokalata!”shout exuberant children from a crowded neighborhood as Marines and Iraqi police pass out candy.
Marines with Company B, Police Transition Team 8, Regimental Combat Team 1, have been working diligently over the past few months to help train Iraqi police to take over their respective areas and become self-supportive in day-to-day operations in the city.
Recent increases in the number of Iraqi police have drastically subdued the violence in the city.
“These guys are going out on a daily basis by themselves and coming back with suspect arrests,” said Lance Cpl. Andrew L. Walker, a 20-year-old police transition team member from Crane Hill, Ala. “For the most part, they are doing a really good job with many of the issues going on here.”
Marines with the transition team spend time mentoring Iraqi police and work with them to control the Mauallimeen area. Joint patrols in the city work to strengthen relationships with the IPs and Marines, and offer Marines a chance to evaluate how the police operate in various situations.

LOL Egomaniac Obama Pulls Presidential Seal!

Obama Pulls New Presidential Seal
That was a one-time thing for a one-time event,” Robert Gibbs asserted to CNN about the rather intricately designed seal that made its debut last Friday.
The new seal was unveiled on Obama's podium when he spoke to a group of Democratic governors.
The Latin phrase "E Pluribus Unum," which translates to "Out of many, one," was replaced with "Vero Possumus," which translates to "Truly, we are able" — a rough translation of the Obama campaign slogan "Yes we can."
The deletion of "E Pluribus Unum," long considered the de-facto motto of the United States, is not accidental for multiculturalists, who have long denigrated the concept that immigrants must strip away their old culture in favor of the "oneness" of American civilization.
And CNN reported that Obama was not simply facing critics from the right, but also from some left-wing supporters who did not like his new and improved seal.
“Many wondered whether a seal — with Latin phrasing no less — was the best idea for a candidate fighting for the working-class vote and trying to fend off allegations of elitism,” CNN reported.

Wild Thing's comment.........
They are now saying they designed that seal for a one-time use at a one-time event. And they intended that it not be used again. LMAO..... Sure sorry I don't believe things coming out of the mouth of a lilberal(s) . Nev-ah!
They got called on it. Damage control just like Jeremiah Wright.
I’m surprised he did not release the statement “This is not the seal I knew before...” !!!!

Hey Obama ~ "Oh, what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive"
Obama Apology to Muslim Women Orchestrated by Muslim U.S. House Rep.(Keith Ellison)
An apology issued by Barack Obama to two Muslim women booted from the front lines of a public appearance by the Democratic presidential candidate last week was orchestrated by Rep. Keith Ellison, the first Muslim ever elected to Congress.
Multiple congressional sources confirm that it was Ellison, D-Minn., who confronted Obama over the issue during a meeting with the Congressional Black Caucus.
Obama called the women to apologize after two volunteers with the campaign removed the women from the stage area behind the location where Obama would be speaking. The volunteers allegedly told the women it was because they were wearing traditional Muslim scarves.
Sources told FOX News that it was Ellison who raised the issue of the alleged impropriety with Obama and provided the prospective nominee with the women’s phone numbers.
One key lawmaker who was present described the exchange between Obama and Ellison as “cordial” but “direct.”
Another source familiar with the exchange added that many members of the CBC supported Ellison and said “it was an issue that needed to be addressed.
However, congressional sources indicated that Ellison’s exchange with Obama was so intense that CBC Chairwoman Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick, D-Mich., had to intervene and attempted to gavel down Ellison.
In conversations with other media outlets, Ellison has been critical of Obama campaign efforts to distance the candidate from Islam. Ellison has also intimated that the campaign has cancelled campaign events because of the potential of linking Obama with him, the most-senior Muslim in the federal government.
LOL then there is this!
Muslim Voters Detect a Snub From Obama
As Senator Barack Obama courted voters in Iowa last December, Representative Keith Ellison, the country’s first Muslim congressman, stepped forward eagerly to help.
Mr. Ellison ...volunteered to speak on Mr. Obama’s behalf at a mosque in Cedar Rapids, one of the nation’s oldest Muslim enclaves. But before the rally could take place, aides to Mr. Obama asked Mr. Ellison to cancel the trip because it might stir controversy. Another aide appeared at Mr. Ellison’s Washington office to explain.
“I will never forget the quote,” Mr. Ellison said, leaning forward in his chair as he recalled the aide’s words. “He said, ‘We have a very tightly wrapped message.’ ”
When Mr. Obama began his presidential campaign, Muslim Americans from California to Virginia responded with enthusiasm, seeing him as a long-awaited champion of civil liberties, religious tolerance and diplomacy in foreign affairs. But more than a year later, many say, he has not returned their embrace.
While the senator has visited churches and synagogues, he has yet to appear at a single mosque.
Muslim and Arab-American organizations have tried repeatedly to arrange meetings with Mr. Obama, but officials with those groups say their invitations — unlike those of their Jewish and Christian counterparts — have been ignored. Last week, two Muslim women wearing head scarves were barred by campaign volunteers from appearing behind Mr. Obama at a rally in Detroit.
In interviews, Muslim political and civic leaders said they understood that their support for Mr. Obama could be a problem for him at a time when some Americans are deeply suspicious of Muslims. Yet those leaders nonetheless expressed disappointment and even anger at the distance that Mr. Obama has kept from them.
“This is the ‘hope campaign,’ this is the ‘change campaign,’ ” said Mr. Ellison, Democrat of Minnesota. Muslims are frustrated, he added, that “they have not been fully engaged in it.”
...on a new section of his Web site, he classifies the claim that he is Muslim as a “smear.”
“A lot of us are waiting for him to say that there’s nothing wrong with being a Muslim, by the way,” Mr. Ellison said
Some Muslim supporters of Mr. Obama seem to ricochet between dejection and optimism. Minha Husaini, a public health consultant in her 30s who is working for the Obama campaign in Philadelphia, lights up like a swooning teenager when she talks about his promise for change.
“He gives me hope,” Ms. Husaini said in an interview last month, shortly before she joined the campaign on a fellowship. But she sighed when the conversation turned to his denials of being Muslim, “as if it’s something bad,” she said.

Wild Thing's comment........
Wherever there are Muslims, there are also the elements of chaos, anarchy and destruction. The core of the campaign is the introduction of communism to our system of government. The message is tightly wrapped because it's hidden and tagged "Do Not Open until Jan 2009".
LOL Keith Ellison just might get thrown under the bus with the others. heh heh
About the women that Obama offended:
"The two Muslim women are pro-radical Muslim activists. Hebba Aref, was an official of the Muslim Students Association (MSA), in charge of proselytizing. The Chicago Tribune identified the MSA as part of the American manifestation of the Sunni terrorist group, Al-Ikhwan Al-Muslimeen--The Muslim Brotherhood. Aref served on the executive board of the University of Michigan-Dearborn's MSA, which demanded and obtained tax-funded Muslim foot baths at that university,
Shimaa Abdelfadeel, the other woman allegedly excluded by the Obama campaign, was chair of SAFE, a University of Michigan-Ann Arbor group that hosted the 2002 Divestment Conference against Israel at which "Annihilate the Jews!" was chanted and Islamic Jihad founder Sami Al-Arian was keynote speaker. She's the author of vehement anti-Israel propaganda. "

Latest From USA Hating Lawyers and Judges: U.S. Court Says GITMO Detainees Not Enemy Combatants

US court says Guantanamo detainees not enemy combatants
A U.S. federal appeals court has struck down the U.S. military's classification of a Guantanamo Bay detainee as an enemy combatant.
This is the first time the U.S. court system has overruled the Bush administration's designation of a detainee since the Guantanamo facility began operations in early 2002.
The court ruled in favor of a Chinese Muslim, Huzaifa Parhat, who has spent the last six years in detention and is one of more than 100 detainees to challenge their enemy combatant status in the U.S. judicial system. The court directed the U.S. military to release Parhat, transfer him out of Guantanamo, or hold a new proceeding to once again determine his status.
The court announced its decision without providing any details, saying the ruling contains classified information. The Department of Defense did not immediately comment on the matter.
Human rights groups say the appeals court ruling is a landmark decision for Guantanamo detainees, yet one with little practical benefit for Parhat.
Stacy Sullivan is a counter-terrorism advisor for New York-based Human Rights Watch.
"He Parhat will probably not be released," she said. "He is a Chinese Uighur, and there are a number of Chinese Uighurs being held at Guantanamo who are already declared no longer enemy combatants. But they cannot leave Guantanamo because they have nowhere to go. They cannot be sent back to China because they have a well-founded fear of torture in China, and the United States to its credit will not send them back there. So the Uighurs are pretty much stuck in Guantanamo."
In 2006, the United States released five Uighurs from Guantanamo and resettled them in Albania. China, which regards the Uighurs as terrorists and separatists, demanded Albania to return them to China. Albania did not comply.
U.S. authorities believe some Uighurs have links to al-Qaeda. But they admit the Uighurs held at Guantanamo never fought against the United States, nor did they take part in the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York and Washington.
Human Rights Watch's Stacy Sullivan says the plight of the Guantanamo Uighurs points to a real dilemma facing the United States if at some point it decides to close Guantanamo, an action favored by both presumptive Republican and Democratic presidential nominees.
"There are about 50 detainees there who have said they do not want to go home because they fear being tortured: Uzbeks, Libyans, Uighurs, a few other nationalities," she said. "What is to be done with them? It is simple enough to transfer those for whom we have evidence of terrorism and try them in our federal court system. But the 50 detainees who cannot go home, it is unclear what is going to happen to them, and that is going to make closing Guantanamo really difficult."
The federal appeals court ruling follows a U.S. Supreme Court decision earlier this month affirming the right of Guantanamo suspects to challenge their detention in U.S. civilian courts.

When lawyers are the front-line on the war on terror, you can fear for our safety. Undermining of our intelligence and rewarding the terrorist.
I wish we could lock up ALL our lawyers and Judges. What good are they anyway. They are constantly serving the enemy, the criminal and NOT the victim. They put bad guys back out onto the streets all the time and could care less about doing the right thing.
Somebody sworn to kill Americans and non believers isn’t an enemy combatant????
As far as this court saying that guy is not an enemy combatant, we’re on the slippery slope. Sheesh!
The Supreme Court ruling was that these people at Gitmo have the rights of habeas corpus as any U.S. citizen would. The next step was this lower court saying that this one guy is not an enemy combatant. I fear that the slippery slope is that we won’t legally be able to classify anyone as an enemy combatant, because it won’t be allowed by courts.
This war against Islam is not like other wars, there will be no treaty, no terms of surrender, no conquering enemy territory. Instead, there is only vigilance until the enemy’s capacity to project power is quelled.
Who needs enemies? We will destroy ourselves from within. Our ‘law’ will ensure it.

101st Uncovers Vehicle-borne Improvised Explosive Device Factory (VBIED)
3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division
1-33 uncovers VBIED factory
By Sgt. 1st Class Kerensa Hardy
3rd BCT PAO NCOIC
A routine gathering with local leaders resulted in the discovery of a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device factory near Hamid Shaban.
Acting on a tip from an attendee at the meeting, Rakkasan Soldiers from Troop A, 1st Squadron, 33rd Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), acted quickly and found what appeared to be a makeshift VBIED workshop about a mile away from the gathering.
“We came up with a quick plan and headed that way,” said Staff Sgt. Adam McMurray, a platoon sergeant from Aydlett, N.C., who provided command and control for the mission.
The Soldiers had to find their way to the house, about a mile away, without detailed directions or a grid coordinate.
Once at the location, the house was cleared by a team of Soldiers led by Sgt. Walter Nickel, from Pago Pago, American Samoa.
“After the house was cleared, we noticed that the kerosene heater was still on, the Chai (tea) was still hot,” McMurray said. “I mean, we had just missed these guys.”
The most valuable find was in front of the house – four vehicles suspected to be used as VBIEDs. One vehicle had wires running from the inside to the trunk. McMurray said it was blatantly obvious the vehicle was intended to be used as a VBIED.
The Soldiers found more explosives and a homemade rocket
