Rep. Duncan Hunter Announces 2008 White House Bid

SAN DIEGO — Republican Rep. Duncan Hunter, chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, said Monday he will run for president in 2008.
"This is going to be a long road, it's a challenging road, there's going to be some rough and tumble, but I think it's the right thing to do for our country," Hunter, who has represented the 52nd Congressional District in San Diego County for 26 years, said at a waterfront press conference.
The declaration allows the California congressman to begin raising money and organize supporters in early Republican primary states such as Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina.
Hunter's bid surprised some Republican leaders in Washington. He had not been discussed as one of the many candidates considering a presidential bid, including Sens. John McCain of Arizona, Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani.
Solidly pro-life, A+ from the NRA, sponsored the border fence bill and some other pro-life bills. Vietnam vet, small business owner, chairman of the Armed Services Committee. He is 58 years old. Duncan Hunter's father was a WWII Marine, and his son a Marine who has served in Iraq
Hunter got an "A" rating from Gun Owners of America.
There is this.... which is also great about him.
COSCO Doesn't Deserve Long Beach Port
by Congressman Duncan Hunter
He also nailed CNN recently with a question asking "whether CNN wants US to win against terrorists when they aired the video of terrorists killing our soldiers. And he demanded the Pentagon do something about it.

Hunter says Dubai is unfit and cannot be trusted to manage ports in America.
He is a champion of border enforcement among other things.
Duncan Hunter's voting record....HERE.
Duncan Hunter was born in Riverside, California. He briefly attended the University of Montana and the University of California, Santa Barbara before enlisting in the United States Army. He served in the Vietnam War in the 173rd Airborne Brigade and the 75th Army Rangers. After returning, Hunter utilized the G.I. Bill to attend Western State University Law School in San Diego and, while completing his degree, he supplemented his income by working in farming and construction.
Hunter's son, Duncan Duane Hunter, a First Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps, was deployed to Iraq in 2003.

Duncan Hunter is a tough SOB - he is willing to call a spade a spade - and that has a way of forcing issues to the surface where other politicians have to address the same issues with equal or greater strength.
I think this is great news.

Kerry Bashes Our Military

John Ziegler Show" on KFI 640AM in Southern CA played a clip from Senator John F Kerry's appearance at Pasadena City College with candidate Phil Angelides, Democrat for CA governor.
At the event, Kerry had this to say about our brave military volunteers:
"You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."
You can CLICK HERE to hear the audio.

Wild Thing's comment.......
For starters Kerry is such a LIAR!
Liberals hate the military. America's military, in any case. Kerry is a shirker and malingerer who ran away from Vietnam after three months and three scratches, two of which were probably self-inflicted. He used his cameo appearance in the war zone as a platform from which to declare real warriors as like unto the "hordes of Ghengis Khan." What a thoroughly despicable poseur and phony.
This should be front page on every paper in the country, but the media won't show it I bet. Maybe on Hannity or Rush Limbaugh might play it today. But it won't be in the morning paper for sure.

The Nightmare on Main Street Edition of the GTB Blogburst

This weeks Guard the Borders blogburst is brought to you by Heidi at Euphoric Reality
I was having a helluva time writing an article for this week's GTB Blogburst. Over the weekend, I started three articles and each one fizzled out for lack of inspiration. For instance, I started one on President Bush's new fence bill - the one that has no funding - and it was hard for me to work up any outrage, since I wasn't surprised at such an empty gesture. In fact, I was expecting nothing less from this President, and that's a sorry indictment of how faithless he's become. The President's abrogation of this issue has boiled my blood for years, and is one of the main reasons why I am no longer a Republican, but now a furious and rebellious Independent. As I mulled over what to say about Bush's latest nothingness, I realized that anything I had say about his treason on this issue,
I've already said before - and then some.
So I started another article about the effect of the immigration issue on elections; or rather, the effect it should have, but isn't. Because here we are at election time again, having to hold our noses to go elect more of the same do-nothing politicians. Yeah, the same types who have successfully ignored the will of the people for so many years. Out of a nation of 300 million people, you'd think we could field a few really top notch candidates for leadership at any level. But noooo...
The point is that I remain uninspired and severely jaded. Call it writer's block, or call it a crisis of faith, but... I. GOT. NUTHIN'.
So, in a late hour attempt to find some really good material to offer our faithful Blogburst readers, I sent out a request to our affiliates for their favorite links this week, which I could compile for everyone's convenience.
Thus, this week's Blogburst is a little bit of a Trick or Treat - some chilling, and some funny. Which is apropos, considering that our nation's immigration policy is a monstrous nightmare for mainstream Americans.
The Nightmare on Main Street Edition of the GTB Blogburst
So Bush signed a law to create a border fence. Here
is an image of the fence as designed by a joint committee of Mexicans and Liberals, and approved by Bush...
"Report an illegal to the Feds and watch the Feds sit on their hands!"
Minuteman 2.0.: The Minuteman
project was a publicity stunt; we now need to take it to the next level and have citizen patrols guarding the
border.
"Needed: Border Billboards": As soon as sniper
posts are erected along our borders, we'll need some billboards erected that read something like this...
The Carpentersville Saga: Carpentersville Illinois is pursuing a Hazelton style ordinance, but as these two videos show, not if the pro crime Hispanics and their supporters have
anything to say about it!
"The US Border Patrol and Border Police are Out Gunned, Out Manned and Facing an Enemy with Technological Superiority Over Them!": You knew illegals were coming into the USA daily, but did you know that down in Mexico they are literally being brought up to the border by the train load? The report has the pictures to prove it!

Trains from Central America and Mexico en route
to the U.S. border

Wild Thing sent some more jarring photos of our uninvited and unwelcome and undocumented "guests"- and no, these are not crazy Halloween costumes:

If you think illegal immigration is nothing more than "good hard-working people, with good intentions" sneaking in here for a little harmless Trick-or-Treat, then these posts from some of the strongest contributors to Guard the Borders will convince you of the ghoulish truth.
Many thanks to Third World County, Mr. Ogre, Freedom Folks, PC Free Zone, and the Independent Conservative.
This has been a production of the Guard the Borders Blogburst. It was started by Euphoric Reality, and serves to keep immigration issues in the
forefront of our minds as we're going about our daily lives and continuing to fight the war on terror. If you
are concerned with the trend of illegal immigration facing our country, join our Blogburst! Just send an email with your blog name and url to admin at guardtheborders dot com.

Also Army at Argghhh!!!
Navy go to Chaotic Synaptic Activity
Air Force fly over to OP FOR
But it would also be nice if you also give to the Marines. I mean who doesn't just love the Marines.
Dates: From October 30th until November 10th (a day rich with significance for many reasons, not the least of which is that on that day in 1775 the United States Marine Corps was founded by the Continental Congress) Theodore's World or also known as PC Free Zone will carry the battle colors for the Project Valour IT Marine Corps fundraising team.
What is Project Valour IT all about, you might ask?
It's grateful Americans, providing laptops with voice-activated software for severely wounded troops. The story behind this project is a moving one:
Project Valour-IT began when Captain Charles "Chuck" Ziegenfuss was wounded by an IED while serving as commander of a tank company in Iraq in June 2005.
During his deployment he kept a blog. Captivating writing, insightful stories of his experiences, and his self-deprecating humor won him many loyal readers. After he was wounded, his wife continued his blog, keeping his readers informed of his condition.
As he began to recover, CPT Ziegenfuss wanted to return to writing his blog, but serious hand injuries hampered his typing. When a loyal and generous reader gave him a copy of the Dragon Naturally Speaking Preferred software, other readers began to realize how important such software could be to CPT Ziegenfuss' fellow wounded soldiers and started cast about for a way to get it to them.
A fellow who writes under the pseudonym FbL contacted Captain Ziegenfuss and the two realized they shared a vision of creating libraries of laptops with voice-controlled software that could be brought to the bedsides of wounded soldiers whose injuries prevented them from operating a standard computer. FbL contacted Soldiers' Angels, who offered to help develop the project, and Project Valour-IT was born.
In sharing their thoughts, CPT Ziegenfuss and FbL found that memories of their respective fathers were a motivating factor in their work with the project. Both continue their association with this project in memory of the great men in their lives whose fine examples taught them lasting lessons of courage and generosity.
If you're a blogger, you can sign up and join a team here. You will get button code so your readers can make a donation (see below) that will be credited to your team.
If you wish to donate, you can use the button below or the one in my sidebar, or send a check (with MARINES in all caps on it!) to:
Soldiers' Angels

* Post flyers around your neighborhood
* If you have any contacts in the media (local or national newspapers, radio, TV, PLEASE spread the word! Point them to the Project Valour IT site
Project Valour IT offers a way for us to tell them we have not forgotten their sacrifices, and that is truly priceless.
A little about my why
All the men in my family served in the military. My husband was in the Navy, as well as two of my Uncles Andrew and Greg. Another, Uncle Steve was Career Army. Then Uncle Ed and Uncle Alex were Air Force. Bringing in the Marines, my family had 5 that chose the Marine Corps. I wish I had photos of all of them but I only managed to get one on my last visit home.

This photo is Uncle John, he was a Marine all the way. Is there any other way to be? (big smile). He served in several wars, and lost his right arm and left left in the last one he was in (Vietnam).
Two of my Aunts also served as Nurses during WW11.
My Father was a baby during WW1 and just a tiny bit too old to serve during WW11. A year before Pearl Harbor, as my Father wrote in his company journal, his factory went to war. He wrote of the war clouds gathering and threatening the security of the United States. How the country began to plan for defense, a year before Pearl Harbor and how business owners and factory owners offered their factories to the government.
His words went on........." And then you know what happened? The day the bombs fell on Pearl Harbor, since that day boys were marching away. The service flags appearing in the windows on streets and seeing some of those stars in the flags turn to gold. I will never forget seeing these things. So our factory went to war. Our factory is one of the first in America to manufacture war goods, and I know others will follow. Our men and women had worked pridefully before, but when we turned the factory into helping in the war effort we all worked together for the lives of our sons and brothers because they depended on each piece we made. I could see the light shining in their eyes. I could see their hearts talking through their hands as those hands sped this new work.
It is magnificent, and thrilling, the amount of work the men and women in my factory are doing, all with such excellence, and an ever growing flow of war goods moving from our factory to our military that need what we have for them.
Harry and his wife Elma knowing what they do might be used by their son Eric. Pete and Susan thinking their son’s life too might be saved by what we are making here and how they are a part of it. So many of my employees having sons serving in this war. I want to always know each one of their names.
What a day it was opening the letter “ This is to inform you that the Army and Navy are conferring upon your organization the Army-Navy Production Award for high achievement in production of war equipment.” This was a letter to all of us, to share with all my employees.
And what a day it was, Army and Navy distinguished guests, a band and you all know how I love bands playing. The Army and Navy awarded this Flag. Everyone in the company looked up as the Flag hoisted up the staff. Tears in all of our eyes and pride welling up in our hearts. And the men and women that did all the work I know they were proudest of all, I know I was proudest in them. It was a grim sort of pride though, hard to explain really, a pride that seemed to say “ you think what we did was fine, just watch what our boys are going to do.” And we will keep on making war goods until victory and peace are won. And then we’ll start again the work we put aside to go to war."

My Father is the one with the red heart above him.The Army - Navy E pennant was received by my Father along with all the employees at a celebation that day. Brig. Gen. Donald Armstrong presented the E banner to the entire company.
I tell you these things because all the branches are important not just to me, but to all of us. They all make a difference and all our Veterans from every branch are why I live in the land of the free. Our troops today need our support and how could we not be there for them when they are always there for us 24/7.
I chose the Marines to support in Project Valour IT because of Uncle John. I wish they had this for him when he was injured. Let's not let those in today's war be like Uncle John that could have used something so wonderful like Project Valour IT.

True Grifters Bill and Hillary Clinton Fail At Birthday Money Grabbing Bash

Americans snub invitation to pay $500,000 for Clinton birthday party
Oct. 28th
When America's liberal elite were offered the chance to pay up to $500,000 each (about £260,000) to attend Bill Clinton's 60th birthday extravaganza tonight - with the added promise of a private Rolling Stones concert - a packed house was expected.
Wife Hillary and daughter Chelsea sent out about 10,000 invitations to Hollywood tycoons, movie stars, captains of industry and Wall Street - with all proceeds to go to the former President's charitable foundation.
Those who pledged the top price were promised the 'Birthday Chair Package', with the best seating for the concert as well as a chance to have photographs taken with Mr Clinton during a round of golf and a three-day series of cocktail, brunch and dinner parties.
The minimum price, with inferior concert seats and no brunch, was set at $60,000 (£31,000). But with many rich Democrats sending their regrets, The Mail on Sunday can reveal that last Wednesday the Clintons drastically slashed prices to $12,500 (£6,500) for one reception and the concert, or $5,000 (£2,600) for just the Stones.
With the looming possibility of Bill and his long-suffering wife and daughter finding themselves amid a sea of empty chairs at the 2,900-seat Manhattan venue, tickets then went on sale to the public for as little as $1,710 (£900).
And there is a danger that the Clintons' plans may end in a total fiasco, after the Stones cancelled Friday's show in Atlantic City when Mick Jagger complained of a sore throat and was ordered to rest by a doctor.
The supergroup has flown to New York in preparation for today's concert but an insider said it was too soon to know whether Jagger will be fit enough to perform.
A friend of the Clintons said last night: "It is all highly embarrassing for Bill and Hillary. When they created the idea, they thought it would go like wildfire. What's not going to please some who did come up with $500,000 is finding regular Stones fans there who got last-minute tickets on the internet."
A spokesman for the Stones insisted it was always intended that the public could attend and that some seats were left unsold because director Martin Scorsese is making a film about the band. He said: "Scorsese didn't know where he wanted to put the cameras. It wasn't until that was decided that the unfilled seats could be put on sale."
Mr Clinton's Press spokesman declined to comment.

Wild Thing's comment........
Hahahahaha Love news like this. heh heh
The article says Bill's birthday, but Hillary's is October 26th. Maybe because donating huge sums of money for Hillary's birthday there might be some ethical issues, since she is a sitting senator and all, so they call it Bill's birthday.
I'm betting this embarrassing bit of news on the Clintons does not get covered by media.

Poll Shows Muslims Support Democrats

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) released a poll of 1,000 registered Muslim voters in the United States it said showed the community has changed a great deal since 2000. In 2000, Muslims voted for George W. Bush, but they switched to support the Democrats in 2004 to protest the anti-Muslim policies by the Bush administration.
“Bush keeps saying Islam is a ‘religion of peace,’” said Iham Aklohd, a poll respondent from Washington, DC. “We are warriors for Allah. We are not ‘turn-the-other-cheek’ pansies. He has defamed us. Now the Republicans must pay.”
Aklohd emphasized that it was not only Bush’s words of disrespect that has Muslims riled.
“Bush is interfering with our religious outreach efforts,” Aklohd said. “His spies listen-in on our phone conversations. His troops kill our Muslim brothers.”
Many poll respondents expressed confidence that Democrats would be more respectful of the ways of Islam. “We don’t hear Democrats insisting Islam is a religion of peace,” said Mohamed Nifhim, a poll respondent from Michigan. “They aren’t demanding we yield to decadent western values.”
“Unbelievers are enemies of God,” said Ibak Mohron, a Saudi here on a student visa. “There must be no interference with our struggle against them.” Mohron said he will be voting for Democrats in November because “they accept our right to live by our own values. They will disband the troops. They will stop the American government from fighting on the side of Satan.”
Future Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) welcomed the poll results.
“This is just one more piece of evidence showing that Americans are ready for a change from the failed policies of the Republicans,” Pelosi said.

Wild Thing's comment........
Yep, the suicidal love affair our liberals have with these serial killers will pay off in votes. As for me the Democrats can have the votes of the Muslims, I could care less, and I certainly am not surprised.

American Mosques and Islamists
85% of American Mosques are Controlled by Islamic Extremists

Wild Thing's comment......
I like Cavuto and I thought it was interesting what Peter King had to say. I wish we could get rid of the mosques, I know we can't, but I do believe they are a being used to teach hate, and one day our country will pay a terrible price for all the PC that is allowed regarding Islam in our Nation.

' Free Saddam or else...'

29/10/2006 17:19 - (SA)
Amman - Saddam Hussein's defence team has drafted a letter to US President George W Bush warning of dire consequences if an Iraqi court issues a verdict against the ousted Iraqi president for crimes against humanity.
In a copy of the letter received by AFP in Jordan on Sunday, lead Iraqi lawyer Khalil al-Dulaimi also urged Bush to set free Saddam and put an end to the trial which he described again as illegal and a farce.
"We believe that it is necessary to stop this farcical trial and set free President Saddam Hussein, and all the prisoners, because this is the only solution for your troops and your difficult position in Iraq," Dulaimi said.
"This is also the best way for the future of Iraq, the region and the world," he added.
He warned that a verdict by the Iraqi High Tribunal against Saddam and seven co-defendants over the killing of 148 Shi'ite villagers in the Iraqi village of Dujail could plunge Iraq and the region into violence. The villagers were executed after a 1982 attempt to kill Saddam.
"This decision will set ablaze anew the country and plunge the entire region into the unknown...," he said.
The Iraqi lawyer, who heads the Amman-based defence team, said the verdict due by the court was timed to coincide with US Congressional elections.
"There is an unfair decision that has already been taken by the court to eliminate President Saddam Hussein in time with the US Congressional elections, through which the US administration seeks to safeguard its position," he said.
Dulaimi also told Bush: "You will risk your troops who have lost control over Iraq and you will place in danger your interests and the security of the region."

Wild Thing's comment.....
Hmmmmm, so let's see now. Back on October 6th 2006, just a few weeks ago, we heard how loather of America Ramsey Clark said.....Saddams Death Will Unleash 'catastrophic' Violence. More on that at found at this post here at Theodore's World.
And now Saddam's lead Iraqi lawyer Khalil al-Dulaimi and his letter he drafter. My goodness, my knees are shaking from all these doom and gloom threats, the sky will surely fall if Saddam is punished for his crimes apparently.
He sounds just like that Muslim doctor I used to work with. He also sounds a lot like the Democrats, " we never should have gone into Iraq", " we should have left Saddam in power", and on and on.
What a bunch of bunk! OH how I wish these lawyers had a website, one that I could post at and tell them just what I think about them and their Saddam.

Words That Carry the Weight of the Cost of Freedom

I can never forget this speech by keynote speaker Sen. Zell Miller (dem. Georgia) at the 2004 Republican National Convention. It gave me goozebumps!
With all the hate and all the attacks on our troops, I just felt a need to play this right now. We have an election coming that if we don't win our country may very well see another destructive future like the one that Bill and Hillary gave us during their 8 yeras of treason and crimes.
Please Click HERE to hear Sen. Zell Miller's speech once again if you like.

Iranian Cleric Campaigns for Democrats

Cleric:
US Republicans in Crisis
TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)-
Tehran's interim Friday Prayers Leader Seyed Ahmad Khatami stressed that the savage and devilish performance of the US President George W Bush has placed Republicans in a very critical condition.
Addressing a large fervent congregation of the worshippers on Tehran University Campus today, Khatami noted the upcoming US Congress elections and the decisive role that the election results will play on the next presidential elections in that country, and said:
"The savage and devilish acts and performances of Bush, as a Republican, have placed his party in a very critical condition."
He pointed to the heavy casualties sustained by the US army in Iraq as a further factor deteriorating the Republicans' stand on the political scene of the United States, and continued:
"To shrink the crisis, the US administration will certainly try to project its problems on others in the coming days, but they must know that allegations about the intervention of Iran and Syria in Iraq's domestic affairs may not solve their problems."
The cleric stressed that the only move helping the US administration to escape its present crisis is unconditional withdrawal from Iraq.
Elsewhere, he noted the United States' conspiracy for encountering the people in such Islamic states as Lebanon, Iraq and Palestine, and added:
"They seek to confuse the world of Islam so that the main enemy, i.e. the Zionist regime, is no longer the focus of concern. And we can unfortunately observe that in some states they have gained some success in this regard as some Lebanese statesmen are apparently unaware of the depth of the US plot."
Elaborating on what he termed to be the United States' Hypocrisy, Khatami mentioned:
"On one hand they pretend to support the Iraqi government and on the other hand they seek to undermine the position and performance of that government. They chant many slogans about their fight against terrorism, but they, meantime, meet terrorists and order them to kill as many Iranians and Shiites as they can in Iraq."
He also referred to the US plot in Afghanistan, and stressed that Washington is seeking to make a deal with the extremist groups in that country, warning that the US is prepared to victimize everyone in case its interests so require.
This week's interim Friday Prayers Leader of Tehran also stated that the US Secretary of State has come to visit the region in a bid to fill all the regional states with the feeling of intimidation about Iran.
He reminded that the Islamic Republic of Iran has never aggressed against any other country in the last 27 years despite its military power, and addressing the neighboring states, said:
"You must know that Iran is like your powerful brother who will certainly help you whenever you are in crisis."
He also warned Iran's neighboring states that the US is just seeking to loot their wealth and oil.
In another part, of his second sermon, Khatami pointed to Iran's nuclear issue and reminded that Tehran is not seeking anything beyond its rights, and further dismissed the UN Security Council resolutions on Iran, saying that the freedom-seeking nations of the world will not at all heed such resolutions.
He also reminded that the western countries have stopped negotiations and referred Iran's case to the UNSC while both Iran's top nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani and EU Foreign Policy Chief Javier Solana have described their four rounds of talks as constructive.
"Western countries should know that Iran favors negotiations," the cleric pointed out, adding that imposition of sanctions on Iran has never yielded any benefits for the western states in the last 27 years.
He advised the West to give up their present approach and policy of threat, warning that they will have to sustain more losses than Iran in case they embark on imposing sanctions on Tehran.

Wild Thing's comment......
OH really, hard to tell if this is a Democrat speaking or this Iranian cleric! Not much difference, maybe Harry Reid wrote his script for him. Or Michael Moore, gosh there are so many we could pick from that are Democrats that easily could have been this cleric's writter. hahaha
Go ahead Seyed Ahmad Khatami and sound off all you want, we are used to this kind of bull. But we must let you know we have heard a lot better and some with much more passion in their delivery. You might want to throw in a little of the Howard Dean tactics of yelling and a few praise Allah's to top it off. And oh yes, don't forget using the word fight, fight, fight, that is a favorite of the Dems. They always add in how they will fight for us. hahaha

The Father-son Bond of Dick and Rick Hoyt
Wild Thing's comment..........
I have always loved the stories of the human spirit. There is truly nothing that can beat it. I guess that is one of the reasons I am such a huge supporter of our military too. The human spirit that rises in a soul to want to serve our country. That voice inside a person that says, make a difference in this world as much as you can no matter how big or small, but make a difference. Give back to a country that you love, carry on the fight for our freedom that others before have fought for and paid the highest price to make it possible.
This story is another story of the human spirit. The love of a Father for his son. The bond a Father has with his son and what they do together as a team.
I had not heard of this family till one of my friends in the Cotillion, Romeocat, shared a video of them. My heart was touched so much, tears streaming down my face and my heart bursting with such pride in how love carries any of us to the greatest lengths we never dreamed we could do.
Here is just a small part of the story from HERE
Dick and Rick Hoyt are a father-and-son team from Massachusetts who together compete just about continuously in marathon races. And if they’re not in a marathon they are in a triathlon — that daunting, almost superhuman, combination of 26.2 miles of running, 112 miles of bicycling, and 2.4 miles of swimming. Together they have climbed mountains, and once trekked 3,735 miles across America. At Rick’s birth in 1962 the umbilical cord coiled around his neck and cut off oxygen to his brain. Dick and his wife, Judy, were told that there would be no hope for their child’s development.
"It’s been a story of exclusion ever since he was born," Dick told me. "When he was eight months old the doctors told us we should just put him away — he’d be a vegetable all his life, that sort of thing. Well those doctors are not alive any more, but I would like them to be able to see Rick now."
When the computer was originally brought home, Rick surprised his family with his first "spoken" words. They had expected perhaps "Hi, Mom" or "Hi, Dad." But on the screen Rick wrote "Go Bruins." The Boston Bruins were in the Stanley Cup finals that season, and his family realized he had been following the hockey games along with everyone else. "So we learned then that Rick loved sports," said Dick.
Here is their story
Thank you......

Lynn Cheney in CNN sitdown, slapdown: Do you want Amercia to win??????
CHENEY: You made a point last night of a man who had a bookstore in London where radical islamists gathered. Who was in Afghanistan when the Taliban were there. Who went to Pakistan. You know, I think that you might be a little careful before you declare this as a person with clean hands.
WOLF: You are receiving to the CNN "Broken Government" special. This is the one John King reported on last night.
CHENEY: Right there, Wolf. 'Broken Government.' What kind of stance is that? Here we are. We are a country where we have been mightily challenged over the past six years. We've been through 9/11, we've been through Katrina. The president and the vice president inherited a recession. We are in a country where the economy is healthy. That's not broken. This government has acted very well. We have tax cuts responsible for the healthy economy. We are a country that was attacked five years ago. We haven't been attacked since. What this government has done is effective. That's not broken government. So, you know, I shouldn't let media bias surprise me, but I worked at CNN once. I watched a program last night.
WOLF: You worked on CROSSFIRE.
CHENEY: ...And i was troubled.
WOLF: All right. Well that was probably the purpose, to get people to think. To get people to discuss these issues. Because --
CHENEY: Well, all right. Wolf, I'm here to talk about my book. But if you want to talk about distortion --
WOLF: We'll talk about your book.
CHENEY: Right, but what is CNN doing? Running terrorist tape of terrorists shooting Americans. I mean, I thought [Rep.] Duncan Hunter asked you a very good question, and you didn't answer it. Do you want us to win?
WOLF: The answer of course is we want the United States to win. We are Americans. There's no doubt about that.
CHENEY: Then why are you running terrorist propaganda?
WOLF: Well all do respect, this is not terrorist propaganda.
CHENEY: Oh, wolf.
WOLF: This is reporting the news. Which is what we do, we are not partisan.
CHENEY: Where did you get the film?
WOLF: We got the film, look, this is an issue that has been widely discussed. This is an issue we reported on extensively. We make no apologies for showing that. That was a very carefully-considered decision why we did that. And I think, I think --
CHENEY: Well I think it's shocking.
WOLF: If you are a serious journalist, you want to report the news. Sometimes the news is good, sometimes the news isn't so good.
CHENEY: But wolf, there's a difference between news and terrorist propaganda.

Wild Thing's comment.......
God bless Lynn Cheney! I am so proud of her, so very proud!!!
I hope we see more and more of this. CNN needs to be brought down to their knees ( at least that) if not worse! Blitzer is a worthless POS.
Wolf Blitzer is not a journalist. Like most other on-screen personalities at CNN he is a copy reader--an actor with enough literacy to read news copy written by wire services or rewritten by CNN writers from newspaper copy. "Broadcast journalism" is, with few exceptions, an oxymoron. His partisan, political hit piece on the Bush administration just prior to an election demonstrates how corrupt he is. Blitzer has the ethics of a crab louse.

You know you have been in Iraq to long when......

Subject: You Know You have been in Iraq to long when........
from some of the troops in country
When mortars land near your compound and you roll over in bed and think "still way off, I got another 5 minutes"
When you start humming with the Arabic song playing on the radio on the shuttle bus
You walk an extra 6 blocks to eat at the KBR dining facility to have the exact same food they are serving in your dining facility because you think it tastes better
You actually volunteer for convoy security duty because you still haven't seen the country yet
You start picturing your wife in traditional Arab dress
The contractors have more fire power than the military combat units. (This is true)
You take the time to add your lines to this list
You've spent $200 dollars at Haji mart on dvds buying Basic Instinct, 9 and ½ weeks, and Body of Evidence just for the sex scenes
You drink the water from the tap because you want to drop 20 pounds in two weeks
Driving around in SUVs with weapons pointed out the windows and forcing cars off the road seems very normal
to you
You can put your body armor and helmet on in the dark in under 5 seconds
When the organization you work for has changed its name more than 3 times
When you can actually talk to people in the United States on a cell phone, yet you can't get people on their cell phone a block away
When you actually spend more time writing e-mail about the dog in the compound versus how to conduct the
fight in Najaf
Your idea of a fun Thursday night is to go to the Palace pool to watch the State Department folks get drunk, naked and try to pick each other up
When you actually get excited to get a package that contains 3 pair of socks, 12 bars of soap and a Victoria Secret
Catalog
When you start to enjoy the rocking of the trailer every time the MEDEVAC choppers fly over
You memorized every episode from the 4th Season of Sex in the City
You enjoy the audience commentary while watching a movie bought at Haji mart
You see celebratory fire going over the compound at night and think, "wow the colors are so pretty" and want to fire back
Your thinking of buying real estate in the green zone
You wake up and think Baghdad, I am still in friggin Baghdad
You make the new guy show you his count down timer just to make you feel better about your time you have left in country
You're in the Army and you start saying Ooorah
You're in the Marines and you start saying Hooah
You're in the Navy and you realize you are in the middle of the desert, the exact opposite of being in
the middle of the ocean, where one might normally find the Navy.
You're in the Air Force, and you're on the plane home because an Air Force tour is too short to have been a long Iraq tour. Ignore this list, zoomie, you won't get it.
You only notice the stench of Haji funk when its not there
You plan on removing all trees and grass in your yard when you get home so it will look more natural
You forget there are other colors than brown that can be found in places other than power point slides
The temp drops down to 102 degrees and you shiver while reaching for your Gortex jacket
You have noticed a change of season, from long, hot and dry to short, cold and wet.
When you go on R&R, you duct tape your child to the roof of your car, hand him a pellet rifle, and
assign him a sector of fire for the ride to "The Olive Garden."
When you can comfortably shave and brush your teeth using bottled water, but don't mind showering in the "non-potable" local water.
While on R&R, you look out the window and find Nature, which leads you to wonder who stole your sandbags.
When some of the contractors wear their DCUs more properly than some of your soldiers.
When 12 hours is a short work day
you go Battle Captains!
When, During the BUA, "DIV asked MNSTC-I for the FRAGO that MNC-I was supposed to publish, but couldn't because MNF-I hadn't weighed in, since they were too inundated with MOD and MOI war-gaming the JCCs
within the ISF to square us away!" is a valid comment and generates no
questions.
When you start using words like G'day mate, Cheers, and Bloody hell as part of your normal vocabulary
When you have your opinions printed in the STARS and STRIPES more than 3 times
When the palace catches fire and instead of helping to put it out you grab a bag of marshmallows and start roasting
When you step into any office and there are 6 colonels, 12 lieutenant colonels, 15 majors, and 8 captains supervising the work of 1 sergeant
When you end every phone conversation with "Out"
When you're ordered to get an air mission together on short notice because it's a "Hot priority" only to have the Major call back once he is in the air to ask "Does anyone know where I am going?"
When the weapon buyback program has become so successful that you have issued the same AK-47 to the
Iraqi army 3 times
When you can actually tell the difference between the sound of an exploding car and an exploding
mortar
When on R & R you tell your wife that your weapon status is Red and your looking for the clearing barrel
When on R&R you go to Church and wonder why no one is wearing body armor or carrying an automatic weapon to the service
You see an indirect fire attack take out a generator and get angry at the enemy for not hitting the
one that powers your computer
You see an indirect fire attack take out an air conditioner and your vigor to fight is renewed
You yell at the FNG for shouting incoming when the rounds don't impact close enough to hit your tent with dirt
You know that you need to run inside immediately after any win of an Iraqi sports team to keep from being hit by celebratory fire
You decide for that for shits and grins - lets take a run around Lost Lake at Camp Victory to see if we can get shot at by the sniper
You never worry about oversleeping because if the morning call to prayers doesn't wake you, the daily 0430 mortar attack will (most mornings)
The highlight of your shopping experience at the PX is to see that they got in a new shipment of Schick Tracer razor blades
When you send out your laundry and your whites become grayer, your blacks become grayer and your
DCU's become grayer - makes it easier to sort loads...
You get offended by people wearing clean, pressed DCU's
You decide that it is a better course of action to pull your blankets over your head than put on your body armor during a mortar attack - the woobee will save you and at least you are comfortable
You make a contest out of seeing who can wear their uniform for more days before becoming entirely
disgusted with themselves
You wonder if the fish served at dinner really was carp caught out of the Tigris or Camp Victory's lake
A rocket or a mortar really isn't a big deal until the crater it leaves is big enough to trip over in the dark on the way to the latrine
You go to a social gathering and intermittent gun fire or explosions don't even cause a pause in the
conversation

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad ~ Yadda Yadda Get New Writers

Iranian President Ahmadinejad:
"The West Should Pick Up the Zionist Regime ‘By the Arms and Legs’ and Remove It from the Region; U.N. Resolutions Are Illegitimate; America & England are Enemies of the Iranian Nation"
From the article:
The following are excerpts from an address delivered by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, which aired on Jaam-e Jam 1 TV on October 20, 2006. In the address, Ahmadinejad stated that the U.S. was extorting the entire world using the Holocaust as a pretext and that the West was being held hostage by "the Zionists" by means of the Holocaust, and instructed it to pick up "the Zionist regime by the arms and legs, and remove it" from the Middle East. He further claimed that the U.N. Security Council and its resolutions were illegitimate and that "the whole world knows that America and England are the enemies of the Iranian nation."

Our Military Takes A Stand and Fights Back!
Wild Thing's comment.......Enough is enough! After all the bad press and slanderous news, untrue news the U.S. Department of Defense is standing tall and has created a website called For The Record.............................
October 27, 2006: The U.S. Department of Defense is now taking its requests for corrections public through a website known as For the Record. Here, the Department of Defense is openly calling for corrections from major media outlets, and even noting when they refuse to publish letters to the editor.
The Defense Department has been dealing with a number of misleading stories. From Newsweek's misreporting of a Koran-flushing incident (caused by a detainee, not guards as reported by Newsweek), to claims of prisoner mistreatment (often without context, including one instance where a detainee spat on an interrogator), to a massive rewriting of an embedded reporter's report on the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment's efforts in Tal Afar, by editors of Time magazine, to the revelations about NSA efforts, the DOD has been barraged by numerous stories, many of which were followed by angry editorials.
The DOD is pushing back, not only putting out requests to correct the record (with the refusals published as well), but also citing stories of heroes that the media has failed to cover – usually two or three a week. Among these are accounts of those who have been awarded medals for battlefield bravery, like Navy Cross recipients Robert J. Mitchell Jr. and Bradley A. Kasal, as well as Silver Star recipients Juan M. Rubio, Sarun Sar, Jeremy Church, and Leigh Ann Hester. The DOD has also followed CENTCOM's lead in running pieces on what terrorists actually say – another item largely ignored by the mainstream media.
The Department of Defense is acting in an effort to avoid a repeat of the aftermath of the 1968 Tet Offensive. On the battlefield, American and South Vietnamese forces won a victory – effectively destroying the Viet Cong and crippling North Vietnamese forces in South Vietnam. However, media misreporting, including Walter Cronkite's famous mischaracterization of the war as a "stalemate", took away the victory that had been won on the battlefield. Such a scenario is less likely now, largely due to the presence of the internet (including blogs), talk radio, and other news networks – and the Department of Defense is taking advantage of alternative ways to get around the mainstream media.
Wild Thing's comment.......
I am so excited about this, and so proud of our military for doing this......

UC Irvine's Campus
Once a sleepy suburban university, UCI has joined the ranks of Columbia University and UC Berkeley as a hotbed of anti-Zionism. The situation has become so tense that the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights — in reaction to a complaint filed by the conservative Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) — is investigating allegations of anti-Jewish harassment at UCI and administration indifference.
The latest attack happened the weekend of October 8, a student housing building was defaced with swastikas.
So what happened, how was this taken care of?
The Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs Manuel Gomez held a meeting. And this is what he said:
"Some of the Jewish students at the meeting revealed that they and others had been subject to verbal and physical intimidation at the hands of MSU members, and that they had previously reported these claims to campus security. In light of this, some students asked that Drake place restrictions on where MSU events are held, saying that if their events were held in classrooms as opposed to public spaces, their effect would not be as broad. However, Chancellor Drake told Jewish students at the meeting that he cannot restrict any club, that it would be “violation of law to prohibit certain speech.” Gomez emphasized that though hate speech may be present, he would not seek to curtail it, as “one person’s hate speech is another person’s education.”
Amir Abdel Malik Ali at UC Irvine 10/05/2006
"Every time we fought in the name of Allah, we always won... we are not afraid of THEM".
More than a dozen Jewish student leaders met with Chancellor Michael Drake and Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs Manuel Gomez on Wednesday, October 18 to discuss the recent anti-Semitic vandalism here amidst a broader discussion about how Jewish students feel they are treated. This meeting marked the first time that the chancellor met with Jewish students about their concerns over the atmosphere on campus since his installation 15 months ago.
The students present expressed their displeasure regarding the current tense situation on campus between Muslim and Jewish students and the recent vandalism.
“I hate that things like this happen,” Drake responded, acknowledging that there has been speech on campus promoted by the Muslim Student Union (MSU) that is largely hateful. Drake called hate-speech “vile,” “awful,” and “stupid,” and said it is “weak” human beings who engage in such speech. The chancellor also asserted that hateful speech does absolutely nothing to promote understanding and tolerance.
Many Jewish students at the meeting blamed the Muslim Student Union for creating an environment in which hate speech can prosper, which they felt had a direct connection to the vandalism.
Some of the Jewish students at the meeting revealed that they and others had been subject to verbal and physical intimidation at the hands of MSU members, and that they had previously reported these claims to campus security. In light of this, some students asked that Drake place restrictions on where MSU events are held, saying that if their events were held in classrooms as opposed to public spaces, their effect would not be as broad.
However, Chancellor Drake told Jewish students at the meeting that he cannot restrict any club, that it would be “violation of law to prohibit certain speech.”
Gomez emphasized that though hate speech may be present, he would not seek to curtail it, as “one person’s hate speech is another person’s education.”
Drake stated that it is not in the power of the University of California to prohibit speech on campus in any fashion because it would be against the constitutional rights of individuals.
Students at the meeting pointed to the fact that there have been threats, verbal and physical, and that the university should do more in order to ensure the safety of Jewish students. I invited Drake to come to AFI events and other Jewish events, and he said that he would plan to attend a Shabbat dinner, and speak at an AFI event.
Jewish leaders on campus left the meeting with mixed feelings. On one hand, it is clear to the Jewish community that the administration is attempting to be supportive and helpful. On the other hand, many students worry that, as happened here, UCI personnel will take action only after students are directly and obviously targeted, as opposed to confronting the growing problem before such results occur.
And who is this Amir Abdel Malik Ali??
Rabidly anti-Israel, anti-Semitic public speaker whose presentations consist of fiirebrand rhetoric and openly hostile speech
Lectures on college campuses and at Muslim Student Association events
He is openly hostile to Jews, he is also a strong supporter of an Islamic revolution in the United States. He is clear about the strategy for implementing it.
"From an Islamic movement we graduate to an Islamic revolution, then to an Islamic state. . . . We must implement Islam as a totality" in which "Allah controls every place -- the home, the classroom, the science lab, the halls of Congress."
Malik-Ali views all non-Muslim entities, anywhere in the world, as barriers preventing the spread of Islam. He supports the violent uprising of Muslims as a necessary action. In July 1999, Malik-Ali was an organizer and speaker at an event in San Francisco that praised Hamas and its actions.
He is also part of the Al-Masjid movement which is dedicated to creating an Islamic movement in the U.S.

Wild Thing's comment...........
Sure that makes sense, wait till someone is killed then do something about it. True there is freedom of speech, but sheesh I can't be in a movie theater and yell fire, I can't say out loud so others would hear me....I have a nice little bomb in my purse when boarding an airplane. There is a line that should not be crossed when it comes to our freedoms, being responsible for one thing, and certainly not promoting hate and violence.
But then these kinds of speeches come from the terrorists (the moderate Muslims aka the terrorists wanna be's) so apparently it is OK to do such things.
And they can all laugh at us as they USE our laws against us.
God Help us!!
I say it is NOT ok. It is dangerous!

70-year-old ex-SAS Soldier Tackles Four Muggers and Wins
.............
70-year-old ex-SAS soldier dares to tackle four muggers and wins
The Daily Mail
A 70-year-old former British soldier who fought guerillas in Aden and Triad gangs in Hong Kong showed four muggers how it doesn't pay to mess with the SAS.
Douglas O'Dell is past retirement age but the moves he learned as a volunteer in Britain's toughest regiment half-a-century ago stood him in good stead when he was ambushed near his home in Bielefeld, Germany, by four local toughs.
The former Provost Sergeant put paid to the danger on the street like he once took out bandits in hotspots across the globe.
THWACK! The first mistake came when one of the teenagers grabbed him around the throat and said in German:
"Give my your money, grandad, if you don't want to get hurt."
"Bad move," said Douglas. "The only part he got right was grandad. If you're gonna grab someone from behind take their arms and pin them to their waist.
"This joker, I was able to grab his elbow, crouch down and throw him over my shoulder. He landed on his back on a fence and squealed like a stuck pig."
CRASH! As one went down another moved in and Douglas thought he saw him reaching for a knife. The Birmingham-born divorcee, who has a daughter and three grandchildren, said:
"I had the measure of him but I slipped on some wet leaves as he came for me and bashed my face badly on the concrete.
"I saw his boot coming towards my face and I thought: 'No you don't, sunshine.' I grabbed his leg and twisted it until he too was screaming out in agony.
"Then I got to my feet and kicked him in the chest."
With two down the two remaining would-be muggers had enough. One peeled his groaning pal from the fence, the other picked up his crippled accomplice from the pavement.
"The last I saw of them they were limping down the pavement like a WW1 trench raiding party who got clobbered," said Douglas.
Douglas, who served nearly nine years with the Royal Warwickshire Regiment before leaving the army in the late 1950s, learned his combat moves when he was accepted for SAS training.
He completed the course and was to join the famous regiment when he contracted malaria and had to leave the army.
"I was upset at the time but I made the best of it. It's funny, but I never thought I would need to know that stuff again, the unarmed combat, but it came back just when I needed it."
The youths ambushed him just 60 feet from the flat he lives in in the British Army garrison town he has called home since 1961.
He went on:
"The police only became involved because I went to the hospital with my face. Otherwise I wouldn't have bothered. They didn't get anything – except a bloody good hiding.
"They were German, I think east Germans, from their accent. There have been a lot of break-ins in my road.
"I just didn’t think this would happen to me. I was only returning from a pal's place after drinking a few beers."
Douglas, who spent three years as a policeman in Birmingham before returning to Germany to live after his marriage ended, shares his flat with a mongrel dog called Schnuffi.
He still works, as a delivery driver, "because my pension isn't very good."
Police in Bielefeld are still looking for his attackers.
But a spokesman said: "He had everything under control. These guys picked the wrong guy on the wrong night."
The Special Air Service (SAS) is the principal special forces organisation of the British Army. A small and secretive institution, it attracts a disproportionate amount of media coverage. The SAS was formed in 1941 to conduct raids behind German lines in North Africa, and today serves as a model for similar units fielded by other countries.
The SAS forms part of the United Kingdom Special Forces, alongside the Special Boat Service (SBS), Special Reconnaissance Regiment (SRR), and Special Forces Support Group (SFSG).

I loved this story, things like this make my heart smile.
It made me think of this:
TommyI went into a public-'ouse to get a pint o'beer,
The publican 'e up an' sez, "We serve no red-coats here."
The girls be'ind the bar they laughed an' giggled fit to die,
I outs into the street again an' to myself sez I:O it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "Tommy, go away";
But it's ``Thank you, Mister Atkins,'' when the band begins to play,
The band begins to play, my boys, the band begins to play,
O it's ``Thank you, Mr. Atkins,'' when the band begins to play.I went into a theatre as sober as could be,
They gave a drunk civilian room, but 'adn't none for me;
They sent me to the gallery or round the music-'alls,
But when it comes to fightin', Lord! they'll shove me in the stalls!For it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "Tommy, wait outside";
But it's "Special train for Atkins" when the trooper's on the tide,
The troopship's on the tide, my boys, the troopship's on the tide,
O it's "Special train for Atkins" when the trooper's on the tide.Yes, makin' mock o' uniforms that guard you while you sleep
Is cheaper than them uniforms, an' they're starvation cheap;
An' hustlin' drunken soldiers when they're goin' large a bit
Is five times better business than paradin' in full kit. Then it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "Tommy how's yer soul?"
But it's "Thin red line of 'eroes" when the drums begin to roll,
The drums begin to roll, my boys, the drums begin to roll,
O it's "Thin red line of 'eroes" when the drums begin to roll.We aren't no thin red 'eroes, nor we aren't no blackguards too,
But single men in barricks, most remarkable like you;
An' if sometimes our conduck isn't all your fancy paints:
Why, single men in barricks don't grow into plaster saints; While it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "Tommy, fall be'ind,"
But it's "Please to walk in front, sir," when there's trouble in the wind,
There's trouble in the wind, my boys, there's trouble in the wind,
O it's "Please to walk in front, sir," when there's trouble in the wind. You talk o' better food for us, an' schools, an' fires an' all:
We'll wait for extry rations if you treat us rational.
Don't mess about the cook-room slops, but prove it to our face
The Widow's Uniform is not the soldier-man's disgrace. For it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "Chuck him out, the brute!"
But it's "Saviour of 'is country," when the guns begin to shoot;
An' it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' anything you please;
But Tommy ain't a bloomin' fool - you bet that Tommy sees!- Kipling

Iraq PM Nouri al-Maliki Slams US Military

BAGHDAD, Iraq - U.S. and Iraqi forces on Wednesday raided Sadr City, the stronghold of the feared Shiite militia led by radical anti-American cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, but Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki disavowed the operation, saying he had not been consulted and insisting "that it will not be repeated."
The defiant al-Maliki also slammed the top U.S. military and diplomatic representatives in Iraq for saying Iraq needed to set a timetable to curb violence ravaging the country.
"I affirm that this government represents the will of the people and no one has the right to impose a timetable on it," al-Maliki said at a news conference.
The U.S. military said Iraqi army special forces, backed up by U.S. advisers, carried out a raid to capture a "top illegal armed group commander directing widespread death squad activity throughout eastern Baghdad," the military said in a statement.
Al-Maliki, who is commander in chief of Iraq's army, heatedly denied he knew anything about the raid:
"We will ask for clarification about what has happened in Sadr City. We will review this issue with the multinational forces so that it will not be repeated...

And this is the response from President Bush............
Bush warns Iraqis that American patience has limits
WASHINGTON (Reuters) -
President George W. Bush said on Wednesday American patience over Iraq had its limits but pledged not to put unbearable pressure on the country's leaders, after a protest by Iraq's prime minister.
"We're pressing Iraq's leaders to take bold measures to save their country. We're making it clear that American patience is not unlimited," Bush told a White House news conference.
Even so, he added, "We will not put more pressure on the Iraqi government than it can bear."
Bush said the United States remained committed to Iraq "until the job is done," but would adjust tactics to confront a changing enemy.
He voiced qualified confidence in Maliki. "We're with him as long as he continues to make tough decisions," Bush said.

Wild Thing's comment.......
The current PM is an appeaser to Muqtada al-Sadr. They probably did not notify Malki for fear his people would warn the militia of the impending attack and whomever was the target for the raid would dissappear.
SCREW YOU, Maliki. Everybody KNOWS the trouble in Baghdad stems from that festering hellhole called Sadr City. You'd better be glad we're not just flat out LEVELING it.
Stop sticking up for your Iranian buddies and LEAD this nation for which our troops have spilled their blood.
And don't give us that "will of the people" crap. Now get out of the way and let the U.S. and Iraqi forces do what has to be done to make this a stable country.
Oh, and SCREW IRAN AND MUQTADA AL SADR.

Power Hungry Dems Heads Spin Over San Francisco Fundraiser

Nancy Pelosi & Bill Clinton to Star in San Francisco 60s Flashback Fundraiser Week Before Election
Former President Bill Clinton, aiming to provide the critical boost to help the Democratic Party take back the House of Representatives, will headline a $1 million star-studded fundraiser in San Francisco just days before the election to raise cash for congressional races.
Clinton, among the party's top fund raisers, is scheduled to appear Nov. 1 at the Warfield Theater -- where he will be joined by Democratic Party backers and stars, including singer-songwriters Jackson Browne and Graham Nash for the event.
Rep. Nancy Pelosi of San Francisco, who is poised to become the first woman Speaker of the House if her party wins a House majority on Nov. 7, also is scheduled to appear. Pelosi and Rep. Rahm Emanuel of Illinois, a former top aide in the Clinton White House who now heads the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, which distributes money and advice to Democratic House candidates, are listed as the hosts for the event.
"It is important we be part of this conversation in California ... and we're trying to give the Democratic Party the resources they need to win,'' Steyer said. "This is a big chance for us. ... People (who) disagree with what's been going on in the country, starting with the Iraq war. It's an emotional reaction and we really want our voice listened to."
Clinton, said strategist Chris Lehane, is "the star of stars, who's coming out to the epicenter of blue America to help raise needed resources to make sure Democrats can take back the house and change the direction of the country.''

Wild Thing's comment......
I can see it now, the room filled with old hippies, with whatever grey cells are left in their brains from all the drugs they did in the 60's. I wonder if Peter, Paul and Mary will be there too. hahaha
Demcorats can't move forward if their life depended on it. Just like their ideas, they have none.

She went to Iraq to entertain the troops and some of her fans did not like it so she wrote this song for them.

Wild Thing's comment.......
Everone please listen to her song. You don't have to be an Aussie to appreciate the patriotism
God bless the Diggers. And God bless Australia. And God bless Beccy.
The Aussies are great and it was also wonderful to get to meet a few of them in Saigon.

CNN Totaly In Bed With Islamic Terrorists ~ DESPICABLE!!
Saturday October 21, 2006
Please scroll down for update to this post.
CNN aired a terrorist sniper killing a US soldier. They blacked out the screen when the bullet hit, but that did not stop the sound or description that they went on to share.
According to CNN, “The graphic video of 10 sniper attacks was obtained by CNN -- through intermediaries --from the Islamic Army of Iraq, one of the most active insurgent organizations in Iraq.”

Video on CNN shows snipers' chilling work in Iraq
(CNN) -- Chilling scenes from a videotape made by insurgents show the work of snipers in Iraq, targeting and killing American troops, taking them down with a single bullet from a high-powered rifle.
The graphic video of 10 sniper attacks was obtained by CNN -- through intermediaries -- from the Islamic Army of Iraq, one of the most active insurgent organizations in Iraq.
In one scene, U.S. soldiers mingle among Iraqi civilians on a city street as a U.S. Humvee with a gunner in its turret stands guard nearby.
From a distance, possibly hundreds of yards away, a sniper watches for his opportunity to strike as a fellow insurgent operates a camera to capture the video for propaganda purposes.
In the video, street sounds mix with male Arabic voices as the sniper and his spotter talk off-camera.
"People are around them," warns the spotter, who seems to be operating the video camera. "Want me to find another place?"
"No, no," comes the reply, "give me a moment."
And then, the crack of gunfire is heard and the soldier in the turret slumps forward.
"Allahu Akbar (God is Great)!" is the exclamation as the sniper's vehicle starts and they slip away.
The deadly tactic is one the U.S. military also uses to take out insurgents.
Retired Gunnery Sgt. Jack Coughlin was one of the top U.S. Marine Corps snipers in Iraq and has written a book about his experiences -- "Shooter: The Autobiography of the Top-Ranked Marine Sniper."
"I have over 60 kills," he told CNN's Gary Tuchman. "We seek out the enemy and eliminate them with precision fire."
Tuchman used Coughlin's critical eye to analyze the Islamic Army of Iraq video.
Coughlin said the time lapse between the sound of the shot and the man getting hit indicates the gunfire is coming from about 300 to 500 yards away and probably from a higher angle.
But Couglin said he's sure this team of at least three people has been trained well because they're so calm.
"They have their stuff wired," he said. "They know what they're doing." (Watch the ex-Marine describe snipers' deadly work -- 2:46)
The 20-year Marine veteran said the kind of body armor worn by troops in combat can be effective against a sniper's bullet, and he added that there are other ways to defend against the horrifying attacks.
"The worst enemy of a sniper is another sniper," Coughlin said. "Our snipers are hunting these guys -- I guarantee you this is happening as we speak."
Coughlin added that, in many cases, the best defense is a good offense.
UPDATE:
Lawmaker Outraged by Sniper Footage on CNN
SAN DIEGO — CNN has become "the publicist for an enemy propaganda film" by broadcasting a video showing an insurgent sniper in Iraq apparently killing an American soldier, the chairman of the House Armed Services Committee said here Friday.
Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-El Cajon) called for the Pentagon to oust any CNN reporter embedded with U.S. troops in Iraq.
"I think Americans like to think we're all in this together," Hunter said. "The average American Marine or soldier has concluded after seeing that film that CNN is not on their side."
Another UPDATE:
Armed Services Committee Chairman Calls For Removal of CNN’s Embedded Reporters
CNN recently aired videos supplied by terrorists inside Iraq showing snipers attacking American soldiers. As a result of this outrageous behavior, Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-California), chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, has asked for all of CNN’s reporters currently embedded with U.S. military units be removed.
The chairman of the House Armed Services Committee asked the Pentagon on Friday to remove CNN reporters embedded with U.S. combat troops, saying the network's broadcast of a video showing insurgent snipers targeting U.S. soldiers was tantamount to airing an enemy propaganda film. The tape, which came to the network through contact with an insurgent leader, was aired Wednesday night on "Anderson Cooper 360" and repeated Thursday.
The article continued:
In a letter to Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., wrote: "CNN has now served as the publicist for an enemy propaganda film featuring the killing of an American soldier."The letter was also signed by San Diego-area Republican congressmen Darrell Issa and Brian Bilbray.
"This is nothing short of a terrorist snuff film," Bilbray said at a press conference held in San Diego.
CNN officials defended their decision to air the footage. ( GRRRRRRRRRRRRR)
"Our responsibility is to report the news," said Laurie Goldberg, a CNN spokeswoman. "As an organization we stand by our decision and respect the rights of others to disagree with it."

Wild Thing's comment.......
Oust them is the least they should do, charge them with aiding and abetting the enemy with use of known propaganda, they have always been the terrorist sympathizer. In WW2 if if there had been a cable news services like CNN we might all be speaking German today.
Democrat mind set.......Americans too sensitive to see videos of 911 but not to see Muslims pigs shoots soldiers. These cowards were afraid to show the Danish cartoons, even though it was the biggest story in that news cycle. Even though the story was HUGE!
The terrorists went and created that video for the whole purpose of propagandizing their viewpoint. So what do the total dopes at CNN do, they BROADCAST it! One of CNN’s analysts called the sniper attacks the most effective thing they have seen. “The deadly tactic is one the U.S. military also uses to take out insurgents”, according to CNN. They seem be telling them how good they are at using our strategies to kill our men.
I haven't been this angry in a very long time. An American soldier died for these bastards' "news value." What "value" is that, precisely? What does CNN "value" that can excuse this utter moral degeneracy? Is it the sort of moral equivalency that sees no difference between the son of a bitch driving a car bomb into a crowd and the Marine who dies to try to stop him? Is it "all the same thing" when looked at from the lofty heights of an editorial desk in Atlanta? What sort of a sordid, miserable excuse for a human being could manage to justify this outrageous glorification of murder and have the spit-shined brass balls to try to pass it off as "news value"?
This is from one of the soldiers that is in country right now regarding the CNN embedded reporters.......
"I hated those weasly little bastards. They were a huge hindrence on patrol. One more unarmed idiot to have to look out for. They would do incredibly stupid stuff to get footage in a firefight. I finally told my guys not to provide covering fire for then any more. Just let the f***er get his ass shot. One of them had an AK round go clean through his camera. He could not stop shaking for about an hour. Inside, we were lauging our asses off at him."
Update: October 24, 2006

Legendary snipers became the role models. Snipers such as Gunnery Sgt. Carlos Hathcock, a Marine sniper in Vietnam with 98 confirmed kills, Sgt. 1st Class. Randy Shugart and Master Sgt. Gary Gordon, two Delta Force snipers, who died in Somalia in 1993 trying to rescue a downed crew of a MH-60 Black Hawk during the battle of Mogadishu.
As you know I am a big supporter of our military and when I started this blog one of the links I wanted to make sure I had in my sidebar was a place online called Americansnipers.org. It has been there since this blog began on September 21, 2005.
I am so pleased to see others supporting the efforts of the Americansnipers.org especially now after what CNN has done in their aiding the enemy with their showing of the video snuff film sent to them by the enemy. They just had to show it and not once but over and over again. We all wrote letters to CNN, phoned CNN (404-827-2600) and showed our disgust for what they have done and the stand they have taken to side with the enemy.
Here are some places at their site:
Letters and photos from our snipers
Two years ago I ordered this dog tag from Americansnipers.org. I keep it on my key chain. I loved it so much I ordered more to give as gifts to the troops in their care packages. I have ordered other things and donated, this is just one of the items they have.

It's About Me, Me, Meeeeeee Say Muslims Whine

NJ Muslim group tracking airport run-ins
A New Jersey Muslim group is launching a nationwide effort to record complaints about Muslims being wrongfully detained or questioned at airports to determine where the worst problem areas are.
The goal is not to file lawsuits, but to get to the source of problems and correct it, said Sohail Mohammed, a lawyer for the American Muslim Union.
The group is sending out forms via e-mail networks and to mosques around the country asking travelers to record as much information as they can about where, when and why they are questioned by authorities.
"It seems like people don't know whether they are interacting with the INS, the FBI, Homeland Security or whoever they just know someone stopped them," he said.
The group has received several complaints from Muslims using airports in New Jersey and New York that they were detained and questioned for hours when attempting to return to the country from abroad.
With the Muslim holy month of Ramadan drawing to an end this weekend, many travelers will want to make a pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia, known as the "hajj," that is required of all Muslims at least once in their lives.
"This is a huge travel time for Muslims and we don't want them to run into the same problems," Mohammed said.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's civil rights office, which deals with such complaints, did not return a call Friday seeking statistics on how many Muslims have filed complaints alleging wrongful detention at airports.
Abdin Aly, a Little Falls accountant, said he was detained and questioned for two hours at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport in September 2005 after returning from a trip to Egypt with his wife. He had briefly left the Frankfurt, Germany, airport to have dinner with a relative during a stopover there. He said authorities did not say whether his name appeared on a watch list.
"They wouldn't let me use the bathroom or use the telephone to call my son, who was waiting for me for two hours, wondering where I was and what was going on," he said. "It was ugly. At least this will bring awareness to officials about what's going on."

Wild Thing's comment......
I just don't get it, they are working overtime to make enemies when they could try to get along, try to fit in and appreciate living in the best country in the world. But nooooooooo, that would ease tensions, that would show that I might be wrong about them. Come on Muslims I dare you to prove me wrong when I say there are NO moderate Muslims.
It just never ends with these Muslims they want to have trouble, they want to complain and moan and whine. How about an organization FOR Muslims where they can send letters, make phone calls and get their outrage known of their being upset at the attacks on 9-11, the USS Cole and all the other attacks.
Oh nooooooooooo you mean they don't want to do that? You mean they don't have any outrage??? Wow, and I guess waiting for the fat lady to sing and ice to form in hell is out of the question too. Well double darn anyway.

High School Teacher's Campaign Against Israel

Written by Eric Danis:
Frontpage Magazine
I moved from Andover, Massachusetts to Israel over five years ago, so the day-to-day happenings in my hometown are largely off my radar screen. However, Andover High School (AHS) physics teacher Ron Francis, a former teacher of mine, first caught my attention when I saw an article he wrote in February of 2006. The article was entitled “Media Bias Against Hamas,”and was written in an attempt to support the Palestinian terror group Hamas and to demonize Israel.
Francis never once condemned Hamas’ terror tactics or its anti-Semitic ideology, and he even discussed the “silver lining” of Hamas’ victory. Francis challenged Israel’s right to exist in the article by complaining that “the question of the validity of a Jewish-priviledge state is never raised.” (It is interesting that a public school teacher apparently does not know how to correctly spell “privilege”).
Francis’ article was posted on the Website of the “Somerville Divestment Project” (SDP), a group he founded in Somerville, Massachusetts several years ago (Francis teaches in Andover but lives in Somerville). The SDP has been trying unsuccessfully for years to convince the city of Somerville to divest “from Israel bonds and military companies tied to Israel's occupation.” Needless to say, the SDP advocates boycott and divestment of one country in the entire world – the Jewish country of Israel.
The SDP’s Website is filled with hateful propaganda against Israel, and contains articles suggesting that the recent war in Iraq was fought because a cabal of powerful Jews manipulated the U.S. government.
One section of the SDP’s Website is entitled, “Iraq: A War for Israel?” This section contains the following quotation from Pat Buchanan:
“We charge them [neo-cons] with colluding with Israel to ignite those wars and destroy the Oslo Accords… (They) harbor a ‘passionate attachment’ to a nation not our own that causes them to subordinate the interests of their own country and to act on an assumption that, somehow, what's good for Israel is good for America."
Francis is not content to merely provide quotations of others bashing Israel and Jews. He has also perpetuated the anti-Semitic stereotype that Jews manipulate political process in America and control the media (although he is very careful to always write “zionists” – with a lowercase “z” to show his lack of respect – instead of “Jews”):
Despite always claiming to be a human rights activist, Francis was also quoted in the Andover Townsman newspaper as supporting Palestinian suicide bombers:
"I do not condemn the Palestinian people because the actions they are taking, given the circumstances they face, (are) completely understandable and within the bounds of normal human behavior. I have to ask myself, would I be any different?"
In the same article in the Townsman, it was noted that Francis was an “informal adviser” for an after-school student group at AHS called Students for Middle East Justice (SMEJ), that the majority of the students in the SMEJ came from Francis’ physics classroom, and that some of these students were paid to canvass for Francis’ SDP in Somerville. Francis paid Andover public school students from his classroom to support his bigoted organization’s attempt to demonize Israel, and yet Andover remained largely silent.
The Townsman, which did not publish a single article or letter regarding Francis’ political activities until it published a letter I wrote last April, still has not published even on
