Angry Blair ‘disgusted’ With Iran

Angry Blair ‘disgusted’ with Iran
examiner

Tony Blair voiced his “disgust” with Iran last night after Tehran broadcast a second televised “confession” by a captured Royal Navy sailor, apologising for “trespassing” into Iranian waters.

A clearly angry British prime minister said the Iranians’ “manipulation” of the British prisoners would “fool no one”.

He insisted the crisis could only be resolved by the release of all 15 sailors and Royal Marines seized by the Iranians last Friday.

At the same time, Mr Blair appeared to be digging in for a prolonged stand-off — warning that Britain would have to show “patience” as well as “firmness and determination” in its handling of the crisis.

Certainly Tehran appeared to be in no mood to compromise. It followed the release of the footage of Royal Navy sailor Nathan Thomas Summers with a third letter purportedly written by Leading Seaman Faye Turney complaining that she had been “sacrificed” to British and US policies.

The letter also said the British detainees had received better treatment than Iraqi prisoners held by Britain and the US at Abu Ghraib.

In the latest footage, shown on Iran’s Arabic language station Al Alam, Mr Summers is shown saying: “I would like to apologise for entering your waters without any permission.” However there is a clear edit after the word “apologise”, suggesting the extract was spliced together from two separate clips.
In other clips, he said “We trespassed without permission”, before saying their treatment by the Iranians had been “very friendly” and he was “grateful” no harm had come to them.

He is also shown sitting alongside LS Turney — the one woman in the party — and another British serviceman identified as Royal Marine Adam Sperry.

Mr Blair, on a visit to Manchester, angrily denounced the broadcast of the latest footage.

“I really don’t know why the Iranian regime keep doing this. All it does is enhance people’s sense of disgust,” he said.
“Captured personnel being paraded and manipulated in this way doesn’t fool anyone. What the Iranians have to realise is that if they continue in this way, they will face increasing isolation.”

Iranian television has already shown a similar interview with LS Turney, as well as two letters she was said to have written to her family and to a “representative of the House of

Foreign Secretary Margaret Beckett, meeting EU ministers in Germany, said she was “quite horrified” by the latest footage which she denounced as “blatant propaganda”.

Wild Thing's comment.......

I think Churchill would be taking a stronger stand on this. He would be doing more then saying they needed to show “patience”.

"The Fabirc That Holds The Flag Together"

"Message to the Democratic Party Leadership", from Cpl Mason

"Cpl Chris Mason recorded a video message for the Democratic Party Leadership before he was killed in action in Iraq. Chris was killed by Al Qaeda terrorist. He produced this video on November 12th 2006 at FOB Summerall. This video just recently worked its way to me (his dad) on March 23rd 2007, now I am posting it to the internet for him. It reflects his beliefs about the war in Iraq, the people of Iraq, freedom, why he joined the US military, what he expected after joining the military, and if the warriors lost in the war will be lives wasted."

Cpl Mason was killed on November 28th, 2006 by Al-Qaeda Terrorist forces operating in Iraq.
He was laid to rest December 12th 2006, exactly thirty days after making this video statement to the Democratic Party Leadership.

Wild Thing's comment.........

What an honor it is for this country of ours to learn of men like Cpl Mason and all of our troops that volunteered to serve our country. And as Chris says in the video he made " they are the fabric that holds the Flag together."

I cried watching this video, and wish so much that every person serving now could know with all their heart how much they mean to us, how much we know of their sacrifices they make. Missing their loved ones, their families, being away from home when not feeling great, missing special holidays and the first word their child says. The first step their son or daughter takes and so many things.
Know that always we are supporting you and thank you with all our hearts. And a thank you to your families too that serve in such a special way.

The Straw That Broke The Camels Back

The Straw That Broke The Camels Back

By Angry Old Salt

When I was 10 years old, I fell in love with Lionel Electric Trains. Just weeks before Christmas, and my birthday, which was two days later, I begged my Father to get me those trains for Christmas. My Father who was working three jobs during WW11. (wholesale banana business for small grocery stores in Staten Island, New York, his pool hall where Willie Mosconi played winning three straight games from my Dad, and at night he worked for Bethlehem Steel as a machinist.)

Every day I would bug him about the electric trains while he was trying to take a nap. After a week of this bugging my Dad, he put the box of Lionel Trains on my bed. Then I didn’t want them because I realized what an asshole I was.

George Bush took all the bullshit talk, the UN sanctions and the constant media jabbering. While he wanted the countries of the world to get together and stop Saddam from atrocities of his own people and development of WMD’s.

Years had passed with nothing done but bullshit talk from the UN, our media and THE CLINTON ADMINISTRATION!

George Bush took a giant step and we did tremendous damage to the Taliban. And since we had gazillion troops in the area, why not take out Saddam now? President Bush did what the phony UN and Clinton administration would not do. Mission accomplished!

We stayed there to help the Iraqi people. Because we didn’t have the balls to annihilate the Republican Guard!

My God the Democrats wouldn’t allow that! So we let the Republican Guard go to please the bleeding hearts of the world.

Then the UN came in and got a hot foot and left. Only a few Nations stayed with us as you all know.

GW Bush has kept this protection-armed force there to keep the Iraqi people safe while they are setting up their government.

The negative Democrats and the media picadors kept jabbing and jabbing at President Bush always bringing up how many of our troops died.

Now the Saudi king sticks a saber in Bush’s back.

What the Hell!

Veto BOTH bills of Senate and the House!

And then just listen with hand on ear to the assholes, you know who I mean.

I would say to the Congress and those in the Senate, you want them home? OK, but not on your time frame. Maybe they are sick all this crap you are dishing out too, did you ever think about that? I could care less about the Iraqis! I care about our troops and what you are doing to them.

Yes, my Dad did the right thing.

Saudi King Blasts 'illegitimate occupation' Of Iraq

Saudi king blasts 'illegitimate occupation' of Iraq
King Abdullah says Arab nations will not allow any foreign force to decide region’s future.

Mideast Online

Saudi King Abdullah, whose country is a close US ally, on Wednesday slammed the "illegitimate foreign occupation" of Iraq in an opening speech to the annual Arab summit in Riyadh.

"In beloved Iraq, blood is being shed among brothers in the shadow of an illegitimate foreign occupation, and ugly sectarianism threatens civil war," Abdullah said.
He also said that Arab nations, which are planning to revive a five-year-old Middle East peace plan at the summit, would not allow any foreign force to decide the future of the region.

In the past, Saudi leaders including Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal have often criticised US policy in Iraq but have never described its presence there as "illegitimate."

If Arab leaders recover trust in each other and regain their credibility, "the winds of hope will blow on the nation, and then, we will not allow forces from outside the region to determine the future of the region, and only the flag of Arabism will be raised on Arab soil," Abdullah said.

Arab foreign ministers meeting ahead of the summit agreed on Monday to call for an amendment of Iraq's 2005 constitution to give Sunni Arabs a greater share of power in the war-ravaged country and prevent its breakup.

But Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari responded by saying the government did not need a "diktat" from the Arabs on how to amend its constitution and boost national reconciliation.

The Iraqi government has initiated moves to review a de-Baathification law in a bid to woo former members of the regime of executed dictator Saddam Hussein back into politics and government jobs.

Under a controversial de-Baathification law, tens of thousands of members of Iraq's former ruling Baath party were stripped of their posts in government, at universities and in business after the 2003 US-led invasion.

The law has been a major source of grievance for the minority Sunnis, who have waged a deadly insurgency against US troops and the Shiite-led American-backed government in Baghdad.

Iraq's once-ruling Sunnis also want an amendment of the constitution, which they fear leaves their central regions without natural resources and Iraq's oil wealth in the hands of the governing Shiites and the autonomous Kurds.

Wild Thing's comment.........

The Saudis have always been our enemy. This sand lizard only exists because the U.S. has protected the Saudi family for decades. How quickly the Saudis forget how we protected them when Saddam invaded Kuwait in 1990. The Saudi royal family has been the primary funding source for Wahhabist schools (madrassas) and mosques that have been cranking out terrorists and exporters of terrorism. They also back the Muslim schools here in our country. Many of those schools on our land and Mosques that are being watched by our government security as we have all read about.

My guess is from the action in Congress they can no longer be sure the US will "take care" of Iran before we leave, so they need to play nice with Imanutjob. One more blow to America's reputation, courtesy of the Rats.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the reason Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah canceled the state dinner at the White House. Article HERE

Apart from the oil, why we are friends with these people is beyond me.

Active-Duty Troops Asking Congress To Drop Plans For Withdrawal From Iraq

This site is an Appeal For Redress in support of our mission in Iraq.

An Appeal For Redress is an authorized means for active duty military to submit a grievance to Congress. It can be signed by Active Duty, Reserve, or National Guard military personnel.

It is authorized by DoD Directive 1325.6 and DoD Directive 7050.6.

The wording of the Appeal is:
As an American currently serving my nation in uniform, I respectfully urge my political leaders in Congress to fully support our mission in Iraq and halt any calls for retreat. I also respectfully urge my political leaders to actively oppose media efforts which embolden my enemy while demoralizing American support

This Appeal will be delivered to members of Congress.

Most service members fully support the war in Iraq and feel calls to retreat by Congress and emphasis by some in the media on negative aspects while ignoring positive ones act to motivate our enemy while demoralizing our support at home, directly increasing the threat we face and resulting in greater American casualties.

Petitions to sign:

For military:

For civilians:

Wild Thing's comment........

What kind of a world do we live in when our awesome military has to have a petition to ask our Congress to let them fight, and stay till they feel the job is done.

I am so proud of our troops, and my disgust that this has to be done does not take away at all in how I feel about our miilitary. It is the Congress and Senate traitors that I am totally disgusted about, add in to that the vile media and their constant lies and slander daily.

I blame the Media, Congress and those in the Senate that do not support our troops for every IED that injuries our troops, for every soldier that is killed. They are in every way helping the enemy as much as they can and I will NEVER FORGIVE THEM!

Iraqi Army Enters "Most Dangerous" Area

The Iraqi Army has entered the militant stronghold of Duwanim, Slogger’s eyewitness sources have confirmed. The rural district falls just to the southwest of the urbanized areas of Baghdad and is known as a base of operations of armed Sunni groups, especially the Omar Brigades and al-Tawhid wa al-Jihad, the al-Qa'ida affiliated organization.

One Slogger source referred to Duwanim as “the most dangerous place” in the Baghdad area. (On a day when at least 60 Iraqis were killed in multiple bomb attacks in Sha'b, this may be a difficult distinction to arbitrate.)

In fact, sources report that Duwanim and the areas around it were so dangerous to Iraqi forces, that they typically would not enter the area, nor perform operations in adjacent nieghborhoods without coordination and support from the Mahdi Army.

The Mahdi Army have a strong presence in some neighboring urbanized areas, such as parts of the predominantly Shi'a districts of al-Shurta and al-Risala. In certain Shi'a mosques in these districts, the Mahdi Army conducts its affairs, ranging from organizational meetings to the detention of suspected Sunni militants, with sources reporting rumors of torture and killing of suspects inside some religious facilities.

The entrance of forces entrance into the Duwanim area is highly significant. Until now, the lawless district was a theater of open conflict and deadly raids between the Mahdi Army and armed Sunni groups. As reported earlier, Iraqi forces have not entered the area for a year.

Wild Thing's comment........

Something about this I find interesting. Our troops have been to some areas that have been called similar things. All VERY dangerous! This article states it is the Iraqi Army now going into the "Most Dangerous" Area. Maybe I am so pro OUR toops that it bugs me a little because I don't like anything to take away from the many areas OUR troops have fought at and still are.

Dems Using Troops as 'Bargaining Chip' for Pork

Your Democratic Congress at Work
from Hugh Hewitt blog- at Townhall

You might think a supplemental funding bill whose express purpose is to support our troops in a war zone would be a serious matter. If you think that way, you’ve obviously mistaken our Democrat-run Senate as a serious institution. Below is a list of additional expenditures, or, you might say, winners of the pork lottery that the Democrats included in the supplemental funding bill:

1) $24 million for funding for sugar beets. Good thing - I love sugar beets!

2) $3 million for funding for sugar cane (goes to one Hawaiian co-op). But I love sugar even more. Especially sugar that comes from Hawaii!

3) $20 million for insect infestation damage reimbursements in Nevada, Idaho, and Utah. Damn insects. Kill them all.

4) $2.1 billion for crop production losses. Remember, this is a bill to support the troops.

5) $1.5 billion for livestock production losses. That’s a lot of livestock.

6) $100 million for Dairy Production Losses. Is there any industry in America that’s losing money that this bill doesn’t offer a handout to?

7) $13 million for Ewe Lamb Replacement and Retention Program. The problem with ewes is you feed them, you train them, you love them, and when they finally become useful they take a better paying job. Ewes are fickle beasts who show not an ounce of loyalty. Even $13 million to replace and retain them won’t do any good.

8) $32 million for Livestock Indemnity Program. Good to have in case your chicken pecks out the neighbor’s kid’s eye. Gotta have indemnity for your livestock. Much more important than funding the troops.

9) $40 million for the Tree Assistance Program. Aaah, trees – the cathedrals of nature. I bet this one was John Kerry’s idea.

10) Provision that extends the availability by a year $3.5 million in funding for guided tours of the Capitol. Also a provision allows transfer of funds from holiday ornament sales in the Senate gift shop. If I understand this one correctly, most of the $3.5 million actually goes to stocking Ted Kennedy’s Capitol mini-bar.

11) 165.9 million for fisheries disaster relief, funded through NOAA (including $60.4 million for salmon fisheries in the Klamath Basin region). Finally, the overlooked Klamath basin gets the attention it deserves.

12) $25 million for asbestos abatement at the Capitol Power Plant. On this one, we got off easy. The contemplated asbestos abatement on Ted Kennedy’s liver would have cost an additional $6 million.

13) $22.8 million for geothermal research and development. Someday, God willing, this research will pave the way for curing the earth’s fever.

Believe me, there are many, many others. This is only a partial list. And, I regret to say, not one of the items above is made-up or a joke.

Bush It Is Time To Dust Off That Veto Pen

Never forget has become Never Remember

Sorry men, we gotta pull back, leave the Nazis in France. Nancy Pelosi's orders.

Senate backs troop withdrawal from Iraq

WASHINGTON (Reuters)

The U.S. Senate on Tuesday endorsed a March 31, 2008, target date for withdrawing American combat troops from Iraq, moving Congress a step closer to a showdown with President George W. Bush over the war.

By a vote of 50-48, the Senate defeated an amendment that would have stricken the withdrawal language from a $121.6 billion bill that mostly would fund the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. A final vote on the bill is expected later this week.

Bush has promised to veto any legislation with dates for withdrawing from Iraq, including a measure passed by the U.S. House of Representatives on Friday.

HERE is the Roll Call so you can see who voted and how

- 46 of 48 professed Pubbies voted for the amendment. Cut-and-Hagel voted against, Enzi didn't vote.
- Lieberman also voted for the amendment.
- 48 of 50 professed RATs voted against the amendment.

Wild Thing's comment.......

We must never forget who our enemy is, not only Islam but also the Dems. The Dems want people to forget about not only 9-11 but all the other attacks that the followers of Islam have done. We must not let this happen.

There are 51 Dems and 49 Republicans in the Senate. The vote was 50-48. I guarantee every Dem except Lieberman voted to set the timetable...and Johnson is still out sick...so that means very few Republicans crossed the aisle.

There were two (2) RINOs involved: Hagel and Gordon Smith. Lieberman voted with the 'pubbies.

The reaction against Hagel and Smith should be swift and terrible.

What in God's name were they thinking, handing the reins of government over to the Socialists in a time of war? Sheer idiocy!

All the world terrorist organizations and regimes send their great thanks and congratulations for these 50 traitors!

When the President vetoes this treasonous and defeatist bill ( and he said several times he would) he should go on national TV and address the nation on why he is vetoing this bill. He should tell of how those that voted as they did are aiding the enemy and that what they did is an act of treason imo, it is stabbing our troops in the back.

One Of The Many Things Ramos and Campean Were Fighting Against!

National parks' pot farms blamed on cartels
Mexican drug lords find it easier to grow in state than import
Zachary Coile, Chronicle Washington Bureau
Friday, November 18, 2005 ...note the date and how long this has been going on

Article from here
This article appeared on page A - 1 of the San Francisco Chronicle
11-18) 04:00 PDT Washington

Hikers in national parks such as Yosemite and Sequoia-Kings Canyon are encountering a danger more hazardous than bears: illegal marijuana farms run by Mexican drug cartels and protected by booby traps and guards carrying AK-47s.

National Park Service officials testified in Congress on Thursday that illegal drug production in national parks, forests and other federal lands had grown into a multibillion-dollar business in recent years -- mostly concentrated in California.

"These activities threaten our employees, visitors and our mission of protecting some of the nation's most prized natural and cultural resources," Karen Taylor-Goodrich, the National Park Service's associate director for visitor and resource protection, told the House Resources Subcommittee on National Parks.

Last year, National Park Service officers seized about 60,000 marijuana plants, with an estimated street value of $240 million, from parks in California. About 44,000 pot plants were removed from Sequoia National Park near California's Central Valley. Another 10,000 plants were seized in Yosemite National Park.

The Park Service also has found pot farms and other drug trafficking activities in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area and the Whiskeytown National Recreation Area in Shasta County as well as two Bay Area parks: the Golden Gate National Recreation Area and Point Reyes National Seashore.

The increasing use of national parks and other public lands for illegal pot farming is part of a major shift in the marijuana trade. Ten years ago, almost all of the state's pot was grown in the "Emerald Triangle," an area encompassing Humboldt, Mendocino and Trinity counties in Northern California, law enforcement officials said.

But Mexican drug cartels now are seizing on the state's mild climate and vast stretches of remote lands to set up pot farms across California. Tightened security on the U.S.-Mexico border has also convinced many drug gangs it is easier to grow marijuana in the state than to smuggle it into the country.

Park service officials said the drug cartels took extreme measures to protect their plants, which can be worth $4,000 each. Growers have been known to set up booby traps with shotguns. Guards armed with knives and military-style weapons have chased away hikers at gunpoint. In 2002, a visitor to Sequoia was briefly detained by a drug grower, who threatened to harm him if he told authorities the pot farm's secret location.

During a raid of an illegal pot farm in Santa Clara County in June, a California Fish and Game officer was wounded and a suspect shot and killed.

"In prior years, guards used to flee from Park Service law enforcement but now stand their ground with leveled guns using intimidation tactics," Laura Whitehouse, the Central Valley program manager for the National Parks Conservation Association, told the committee.

The illicit pot farms can also cause environmental damage. Growers often cut trees, dig ditches, create crude dams on streams, and haul in plastic hoses and other equipment to irrigate the plants. Fertilizers and other chemicals used by growers pollute watersheds and kill native species. Last year, the Park Service spent $50,000 to clean up tons of litter, debris and human waste at pot farms that were discovered or abandoned.

Congress approved a slight increase in funding for Park Service law enforcement for next year, $3.6 million, $746,000 of it for drug eradication efforts in California parks. But federal and state officials say they still lack the money and personnel to patrol vast areas in and around the state's parks.

"It's a $2 billion or a $4 billion problem, and we're throwing $1 million at it," said Supervisor Allen Ishida of Tulare County, whose deputies seized 157,000 pot plants on public and private lands and made 28 arrests this year.

Rep. Steve Pearce, R-N.M., the chairman of the national parks subcommittee, said it would be tough to find more money in the federal budget as Congress deals with rising deficits and is considering cutting many programs. He urged the Park Service to put more officers on drug eradication instead of "writing parking tickets."

Donald Coelho, the Park Service's chief of law enforcement, agreed that more money was not the only solution. He said a coordinated strategy by state, federal and local law enforcement officials ultimately could put a dent in the Mexican cartels' operations.

"Sometimes it takes time to work your way through an organization," Coelho said.

State narcotics officers and the Drug Enforcement Administration seized a record 1.1 million pot plants on public and private lands in California this year, up from 621,000 plants last year, through an aggressive campaign called CAMP, or Campaign Against Marijuana Planting. The street value of those drugs is estimated at $4.5 billion.

But state and federal officials said drug growers were adapting quickly -- for example, planting smaller pot farms that are tougher to spot from surveillance planes and helicopters. Some growers have responded to drug raids in Sequoia and other parks by moving their farms to nearby Forest Service or Bureau of Land Management lands.

Without a more comprehensive plan, "we are just shifting the problem from one jurisdiction to another," Ishida said.

Wild Thing's comment.........

Ramos and Compean are being used as a lesson to other border patrolmen. A lesson that shouts - don't use force of any kind to do your job - just let 'em go. This whole thing is unforgivable what those in power have done to these Border Agents. This is just one story of what is going on, there are tons of stories out there loaded with information on how bad it is.

Then add in all the murder and all the other horrible crimes that these illegals are guilty of in our country and most of them are not even caught.
And look at this about tuberculosis coming back.

Paper or Plastic ....No Now It will Be Bag It

San Francisco Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi hands out canvas shopping bags, Tuesday, March 27, 2007, in San Francisco. San Francisco's Board of Supervisors on Tuesday is to consider passing an ordinance that would require large supermarkets and pharmacies in the city to replace non-biodegradable plastic bags with reusable or recyclable bags, a move that would make San Francisco the first city in the U.S. to introduce such a ban. Mirkarimi, who sponsored the original version of the ordinance, said the proposal has the support of most supervisors, the city's garbage disposal contractor, and even many smaller retailers, who won't have to comply with the ban. (AP Photo/Ben Margot)

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - City leaders approved a ban on plastic grocery bags after weeks of lobbying on both sides from environmentalists and a supermarket trade group. If Mayor Gavin Newsom signs the ban as expected, San Francisco would be the first U.S. city to adopt such a rule.

The law, passed by a 10-1 vote, requires large markets and drug stores to give customers only a choice among bags made of paper that can be recycled, plastic that breaks down easily enough to be made into compost, or reusable cloth.

San Francisco supervisors and supporters said that by banning the petroleum-based sacks, blamed for littering streets and choking marine life, the measure would go a long way toward helping the city earn its green stripes.

"Hopefully, other cities and states will follow suit," said Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi, who crafted the ban after trying to get a 15-cent per bag tax passed in 2005.

The 50 grocery stores that would be most affected by the law argued that the ban was not reasonable because plastic bags made of corn byproducts are a relatively new, expensive and untested product. Some said they might offer only paper bags at checkout.

"I think what grocers will do now that this has passed is, they will review all their options and decide what they think works best for them economically," said David Heylen, a spokesman for the California Grocers Association.

Newsom supported the measure. The switch is scheduled to take effect in six months for grocery stores and in one year for pharmacies.

Craig Noble, a spokesman for the Natural Resources Defense Council, said it would be disappointing if grocers rejected the biodegradable plastic bag option, since more trees would have to be cut down if paper bag use increases.

The new breed of bags "offers consumers a way out of a false choice, a way out of the paper or plastic dilemma," Noble said.

Wild Thing's comment........

Wasn't the reason why we have plastic grocery bags is because of the envirowackos didn't want us to cut down trees by using paper bags ? Time for a I LOVE GLOBAL WARMING bag give away in San Francisco.

So, paper or plastic was too much freedom of choice for these fascists? They're not happy unless they're telling you what kind of car to drive, where you can smoke, whether you can have a gun, what words are permissable to say.

Every time I was in Europe I would see them use bags kind of like the one in the photo above. They were fine if only buying a few items. But I never saw people shopping like we do with a whole cart full of groceries. How the heck will a person get all those groceries in one of those bags. Or even several bags like that. hahahaha

Thinking Blog Award

Yankeemom has informed me that I have won a Thinking Blogger Award. Thank you Yankeemom!

Yankeemom is a dear friend and also has a wonderful blog. Yankeemom is the mother of a soldier, it is also the journey of her fight against the left in her northern California town.

I feel so blessed, I also got tagged for Thinking Blog by another dear friend Beth at Blue Star Chronicles.

Beth is an awesome blogger like Yankeemom has a loved one serving now. Thank you for your friendship.

It all originated with ilker yoldas at The Thinking Blog, who picked 5 blogs that made him think rather than just answer a simple meme about what his favorite color is.

Since the idea is to list only 5 blogs that make you think, this is hard for me, as most of the blogs I read serve that purpose. I am listing people who I think will "play" and haven't already been tagged and also have made me think and I have learned a lot from.

Congratulations, you have won a Thinking Blogger!

Here are my five, gosh this is hard there are so many I truly love. Because it is hard to pick only 5 I have picked 5 that are my personal heroes for variouis reasons. I am not going to pick just a blog because I know they will respond to listing 5 blogs of theirs, I know that is how it is done. But sometimes a blog I truly admire is not the kind of blog that will be up for this. Too much pressure in a world we need less pressure in. I also picked blogs that are some of the ones like it states....that make me think.

My personal Heroes and blogs that make me think........

1. Something....and Half of Something, Linda is a wonderful friend, my Blog Mom and much more then that. Linda's blog is full of information about Israel, politics and supporting the troops with some wonderful humor as well along the way.

2. And Rightly So, Raven is also a friend and like I stated above a personal hero of mine. Her blog is informative about politics and supporting the troops. She adds in her marvelous sense of humor.

3. Knowledge is Power , SondraK is also an awesome person and a friend. Her blog is unique like non others. Knowledge truly IS power and her blog is full of information and fun at the same time. She discussus politics and is also a suppporter of our awesome troops.

4. Conservative Insurgent, Jack is a friend and I have learned a lot from him. His blog is very informative and his knowledge of the things he discusses shows as he gives not only information but a lot of personal experience along the way. He also discuses politics and is a supporter of our troops.

5. My Vast Right Wing Conspiracy, Beth is a friend and was one of the first blogs I ever read. I have learned a lot at her blog, even when she says she is not going to blog anymore she still comes back with powerful, informative posts loaded with information.

6. Daisy Cutter, DC is awesome and a friend. I love how he gives information along with a commentary that he writes. I always learn from him, and his comments cause me to think of all the things that I might miss when my passion on a topic takes over and my mind cannot put things into words.

7. The Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler, Emperor Misha is someone I have learned so much from. I love his passion and his fearless attacks as he comments on things happening. His blog is also about politics and he supports our troops as all of my choices do without fail. His posts are so complete as he gives tons of information which helps a lot in the thinking dept. of learning about something.

OK yes I went beyond the 5, but I just could not help it. heh heh Just be glad I stopped at 7 instead of 20 or 30 that I can think of that I go to every day. giggle

Should you choose to participate, please make sure you pass this list of rules to the blogs you are tagging. I thought it would be appropriate to include them with the meme.

The participation rules are simple:

1. If, and only if, you get tagged, write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think,

2. Link to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme,

3. Optional: Proudly display the 'Thinking Blogger Award' with a link to the post that you wrote.

Well I hope you managed to get to the end of the post, be safe and have a great day.

Banned UN Speech: "Human Rights Nightmare"

UN Watch exposes the monumental hypocrisies, terrible lies and moral inversions of the new and supposedly reformed UN Human Rights Council. Millions of victims and 191 countries ignored. Darfur atrocities outright denied.

Delivered by Hillel Neuer, Executive Director of UN Watch

For those that cannot open YouTube here is the transcript:

Mr. President,

Six decades ago, in the aftermath of the Nazi horrors, Eleanor Roosevelt, Réné Cassin and other eminent figures gathered here, on the banks of Lake Geneva, to reaffirm the principle of human dignity. They created the Commission on Human Rights. Today, we ask: What has become of their noble dream?

In this session we see the answer. Faced with compelling reports from around the world of torture, persecution, and violence against women, what has the Council pronounced, and what has it decided?

Nothing. Its response has been silence. Its response has been indifference. Its response has been criminal.

One might say, in Harry Truman’s words, that this has become a Do-Nothing, Good-for-Nothing Council.

But that would be inaccurate. This Council has, after all, done something.

It has enacted one resolution after another condemning one single state: Israel. In eight pronouncements—and there will be three more this session—Hamas and Hezbollah have been granted impunity. The entire rest of the world—millions upon millions of victims, in 191 countries—continue to go ignored.

So yes, this Council is doing something. And the Middle East dictators who orchestrate this campaign will tell you it is a very good thing. That they seek to protect human rights, Palestinian rights.

So too, the racist murderers and rapists of Darfur women tell us they care about the rights of Palestinian women; the occupiers of Tibet care about the occupied; and the butchers of Muslims in Chechnya care about Muslims.

But do these self-proclaimed defenders truly care about Palestinian rights?

Let us consider the past few months. More than 130 Palestinians were killed by Palestinian forces. This is three times the combined total that were the pretext for calling special sessions in July and November. Yet the champions of Palestinian rights—Ahmadinejad, Assad, Khaddafi, John Dugard—they say nothing. Little 3-year-old boy Salam Balousha and his two brothers were murdered in their car by Prime Minister Haniyeh’s troops. Why has this Council chosen silence?

Because Israel could not be blamed. Because, in truth, the dictators who run this Council couldn’t care less about Palestinians, or about any human rights.

They seek to demonize Israeli democracy, to delegitimize the Jewish state, to scapegoat the Jewish people. They also seek something else: to distort and pervert the very language and idea of human rights.

You ask: What has become of the founders’ dream? With terrible lies, it is being turned into a nightmare.

Thank you, Mr. President.

Self-proclaimed defenders of Palestinian rights -- Assad, Ahamadinejad, Khaddafi and UN expert John Dugard -- care only about scapegoating Israel. Council President Luis de Alba of Mexico responds with unprecedented announcement that he rejects the speech as "inadmissible" -- and issues a ban on any speech that similarly criticizes the council or its member states. NGO community is shocked at denial of free speech and open debate.

And that is what the Council president, Luis Alfonso de Alba, said in reply to the speech given in the video:

"For the first time in this session I will not express thanks for that statement. I shall point out to the distinguished representative of the organization that just spoke, the distinguished representative of United Nations Watch, if you'd kindly listen to me. I am sorry that I'm not in a position to thank you for your statement. I should mention that I will not tolerate any similar statements in the Council. The way in which members of this Council were referred to, and indeed the way in which the council itself was referred to, all of this is inadmissible.

In the memory of the persons that you referred to, founders of the Human Rights Commission, and for the good of human rights, I would urge you in any future statements to observe some minimum proper conduct and language. Otherwise, any statement you make in similar tones to those used today will be taken out of the records. "

Wild Thing's comment........

The Palestinians' and terrorists' buddies at the UN didn't like this at all.

Thanks to LGF for the heads up about the video.

U.S. Can't Account for 600,000 Fugitives

U.S. Can't Account for 600,000 Fugitives

Breitbart.com..for complete article

WASHINGTON (AP) - Teams assigned to make sure foreigners ordered out of the United States actually leave have a backlog of more than 600,000 cases and can't accurately account for the fugitives' whereabouts, the government reported Monday.

The report by the Homeland Security Department's inspector general found that the effectiveness of teams assigned to find the fugitives was hampered by "insufficient detention capacity, limitations of an immigration database and inadequate working space."

Even though more than $204 million was allocated for 52 fugitive operations teams since 2003, a backlog of 623,292 cases existed as of August of 2006, the report said.

The number of illegal immigrants in the United States has been estimated at between 11.5 million and 12 million. About 5.4 percent of them are believed to be "fugitive aliens," those who have failed to leave the country after being ordered out.

The inspector general found there is not enough bed space available to detain such fugitives and that agents are hampered by an inaccurate database. Other factors that limit the teams' effectiveness are insufficient staffing, the report said.

Until the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks, attempts to catch such fugitives were mostly carried out by teams not exclusively devoted to the task. After the attacks, an Absconder Apprehension Initiative was created within the Justice Department to find, apprehend and deport such immigrants. When the Homeland Security Department was created in March 2003, it assumed responsibility.

Wild Thing's comment.........

By the crime reports across our country they all here! Rapes, murders, car jacking, abductions, kidnapping for random... the list goes on.

But then our government gives them the OK, and puts the Border Agents in jail and drug dealer illegals are rewarded. sheesh!

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith
becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of
creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming
in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...
There can be NO divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an
American, but something else also, isn't an American at all.
We have room for but ONE flag, the American flag...
We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...
and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Blair Calls Cobra Team In As Crisis In Iran Escalates

Blair convenes Cobra team as crisis in Iran escalates

news.scotsman.com
Sunday March 25, 2007

The official notification, delivered in secure calls yesterday morning to senior Whitehall figures, was the latest dramatic behind-the-scenes move to get to grips with a crisis that is now engulfing the government.

After a day of shadow-boxing with a notoriously slippery regime, Tony Blair is set to up the ante: the plight of the Shatt al-Arab 15 is officially a crisis and he will need the Cobra team to handle it.

The clutch of VIPs will gather in an operations room several floors below Downing Street as early as this afternoon to plot an escape from a military spat that now threatens to become an international incident.

The decision came just 24 hours after the crew of HMS Cornwall had been caught in the confusion of direct confrontation with Iranian vessels in the searing heat of the Gulf.

As the crew members were surrounded in their two rubber dinghies, the Cornwall's commander, Commodore Nick Lambert, frantically radioed back to his own top brass for instructions.

The response to the inquiry, which had been immediately patched through to Ministry of Defence headquarters in Whitehall, was to hold fire.

The order to show restraint has been observed throughout the forces and the British government in the 48 hours since, but it is unclear how long both sides will be able to maintain control.

Foreign Secretary Margaret Beckett's first response to the gathering crisis on Friday was to keep to diplomatic conventions. After a hurried phone call to Blair, she immediately summoned Iran's ambassador, Rasoul Movahedian, to her office to explain their behaviour.
After a meeting described by officials as "brisk but polite", Beckett emerged to stress that she was "extremely disturbed" by events.

It was an understated description of the deep concern now gripping the government. Not only was Blair's administration alarmed at the risk to the 15 military personnel, which included at least one woman, but it was in no doubt over Tehran's ability to use their plight to make a wider point.

During a flurry of diplomatic activity in the hours after the snatch, the Iranians' rhetoric repeatedly elevated their action, and the alleged motives of the British, to a multinational affair. It was the eve of a second UN Security Council resolution imposing sanctions over Iran's refusal to halt its programme to enrich uranium. The Shatt al-Arab 15 were, from the start, pawns in a perilous international game.

"It looks like too much of a coincidence," a senior Foreign Office insider confirmed.

The response was a no- nonsense demand for Iran to relent - and Britain freely used the international community to back up its case. Beckett dispatched the UK chargé d'affaires, Kate Smith, to confront the government in Tehran, armed with the insistence that the British sailors had been in Iraqi waters.

In the meantime, Blair made a personal call to European allies, including EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana, to secure a public denunciation of the Iranians' actions.

"It was impressed on everyone how important it was to raise the diplomatic temperature, rather than keep a low profile and let them make a song and dance of the situation," one defence official said.
"There is nothing to be gained in provoking a confrontation, because that would be playing into their hands. But neither should we let them have it all their way. We tried that before and we're still trying to get our kit back."

The smaller-scale precedent, the taking of six British marines and two sailors on the same waterway in June 2004, was a painful lesson. The personnel were only returned after they had been paraded blindfold on Iranian television and admitted entering Iranian waters illegally. Three years on, the government is still pressing Iran for the return of its boats and kit, including valuable radar equipment.

The degree of concern felt across Whitehall was demonstrated yesterday, when Movahedian was called back to the Foreign Office, this time to see Beckett's minister, Lord Triesman. The British were clearly attempting to warn off Tehran before it could begin to use the servicemen and women as a significant propaganda tool.

It was, however, a race against time - and through it all, the diplomats and the politicians were acutely aware that Tehran has built a foreign policy on disregarding diplomatic niceties.

Top level COBRA is an acronym for Cabinet Office Briefing Room A, where its meetings are held.

Tony Blair, senior ministers, police and security chiefs all take part. It is called after events such as 9/11, 7/7 and can evoke emergency powers such as suspending Parliament or restricting movement.

Wild Thing's comment........

I only can pray that these sailors will be safe and unharmed and not killed.

Anyone feel like the worm is about to turn and the Iranians arent going to like the direction it takes?

Blair while in Berlin said:

"Tony Blair has called the seizure of British sailors by Iran "unjustified and wrong," and rejects the claim that they strayed into Iranian waters.

Speaking to journalists in Berlin, the Prime Minister said he hoped the Iranian Government understood the "fundamental" nature of the issue.

"There is no doubt at all that these people were taken from a boat in Iraqi waters.

"It is simply not true that they went into Iranian territorial waters, and I hope the Iranian government understands how fundamental an issue this is for us.

"We have certainly sent the message back to them very clearly indeed. They should not be under any doubt at all about how seriously we regard this act, which is unjustified and wrong."

Marines Expelled from Afghanistan! WTF????

Top general in Afghanistan expels Marines
WASHINGTON

The top American general in Afghanistan has expelled a U.S. Marine special operations company for the way the men responded to an ambush March 4, Marine sources said.

Maj. Cliff Gilmore, a spokesman for Marine Special Operations Command, confirmed to The Examiner that the company of 120 Marines is redeploying.

He said the decision followed an ambush on the company's convoy by a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device. A second Marine source said the Marines retaliated and some civilians were killed.

The action brought an abrupt end to what promised to be a historic deployment. The unit sailed in January from Camp Lejeune, N.C., as the first Marine Corps special operations company sent overseas. The Corps joined U.S. Special Operations Command a year ago.

The company is now redeploying to Kuwait after just a few weeks in Afghanistan in what was supposed to be a six-month tour.

A Marine officer assigned to special operations said Lt. Gen. Karl Eikenberry, the top U.S. commander, took the extraordinary step of expelling the unit after he consulted with Afghan Prime Minister Hamid Karzai.

A spokesman for Eikenberry could not be reached today.

Wild Thing's comment.........

WTF! So our guys have to get a rule book out every time they are ambushed??? What about the fact that they have to fight combattants who wear no military uniforms. The war will NEVER be won as long as political correctness and stupid-ass liberalism replaces a sound, aggressive military strategy.

Marines are problem solvers! The citizens shouldn't allow the bad guys in, they are part of the problem. They hide them in their homes, and sometimes yes from fear of them but I could care less. If these people want the insurgents to go away to die and stop causeing death then they , the citizens, need to take a stand too.

A Marine officer assigned to special operations said Lt. Gen. Karl Eikenberry, the top U.S. commander, took the extraordinary step of expelling the unit after he consulted with Afghan Prime Minister Hamid Karzai.

Another PC general!! The days of "Blood and Guts" Patton are long gone. And I want them back, screw PC! You cannot fight a war and go around arresting the troops for doing what they were trained to do.

It's a devil's deal, when you're caught in an ambush like this.

Do you simply take your losses and run away? That's the preferred Army doctrine. It avoids civilian casualties, but it also establishes a hunter/hunted relationship with the enemy in the hunter position. That's a direct mental victory for them, and a loss for us. It also encourages them to use these tactics, for years on end.

Do you attempt to engage your attackers? Hard to do when you don't know who they are, hiding as they do among civilians. They're not afraid to die, and they're not only willing to sacrifice civilians, they're trying to get us to kill them on accident. Events like this and Haditha aren't lucky coincidences for them. It's doctrine. Captured training manuals state they are directed to try and engineer *atrocities* that our media will pick up on.

No matter what you do, that media is there, ready to announce your sins to the world, while the Inquisitors from JAG ready the gallows.

"Victory" has long ago been replaced by "don't cause bad press". That's our policy now, and our side won't hesitate to crucify you over it.

Again - when you try to fight a "PC" war, you are going to loose. Our formerly beloved POTUS, GWBush, who looked like a hero when the WOT began, now looks like another sniveling whimp.

I have had it - either FIGHT THE DANGED WAR, or bring ALL of our troops worldwide back home. We obviously are not REALLY going to fight anybody. Bring them home, put 100K troops on the southern border, and just ignore the rest of the world's problems.

What the hell is the next step is for these Marines to be sued by CAIR?? And give the Taliban pay off money?

Iran Plans To Bargain Deal With Sailors and Also Try Them For espionage

Iran: British sailors 'bargaining chips'

TEHERAN, Iran

An Iranian military official said Saturday afternoon that the 15 detained British sailors "confessed" to illegally entering Iranian waters.

The sailors, taken at gunpoint Friday by Iranian Revolutionary Guard and Al Quds soldiers were captured intentionally and are to be used as bargaining chips to be used for the release of five Iranians who were arrested at the Iranian consul in Irbil, Iraq by US troops, an Iranian official told the daily paper Asharq al-Awsat on Saturday.

Iran ‘to try Britons for espionage’
timesonline

FIFTEEN British sailors and marines arrested by Iran’s Revolutionary Guards off the coast of Iraq may be charged with spying.

A website run by associates of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Iranian president, reported last night that the Britons would be put before a court and indicted.

Referring to them as “insurgents”, the site concluded: “If it is proven that they deliberately entered Iranian territory, they will be charged with espionage. If that is proven, they can expect a very serious penalty since according to Iranian law, espionage is one of the most serious offences.”

The warning followed claims by Iranian officials that the British navy personnel had been taken to Tehran, the capital, to explain their “aggressive action” in entering Iranian waters. British officials insist the servicemen were in Iraqi waters when they were held.

The penalty for espionage in Iran is death. However, similar accusations of spying were made when eight British servicemen were detained in the same area in 2004. They were paraded blindfolded on television but did not appear in court and were freed after three nights in detention.

In addition, a senior Iranian military official said Saturday that the decision to capture the soldiers was made during a March 18 emergency meeting of the High Council for Security following a report by the Al-Quds contingent commander, Kassem Suleimani, to the Iranian chief of the armed forces, Maj.Gen. Hassan Firouz Abadi.

In the report, according to Asharq al-Awsat, Suleimani warned Abadi that Al Quds and Revolutionary Guards' operations had become transparent to US and British intelligence following the arrest of a senior Al Quds officer and four of his deputies in Irbil.

According to the official, Iran was worried that its detained people would leak sensitive intelligence information.

Iran denounced a tightening of sanctions which the United Nations security council was expected to agree last night in protest at Tehran’s insistence on enriching uranium that could be used for nuclear weapons.

UK Sailors Captured At Gunpoint

UK sailors captured at gunpoint BBC news

Fifteen British navy personnel have been captured at gunpoint by Iranian forces, the Ministry of Defence says.
The men were seized at 1030 local time when they boarded a boat in the Gulf, off the coast of Iraq, which they suspected was smuggling cars.

The Royal Navy said the group was on a routine patrol in Iraqi waters and were understood to be unharmed.

But Iranian state television quoted the Iran foreign ministry as saying they had illegally entered Iranian waters.

The Associated Press news agency is quoting US Navy official, Commander Kevin Aandahl, as saying that Iran's Revolutionary Guard were responsible.

Mr Aandahl is also reported as saying the naval force had told them in a radio message that the British were not harmed.

Foreign Secretary Margaret Beckett has demanded the immediate and safe return of the HMS Cornwall servicemen.

She added that she had called for a "full explanation" from Iran and had left them in no doubt that she wanted the group and their equipment back immediately.

The task force's commander, Commodore Nick Lambert, said he was hoping there had been a "simple mistake" over territorial waters.

"There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that they [British personnel] were in Iraqi territorial waters. Equally, the Iranians may claim they were in Iranian territorial waters.

The incident comes at a time of renewed tensions with Iran over its nuclear programme and follows claims that most of the violence against UK forces in Basra is being engineered by Iranian elements.

British army Colonel Justin Maciejewski, who is based in Iraq, said Iran was providing "sophisticated weaponry" to insurgents and "Iranian agents" were paying local men to attack British troops.

Wild Thing's comment.......

it were up to me I'd simply say, "At the end of two hours one of two things will have happened. Either the hostages will be returned, or you will have no Navy."

Ahmadinejad Lied About Not Getting A Visa

U.S. says Iran president's visa approved

WASHINGTON, March 23 (Reuters)

Visas for Iran's president and other diplomats to visit the United States had been approved, the White House said on Friday, disputing Iran's claim that the entry documents had not been approved.

Iran said Washington had so far failed to give a visa to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad so he could address the U.N. Security Council in New York when it meets to vote on new sanctions against Tehran, which could happen this weekend.

"The Iranian comment is false. As the State Department said earlier this week, the visas have been approved," said Gordon Johndroe, spokesman for the White House National Security Council.

State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said visas for 39 Iranian officials -- including Ahmadinejad, diplomats and security guards -- were in the hands of the Iranians as of 10 a.m. local time in Bern, Switzerland.

He said because some visa forms for the air crew were incomplete, those were still being processed.

"At the end of the day, everybody gets the visas that they need in order to travel to the United Nations," McCormack told reporters.

Wild Thing's comment........

What liars Iran is!

White House calling Iran's bluff. Ahmanutjob too chicken to step foot in the US after seizing our allies this morning. This will make Ahmanutjob look very bad in his country. Islam has issues with the whole pride thing....LOL. ....This is actually a good move by the White House (imho)!

I'd love to see Ahmanutjob in chains but ramsey clark and murtha would turn him into a cult hero.

Feel The Power ~ Oh Yeah!

The Fairchild-Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II is a single-seat, twin-engine jet aircraft designed to provide close air support (CAS) of ground forces by attacking tanks, armored vehicles, and other ground targets.

As a secondary mission, it provides airborne forward air control, guiding other aircraft against ground targets.

It is the first US Air Force aircraft designed exclusively for close air support (CAS) of ground forces. The official nickname comes from the P-47 Thunderbolt of World War II, a plane that was particularly effective at the CAS mission. However, the A-10 is more commonly known as Warthog or simply Hog.

Rats in Congress Use Troops as 'Bargaining Chip' for Pork

Dems Accused of Using Troops as 'Bargaining Chip' for Pork

(CNSNews.com)

As the House prepares to debate legislation Thursday that would authorize more funding for military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan - and set a September 2008 end-date for funding - conservative analysts condemned what they said was excessive "pork spending" in the bill.

The U.S. Troop Readiness, Veteran's Health, and Iraq Accountability Act would allocate $103 billion in additional funding for military operations, and to care for wounded troops. But it also contains $21 billion in so-called "pork spending."

Several appropriations are under fire, including:

-- $50 million for "asbestos abatement and other improvements" in the U.S. Capitol.
-- $74 million for "storage, handling, and other associated costs for the 2007 crop of peanuts."
-- $120 million to fund the shrimp industry's recovery from Hurricane Katrina
-- $284 million for payments to dairy farmers
-- $4.3 billion in increased Federal Emergency Management Agency disaster relief for areas affected by hurricanes

The bill allocates smaller amounts, such as $5.27 million for bird flu research and $165,200 for the widow of a late congressman.

Rep. Joe Pitts (R-Pa.) said in a statement Wednesday that Democrats are "trying to pressure reluctant members into voting for this by taking on billions of dollars in pork barrel projects. The money they want to spend on spinach subsidies and peanut storage would be better spent on body armor and Humvees."
Congress is "effectively using the troops as a bargaining chip for their own pork" and called the domestic projects "extremely wasteful."
"Congress is telling the president, you cannot fund body armor for our troops until you agree to give us $16 million for extra office space in the House of Representatives," Riedl said. The $16 million allocation for "House office buildings" appeared in an earlier version of the bill but has since been removed.

Republicans on the committee believe the bill named for troops and the war on Iraq should stick to that focus and not deviate to domestic spending projects.

"This legislation ought to focus on our troops. It ought to focus on providing those in harm's way with the resources they need to complete their mission successfully," California Rep. Jerry Lewis, the ranking Republican on the Appropriations Committee, said in a statement.
For its part, the White House has said President Bush will veto the appropriations bill unless it is changed. "Because of the excessive and extraneous non-emergency spending it contains," the administration said in a statement, "if this legislation were presented to the President, he would veto the bill."
"Congress should reject this legislation," the White House statement continued, "and promptly send the President a responsible bill that provides the funding and flexibility our troops need, without holding funding for the troops hostage to unrelated spending."

Wild Thing's comment.......

There should be a name attached to every add on spending piece. Where's the congressman or senator responsible? The Democrats would like to cut national defense - not to reduce spending, but so they can weaken our military and also so they can piss it away on more of their domestic giveaway programs instead

Leftists Go After Thier Own ~ Police Called To Protect Pelosi

The Hilll.com

Four members of the anti-war group Code Pink were arrested outside the office of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) Thursday afternoon, following an announcement that they would seek to take over the office.

The group’s members had planned to hold a symbolic "Pin the war on the Donkey” demonstration at Pelosi’s office to show their frustration with the Democratic leadership’s inaction on ending the war in Iraq.

However, Capitol Police prevented the taping of a drawn donkey to the wall.

Code Pink members were crying outside Pelosi’s office. When asked why, Rae Abileah, 24, said she was crying out of “outrage that this is all we can get from the Democrats,” referring to the Iraq supplemental funding bill, scheduled for a vote Friday.
“We’re just heartbroken that Nancy Pelosi has decided to keep funding George Bush’s war, and now the war belongs to the Democrats as well as the Republicans,” said Code Pink co-founder Medea Benjamin. “We thought we were going to get a change when they came into power.”

Lightbulb Legislation????

Bill to Ban Regular Light Bulbs Introduced in House
CNSNews.com...for full article

A Democratic lawmaker has introduced a bill that would ban the sale of traditional incandescent light bulbs - which are less energy-efficient, prompting claims that they contribute to "global warming" - one day after a colleague told a press conference that legislating a ban would be a "last choice."

As Cybercast News Service reported last week, Rep. Don Manzullo (R-Ill.) and Sen. Mark Pryor (D-Ark.) held a news conference Wednesday calling for more efficient lighting options, and Manzullo said "the last thing we want to do is force legislation down people's throats."

One day later, Rep. Jane Harman (D-Calif.) introduced legislation that would set target dates for certain types of light bulbs to be prohibited for sale in the United States.

Democrat Harman calls the bill :

"an important first step toward making every household, business and public building in America more energy-efficient."

"This legislation, while a small step, could have an enormous impact," she said in a posting on the liberal Huffington Post blog. "And hopefully, it can help transform America into an energy-efficient and energy-independent nation."

An average traditional incandescent bulb based on a filament emits 12-15 lumens per watt (a measurement of the bulb's lighting output.) Harman's bill would require all bulbs to produce 60 lumens-per-watt by January 2012; 90 lumens-per-watt by January 2016; and 120 lumens-per-watt by January 2020.

On the same topic this is unbelievable! Look at this story...............

Broken light bulb sparks debate

BANGOR - Compact fluorescent lights, those swirly bulbs displacing the old incandescent type in many homes, have become the darlings of the energy-conscious crowd, thanks to their capacity to both fight global warming and lower utility bills.

But with more than a million bulbs sold in Maine, questions are being raised about whether consumers know enough about the special disposal and handling requirements that come with these well-documented energy-savers.

In one unusual case, a Prospect woman was told recently that it could cost $2,000 to clean up the mess left by a single shattered bulb.

Officials with the Maine Department of Environmental Protection have since said that such a costly cleanup is probably unnecessary. Most homeowners can safely dispose of broken bulbs without professional help, and most Maine towns offer bulb recycling options, the DEP said.

Maine law requires homeowners to recycle the bulbs as "universal waste" similar to certain batteries and used thermostats. Most towns accept universal waste at special locations or during specific household hazardous waste collection days.

Bridges’ trust in the new technology literally shattered this week when a minor incident with a loose bulb turned into a major headache. A bulb she was trying to rethread tumbled from her hands and broke on the carpeted floor of her daughter’s bedroom.

Remembering lessons from shop class about fluorescent bulbs, Bridges began calling around for advice on the proper cleanup procedure.

"I was nervous. Something about this gave me a bad feeling," Bridges said in an interview.

She called The Home Depot, where she bought the bulb, and was referred to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which eventually referred her to the DEP’s environmental response team. A specialist who responded found mercury readings more than six times the state’s acceptable level at the spot of the broken bulb.

Readings a few feet from the spot where the bulb broke were within safe levels.

The specialist referred Bridges to an environmental cleanup company. The estimated cost, according to Bridges, was about $2,000.

"Save 40 cents a month on your electric bill, but it will cost you two grand to clean up?" Bridges said.

State officials, while careful not to downplay the overall threat posed by mercury, said the high levels found in the spot of the broken bulb would only be dangerous from long-term exposure.

Wild Thing's comment.......

You have GOT to be kidding me! So Harmon the Democrat Pinko-Commie lawmaker has introduced a bill about lightbulbs. Can't Harmon think of another way to kiss up to Gore, this is unreal.

Like lightbulbs are the biggest danger to the American people. These dems and their wimpy RINO friends are an absolute waste of humanity. Light bulbs are OK, we should have a bill to ban dim bulbs in Congress.

Politicians should be banned from sticking their fingers into the technology pie like this. They're not qualified to make such decisions, nevermind the fact that they're grossly overstepping the proper bounds on their power.

My understanding is that Florescent lights wont come on in really cold weather. I might be wrong about this, I am not positive. They would be worthless for outdoor use in the northern states.

Then of course the democrats will complain of the toxic waste from the florescent lightbulbs. And they will pass another bill to add like the cost of throwing them away will be very expensive if they have their way about it. They contain more Mercury than the regular bulbs, thus making them toxic waste and this kind of surcharge will lead to illegal dumping of the used bulbs.

A friend told me that if you put them in poorly ventilated fixtures that are typical for incandescent bulbs, they overheat and fail at a far shorter life than the incandescents they replace and can catch on fire.

Sooooo-- we get to pay for them over and over again. Very expensive in the first place, surcharge to dispose of them, and they don't work in large outdoor applications, especially in cold climates.

If this bill passes then I guess we can look for Light bulb disposal legislation coming.

How many Kennedys does it take to change a light bulb?

Three.

One to hold the bulb and two to drink until the room spins around.

Animal Rights Say "The zoo must kill the bear"

'We want this baby polar bear dead' say animal rights lobby

Tiny, fluffy and adorable, Knut the baby polar bear became an animal superstar after he was abandoned by his mother.

He rapidly became the symbol of Berlin Zoo, whose staff bottle-fed him and handed out cuddles in between.

At three months old, however, the playful 19lb bundle of fur is at the centre of an impassioned debate over whether he should live or die.

Animal rights activists argue that he should be given a lethal injection rather than brought up suffering the humiliation of being treated as a domestic pet.

The zoo must kill the bear," said spokesman Frank Albrecht. "Feeding by hand is not species-appropriate but a gross violation of animal protection laws."

When Knut was born in December, his mother ignored him and his brother, who died. Zoo officials intervened, choosing to raise the cub themselves.

But Albrecht and other activists fret that it is inappropriate for a predator, known for its fierceness and ability to fend for itself in the wild, to be snuggled, bottle-fed and made into a commodity by zookeepers.

Knut hat Ausgang (Knut gets out and about)

See YouTube footage of Knut here! (Note: commentary on the video is in German)

UPDATE on Knut
Baby polar bear 'will be spared,' proclaims zoo
Knut the cute Polar bear will NOT be destroyed despite fears over his 'humanisation', Berlin Zoo's chief vet said today.

Distraught schoolchildren waving placards saying ’Knut must live! and ’Knut does good!’ protested at the zoo’s Polar bear enclosure following the news that death might seriously be an option for the star draw of the animal kingdom.

But Knut has been spared. "There will be no executioner coming for him, I guarantee you," said Berlin Zoo chief vet Andre Schuele.

"Those who say he should die have entirely the wrong mindset."

His keeper Thomas Doerflein, Knut’s surrogate mother, gave the little bear a washing up brush as a toy to play with when the news was announced on Tuesday that he is to be spared.

Wild Thing's comment.......

You all know how I adore bears, teddybears too of course. I realize that one has to be careful with animals of the wild not to take their natural instintcs away from them. But these Zoo people have saved this Cub's life. The Cub was abandoned by his mother, and would have died if the Zoo had not done what they did for him.

He is precious and has been given a chance at life and how anything can be wrong with that I will never understand.

Gore Won't Behave By Senate Rules

Al Gore Refuses to Listen to Republican Opening Statements

CNSNews.com)

Former Vice President Al Gore apparently will brook no skepticism. Given the opportunity to testify about global warming before the House Energy and Commerce Committee on Wednesday, Gore decided to arrive late, so he wouldn't have to suffer through the Republican opening statement.

He was seen waiting in a hall outside the committee room, Fox News reported. Republicans agreed to waive their opening remarks in exchange for extra time to question Gore.

Republicans also objected to the fact that they received Gore's written testimony at 7 a.m. Wednesday morning -- hours after Democrats received it.

"How are we supposed to prepare questions for our esteemed witness when we're basically given the testimony two hours before he shows up?" asked one committee Republican.

Republicans complained that Gore was getting special treatment. The hearing entitled "Perspectives on Climate Change" will also feature Gore critic, Dr. Bjorn Lomborg, adjunct professor at the Copenhagen Consensus Center in Denmark and author of the controversial book "The Skeptical Environmentalist."

Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works

Gore demanded a waiver of the EPW committee’s 48 hour rule that requires all witnesses before EPW to submit their testimony in advance. The GOP minority on the EPW committee then agreed to waive the 48 hour rule in favor of allowing Gore to submit his testimony 24 hours before the hearing.

Gore has violated the new 24 hour deadline extension by failing to submit his testimony – even with the new time extension granted to Gore.

Wild Thing's comment......

Gore plays by his own rules. He's a dhimmicrat, not an American. Gore is running scared I think. He should be as anyone with half a brain knows that Global Warming is only for political activists, a hoax in humongous form!

Hahahahahaha what a jerk he is, a corrupt, sicko...oh wait...he is a Dem, that explains it all.

Enemies of the USA and our Military ~ These people are Pure Evil

Vile, monsters in Portland, Oregon, as “anti-war” demonstrators burned not only a US flag, but a US soldier in effigy.

It ended up confronting the police after the "peace" march and, after some arrests, they tried to lay siege to the jail to free their comrades. The police were ready and it ended in a multi hour standoff(the police would charge the anarchists line, discharge some pepper spray, which caused the anarchists to retreat. Disgusting and treasonous behavior in Portland.

It reminds me of Palestinian terrorists burning American and Israeli flags, they are all on the same side.

Saddam's Former Deputy Hanged in Iraq

BAGHDAD (AP)

The former deputy in Saddam Hussein's government was hanged before dawn Tuesday for the killings of 148 Shiites, an official with the prime minister's office said. Taha Yassin Ramadan, who was Saddam's vice president when the regime was ousted by the U.S.-led invasion that began four years ago Tuesday in Iraq, was the fourth man to be executed in the killings of 148 Shiites following a 1982 assassination attempt against the former leader in the town of Dujail north of Baghdad.

The official, who witnessed the hanging but spoke on condition of anonymity because an official announcement had not been made, said precautions had been taken to prevent a repeat of what happened to Saddam's half brother and co-defendant Barzan Ibrahim, who was inadvertently decapitated on the gallows.

Ramadan, who was nearly 70, was weighed before the hanging and the length of the rope was chosen accordingly, the official said.

The execution took place at an Iraqi army and police base, which had been the headquarters of Saddam's military intelligence, in a predominantly Shiite district in northern Baghdad. Ramadan had been in U.S. custody but was handed over to the Iraqis before the hanging, the official said.

Wild Thing's comment.......

They hanged him on the anniversary of the invasion of Iraq. This is symbolic - a reminder of who is in charge. God bless our troops!

Miracle in Washington ~ GOE Part Two Photos and Article

Miracle in Washington
Gathering of Eagles warm graves of fallen soldiers:

Canada Free Press

By Judi McLeod ( founder of Canada Free Press)

Sunday, March 18, 2007

Yesterday, St. Patrick's Day 2007, a group of ordinary patriots, known nobly as The Gathering of Eagles, achieved something no one else ever could.

Ragtag by nature, Gathering of Eagles' membership includes the wounded, both walking and in wheelchairs, the gratefully and proudly ageing and the living-with-the-memory-of-lost- loved ones, brokenhearted. Some lie awake nights worrying about loved ones still in harm's way, but the one human emotion missing from Gathering of Eagle members is disillusion. All because if there was any chance the touted anti-war protesters were going to desecrate war memorials, then The Gathering of Eagles members were going to be there--no matter from how far away they had to come, no matter in what shape March 17 was to find them in.

When they came to the call of Move America Forward, they knew in their hearts that they would be up against it. March 17 was not only the 40th anniversary of the Mother of all anti-war protests, when a decades-ago massive march to the Pentagon demanded an end to the war in Vietnam, it was also being marked as the 4th Anniversary of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Capitalizing on the past, and gathering at a time when the Nancy Pelosi Democrats control the White House, the anti-war movement was flooding Washington, D.C. this weekend with a once-and-for-all demand for America to surrender the War on Terrorism.

Veterans joining up with the Gathering of Eagles from as far away as Hawaii, knew from the outstart they could be vastly outnumbered in body, but never in spirit.

From a heralding media, hundreds of thousands were said to be descending upon Washington. Jane Fonda would be there to meet them. The mainstream media, so many sadly in sync with the "U.S. Out of Iraq Now" crowd, would ensure that the other side would get little network attention.

Mother Nature brought the dawning of a cold day with proof from the age-old adage that "March wind (is) colder than snow."

Even though the counter protest was to be resoundingly successful, only snippets of what took place in Washington was to flicker briefly from yesterday's suppertime news.

But 'These Colors Don't Run', and this is what the troop-loving Move America Forward and the Gathering of Eagles accomplished against all odds.

The hundreds of thousands the anti-war movement promised did not descend on the nation's capital to mark a 40th anniversary destined never be forgotten. They numbered only in the thousands--and part of those thousands included the less protest savvy Other Side! Indeed, Fox News reported that the crowd totaled several thousand with as many from The Gathering of Eagles as from the anti-war crowd.

Jane Fonda was a no show. Not being able to count on Al Gore's global warming, perhaps she thought she'd get her tinted feathers wet.

Big-talking Hollywood celebrities left Cindy Sheehan out in the cold on her own.

Yesterday's sea change was bound to usher in a new chapter in history. The anti-war protesters were in Washington trying to sustain a 40-year-old memory with tired, old chants like the standby "Impeach Bush" one.

The Gathering of Eagles was in Washington to protect war memorials erected to honor the fallen and in a symbolic show of love for all living troops in harm's way.

One thing for anti-war protesters to hint at desecrating war memorials. One thing for a media to remain silent when soldiers are spit upon. Quite another to meet from the distance of right across the street, the steely-eyed glint of the veterans of real wars.

Yesterday was a televised pageant of play soldiers fighting war from the safety of a world away, meeting face on, the real McCoys, a sort of underplayed Gathering of Eagles vs. the Moonbats.

As the event played out, not all of the teared over eyes from the faces in the crowd were the result of whipping Washington winds.

There was an unforgettable reason.

For the week leading up to yesterday's anniversary protest, a caravan of families who lost children in the war on terrorism, families who still have loved ones serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, and veterans of Vietnam, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom had crossed the nation hoping to get a single message across: "Surrender is not an option."

Melanie Morgan's Move America Forward caravan must have hit the road with niggling worry laced in with hope as it left San Francisco.

Anyone following the progress of the Caravan of Hope must have been misty eyed when reading about what happened within only hours of that departure. The caravan with its 10,000 flags to be sent as proof to troops fighting for freedom was mobbed along the way! Patient school children, holding homemade flags waited curbside for the caravan to pass by. Veterans wearing medals, school choirs sounding like singing angels and Americans from all walks of life left their kitchens to be there when the Move America Forward caravan was passing through Small Town America. By Texas, enthused crowds were so large, a police escort led the caravan along its way.

Little wonder why Washington winds couldn't extinguish heart warmth the caravan reached its final destination.

When history is written, March 17th, 2007 will at long last eclipse March 17, 1967, as the day when soldiers in faraway Iraq and Afghanistan knew for certain, no matter what real time saw them doing, love and respect await their safe return. The day when it was proven to a watching world that Washington war memorials stand for what they always stood for, time immemorial, the day when the graves of fallen American soldiers the world were warmer.

God Blessed The Gathering of Eagles. They did it!

Target Kiss Up To Muslim Workers

Mohamed Muse, 20, was hired six months ago at the St. Louis Park Target, where he works in the produce section so he doesn't have to handle pork products.

Target Is Transferring Cashiers Who Avoid Pork
Star Tribune

In the wake of community criticism, Target Corp. is reassigning its Muslim cashiers who refuse to ring up pork products for religious reasons to other jobs at the stores. Target received a wave of criticism earlier this week after the Star Tribune reported in a front-page article that some Muslim cashiers at Target declined to scan bacon and other pork products. They would call over another cashier to ring up the products, or in some cases, ask customers to do it themselves.

Some customers called and wrote Target to complain about the practice; a few called for a general boycott of Target on the Star Tribune's community blog, buzz.mn.

After the story appeared, Target asked Muslim cashiers who refuse to handle pork to wear gloves or transfer to other areas of the stores. In some cases, Muslim cashiers will be given the option of transferring to other stores.

"We are confident that this is a reasonable solution for our guests and team members," Target spokeswoman Paula Thornton-Greear said in a statement. It remains unclear whether wages would be affected by any job transfers; cashiers are generally entry-level positions at Target.

Each Target store appears to have some leeway in implementing the new policy. At the downtown Minneapolis Target, employees were called into one-on-one meetings Thursday and asked whether they were opposed to handling pork for religious reasons. Those who said yes were told they could no longer work as cashiers during the store's busiest hours, 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., according to an employee at the store who requested anonymity.

At the SuperTarget off Hwy. 7 in St. Louis Park, which has a full grocery section, Muslim cashiers who said they refuse to handle pork were transferred Thursday to the sales floor to stock shelves or fold clothes. It remained unclear whether that change is permanent. The store manager declined to be interviewed, and Thornton-Greear said the company wouldn't discuss the situation at specific stores.

Suhara Robla, a 20-year-old employee at the store, said more than a dozen Muslim cashiers were asked Thursday to do other jobs. "They told all of us who don't touch pork to go to the sales floor," she said. "They really didn't say why. They just said it was a new policy."

Wild Thing's comment........

They should be transferred out the back door. There is absolutely no reason to accomodate these lunatics.

Islam is a disease trying to destroy us from within.
They learned the value of the "protest" from the left. They want to destroy us bit by bit; protest by protest.

Gathering of Eagles ~ God Bless You !

This is a great video clip.

The National Parks Service notified GOE with their

official estimate of the Eagle turn-out today…...
.

30,000!

Fox News reported today that the anti-war protesters had significantly less than they expected. However, they are erroneously reporting that the Eagles were there in “equal numbers”. The truth is that we outnumbered them by at least three to one!

Consider…ANSWER had a year to plan their well-publicized event and were hoping for around 100,000. They actually drew about 5,000-10,000, according to various news reports today. The Gathering of Eagles, on the other hand, had about six weeks to plan an unprecedented response - and with no advertising, no publicity, no celebrity or political endorsement, no news coverage, and no big money, we had about 30,000 boots on the ground!

And this from the Washington Post......

"This is sacred ground to us," said Rick De Marco, 62, a Vietnam veteran from Cleveland.

K.C. O'Brien, 65, a Vietnam vet from Fairfield, Calif., said: "We believe in freedom of speech. We're here to defend the right of people to say whatever they want. But we will not allow any desecration."

"That was the real catalyst, right there," said Navy veteran Larry Bailey. "They showed they were willing to desecrate something that's sacred to the American soul."

A group of Iraq veterans standing up to the unwashed and drugged up loonies

An Account from a Vietnam Vet that was there...................

"The GEO folks were continuous all the way down Constitution Avenue from about 19th street to the 21 st street. Down in that region, all the interior walkways toward the Vietnam Wall and the Lincoln Memorial were crammed and slow as the two way stream was greater than the paths could carry.

The primary goal, was the wall. There were at least three very long lines several people wide waiting to pass the electronic machines to enter the wall area. The screening was intense. It apppeared the actual number at the wall was being controlled because the number there was exceedded many, many time by the number patiently waiting. This was a very important event by its self because waiting meant getting aquainted with others near by in the lines. The waiting in very long lines on the cold windy morning will be the stuff stories are made of.

The crowd was positivelyt amazing. There were literally thousands of good guys there in knots of ten ot twelve. They were mostly military and they were in full voice.

There was a bottleneck to the Wall, there were two or three very long and 4 or 5 deeop lines to pass the metal detectors to get in. You can be assured that given the mood of the morning, any one who tried to destroy the good feelings, camaraderie and deface the wall would have been crucified on the spot.

All the sidewalks and paths anywhere near the Lincoln Memorial were packed.

We had permits for the inner circle of the lincoln Memorial. It was solid and 4 or 5 deep on street level and many many more on an elevated wall behind them. There were still more in the grass behind all that. The marchers were presented with jeers and chants from a literal stack of people all the way round the arc of the Lincoln Memorial.

Having attended one or two other moonbat parades where we were truly outnumbered by a very very large margin, I was flabbergasted at the GOE turnout. Awesome is not a term I use, but the Gathering of Eagles was AWRSOME.

I noted above that it seemesd as if people did not know where to go or perhaps what to do. The fact is, it didn't matter. It was cold, but it was sunny and nice. It didn't matter where they went because they were there in a massive show of bodies dedicated to sending a message and it was obvious beyond any doubt they were suceeding.

The opportunity to gather with buddies and other groups of like minded knots of people may be with out precedent. The opportuntity to put on the stuff, the black leathers or camo adorned with riotus color of patches and medals and insignia, and to see thousands of others similarly dressed must be an important life time event. This is especiallly true when the individuals in the mass can vocally vent against the miserable yellow sign carrying moonbats.

It is dangerous to overestimate the significance of one day's events, but today may have been a tipping point. Thousands came out on a blustery day, probably for the very first time, to protest the antiwar types. They had a very good time. They met plenty of likeminded souls. They waved flags, they prayed, they cried.

Next year? Wouldn't miss it....... that will be the thoughts in thousands of minds. "

Wild Thing's comment.......
God bless you! And, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, a million times THANK YOU for ONCE AGAIN defending us and standing up for our great country! Welcome home and please know that you and all veterans and military now serving are appreciated by millions of Americans.

GOE not only protected The Wall, but also other Monuments including the Vietnam Nurses Memorial.

Extremists Signing Up to Be School Bus Drivers

FBI: Extremists Signing Up to Be School Bus Drivers
FoxNews

WASHINGTON

The FBI has issued an "informational bulletin" to state and local officials saying to watch out for people tied to extremist groups trying to earn licenses to drive school buses.

The Associated Press reports that members of the unnamed extremist groups have succeeded in gaining the drivers licenses, but a Department of Homeland Security official told FOX News that "at this time there is no evidence that any of these individuals have got these jobs, or got hold of school buses."

"There is no plot. There is no threat. And parents and children can feel perfectly safe," FBI spokesman Richard Kolko told FOXNews.com.

The Department of Homeland Security official said the bulletin was sent to state and local law enforcement officials, and "some school districts have reported an increased number of foreign nationals seeking school bus driver positions and a number of other unusual events."

The official said that, out of an abundance of caution, FBI shared the information.

An unnamed counterterrorism official told The Associated Press that the bulletin — sent Friday to state and local law enforcement agencies — did not say how often foreign extremists attempted to get licenses or drive school buses, and did not specify where this might have happened.

The bulletin noted "recent suspicious activity" by foreigners who either drive school buses or are licensed to drive them, the official told The Associated Press.

Foreigners under recent investigation include "some with ties to extremist groups" who have been able to "purchase buses and acquire licenses," the bulletin says.

But the Homeland Security Department and the FBI "have no information indicating these individuals are involved in a terrorist plot against the homeland," it says. The memo also notes: "Most attempts by foreign nationals in the United States to acquire school bus licenses to drive them are legitimate."

It was not immediately clear whether the extremists intended to do with the school buses. One counterterror official, who spoke with The Associated Press on condition of anonymity, said it was likely that the foreigners investigated were merely employed as bus drivers, and did not intend to use them as part of any terror plot.

"I hate to characterize this as a warning," Kolko said, calling it an "informational bulletin." He said this was part of routine information sent to local law enforcement agencies that they should use only as background information while doing their normal duties.
"This is just an awareness issue for local law enforcement. ... It just makes them smarter," he said.

Kolko said that if he knew which extremist groups were involved in the report, he would not identify them.

Wild Thing's comment.....

Can you imagine the day when all over America, terrorists blow just ONE bus up in the school bus lines and kill hundreds if not thousands at each school all over the nation? This isn't just terrorism. This is freaking war!

Members of extremist groups have signed up as school bus drivers in the United States, counterterror officials said Friday, in a cautionary bulletin to police. An FBI spokesman said "parents and children have nothing to fear."

What the heck?? Nothing to fear?? They say they are from extremists groups but nothing to fear. good grief!
Our government has simply gone mad.

It is one thing that they are signing-up. The more important matter is, are we hiring them? That would be disturbing. Further, if they are dangerous why are we letting them run around free?

C-SPAN Washington Journal Says No to Gathering of Eagles and Yes To Anti Groups

Important Message

CSPAN decided: a) not to cover the Gathering of Eagles rally, and b) to cover the Workers World Party's rally against America.

Anti-War Rally
Act Now to Stop War & End Racism (A.N.S.W.E.R.)
Ramsey Clark , Department of Justice
Cynthia McKinney , D, Georgia (State)
The beginning and end of this live program may be earlier or later than the scheduled times.

With this deplorable decision, CSPAN has spit on the American military veteran. How can CSPAN make such a blatantly biased decision?

And what about the military veterans who support our troops and our country? Doesn't their voice also deserve to be heard tomorrow?

Every one of us who pays for cable television service pays to fund CSPAN's "balanced" public interest coverage, and our voices are just as relevant and just as deserving to be heard as those on the radical left who despise our country and our troops.

Our Vietnam veterans were spit on forty years ago. Today, CSPAN is spitting on all of our veterans by giving coverage to the Workers World Party/International ANSWER rally and ignoring the opposing point of view.

If you want to, I am going to call and when you do call on whatever line you can get in on.

Washington Journal begins at 7am on Saturday, and it runs at least two hours, maybe three.

In Honor Of The Brigade At The Battle of Fredericksburg on St. Patrick's Day

Mark thank you for posting this in the comments. It is so good I wanted to put it as a post. Thank you so much.

In honor of St Patricks day, a day early since I won't be at my terminal. To all the Legal Immigrants who made this country possible.

Briefly this was written, after the Battle of Fredericksburg, in honor of the Brigade that put it on the line for their adopted country. Before the Battle General Maehger ordered all of his Brigade to put sprigs of 'Boxwood' in their caps, so that the whole world could see that the Irish died facing the enemy. On that fateful day the made 13 assaults on Maryre's Heights all were dismal failures.

THE IRISH DEAD ON FREDERICKSBURG HEIGHTS

Softly let thy footprints fall,

Upon this holy ground,

In reverence deep,

For those who sleep,

Beneath each lowly mound

Here hath many a noble son,

Of trodden mother land,

Whose joy thro' life,

Was hope of strife.

For their love of native land.

They came from Carlow's fertile plains,

And Wexford's woody vales,

From Innisbowen,

And green Tyrone,

And Wicklow's hills and dales.

They came to seek amid the free,

Homes to reward their toil,

In which to see

That liberty

Unknown on Erin's soil.

And well they loved the chosen land;

When menaced was her might,

Each grsteful heart

A willing part

Took in her cause to fight.

And her they lie in unblessed earth,

No kindred eye to weep,

Far, far away,

From the abbey's grey.

Where the sires and grandsires sleep.

Oh! Many a matron, many a maid,

Mourn in their native isle,

For the dear ones here,

Who no more shall cheer

Their hearts by their gladsome smile.

In many an ancient chapel there,

Nestled on the green hill side,

Will the good priest pray,

On the Sabbath day,

For his boys who in battle died.

Let us offer too, our orisons,

For each of the mayyr band,

Who nobly gave

Their lives to save

The might of their adopted land.

Berlin, Conn.Travel To Join Gathering of Eagles

Berlin Residents to Protect Monuments (Connecticut Vets Travel to Join Gathering of Eagles)
new britain herald

Berlin, Conn.

In recent years, veterans have felt disrespected as war and recognition monuments in Washington, D.C., have been defaced by individuals who have joined in the Act Now to Stop War and End Racism (ANSWER) annual March, but several residents have said they won't let it happen again.

This Saturday, a group of individuals led by former Marine and Berlin resident Salvatore Sena will go to Washington to protect the monuments and protest any attempts to deface the property by forming a human wall, joining hand in hand with others from across the nation and even Canada.

"Word has come around that a group of extremists has plans to exercise their freedom of speech and protest the war by defacing national monuments," Sena said in an e-mail correspondence with The Herald. "I feel that enough is enough and that's why I will be joining my fellow Americans in guarding and protecting our national monuments in D.C."

The decision to provide a protective human shield around the monuments came after several individuals who had marched in the anti-war protests held in March 2006 turned to vandalism during the event, causing damage to the Vietnam Memorial through what they have said was "an act of freedom of speech" in opposition to war efforts.

Sena said he and other participants from the Berlin area, several being members of the Marine Corps League, are traveling to the site to take part in a peaceful protest of their march with a group known as the Gathering of Eagles.

The group will include individuals from across the United States and veteran soldiers currently residing in Canada. These participants come from all walks of life including organizations such as the Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Riders, Patriot Guard Riders, National Order of the Purple Heart, Gold Star and Blue Star Mothers, and various veterans' groups and POW organizations.

According to Sena, the extremists involved with ANSWER and Code Pink, a second group that will join in the march, represent only 17 percent of society. He said with a joint effort from many in the other 83 percent, he is confident they can protect the monument from a destructive fate in 2007.

Once ANSWER was made aware that there would be a peaceful standoff at the Vietnam Memorial in Constitution Park, it rescheduled its rally to be held at the Henry Beacon Drive Park. This was later named a starting point for its march toward the Pentagon.

The Gathering of Eagles will use Constitution Park as its gathering point and Sena said they will protect several area monuments, not just the Vietnam Memorial. Leaders also encourage participants to arrive early and stay aware as they believe extremists may still attempt to sneak through lines to deface the property.

"As an American veteran, I cannot and will not stand for this type of behavior from any extremist," said Sena in the e-mail. "I hold too much respect for the soldier who gave up his or her life for our country."

No To Dems Plan To Pullout Of Iraq And NOT To Fund The War

U.S. Senators (L-R) Jim Webb (D-VA), Charles Schumer (D-NY) and Harry Reid (D-NV)
appear at a news conference

Senate GOP turns back Iraq pullout plan

WASHINGTON

Democrats aggressively challenged President Bush's Iraq policy at both ends of the Capitol on Thursday, gaining House committee approval for a troop withdrawal deadline of Sept. 1, 2008, but suffering defeat in the Senate on a less sweeping plan to end U.S. participation in the war.

In the House, only one committee Democrat, liberal Rep. Barbara Lee of California, voted against her party's plan, saying it did not go far enough. "I believe the American people sent a mandate to us to bring home our men and women before the end of the year," she said.

Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky led the opposition to the measure.

"This is a dangerous piece of legislation. It is constitutionally dubious and it would authorize a scattered band of United States senators to tie the hand" of the commander in chief, he said. McConnell said it would be "absolutely fatal" to the mission of U.S. troops in Iraq.
For their part, Republicans sought to create a political dilemma for Democrats, countering with an alternative measure that said "no funds should be cut off or reduced for American troops in the field" that would undermine their safety.

GOP leaders hoped the proposal, advanced by Sen. Judd Gregg of New Hampshire, would prove difficult for Democrats to oppose and complicate any future effort to reduce funds for the war.

Gregg's amendment passed 82-16.

Democrats tried still another proposal, this one saying that Congress would provide "necessary funds for training equipment and other support for troops in the field." It passed easily, 96-2.

The House timetable was part of a spending bill that totals $124 billion, $95.5 billion of which is targeted for the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Wild Thing's comment.........

The Reid Amendment has failed. It was the one which would restrict the President’s ability to direct the use of force, and set a deadline for withdrawal of March 31, 2008. The Democrats didn’t even get a plurality – the Reid Amendment lost 50-48.

The Gregg Amendment – i.e., Congress should not eliminate/reduce funds for troops in the field – has passed 82–16.

The Murray Amendment – i.e., Congress should provide funds for training, equipment and other support for troops in the field; and health care to those who have served – has passed 96-2

The message that has been sent is that the Senate has thoroughly rejected defunding the mission!! This ia a huge rejection of the enemy within's agenda and demand that Democrats vote to defund and withdraw immediately.

UK Church School Renames Three Little Pigs

School Changes Name of Play to 'Three Little Puppies' to Avoid Offending Muslims

Daily mail.co.UK

Little Red Riding Hood ... Hansel and Gretel ... the Three Little Puppies?

Gill Goodswen, head teacher of Stile Common Junior School, defending the move.

She said: "We have to be sensitive if we want to be multi-cultural. It was felt it would be more responsible not to use the three little pigs.

"We feared that some Muslim children wouldn't sing along to the words about pigs,' she said.

"We didn't want to take that risk. If changing a few words avoids offence then we will do so."

The story of the Three Little Pigs' battle with the Big Bad Wolf has delighted children since it was written more than 150 years ago.

But the tale highlighting the merits of hardwork and practicality has become the latest to fall victim to political correctness.

A junior school production of the children's story has been renamed the Three Little Puppies for fear of offending Muslims.

Organisers of a children's music festival have altered the popular characters and lyrics because of the multi-cultural nature of the youngsters involved and their parents in the audience.

Children from Honley Church of England Junior School in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, were due to perform in a reworking of the popular tale which features the three little pigs.

The youngsters - aged from seven to 11 - were due to perform at Huddersfield Town Hall in June with 250 children from 63 schools singing along.

But organisers of the Kirklees Primary Music Festival decided to change the script to be 'sensitive' to Muslims at a recent committee meeting.

Wild Thing's comment........

This is so absurd ! "Three Little Puppies"? Earth to school, Muslims consider puppies unclean. Why don't the Brits just hand their country over to the towelheads and get it over with? This slow, drip, drop, drip destruction of British, Anglo-Saxon culture is too painful to witness.

The Six Imams Need To Learn Of Our Outrage About This!

Katherine Kersten: The real target of the 6 imams' 'discrimination' suit
Star Tribune...for complete article

The "flying imams' " federal lawsuit, filed this week in Minneapolis, has made headlines around the country. The imams are demanding unspecified damages from US Airways and the Metropolitan Airports Commission, both with deep pockets. But their suit includes other defendants, as yet unnamed. These people, unaffiliated with the airline industry or government, are among the imams' most vulnerable targets.

Their lawsuit appears to be the latest component in a national campaign to intimidate airlines and government agencies from acting prudently to ensure passenger safety. The Council on American-Islamic Relations, which is advising the imams, is also calling for congressional hearings and promoting federal legislation to "end racial profiling" in air travel. If the legislation passes, airport personnel who disproportionately question passengers who are Muslim or of Middle Eastern origin could be subject to sanctions.

But the most alarming aspect of the imams' suit is buried in paragraph 21 of their complaint. It describes "John Doe" defendants whose identity the imams' attorneys are still investigating. It reads: "Defendants 'John Does' were passengers ... who contacted U.S. Airways to report the alleged 'suspicious' behavior of Plaintiffs' performing their prayer at the airport terminal."

Paragraph 22 adds: "Plaintiffs will seek leave to amend this Complaint to allege true names, capacities, and circumstances supporting [these defendants'] liability ... at such time as Plaintiffs ascertain the same."

In plain English, the imams plan to sue the "John Does," too.

But the most alarming aspect of the imams’ suit is buried in paragraph 21 of their complaint. It describes “John Doe” defendants whose identity the imams’ attorneys are still investigating. It reads: “Defendants ‘John Does’ were passengers ... who contacted U.S. Airways to report the alleged ‘suspicious’ behavior of Plaintiffs’ performing their prayer at the airport terminal.”

Paragraph 22 adds: “Plaintiffs will seek leave to amend this Complaint to allege true names, capacities, and circumstances supporting [these defendants’] liability ... at such time as Plaintiffs ascertain the same.”

In plain English, the imams plan to sue the “John Does,” too.

Who are these unnamed culprits? The complaint describes them as “an older couple who was sitting [near the imams] and purposely turn[ed] around to watch” as they prayed. “The gentleman (’John Doe’) in the couple ... picked up his cellular phone and made a phone call while watching the Plaintiffs pray,” then “moved to a corner” and “kept talking into his cellular phone.”

In retribution for this action, the unnamed couple probably will be dragged into court soon and face the prospect of hiring a lawyer, enduring hostile questioning and paying huge legal bills. The same fate could await other as-yet-unnamed passengers on the US Airways flight who came forward as witnesses.

The imams’ attempt to bully ordinary passengers marks an alarming new front in the war on airline security.

Wild Thing's comment......

This has been such an obvious set up and CAIR the terrorists lover organization is a huge part of it as they always are. GRRRRRRRRRRR

I think every passenger on the plane should sue the six imams for harrassment and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

The imans had three objectives:
1) Further inflame Muslims against the USA by portraying America as a country that harasses and bullies them;
2) Test our aviation security arrangements;
3) Use the shopworn "profiling" dodge to intimidate law enforcement and airline personnel from taking reasonable and prudent measures to protect the flying public.
With the help of the MSM,the Imans achieved objective #1. Under a Democratic administration, security and scrutiny will almost certainly be downgraded, achieving objective #3. Pelosi has already said that the imans' removal from the plane may be a case of "profiling." God help us if these people ever again hold the Congress and the Executive branch.

Before the imams boarded, they were ``praying loudly in the gate area. Some were heard to be making statements against the U.S. involvement in Iraq,'' Pat Hogan, spokesman for the airport, said in an interview today.

Some of the six repeatedly said ``Allah'' as they boarded, then asked to change seats and requested safety-belt extensions that they put under their seats, Hogan said. One was overheard to say he would ``go to whatever measures necessary to obey all that is set out in the Koran,'' Hogan said. ( source...Bloomberg report)

Why Do They Want Our Guns?

The All-American Gun
NY Post

"ARMED AMERICA": THE REMARKABLE STORY OF HOW AND WHY GUNS BECAME AS AMERICAN AS APPLE PIE
Book by CLAYTON E. CRAMER

John R. Lott Jr. is the author of this article about the book

Did you know that in New York City through 1969 virtually all the public high schools had riflery teams?

Thousands of students carried their rifles on subways, buses and streets on their way to school, when they went to practice in the afternoon and on their way home. And until 1963, all commercial pilots were required to carry guns and were allowed to carry guns until 1987.

Gun laws have certainly changed over time.

Today towns such as Kennesaw, Ga., Greenfeld, Idaho, and Geuda Springs, Kan., which all require residents to own guns, are considered odd. But Clayton Cramer's terrific new book, "Armed America," shows that, in fact, gun ownership has been deeply woven into this country's fabric since the colonial period.

Cramer proves that guns aren't inherently the problem. In our day, criminals may have replaced Indians as a danger facing most citizens, but it may also shock many readers to learn how comfortable Americans once were with their guns.

In colonial times, as Cramer argues, people didn't own guns just for hunting. Numerous laws mandated that people have guns for personal defense and defense of the community, at home, while traveling and even in church.

Heads of households, whether men or women, were required to have a gun at home and fines of up to a month's wages were imposed on those who failed to meet this requirement.

In some states such as Maryland, fines were paid directly to inspectors so that authorities had a strong incentive to check. The only people exempt from these rules were Quakers, some indentured servants or, in the South, blacks.

Fear of attack by Indians and England's European enemies meant that people were required to own and carry guns when traveling, though sometimes older people were exempted.

At least six colonies required people to have guns with them at church. Church officials were required to check parishioners when they arrived for services to ensure they had a gun. Clergymen were required to have guns, too. Contrast that with the political firestorms that erupt these days when states merely let churches decide whether concealed-handgun permit holders can carry guns on church property.

In our day, only about 45 percent of households own a gun, whereas gun ownership in Colonial America was much higher, as measured by probate records. Guns were bequeathed to the next generation in about 70 percent of cases.

The fascinating firsthand historical accounts that Cramer provides indicate that guns were cheap, readily available and essentially everywhere. Given America's historical amnesia, Cramer's book helps to remind us about that part of our history many now find improbable.

Wild Thing's comment......

Our guns are what let us know we can always protect ourselves if we had to. Sometimes just the knowledge that a person has a gun or guns is enough to stop a crime like the article says about this book. I agree 100% with that. I pray we never see the day that anyone will be coming to get our guns.

9/11 Mastermind Confesses In Guantanamo

9/11 mastermind confesses in Guantanamo

WASHINGTON

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the suspected mastermind of the Sept. 11 attacks, confessed to that attack and a string of others during a military hearing at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, according to a transcript released Wednesday by the military.

Mohammed claimed responsibility for planning, financing, and training others for bombings ranging from the 1993 attack at the World Trade Center to the attempt by would-be shoe bomber Richard Reid to blow up a trans-Atlantic flight with explosives hidden in his shoes.

In all, Mohammed said he was responsible for planning 29 individual attacks, including many that were never executed. The comments were included in a 26-page transcript released by the Pentagon, which also blacked out some of his remarks.

The Pentagon also released transcripts of the hearings of Abu Faraj al-Libi and Ramzi Binalshibh.

Binalshibh is suspected of helping Mohammed with the Sept. 11, 2001, attack plan and is also linked to a foiled plot to crash aircraft into London's Heathrow Airport. Al-Libi is a Libyan who reportedly masterminded two bombings 11 days apart in Pakistan in December 2003 that targeted President Pervez Musharraf for his support of the U.S. led war on terror.

The hearings, which began last Friday, are being conducted in secret by the military as it tries to determine whether 14 alleged terrorist leaders should be declared "enemy combatants" who can be held indefinitely and prosecuted by military tribunals.

Hearings for six of the 14 have already been held. The military is not allowing reporters to attend the sessions and is limiting the information it provides about them, arguing that it wants to prevent sensitive information from being disclosed.

The 14 were moved in September from a secret CIA prison network to the prison at the U.S. naval base at Guantanamo Bay, where about 385 men are being held on suspicion of links to al-Qaida or the Taliban.

Wild Thing's comment.......

This is the transcript of the questioning. It is very interesting, and a little long. It is a pdf file. In the transcription he admits to involvement in an extraordinary range of criminal terrorist activity.

The Democrats must be very upset about this, since their objective is to close down Gitmo and bring the freakazoid Muslims to the USA.

Wild Thing's comment.........

200 hippies against 10 Vets protecting the memorial would be an unfair fight. In favor of the Vets!!!

It's a sad indictment, however, that they have to rise up again to protect a precious memorial dedicated to them because there are so many idiots and traitors in this country that threaten that same memorial and said idiots ARE NOT WORTH DEFENDING! Suchh as the likes of Cindy Sheehan and her worthless cohorts, among others!! God bless our Viet Nam Veterans and God bless 'em for their support of our Iraq war veterans!

Bush's Mexican "constituency" Serves Up Riot At HIs Visit

Mexicans tell Bush "Go to hell"
presstv

The U.S. Embassy in Mexico City was the latest scene where hundreds of demonstrators gathered around on Tuesday to protest the visit of U.S. President George W. Bush, and ended up attacking the riot police with concrete blocks, metal bars and tearing down barricades.

Mexican police responded with tear gas, pepper spray, and baton charges, throwing back rocks and clubbing demonstrators down. Several protesters were arrested or injured, one with blood pouring from his head.

The demonstrators burned U.S. flags and waved banners with slogans against the U.S. president such as, "Bush you are not welcome in Mexico. Go to Hell."

The vast majority of Mexicans oppose the war in Iraq and many also blame Bush for tough anti-immigration policies.

"We are in disagreement with the war policy," of Bush, said craftswoman Guadalupe Fernandez, 64, who was marching but not involved in the violence.

A group of about 30 masked protesters clad in black led the attack on the thick lines of riot police defending the U.S. Embassy.

When police fired tear gas and charged, the protesters scattered in all directions.

Lorenzo Fernandez, the commanding officer at the scene, said the police were only defending themselves.

"These are people who don't know how to demonstrate pacifically," Fernandez said.

In Merida, a southeastern city where Bush is meeting with Mexican President Felipe Calderon, about 100 protesters marched to his hotel for the second night in a row carrying Mexican flags and calling the U.S. president a "murderer."

Bush was having dinner with Calderon away from his hotel.

Wild Thing's comment.......

"Bush you are not welcome in Mexico. Go to Hell."

To which he should have replied, "What are you talking about? I'm already here."

"and many also blame Bush for tough anti-immigration policies"

Our response should be....illegal mexicans, go to hell, your not welcome in America!!!!

These are the people that want us to open our borders and let them come take whatever they want. Great way to act towards a host. I wish them ill, but keep it there.

A Visit To FOB Kalsu

The Things That Get You
usnews.com

FOB Kalsu
There are plenty of nasty ways to meet with death or injury in Iraq. Examples of some of the cleverest devices targeting American troops are mounted on large sheets of plywood outside a dining hall at FOB Kalsu, about 25 miles south of Baghdad. It's a sobering display of the ingenuity and resourcefulness of the enemy: antipersonnel mines hidden in household items, pressure-sensitive explosives fashioned from slats of wood and wire, garage door openers that trigger artillery shells to rip open tanks.

The letters IED, for improvised explosive device, have become forever associated with the war in Iraq. These weapons are the greatest day-to-day threat to U.S. forces.

The display at FOB Kalsu, intended to help troops recognize common IEDs, is a poignant reminder of the dangers that soldiers routinely face in or out of their vehicles. The variety known as explosively formed penetrators- which American officials assert are coming from Iran—are particularly dangerous because of their ability to penetrate even armored vehicles. An EFP consists of a short tube that acts as a barrel for a machine-milled concave copper plate. When the explosive charge detonates, the force of the explosion creates a hot copper projectile that shoots from the barrel at hypervelocity and through nearly anything in its path.

It's hard to fully appreciate the force of this small weapon, even seeing how it can punch a hole through a vehicle's armor. One EFP attack on an American light armored vehicle a few weeks ago sent a copper slug a distance of more than 70 yards, through a concrete wall, then through the rear of a car, tearing through the trunk and the front and back seats, and finally settling in the engine block. In this case, the slug missed its intended target, and no one was injured.

Increasingly sophisticated EFP attacks involve four or more such explosives timed to explode simultaneously or in sequence against a single target. "They are getting clever about aiming EFPs at the engine and troop compartments," says an American commander who witnessed an EFP attack.

But the EFPs against patrols and convoys are only the latest weapons of choice for targeting U.S. troops. Insurgents still use traditional military weapons like mortars as well. Either hand-held or mounted on the back of a pickup truck, mortars can fire an explosive shell a distance of a mile or so, delivering a powerful, if often inaccurate, punch.

Incidentally, the camp itself was named for the only recently active professional football player killed in the Vietnam War. First Lieutenant James Robert Kalsu, a Buffalo Bills defensivewas a lineman from the University of Oklahoma who was voted the Buffalo Bills team rookie of the year in 1968, his first and only season with the team. He was killed two years later in the A Shau Valley in Vietnam during a mortar attack in Vietnam on 21 July 1970.

U.S. Forces Blow Up Bombs Planted In Baghdad School

U.S. forces blow up bombs planted inside a school in Baghdad

voices of Iraq

The Iraqi police said on Wednesday that U.S. forces set off explosives planted inside a primary school in eastern Baghdad after the forces had dismissed all the pupils unharmed.

"We have received reliable intelligence that militiamen planted explosives inside al-Nabaa primary school in Ur neighborhood," the source told the independent news agency voices of Iraq (VOI).

The source added, "Pupils were dismissed unharmed while U.S. forces blew up the bombs."There were no casualties but the school fence was damaged and some windows were broken in the operation, he added.

Wild Thing's comment.......

The insurgents are inhuman beasts. They are driven solely by evil and are devoid of all humanity. They deserve to be hunted down and killed. Thank God someone spoke up of what was planned so our troops could protect the children.

Not that the Democrats would care since they would probably want to sit down with the insurgents over tea, and discuss what motivated them to do such a thing .......while the bombs were going off at the school in the background killing all the chilren.

Petraeus: Iran Training, Arming Militants

Gen. David Petraeus

Petraeus: Iran Training, Arming Militants
Las Vegas Sun

The top U.S. commander in Iraq said in an interview released Monday that it's "indisputable" Iran is training and arming militants to fight against U.S.-led troops in Iraq.

Gen. David Petraeus also told ABC News that suicide bombers are streaming across Iraq's border from Syria and making their way into the country's volatile western Anbar province.

His comments follow a harsh exchange of words over the weekend between the U.S. and Iran at a conference in Baghdad on Iraq's security. The U.S. envoy to the talks, David Satterfield, said he had evidence that Iran was arming Shiite Muslim militias in Iraq, which his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi, vehemently denied. He called such accusations a "cover" for U.S. failures in Iraq.

At the conference, both Iran and Syria pledged to support moves to stabilize Iraq, including reconciliation among Iraq's factions. But U.S. and Iraqi leaders have questioned Iran's commitment to backing such American-led efforts.

In the interview with ABC, Petraeus said cooperation from Iran and Syria would be key to stopping the violence in Iraq.

He said there are elements of Iran's Revolutionary Guards elite Quds Force that are training fighters and sending them into Iraq to fight U.S.-led forces. He said Iran is also sending "rockets, mortars and other explosives and munitions" into the country.

"That's indisputable and again it's a very, very problematic situation four our soldiers and Iraqi soldiers," he told ABC.
"And if it's something that can be brought to a halt through these initiatives of the Iraqi government, we would applaud that vigorously," he said, referring to the talks in Baghdad aimed at bringing security to the country.

Wild Thing's comment.......

Can we close the border with Iran? No trade, nothing! Then evacuate an area about 5 clicks wide along the border and declare it a free fire zone. Then slaughter anything that moves in that area???? Would that work to make our point we are fed up with this BS from Iran and heck Syria too.

Gene Simmons and Tommy Thayer at Camp Pendleton

Gene Simmons and Tommy Thayer at Camp Pendleton

Gene Simmons website

GENE SIMMONS FAMILY JEWELS tv crew filmed us at Camp Pendleton over a few days. Sophie and I first visited there and went through (one day's worth) of Basic Training.

Sophie, as the Marines like to say got and "Git Some"....ask a Marine what it means.

Then, Tommy Thayer and Darren Leader and Fran on fabulous bass got up and performed for a combine Military Force of Navy, Army, Air Force and Marines....

It was a very emotional experience and would make anyone proud of the men and women who risk their lives -- without asking for anything...without getting fame or recognition...without much pay (a few hundred dollars)...all they want to know is that they are risking their lives and 'IT MATTERS".... IT DOES.

Here we are with America's Pride and Joy. One of them (and he asked NOT to be singled out) is a PURPLE HEART Award recipient. He survived. Most Purple Heart Awards are sent to families. I'm sure you understand the implication.

Be Proud. Be Aware. You are protected by the World's Finest Fighting Force. And, they are protecting the Greatest Country In The World.

In this day and age, people find it hard to admit. It's not politically correct. Other countries don't want to hear this kind of sentiment. Tough.

Zell Miller vs. Rudy on Abortion

Says Zell: Military shortages, Social Security crisis, and illegal immigration all linked to abortion
ajc.com

It hasn’t gotten widespread play yet, but former U.S. Sen. Zell Miller made a little news this week in Macon when he declared that abortion has contributed to the military’s manpower shortage, the Social Security crisis, and the flow of illegal immigrants into the United States.

“How could this great land of plenty produce too few people in the last 30 years? Here is the brutal truth that no one dares to mention: We’re too few because too many of our babies have been killed,” Miller said.
“Over 45 million since Roe v. Wade in 1973. If those 45 million children had lived, today they would be defending our country, they would be filling our jobs, they would be paying into Social Security,” the former Georgia governor said. “Still, we watch as 3,700 babies are killed every single day in America. It is unbelievable that a nation under God would allow this.”

Commie Calypso Harry Belafonte Is A Mental Case

Singer Harry Belafonte elaborates on his reference to Condi Rice as a 'house slave' and explains why Bush is more of a tyrant than Castro. This communist Belafonte needs to go, far far away to another country. Get the hell out of America you commie freak. To Harry Belafonte, Castro is a freedom fighter.

Speaking in October 1983 at a "World Peace Concert" run by East Germany's official Communist youth organization, Belafonte gave his blessings to the Soviet-sponsored "peace" campaign pushing unilateral Western disarmament, at a time when the Soviets were putting SS-20 missiles in East Germany.

In June 2000, Belafonte was a featured speaker at a rally in Castro's Cuba, honoring the American Soviet spies, Ethel and Julius Rosenberg.

Caravan For U.S. Troops Shows Colors

Military families and supporters in Move Forward America speak at Griffith Park en route to a rally next weekend in Washington, D.C.
LATimes

Kyle Crowley, an 18-year-old Marine, died in Iraq nearly three years ago. Stricken by stress and grief, his father, Mark Crowley, suffered a near-fatal heart attack about 17 months later, on the fourth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.

The elder Crowley, now 48, a sheet metal worker from the Northern California town of Tracy, wasn't healthy enough to return to work. He's been searching for meaning in his life ever since.

The one thing he's sure of, however, is that he doesn't want his son's life to have been lost in vain. That's why he joined a cross-country caravan of military families and supporters urging the U.S. to support the troops and criticizing politicians and antiwar activists for calling for troop withdrawal from Iraq before the job is done.

"Many have died for these colors," Crowley told supporters at Griffith Park on Friday as he held a U.S. flag. "If you don't support these colors, get the hell out."

The Los Angeles stop was one of two dozen rallies Crowley and others in the Move America Forward caravan will hold as they make their way to Washington, D.C., over the next eight days under the motto "These colors don't run."

About 100 supporters — including many veterans — added several dozen flags of all sizes to the caravan's collection, which the group plans to display in "a giant flag city of red, white and blue patriotism" on the National Mall next weekend.

Move America Forward is protesting the antiwar rallies planned for the fourth anniversary of the U.S. invasion of Iraq. The caravan includes two other California parents — Debra Argel Bastian of Lompoc, whose son died in Iraq, and Debbie Johns of Granite Bay, whose son is serving his third tour there.

Crowley in his view, it's us or them.

"If we don't finish it, they will. If we pull out or can't win, [the terrorists] will make Sept. 11 look like a bar fight. They're radical, and their only meaning is killing innocent people " said Crowley.

A former Army ranger, Crowley said he could shoot an elk at 600 yards with a single shot. He wishes he could trade his own life for his son's — or any of the other 3,000-plus troops who have died.

The Great Global Warming Swindle

A convincing video documentary that the idea of man-made global warming is total bunk. The contributors to the documentary have impressive well-know scientific credentials, (including the co-founder of Greenpeace, and the head of the Meteorology Dept. at MIT) and follow the IDEOLOGY (that's what is is, not science) of Environmental Change from the 1970s to the present. It's a one hour and 15 minute video, but if you are at all interested in the topic, very well worth your time. Builds a convincing scientific case that our current warming trend is Solar related, not due to greenhouse gases.

Probably the most moving part is in the end, when it shows the price to be paid, primarily by survival-economy persons in the developing world, for the world-wide dogma of man-made global warming. This documentary clearly underlines that the world-wide almost religous devotion to the ideology of global warming has serious moral consequences.

An amazing documentary, very well done, which primarily interviews of leading scientists who dispute the current intolerant dogma of man-made global warming. This does to global warming what the movie Obsession does to Islam.

Al Gore and company are Communists out to "fix" imaginary problems and screw us all in the process.

Running time about 75 minutes. But well worth it.

Just in case there is any problem with opening the above video. Just click this link for a larger size at actual website. Thank you

Not This Time

Not This Time (poem about Gathering of Eagles)

written by .......E.M. Cooper, USMC 3/1/07

They gathered in the 60s And Ol' Glory burned and tore With all their hollow slogans such as "Let's make love, not war."

They took for granted freedoms Struggled for in every clime. But as their sequel gathers steam We're saying "Not this time."

Peaceniks still don't grasp the irony As they demand free speech. Atop soapboxes, with bullhorns They curse and mock and preach.

And in our country that's their right 'Twas earned in blood and grime. Secured by men they tried to shame But not now, not this time.

Perhaps someone can tell me why When marching on for "peace" These protesters bring cans of paint And beat upon police?

Their anti-war activities Bought and paid by foreign dime, They used to go unchallenged, But we promise - not this time.

They assaulted soldiers coming home With curse words, spit and worse. All done, it's claimed, in search of peace No matter how perverse.

With Fonda, Kerry, Ramsey Clark, And others past their prime, They hope to relive "glory" days. But hold on, not this time.

Their signs laced with profanity, With swastikas and threats. Parading by with coffins Showing no signs of regret.

Demonstrating outside hospitals With signs like "Maimed for Lies." Well, free speech is a two-way street You've got company this time.

Outside the Capitol, perhaps Is where these types belong. But treading on such sacred ground Is insolent and wrong.

They won't disturb memorials, Or other spots sublime. They've damaged several in the past, But trust me, not this time.

So on March 17th around The Wall we will be lined. Ensuring reverence does prevail, No monuments maligned.

We'll peacefully assemble, And we'll tolerate no crime. Forty years ago they marched alone, Forget it - not this time.

Terrorists Groupies The Democrats Want Iraq Pullout By Fall 2008

Democrats want Iraq pullout by fall 2008

ctv.CA ......for complete article

WASHINGTON

In a direct challenge to President Bush, House Democrats are advancing legislation requiring the withdrawal of U.S. combat troops from Iraq by the fall of next year.

Democratic officials who described the measure said the timetable would be accelerated—to the end of 2007—if the government of Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki does not meet goals for providing Iraq’s security.

The White House had no immediate reaction, although Bush has repeatedly rejected talk of establishing a deadline for troop withdrawals.

Within an hour of Pelosi's news conference, House Republican Leader John Boehner attacked the measure. He said Democrats were proposing legislation that amounted to "establishing and telegraphing to our enemy a timetable" that would result in failure of the U.S. military mission in Iraq.

"Gen. (David) Petraeus should be the one making the decisions on what happens on the ground in Iraq, not Nancy Pelosi or John Murtha," the Ohio Republican added. Murtha, a Pennsylvania Democrat, has been heavily involved in crafting legislation designed to end U.S., participation in the war.

Wild Thing's comment.......

How about a timetable for Democrats to "pull out" of congress they should WITHDRAWL NOW!

We can "redeploy" all Democrats to countries such as Iran, North Korea or Russia so we can keep the enemies of this country all in one place!

The Dems make the job of our guys on the front line much harder and much more dangerous. We aren't leaving Iraq any time soon......regardless of what the DEM leadership and MSM wish for. The GOP and WH have done a completely terrible job over the past 3 years of telling our success and setting the record straight about the MSM / DEM lies and spin on a weekly basis.

I saw Maxine Waters today on CNN today and she was asked if the bill even made it out of the Senate ,and got to the Presidents desk , the President has already said he would veto it. To which she responded ''We don't care if he veto's it. ''The troops are coming home!''..........Is it just me or are some of these RATS like Murtha and Maxine Waters coming off as crazy or semi delusional?

Democrats Want Gitmo Prisoners Sent to U.S.

Democrats Want Gitmo Prisoners Sent to U.S.

The Politico

Key House Democrats plan to insist the Pentagon shut down the detention camp at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and are contemplating the relocation of many of the 385 or so remaining terrorist suspects to military brigs along the East Coast -- including Quantico, Va., and Charleston, S.C.

"It sets us back in the war on terrorism to be maintaining Guantanamo," said Rep. Jim Moran (D-Va.), who's heading an investigation of the facility for the House Defense Appropriations Subcommittee.
"It will enhance our reputation to close it down and to apply our system of justice to all of these detainees," he added.

After two trips to Guantanamo, Moran told The Politico that he's recommending Congress cut funding to the detention center at the end of summer 2008. The men held there should then be released, tried or moved to the United States, he said.

A Democratic official involved in developing the Guantanamo strategy said the Democrats, who control the new Congress, expect Republicans to object to bringing the detainees onto U.S. soil because their attorneys would surely argue they were entitled to myriad new rights.

The official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said Democrats are planning hearings in April or May to "build a record" that closing Guantanamo would be beneficial and that it would be legal, as well as logistically feasible, to bring its detainees to the United States. The hearings would start with panels of lawyers, some of whom are convinced the plan is workable and some of whom represent detainees now at Guantanamo.

And to make the measure more palatable to Republicans, Moran said he would suggest the detainees be transferred to military bases that would allow them to be tried in federal courts under the Richmond-based 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

"Republicans certainly could not consider that a mollycoddling, liberal bastion," Moran said. "The 4th Circuit is as conservative as you get. But the whole world would see that the United States stands for the rule of law. And I think the high-value targets would be shown to be people who undoubtedly should be detained and prosecuted.
"But you've got to distinguish among these people," he said. "We have to prove they actually did something that was designed to hurt American citizens."
A senior administration official, also speaking on the condition of anonymity, said he was puzzled by the Democrats' frequent discussion of closing Guantanamo.
"While we want to bring these guys to trial as quickly as possible, where do Democrats believe we should keep Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the mastermind of the 9/11 plot?" the official asked. "Which American city will they choose to place America's most wanted terrorists?"

The Democratic official said the plan would be to relocate the terrorists to military brigs that have suitable courtrooms. In addition to Quantico and Charleston, many could go to Fort Leavenworth, Kan., or to the Norfolk Naval Station, which has four courtrooms.

Still other possibilities include the Marine Corps Air Station in Beaufort, S.C., and Fort Gordon, Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield, all in Georgia.

In the flush of taking control of the House in January, Democrats had talked about pushing to close Guantanamo immediately, perhaps as part of the emergency wartime funding bill that is now pending. But they had trouble settling on a strategy for that bill and now are considering a shutdown directive in the overall defense appropriations bill for the 2008 fiscal year that begins Oct. 1.

The prison camp at the U.S. Naval Base at Guantanamo Bay has been a constant headache for the Bush administration, which has been accused of holding innocent people there indefinitely. Hunger strikes, suicides and accusations of inappropriate interrogations have plagued the facility, home to what the White House calls some of the world's most dangerous terrorists.

U.S. allies abroad have complained about Guantanamo as well. And the president has said that he would like to close it down but that there is no other place to hold the detainees.

Asked about the furor that could erupt in local communities chosen to receive the detainees, Moran noted that the brigs were secure and that most of the detainees had not "been involved in any combat."

"Many of them have never engaged in any act of violence," Moran said. "Some of them hold beliefs that are anathema to ours, but we have a tradition that we don't punish people for their beliefs but rather for their actions."

Wild Thing's comment.......

How about if the Dems board them in their own homes! These SOB Dems know that once they touch US soil, they can find a court someplace to give them access to US civilian courts and trials. Next on their agenda I bet is to give them voting rights.

Moran is a moron and a punk. Moran is a traitor. He'd sell all of us out in a second for a few bucks for his next campaign.

Many of them have never engaged in any act of violence," Moran said. "Some of them hold beliefs that are anathema to ours, but we have a tradition that we don't punish people for their beliefs but rather for their actions."

What a crock of shit. I wish the Republican PR people would record these traitors for commercials next year. Then parade out profiles of these detainees these elected officials were proposing to dump on American soil. It would make the Willie Horton furloughs look like a Sunday School picnic.

It will enhance our reputation to close it down and to apply our system of justice to all of these detainees," he added.

To the Marxist Dimocrats it is all about appearances. Wanting every one to love us, and favoring those that want to kill us.

They can build an encampment on the Pelosi Vineyards. There's also a mansion in Chappaqua where inmates can be housed. Then there is Kerry's compound on Martha's Vineyard and the Kennedy Compound at Hyannis Port where these folks can be sequestered. I would just feel badly for the innocent and good people that live in the various areas of these people. So maybe that isn't such a great idea, but it would stick them on the soil of the actual enemy within like Kerry, Pelosi and Kennedy etc.

Police Arrest Illegal Immigrant In Abduction Of FL. Boy Who Escaped

Illegal immigrant criminal Vicente Ignacio Beltran-Moreno

Police Arrest Mexican National in Abduction of Florida Boy Who Escaped
Fox News

BRADENTON, Fla. — Authorities arrested the man they believe abducted 13-year-old Clay Moore from a bus stop last month and left him tied up in the woods, officials said Wednesday.

Vicente Ignacio Beltran-Moreno, 22, agreed to voluntarily return from his native Mexico after several days of negotiations, Manatee County Sheriff Charlie Wells said.

Beltran-Moreno was arrested in Texas Wednesday morning at the U.S.-Mexico border and extradition proceedings were under way to get him back to Florida.

"We pretty much told him we weren't going to give up," sheriff's Maj. Connie Shingledecker said. She said they convinced him he would be better off in a U.S. prison, close to his girlfriend and two children, than incarcerated in Mexico.

Clay was grabbed Feb. 25 while waiting at his school bus stop in Parrish. The gunman drove off with him in a red pickup truck, then left him tied up in the woods about 20 miles away. The boy's parents have said he used a safety pin to pick apart the duct tape that held his wrists and then freed himself.

Beltran-Moreno became a suspect after investigators took an artist's sketch to a migrant worker camps east of Bradenton.

Wild Thing's comment......

Note that the phrase "illegal alien" is not used once in the coverage! What cowards! And what the heck..... they say...."Mexican National" in the actual headline of the story with the link........ They make it sound like a diplomat. Good grief! He is an ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT.

I guess Vicente Ignacio Beltran-Moreno will become a GUEST WORKER in a few days, start his own business with the no-payback loan he gets from our govt. and live the american dream quite a few actual citizens never see.

This article suggests that the sheriff made a deal with the illegal alien. The real hero was Clay Moore and NOT the sheriff as the article indicates.

Wired Iraqi Man Triggers Scare At L.A. Airport

I wonder if when he was handcuffed, and asked for a comment he replied "Allah Fubar, kiss my magnetized rear end, you zionist dogs!"

HERE is the VIDEO showing Maliki, the man being discussed.

Wired Iraqi man triggers scare at L.A. airport

LOS ANGELES

An Iraqi national wearing wires and concealing a magnet inside his rectum triggered a security scare at Los Angeles International Airport on Tuesday but officials said he posed no apparent threat.

The man, identified by law enforcement officials as Fadhel al-Maliki, 35, set off an alarm during passenger screening at the airport early on Tuesday morning.

A police bomb squad was called to examine what was deemed a suspicious item found during a body cavity search of the man. Local media reports said a magnet was found in his rectum.

"He was secreting these items in a body cavity and that was a great concern because there were also some electric wires associated with that body cavity," Larry Fetters, security director for the Transportation Security Administration at the airport, told reporters.

Maliki, 35, who lives in Atlantic City, New Jersey, was preparing to board a US Airways flight from Los Angeles to Philadelphia.

The flight left without Maliki but with his luggage aboard. It made an unscheduled landing in Las Vegas, where the plane was thoroughly searched but nothing was found, officials said.

Passengers were not evacuated and no flights were disrupted by the incident at Terminal One at Los Angeles airport.

"There never was a threat," Fetter said.

He said police and the FBI were called in from "an abundance of caution" because Maliki was "so bizarre in his behavior."

Maliki, who had a U.S. green card, was being questioned by immigration officials about his immigration status.

Wild Thing's comment.....

An Iraqi national wearing wires and concealing a magnet inside his rectum...

Wow, talk about a "What did I just read?" moment. Oh my gosh!

First I have to mention this because all of us here have seen a person comment that has used the named Maliki. LOL I wonder if it is the same person. Probably not, maybe that is a common name amoung Iraqi men. But ole Maliki that has commented on here has been a perfect example of hate for the USA, and our troops among other things.

OK, now to the Maliki in the story, was he just testing the system? I wonder why his baggage was left aboard? Only Muslims would walk around with wires and a magnet in their butts. LOL

An Iraqi national wearing wires and concealing a magnet inside his rectum triggered a security scare at Los Angeles International Airport on Tuesday but officials said he posed no apparent threat."

If he posed no threat then why'd they call the FBI? Yes that is absolutely ridiculous. They guy had a potential bomb up his ***, or was testing to see how much of one he could pass thru the detection system. And they caught that 'one' and its not a threat?

Now here is something odd....this story says TWO men not just one......weird. Why can't they get trhe story straight or did they have TWO and not want everyone to know about it. And it is from China about this incident.
China View

A "suspicious item" caused alarm at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on Tuesday, prompting investigation by a bomb squad.

Security authorities said they had sent the bomb squad to Terminal One at LAX to examine the "suspicious item".

The incident began shortly before 6:00 a.m. (local time), said Marshall Lowe of Los Angeles World Airports, the Los Angeles city agency that operates LAX.

"About 5:40 a.m., a suspicious item was found during passenger screening," Lowe said. The item was seized and a Los Angeles Police Department bomb squad was sent to examine it, Lowe said.

Securities officials reported that two men with electrical cords "either wrapped around or coming out of their bodies" were being questioned. The men also were in possession of "magnets," Los Angeles TV Channel 5 reported.

China must have lied, because here is the report from The Aviation Nation that states it was one man.

Thank God nothing happened to injure the passengers, but it is funny nonetheless. I'm telling you, there are some proctologist jokes in this.

Can you say JURY SHOPPING???

Following are the individual charges and their corresponding verdicts:
msnbc

* Obstruction of Justice: GUILTY
* False statements to FBI investigators (about Russert conversation): GUILTY
* False statement to FBI investigators (about Cooper conversation): NOT GUILTY
* Perjury to the Grand Jury (about Tim Russert conversation): GUILTY
* Perjury to the Grand Jury (about the Matt Cooper conversation): GUILTY

Wild Thing's comment......

A kangaroo verdict from a kangaroo' kourt'. Guilty of obstructing justice when there was NO crime! Justice in America is dead. The liberal courts killed it a long, long time ago.

Question to jurors:
What is your political affiliation?

How much you want to bet each member of the jury is an ACTIVIST in the DNC...follow the money. Now they will go after Cheney hard now. Watch.

It never ceases to amaze me how moonbats can accuse the CIA of all kinds of nefarious conspiracies over the years, and yet in this case they believe infallibly in what they consider to be the CIA's assertion in this complaint that Plame was covert.

Its okay for Sandy Burglar to STEAL documents, because William Jefferson Clinton told him to, and he gets a slap on the wrists. The media even ignores the whole story about Berger. Natch that is what they always do with their pals on the left.

ABC News | March 6, 2007 | Paul Fidalgo

Moments after the guilty verdict handed to I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby was made public Tuesday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., called on President Bush to promise not to let Libby off the hook with a presidential pardon.

"I welcome the jury's verdict. It's about time someone in the Bush Administration has been held accountable for the campaign to manipulate intelligence and discredit war critics," said Reid in a press statement. "Lewis Libby has been convicted of perjury, but his trial revealed deeper truths about Vice President Cheney’s role in this sordid affair. Now President Bush must pledge not to...

Etc...liberal BS...

Pelosi: Libby Guilty Verdicts Not Solely About Acts of One Individual Washington, D.C. –Speaker Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today on the guilty verdicts in the CIA leak trial of former White House aide Lewis Libby:

“Today's guilty verdicts are not solely about the acts of one individual.

“This trial provided a troubling picture of the inner workings of the Bush Administration. The testimony unmistakably revealed – at the highest levels of the Bush Administration – a callous disregard in handling sensitive national security information and a disposition to smear critics of the war in Iraq.”

Cough cough spit spit!

WASHINGTON DC – Senator John Kerry (D-Mass.) today offered the following statement on the CIA Leak case, which reached a verdict in Washington today.

“This verdict brings accountability at last for official deception and the politics of smear and fear,” Kerry said. “This trial revealed a no-holds barred White House attack machine aimed at anyone who stood in the way of their march to war with Iraq. It is time for President Bush to live up to his own promises and hold accountable anyone else who participated in this smear. It is also well past time for Vice President Cheney, who according to the testimony was protected by Scooter Libby’s lies, to finally acknowledge his role in this sordid episode.

“I also want to thank the jury and the prosecutor for their hard work in this case.”

And sicko hate filled Chris Mathews he was

" DEMANDING a reply from Cheney, saying "this isn't just like a hunting accident where he can walk away for two days."

Good grief!

LIBERALS SUCK. Republicans better come out and say something good about Libby. I'm so sick of liberals getting away with stealing, lying and putting down our soldiers and country. This case should never have seen the inside of a courtroom. The witnesses were universally pathetic. The judge was overly restrictive in the testimony he allowed on behalf of the defense. This whole case was political from the beginning to end.

It seems to me the libs are having dreams of impeaching President Bush....if that should happen, what are we, as Republicans, going to do? Sit back and try not to hurt anyone's feelings and be very PC or are we going to grow a spine and DEMAND that our Reps. and Senators act like they have some balls? And Pelosi is waiting in the wings. I don't see Bush giving Libby a pardon either, Bush needs Congress rignt now with this war on Islam. But in my heart I think Bush should pardon Libby, Libby didn't do anything.

An innocent man is going to jail and only President Bush can stop it. And where the heck are the leaders in the GOP? Hiding??

This whole thing will probably go on even after Bush is out of office, if they don't push on impeaching him first. I think all along IMO this was a pre-emptive strike to take out Cheney. The left hates him and fears him above all possible candidates and wants to make sure he is out of the way.

Thanks Ann For NOT Being A PC Sell Out

First I want to say that I am more then surprised that this whole thing has been made into something sooooo huge. It just shocks me how some silly joke has turned into what it has. I was not even going to post about it because I got the joke, I laughed hard, and to me it was no biggie.

Also with all the things going on in the world and THIS has to be made into the most important thing. I am just amazed and disgusted that it takes this kind of priority over other things. We have traitors in our government, slandering our troops, doing what they can to destroy the troops morale. The enemy within bent on destroying our country, from dumbing down to the lies about our history, and re-writing history to fit their agenda.

People, ok sub-humans wanting to kill us, and take over our country....but this speech that Ann Coulter made is more important to those making a fuss about it. And beyond that even want to punish her.

Conservatives should be shouting from the roof top - Go, Ann, we are behind you! The GOP, also - if there is any backbone left. That would certainly make a distinction between the two parties.

Liberals can say that it is too bad VP Cheney wasn't killed by a terrorist bomb but Coulter can't say faggot? That's ridiculous. "Progressives", dems, liberals, the terminally PC, and RINOs go balistic over Ann saying the word Faggot. How telling is that!

Whatever happened to the right wing? We used to have a right wing. We used to have people that KNEW the difference in the left and the right and they would admire the courage that people showed when they stood against the left. It seems we on the right are over run with RHINO's and lib wanna be's.

The left calling Bush "Hitler" all the time, we have heard it all, but let Ann say Faggot and all hell breaks loose by the weak kneed, PC addict RHINO's and they want to eat their own. They want to lay into someone that for many years has had the courage to take a stand against PC and the left. How disgusting that is to me.

Burning the flag, protesting ROTC and military recruiters on campus, teaching 5th graders about gay sex, calling infantacide "choice" and yet we are all supposed to be horrified by Annie. She shouldn't take one step back, just keep going forward with her incisive pronouncements. She is beautiful; she is intelligent if not brilliant. God Bless you Ann.

I don't think it's too much to ask that those on "our side", who are jostling with the left to seek the 'moral high ground' by condemning Ann for such "offensive" speech and behavior, should recognize that honesty demands defending Ann's pointing out the hypocrisy of the left even as they express their disapproval of the way she said it. A general condemnation cedes the moral high ground to hate-filled, less than moral, leftists, who do not deserve it. It also allows the left to reinforce their stereotype of Conservatives by condemning Ann, who does not deserve it.

The American Conservative Union, which runs CPAC released a statement condemning Ann. What a bunch of gutless wonders. CPAC is calling Ann's remarks "hate speech"? When Dean said he hated republicans was that "hate speech"? Ann did not call Edwards a faggot. She said she could not comment on him because the use of faggot could send you to rehab.

You all know this blog is a PC Free Zone and for good reason. PC is one of the main things that has been destroying America. The enemy within has used PC as a tool of theirs to promote their agenda on many levels. I have referred to them as the enemy within as the left, the liberals as the enemy within. But of course CPAC is all aglow with their Rudy and Mitt and thier outrage at what Ann said. Nothing like having two liberals in the Republican party bashing a conservative like Ann Coulter right? NOT! I'll pick Ann over 100 Rudy's and Mitt's any day.

The best part is she gave so many PC conservatives the vapors. Well done Annie.
Count me solidly in Ann's corner. Go Ann Coulter!!

Others that see the light and appreciate what Ann is about.

* Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler

* Something...and Half of Something

And for those of you that are NOT PC groupies and hate the left as much as I do, continue on to read what Rush Limbaugh had to say about all of this. For those RHINO's that lurk here you may need to grow up and face the music, because YOU are part of the reason America is in trouble.

Rush Weighs In on the Coulter Kerfuffle

March 5, 2007 ............

RUSH: Well, when everyone else was in Selma, Alabama, the Breck Girl had to be somewhere. You know, everybody has to be somewhere, and John Edwards decided he would go out to the University of California at Berkeley on Sunday, and while there, he “called a janitors' campaign for better wages at the University of California, Berkeley, a continuation of the civil rights struggle that began in the 1960s. Edwards sounded the civil rights theme to commemorate the 42nd anniversary of the ‘Bloody Sunday’ clash between black voting rights marchers and police in Selma, Ala."

Now, how much sense does this make? Everybody's in Selma and the Breck Girl goes out to Berkeley and equates a janitors strike with what went on at Selma, Alabama, 43 years ago. “’This march for economic and social justice for the men and women who work at this university is a part of a bigger march in America for fairness and equality,’ Edwards said during a stop on his current tour of college campuses. Responding late to a question from a reporter, Edwards said a remark about him by conservative author Ann Coulter reminded him of hateful speech against blacks he heard while growing up in the segregated South.” Now, the Ann Coulter remarks. I've been fascinated looking at the response. When I heard that this had happened, the first thing I did is I went to some blogs. They had a blog row at CPAC. Ann made these comments about the Breck Girl on Friday afternoon. Mitt Romney had introduced her. Mitt Romney is a Republican presidential candidate, as we all know.

I'm looking at the blogs, and the bloggers are uniform in their condemnation of Ann Coulter. “This is disturbing and it's distracting to the conservative movement. This is not what we're about. It unnecessarily makes all conservatives a target for continuing attacks by the left,” and so forth and so on. Then some time passed and the bloggers began getting comments from their readers. After a couple of hours, I checked back, and the bloggers were mostly writing about how they were being excoriated by their readers for criticizing Ann Coulter; that finally somebody like Coulter had the guts to stand up and say what things are for, because the left gets away with this and does it all the time. The bloggers admitted that they were taking it on the chin from their readers in the comments of all their blogs from people who were very supportive of Coulter. I went to my own e-mail, and the vast majority of e-mail I got was, "Rah-rah," and, "Right on!" I'll tell you what I think this means.

There is free speech out there and there's no question you can say what you want to say and you should be able to when you want to say it, but you can't because of political correctness. I think that what inspired so many people to be supportive of what Ann Coulter said was -- and I think this is something that Republican candidates need to understand. I'm sure many of you in this audience, not all of you, are fed up with the imbalance. For example, Bill Maher. Bill Maher can go out on his show on Friday night and basically say that it's a shame that Dick Cheney wasn't killed in the assassination attempt at Bagram Air Force Base in Afghanistan, that there would be a lot more people alive today if Dick Cheney were dead. He is asked if he really means it, and he said yeah. Even Barney Frank understood, who was a guest on the program. Even Barney Frank understood what Maher was saying. But take a look at the difference in coverage that the Bill Maher example got (hardly any) to Ann Coulter and her remarks about the Breck Girl. I think she might have been able to say it better. She might have been able to say that she was making a point about free speech and how you can't say certain things without getting sent to rehab and this sort of thing.

I think what people misunderstand about the rank-and-file in the Republican Party is that they're sick and tired of taking it on the chin day in and day out. The mainstream press can assault every one of our icons. The mainstream press, the Drive-By Media and the left, can assault every one of our presidential candidates. They can call George Bush "Hitler." They can write movies on how Bush ought to be assassinated, do movies and produce them; write books on how Bush ought to be assassinated; can say that they wish Cheney had been killed -- and there is no condemnation of it. There are a lot of people in the so-called conservative movement who are fed up with the docileness of Republican leaders in Congress, and even in the White House, who just sit by, don't respond, and just take this stuff.

People are hungry for leadership and they want there to be a response, and they want fighters. I think that's one of the reasons that Giuliani is looking good, frankly. Giuliani has shown a willingness to fight on those principles that he holds dear, such as terrorism and the Drive-By Media and a number of other things. Accordingly, the Drive-Bys are out trying to destroy Rudy today. There's a story about his son Andrew thinking his father is a dud. His son thinks (paraphrased), “Yeah, I never see my dad anymore since he remarried. He never comes to my golf tournaments.” Andrew is a great golfer at college. I think he's at Duke. There's an imbalance, and the rank-and-file of average citizens in the so-called conservative movement in the Republican Party just sits by and watches every one of their leaders get trashed with no response. The leaders don't respond to it, and a lot of conservative media doesn't respond to it.

So when somebody like Ann Coulter comes along and says what she said, they simply react to it. “All right! Somebody's fighting back! Somebody is saying something in return to these people and pointing out their hypocrisy.” I think that's why the support that is there for Ann Coulter is there, because she represents something that the leadership of the party doesn't provide them. The leadership of the movement these days doesn't provide them an outlet for their own anger. You know, individuals are sitting out there roasting and frying and getting angry each and every day at the things that are in the Drive-By Media: the unfairness, the imbalances, the constant defense of the people who are invested in defeat of their own country. They're never called on it. It's never portrayed. The Democrats and the left in this country are never portrayed for who they really are in the Drive-By Media. The White House won't say it and many of the Republican leaders in the House and Senate won't say it. They won't be critical of anybody. The Drive-Bys totally give Bill Maher a pass for wishing that Dick Cheney were dead, and saying that more people would be alive were that the case.

Now, as for the timing of the statement. The thing at CPAC is an association of two conservative groups: The American Conservative Union the Young Americans Foundation. I think they had about 6,000 people that attended. All the presidential candidates showed up and spoke, except Senator McCain who attempted to have a private reception with the attendees but he couldn't pull it off because there weren't any ballrooms left at the hotel where they had the meeting. So he didn't do well. Mitt Romney there was. Even Vice President Cheney was there. Sam Brownback was there. You had Giuliani. I'm leaving some out but they were all there. As such, this was not the same thing as, say, hosting your own radio show or making a speech of your own at a university or some group of people. There are some who are upset that the comment that Ann made took away from what should have been others who are stars of the show -- the presidential candidates and so forth -- and besmirched them. And, true to form, all of the candidates who were there (including McCain, not there) disavowed Coulter's comments, distanced themselves from her -- which is going to infuriate those I described earlier as being angry and spoiling for a fight, even more.

She could have chosen a better place to say it, rather than force these presidential candidates to have to disavow it and distance themselves from it. There's no way that they were going to defend it. I don't care what you want them to do or how you want them to act. If she says something like this when she's making a speech at a college campus, there would be far less fur flying and so forth. Then there's this aspect of it. Some of the criticism is that she besmirches the whole conservative movement by making herself an icon or an identity figure of the whole conservative movement. Other conservatives are saying this is bad. She chose to be selfish at CPAC and make something that was not about her, about her, and that's bad, and so forth and so on. When you boil all of this down, I think what you end up with is a little bit of a conflict, because you have a number of people who clearly loved it and thought it was fabulous and want to hear more like it -- and not so much more like it. They just want to hear somebody fighting back and somebody doing something to point out the absolute ridiculousness of the people on the left, and Ann Coulter did it.

To those who are worried that it taints the entire conservative movement, that is only because the Drive-By Media makes it so. That's only because the Drive-By Media will pretend or portray that comment as typical. As you know, clichés exist about conservatives: racist, sexist, bigot, homophobe. Now, those are all false. Conservatives are not racists. They are not bigots. They are not sexists and they are not homophobes. That is not part of conservatism. So if we're going to suggest that somebody shut up and not say something because it only confirms those clichés, then are we not acting defensively? We're accepting the clichés are believed, and so we've gotta do something not to confirm them. It seems to me to be a rather defensive way to go about this, which is, I think, another thing that a number of conservatives -- just rank-and-file, average people -- are offended by because they think: Why accept the terms defined by the left for us and then live our lives defensively?

We had this guy, Derek. He's a nice guy, a caller from Detroit, a fan of the program, black guy. He said, “I don't think you're a racist.” I'm supposed to be pleased by that. Remember when Jack Kemp and Algore debated in 1996? It was a presidential debate. Jack Kemp was the vice presidential candidate for Bob Dole. During a debate, Algore started talking about the racism and sexism and all these things that exist in the Republican Party, but he exempted Kemp. Kemp said, “Thank you, sir,” rather than become outraged that his whole party had just been tarred and feathered by the vice president of the United States. People here that are fed up with this kind of accepting these terms, accepting these stereotypes, accepting these definitions, and then acting defensively; to go out and say that they're not true or disapprove them. To disapprove them, you can't talk about racism, sexism, bigotry, or homophobia -- and as such, the left wins and shuts people up. Freedom of speech is what it is. Clearly there's a double standard. Does it mean that we need a bunch of people on our side acting like Bill Maher in order to level the field? No, I don't think that's the way that you deal with this.

Here's another thing. For the longest time -- and I'm one of those people that's been saying this, and I'm not sure that I'm still right about it. I could be very wrong. I've been under the impression that all the hate and all of the outrage -- all of the despicable, unseemly comments about the president and the vice president and wishing they were dead and all these other things (you know what I'm talking about, from Michael Moore on down) -- would eventually cause the Democrat Party big problems. It didn't prove to be the case in the November elections. I was dead wrong about it. But I'm beginning to wonder now if it is a drag on the Democrat Party for these people to be acting the way they are. It could well be, too, that the majority of Americans don't know that there's this kind of hate because they don't read blogs; they don't read kook websites, and the Drive-Bys don't report on this stuff as evidenced and witnessed here by the lack of coverage of Bill Maher's comments on the hoped-for assassination or death of Dick Cheney. So it could well be that a significant number of Americans are just not aware of all the rage and hate. But the elected Democrats have not been short in content when speaking of hatred for the president and the investment in defeat. They own defeat of their own country.

So I don't know where this goes and how harmful it really is. But I think it's a mistake for anybody in the conservative movement to assume that one person with one speech or one comment speaks for the conservative movement. That is too defensive. Just because the left tries to tar and feather the circumstance that way, does not make it true. We can't have our own speech codes enforced against people for the purposes of not offending somebody on the left or what have you.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Anyway, folks, don't worry about Ann Coulter. Her opportunities for exposure will only multiply because of this, and she'll have her own (and has had her own) things to say about it and the intent that she made and the roots of it. Her point is that she was simply making a reference to Isaiah Washington having to go to rehab for using the F-word -- the new F-word that's out there -- and that's what a lot of people were offended by: the use of that word, pure and simple. I mean, there are certain words that a lot of people think you shouldn't say in public. N-word, old F-word, the new F-word. When you throw it in there about John Edwards, a presidential candidate; he's out there now raising money off of it. I have had this happen to me over the course of my stellar broadcast career, and don't think Edwards is upset about this. He's loving every minute. He's out there raising what he's calling Coulter bucks.

Hugo You Better Tighten Your Tin Foil Hat

Chavez: "CIA Out to Kill Me"

CARACAS, Venezuela — President Hugo Chavez on Sunday said he believes enemies including the CIA are out to kill him, and called U.S. diplomat John Negroponte a "professional killer."

Chavez said Venezuelan officials have intelligence that associates of jailed Cuban anti-communist militant Luis Posada Carriles also are involved in plotting to assassinate him.

He said the death plot idea has "gained weight" due to various factors, including the recent appointment of Negroponte, the former director of national intelligence, as deputy to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

"Who did they swear in ... there at the White House as deputy secretary of state? A professional killer: John Negroponte," Chavez said.

Chavez did not elaborate, but his government has previously accused Negroponte of playing a key role in the Contra war against the leftist Sandinista government of Nicaragua when he served as ambassador to Honduras — a haven for clandestine Contra bases — from 1981 to 1985.

U.S. Embassy officials could not immediately be reached for comment, but they have denied Chavez's repeated accusations that they are plotting to oust him.

Chavez was asked about reports of assassination plots during a televised interview.

"They have assigned special units of the CIA, true assassins, who go around not only here in Venezuela, in Central America, in South America," Chavez said, without elaborating.

Wild Thing's comment.......

Is Hillary Auditioning for Amos 'n' Andy??

Hillary Adopts Southern Drawl In Church Service

Disgusting pandering. The thing is, that's not a Southern accent. It is insulting! But it also is hilarious how obvious she is in doing this kind of thing.

LISTEN to the AUDIO

"I just want to begin by giving praise to the Lord Almighty," said Mrs Clinton, 59, with a Southern twang not normally detectable in her speeches, as she announced she had come as "a sister in worship and a grateful friend and beneficiary of what happened in Selma 42 years ago".

Telegraph.co.uk

Remember a few years ago when she tried to talk "black" to the NAACP?

"And youse know wha I'ma a talkin 'bout!"

Obama Goes Into the I Have a Dream Mode

I could only stand to listen to a small part of Obama's speech, but all I could think of was Martin Luther King as Obama spoke. Hahahahaha Could Obama not be original? I guess not.

In Selma, where Hillary was also kissing up, not far away was Sen. Barack Obama who told the congregation of an African-American church that they represented the fulfillment of Dr. Martin Luther King's prophetic “I Have a Dream” speech.

“Two score and two years ago,” Sen. Obama said, “our fathers and mothers were beaten on a bridge here in Selma so we that might be free at last to judge a political candidate not just by the content of his character, but also by the color of his skin and even by which restroom he uses.”
"I am the fruits of your labour," he told those gathered to mark the 42nd anniversary. "I am the offspring of the movement. So when people ask me if I've been to Selma before, I tell them - I'm coming home."

America will get what it deserves if they vote for either of these two fakers. I pray they never become President. God help us.

Disney's Piglet banned in Middle East!

Disney's Piglet banned in Middle East!
Qatar Living

In Qatar there is only one decent bookshop (that happens to be a Saudi chain) that has a few shelves of English books. Shopping there is hit or miss - you don't go there to look for a title. You go there in the hope of stumbling upon something interesting.

The kids selection is not bad though. The other night we saw Disney's "My Very First Encyclopedia with Winnie the Pooh and friends". We grabbed it and thought it was exactly what we needed for our daughter - not only does she love Winnie the Pooh but she's also started taking a keen interest in nature.

We flipped it open and noticed that some of the pages had been vandalised with a black marker. We figured it must have been bought and returned after some kids had got there hands on it. Further inspection made us realise that this was actually systematic. Someone had deliberately "censored" out each and every picture of Piglet from hundreds of pages in the book with a black marker (my guess is that the book got caught by Saudi Censors enroute to Doha).

From the first page to the last page. Big and small. The black marker was hogging the limelight, so to speak.

Yes, the cuddly cute pink Piglet had disappeared. First, I have no idea who would buy a book that cost about $30 that was marked up like this. Secondly, what the hell were the censors thinking!?

Now as a Muslim, I can venture why they did this. But as a Muslim, I think it is totally ridiculous.

As in Judaism, there are laws governing what can and cannot be eaten. Muslims are forbidden from eating pork, as pigs are believed to be unclean. Now the point of this post isn't to discuss this. The point is, what is wrong with a picture of Piglet in a kids book? I think absolutely nothing!

Wild Thing's comment......

Poor sweet little Piglet is the great satan! We shouldn't be living with them, we should be bombing the crap out of them all. I remember when the Saudi's refused to allow President Bush 41 to Pray for the Troops before the Gulf War on Saudi soil but made him.....thru their extortion observe the Ceremony from a U.S. Carrier in the Persian Gulf.

The Saudi Royal Family are hypocrites. They party in private...booze,cigars...foods which they will not eat in public,
plus the nocturnal entertainment. They are enabled continualy....after they complain. Others fight and resolve problems for them they make Unbelievably large amounts of money in our lands. And Christianity is marginalized by them.....and thats what they want.

Look at these, many of them I have already posted about before....

From October 2005
England: Toy pigs (trinkets, calenders, Piglet, etc.)must go at council.

Novelty pig calendars and toys have been banned by bosses at Dudley Council in case Muslim staff are offended.
Workers in the council's benefits department have been told to remove or cover up all pig products including toys, porcelain, calendars and even a tissue box featuring Winnie the Pooh and Piglet. It comes after a Muslim worker said they were offended by pig-shaped stress relievers delivered to the authority.

From last June 2006....Piglet banned from Turkey TV

The authorities in Turkey imposed censorship of the cartoon for Winnie the Pooh of the Walt Disney Studios because of the participation of the Piglet

Muslims Refuse to Wash Hands at UK Hospitals
December 2006

Because the anti-bacterial gel contains alcohol: Muslims ‘refuse anti-MRSA gel’. Some Muslims are undermining the battle to rid Britain’s hospitals of killer infections by refusing to wash their hands when visiting sick relatives.
Dispensers containing anti-bacterial gel have been placed outside wards at hospitals all over Britain in a bid to get rid of superbugs like MRSA and PVL. It prevents people bringing in more infections. But some Muslims refuse to use the hand cleansers on religious grounds because they contain alcohol.

February 2007
Minnesota
Muslim cabbies tell airport they won't bend in alcohol dispute

According to airport officials, about 80 percent of their cabdrivers are Somali, who are commonly Muslim. Islam religious law strictly forbids the carrying of alcohol.
Last year, airport officials said alcohol-bearing passengers were being refused service an average of 77 times a month, though that dropped drastically after new travel safety rules prohibited liquids in carry-on luggage.

FBI Looks For Man Who Held Clinton, Boxer Fundraisers

Sorry about the fuzzie photo of this man, it is the only one the FBI had.

FBI looks for man who held Clinton, Boxer fundraisers

Pakistani immigrant is alleged to have supplied illegal contributions

Baltimore Sun

WASHINGTON

A Pakistani immigrant who hosted fundraisers for Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton is being sought by the FBI on allegations that he funneled illegal contributions to Clinton's political action committee and to Sen. Barbara Boxer's 2004 re-election campaign.

Authorities say Northridge, Calif., businessman Abdul Rehman Jinnah, 56, fled the country shortly after being indicted on charges of engineering more than $50,000 in illegal donations to the Democratic committees. A business associate charged as Jinnah's co-conspirator has entered a guilty plea and is scheduled to be sentenced in Los Angeles next week.

...The case has transformed Jinnah from a political point man on Pakistani issues, a man often photographed next to foreign dignitaries and U.S. leaders, into a fugitive with his mug shot on the FBI's most-wanted list.

Jinnah's profile peaked in 2004 and 2005 as he wooed members of Congress to join a caucus advancing Pakistani concerns and brought Clinton to speak to prominent Pakistani-Americans, lauding their homeland's contributions to the war on terrorism and calling relations with Pakistan beneficial to U.S. interests.

...Authorities say that from June 2004 to February 2005, Jinnah directly or indirectly solicited contributions from more than a dozen "conduits," reimbursing them with funds from his company, All American Distributing, a seller of cell phone service and accessories.

The scheme allowed Jinnah to get around limits then in effect on individual donors of $5,000 per year to PACs and $2,000 per election to candidates, as well as the ban on using corporate money for political donations.

...The indictment, handed down last May without a press release, mentions only the initials of the committees that received the illegal donations, referring to them as "HP" and "FB." However, the charging document filed against Jinnah's co-conspirator, Stuart Schoenburg, identifies one of the committees as HILLPAC

Well this is not surprising, once again the name Clinton connected to something done illegally to obtain their goals of power. Hmmmm but which party is the one accused by the Democrats as the party of the "culture of corruption??!!

I can't wait for the AP, the New York Times, and CNN to pick up on this! We have to rely on the Baltimore Sun to report this? Well, of course, our lousy Democrat lying liberal news media only reports Republican scandals.

Pig Tactics Threatened

Torgallmenningen is one of scenic Bergen's many attractions

Norwegian anti-immigration politicians in Bergen have promised to chase off Muslims with pigs feet and squealing noises if Bergen's central square is used for prayers

aftenposten

Norwegian anti-immigration politicians in Bergen have promised to chase off Muslims with pigs feet and squealing noises if Bergen's central square is used for prayers

The leader of the Demokratene, an extreme populist party formed by outcasts of the populist Progress Party, Vidar Kleppe, said Wednesday that he backed the remarks of city council representative Kenneth Rasmussen.

Rasmussen reacted with threats of porcine tactics after Labour Party politician Jerad Abdelmajid said that the city's Muslims could take their Friday prayers in Torgallmenningen, Bergen's central square, when they will be without a mosque from March 31. Building of a new mosque is behind schedule.

Abdelmajid's announcement provoked heated public debate.

"I completely agree with Kenneth Rasmussen that Muslims having their Friday prayers with their butts in the air in the city center is no solution. They can find other places," Kleppe told news agency NTB.

Kenneth Rasmussen told newspaper Dagbladet's web site that Bergen residents should hang up pig's feet and play pig squeals over loudspeakers to scare off Muslims, and claimed these tactics worked when he was a soldier for the United Nations in Somalia and Lebanon in the 1990s.

Kleppe was willing to admit that this was provocative, but that it was correct of his party colleague to propose vigorous solutions.

"It is healthy with lively debates... his main point is surely that Bergen's residents do not appreciate Friday prayers in the city's main square," Kleppe said.
"This will do more damage than good. A threat does not justify another threat, no matter who proposes it," entrepreneur Shahzad Rana told newspaper VG. "Here there have been provocations from both sides. Is it not possible for them to sit down and talk?" Rana asked.

Wild Thing's comment......

"...Muslims having their Friday prayers with their butts in the air in the city center is no solution. They can find other places," Kleppe told news agency NTB. "

LOL ....Good for him! Maybe they should have some pig races next to a mosque. heh heh

Teheran Smuggled In Missile That Shot Down RAF Helicopter In Iraq

Teheran Agents Smuggled In Missile That Shot Down RAF Helicopter In Iraq
Telegrphc.co.uk
By Sean Rayment, Defence Correspondent, Sunday Telegraph

A missile which brought down an RAF Lynx helicopter and killed five British Service personnel was smuggled into Iraq by Iranian agents, an official inquiry into the attack will reveal.

The Sunday Telegraph has learnt that a British Army Board of Inquiry (BOI) into the events surrounding last May's attack will state that the weapon, a shoulder-launched surface-to-air missile known as an SA14 Strella, came from Iran.

The attack, which was also responsible for the death of Flt Lt Sarah Mulvihill, the first British servicewoman to be killed on active service since the Second World War, appears to provide further evidence of Iran's direct involvement in the deaths of British troops serving in Iraq.

It is understood that the inquiry, which has assessed evidence from military engineers and scientists, will conclude that the aircraft was shot down with an Iranian SA14 missile. The inquiry, which is conducted by senior RAF and Army officers, will deliver its finding to defence chiefs next month.

The report will also reveal whether the helicopter's self-defence systems were working properly and whether they provided adequate protection from a missile fired from relatively short range.

Traditionally, the role of a military board of inquiry, which can examine everything from the loss of a piece of equipment to the deaths of servicemen, is not to attribute "blame" for a particular incident. Instead, senior officers make recommendations as to how a similar situation might be prevented.

The Foreign Office is expected to use the findings to step up diplomatic pressure on the Iranian government, which has been asked to crack down on units within its defence and security services believed to be supplying weapons and bomb-making technology to insurgents in Iraq.

Dozens of British soldiers have been killed in Iraq by improvised explosive devices in the form of roadside bombs, thought to have either been manufactured in Iran or by insurgents trained by the Iranians.

Hundreds of thousands of Strellas were produced by the Soviet Union in the 1970s and were used to equip armies throughout the Warsaw Pact, central Asia and the Middle East, including Syria and Iran. The same weapon system is also believed to have been responsible for bringing down several US helicopters in Iraq.

Although the weapon is cheap to produce and easy to assemble, operators need some skill to use it effectively, suggesting that the missile was fired either by an Iranian agent or by someone who had been trained by a skilled soldier.

The attack also claimed the life of the most senior officer to have been killed in the three-year conflict, Wg Cdr John Coxen, 46, who was about to take over command of the British helicopter fleet in southern Iraq.

The other three men killed were the pilot, Lt-Cdr Darren Chapman, 40, his co-pilot, Capt David Dobson, 27, and the door gunner, Marine Paul Collins, 21.

The Lynx Mark 7 was travelling low over central Basra on a sortie to familiarise Wg Cdr Coxen with the dangers that his pilots might face. Although it was believed at first that the helicopter had been brought down by a "lucky hit" from a rocket-propelled grenade, British troops found discarded missile parts in a nearby building after the incident.

Patrick Mercer, the shadow minister for homeland security and a former infantry commanding officer, said:

"This is another indication of a deeply dangerous escalating situation about which the Government has got to come clean. It's no good pretending that these things are not happening. When British servicemen are being killed, the Government has got to be far more robust than this."

Wild Thing's comment......

Wouldn't this be an act of war? I mean they have been doing this for awhile now, weapons, trained killers sent to Iraq, so many things and now this. But let's see that's right, that Baker freak wants us to make nice with Iran, Syria and those wanting to kill our troops. God help us.

Border Control Policy From The Bizarro World

Texas cop faces prison after shooting at illegals' van

SGT NEWS - Texas police officer Gilmer Hernandez sits in a federal prison in Del Rio County, Texas for the crime of shooting at the rear tires of a van after the driver attempted to run the officer over. The catch is the van was filled with illegal immigrants.

Reports from WorldNetDaily indicate the federal government recommends seven years in prison for violating the civil rights of the occupants of the van. A fragment of the bullet hit a woman passenger in the mouth, breaking two of her teach and cutting her lip.

Hernandez’s attorney, Jimmy Parks, has described his client as "terrified'. "If the judge sends him to prison," says Parks, "he will spend every day of the next several years trying to protect himself from the very people he dedicated his life to protect us from."

Parks continued:

"Gilmer worked diligently and assiduously to put criminals away, to take people who were committing dangerous crimes away, to assure that they are placed behind bars to protect us and to rehabilitate them, and now all of a sudden Gilmer is facing a time where he will be locked up in a cage with these criminals and he knows they are ready and prepared to retaliate and seek their vengeance."

The recent case of Ramos and Compean, the border patrol agents sentenced to more than 11 years in prison for shooting an illegal drug smuggler on the United States/Mexican border, sets a frightening precedent of how lazy, inactive and downright neglectful our nation is becoming in the fight to protect our nation’s borders and control illegal immigration.

Ramos was beaten in prison by 5 Hispanic inmates. Ramos said the inmates repeatedly kicked him with steel-toed boots and unloaded a verbal tirade of curses, spoken entirely in Spanish. The prison was forced to place Ramos in the Special Housing Unit of the prison until the investigation of the incident was completed.

In a society where police offers are looked at with increased scrutiny, especially when illegal immigrants are involved, this case further proves the priority of our federal government seems to lie more with the protection of the rights of illegal immigrants, rather than the protection of our national security.

Parks said the outpouring of support on Hernandez’s behalf from the small Texas community has been overwhelming.

Wild Thing's comment..........

Since when did illegal border invaders get civil rights? I thought those were reserved for American citizens. It seems our Constitution really doesn't matter much anymore. Could it be there is an effort underway to make being a border patrol officer such an unattractive profession to go into that there will be a need in the future, due to no border guards, to just throw open the gates and welcome out neighbors on in?

He shot at the vehicle when is was driving away, AFTER the driver attempted to run the police officer down. He has every right to stop a fleeing criminal with force if the criminal will not stop and submit to arrest. The illegal immigrant who was sneaking into our country will sue us for millions for her pain and suffering...That is, after we give her a mouth full of beautiful new veneers.

No wonder they love coming here..

When Hollywood Loved America

With the advent of World War II many of our actors went to fight rather than stand and
rant against this country we all love.

I am listing only a few, but from this group of only 18 men came over 70 medals in honor of their valor,
spanning from Bronze Stars, Silver Stars, Distinguish Service Cross', Purple Hearts and one
Congressional Medal of Honor.

I would like to remind the people of what the entertainers of 1943 were doing, (61 years ago).

Alec Guinness (Star Wars) operated a British Royal Navy landing craft on D-Day.

James Doohan ("Scotty" on Star Trek) landed in Normandy with the U. S. Army on D-Day.

Donald Pleasance (The Great Escape) really was an R. A. F. pilot who was shot down, held prisoner and tortured by the Germans.

David Niven was a Sandhurst graduate and Lt. Colonel of the British Commandos in Normandy

James Stewart Entered the Army Air Force as a private and worked his way to the rank of Colonel. During World War II, Stewart served as a bomber pilot, his service record crediting him with leading more than 20 missions over Germany , and taking part in hundreds of air strikes during his tour of duty. Stewart earned the Air Medal, the Distinguished Flying Cross, France's Croix de Guerre, and 7 Battle Stars during World War II. In peace time, Stewart continued to be an active member of the Air Force as a reservist, reaching the rank of Brigadier General before retiring in the late 1950s.

Clark Gable (Mega-Movie Star when war broke out) Although he was beyond the draft age at the time the U.S. entered WW II, Clark Gable enlisted as a private in the AAF on Aug. 12, 1942 at Los Angeles. He attended the Officers' CandidateSchool at Miami Beach, Fla. and graduated as a second lieutenant on Oct. 28, 1942. He then attended aerial gunnery school and in Feb. 1943 he was assigned to the 351st Bomb Group at Polebrook where he flew operational missions over Europe in B-17s. Capt. Gable returned to the U.S. in Oct. 1943 and was relieved from active duty as a major on Jun. 12, 1944.

Charlton Heston was an Army Air Corps Sergeant in Kodiak.

Ernest Borgnine was a U. S. Navy Gunners Mate 1935-1945

Charles Durning was a U. S. Army Ranger at Normandy earning a Silver Star and awarded the Purple Heart.

Charles Bronson was a tail gunner in the Army Air Corps, more specifically on B-29's in the 20th Air Force out of Guam, Tinian, and Saipan

George C. Scott was a decorated U. S. Marine.

Eddie Albert (Green Acres TV) was awarded a Bronze Star for his heroic action as a U. S. Naval officer aiding Marines at the horrific battle on the island of Tarawa in the Pacific Nov. 1943.

Brian Keith served as a U.S. Marine rear gunner in several actions against the Japanese on Rabal in the Pacific.

Lee Marvin was a U.S. Marine on Saipan during the Marianas campaign when he was wounded earning the Purple Heart.

John Russell: In 1942, he enlisted in the Marine Corps where he received a battlefield commission and was wounded and highly decorated for valor at Guadalcanal

Robert Ryan was a U. S. Marine who served with the O. S. S. in Yugoslavia

Tyrone Power (an established movie star when Pearl Harbor was bombed) joined the U.S. Marines, was a pilot flying supplies into, and wounded Marines out of, Iwo Jima and Okinawa

Audie Murphy, from Texas Most Decorated serviceman of WWII and earned: Medal of Honor, Distinguished Service Cross, 2 Silver Star Medals, Legion of Merit, 2 Bronze Star Medals with "V", 2 Purple Hearts, U.S. Army Outstanding Civilian Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, 2 Distinguished Unit Emblems, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with One Silver Star, Four Bronze Service Stars (representing nine campaigns) and one Bronze Arrowhead (representing assault landing at Sicily and Southern France) World War II Victory Medal Army of Occupation Medal with Germany Clasp, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Marksman Badge with Rifle Bar, Expert Badge with Bayonet Bar, French Fourragere in Colors of the Croix de Guerre, French Legion of Honor, Grade of Chevalier, French Croix de Guerre With Silver Star, French Croix de Guerre with Palm, Medal of Liberated France, Belgian Croix de Guerre 1940 Palm.

And these are only a very few
that have been mentioned.

Can you imagine these stars of
yester-year saying they hate our flag,
making anti-war speeches,
marching in anti-American parades
and saying they hate
our president?

Vietnam Vet to Receive Medal of Honor 41 Years After Battle

Major Bruce P. Crandall "Snake" was assigned as Commanding Officer of "A" Company, 229th Assault Helicopter Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile) in the Republic of Vietnam in 1965-66. Bruce's heroic efforts in the Ia Drang Valley are well documented in the book and film "We Were Soldiers" by Joe Galloway

This from the comments President Bush made.

A few years ago, Bruce learned he was being considered for our nation's highest military distinction. When he found out that Captain Freeman had also been nominated, Bruce insisted that his own name be withdrawn. If only one of them were to receive the Medal of Honor, he wanted it to be his wingman. So when I presented the Medal to Captain Freeman in 2001, Bruce was here in the White House. Captain Freeman wished he were here today, but he got snowed in, in Iowa. His spirit is with us. Today the story comes to its rightful conclusion: Bruce Crandall receives the honor he always deserved.

LTC Bruce Crandall (Ret.) received his wings in the first aviator class at Camp Rucker, Ala., in 1955. He participated in mapping operations from Africa to the Arctic and in Central and South America, where he was director of the first project using military satellites for terrestrial mapping. He has been a fixed and rotary wing test pilot and helped to develop and test the airmobile concept and doctrine he so effectively helped implement in Vietnam.

Crandall served in the Dominican Republic and two tours in Vietnam. His 750 combat operations in Southeast Asia included the famed Battle of the Ia Drang Valley, during which he saved more than 70 wounded soldiers and provided ammo critical to the survival of the U.S. ground unit. In 1966, Crandall flew two more night rescue missions which evacuated 12 wounded from a unit in heavy contact with the enemy. He received the 1966 Aviation and Space Writers Helicopter Heroism Award for this daring rescue.

In addition to his many military awards for gallantry and service, Crandall was the seventh Army inductee in the "Gathering of Eagles," a U.S. Air Force organization honoring contributors to aviation, and he received the Silver DeFleury Medallion for his contributions in engineering and aviation.

To READ more of the battle, see the video and other things related to this CLICK HERE for Crandall's site

As a 32-year-old helicopter pilot, he flew through a gantlet of enemy fire, taking ammunition in and wounded Americans out of one of the fiercest battles of the Vietnam War.

Now, a week after his 74th birthday, Crandall received the nation's highest military honor Monday in a White House ceremony with President Bush.

"I'm still here," he said of his 41-year-wait for the Medal of Honor. "Most of these awards are posthumous, so I can't complain."

Crandall's actions in the November 1965 Battle at Ia Drang Valley were depicted in the Hollywood movie "We Were Soldiers," adapted from the book "We Were Soldiers Once ... And Young."

At the time, Crandall was a major commanding a company of the 229th Assault Helicopter Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile).

"We had the first airmobile division ... the first one to use aircraft as a means of transportation and sustaining combat," Crandall said. His unit was put together earlier that year to go to Vietnam and "wasn't as thought out as things are today."

He didn't have gunners for his aircraft. That's why he flew unarmed helicopters into the battlefield.

He didn't have night vision equipment and other later technology that lessens the danger of flying.

The unit had "minimum resources and almost no administrative people" — thus the lack of help to do the reams of paperwork that had to be sent to Washington for the highest medals, Crandall said.

Generals in-theater could approve nothing higher than the Distinguished Flying Cross, Crandall said in a phone interview from his home near Bremerton, Wash, so he received that award. Through the years, he was able to get that upgraded to a Distinguished Service Cross and now to the Medal of Honor.

Crandall was leading a group of 16 helicopters in support of the 1st Cavalry Division's 1st Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment — the regiment led by George Armstrong Custer when he met his end at the 1876 Battle of the Little Bighorn, or "Custer's Last Stand."

Without Crandall's actions, the embattled men at Ia Drang would have died in much the same way — "cut off, surrounded by numerically superior forces, overrun and butchered to the last man," the infantry commander, Lt. Col. Harold Moore, wrote in recommending Crandall for the medal.

Moore, now a retired three-star general, later wrote the book about the battle along with Joseph L. Galloway, a former war correspondent now with McClatchy Newspapers.

"This unit, taking some of the heaviest casualties of the war, out of water and fast running out of ammunition, was engaged in one of the fiercest battles of the Vietnam war against a relentlessly attacking, highly motivated, vastly superior force," said U.S. Army documents supporting Crandall's medal. The U.S. forces were up against two regiments of North Vietnamese Army infantry, "determined to overrun and annihilate them," the documents said.

The fighting became so intense that the helicopter landing zone for delivering and resupplying troops was closed, and a unit assigned to medical evacuation duties refused to fly. Crandall volunteered for the mission and with wingman and longtime friend Maj. Ed Freeman made flight after flight over three days to deliver water, ammunition and medical supplies. They are credited with saving more than 70 wounded soldiers by flying them out to safety, and Freeman received the Medal of Honor in July 2001.

Paperwork and other parts of the process delayed Crandall's medal until now, officials said.

Thinking back to the Vietnam battle, Crandall remembers the first day was "very long ... we were in the air for 14 and a half hours." He also thinks of how impressive and calm the unit on the ground remained, saying Moore and his commanders were "solid as rocks" throughout the fight.

And of course, Crandall says, he's also proud of his own performance.

"I'm so proud that I didn't screw it up," he said.

Deadly Tornadoes Rip Through Alabama...Many Children Killed

U.S. Military helicopter evacuates a patient from Enterprise High School after a tornado did severe damage to the school.

ENTERPRISE, Ala. (AP) - Tornadoes ripped through Alabama and killed at least 18 people Thursday, including 15 at a high school where students became pinned under debris when a roof collapsed, state officials said. As night fell, crews dug through piles of rubble beneath portable lights at Enterprise High School, looking for other victims.

"The number could very well increase as the search effort continues through the night," state emergency management spokeswoman Yasamie Richardson said.

The storm struck about 1:15 p.m., and Richardson said some students were still trapped three hours later. Erin Garcia, a 17-year-old senior, said students had gathered in hallways around 11 a.m. as a precaution. School officials wanted to send them home around 1 p.m., she said, but the weather turned bad and sirens wailed.

Then, she said, the lights went out.

"I was just sitting there praying the whole time," she said.

After the storm passed, she found the hallway she was in was spared, but a roof and wall collapsed on students in another hallway.

"It was scary. It sounded like a bunch of people trying to beat the wall down. It was complete chaos out in the hallway," she said.

"People didn't know where to go. They were trying to lead us out of the building. I kept seeing people with blood on their faces," Garcia said.

More than 50 people were hospitalized as the violent storm front crossed the state. Two died elsewhere in Enterprise and one in rural Millers Ferry, where a separate storm wrecked mobile homes, Richardson said.

The burst of tornadoes was part of a larger line of thunderstorms and snowstorms that stretched from Minnesota to the Gulf Coast. Authorities blamed a tornado for the death of a 7-year-old girl in Missouri, and twisters also were reported in Kansas.

The high school, about 75 miles south of Montgomery, "appears to have been right in the path," said Paul Duval, a meteorologist with National Weather Service in Tallahassee, Fla., which monitors southeast Alabama.

Martha Rodriguez, a 15-year-old sophomore, said she had left the school about five minutes before the storm hit. When she returned, a hall at the school had collapsed, she said.

"The stadium was destroyed and there were cars tipped over in the parking lot and trees were ripped out. There were trees and wood everywhere. It was just horrible," she said.

At Millers Ferry, 66 miles west of Montgomery, trailer homes were flipped over and trees downed, said Bernadine Williams in the Wilcox County emergency management office.

Several school systems across Alabama closed or dismissed students early as the storm front approached from the west, extending the length of the state.

"The clouds were so dark that all the lights out here came on," said Walter Thornton, who works at the airport in Enterprise, 75 miles south of Montgomery.

President Bush, who visited New Orleans on Thursday, was briefed on the tornadoes by senior staff and called Alabama Gov. Bob Riley and Missouri Gov. Matt Blunt, White House spokeswoman Dana Perrino said aboard Air Force One.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency was working with officials in both states, she said.

In Caulfield, Mo., resident Rick Jarvis heard the storm ripping through his gas station around dawn. His home next door suffered just minor damage, but the twister, described by witnesses as a fat black column, shredded the business, ripping down its roof and back wall.

"It sounded like a herd of horses tearing up stuff. When I came out, it was done," said Jarvis, 48.

The Big Ouch Update

First thank you to all of you for your kindness and patience and prayers about my arm injury. I never even would have mentioned about it here at my blog except when I got the flu last week it was just too much to take to add that in to the situation. augh

Well here is why my arm hurts so much since I tripped and fell. The MRI was a bitch it have done, man oh man it hurt to get those images taken.

I have an impingement in my rotator cuff and bursa. They explained the impingement means the
tendons of the rotator cuff and the subacromial bursa are pinched in the narrow space beneath the acromion.
The impingement causes the tendons and bursa to become inflamed and swollen. ( baseball players and other athletes get this a lot or someone like me from an injury)

He said that because it was a traumatic injury it caused the impingement. It doesn't happen right away when the injury occurs, it develops over time, like mine did since I actually fell last November and eventually the pain just becomes more severe and constant. And it sure as heck has. And now that is also why I have a frozen shoulder and left arm and can't use it for anything, can't reach, can't even pull up a lightweight sheet in bed, can't hold a phone up, or a soda can... nothing.

But they said they can give me a shot of something called a steroid cortisone injection they inject into the bursa. He said it is a very painful shot to get but once it is given after a few days there should be relief. So now I just wait for my appointment to have this done.

There could always be surgery if this does not work but they want to try this first because most of the time they can help with the shot instead of surgery.

I am taking one of my teddy bears with me when I get the shot. hahaha something to squeeze when the pain is there from the shot. Teddy bears don't mind helping out like that.

The injection will be given by the Doctor, I just used the image of a nurse for you guys on here to enjoy. giggle

Thanks again

(((Hug)))

Democrats Revamp Anti-War Plan

Democratic Leaders Revamp Anti-War Plan

Nation & World...for complete article

WASHINGTON

House Democratic leaders are developing an anti-war proposal that wouldn't cut off money for U.S. troops in Iraq but would require President Bush to acknowledge problems with an overburdened military.

The plan could draw bipartisan support but is expected to be a tough sell to members who say they don't think it goes far enough to assuage voters angered by the four-year conflict.

Bush "hasn't to date done anything we've asked him to do, so why we would think he would do anything in the future is beyond me," said Rep. Lynn Woolsey, D-Calif., one of a group of liberal Democrats pushing for an immediate end to the war.

Democratic protests to the war grew louder in January after they took control of Congress and Bush announced he planned to send 21,500 more troops to Iraq. Earlier this month, House Democrats pushed through a nonbinding resolution opposing the buildup.

Since then, Democrats have been trying to decide what to do next. Some worried that a plan by Rep. John Murtha to restrict funding for the war would go too far. Murtha, D-Pa., is extending his support to the revised proposal.

The tactic is more likely to embarrass Bush politically than force his hand on the war. He would have to sign repeated waivers for units and report to Congress those units with equipment shortfalls and other problems.

In the Senate, a group of senior Democrats wants to repeal the 2002 measure authorizing the war and write a new resolution restricting the mission and ordering troop withdrawals to begin by this summer. But Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said Iraq would have to wait until the Senate finishes work to improve homeland security.

"That would mean we would hold off the Iraq legislation for a matter of days, not weeks," he said.

The House Democratic proposal brought a sharp response from Republicans on Wednesday.

Rep. Adam Putnam, R-Fla., called the plan a "fig leaf" to distract the public from what he said was Democrats' ultimate goal of cutting off funds for troops in combat.
"We support full funding for our troops who are in harms way - without strings attached," said Putnam, R-Fla., after emerging from a closed-door conference meeting.

As Democrats met behind closed doors to discuss their options Tuesday, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said the Bush administration would talk to leaders from Iran and Syria on stabilizing Iraq.

Rice announced U.S. support for the Iraq meeting, to be held in Baghdad next month, at a Senate hearing in which Democrats pressed her and Defense Secretary Robert Gates to explain what progress is being made in the Baghdad security crackdown and how soon U.S. troops will be coming home.

The decision to engage Iran and Syria on the war in Iraq is a major departure for U.S. policy. The bipartisan Iraq Study Group in December recommended U.S. dialogue with Iran and Syria, but until now the administration has resisted that course.

Former Secretary of State James A. Baker III, Republican co-chairman of the panel, welcomed the shift in a speech Tuesday night. But he went further, urging the administration to include Syria in Mideast peacemaking with Israel and the Palestinians.

Baker and his Iraq Study Group co-chair Lee Hamilton, a Democrat, are expected this spring to participate in a new study on constitutional war powers. Baker will co-chair the independent panel along with Warren Christopher, who was President Clinton's secretary of State.

Wild Thing's comment........

What a disgrace these Democrats are, to America and to our troops. They won't just let our military run this war. After such a long time of attacking our military, it's leadership, slandering and the lies about how the war is going, it has to take it's toll on our troops.

And I am sick to my stomach about the fact Bush etc. are going to be considering the decision to engage Iran and Syria on the war in Iraq. WTF?
