Disgusting From a President: Obama On Second Amendment Rights: “Something Fundamental Has To Change”

Obama On Second Amendment Rights: “Something Fundamental Has To Change”…

CNN

Barack Obama appeared on NBC’s “Meet The Press” on Sunday, talking about the “fiscal cliff” negotiations and priorities for his administration in his second term.

“Something fundamental in America has to change,” said Obama, who visited on December 16 with families of victims of the Newtown, Connecticut, school shootings.

The president said Sunday he will put forth a proposal next year to change firearm laws. Among the things the legislation will address are assault-style rifles, high-capacity ammunition magazines and background checks on all firearm sales.

Wild Thing's comment...............

That any president would say this or think it is so beyond disgusting and should alarm every American.

Herbal supplement may prevent dangerous blood clots

Herbal supplement may prevent dangerous blood clots

FOX News

An apple a day may actually keep the doctor away – or even better, keep you from getting a life-threatening blood clot. So might an orange or onion, it turns out. All of these fruits and veggies are high in a flavanoid known as rutin, a natural anti-clotting agent, according to a study published Tuesday.

Each year, approximately one third of all deaths in the United States are caused by a heart attack or stroke.

“It’s not always fully appreciated that the majority of Americans will die as the result of a blood clot in either their heart or their brain,” said the study’s senior author Dr. Robert Flaumenhaft, associate professor at Harvard Medical School and a researcher at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.

Even with the use of existing anti-clotting therapies, such as aspirin, Plavix and warfarin (Coumadin), an estimated 1,255,000 heart attacks and 795,000 strokes occur each year.

Flaumenhaft and his research team at Beth Israel were looking for a compound that could block the action of a clotting agent, a protein called disulfide isomerase (PDI), which they found is rapidly secreted during thrombosis—when a clot forms in a blood vessel.

But because PDI is necessary for the production of certain proteins, they had to hunt for a compound that could block only certain PDI proteins. When the researchers tested more than 5,000 compounds, rutin emerged as the most potent.

Rutin is found in many fruits and vegetables, including apples (especially the peels), berries, citrus fruits and onions, as well as teas and buckwheat. It is also sold as an herbal supplement. Fortunately, studies have shown that flavanoids are well tolerated and safe.

The researchers then tested rutin to see if it would prevent blood clots in a mouse model.

“Rutin proved to be the most potently anti-thrombotic compound that we ever tested in this model,” said Flaumenhaft. In addition, epidemiologic studies have found that a diet high in flavonoids is associated with a lower risk of heart attack and stroke.

Though clinical trials in people still need to be done, the research is promising and clearly demonstrated that targeting PDI is an effective anti-clotting therapy. Because the Food and Drug Administration has already established that rutin is safe, the flavanoid can be tested in a clinical trial relatively quickly.

Sen. Harry Reid: Senate to Reconvene New Year’s Eve to Continue Fiscal Cliff Negotiations

FOX News

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said the Senate will reconvene Monday at 11 a.m. ET to continue negotiations to avert the fiscal cliff.

Reid said he was gratified Republicans have taken their demand for Social Security cuts off the table, but added that they should’ve never been on the table to begin with.

He said, “There’s still significant distance between the two sides, but negotiations continue. There’s still time left to reach an agreement and we intend to continue negotiations.”

If Obama did his job and the rest of them had done it too, they would be enjoying the holiday instead of having to meet once again about this. Obama sets the worst example of leadership and it goes from there especially among the democrats.

Ever Notice How Michelle and Barack Have the Same Campaign Trail Stutter?...Check it out....

Michelle Obama stutters. She does not have a stutter. She stutters on purpose. “I-I-I, I’ve seen it in our men and women in uniform.” “Fr-from the young person with so much promise.” “And-and, even as a kid…”

It is a studied stutter, deployed in order to build sincerity. It is not so much a rhetorical device as an acting device. The same could be said for the presentation of almost all political convention speeches. And it is, at its core, sad.

And if you’ve listened to Barack at all over the years, you’d know he has the same thing. Don’t believe us? Here is a side-by-side example:

.

But the similarities don’t end there. Viewers also may have noticed that Michelle uses very familiar hand gestures to Barack:

And in what was perhaps the strongest resemblance, that Michelle Obama used the words “I” and “me” a staggering number of times. She used the two words 83 times in her 25-minute speech, or roughly 3 times a minute.

Her husband is famous for a similarly self-centered rhetorical style. In a 25-minute speech in July, for instance, Obama referred to himself 117 times, according to CNS News. Mathematically, this means the president used the words “I” or “me” roughly 13.09 seconds.

Here is a montage of the two:

450 Teachers Apply for 24 Spots in a Free Ohio Firearms Training

450 Teachers Apply for 24 Spots in a Free Ohio Firearms Training

More than 450 teachers and other school employees from around Ohio have applied for 24 spots in a free firearms-training program being offered by the Buckeye Firearms Association.

“We’re pleasantly surprised, but it’s not shocking,” Ken Hanson, legal chairman for the association, said today of the response since the group began taking applications on its website 10 days ago. “The demand has been there for quite some time.”

The issue of arming school employees to protect students has been “on the radar” of school boards in Ohio for several years, he said, but the organization decided to launch its training program after the Dec. 14 shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., where a gunman killed 20 children and six adults.

“That was the breaking point,” he said. “We decided it’s time to quit talking about it and move forward.”

The first firearms class, a three-day program at the Tactical Defense Institute in West Union in Adams County, hasn’t been scheduled nor have the participants been chosen. Applications are being accepted at buckeyefirearms.org, the website of the group, which lobbies for the rights of gun owners.

The same week that the Buckeye Firearms Association announced its offer, Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine said schools should consider arming “someone” in their buildings as the first line of defense against a gunman. Beginning Jan. 14, his office will work with law enforcement and educators to train teachers and administrators to deal with “active shooters.”

The local police union expressed concerns this week about arming teachers or others who work in schools.

“It’s our position that there should be law-enforcement officers in schools,” said Jason Pappas, president of the Fraternal Order of Police Capital City Lodge No. 9. “To have civilians with guns in schools who could be mistaken for an active shooter only causes confusion for law enforcement.”

Columbus school-board member Mike Wiles also prefers trained police officers in schools. He’s willing to listen to all options for keeping students safe, but he said the notion of arming staff members would require support from “the board, the community, the staff, the parents, everybody.”

Hanson said his group likes the idea of police officers in schools but worries that those school officers are among the first lost to budget cuts when school districts encounter financial problems.

Arming teachers and other school employees is “budget neutral,” he said.

Although the Buckeye Firearms Association will fund the first class in its Armed Teacher Training Program, Hanson estimated the cost for tuition, ammunition and lodging for each participant at $1,000.

More than 70 percent of the school employees who have applied are teachers, about half of whom work in elementary schools, he said. Others are administrators and even custodians and food-service workers.

Beginners won’t be accepted. The program is looking for applicants with “significant prior firearms experience,” Hanson said.

John Benner, a former member of the Hamilton County regional SWAT team who owns the Tactical Defense Institute, said the class will be an intensive three-day program in dealing with active shooters.

By the end of the course, only participants who can pass the same firearms tests administered to law-enforcement officers should be armed in a school, Benner said.

“If they can’t qualify, they shouldn’t be carrying a gun,” he said. “There has to be some standard.”

Whether any of those who complete the course can carry guns in schools will be up to individual school boards and perhaps the state legislature.

The Ohio Revised Code allows school boards to give individuals written authorization to carry a gun on school grounds, Hanson said. The law, an exception to the ban on guns in schools, is found in ORC 2923.122.

But the legal counsel for the Ohio School Boards Association sees another legal hurdle to arming teachers or other school employees.

Hollie Reedy referred to ORC 109.78, which says that no public or private educational institution is permitted to employ a person “who goes armed while on duty” unless the person has completed a basic peace-officer training program or has

20 years of active duty as a peace officer.

“(Section) 2923.122 is not the end of the story,” Reedy said. “We have to look at other parts of the code.”

Jonathan Fulkerson, deputy chief counsel for the state attorney general, disagreed with her interpretation of ORC 109.78, which he said addresses the hiring of special police officers or security guards.

“I don’t see how 109.78 would apply to a teacher,” he said. “It covers a whole other area.”

Taxpayers To Start Feeling ObamaCare’s Effects...You Can Thank Obama and His Voters

Taxpayers To Start Feeling ObamaCare’s Effects

THE WASHINGTON TIMES

The re-election of President Obama means Uncle Sam is only going to grow larger. As the new year arrives, Americans are likely to see with their own eyes the consequence of their choice of chief executive as health care costs escalate thanks to Obamacare.

Provisions of the law that take effect in the new year will reveal the true price tag of the president’s signature health care system in the form of five new taxes.

Starting Jan. 1, a 2.3 percent medical device tax will be imposed on the miracles of modern medicine such as heart pacemakers, stents, prosthetic joints and diagnostic scanners. The levy will apply to sales, not profits, so startup firms that might be just breaking even could be pushed into the red by Obamacare. With 80 percent of medical device companies employing fewer than 50 people, the tax is a disincentive for small firms to stay in business — exactly the opposite of the effect needed to jump-start the nation’s flagging economy.

Obamacare will raise the threshold for the tax deductibility of medical bills from 7.5 percent of adjusted gross income to 10 percent, making it harder to write off the cost of health care. Pre-tax flexible spending accounts, which 24 million consumers rely on to pay for medical bills and currently have no federally imposed limit, will be capped at $2,500. These two provisions mean a greater share of families’ income must be devoted to health care, contrary to the promises Democrats made when selling the plan to the public in 2010.

Several other scheduled tax increases are contingent upon negotiations between the president and Congress over the looming “fiscal cliff.” Obamacare is set to raise the capital gains tax rate from 15 percent to 20 percent and dividend rate from 15 percent to 39.6 percent. Families and small-business owners earning more than $250,000 will pay an additional 0.9 percent Medicare payroll tax.

The health care overhaul calls for a $63 per person fee to cover the cost of coverage for individuals with pre-existing medical conditions. Insurance companies forced to foot the bill are expected to pass the cost along to an estimated 190 million Americans in the form of higher insurance premiums. Obamacare even exacts a price on freedom of religion. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor on Wednesday turned down craft retailer Hobby Lobby’s request for a stay on the health care law’s requirement that companies pay for abortion pills, regardless of whether that violates the owner’s moral code.

As much as Mr. Obama wishes to prove the liberal proposition that big government knows best, the coming tax increases are likely once again to prove otherwise. Obamacare will extract tax dollars from taxpayers nationwide and funnel them into federal coffers in Washington. From there, legions of faceless bureaucrats in cushy offices will decide who gets health care and how much. The new year will bring Americans a very clear lesson in the shortcomings of a big-government program they opted for with the re-election of Mr. Obama. As their wallets get lighter, it’s a lesson they likely will regret.

Wild Thing's comment...................

Bye bye freedom, bye bye good medical care and hello hell.

Desert Storm commander Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf dies

U.S. General Norman Schwarzkopf, who led the United States to a decisive victory in the first Gulf War, has died in Tampa, Florida.

Desert Storm commander Norman Schwarzkopf dies

Source

Truth is, retired Gen. H. Norman Schwarzkopf didn't care much for his popular "Stormin' Norman" nickname.

The seemingly no-nonsense Desert Storm commander's reputed temper with aides and subordinates supposedly earned him that rough-and-ready moniker. But others around the general, who died Thursday in Tampa, Fla., at age 78 from complications from pneumonia, knew him as a friendly, talkative and even jovial figure who preferred the somewhat milder sobriquet given by his troops: "The Bear."

That one perhaps suited him better later in his life, when he supported various national causes and children's charities while eschewing the spotlight and resisting efforts to draft him to run for political office.

He lived out a quiet retirement in Tampa, where he'd served his last military assignment and where an elementary school bearing his name is testament to his standing in the community.

Schwarzkopf capped an illustrious military career by commanding the U.S.-led international coalition that drove Saddam Hussein's forces out of Kuwait in 1991 — but he'd managed to keep a low profile in the public debate over the second Gulf War against Iraq, saying at one point that he doubted victory would be as easy as the White House and the Pentagon predicted.

Schwarzkopf was named commander in chief of U.S. Central Command at Tampa's MacDill Air Force Base in 1988, overseeing the headquarters for U.S. military and security concerns in nearly two dozen countries stretching across the Middle East to Afghanistan and the rest of central Asia, plus Pakistan.

When Saddam invaded Kuwait two years later to punish it for allegedly stealing Iraqi oil reserves, Schwarzkopf commanded Operation Desert Storm, the coalition of some 30 countries organized by President George H.W. Bush that succeeded in driving the Iraqis out.

At the peak of his postwar national celebrity, Schwarzkopf — a self-proclaimed political independent — rejected suggestions that he run for office, and remained far more private than other generals, although he did serve briefly as a military commentator for NBC.

While focused primarily on charitable enterprises in his later years, he campaigned for President George W. Bush in 2000, but was ambivalent about the 2003 invasion of Iraq. In early 2003 he told The Washington Post that the outcome was an unknown: "What is postwar Iraq going to look like, with the Kurds and the Sunnis and the Shiites? That's a huge question, to my mind. It really should be part of the overall campaign plan."

Initially Schwarzkopf had endorsed the invasion, saying he was convinced that Secretary of State Colin Powell had given the United Nations powerful evidence of Iraqi weapons of mass destruction. After that proved false, he said decisions to go to war should depend on what U.N. weapons inspectors found.

He seldom spoke up during the conflict, but in late 2004 he sharply criticized Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld and the Pentagon for mistakes that included erroneous judgments about Iraq and inadequate training for Army reservists sent there.

"In the final analysis I think we are behind schedule. ... I don't think we counted on it turning into jihad (holy war)," he said in an NBC interview.

Schwarzkopf was born Aug. 24, 1934, in Trenton, N.J., where his father, Col. H. Norman Schwarzkopf Jr., founder and commander of the New Jersey State Police, was then leading the investigation of the Lindbergh kidnap case. That investigation ended with the arrest and 1936 execution of German-born carpenter Richard Hauptmann for murdering famed aviator Charles Lindbergh's infant son.

The elder Schwarzkopf was named Herbert, but when the son was asked what his "H" stood for, he would reply, "H."

As a teenager Norman accompanied his father to Iran, where the elder Schwarzkopf trained the Iran's national police force and was an adviser to Reza Pahlavi, the young Shah of Iran.

Young Norman studied there and in Switzerland, Germany and Italy, then followed in his father's footsteps to West Point, graduating in 1956 with an engineering degree. After stints in the U.S. and abroad, he earned a master's degree in engineering at the University of Southern California and later taught missile engineering at West Point.

In 1966 he volunteered for Vietnam and served two tours, first as a U.S. adviser to South Vietnamese paratroops and later as a battalion commander in the U.S. Army's Americal Division. He earned three Silver Stars for valor — including one for saving troops from a minefield — plus a Bronze Star, a Purple Heart and three Distinguished Service Medals.

While many career officers left military service embittered by Vietnam, Schwarzkopf was among those who opted to stay and help rebuild the tattered Army into a potent, modernized all-volunteer force.

After Saddam invaded Kuwait in August 1990, Schwarzkopf played a key diplomatic role by helping persuade Saudi Arabia's King Fahd to allow U.S. and other foreign troops to deploy on Saudi territory as a staging area for the war to come.

On Jan. 17, 1991, a five-month buildup called Desert Shield became Operation Desert Storm as allied aircraft attacked Iraqi bases and Baghdad government facilities. The six-week aerial campaign climaxed with a massive ground offensive on Feb. 24-28, routing the Iraqis from Kuwait in 100 hours before U.S. officials called a halt.

Schwarzkopf said afterward he agreed with Bush's decision to stop the war rather than drive to Baghdad to capture Saddam, as his mission had been only to oust the Iraqis from Kuwait.

But in a desert tent meeting with vanquished Iraqi generals, he allowed a key concession on Iraq's use of helicopters, which later backfired by enabling Saddam to crack down more easily on rebellious Shiites and Kurds.

While he later avoided the public second-guessing by academics and think tank experts over the ambiguous outcome of the first Gulf War and its impact on the second Gulf War, he told The Washington Post in 2003, "You can't help but ... with 20/20 hindsight, go back and say, `Look, had we done something different, we probably wouldn't be facing what we are facing today.'"

After retiring from the Army in 1992, Schwarzkopf wrote a best-selling autobiography, "It Doesn't Take A Hero." Of his Gulf War role, he said: "I like to say I'm not a hero. I was lucky enough to lead a very successful war." He was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II and honored with decorations from France, Britain, Belgium, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Bahrain.

Schwarzkopf was a national spokesman for prostate cancer awareness and for Recovery of the Grizzly Bear, served on the Nature Conservancy board of governors and was active in various charities for chronically ill children.

"I may have made my reputation as a general in the Army and I'm very proud of that," he once told The Associated Press. "But I've always felt that I was more than one-dimensional. I'd like to think I'm a caring human being. ... It's nice to feel that you have a purpose."

Schwarzkopf and his wife, Brenda, had three children: Cynthia, Jessica and Christian.

.

Above is video of Gen. Schwarzkopf giving a briefing during the First Gulf War that drove Saddam Hussein and Iraqi Forces out of Kuwait.

HERO!

Source

In Vietnam in March 1970, Schwarzkopf was involved in rescuing men of his battalion from a minefield. He had received word that men under his command had encountered a minefield on the notorious Batangan Peninsula, he rushed to the scene in his helicopter, as was his custom while a battalion commander, in order to make his helicopter available. He found several soldiers still trapped in the minefield. Schwarzkopf urged them to retrace their steps slowly. Still, one man tripped a mine and was severely wounded but remained conscious. As the wounded man flailed in agony, the soldiers around him feared that he would set off another mine. Schwarzkopf, also wounded by the explosion, crawled across the minefield to the wounded man and held him down (using a “pinning” technique from his wrestling days at West Point) so another could splint his shattered leg. One soldier stepped away to break a branch from a nearby tree to make the splint. In doing so, he too hit a mine, which killed him and the two men closest to him, and blew an arm and a leg off Schwarzkopf’s artillery liaison officer. Eventually, Schwarzkopf led his surviving men to safety, by ordering the division engineers to mark the locations of the mines with shaving cream. (Some of the mines were of French manufacture and dated back to the Indochina conflict of the 1950s; others were brought by Japanese forces in World War II). Schwarzkopf says in his autobiograpy It Doesn’t Take a Hero that this incident firmly cemented his reputation as an officer who would risk his life for the soldiers under his command.

Schwarzkopf told his men that they might not like some of his strict rules, but it was for their own good. He told them “When you get on that plane to go home, if the last thing you think about me is ‘I hate that son of a bitch’, then that is fine because you’re going home alive.” Lt. General Hal Moore later wrote that it was during his time in Vietnam that Schwarzkopf acquired what later became his infamous temper, while arguing via radio for passing American Hueys to land and pick up his wounded men.

Aetna CEO: Obamacare Could Double Insurance Premiums

Aetna CEO: Obamacare Could Double Insurance Premiums

CNBC.....video at this link.

To provide all Americans with health insurance, premiums will have to rise to pay for it, Aetna CEO Mark Bertolini told CNBC’s ”Closing Bell” on Wednesday.

“If we’re going to insure all Americans, which is a worthy and appropriate cause, then somebody has to pay for it,” Bertolini said of the expected premium increases under Obamacare.

Bertolini said that insurance premiums could double in some places just on the basis of what types of policies people buy today.

He also said that when Obamacare is fully implemented, it won’t start the way people had hoped and it won’t be cheaper.

Over the longer run, the key to bringing down premiums will be controlling health care costs, he added. “It’ll be fits and starts, but we’ll get there,” Bertolini said.

Higher premiums also will not necessarily mean higher margins for Aetna. “The people coming into the system will be sicker because they have not used services,” Bertolini said. “So in the initial part of this program it will cost more to take care of people because they have been going without health care for so long.”

The Aetna executive also weighed in on the debate over the country’s fiscal situation.

Everything is going to cost more and there will be much less coverage. They need to start calling it what it is.....socialized medicine. People used to come to the USA for better care, now the entire world including all of us will have no place to go.

Sotomayor Ruled in Favor of Muslim Inmate’s Ramadan Dinner But Rejected Christian Hobby Lobby’s Appeal for HHS Exemption

Justice Sotomayer ruled in favor of Muslim inmates but ruled against Christian business owners.

The Supreme Court denied a request by Hobby Lobby, a Christian-owned company, to shield the company from the controversial contraceptive mandate. Justice Sonia Sotomayor rejected a request for an emergency injunction that would have shielded employers from the mandate. Hobby Lobby could face fines of up to $1.3 million a day if they do not comply to the Obama mandate.

Yet, as Laura Ingraham pointed out, in a previous case Sotomayor ruled for a Muslim inmate who was denied Ramadan meals. In Ford v. McGinnis, 352 F.3d 582 (2d Cir. 2003), Sotomayor wrote an opinion that reversed a district court decision holding that a Muslim inmate’s First Amendment rights had not been violated because the holiday feast that he was denied was not a mandatory one in Islam. Sotomayor held that the inmate’s First Amendment’s rights were violated because the feast was subjectively important to the inmate’s practice of Islam.

So Are They Going To Pay the Obama Idiots to show up?? Obama’s 2nd Inauguration To Draw Less Than Half the 2009 Crowd

Jan 20, 2009

The litter on the National Mall after the Barack Obama inauguration was incredible. Barack Obama spoke to the need for more personal responsibility. Let's start by everyone cleaning up their own trash!

Obama’s 2nd Inauguration To Draw Less Than Half the 2009 Crowd

It is one of those occasions that is quintessential Washington: the inauguration of a president, a multi-day festival of patriotism, politics, optimism and self-congratulation.

All of that will be on display on January 21, when President Barack Obama is publicly sworn in for his second four-year term. But this inauguration will be far less grand than Obama’s first in 2009, when a record 1.8 million visitors flooded the city to see the nation’s first black president take office.

This time the celebration is likely to attract no more than 800,000 or so guests, city officials estimate. As a result, some luxury hotel rooms and coveted tables at high-end restaurants are still available, less than a month before the inauguration.

The swanky Mandarin Oriental Hotel, with its sweeping views of the National Mall, initially required inauguration guests to make reservations for four nights. Now it has relaxed that requirement to three nights to try to fill its rooms.

But the “inauguration markup” still applies: The Mandarin’s least expensive room, normally available for $295 a night, starts at $1,195 a night during the long inauguration weekend.

Even so, the demand for hotel and restaurant reservations for this inauguration pales compared with the rush that followed Obama’s first election.

Wild Thing's comment...................

Obama voters are disgusting in every way, and slobs, filthy idiots. They are people that do NOT love America.

Hanoi John Kerry Push Global Warming As Secretary Of State

Secretary of State nominee John Kerry, with 20 years of concern about climate change, is expected to push the issue to center stage as a slow-motion crisis in need of a global solution.

When he sought to defeat President George W. Bush in 2004, the Democratic senator from Massachusetts made a point of challenging the Bush administration’s backtracking on the issue and rejection of climate science. In contrast, he told the nation, he “believes in science.”

Kerry has been pushing for action on global warming since he attended the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro in 1992. He has since attended multiple United Nations climate-change negotiations, including helping Obama with some preliminary discussions with India and China at the U.N. talks in Copenhagen in 2009.

He co-authored unsuccessful legislation in the Senate to set up a cap-and-trade system to reduce U.S. emissions of greenhouse gases. He and his wife, Teresa Heinz Kerry, co-wrote a book, “This Moment on Earth: Today’s New Environmentalists and Their Vision for the Future.”

A clue to his current thinking came in August when he spoke on the Senate floor, saying that planetary warming was “as dangerous as any sort of the real crises that we talk about.”

America is so screwed. I wonder if any of the Republican voters that did not vote for Romney for President this last election are even a little sorry for their fake love for our country.

CNN’s Piers Morgan Calls The Bible and the U.S. Constitution “Inherently Flawed”

CNN’s Piers Morgan Calls The Bible and the U.S. Constitution “Inherently Flawed”; Says “It’s Time for an Amendment to the Bible”; Pastor Rick Warren Answers, “No”

The Bible has a description of people like Piers Morgan: “Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought. . . “ Romans 12:3.

Here is video of Piers Morgan tonight talking to Pastor Rick Warren where he decreed that both the Bible and the U.S. Constitution are “inherently flawed” – and said the Bible needs to be amended. To which, Rick Warren gave the right answer – “No,” and “Not a chance.”

Long after the opinions of Piers Morgan have faded into the sunset, God will still be using the Bible to change the lives of people.

Wild Thing's comment................

I am not a fan of Rick Warren but I am less of a fan of Piers Morgan. There is a petition to deport Piers Morgan which I think is a great idea. It is funny too because England says they do not want him back........ petition to deport Piers Morgan doubles, tops 75,000...

Popular British TV Host: “It Took Us 40 Years to Get Rid of Piers Morgan, Please Don’t Send Him Back”
Jeremy Clarkson, a popular British broadcaster, journalist and writer best known for his role on the BBC TV show Top Gear, pleaded with Americans not to send anti-gun crank Piers Morgan back to the motherland.

Obama’s Spending Cut Talks to Avert Fiscal Cliff Are “Phony”

(VIDEO at link....click here)

Grover Norquist, the Americans For Tax Reform president, slammed President Obama’s approach to the fiscal cliff. Today on Your World, Norquist told sit-in host Eric Bolling, “It’s all politics. I mean, he’s not put a proposal on the table that makes any sense.”

Behind closed doors, Norquist says the president has been “lying” about his negotiating position when it comes to spending. In a meeting last week, it’s reported that Speaker John Boehner asked President Obama, “I put $800 billion [in tax revenue] on the table. What do I get for that?” The president then replied, “You get nothing. I get that for free.”

Norquist charged, “Not only are the phony spending cuts phony, they get smaller each time we run into one of these deals.”

After His DUI Arrest, Sam Donaldson Tells Tea Partiers “It’s Not Your Country Anymore – It’s Our Country"

SAM DONALDSON: The minorities re-elected president Obama, but I’m going with Katty. It’s the Tea Party and thinking of the Tea Party and people like that that are driving the Republicans out of contention as a national party. You cannot win nationally if you don’t know something about the way the country’s changed, and the Tea Party seems to think the country can go back 25 or 30 years. The greatest slogan that I hated during this last campaign was “We want to take back our country.” Guys, it’s not your country anymore – it’s our country and you’re part of it, but that thinking is going to defeat Republicans nationally if they don’t get rid of it.

December 20, 2012.......... Sam Donaldson charged with DUI in Delaware

FOX News

ABC News veteran and former correspondent Sam Donaldson is facing a drunken driving charge in Delaware.

Police in the southern coastal town of Lewes say the 78-year-old Donaldson was stopped Dec. 1 for a traffic violation. Police say the officer determined Donaldson had been drinking and gave him field sobriety tests.

Donaldson was arrested and later released. An arraignment is set for Friday.

A phone call to Donaldson's home in McLean, Va., on Wednesday was not immediately returned. McLean is about 110 miles west of Lewes.

Donaldson was twice chief White House correspondent for ABC News, covering Presidents Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton. He also co-hosted "PrimeTime Live" with Diane Sawyer and the ABC News Sunday morning broadcast "This Week with Sam Donaldson and Cokie Roberts."

Planned Parenthood Uses Christmas Eve To Beg For Donations

Life News

While the rest of the nation eagerly awaits the celebration of the birth of the Savior, Jesus Christ, the Planned Parenthood abortion business took the occasion of Christmas Eve to send out a fundraising donation.

The Planned Parenthood Federation of America sent the email fundraising pitch under the headline “What really matters.” Apparently the birth of Christ pales in comparison to making sure the nation’s biggest abortion business has enough money to keep its clinics operating and it abortion advocacy lobbying going full steam.

The fundraising pitch even comes with a matching grant — with some pro-abortion donor taking the 25 in December 25th and matching it 1,000 times.

Jack Klugman Dies at Age 90, an Actor and also served in U.S. Army in World War II

Jack Klugman Dies at Age 90 and Veteran

Jack Klugman, one of television's most-loved actors, died today at the age of 90. He died peacefully at his home in Northridge, Calif., with his wife, Peggy, by his side, according to an announcement by his attorney.

In a career that spanned more than 60 years, Klugman epitomized the "everyman," and was best known for two popular television series of the 1970s and early 1980s: "The Odd Couple" and "Quincy, M.E."

In "The Odd Couple," about two divorced men living together -- a neat freak and a slob -- Klugman played Oscar Madison, the slob sportswriter to Tony Randall's overly fussy Felix Unger.

"The Odd Couple," which was based on Neil Simon's play of the same name, brought Klugman two Emmys, not bad for a man whose first drama teacher told him he was better suited to be a truck driver. The show ran for five years, and has lived on for decades in syndication.

PHOTOS: In Memoriam -- People We Lost in 2012

In "Quincy, M.E.," a precursor to "CSI," Klugman became just as iconic playing the relentless Los Angeles medical examiner with a talent for forensics. "We had some wonderful writers," Klugman said in a 1987 Associated Press interview. "Quincy was a muckraker, like Upton Sinclair, who wrote about injustices."

A heavy smoker, Klugman fought throat cancer, and subsequent surgery left him with a raspy voice, which was worked into later movie and TV roles, including "The Odd Couple: Together Again" in 1993 and "Dear God" in 1996.

A year after his "Odd Couple" co-star, Tony Randall, died in 2004, Klugman published "Tony and Me," and told CNN: "A world without Tony Randall is a world that I cannot recognize."

Klugman began his career in 1954 on the soap opera "The Greatest Gift." In the same year he made several appearances on the NBC legal drama "Justice," whose episodes drew from actual cases of the Legal Aid Society of New York.

His major movies included "12 Angry Men" (1957), playing juror No. 5; "Days of Wine and Roses" (1962), starring opposite Jack Lemmon; and "Goodbye Columbus" (1969), based on the novella by Philip Roth, starring Ali MacGraw and Richard Benjamin.

Born Jacob Joachim Klugman on April 22, 1922, in Philadelphia to Russian Jewish immigrants, Klugman studied acting at Carnegie Insitute of Technology (now Carnegie Mellon University). He served in the U.S. Army in World War II, and moved on to summer stock and off-Broadway, rooming with actor Charles Bronson, according to The Associated Press. He made his Broadway debut in 1952 in a revival of "Golden Boy." An early TV high point was appearing with Humphrey Bogart and Henry Fonda in a production of "The Petrified Forest." He also had roles in several "Twilight Zone" episodes.

He was married to actress-comedian Brett Somers, who played his ex-wife Blanche in "The Odd Couple," from 1953 until her death in 2007. His survivors include their two sons, Adam Klugman and David Klugman, and two grandchildren.

He married Peggy Crosby, the ex-wife of Bing Crosby's son, Phillip Crosby, in 2008.

Charles Durning, WW11 Veteran, awarded the Silver Star and three Purple Hearts, and Actor Passes Away R.I.P.

He portrayed everyone from blustery public officials to comic foils to put-upon everyman.

Charles Durning, the two-time Oscar nominee who was dubbed the king of the character actors for his skill in playing everything from a Nazi colonel to the pope, died Monday in New York City. He was 89.

Durning's longtime agent and friend Judith Moss told the Associated Press that he died of natural causes at his home in the borough of Manhattan.

"I was born a character actor," Durning told USA TODAY in 1990, when he starred as Big Daddy in a Broadway revival of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. "I was born looking older — and I've been aging since I was a teenager."

"The actor's actor," as Durning was eulogized by Henry Winkler on Twitter after his death, he portrayed everyone from blustery public officials to comic foils to put-upon everymen. But he may be best remembered by movie audiences for his Oscar-nominated, over-the-top role as a comically corrupt governor in 1982's The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.

Many critics marveled that such a heavyset man could be so nimble in the film's show-stopping song-and-dance number, not realizing Durning had been a dance instructor early in his career. Indeed, he had met his first wife, Carol, when both worked at a dance studio.

The year after Best Little Whorehouse, Durning received another Oscar nomination, for his portrayal of a bumbling Nazi officer in Mel Brooks' To Be or Not to Be. He was also nominated for a Golden Globe as the harried police lieutenant in 1975's Dog Day Afternoon.

He won a Golden Globe as best supporting TV actor in 1991 for his portrayal of John "Honey Fitz" Fitzgerald in the TV film The Kennedys of Massachusetts and a Tony in 1990 for his Hot Tin Roof role.

Durning had begun his career on stage, getting his first big break when theatrical producer Joseph Papp hired him for the New York Shakespeare Festival.

He went on to work regularly, if fairly anonymously, through the 1960s until his breakout role as a small town mayor in the Pulitzer- and Tony Award-winning play That Championship Season in 1972.

He quickly made an impression on movie audiences the following year as the crooked cop stalking con men Paul Newman and Robert Redford in the Oscar-winning comedy The Sting.

Dozens of notable portrayals followed. He was the would-be suitor of Dustin Hoffman, posing as a female soap opera star in Tootsie; the infamous seller of frog legs in The Muppet Movie; and Chief Brandon in Warren Beatty's Dick Tracy. He played Santa Claus in four different movies made for television and was the pope in the TV film I Would Be Called John: Pope John XXIII.

"I never turned down anything and never argued with any producer or director," Durning told the Associated Press in 2008, when he was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Other films included The Front Page, The Hindenburg, Breakheart Pass, North Dallas Forty, Starting Over, Tough Guys, Home for the Holidays,Spy Hard and O Brother Where Art Thou?.

Durning also did well in television as a featured performer as well as a guest star. He appeared in the short-lived series The Cop and the Kid (1975), Eye to Eye (1985) and First Monday (2002) as well as the four-season Evening Shade in the 1990s.

"If I'm not in a part, I drive my wife crazy," he acknowledged during a 1997 interview. "I'll go downstairs to get the mail, and when I come back I'll say, 'Any calls for me?'"

Durning's rugged early life provided ample material on which to base his later portrayals. He was born into an Irish family of 10 children in 1923, in Highland Falls, New York, a town near West Point. His father was unable to work, having lost a leg and been gassed during World War I, so his mother supported the family by washing the uniforms of West Point cadets.

The younger Durning himself would barely survive World War II.

He was among the first wave of U.S. soldiers to land at Normandy during the D-Day invasion and the only member of his Army unit to survive. He killed several Germans and was wounded in the leg. Later he was bayoneted by a young German soldier whom he killed with a rock. He was captured in the Battle of the Bulge and survived a massacre of prisoners.

In later years, he refused to discuss the military service for which he was awarded the Silver Star and three Purple Hearts."Too many bad memories," he told an interviewer in 1997. "I don't want you to see me crying."

"They train you to do awful things, then they release you and wonder why you are so bitter and angry," Durning told USA TODAY in 1994, when he narrated the Discovery Channel's Normandy: The Great Crusade. "Scars that you have from wounds heal. Scars that you have mentally never heal."

"There's no nobility with war. It's tear-'em-up destruction that leaves you frustrated, bitter and angry. ... If you really knew what it was like for an hour, you wouldn't want anyone to go through it."

In later years, he refused to discuss the military service for which he was awarded the Silver Star and three Purple Hearts.

"Too many bad memories," he told an interviewer in 1997. "I don't want you to see me crying."

Tragedy also stalked other members of his family. Durning was 12 when his father died, and five of his sisters lost their lives to smallpox and scarlet fever.

A high school counselor told him he had no talent for art, languages or math and should learn office skills. But after seeing King Kong and some of James Cagney's films, Durning knew what he wanted to do.

Leaving home at 16, he worked in a munitions factory, on a slag heap and in a barbed-wire factory. When he finally found work as a burlesque theater usher in Buffalo, he studied the comedians' routines, and when one of them showed up too drunk to go on one night, he took his place.

He would recall years later that he was hooked as soon as heard the audience laughing. He told the AP in 2008 that he had no plans to stop working.

"They're going to carry me out, if I go," he said.

Durning and his first wife had three children before divorcing in 1972. In 1974, he married his high school sweetheart, Mary Ann Amelio.

He is survived by his children, Michele, Douglas and Jeannine. The family plans a private family service and burial at Arlington National Cemetery.

.

from wiki:

Durning served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Drafted at age 21, he was first assigned as a rifleman with the 398th Infantry Regiment, and later served overseas with the 3rd Army Support troops and the 386th Anti-aircraft Artillery (AAA) Battalion. For his valor and the wounds he received during the war, Durning was awarded the Silver Star and three Purple Heart medals.

Durning participated in the Normandy Invasion of France on D-Day, June 6, 1944, and was among the first troops to land at Omaha Beach. In Episode S03E09 of the program Dinner for Five, which also included Burt Reynolds, Dom DeLuise and Charles Nelson Reilly), Reynolds spoke about Durning’s service career for him, as Durning did not like to talk about it much. Reynolds revealed that Durning was in a group of gliders who overshot their landing zone and that he had to fight alone all the way back to the beach. Reynolds also stated that his own father was there fighting about 15 yards away and that Durning was probably the most decorated veteran (then) still alive from World War II.Some sources state that he was with the 1st Infantry Division at the time, but it is unclear if he served as a rifleman or as a member of one of the division’s artillery battalions.[citation needed]

Durning was wounded by a German “S” Mine on June 15, 1944 at Les Mare des Mares, France. He was transported to the 24th Evacuation Hospital. By June 17 he was back in England at the 217th General Hospital. Although severely wounded by shrapnel in the left and right thighs, the right hand, the frontal region of the head, and the anterior left chest wall, Durning recovered quickly and was determined to be fit for duty on December 6, 1944. He arrived back at the front in time to take part in the Battle of the Bulge, the German counter-offensive through the Ardennes Forest of Belgium and Luxembourg in December 1944.

After being wounded again, this time in the chest, Durning was repatriated to the United States. He remained in Army hospitals to receive treatment for wounds until being discharged with the rank of Private First Class on January 30, 1946.

Advertising Guru Sells Hamptons Estate: ‘I don’t Want My Money Going To Obama’

FOX News

He got taxed out of town.

Legendary advertising guru Jerry Della Femina is the latest Hamptons fat cat to unload his East End spread at the precipice of the dreaded fiscal cliff, The Post has learned.

The flamboyant Madison Avenue guru has sold his 8,500-square-foot estate — the host of many legendary Hamptons bashes — for $25 million, and blames his flight squarely on President Obama’s fiscal policies.

“I want the proceeds of this sale to go to my kids and my grandkids,” said the man behind iconic ad campaigns for Meow Mix and Absolut Vodka. “I don’t want my money going to Obama, and that’s what’s going to happen in the New Year. That’s why I sold right now, that’s why I wanted to get this done.”

The listing broker for the East Hampton oceanfront property, Corcoran’s Susan Breitenbach, declined to comment on the megabucks deal.

Sources said that the buyers are a New York based family.

Della Femina’s buzzer-beating sale is just one of many big-ticket closings sweeping the Hamptons as affluent homeowners seek to move their blue-chip digs before taking a capital-gains beating in the coming year.

Obama Threatens Boehner: I’ll Use Inaugural Address And State Of The Union Speech To Bash Republicans

Obama repeatedly lost patience with the speaker as negotiations faltered. In an Oval Office meeting last week, he told Mr. Boehner that if the sides didn’t reach agreement, he would use his inaugural address and his State of the Union speech to tell the country the Republicans were at fault.

At one point, according to notes taken by a participant, Mr. Boehner told the president, “I put $800 billion [in tax revenue] on the table. What do I get for that?”

“You get nothing,” the president said. “I get that for free.”

Narcissist Obama Referred To Himself 63 Times During Eulogy For Senator Inouye

Here is the video for those that can stand to listen to this POS. I won't.

Narcissist Obama Referred To Himself 63 Times During Eulogy For Senator Inouye

Barack Obama used the funeral for Hawaii senator Daniel Inouye to talk about himself. In the short 1,600 word speech, Obama used the word “my” 21 times, “me” 12 times, and “I” 30 times.

Obama’s speech discussed how Inouye had gotten him interested in politics. “Danny was elected to the U.S. Senate when I was two years old,” he said.

Speaking to the audience at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., Obama talked about his family and their vacations.

"Now, even though my mother and grandparents took great pride that they had voted for him, I confess that I wasn't paying much attention to the United States Senate at the age of four or five or six. It wasn't until I was 11 years old that I recall even learning what a U.S. senator was, or it registering, at least. It was during my summer vacation with my family -- my first trip to what those of us in Hawaii call the Mainland," said Obama.

So we flew over the ocean, and with my mother and my grandmother and my sister, who at the time was two, we traveled around the country. It was a big trip. We went to Seattle, and we went to Disneyland -- which was most important. We traveled to Kansas where my grandmother's family was from, and went to Chicago, and went to Yellowstone. And we took Greyhound buses most of the time, and we rented cars, and we would stay at local motels or Howard Johnson's. And if there was a pool at one of these motels, even if it was just tiny, I would be very excited. And the ice machine was exciting -- and the vending machine, I was really excited about that.

But this is at a time when you didn’t have 600 stations and 24 hours' worth of cartoons. And so at night, if the TV was on, it was what your parents decided to watch. And my mother that summer would turn on the TV every night during this vacation and watch the Watergate hearings. And I can't say that I understood everything that was being discussed, but I knew the issues were important. I knew they spoke to some basic way about who we were and who we might be as Americans.

And so, slowly, during the course of this trip, which lasted about a month, some of this seeped into my head. And the person who fascinated me most was this man of Japanese descent with one arm, speaking in this courtly baritone, full of dignity and grace. And maybe he captivated my attention because my mom explained that this was our senator and that he was upholding what our government was all about. Maybe it was a boyhood fascination with the story of how he had lost his arm in a war. But I think it was more than that.

Now, here I was, a young boy with a white mom, a black father, raised in Indonesia and Hawaii. And I was beginning to sense how fitting into the world might not be as simple as it might seem. And so to see this man, this senator, this powerful, accomplished person who wasn't out of central casting when it came to what you'd think a senator might look like at the time, and the way he commanded the respect of an entire nation I think it hinted to me what might be possible in my own life.

BREAKING: Fox News Reporting U.S. Marine Jon Hammar being Released from a Mexican Prison!

Bill O’Reilly pounded the liberal media today for not reporting on the Jon Hammar story. O’Reilly said the media did not report the story “because they’re lemmings” and the plight of a Marine corporal who served his country in Afghanistan and Iraq and who had Post Traumatic Stress Disorder doesn’t really matter to them.”

BREAKING: Fox News Reporting U.S. Marine Jon Hammar being Released from a Mexican Prison!

Jon Hammar, the U.S. Marine who has been in a Mexican prison since August on a dubious weapon charge is being released today, his father confirmed to FoxNews.com.

Jon Hammar Sr. said during a flight layover in Houston that he was on his way to get his son, after he and his wife Olivia received a call Thursday night from their attorney, Eddie Varon-Levy telling them their son was going to be released.

"I haven't seen it in writing yet but Eddie has confirmed it with the court that Jon is being released today," Hammar Sr. said. "The U.S. consulate said they would pick Jon up at the prison and accompany him to the border crossing."

Hammar's family and legal team were headed to the border town of Brownsville, Texas, where they hope to have a joyful reunion sometime today. Hammar, 27, who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, has been stuck in a notorious, drug cartel-controlled prison just 15 miles south of the U.S. border since Aug. 13, after he crossed into Mexico and declared an antique shotgun to Mexican customs officials that was deemed illegal.

"The court ruled on the motion that excluded the evidence on the charge because of a violation of his constitutional rights under Mexican law which resulted in the charge being dropped," Hammar Sr. said.

The Marine's father said he is excited and scared, but won't rest until his son is on the U.S. side of the border. He said the two planned to bond on the the trip home to Palmetto Bay, Fla., which Hammar Sr. said would be made by car.

"Jon and I will drive back to Florida to give him some time alone, I don't think he would do well on a flight back," Hammar Sr. said.

Varon-Levy shared Hammar Sr.'s apprehension, saying his his optimism is tempered by security issues in Tamaulipas state which is controlled by Los Zetas Cartel. Hammar Jr.'s life was threatened while in prison resulting in a midnight extortion attempt from the prison.

"His security is at stake until he cross the border into the U.S.," Varon-Levy said.

Hammar Jr. has been in the notorious CEDES prison in Matamoros, Mexico since he was arrested at the border for bringing a shotgun into Mexico on a road trip with a fellow Marine veteran to Costa Rica.

News of his pending release came just a day after a letter surfaced from Mexico's ambassador to the U.S. that insisted Hammar's case would go to trial.

"This circumstance requires that he remain under detention during the duration of his trial," Arturo Sarukhan said in the letter.

Hammar, who was charged with a federal level weapon felony and faces up to 15 years in a Mexican prison for what his travel companion said was a breakdown in communication at the U.S.-Mexico border. He has been held in the notorious CEDES prison in Matamoros, Mexico, ever since. The prison is just 15 miles south of the border.

But there were questions about the case from the beginning. Ian McDonough, 27, a friend and fellow Marine who was with Hammar when he was nabbed, told FoxNews.com that four U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents told Hammar before he crossed into Mexico that as long as the required permit, which he completed, was submitted and he declared the gun to Mexican authorities, there would be no problem in bringing the vintage shotgun across the border.

The gun was a family heirloom that Hammar planned to use on a hunting and surfing trip in Costa Rica. Hammar, who suffered from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and McDonough hoped to forget about the horrors of war with some relaxation in the Central American nation after driving south through Mexico in their Winnebago.

On Thursday, two Republican congressmen called for a national travel boycott of Mexico until the country releases Hammar, urging "all Americans" to campaign for the war veteran's freedom by turning off the tap on America's tourism dollars. His case was also embraced by supporters through an extensive social media effort anchored by

Rep. Hunter calls for Americans to boycott Mexico ~ Good! The Heck With Mexico!

Rep. Hunter calls for Americans to boycott Mexico

Washington Times

Rep. Duncan Hunter, a California Republican and Marine combat veteran, called on Americans Thursday to boycott Mexico until that nation releases Jon Hammar, a former U.S. marine, from prison.

Mr. Hunter also said he is prepared to go to Mexico personally to demand Mr. Hammar's release.

Mexican authorities are holding Mr. Hammer on weapons charges after he carried his grandfather's antique shotgun across the border into Mexico in August.

Photos from Matamoros state prison show Mr. Hammar shackled to his bed.

"Getting this Marine out of prison and home to his family must be a priority," Mr. Hunter said. "Marines don't leave each other behind, and I'm willing to do whatever I can to see that he comes home safely."

He also said he wanted to see the U.S. State Department take a more active role in trying to win the man's release.

Mexico can go to hell. They are NOT our friend, they use our country, they could care less about the problem about our ILLEGALS and they even encourage them to come here. We should count up the rapes, and murders that have been done by the illegals and let Mexico have it with both barrels. Now when we need Mexico to do the right thing, they don't!

Sales Of Bulletproof Backpacks Soar After School Shootings

Sales Of Bulletproof Backpacks Soar After School Shootings

Parents may have a new option when it comes to protecting their children while at school in the wake of the Connecticut school shootings.

A Salt Lake City, Utah, company called Amendment II is offering a “Ballistic Backpack” lined with carbon nanotube armor sewn into the rear of the pack and comes in boys, girls, and teen/young adult models.

Jill Stringham with Amendment II told KNX 1070 NEWSRADIO that the product is the result of the company’s overall mission.

“Our goal has always been from the very beginning of this company is that we wanted to save lives, whatever level that is, we don’t care, whether that is children or military or Secret Service or whoever it is,” Stringham said. “Our passion and our goal and our science behind it is that we want to save lives.”

The backpacks – which cost $300 – weigh just slightly more than a regular backpack and can be easily swung to the front of the body to be used as a shield, or even “serve as center of mass protection while fleeing the scene of the shooting,” according to the company’s product description.

Demand for the product spiked so quickly following the shootings on Dec. 14 at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., that the company’s website has crashed at least once.

“[Customers] can’t get through because it’s taken them two to five minutes to upload our website,” Stringham said.

The “Ballistic Backpack” was initially offered in different styles for boys, girls and teens before Amendment II announced those styles were “no longer available.”

Other products being sold on the site include a tactical vest for children and designer armor for adults.

Stringham said the company will not make any profit off of sales of the backpacks.

Tennessee Considering Bill To Pay For Secretly Armed Teachers In Schools

Tennessee Considering Bill To Pay For Secretly Armed Teachers In Schools

Tennessee has emerged this week as a center of the “the answer is more guns in schools” sentiment following the Newtown, Conn. elementary school shooting.

A member of the Republican-controlled legislature plans during its upcoming session to introduce a bill that would allow the state to pay for secretly armed teachers in classrooms so, the sponsor told TPM, potential shooters don’t know who has a gun and who doesn’t.

Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam (R) has said the idea will be part of his discussions about how to prevent a shooting like the one in Newtown from happening in the Volunteer State.

As has been seen following other mass shootings, there’s a strong segment of the gun rights lobby that says the answer to events like the one in Newtown is more guns in more places. But they’ve said the recent massacre shows how important it is to put guns into elementary schools, where even gun-friendly states like Tennessee don’t currently allow them.

We will see how long it takes for the left to stop this, since they are so anti-gun. I hope not but time will tell.

Letter from Mexican ambassador dampens hope for early release of Jon Hammar

Letter from Mexican ambassador dampens hope for early release of Jon Hammar

FOX News

Any hope that Jon Hammar, the Marine imprisoned in Mexico on a disputed gun charge, might be freed in time for Christmas has apparently been dashed by a terse letter a top Mexican diplomat sent to Hammar’s congresswoman.

The two-page missive from Mexican Ambassador to the United States Arturo Sarukhan to Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fla.), who has been aggressively advocating for Hammar's release, leaves little hope of a diplomatic solution. In it, Sarukhan takes a thinly veiled swipe at the U.S., blaming it for gun proliferation south of the border.

"As you know well, Mexico has had very stringent gun-control laws in place for many years, and have reinforced their application as a result of the flow of weapons illicitly purchased in the U.S. and then trafficked into Mexico and into the hands of transnational criminal organizations," Sarukhan wrote.

Hammar has been stuck in a notorious, drug cartel-controlled prison just 15 miles south of the U.S. border since Aug. 13, after he crossed into Mexico and declared an antique shotgun to Mexican customs officials.

Sarukhan failed to mention that Tamaulipas, the state which the CEDES prison in Matamoros is located, is controlled by the Los Zetas Cartel, arguably the most vicious of the cartels.

Hammar’s father said the letter is fraught with statements at odds with what he knows and what his son has told him.

"There are huge inaccuracies about what is happening in their system," Jon Hammar Sr., said.

Sarukhan said Hammar was arrested for possession of a weapon that, according to Mexican law, is restricted for the exclusive use of the Mexican Armed Forces.

But high-ranking Mexican military officials have told Hammar's attorney, Eddie Varon-Levy, that the gun Hammar tried to declare shortly after crossing into Mexico on his way to Costa Rica is not the type of firearm the laws are meant to block. The gun Hammar claims he also declared to U.S. Customs and border protection is a .410 gauge antique Sears Roebuck shotgun.

But Mexico’s top diplomat to the U.S. said the letter of the law must be followed.

"Regardless of what he may have declared or stated to CBP agents and then to Mexican Customs authorities, the sole introduction or possession of this type of weapon (not withstanding its intended use or year of manufacture) in Mexican territory constitutes a federal crime in Mexico and is not subject to any prosecutorial discretion," Sarukhan said.

Varon-Levy disagreed, saying no one can make the argument the antique, small-gauge shotgun is anything resembling a military weapon. He said the prosecutor and his team can't even agree on specifics of the rifle.

Perhaps the biggest bone of contention Hammar’s family and legal team have with Sarukhan is the ambassador’s pledge that Hammar will be held “in conditions that ensure his well-being and his rights." Already, Hammar, who suffers post-traumatic stress disorder from his service in Iraq and Afghanistan, has been denied an interpreter at court appearances, had his life threatened and has been chained to a steel bed.

Two days after his arrest, Hammar's parents received a midnight extortion attempt by a male caller who said he “owned” the prison, giving credence to speculation that the criminal elements control CEDES prison.

The ambassador also neglected to appreciate the Nov. 23 incident where Hammar was brought to court before the judge -- there are no jury trials in Mexico -- and asked to plea without his lawyer or even the arresting customs agent present.

Sarukhan claims in the letter that, had Hammar pleaded guilty at a Nov. 23 appearance, he would have likely been released. But Varon-Levy said his client was brought before a judge with no attorney present and no way of understanding what was happening. And despite Sarukhan’s claim, conviction on the charge carries a potential penalty of 15 years in prison.

In his letter, Sarukhan alluded to the fact there will be no wiggle room for negotiation and that Hammar is going trial.

"This circumstance requires that he remain under detention during the duration of his trial," Sarukhan said.

A trial date is set for Jan. 17.

Arizona State University Votes To Rename Columbus Day “Indigenous People Day” ~ Idiots!

Arizona State University Votes To Rename Columbus Day “Indigenous People Day”

The student government at Arizona State University has voted to change Columbus Day to Indigenous People Day. The Tempe Undergraduate Student Government Senate passed Bill 44 to rename the holiday after contentious debate on campus.

Christopher Columbus has long been known as an admirable adventurer in American lore whose adventurous spirit led him to “discover” America. But, in recent years his legacy has faced mounting criticism for the perceived negative effects his life had on Native Americans.

In the United States, Columbus Day is an official federal holiday. However, not all states recognize the day. South Dakota, instead, celebrates Native American Day. The name “Indigenous People Day” originated in Berkley, California, a city that began celebrating the holiday as an alternative to Columbus Day in 1992.

In Tempe, students were split on the issue. Those in support of the change believed that the bill was a positive way to commemorate the Native Americans whose lives they say were lost as a result of Columbus’s arrival to the New World. The opposition said the bill was an example of unnecessary political correctness. There was also another group that preferred that the campus do away with celebrating the day for either cause.

Obama's Entire Middle East Policy Has Failed And The Problem Is About To Get Worse

Obama's Entire Middle East Policy Has Failed And The Problem Is About To Get Worse

FOX News

The Benghazi Report has condemned the State Department for “systemic failures and leadership and management deficiencies.” Four officials have resigned, and a few more lesser heads are likely to roll. Secretary Clinton may have said she takes full responsibility, but she has successfully managed to avoid taking the blame. With the holidays fast approaching, she and senior White House officials can now wash their hands of the matter.

But the Benghazi report misses the point. The events of September 11 are a symptom of a much larger problem -- the Obama administration’s entire Middle East policy has failed. And the problem is about to get much worse as the as yet unpunished but ascendant Al Qaeda and its affiliates contemplate what they might do next to attack Americans.

Less than two years ago, the entire region was at peace. Granted, it was an uneasy peace, but it’s a region where for thousands of years an uneasy peace was as good as it gets. Granted, many countries were governed by dictators, but at least they were pro-American dictators. Granted, some countries continually railed against Israel, but none of them were actually in a fighting war with Israel.

Muslim Barack Hussein Obama has only one policy, that is kiss up to the Muslims and the hell with America and Americans and the hell with Israel.

A Simple Act of Kindness and Compassion from Gov. Perry

A Simple Act of Kindness and Compassion from Gov. Perry

You can tell a lot about a man just from watching the way he treats his momma, children, and dogs.
The best of men treat all three with the utmost of kindness, respect, and dignity.

This morning I was invited to attend a Holiday coffee reception for the Capitol Press Corps at the newly-renovated Governor’s Mansion, hosted by Gov. Rick Perry. We were allowed to invite one guest, so I invited my 11-year old niece to be my date.

As a 6th grader, she’s currently studying Texas History in school, and I thought this would be a wonderful opportunity for her to see some real Texas history up close and in person (if you have never been in the Governor’s Mansion, the first floor is a remarkable museum of Texas history, with paintings, artifacts, furniture, and collections from governors dating all the way back to Elisha M. Pease, the first Texas Governor to live in the Governor’s Mansion upon it’s completion in 1854).

Additionally, my niece’s dog — a 6-year old Chocolate Lab/Weimeraner mix — was put to sleep yesterday evening after being diagnosed with Splenic Mastocytosis (a form of cancer spreading through his blood stream). I thought that skipping school and going on a little field trip to meet our state’s Governor would help cheer her up.

Being that the reception was filled with a bunch of journalists who were busy trying to get a quote for their next anti-Rick Perry screed, rather than acting like guests in the home of the Governor, it was hard to find a moment to introduce me niece — the only child in attendance — to the Governor. When we finally did get a moment, you could tell that he was relieved to get away from the reporters, and invited my niece into the library for an introduction and picture.

I mentioned to Gov. Perry – a big dog lover himself (we met his black Lab, Rory, at the end of the reception) — that my niece had just buried her beloved dog Nolan (named after the Texas legendary pitcher Nolan Ryan) the night before. Gov. Perry immediately put his arm around her shoulder and said, “Come on, I want to show you something.” Then the two of them slipped out a side door between the dining room and the library and disappeared together out onto the Mansion grounds.

When they came back in about 15 minutes later, my niece told me that Gov. Perry had taken her outside to show her where his last dog, Lady Perry, was buried on the Mansion grounds, and talked to her about life and loss and the value of a good dog.

It was a moment of simple and genuine kindness toward a little girl still mourning the loss of beloved dog, but one that made a huge impression on her. And one that she and I both appreciate immensely. Thank you, sir.

There’s a scene in the movie Cookie’s Fortune, where Willis Richland (played by Charles S. Dutton) is sitting in jail, suspected of killing his long time friend Jewel Mae “Cookie” Orcutt (Patricia Neal). The Sheriff (Ned Beatty) tells the prosecutor “He’s innocent.” When the prosecutor asks how he knows that, the sheriff says, “Because I’ve fished with him.”

I was reminded of that scene while driving my niece back to school. And reflecting on some of the other times I’ve spent around Governor Perry. You may not like his politics. You can mock his debating skills and inability to remember the third item on a list of three. But he’s a damned good and decent man. I know; I’ve seen how he treats dogs and children.

Wild Thing's comment....................

Gov. Perry is such a good man, a special man. I will always be one of his supporters.

Krauthammer: Obama Invoking Massacre of Children to Pressure GOP Fiscal Surrender a “Sacrilege”

Charles Krauthammer says it about as well as it can be said. He reacts to President Obama today suggesting that in the wake of the Newtown, Connecticut Elementary School Massacre, Republicans should essentially just cave in to his terms on the “Fiscal Cliff” negotiations – as if the one has anything to do with the other.

I think the president invoking the massacre of children to essentially say the Republicans need to accept his terms of surrender in the negotiations is not just a non-sequitur. I think it’s sacrilege. And it’s of a piece with the whole tone of his News Conference and this is the way he conducts them generally, which is, he is excessively self-righteous. He talks about the other side of being unprincipled, not interested in the national interest, slaves of ideology which he says makes no sense. And as you mention, invested in opposing him to the point they are willing to let the country suffer. So it’s a combination of self-righteousness and narcissism. It’s just a very unpleasant tone and there is no reason he can’t either avoid that, or give some credit to the other side for sincerity in just seeing a different way to approach the crisis the country has.

Unreal. The parents of Jon Hammar, a former Marine held in Mexico on gun charges, were on with Bill O’Reilly tonight. The parents told O’Reilly the Obama State Department told the family “they can’t do anything” to help them.

Jon Hammar has been in a Mexican prison for four months on what is being called a trumped-up federal weapon charge. He was arrested Aug. 13 in Matamoros after he declared to Mexican customs agents a shotgun he planned to use for hunting in Costa Rica. He’s been held in jail since August and chained to a bed.

Rick Perry talks guns with Washington Times, calls his favorite rifle a ‘work of art’

Gov. Rick Perry's rifle of choice is a LaRue OBR 5.56.(LaRue Tactical)

Rick Perry’s favorite rifle is a LaRue OBR 5.56, but he’s also fond of his Colt .45 and 12-gauge shotgun.

The governor agreed to talk firearms, well at least exchange emails, with the Washington Times for a feature it’s doing on newsmakers and their gun collections.

He call his LaRue rifle a “work of art” and said one of his favorite hobbies is going to LaRue tactical and using their gun range for target practice.

He said target shooting was a way for him to unwind and relax. Indeed, in South Carolina, while campaigning for president, the governor peeled off from the schedule for a stolen half-hour at a shooting range.

In the article, he referred to it as “my form of golf.”

“I’m still trying to get a hole in one – five rounds in the same hole – but I haven’t quite got there yet,” Perry said.

Awesome Speech One Of The Fathers of a Victim of the Columbine High School Shootings

COLUMBINE STUDENT'S FATHER 12 YEARS LATER!!

Guess our national leaders didn't expect this. On Thursday ( 1999 ) , Darrell Scott, the father of Rachel Scott, a victim of the Columbine High School shootings in Littleton, Colorado, was invited to address the House Judiciary Committee's subcommittee. What he said to our national leaders during this special session of Congress was painfully truthful.

They were not prepared for what he was to say, nor was it received well. It needs to be heard by every parent, every teacher, every politician, every Sociologist, every Psychologist, and every so-called expert! These courageous words spoken by Darrell Scott are powerful, penetrating, and deeply personal. There is no doubt that God sent this man as a voice crying in the wilderness..

The following is a portion of the transcript:

"Since the dawn of creation there has been both good & evil in the hearts of men and women. We all contain the seeds of kindness or the seeds of violence. The death of my wonderful daughter, Rachel Joy Scott, and the deaths of that heroic teacher, and the other eleven children who died must not be in vain. Their blood cries out for answers.

"The first recorded act of violence was when Cain slew his brother Abel out in the field. The villain was not the club he used.. Neither was it the NCA, the National Club Association. The true killer was Cain, and the reason for the murder could only be found in Cain's heart.

"In the days that followed the Columbine tragedy, I was amazed at how quickly fingers began to be pointed at groups such as the NRA. I am not a member of the NRA. I am not a hunter. I do not even own a gun. I am not here to represent or defend the NRA - because I don't believe that they are responsible for my daughter's death. Therefore I do not believe that they need to be defended. If I believed they had anything to do with Rachel's murder I would be their strongest opponent

I am here today to declare that Columbine was not just a tragedy -- it was a spiritual event that should be forcing us to look at where the real blame lies! Much of the blame lies here in this room. Much of the blame lies behind the pointing fingers of the accusers themselves. I wrote a poem just four nights ago that expresses my feelings best.

Your laws ignore our deepest needs,
Your words are empty air.
You've stripped away our heritage,
You've outlawed simple prayer.
Now gunshots fill our classrooms,
And precious children die.
You seek for answers everywhere,
And ask the question "Why?"
You regulate restrictive laws,
Through legislative creed.
And yet you fail to understand,
That God is what we need!

"Men and women are three-part beings. We all consist of body, mind, and spirit. When we refuse to acknowledge a third part of our make-up, we create a void that allows evil, prejudice, and hatred to rush in and wreak havoc. Spiritual presences were present within our educational systems for most of our nation's history. Many of our major colleges began as theological seminaries. This is a historical fact. What has happened to us as a nation? We have refused to honor God, and in so doing, we open the doors to hatred and violence. And when something as terrible as Columbine's tragedy occurs -- politicians immediately look for a scapegoat such as the NRA. They immediately seek to pass more restrictive laws that contribute to erode away our personal and private liberties. We do not need more restrictive laws. Eric and Dylan would not have been stopped by metal detectors. No amount of gun laws can stop someone who spends months planning this type of massacre. The real villain lies within our own hearts.

"As my son Craig lay under that table in the school library and saw his two friends murdered before his very eyes, he did not hesitate to pray in school. I defy any law or politician to deny him that right! I challenge every young person in America , and around the world, to realize that on April 20, 1999, at Columbine High School prayer was brought back to our schools. Do not let the many prayers offered by those students be in vain. Dare to move into the new millennium with a sacred disregard for legislation that violates your God-given right to communicate with Him. To those of you who would point your finger at the NRA -- I give to you a sincere challenge.. Dare to examine your own heart before casting the first stone! My daughter's death will not be in vain! The young people of this country will not allow that to happen!" - Darrell Scott

.

Wild Thing's comment....................

This is an awesome speech and I recommend everyone to read it and share it if you like.

Interesting to note that not only were his words ignored by so many, way too many, but it has even gotten worse leaving God out of schools, and other places.

DEMOCRAT Rep. Jim Moran's violent political life

Rep. Jim Moran's violent political life.......

Corruption, violence, choking a child, and 'the eyes of a madman'

The Daily Caller

The day after Bill Clinton admitted on national television that he had carried on an affair with Monica Lewinsky, Democratic Virginia Rep. Jim Moran lamented the baseness of the national scandal.

“This whole sordid mess is just too tawdry and tedious and embarrassing,” he said in 1998. “It’s like a novel that just became too full of juicy parts and bizarre, sleazy characters.”

The criticism was stinging, mainly because Moran’s own reputation for sleaze preceded him.

Last week, another chapter was added to Moran’s tawdry political career when his son was arrested outside of a Washington, D.C. bar for, according to police, grabbing his girlfriend “by the back of the head with his hand and slam[ming] her head” into a “metal trashcan cage.”

The report went on to quote a medical technician who said the girl’s nose looked broken and “her right eye socket could possibly be fractured which is actually considered a skull fracture.”

Rep. Moran seemed nonplussed by the incident, calling his son and his battered girlfriend “good kids” and saying they “look forward to putting this embarrassing situation behind them.”

Moran has experience with putting embarrassing situations in the rear view mirror. His career has led from one embarrassment to the next, including numerous physical confrontations, bombastic accusations against individuals and even an ethnic group, and a history of sketchy financial dealings.

A former amateur boxer, Moran has taken the skills he honed in the ring into elective office — literally.

In the mid-1980s, he served as mayor of Alexandria, Va., where he reportedly had a history of engaging in physical altercations while in office.

“The Mayor was clearly guilty of assault on more than one occasion,” an officer told the online news site Capitol Hill Blue in a 1999 profile of Moran. “But the word came down. The Mayor was off limits. Ordinary citizens go to jail. Not the Mayor.”

“He was a bully and a thug … we’d call the cops but they wouldn’t do anything,” added a bartender in Alexandria where Moran caroused.

One combatant during that time said when Moran and he got into a confrontation he quickly realized he “was looking into the eyes of a madman.”

As a congressman in 1995, Moran got into a scuffle — what’s been described as a “shoving match” — with now-disgraced Republican Rep. Duke Cunningham, on the House floor. In 1999, Moran’s wife called the cops on him, saying he grabbed her in the heat of an argument. He claimed he was just restraining her and no charges were filed, but wife number two filed for divorce the next day.

Most bizarrely, in 2000, Moran attacked an 8-year-old boy he claimed threatened to carjack him, though the boy said he simply told Moran he “liked his car.” Moran was accused of grabbing the boy by the neck and screaming profanities at him. “He choked me and cussed at me,” said the boy, whom The Washington Times described as under five feet tell and weighing less than 100 pounds.

Moran called the charges “all lies.”

A veteran Democratic lawmaker believes the nation will go along with stronger gun control laws if President Obama “exploits” the Newtown, Conn., tragedy and nudges Congress to action.

Rep. Jerrold Nadler, who represents portions of New York City, said he was encouraged by Mr. Obama’s statement on Friday afternoon that the mass shooting, which claimed the lives of 20 young children, requires “meaningful action” by Congress, but hopes those words turn into concrete legislation.

“These incidents, these horrible, horrible incidents … are happening more and more frequently. And they will continue to happen more and more frequently until someone with the bully pulpit, and that means the president, takes leadership and pushes Congress,” Mr. Nadler said during an appearance on MSNBC’s “The Ed Show” with Ed Schultz.

Mr. Nadler was asked whether the Newtown tragedy could be the turning point in many Democrats’ longstanding struggle to enact stronger gun laws.

“I think we will be there if the president exploits it, and otherwise we’ll go on to the next” incident, Mr. Nadler said.

“Westboro will picket Sandy Hook Elementary School to sing praise to God for the glory of his work in executing his judgment,” Shirley Phelps-Roper tweeted on Dec. 15.

“They need to come back to Oklahoma,” Bryan Weathers, from Moore, said. “We know how to take care of them here.”

“Westboro ‘God hates Fags’ Baptist Church is planning to pciket at Sandy Hook, to praise ‘God’s judgment,’” Margie Phelps tweeted as well on Dec. 15.

Gun Crime Soars in England by 35% Where Guns Are Banned

Gun Crime Soars in England by 35% Where Guns Are Banned

Townhall

Since NBC sportscaster Bob Costas gave us an anti-gun lecture two weeks ago during Sunday Night Football, we’ve heard a lot from progressives like Juan Williams, Bob Beckel and anti-gun advocacy groups about how countries in Europe with strict gun control laws don’t have problems with gun crime. We’ve also heard the reason the United States has a “gun crime problem” is because we allow citizens to own handguns however, the numbers on violent crime committed using a gun tell a different story.

New data out from the UK, where guns are banned, shows gun crime has soared by 35 percent.

The Government’s latest crime figures were condemned as “truly terrible” by the Tories today as it emerged that gun crime in England and Wales soared by 35% last year.

Criminals used handguns in 46% more offences, Home Office statistics revealed.

Firearms were used in 9,974 recorded crimes in the 12 months to last April, up from 7,362.

It was the fourth consecutive year to see a rise and there were more than 2,200 more gun crimes last year than the previous peak in 1993.

Wild Thing's comment................

This is the kind of thing that needs to be hammered into the brains of the gun haters. They do not care about the victims as much as they hate guns. They use the slaughter of the innocent to push their left agenda against guns.

Dem Rep. Jerry Nadler Calls On Obama To Label The NRA “Enablers Of Mass Murderers”

Dem Rep. Jerry Nadler Calls On Obama To Label The NRA “Enablers Of Mass Murderers”

Source

Today, following the shooting massacre of 20 children in a Connecticut school, President Obama said that “meaningful action” needed to be taken to prevent such tragedies from happening in the future.

But what “meaningful action” can Obama actually take, given Republican control of the House and Congress’ deeply felt fear of the politically mighty National Rifle Association? And politics aside, what new laws would actually solve or make a dent in the country’s crazed-gunman problem?

Rep. Jerry Nadler said thinks that the president has only one option.

“There’s only one meaningful action he can take, which is to take on the N.R.A., label them as the enablers of mass murderers they are, really push for strong gun-control legislation and call out those congressional leaders who don’t support it,” Nadler told me this afternoon.

“It is time to call out the N.R.A. as enablers of mass murder and start embarrassing people and saying, ‘Who do you stand with? The parents and children of this country or the potential mass murderers?’”

Nadler said there’s nothing else Obama can do, realistically.

“There is no other meaningful action,” Nadler said. “He has to know that. … I can’t imagine what else he could have meant.”

So it begins, when will they ban cars and baseball bats, and knives and how about windows..people have been thrown out of windows.

Convenient: Hillary Clinton Won’t Testify On Benghazi After Suffering A Concussion

Source

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton won’t testify to Congress next week on Benghazi, after fainting and suffering a concussion Saturday and due to her ongoing stomach ailment.

“While suffering from a stomach virus, Secretary Clinton became dehydrated and fainted, sustaining a concussion,” Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Philippe Reines said in a statement. “She has been recovering at home and will continue to be monitored regularly by her doctors. At their recommendation, she will continue to work from home next week, staying in regular contact with Department and other officials. She is looking forward to being back in the office soon.”

Deputy Secretaries of State Bill Burns and Tom Nides will both testify in Clinton’s place, according to the office of Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman John Kerry (D-MA).

“Secretary Clinton’s team contacted Senator Kerry this morning to inform them of the Secretary’s concussion. Senator Kerry was relieved to hear that the Secretary is on the mend, but he insisted that given her condition, she could not and should not appear on Thursday as previously planned, and that the nation’s best interests are served by the report and hearings proceeding as scheduled with senior officials appearing in her place,” said Kerry spokeswoman Jodi Seth in a statement.

Michigan’s sudden legislative decision to declare itself a right-to-work state has prompted angry protests from President Obama and organized labor, but voters by a two-to-one margin think right-to-work laws are good for a state economically.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 45% of Likely U.S. Voters believe right-to-work laws are good for a state’s economy. Just half that many (22%) disagree. Seven percent (7%) think right-to-work laws have no impact. A sizable 25% are not sure.

Obama Quietly Grants Amnesty To More Than 100K Illegal Immigrants…

Washington Times

The administration has issued stays of deportation for 102,965 illegal immigrants under President Obama’s new non-deportation policy, officials announced Friday.

Another 157,151 applications are still under review under the policy, officially known as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, which grants a tentative legal status to illegal immigrants who qualify — though it does not grant them a path to citizenship.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the Homeland Security branch that administers the program, said 12,014 applications were rejected off the bat, while as many as 177,000 more applications are having their biometric data taken before entering the final review.

Mr. Obama announced the policy in June, saying he would no longer deport illegal immigrants who were brought to the U.S. as children as long as they haven’t committed any major crimes.

Mexicans make up the vast majority of applications, topping 70 percent of those submitted. Next highest is El Salvador with less than 5 percent. South Korea has the largest contingent from outside Latin America at less than 2 percent.

Wild Thing's comment.....................

Obama more concerned with the illegals then he is about our Marine that is in prison in Mexico.

It is not my America anymore, he might as well take this nation all the way to hell like he wants to do. Sandy Hook Shooter’s Mother Not A Teacher At School, He Just Decided To Kill Children

Wall Street Journal...Click link for more information.

Initially it was reported Adam Lanza killed his mother in her classroom at the elementary school, now it turns out she wan’t a teacher or even connected to the school. He killed her at their house, then drove to the school and killed 20 children. Mind blowing.

A former school board official in Newtown called into question earlier reports that Nancy Lanza had been connected to Sandy Hook Elementary School, possibly as part of the teaching staff.

“No one has heard of her,” said Lillian Bittman, who served on the local school board until 2011. “Teachers don’t know her.”

Communist Dem Rep. Maxine Waters Says American Flag Burners Are Patriotic

Dem Rep. Maxine Waters: Poor White Voters Brainwashed By “Right-Wing” To Think American Flag Burners Aren’t Patriotic

MARC LAMONT HILL: Tell me what it means to not vote in your own best interest. Why would a poor white mechanic from West Virginia vote for the Tea Party and not vote for a Democrat?

REP. MAXINE WATERS: It has been organized in different ways. For example, when you have a person as you just described and they’re being told that the biggest issue that they have to be concerned about perhaps is abortion. And abortion is a defiance of God and that the bible speaks against it, they center them on these kinds of issues. The burning of the flag. Somehow if you have some people out there protesting – that they’re not patriotic, they’re against this country. Then they’ll go and indentify people in Congress as socialist who don’t care about America. And they get these people to believe that. and they have been very expert at organizing many of the Churches around these right-wing ideas.
And so that’s why I say we’re going to have to find a way of doing a better job of educating and getting into these communities and helping people to understand, we are the ones who talk about job creation, we’re the ones who want to invest in the infrastructure, fix up these roads, highways and water systems. so you can have some jobs. we’re the ones trying to protect social security.

Domino’s Pizza Founder Sues Government Over Obamacare

The founder of Domino’s Pizza is suing the federal government over Obamacare.

My FOX NY

The founder of Domino’s Pizza is suing the federal government over mandatory contraception coverage in the new health care law.

Tom Monaghan, a devout Roman Catholic, says contraception is not health care and instead is a “gravely immoral” practice. He’s a plaintiff in a lawsuit filed Friday in federal court, along with his Domino’s Farms, which runs an office park near Ann Arbor.

Monaghan offers health insurance that excludes contraception and abortion for employees. The new law requires employers to offer insurance that includes contraception coverage or risk fines. Monaghan says the law violates his constitutional rights, and he’s asking a judge to strike down the mandate.

U.S. Marine Jon Hammar Imprisoned in Mexican Prison since August; Chained to Bed

This is a travesty, and President Barack Obama should personally do something about it.

Former U.S. Marine Jon Hammar is being held in a Mexican Prison, chained to his bed, while demands are made of his family to pay money to keep him safe. Hammar was jailed after he entered Mexico with an antique firearm that he had declared and been told he could enter the country with in his possession. But upon entry, he was jailed. This was last August. August! Where is President Obama in this? Hopefully, pressure that is finally building in some media circles in reporting this story will force his hand to do something about it. Let’s hope and pray he is home by Christmas.

OBAMACARE TAX: Medical Companies Plan For Layoffs as Fees Loom

OBAMACARE TAX:Medical Companies Plan For Layoffs as Fees Loom

Medical companies brace for 'devastating' ObamaCare tax, prepare for layoffs

FOX News

Andre DiMino has been running medical device company ADM Tronics since his father, who founded the decades-old firm, died in 2001. He's never laid off anybody.

"These people are like family with us," he said.

The boss might not be able to hold out much longer. Come Jan. 1, an ObamaCare-tied tax specific to his industry is expected to go into effect. Though the Obama administration has downplayed the impact, DiMino calls it "devastating."

"I think after all of these decades of not laying people off, I think we may have to face that," DiMino told FoxNews.com. He predicted he might have to immediately lay off three people in his manufacturing division and possibly more after that.

DiMino, whose Bergen County, N.J., business currently employs 20 workers, is one of hundreds of CEOs across the country clamoring for Washington's attention, urging lawmakers to kill the tax before it kills jobs.

In just the last few days, the intense lobbying push elicited some measure of response. On Monday, 18 Democratic senators and senators-elect asked Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid to delay the tax, citing the business impact. They noted the industry employs more than 400,000 people, and is dealing with "significant uncertainty and confusion."

Many in the industry, though, have been clear-eyed about what the tax means -- preemptive layoffs and significant cutbacks in research and development.

While DiMino is waiting for next year to see if he'll need to fire workers, over at Uresil, LLC, in Skokie, Ill., the layoffs have already started. The company laid off six people from its 52-person workforce this year, "primarily related" to the tax, President Lev Melinyshyn said.

"We had never laid off anybody," he told FoxNews.com. "We bought the company in 2004, never had a layoff. In fact, even during the recession, we added jobs. ... It wasn't until this tax hit us that we had to do it."

Melinyshyn, whose company makes specialized catheters, said he thinks that at current staffing levels, his 46-person company can handle the tax -- however, he's expecting to cut back sharply on product development, which hurts in the long run.

"A lot of patients, I think, are not going to benefit from new technologies," he said. "We've literally put all of our new product development on hold ... so we can afford to pay the stupid tax."

The Affordable Care Act imposed the 2.3 percent tax on medical devices with the goal of raising nearly $30 billion over the next decade. Manufacturers say the impact of the tax is far greater than meets the eye -- the 2.3 percent tax is on gross sales, meaning it's a much greater percentage of net income.

Melinyshyn, for instance, said his total tax burden on profits will rise from 43 percent to 65 percent next year.

"It's huge," he said.

Another Illinois-based CEO -- Greg Huck of Vitalcor, Inc. -- suggested lawmakers should at least carve out an exemption for small companies and start-ups.

It's not just small businesses feeling the pinch, though.

Michigan-based Stryker Corporation, a company of 20,000 people, last year announced it was laying off 1,000 workers in anticipation of the tax -- and a $100 million bill in the first year. The company remains concerned about the tax.

"We would rather put this money towards jobs, innovation, clinical research and priorities that will create value-added medical technology for patients while helping us partner with hospitals to deliver cost effective solutions," CEO Kevin A. Lobo said in a statement.

The Advanced Medical Technology Association estimates that the tax ultimately could cost up to 43,000 jobs.

It's unclear, though, whether any attempt to delay or quash it could be made as part of negotiations over the looming fiscal crisis. Far more attention has been paid to the expiration of the Bush-era tax rates -- and the battle over whether to allow rates to rise exclusively for the top 2 percent.

The IRS recently provided some relief to worried medical device executives, announcing that penalties would not be imposed for failing to pay the tax for the first three quarters of 2013.

The Obama administration earlier this year defended the medical device tax, saying companies actually stand to benefit from the law. Though the 2.3 percent tax hits the industry, the department argues that the millions of new health care customers insured as a result of the law will increase the demand in hospitals to order more equipment -- in turn boosting medical device companies' profits.

The White House earlier this year threatened to veto a House bill that would have repealed the tax, citing concerns that the House proposal would offset the lost revenue from the tax by cutting down on subsidies for some families.

This, the White House said, would effectively "raise taxes on middle-class and low-income families."

The industry, though, argues Congress could always negotiate a different way to pay for the repeal.

DiMino said some of the damage has already been felt, not just from layoffs, but from investors "running away" from the industry.

"They know we're being targeted," he said.

Throw the POS Obamacare OUT for God's sake. sheesh

AP: With Election Over, Obama Unleashes Tidal Wave Of New Business-Killing Regulations

AP: With Election Over, Obama Unleashes Tidal Wave Of New Business-Killing Regulations

WASHINGTON (AP) — While the “fiscal cliff” of looming tax increases and spending cuts dominates political conversation in Washington, some Republicans and business groups see signs of a “regulatory cliff” that they say could be just as damaging to the economy.

For months, federal agencies and the White House have sidetracked dozens of major regulations that cover everything from power plant pollution to workplace safety to a crackdown on Wall Street.

The rules had been largely put on hold during the presidential campaign as the White House sought to quiet Republican charges that President Barack Obama was an overzealous regulator who is killing U.S. jobs.

But since the election, the Obama administration has quietly reopened the regulations pipeline.

In recent weeks, the Environmental Protection Agency has proposed rules to update water quality guidelines for beaches and other recreational waters and deal with runoff from logging roads. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, meanwhile, has proposed long-delayed regulations requiring auto makers to include event data recorders – better known as “black boxes” – in all new cars and light trucks beginning in 2014.

The administration also has initiated several rules to implement its health care overhaul, including a new fee to cushion the cost of covering people with pre-existing conditions.

Obama has spent the past year "punting" on a slew of job-killing regulations that will be unleashed in a second term, said Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla. With the election over, it's now "full speed ahead" for federal rules limiting greenhouse gas emissions, requiring cleaner gasoline and putting controls on drilling for oil and natural gas, said Inhofe, the senior Republican on the Senate Environment Committee.

"Under an Obama EPA that has earned a reputation for abuse, American families will be subjected to a regulatory onslaught that will drive up energy prices, destroy millions of jobs and further weaken the economy," he wrote in a 14-page report on expected EPA regulations for 2013. The report predicts an influx of regulations that "spell doom for jobs and economic growth."

U.S. Deficit Jumps To $172 Billion In November, On Path For Fifth Straight Year Topping $1 Trillion

U.S. Deficit “Unexpectedly” Jumps To $172 Billion In November, On Path For Fifth Straight Year Topping $1 Trillion…

FOX News

The U.S. budget deficit unexpectedly increased in November, to $172 billion for the month — pushing the country one step closer to the limit on government borrowing.

The Treasury said Wednesday the deficit last month was $22 billion more than the October mark and up from $137 billion in November 2011.

The numbers paint a gloomy picture of the country’s fiscal health and could complicate already delicate negotiations in Washington over tax rates and spending cuts with a deadline looming to to avert a fiscal crisis.

The Treasury said the unexpired jump was the result of a calendar quirk that pulled into November about $33 billion in benefits payments slated for December.

The new number could puts the country on pace to notch its fifth-straight annual deficit over $1 trillion. The government finished the 2012 budget year, which ends Sept. 30, with a deficit of $1.1 trillion.

With the economy and hiring improving a bit, the government is receiving more tax receipts. Overall tax revenue increased 10 percent in the first two months of the budget year to $346 billion. But spending has increased faster, up $87 billion or 16 percent.

The deficit, in simplest terms, is the amount of money the government has to borrow when revenues fall short of expenses. Last year’s deficit was lower than the previous year but still painfully high by historical standards.

Obama’s presidency has coincided with four straight $1 trillion-plus deficits — the first in history and a record he had to vigorously defend during his re-election campaign. He had promised in February 2009 to cut the deficit in half by the end of this first term.

New Army Manual Orders Soldiers Not To Criticize Taliban ~ INSANE

New Army Manual Orders Soldiers Not To Criticize Taliban

Judicial Watch

Here is a strong indicator that the Obama Administration’s crusade to appease Islam has gone too far; a new U.S. military handbook for troops deployed to the Middle East orders soldiers not to make derogatory comments about the Taliban or criticize pedophilia, among other outrageous things.

It gets better; the new manual, which is around 75 pages, suggests that Western ignorance of Afghan culture— not Taliban infiltration—is responsible for the increase in deadly attacks by Afghan soldiers against the coalition forces.

The soon-to-be-released Army handbook is still being drafted, but a mainstream newspaper got a sneak preview and published an article that should infuriate the American taxpayers funding the never-ending war on terror. The manual is being created because someone with authority bought the theory that cultural insensitivity is driving insider attacks on U.S. troops in Afghanistan.

More than three dozen insider attacks have killed 63 members of the U.S.-led coalition this year, according to the article, and some blame “American cultural ignorance.” The bottom line is that troops may experience social-cultural shock and/or discomfort when interacting with Afghan security forces, the new military handbook says. “Better situational awareness/understanding of Afghan culture will help better prepare [troops] to more effectively partner and to avoid cultural conflict that can lead toward green-on-blue violence.”

The draft leaked to the newspaper offers a list of “taboo conversation topics” that soldiers should avoid, including “making derogatory comments about the Taliban,” “advocating women’s rights,” “any criticism of pedophilia,” “directing any criticism towards Afghans,” “mentioning homosexuality and homosexual conduct” or “anything related to Islam.”

At least one high-ranking military official had the backbone to publicly criticize the new manual, albeit through a spokesperson. U.S. Marine General John Allen, the top commander in Afghanistan, doesn’t endorse it and rejected a proposed forward drafted by Army officials in his name. “He does not approve of its contents,” according to a military spokesman quoted in the story.

Earlier this year the Obama Administration changed the way federal agents are trained to combat terrorism and violent extremism by eliminating all materials that shed a negative light on Muslims. Under White House orders, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) destroyed instructional material that characterizes Muslims as prone to violence or terrorism in a government-wide call to end Islamophobia.

Under Obama practically every major federal agency has been ordered to participate in Muslim outreach initiatives, including the Justice Department with a special program to protect Islamic civil rights, Homeland Security meetings with extremist Muslim organizations and the nation’s space agency (NASA) with an unprecedented mission to focus on Muslim diplomacy.

Additionally, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton signed a special order to allow the reentry of two radical Islamic academics whose terrorist ties long banned them from the U.S. and the administration sent an America-bashing mosque leader (Feisal Abdul Rauf) who blames U.S. foreign policy for the 9/11 attacks on a Middle Eastern outreach mission. The Obama Administration even ordered a government-funded meal program for home-bound seniors to offer halal cuisine prepared according to Islamic law.

Wild Thing's comment..................

Obama's Muslim friends are insulted so he orders more Political Correctness in the war.

At least U.S. Marine General John Allen realizes when at war we kill the enemy with weapons and not kindness.

Michigan Legislature Passes “Right-to-Work” Legislation; Conservative Steven Crowder Gets Punched by Pro-Union Activists

Michigan Legislature Passes “Right-to-Work” Legislation; Conservative Steven Crowder Gets Punched by Pro-Union Activists.....

Here is raw video of conservative comedian Steven Crowder being punched in the face in Michigan by pro-union activists as he protested in favor of the “Right-to-Work” legislation that was passed today by the Michigan Legislature. Faced with the likelihood of defeat, and with Crowder asking them why they were so against giving more choice to Michigan workers, Crowder was punched in the face even as a tent set up for “Right-to-Work” supporters was knocked down:

WASHINGTON POST: The Michigan Legislature gave final approval Tuesday to a bitterly contested right-to-work plan limiting the power of unions, a devastating and once unthinkable defeat for organized labor in a state considered a cradle of the movement.

Unswayed by Democrats’ pleas and thousands of protesters inside and outside the state Capitol, the House approved two final bills, sending them on to Republican Gov. Rick Snyder. One dealt with private sector workers, the other with government employees. Both measures cleared the Senate last week.

Snyder is expected to sign the measures into law as early as Wednesday that would make Michigan the 24th state with right-to-work laws, which ban requirements that nonunion employees pay unions for negotiating contracts and other services.

.

Crowder on Fox News Hannity tonight responds to the person who punched him:

“I am issuing an ultimatum right now. They are trying to find this man who assaulted me, find this man who assaulted other people. And you have a choice, you can come forward, I’ll press charges, you’ll go to jail. Or since you wanted to cheap shot me, we can host a bout in a sanctioned, legalized MMA competition, where the winner will get the money to go to the charity of his choice. So all of this money that’s been raised to have this man prosecuted and put in jail, I will match that and donate it to the union of his choice.”

Hannity asked Crowder why he didn’t fight back while he was being attacked. Crowder said he knew it would prove nothing and he truly believes that if he had defended himself, “they would’ve killed me where I stood.”

North Korea Launches Second Long-Range Missile

North Korea Launches Second Long-Range Missile

North Korean regime launched its second long-range missile tonight. The North said it was sending a satellite into space.

Communist North Korea has successfully fired a long-range rocket tonight, with the rocket reportedly passing over Okinawa and landing in the sea about 300 km from the Philippines. South Korea has confirmed the firing of the rocket. It comes about a year after Kim Jong-Un took power in North Korea following the death of his father, Kim Jong-Il.

Isolated and impoverished North Korea launched its second long- range rocket of 2012 on Wednesday in what it said was a bid to put a satellite into space.

The North launched the rocket close to the first anniversary of the death of former leader Kim Jong-il and as elections loom in South Korea and Japan.

The launch, reported by South Korean media, was confirmed by South Korea’s Defense Ministry.

Pyongyang says it is entitled to launch a satellite into space but critics say the rocket development is aimed at nurturing the kind of technology needed to mount a nuclear warhead on a long-range missile.

North Korea is banned from conducting missile and nuclear-related tests under U.N. sanctions imposed after its 2006 and 2009 nuclear tests.

Reports indicate 60 shots were fired, and as many as three people, including the gunman, have been killed (this video report says one killed), with another person wounded. The gunman reportedly used an AR-15 rifle and wore body armor, wearing a white mask.

USA TODAY: Police say the man who opened fire in a suburban Portland shopping mall apparently killed himself after fatally shooting two people and wounding a third.

Clackamas County sheriff’s Lt. James Rhodes says law enforcement who flooded the Clackamas Town Center in response to the afternoon shooting didn’t fire any shots.

Witnesses described a scene of chaos and disbelief as a gunman wearing some sort of camouflage outfit and a white mask shot an initial burst of fire and then more rounds at Clackamas Town Center. Shoppers tried to find safe areas as teams of police officers began entering the mall to find the shooter.

Authorities were going store-to-store to secure the scene and to escort hiding shoppers outside, but Rhodes said there was no indication that there was more than one shooter.

Austin Patty, 20, who works at Macy’s, said he saw a man in a white mask carrying a rifle and wearing a bulletproof vest.

He heard the gunman say “I am the shooter,” as if announcing himself, Patty said. He then fired several shots paced seconds apart. .

Sen. Thune: Obama has ‘obsession with raising taxes’

Republican South Dakota Sen. John Thune said President Obama seems to have an “obsession with raising taxes” as part of a deficit reduction deal between the White House and congressional leaders to avoid going over the fiscal cliff.

Thune, a member of the Senate Budget Committee, added that such a policy would only raise enough revenue to fund “about a week” of government spending.

Wild Thing's comment.......................

Thune is right, Obama is obsessed with raising taxes and he is also obsessed with how he hates the rich and also his being a total racist.

Another Obamacare FEE Per Person....You Will Pay for Others Pre-existing Conditions

Most Americans will likely face a $63-per-head Obamacare fee in 2014 to pay for those with pre-existing conditions. Under Obama’s plan insurance companies will be unable to turn away individuals with pre-existing conditions starting in 2014.

The Washington Times

Your medical plan is facing an unexpected expense, so you probably are, too. It’s a new, $63-per-head fee to cushion the cost of covering people with pre-existing conditions under President Obama’s health care overhaul.

The charge, buried in a recent regulation, works out to tens of millions of dollars for the largest companies, employers say. Most of that is likely to be passed on to workers.

Employee benefits lawyer Chantel Sheaks calls it a “sleeper issue” with significant financial consequences, particularly for large employers.

“Especially at a time when we are facing economic uncertainty, [companies will] be hit with a multimillion-dollar assessment without getting anything back for it,” said Mr. Sheaks, a principal at Buck Consultants, a Xerox subsidiary.

Based on figures provided in the regulation, employer and individual health plans covering an estimated 190 million Americans could owe the per-person fee.

The Obama administration says it is a temporary assessment levied for three years starting in 2014, designed to raise $25 billion. It starts at $63 and then declines.

Most of the money will go into a fund administered by the Health and Human Services Department. It will be used to cushion health insurance companies from the initial hard-to-predict costs of covering uninsured people with medical problems. Under the law, insurers will be forbidden from turning away the sick as of Jan. 1, 2014.

Wild Thing's comment.................

One of the many fees we will have to pay apparently.

Obama-Backer Jamie Foxx: It’s “Great” To “Kill All The White People”

Actor Jamie Foxx thinks it’s “great” that he got the chance to “kill all the white people” in his new movie, “Django Unchained.”

Foxx was the featured guest on NBC‘s “Saturday Night Live” this week, and his opening monologue was based almost entirely on race.

He referenced his movie, in which he plays a slave, something he considered “whack.” But he told the SNL audience not to worry because he gets free and kills “all the white people in the movie.” He then took his jokes to a whole new and disturbing level when he asked, “How great is that?” The audience laughed and clapped.

This distasteful remark was part of a larger sequence of jokes about how “black is the new white.”

Chinese Group Buys 80% of AIG Plane Unit for $4.2 Billion

Bloomberg....Click LINK for complete article....thank you.

A Chinese group agreed to buy 80.1 percent of American International Group Inc. (AIG)’s plane-leasing unit for $4.23 billion in the nation’s largest acquisition of a U.S. company.

The International Lease Finance Corp. acquirers, led by New China Trust Co. Chairman Weng Xianding, have an option to buy another 9.9 percent, New York-based AIG said today in a statement. The transaction, which values ILFC at $5.3 billion, passes China Investment Corp.’s $3 billion purchase of a stake in Blackstone Group LP (BX) in 2007 as the biggest Chinese-U.S. deal.

The acquisition gives the group control of the world’s second-largest aircraft lessor as rising travel in China and Asia spurs demand for planes. AIG, which counts the U.S. government as its largest investor, is selling the Los Angeles- based unit as Chief Executive Officer Robert Benmosche focuses on insurance operations and works to reduce debt.

“This ILFC deal squarely places the leasing business where future growth will be,” said Will Horton, a Hong Kong-based analyst at CAPA Centre for Aviation. “There are large opportunities in China, but also in countries like Indonesia and Malaysia.”

China and Indonesia will account for about 40 percent of all aircraft deliveries through 2026, with the two countries taking more than 500 planes each, he said.

ObamaCare taxes poised to hit next month

ObamaCare taxes poised to hit next month … Obama sneaks tax hikes in to hit post election

FOX News

Even if lawmakers somehow stop the Bush-era tax rates from expiring, taxes are still expected to rise on Jan. 1 -- thanks to a trio of new fees tied to the federal health care overhaul.

The IRS this past week published rules for some of the first major taxes meant to help pay for President Obama’s massive insurance coverage expansion. Together, they will raise investment and income taxes on top earners and impose a separate -- and controversial -- tax on medical devices.

The bundle of fees has been largely overlooked as lawmakers and the White House bicker over the Bush tax rates, with Republicans demanding they be extended for everyone and Obama insisting rates rise for top earners. But that same group of earners is already in the crosshairs under the ObamaCare tax rules published this week.

Starting Jan. 1, investment income for individuals earning over $200,000 and households earning over $250,000 will be subject to a new 3.8 percent tax. Further, regular income above those thresholds will be hit with a .9 percent Medicare surtax. Should the Bush tax rates expire for those workers, those increases will be compounded.

But the rather obscure medical device tax is the one that has stirred the most controversy in Washington and the business community. This week, groups and lawmakers renewed their calls to repeal it as the IRS published its final rules.

“This week, the Internal Revenue Service outlined which medical supplies and technologies will be subject to a tax. Now, everything from latex gloves to pacemakers will become more expensive and in some cases, more scarce,” Rep. Tom Price, R-Ga., said in a statement. “The tax on medical devices harms America’s ability to conduct the necessary research and development to maintain our global competitiveness, resulting in the loss of tens of thousands of jobs and fewer groundbreaking innovations in this field. With millions of Americans unemployed, this simply makes no sense.”

The Affordable Care Act imposed the 2.3 percent tax on medical devices with the goal of raising nearly $30 billion over the next decade.

Equipment makers, though, argue that the tax ends up being much higher than that since it’s on gross sales. One industry spokesman estimated earlier this year that the impact on actual earnings is more like 15 percent.

Already, some have warned that the tax will stifle growth. Indiana-based Cook Medical earlier this year announced it was scrapping plans to open five new plants because of the tax.

The Republican-controlled House voted over the summer to repeal the tax, but the Senate never took it up.

The administration, though, has defended the provision. According to the Treasury Department, the medical device companies actually stand to benefit from the law. Though the 2.3 percent tax hits the industry, the department argues that the millions of new health care customers insured as a result of the law will increase the demand in hospitals to order more equipment -- in turn boosting medical device companies' profits.

That’s not how the industry sees it. Stephen J. Ubl, president of the Advanced Medical Technology Association, said this week in response to the IRS rules that the tax could cost thousands of jobs – and is already causing companies to lay off workers and cut back on research and development.

“While Washington talks about a fiscal cliff, this tax could push us off an innovation cliff, costing as many as 43,000 jobs and hurting the ability of medical technology companies to find tomorrow’s treatments and cures. It should be repealed,” he said.

It’s unclear whether any of the ObamaCare taxes could be reduced or delayed as part of a deal to avert the looming fiscal crisis. So far, negotiations have centered on the Bush tax rates, overall tax reform and entitlement cuts.

The House Republican counter-offer unveiled this past week did not mention the health care taxes.

Meanwhile, the health insurance industry is already raising alarm about an ObamaCare tax on health insurers taking effect in 2014. America’s Health Insurance Plans says that cost will be passed onto the consumer, leading to another $2,000 in premium costs over the next decade for the average individual purchaser.

Obama Agriculture Secretary: Rural America “Becoming Less And Less Relevant”-Obama voters must love this

Obama Agriculture Secretary: Rural America “Becoming Less And Less Relevant”

WASHINGTON (AP) — Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack has some harsh words for rural America: It’s “becoming less and less relevant,” he says.

A month after an election that Democrats won even as rural parts of the country voted overwhelmingly Republican, the former Democratic governor of Iowa told farm belt leaders this past week that he’s frustrated with their internecine squabbles and says they need to be more strategic in picking their political fights.

“It’s time for us to have an adult conversation with folks in rural America,” Vilsack said in a speech at a forum sponsored by the Farm Journal. “It’s time for a different thought process here, in my view.”

He said rural America’s biggest assets – the food supply, recreational areas and energy, for example – can be overlooked by people elsewhere as the U.S. population shifts more to cities, their suburbs and exurbs.

“Why is it that we don’t have a farm bill?” Vilsack said. “It isn’t just the differences of policy. It’s the fact that rural America with a shrinking population is becoming less and less relevant to the politics of this country, and we had better recognize that and we better begin to reverse it.”

Make Obama Pay For His Bullying Tactics

Make Obama Pay For His Bullying Tactics

by David Limbaugh

Human Events

Something is very wrong in the world when the most dogmatic and inflexible president in recent memory can make unreasonable demands of his GOP budget opponents and yet be confident they’ll be blamed for the impasse.

It is past time President Barack Obama be held accountable for his intentionally irresponsible fiscal policies that are guaranteed to take us into national bankruptcy. It is outrageous enough that he is steering us into insolvency, but it is unbearable that he’s fraudulently blaming the Republican Party for it to boot.

This is not a close call, and reasonable people, if they understood the facts, would not support Obama. The problem is that so many people who trust him, inexplicably, look no further than his disingenuous statements and the liberal media’s slanted reporting. Meanwhile the Republican Party leadership simply cannot seem to get its message across. It would help if they evidenced more faith in the wisdom of their own approach.

This isn’t complicated. Our financial problems are overwhelmingly a result of excess spending, not of insufficient tax revenues. Increasing rates or decreasing deductions won’t make a speck of difference, and Obama knows it.

Our $16 trillion national debt and our $100 trillion of unfunded liabilities are going to destroy this nation in relatively short order if we don’t take drastic remedial action.

Yet Obama’s plan is to increase taxes on the highest 2 percent of income earners while refusing to make significant reductions in discretionary spending or to restructure entitlements. His life’s ambition is to fundamentally transform the nation, which depends on keeping the federal spigot spewing and punishing the “wealthy.”

You could say it is crazy talk to suggest Obama doesn’t want to bring our fiscal house in order, but I say, based on the evidence, it’s much crazier to pretend he has any intention of balancing the budget.

To keep his shell game going, he has to divert the people’s attention away from spending, the real culprit, and toward blaming and demonizing the rich. Obama explains this misdirection with red herrings about a “balanced approach,” “loopholes” and “revenues.”

Obama is the one who won’t agree to a “balanced” approach; he’s ignoring spending and entitlements. When he calls tax increases “revenues,” he is implying that increasing rates and eliminating deductions for a small fraction of income earners is going to appreciably raise revenues and help solve our problem. It won’t. When he refers to legitimate tax deductions as “loopholes,” he is further defrauding the public into believing that these high-income earners are somehow cheating by availing themselves of deductions the law reasonably allows.

Speaker John Boehner must quit adopting that same misleading terminology and conceding, in effect, that the “wealthy” are undertaxed. He is not doing himself or the nation any good by playing into Obama’s hands and allowing him to control the language and the narrative.

Boehner needs to turn the tables on Obama and go into attack mode himself. There is no other way to deal with this destructive bully. Boehner must sprint to the national microphone and tell the American people that Obama is being unreasonable, reckless and uncompromising.

Obama is the one who won’t address the only problem that matters: spending. He won’t budge from his intolerable demands that Republicans raise rates on the “wealthy” in exchange for a vague promise of implementing spending “cuts” in the future, his insistence on spending more money on new programs today, his steadfast refusal to put entitlement reform on the table, and his demand that he be given unilateral authority to raise the budget ceiling at his whim.

Boehner must point out that Republicans have gone out of their way to compromise — way too far out of their way — by agreeing to eliminate deductions for the highest income earners to the tune of $800 billion, a figure Obama himself demanded not long ago. He should say he agreed to that not because he believes they’re paying too little (they are indeed already paying more than their fair share) or that it will increase revenues, but in a good faith effort to secure an agreement from Obama to greatly reduce spending and restructure entitlement programs.

The GOP majority did not get re-elected to roll over to Obama’s disastrous policies. They have a moral, legal and constitutional duty to resist Obama’s path of destruction with every fiber of their beings. At some point, their desire not to look mean must yield to their duty to inform the American people of the gravity of our situation and how reckless Obama is being.

Face it: Unless Republicans accede to all of Obama’s unreasonable demands and thus to the accelerated destruction of the country, there will be an impasse, because Obama will not yield, and Republicans will be blamed for it.

The only conceivable way Republicans can avoid this fate is if they quit playing his sinister game of negotiation chicken, call him out in plain terms on what he’s doing, and show he has never been and is not now serious about averting a national financial meltdown.

Apartment Complex Threatens Rent Hike For Obama Voters: ‘Help Pay For What You Asked For’

If you voted to re-elect Barack Obama as president, should your rent payments go up?

It appears possible at an apartment complex in Colorado Springs, Colo., where the manager of Casa Adobe Apartments sent a letter to residents making the threat.

According to KRDO-TV, the ABC affiliate in Colorado Springs, John Obringer recently sent out the letter that mainly focused on cutbacks on staff and maintenance issues.

The letter reportedly states:

“Due to the stupidity of the U.S. electorate, the Obama-administration’s continued assault on small business is resulting in increased taxes, regulations and mandates that are forcing the management company (B&J Enterprises, Inc.) for Casa Adobe Apartments to modify its operation to survive. This has resulted in layoffs, work-time reductions and decreased pay for workers. Consequently, the business hours are now Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Please plan accordingly … We are working hard to maintain the field, cleaning and maintenance personnel in place without raising rents, but that too is inevitable due to the upcoming inflation and market forces.”

Then he added, “BTW: If you voted ‘Democrat’ on Nov. 6, please notify me ASAP so I can raise your rent first to help pay for what you asked for.”

Obama Boy Charlie Crist becomes a Democrat - Fully Out Of Closet LOL

Charlie Crist becomes a Democrat

Washington Post

Former Florida governor Charlie Crist said late Friday night that he is now a Democrat.

The Republican governor-turned independent Senate candidate’s move was widely anticipated, especially in advance of a potential 2014 run for his old office. Crist endorsed President Obama for reelection this year and has aligned with Democrats over the last two years.

Crist tweeted the news, complete with a picture of him holding his party registration form at the White House Christmas Party.

Crist was the frontrunner for the state’s open Senate seat in 2010, before his (literal) embrace of Obama and his stimulus package gave now-Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) the upper hand in the primary. Crist switched to running as an independent but lost a three-way race that included then-Rep. Kendrick Meek (D-Fla.).

Republican Gov. Rick Scott is considered vulnerable in 2014, despite recovering somewhat after a rough first year in office.

A September Mason-Dixon poll showed Crist at 44 percent and Scott at 42 percent. Scott’s 2010 opponent, former state chief financial officer Alex Sink (D), ran slightly better than Crist in the poll, leading Scott by eight points.

Long Beach Students Assigned To Depict White House, Obama Under Water

LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — A group of parents at Rancho Dominguez Prep School in Long Beach are asking for a long-term substitute teacher to be removed from the classroom after he told students to create images of the White House under water.

Junior Carnal Washington said his Digital Imaging instructor told him it wasn’t enough to just submerge the White House, but somebody had to drown in their creations.

“My (project) was the president being saved instead of drowning him… so I drowned his wife and the dog,” he said. “I felt bad. It didn’t feel right drowning the president.”

Washington and a classmate said the student who got the most praise from the teacher took the Photoshop assignment a step further.

“The highest grade in the class was a girl who had Obama swimming toward a bucket of chicken instead of his family. I thought that was sad, but when (the teacher) saw it, he started laughing,” Washington said.

The Los Angeles Unified School District said the assignment was related to Hurricane Sandy, but students and parents said it just made them uncomfortable.

Parent Mouine Taylor said, “I see no reason that our president should ever be drowned. I see no reason why the White House should ever be drowned. What did the kids get from this project?”

“I think this whole assignment is uncalled for. First of all, why are you putting the White House under water?” said parent Sandra Hermosillo.

LAUSD officials told KCAL9’s Kristine Lazar that they would not confirm if any disciplinary action had been taken against the teacher.

Racist Michelle Obama tops poll for IL Senate seat in 2016

Could First Lady Michelle Obama go the route of Hillary Clinton?

NBC Chicago

It’s only hypothetical this point, but a survey done by Public Policy Polling gives Mrs. Obama the lead over Sen. Mark Kirk 51 to 40 percent, should she choose to challenge Kirk in 2016 for an Illinois senate seat.

If Michelle Obama decided she wanted to follow the Hillary Clinton route once her husband leaves office in 2016 and go to the Senate, she'd have the upper hand on Mark Kirk. She leads him 51/40 in a hypothetical head to head. Kirk's approval numbers are ok with 34% of voters approving of him to 19% who disapprove. But those numbers are no match for the first lady, who's seen positively by 60% of voters to 33% with a negative one.

First Lady Michelle Obama has never indicated any interest in seeking political office.

Still, she’s viewed positively by 6 in 10 voters in Illinois.

Kirk, who has been sidelined from Capitol Hill for nearly a year since suffering a debilitating stroke, has a 34 percent approval and 19 percent disapproval rating.

Wild Thing's comment...................

Wouldn't that be awesome to see her in the Senate and what she can do to keep the destruction of our country happening......NOT!

U.S. Taxpayers Shelled Out $115,500 For Malia Obama’s Spring Break Vacation

U.S. Taxpayers Shelled Out $115,500 For Malia Obama’s Spring Break Vacation

(Washington, DC) –

Judicial Watch today released records detailing the government funds expended on First Daughter Malia Obama’s March 2012 Spring Break vacation to Mexico. According to the records, obtained from the U.S. Secret Service as a result of a Judicial Watch Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit filed on September 20, 2012, the total cost of the trip amounted to $115,500.87.

The following is a breakdown of the costs as detailed in the documents:

Ground transportation: $23,964.81

Lodging: $21,682.92

Airfare: $47,767.34

“Vouchers”: $21,636.14 (not itemized)

Support Charges: $449.66 (travel for one from Mexico City to Oaxaca, not itemize)

Malia Obama’s spring break trip evoked controversy after the Obama White House reportedly ordered the removal of press reports detailing the trip. On March 19,2012, numerous online press outlets reported that the president’s 13-year-old daughter, Malia Obama, was on a Spring Break trip to Mexico accompanied by 25 U.S. Secret Service Agents and as many as 12 of her friends. However, shortly after the press reports surfaced they were quickly removed from the Internet. The trip took place shortly after the Texas Department of Public Safety issued a statement advising students on Spring Break “to avoid Mexico.”

White House Admits Obama’s Fiscal Cliff Plan Can’t Pass Dem-Controlled Senate

National Journal

The White House on Thursday dismissed as political mischief Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s offer to bring President Obama’s fiscal cliff plan to a vote on the floor, conceding the proposal would not receive the 60 votes needed to overcome a filibuster.

“We don’t have 60 votes in the Senate,” White House press secretary Jay Carney said, adding the White House was “very confident” that Democrats support the principles outlined in Obama’s plan, which has met with derision among Republicans.

Carney called McConnell’s Wednesday challenge “the kind of political games that aren’t serious.”

The Senate this summer passed the Democrats’ bill allowing rates to rise on households above $250,000, but only because Republicans agreed to a straight majority vote.

Carney also said the White House had concluded that Obama could not invoke the 14th Amendment, which some Democrats argued during last year’s debt-ceiling fight could permit the president to circumvent Congress and borrow past the statutorily imposed limit, to avert default.

Obama - I am the Law

Obama - I am the Law

FOX News

"The president is not going to negotiate with himself," White House spokesman Dan Pfeiffer insisted last week. As Tom Friedman, the New York Times' Maestro of Mixed Metaphors, might put it, it's hardball time, the clock is ticking, and the GOP had better come to the table before we go over the fiscal cliff.

The good news for the Republicans is that President Obama is probably overinterpreting his "mandate." The bad news is, as Obama has shown over the last four years, he's willing to work his will unilaterally and has nearly unprecedented powers to do so. Never mind "negotiating with himself"; increasingly, this president won't even negotiate with Congress.

"We can't wait for an increasingly dysfunctional Congress to do its job," Obama announced late last year. By "do its job" he actually meant "agree with the president and pass laws authorizing him to act." He let loose with a flurry of executive orders -- special breaks for debt-addled students and homeowners, and unilateral revision of immigration laws and welfare work requirements -- all via royal dispensation.

Income tax will exceed 50% in California, Hawaii, and New York City ~ You Can Thank Liberals

Dennis Miller sounds off on higher taxes, royal baby madness and unicorns in North Korea.

.

If U.S. hikes taxes, high-income Californians might pay almost 52 percent

Gerald Prante, an economics professor at Lynchburg College in Virginia, and Austin John, a Lynchburg economics student, calculated marginal tax rates — the highest rates on the highest levels of income — for all 50 states. They combined state, federal and, where applicable, local income taxes, plus payroll taxes for Social Security and Medicare and included the deductibility of some taxes.

Proposition 30 added three percentage points to the marginal state income tax rate for California’s highest-income taxpayers, bringing it to 13.3 percent. That action raised California over other high-tax jurisdictions to a marginal rate of 51.9 percent, slightly higher than New York City’s level. Hawaii was the only other place with a calculated rate above 50 percent.

Any move to raise taxes on the rich — defined as households making over $250,000 annually — strikes directly at the economies of these states, which depend heavily on the earnings of high-income professionals, entrepreneurs and technical workers. In fact, when you examine which states, and metropolitan areas, have the highest concentrations of such people, it turns out they are overwhelmingly located in the bluest states and regions.

The people whose wallets will be drained in the new war on “the rich” are high-earning, but hardly plutocratic professionals like engineers, doctors, lawyers, small business owners and the like. …

What would a big tax increase on the “rich” mean to the poor and working classes in these areas? To be sure, they may gain via taxpayer-funded transfer payments, but it’s doubtful that higher taxes will make their prospects for escaping poverty much brighter. For the most part, the economies of the key blue regions are very dependent on the earnings of the mass affluent class, and their spending is critical to overall growth. Singling out the affluent may also reduce the discretionary spending that drives employment in the personal services sector, retail and in such key fields as construction.

Racist Louis Farrakhan: Santa Claus Is A Damaging Lie That Teaches Kids “To Look To White People”

Farrakhan: Santa Claus Is A Damaging Lie That Teaches Kids “To Look To White People”…

The Blaze

On Tuesday morning, the Minister Louis Farrakhan delivered a sermon in front of the U.S. Virgin Islands Legislature in St. Thomas.

Farrakhan, who is currently on a tour throughout the Caribbean, had a plethora of messages for his audience. The Nation of Islam leader, who fluctuated between speaking in his own voice and mimicking an Island accent, warned those in attendance about the dangers of lying to their children about Santa Claus, while also taking aim at the supposed “evils” of the traditional Christmas tree.

In addition to claiming that kids end up loving Christmas’ most revered character more than they do their own parents, he also proclaimed that teaching belief in Santa causes children “to look to white people for what mommy couldn’t give them.”

“It’s Christmas now. Oh Christmas is coming, you know,” Farrakhan said. “He’s comin’ down the chimney with his big fat self and he gonna leave…Santa comin’ and he’s gonna leave under a tree gifts for your child and your child wake up the next morning ‘Oh! Santa was here last night?!

Hillary Clinton Presented With Tribute Video Featuring World Leaders

The Saban Forum 2012 (which focuses on Middle East issues as related to U.S. foreign policy) kicked off with a keynote speech by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Clinton's remarks were immediately preceded by a tribute video to her career in service of the United States.

President Barack Obama, Senator John McCain, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, Henry Kissinger, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and others are featured offering praise for Secretary Clinton's life, career, and good works.

"From someone who knows a thing or two about political comebacks, I can tell you I don't think we've heard the last of Hillary Clinton," Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says of Clinton in the tribute.

"I just have an instinct that the best is yet to come," Tony Blair says.

Just my feeling, but if Hillary does run for President she will win.

Obama stole the election from her in 2008 with voter fraud. Then Obama stole the election in part from Romney in 2012 with more voter fraud then we have ever seen before in any election.

I hope I am wrong, and like I said it is just a feeling.

IRS Issues 159 Pages of New Rules About Obama's Socialized Medicine (Obamacare)

(Reuters) - The Internal Revenue Service has released new rules for investment income taxes on capital gains and dividends earned by high-income individuals that passed Congress as part of the 2010 healthcare reform law.

The 3.8 percent surtax on investment income, meant to help pay for healthcare, goes into effect in 2013. It is the first surtax to be applied to capital gains and dividend income.

The tax affects only individuals with more than $200,000 in modified adjusted gross income (MAGI), and married couples filing jointly with more than $250,000 of MAGI.

The tax applies to a broad range of investment securities ranging from stocks and bonds to commodity securities and specialized derivatives.

The 159 pages of rules spell out when the tax applies to trusts and annuities, as well as to individual securities traders.

Released late on Friday, the new regulations include a 0.9 percent healthcare tax on wages for high-income individuals.

Both sets of rules will be published on Wednesday in the Federal Register.

The proposed rules are effective starting January 1. Before making the rules final, the IRS will take public comments and hold hearings in April.

Together, the two taxes are estimated to raise $317.7 billion over 10 years, according to a Joint Committee on Taxation analysis released in June.

To illustrate when the tax applies, the IRS offered an example of a taxpayer filing as a single individual who makes $180,000 in wage income plus $90,000 from investment income. The individual's modified adjusted gross income is $270,000.

The 3.8 percent tax applies to the $70,000, and the individual would pay $2,660 in surtaxes, the IRS said.

The IRS plans to release a new form for taxpayers to fill out for this tax when filing 2013 returns.

The new rules leave some questions unanswered, tax experts said. It was unclear how rental income will be treated under the new rules, said Michael Grace, managing director at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP law firm in Washington.

"The proposed regulations surely will increase tax compliance burdens for individuals," said Grace, a former IRS official. "There's clearly some drafting left to be done."

Poll: Obama Voters Love Socialism Just Like Obama

Poll: Obama Voters Love Socialism

By Conn Carroll

According to a December 2011 Pew Foundation study, while 60 percent of Americans view socialism negatively, a plurality of Americans ages 18 to 29 (49 percent to 43 percent) and a majority of African-Americans (55 percent to 36 percent) view socialism positively. Conversely, while a majority of Americans view capitalism positively (50 percent), again a plurality of Americans ages 18-29 (47 percent) and a majority of African-Americans (51 percent) view it negatively.

Only one other demographic in America views socialism as positively as the young and African-Americans: liberal Democrats. While 90 percent of liberal Republicans and even 51 percent of moderate Democrats oppose socialism, 59 percent of liberal Democrats view socialism positively.

This is Obama’s base: liberal Democrats, the young and African-Americans. They are the voters that turned out in record numbers to save Obama’s second term. They are the source of his mandate. And they want socialism!

DICTATOR Obama Slaps States That Don't Comply With Obamacare With Insurance Fine

DICTATOR Obama Slaps States That Don't Comply With Obamacare With Insurance Fine

Newsmax

Residents of states that refuse to set up health insurance exchanges under Obamacare are set to be hit with higher premiums under new rules announced by the Health and Human Services Department.

Insurance companies will be charged 3.5 percent of any premiums they sell through the federal exchanges, the department announced Friday.

And insurers are likely to pass that surcharge on to clients, leaading to higher premiums.

The only states to be affected are those that refuse to set up their own exchanges because of opposition to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. They are almost certain to be those under Republican control. In those states, HHS will set up the exchanges

GOP governors are taking a hard line against implementing any part of the healthcare law, which will mean insurers in their states will need to pay the monthly fee, The Hill reports.

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer announced this week that her state will not set up an exchange, calling the proposal "too expensive and too risky." Her decision brings the total of states refusing to comply with the act's provisions up to 17.

The exchanges were supposed to be up and running in all states by 2014. HHS plans to charge insurers 3.5 percent of the premiums for each plan they sell through the federal exchange.

There are still some states that haven’t yet decided whether to set up their own exchanges or use the federal exchange option, so it’s not yet known how much money the HHS will collect from insurance companies. In addition, HHS said it might change the user fees later on as more people enroll through the exchanges.

But exchanges that don’t attract enough insurers may make the companies carry larger percentages of unhealthy and thus expensive, patients, making them appeal even less to customers.

“It is important to keep in mind that any new fees to pay for the administration of exchanges will add to the cost of coverage, and that is why the focus needs to be on reducing administrative costs, streamlining operations, and avoiding regulatory duplication that will add complexity and increase costs," America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) said in a statement on the new rules.

The regulations also show how the government plans to redistribute money to help insurers with expensive clients stay afloat, as Obamacare provides fees to help companies offset the costs of taking on numerous unhealthy patients. The Obama administration says the process is designed to make sure one insurance company doesn’t get stuck with an unhealthy risk pool.

Hillary Clinton Must Be A Racist, Prefers John Kerry Over Susan Rice To Take Over State Department

Hillary Clinton Must Be A Racist, Prefers John Kerry Over Susan Rice To Take Over State Department

Chicago Sun Times

The big question: Who would Secretary of State Hillary Clinton like to get her job?

It ain’t embattled U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice, who is dealing with the way she handled the terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya, that led to the killing of U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans.

Sneed is told if Hillary had to choose between Rice and U.S. Sen. John Kerry, who is head of the Senate’s Foreign Relations Committee, she would prefer Kerry.

“Hillary is not close to Rice, who is tough — but is not the friendliest person,” said a top White House source. “And Hillary’s brief comment recently that Rice had done ‘a great job’ was considered underwhelming and tepid,” the source added.

“It would be hard for President Obama to back away from Rice, but he’s dealing with what’s known as “the Club of the Senate,” which includes powerful U.S. Sen. John McCain — a Republican — who is adamantly against Rice and a big supporter of Kerry’s.

U.S.-Afghan Base in Eastern Afghanistan Attacked By Taliban Suicide Bombers

U.S.-Afghan Base in Eastern Afghanistan Attacked By Taliban Suicide Bombers

USA Today

December 2. 2012 – KABUL, Afghanistan (AP)

Taliban suicide bombers assaulted a joint U.S.-Afghan air base in eastern Afghanistan early Sunday, detonating explosives at the gate and sparking a gunbattle that lasted at least two hours with American helicopters firing down at militants before the attackers were defeated.

Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid said the attackers detonated a car bomb at the entrance of Jalalabad air base before storming it. A spokesman for the Afghan Defense Ministry, Gen. Mohammad Zahir Azimi, confirmed that car bombs were used at the gate but said none of the militants were able to enter. The NATO military coalition also described it as a failed attack.

We can confirm insurgents, including multiple suicide bombers, attacked Jalalabad Airfield this morning. None of the attackers succeeded in breaching the perimeter," Lt. Col. Hagen Messer, a spokesman for the international military coalition, said in an email. He said that the fighting had ended by midmorning and that reports showed one member of the Afghan security forces was killed. Several foreign troops were wounded, but Messer did not give any numbers or details.

"The final assessment of what happened this morning is not yet complete, but initial reports indicate there were three suicide bombers," Messer said.

Provincial police said there were at least four attackers in two vehicles. The first vehicle, a four-wheel-drive car, blew up at the gate of the base, said Hazrat Hussain Mashreqiwal, a spokesman for the provincial police chief. Guards started shooting at the second vehicle he added, before it too exploded. It was unclear if the explosives were detonated by the attackers themselves or by shooting from the guards, he said.

Pelosi: Give Obama Unlimited Power to Lift Debt Limit to Infinity

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi wants Barack Obama to have the ability to raise the debt limit to infinity.
She goes by the Constitution. She’s a Constitutional expert.

CNS News reported:

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said on Friday that Congress should hand over to President Barack Obama the power to unilateral increase the limit on the U.S. government’s debt.

In effect, under the plan Pelosi is endorsing, the only limit on the national debt would be President Obama’s willingness to borrow money in the name of American taxpayers.

At a Friday press conference, a reporter asked Pelosi if she agreed with a proposal made by Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner that Congress give Obama the power to unilaterally increase the debt limit.

“Yes,” she said.

Because Of Obama, Americans Rocked By Another Round of Obama Reelection Layoffs

Body armor manufacturer in Eden to lay off 280 employees

November 29, 2012, by Scott Gustin, MyFox8.com

EDEN, N.C. — KDH Defense Systems in Eden will lay off up to 280 employees in January.

President & CEO Dave Herbener said employees were sent a notice warning of the layoffs.

Herbener said most of the positions affected are in the production and administrative departments.

When asked if the company was doing well in business, Herbener said “the company is healthy.” However, two military contacts will soon be ending, leaving a gap in production for the first part of next year.

Herbener said their law enforcement contracts are growing and if more “opportunities become available,” those same employees could be called back to work. However, at this point it’s “not likely.”

Depending on the year of employment, Herbener said some would receive bonuses and severance pay.

Economic Development Director for the town of Eden, Michael Doughertry, was notified of the job cuts Wednesday and said this is not the first set of layoffs for the company.

“They told me they’re very saddened this has had to happen right now but one contract ends in mid December one ends in mid January,” Dougherty said.

“It’s just a horrible time of the year, and we will have a rapid response team out there to help the employees with unemployment or to find other jobs to fill the gap until they get their call back which we hope will happen soon.”

Hundreds of SBB&T Employees Being Laid Off

Up to 600 bank employees between Ventura and San Jose could lose their jobs.

KEYT.COM - UPDATE - KEY News has learned as many as 600 Santa Barbara Bank & Trust employees working at branches from Ventura to San Jose will lose their jobs. Three hundred fifty of those workers are from the Santa Barbara area.

The layoffs are part of the consolidation between SBB&T and Union Bank.

An official with Santa Barbara Bank and Trust confirmed to KEY News Thursday morning that employee staff notifications are underway.

KEY News has learned that the notifications started going out Wednesday.

"I think most people were expecting the worst but had hope that this wasn't going to be the case because there was not clear communication, no heads up of what your employment status would be. I think a lot of people went in with optimism and definitely were shut down," said an anonymous employee.

When asked if those notifications include any layoffs, Santa Barbara Bank and Trust Spokeswoman Debbie Whiteley declined to comment, but did say she'd have more information Friday.

However, bank employees have been calling KEY News all morning to say they are being laid off. One employee who only wanted to be identified as a "soon to be former" employee of Santa Barbara Bank & Trust said the "meetings" that were held on Wednesday and those being held throughout the day on Thursday are meant to notify employees that their jobs are being eliminated.

Employees who were called to the morning meetings at Campus Pointe and downtown are being told the layoffs are effective in 60 days. They still must show up for work until then. Employees who were called to the afternoon meetings are being informed that their jobs are being eliminated and they must work through March or April.

This employee said there were fewer people at the morning meetings, but the afternoon meetings were packed. They estimated as many as 70 employees were laid off yesterday with more to come today.

Another employee who wanted to remain anonymous told KEY News the employees were called into the meetings in groups of 20 and given the bad news. Everyone we spoke with said the timing is terrible coming just weeks before Christmas.

Austerity program at San Diego Hospice brings layoffs

By Paul Sisson, North County Times

More than 180 San Diego Hospice employees received layoff notices Wednesday and Thursday, as the organization implements an austerity plan designed to keep it operating in the face of ongoing Medicare audits.

Chief Executive Kathleen Pacurar said Thursday that the cuts include temporarily shutting down San Diego Hospice’s most visible presence in the community, a 24-bed specialty hospital in Hillcrest.

The move is the result of Medicare temporarily shutting off reimbursement payments in early November, causing the hospice, one of the largest in the nation, to temporarily stop admitting patients.

Those Medicare payments have since resumed, removing doubts about the organization’s survival. But heightened federal scrutiny of its patient admittance practices continues, forcing the hospice to downsize.

Pacurar said that 95 percent of hospice services are delivered to patients in their homes, and that work will continue unabated.

“We’re able to make these changes and the patient, in their bed in their home, isn’t going to feel any of them,” Pacurar said.

A 12-bed inpatient center in Carlsbad, which the hospice leased from a private company, has been permanently closed.

About 180 employees associated with in-home services have already been laid off, Pacurar said, but hospital staff, who number about 80, were given a 30-day layoff notice this week. Patients who are still at the hospital on Dec. 31 will be moved to other hospitals or skilled nursing facilities.
