KT McFarland told FOX News: Hillary Clinton has blood on her hands

Former Reagan, Ford and Nixon White House and Pentagon official KT McFarland joined Happening Now to discuss the House Republican Benghazi Report that was released today.

The report today revealed the Obama White House was scheming their lie that the attack was linked to a YouTube video during the attack on the consulate and CIA annex.

McFarland told FOX News: Hillary Clinton has blood on her hands.

“Here’s what really bothers me. Is that not only did she lie before, during and after. But, while Americans were still under attack, while we had already lost two and we were going to lose more, what was she doing? Not planning a rescue mission – She was busy spinning! I mean that’s blood on your hands. How are you not having your first concern, the safety of American citizens?"

Josh Earnest says the Benghazi Committee was politically motivated, and was designed to drive down Hillary Clinton's poll numbers

EARNEST: "The fact is those congressional committees that have been committed to trying to understand the facts of a tragedy that led to the death of four Americans have concluded that what happened was a tragedy. But they've also concluded that the variety of conspiracy theories that have been flowering on the Republican side of the aisle are politically motivated fantasies. It's unfortunate that the death of four Americans would be subject to that kind of political fantasizing"

Obama Skipped Intel Briefing The Day After The Benghazi Attack

According to the upcoming report from the House Benghazi Committee, President Barack Obama skipped his personal daily intelligence briefing the day after the 2012 Benghazi attacks.

The revelation is buried in one of the appendices to the 800-page report released by the Republican-controlled committee Tuesday. According to the Executive Coordinator tasked with delivering the daily briefings, she first delivered the briefing to White House chief of staff Jack Lew. But instead of giving Obama a briefing, she gave the folder to a White House usher.

Select Committee on Benghazi Releases Proposed Report

Select Committee on Benghazi Releases Proposed Report

Washington, D.C. – Select Committee on Benghazi Chairman Trey Gowdy (SC-04) released the following statement after the committee’s Majority released a mark of its investigative report:

“Chris Stevens, Sean Smith, Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods were heroes who gave their lives in service to our country. Their bravery and the courageous actions of so many others on the ground that night should be honored.

“When the Select Committee was formed, I promised to conduct this investigation in a manner worthy of the American people’s respect, and worthy of the memory of those who died. That is exactly what my colleagues and I have done.

“Now, I simply ask the American people to read this report for themselves, look at the evidence we have collected, and reach their own conclusions. You can read this report in less time than our fellow citizens were taking fire and fighting for their lives on the rooftops and in the streets of Benghazi.”

The committee’s proposed report is just over 800 pages long and is comprised of five primary sections and 12 appendices. It details relevant events in 2011 and 2012.

The following facts are among the many new revelations in Part I:

Despite President Obama and Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta’s clear orders to deploy military assets, nothing was sent to Benghazi, and nothing was en route to Libya at the time the last two Americans were killed almost 8 hours after the attacks began. [pg. 141]

With Ambassador Stevens missing, the White House convened a roughly two-hour meeting at 7:30 PM, which resulted in action items focused on a YouTube video, and others containing the phrases “[i]f any deployment is made,” and “Libya must agree to any deployment,” and “[w]ill not deploy until order comes to go to either Tripoli or Benghazi.” [pg. 115]

The Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff typically would have participated in the White House meeting, but did not attend because he went home to host a dinner party for foreign dignitaries. [pg. 107]

A Fleet Antiterrorism Security Team (FAST) sat on a plane in Rota, Spain, for three hours, and changed in and out of their uniforms four times. [pg. 154]

None of the relevant military forces met their required deployment timelines. [pg. 150]

The Libyan forces that evacuated Americans from the CIA Annex to the Benghazi airport was not affiliated with any of the militias the CIA or State Department had developed a relationship with during the prior 18 months. Instead, it was comprised of former Qadhafi loyalists who the U.S. had helped remove from power during the Libyan revolution. [pg. 144]

Rep. Mike Pompeo (KS-04) released the following statement regarding these findings:

“We expect our government to make every effort to save the lives of Americans who serve in harm’s way. That did not happen in Benghazi. Politics were put ahead of the lives of Americans, and while the administration had made excuses and blamed the challenges posed by time and distance, the truth is that they did not try.”

Rep. Martha Roby (AL-02) released the following statement regarding these findings:

“Our committee’s insistence on additional information about the military’s response to the Benghazi attacks was met with strong opposition from the Defense Department, and now we know why. Instead of attempting to hide deficiencies in our posture and performance, it’s my hope our report will help ensure we fix what went wrong so that a tragedy like this never happens again.”

The following facts are among the many new revelations in Part II:

Five of the 10 action items from the 7:30 PM White House meeting referenced the video, but no direct link or solid evidence existed connecting the attacks in Benghazi and the video at the time the meeting took place. The State Department senior officials at the meeting had access to eyewitness accounts to the attack in real time. The Diplomatic Security Command Center was in direct contact with the Diplomatic Security Agents on the ground in Benghazi and sent out multiple updates about the situation, including a “Terrorism Event Notification.” The State Department Watch Center had also notified Jake Sullivan and Cheryl Mills that it had set up a direct telephone line to Tripoli. There was no mention of the video from the agents on the ground. Greg Hicks—one of the last people to talk to Chris Stevens before he died—said there was virtually no discussion about the video in Libya leading up to the attacks. [pg. 28]

The morning after the attacks, the National Security Council’s Deputy Spokesperson sent an email to nearly two dozen people from the White House, Defense Department, State Department, and intelligence community, stating: “Both the President and Secretary Clinton released statements this morning. … Please refer to those for any comments for the time being. To ensure we are all in sync on messaging for the rest of the day, Ben Rhodes will host a conference call for USG communicators on this chain at 9:15 ET today.” [pg. 39]

Minutes before the President delivered his speech in the Rose Garden, Jake Sullivan wrote in an email to Ben Rhodes and others: “There was not really much violence in Egypt. And we are not saying that the violence in Libya erupted ‘over inflammatory videos.’” [pg. 44]

According to Susan Rice, both Ben Rhodes and David Plouffe prepared her for her appearances on the Sunday morning talk shows following the attacks. Nobody from the FBI, Department of Defense, or CIA participated in her prep call. While Rhodes testified Plouffe would “normally” appear on the Sunday show prep calls, Rice testified she did not recall Plouffe being on prior calls and did not understand why he was on the call in this instance. [pg.98]

On the Sunday shows, Susan Rice stated the FBI had “already begun looking at all sorts of evidence” and “FBI has a lead in this investigation.” But on Monday, the Deputy Director, Office of Maghreb Affairs sent an email stating: “McDonough apparently told the SVTS [Secure Video Teleconference] group today that everyone was required to ‘shut their pieholes’ about the Benghazi attack in light of the FBI investigation, due to start tomorrow.” [pg. 135]

After Susan Rice’s Sunday show appearances, Jake Sullivan assured the Secretary of the State that Rice “wasn’t asked about whether we had any intel. But she did make clear our view that this started spontaneously and then evolved.” [pg. 128]

Susan Rice’s comments on the Sunday talk shows were met with shock and disbelief by State Department employees in Washington. The Senior Libya Desk Officer, Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs, State Department, wrote: “I think Rice was off the reservation on this one.” The Deputy Director, Office of Press and Public Diplomacy, Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs, State Department, responded: “Off the reservation on five networks!” The Senior Advisor for Strategic Communications, Bureau of Near East Affairs, State Department, wrote: “WH [White House] very worried about the politics. This was all their doing.” [pg. 132]

The CIA’s September 13, 2012, intelligence assessment was rife with errors. On the first page, there is a single mention of “the early stages of the protest” buried in one of the bullet points. The article cited to support the mention of a protest in this instance was actually from September 4. In other words, the analysts used an article from a full week before the attacks to support the premise that a protest had occurred just prior to the attack on September 11. [pg. 47]

A headline on the following page of the CIA’s September 13 intelligence assessment stated “Extremists Capitalized on Benghazi Protests,” but nothing in the actual text box supports that title. As it turns out, the title of the text box was supposed to be “Extremists Capitalized on Cairo Protests.” That small but vital difference—from Cairo to Benghazi—had major implications in how people in the administration were able to message the attacks. [pg. 52]

Rep. Jim Jordan (OH-04) released the following statement regarding these findings:

“Obama Administration officials, including the Secretary of State, learned almost in real time that the attack in Benghazi was a terrorist attack. Rather than tell the American people the truth, the administration told one story privately and a different story publicly.”

Rep. Peter Roskam (IL-06) released the following statement regarding these findings:

“In the days and weeks after the attacks, the White House worked to pin all of the blame for their misleading and incorrect statements on officials within the intelligence community, but in reality, political operatives like Ben Rhodes and David Plouffe were spinning the false narrative and prepping Susan Rice for her interviews.”

The following facts are among the many new revelations in Part III:

During deliberations within the State Department about whether and how to intervene in Libya in March 2011, Jake Sullivan listed the first goal as “avoid[ing] a failed state, particularly one in which al-Qaeda and other extremists might take safe haven.” [pg. 9]

The administration’s policy of no boots on the ground shaped the type of military assistance provided to State Department personnel in Libya. The Executive Secretariats for both the Defense Department and State Department exchanged communications outlining the diplomatic capacity in which the Defense Department SST security team members would serve, which included wearing civilian clothes so as not to offend the Libyans. [pg. 60]

When the State Department’s presence in Benghazi was extended in December 2012, senior officials from the Bureau of Diplomatic Security were excluded from the discussion. [pg. 74]

In February 2012, the lead Diplomatic Security Agent at Embassy Tripoli informed his counterpart in Benghazi that more DS agents would not be provided by decision makers, because “substantive reporting” was not Benghazi’s purpose. [pg. 77]

Emails indicate senior State Department officials, including Cheryl Mills, Jake Sullivan, and Huma Abedin were preparing for a trip by the Secretary of State to Libya in October 2012. According to testimony, Chris Stevens wanted to have a “deliverable” for the Secretary for her trip to Libya, and that “deliverable” would be making the Mission in Benghazi a permanent Consulate. [pg. 96]

In August 2012—roughly a month before the Benghazi attacks—security on the ground worsened significantly. Ambassador Stevens initially planned to travel to Benghazi in early August, but cancelled the trip “primarily for Ramadan/security reasons.” [pg. 99]

Former Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta bluntly told the committee “an intelligence failure” occurred with respect to Benghazi. Former CIA Deputy Director Michael Morell also acknowledged multiple times an intelligence failure did in fact occur prior to the Benghazi attacks. [pg. 129]

Rep. Susan Brooks (IN-05) released the following statement regarding these findings:

“President Obama has said his worst mistake was ‘failing to plan for the day after … intervening in Libya.’ As a result of this ‘lead from behind’ foreign policy, the Libyan people were forced to make the dismal trade of the tyranny of Qadhafi for the terror of ISIS, Al-Qaeda and others. Although the State Department considered Libya a grave risk to American diplomats in 2011 and 2012, our people remained in a largely unprotected, unofficial facility that one diplomatic security agent the committee interviewed characterized as ‘a suicide mission.’”

Rep. Lynn Westmoreland (GA-03) released the following statement regarding these findings:

“One of the most concerning parts of the State Department’s policy in Libya was its reliance upon the militias of an unstable nation to protect our men and women in Benghazi. These were by no means forces that could adequately protect Americans on the ground, and the State Department knew it. But the appearance of no boots on the ground was more important to the administration.”

Part IV of the report reveals new information about the Select Committee’s requests and subpoenas seeking documents and witnesses regarding Benghazi and Libya, and details what the Obama administration provided to Congress, what it is still withholding, and how its serial delays hindered the committee’s efforts to uncover the truth.

Part V proposes 25 recommendations for the Pentagon, State Department, Intelligence Community and Congress aimed at strengthening security for American personnel serving abroad and doing everything possible to ensure something like Benghazi never happens again, and if it does, that we are better prepared to respond, the majority make a series of recommendations.

The Select Committee intends to convene a bipartisan markup to discuss and vote on the proposed report on July 8, 2016. All members of the committee will have the opportunity to offer changes in a manner consistent with the rules of the House.

Obama's America Won't Seek Death Penalty Against Lead Benghazi Suspect

Obama's America Won't Seek Death Penalty Against Lead Benghazi Suspect

WASHINGTON (AP)The Justice Department will not seek the death penalty against Ahmed Abu Khattala, the suspected Libyan militant charged in the Benghazi attacks that killed a U.S. ambassador and three other Americans, federal officials announced Tuesday.

The department revealed its decision, which pushes the case forward toward trial, in a brief court filing that offered no additional explanation.

In a separate statement, spokeswoman Emily Pierce said Attorney General Loretta Lynch made the decision after reviewing the case and consulting with federal prosecutors. She said the department is “committed to ensuring that the defendant is held accountable” for the 2012 attacks.

Abu Khattala’s attorneys, who have challenged the strength of the government’s evidence, had implored the Justice Department to remove the death penalty as a possibility should he ultimately be convicted of any capital crimes at trial. With that punishment now off the table, he would face a maximum sentence of life in prison if found guilty.

Abu Khattala, captured by U.S. special forces in Libya two years ago and brought to the U.S. aboard a Navy ship, has been awaiting trial in federal court in Washington in connection with the September 2012 violence at a diplomatic compound in Benghazi. Prosecutors have described him as a ringleader of the attacks, which quickly emerged as a political flashpoint and became the topic of congressional hearings involving Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, secretary of state at the time of the rampage.

The 18-count indictment arises from a burst of violence that began the night of Sept. 11, 2012, at a State Department diplomatic compound, an attack prosecutors say was aimed at murdering American personnel and plundering maps, documents and other property from the post.

U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens was killed in the first attack at the U.S. mission, along with Sean Patrick Smith, a State Department information management officer. Nearly eight hours later at a CIA complex nearby, two more Americans, contract security officers Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty, died in a mortar attack.

Abu Khattala has pleaded not guilty to charges including murder of an internationally protected person, providing material support to terrorists and destroying U.S. property while causing death.

Assuming it doesn't resolve through a plea agreement, a trial of Abu Khattala would represent one of the most significant terrorism prosecutions in recent years and also an illustration of the Obama administration's commitment to prosecuting suspected militants captured overseas in U.S. civilian courts.

Since arriving in the United States, Abu Khattala has made multiple court appearances alongside his lawyers. He sought unsuccessfully to have the case against him dismissed last year, and a separate request for him to be returned to Libya was also denied.

The Justice Department's decision comes at a time of heightened scrutiny of death penalty protocols at the state and federal levels, although a federal jury in Boston last year sentenced Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev to death after prosecutors sought that punishment. He is being held at the Supermax federal prison in Colorado.

Executions in the federal system are exceedingly rare; the last federal defendant put to death was in 2003, according to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons.

The Justice Department has said it is reviewing the policies, though nothing has been publicly announced, and President Barack Obama has said he's "deeply concerned" about the death penalty's implementation.

Wild Thing's comment................

WTF then what the heck does it take for it to be a bad enough thing to use the death penalty. Freaking MUSLIM OBAMA.

Heroes matter: The real message of ‘13 Hours’

Heroes matter: The real message of ‘13 Hours’

With the just-released “13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi,” director Michael Bay has transcended himself with an emotionally wrenching but inspirational action movie that honors the brotherhood of warriors and American heroism.

The movie is based on the true story “13 Hours: The Inside Account of What Really Happened in Benghazi” by writer Mitchell Zuckoff and the security team present at the Islmaist attack in Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012.

That attack resulted in the deaths of four Americans, and the movie has been anticipated by conservatives as the film that will put the nail in the coffin of candidate Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, over her alleged inaction as secretary of state during the assault, and the subsequent coverup.

But like the book, the movie is apolitical. Hillary, mentioned barely at all in the book, is completely absent in the film. The focus is the firsthand experience of the warriors at the center of the storm — “when bullets flew, buildings burned and mortars rained,” as Zuckoff writes.

Brothers-in-arms Jack Silva, Tyrone Woods, D.B. Benton, Mark Geist, John Tiegen and Kris Paronto — all former Navy SEALS or Marines — had no direct knowledge of the politics that abandoned them to their fate; they knew only it was up to them to stave off enemy forces swarming the compound in which they, a handful of State Department civilians and Ambassador Chris Stevens — ultimately one of the four casualties — were holed up.

Bay told Fox News, “The politics got in the way of this great human story that happened, and this is really to honor these type of men that do this every day — that put themselves in harm’s way — that’s what this movie is about.”

He continued: “I’ve been friends with many, many SEALs . . . They’re very selfless, and this is a very tragic story. It avoids the politics.”

While it avoids an overt political statement, it nevertheless serves as a clear indictment of a political class that is often unappreciative of those selfless men of action.

That class is represented in the movie by the CIA station chief, a by-the-book bureaucrat dripping with contempt for the security team’s absence of diplomatic tact and lack of Ivy League credentials.

He is repulsed by their hyper-masculine physicality and ever-present weaponry. But when the outpost is overrun by Islamists who care nothing for diplomacy or an Ivy League education, the station chief is paralyzed by his inability to grasp the life-or-death nature of the emergency.

Tyrone Woods takes the wheel: “You’re in my world now.” That world is the arena of violence and action, not diplomacy and politics. It is an atavistic, uncivilized realm in which heroes thrive.

One is reminded of the familiar adage that people sleep peacefully in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf. The warriors in “13 Hours” were the rough men with guns in Benghazi.

But they are not mere action-flick caricatures. Director Bay effectively brings these men to life, drawing us into their personal lives as fathers and husbands eager to reunite with their families but compelled to stay in godforsaken hellholes, because that’s where heroes are needed.

Bay also captures the emotional toll it takes on those extraordinary men to fight from dusk to dawn, all the while only a bullet away from leaving their kids to be raised by another man, as Woods puts it.

These men accept that toll because they value service over self. They are the sheepdogs protecting their flock from the wolves.

In the movie, when Woods reminds his crew that they are not obligated to risk their lives by rushing in where angels fear to tread, not a man among them hesitates to commit. Heroism is the ultimate altruism.

By the end of the movie, the humbled CIA station chief confesses to Jack Silva, “I’m proud to know Americans like you.”

Wild Thing's comment..........

Excellent write up. I recommend this film highly.

'Secret soldiers' attest that God protected them during Benghazi siege: 'Like there was cocoon around you'

'Secret soldiers' attest that God protected them during Benghazi siege: 'Like there was cocoon around you'

The "secret soldiers" of Benghazi, Libya said God was with them, protecting them "like there was a cocoon around you," when they bravely fought off a large group of armed Islamic radicals who attacked a CIA outpost on Sept. 11, 2012.

The three CIA contractors spoke during a recent press conference for the just-released movie "13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi," a movie based on the true story of six CIA contractors who miraculously survived a massive attack by well-armed jihadists on the U.S. State Department's Mission Control Compound.

The three—Mark "Oz" Geist, John "Tig" Tiegen and Kris "Tanto" Paranto—said they owe their lives to no one else but God, the Gospel Herald reported.

Tanto is one of the six CIA contractors who defied orders to stand down and rushed to defend the American officials inside the besieged U.S. diplomatic outpost in Benghazi.

"That night when I was shooting, the scene where we got attacked at the consulate. I was out in the open. I'm shooting back, and they're 'snap snap' going. Ain't nothing touching me. I could feel it," Tanto told the Christian Post. "You could just feel a warm force-field. It's really a cocoon around you, like 'I'm good. Nobody's going to hit me.'"

The attack killed two of the contractors, Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty, and injured Paranto and Geist.

Tanto said they believe God placed them in that part of the world for a reason.

"We were all supposed to go home the week prior," Tanto said. "But, [then we] wouldn't have had that team there that we had that night."

Geist said he also believes God protected them that night, and that God is the reason they made it out to share the story with others.

"There were three 80 mm mortars, and they have a kill radius of 21 feet. So that basically means, anything within 21 feet has like a 99 percent chance of getting killed," he said. "I was within 15 feet of three of them, and I lived. I know that His presence was there with me, and it's what got me through."

Tanto thanked director Michael Bay for allowing the mention of God, although very briefly, in the movie. "With Michael [Bay] getting portions of that in the movie where [actor Pablo Schriebe, who plays him] is saying: 'As long as I'm going right with God, He'll take care of me.' I said that," he said.

"Him [Bay] putting it into a movie this size, even that little bit that makes me really happy. I've had so many people come to me and say, 'Thank you for putting God in the movie.' Even that little bit, even that one word."

"We had so many times we could have quit, and because of our faith in God and our faith in each other, we didn't," Tanto said.

The Christian warrior said he hopes that whoever reads the book or sees the movie would be inspired to know that God will always be there to help people overcome any obstacle.

"Have faith that you're in a situation that whether it's good or bad, you're there for a reason and keep your faith in Him," Tanto said.

'Spinning up as we speak': Email shows Pentagon was ready to roll as Benghazi attack occurred

'Spinning up as we speak': Email shows Pentagon was ready to roll as Benghazi attack occurred

FOX News

As the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi was unfolding, a high-ranking Pentagon official urgently messaged Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s top deputies to offer military help, according to an email obtained by Judicial Watch.

The revelation appears to contradict testimony Defense Secretary Leon Panetta gave lawmakers in 2013, when he said there was no time to get forces to the scene in Libya, where four Americans were killed, including U.S. Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens.

“I just tried you on the phone but you were all in with S [apparent reference to then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton],” reads the email, from Panetta’s chief of staff Jeremy Bash. “After consulting with General Dempsey, General Ham and the Joint Staff, we have identified the forces that could move to Benghazi. They are spinning up as we speak.”

The email was sent out at 7:19 p.m. ET on Sept. 11, 2012, in the early stages of the eight-hour siege that also claimed the lives of Foreign Service Information Management Officer Sean Smith and two former Navy SEALs, Ty Woods and Glen Doherty, private CIA contractors who raced to the aid of embattled State Department workers.

Although the email came after the first wave of the attack at the consulate, it occurred before a mortar strike on the CIA annex killed Woods and Doherty.

“This leaves no doubt military assets were offered and ready to go, and awaiting State Department signoff, which did not come,” Judicial Watch, a nonprofit government watchdog said in a statement.

The New Trailer For The Benghazi Movie, ’13 Hours’

The New Trailer For The Benghazi Movie, ’13 Hours’

A second trailer for Michael Bay’s action thriller—or possibly documentary—about the 2012 terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya was released Tuesday.

The trailer for 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi features new action sequences and clues about the plot.

“When everything went wrong, six men had the courage to do what was right,” reads the trailer’s accompanying text.

The film is adapted from the book 13 Hours: The Inside Account of What Really Happened in Benghazi by Mitchell Zuckoff, which documents the heroism of six American security operators as they tried to fend off a deadly attack by an al-Qaeda offshoot.

Bay’s take on Benghazi has drawn the ire of liberal writers, many of whom already hold the “the auteur of awesome” in contempt for his populist work product.

Father Of Benghazi Victim: Hillary Is A Liar Who Doesn’t Deserve To Be President

Father Of Benghazi Victim: Hillary Is A Liar Who Doesn’t Deserve To Be President

Charles Woods, Ty Wood’s dad, was a judge, so he knows how to evaluate the evidence.

The father of Tyrone S. Woods, a CIA contractor killed during the Benghazi attack, on Friday accused former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton of lying to him and the American people about the circumstances that led to his son’s death.

Charles Woods said new evidence presented at a House hearing Thursday showing Mrs. Clinton knew within hours that the attack on Sept. 11, 2012 was a planned and carried out by al-Qaida linked terrorists proved she lied to the victims’ families when she falsely blamed the incident on a spontaneous protest over a U.S.-made anti-Islam video a few days later.

In an interview with The Washington Times radio show, The Capitol Hill Show with Tim Constantine, Mr. Woods recalled how Mrs. Clinton greeted and consoled him at Andrew Air Force base as the body of his son was returned from Libya.

“I gave Hillary a hug and shook her hand. And she said ‘we are going to have the filmmaker arrested who is responsible for the death of your son,’” Mr. Woods said.

“Based on her demeanor and body language I knew she wasn’t telling me the truth,” he added.

Former New York City Mayor and federal prosecutor Rudy Giuliani weighed in on today’s Benghazi hearing with Hillary Clinton

Former New York City Mayor and federal prosecutor Rudy Giuliani weighed in on today’s Benghazi hearing with Hillary Clinton. Giuliani told Sean Hannity, “This seals the case… She’s lying.”

“This seals the case. Before you didn’t know if she was incompetent or lying. Now you know she’s lying because they knew from the very, very beginning that this was a spontaneous attack, one they hadn’t prepared for, one they should have been prepared for. It happened on September 11th, Sean. My goodness… Hillary owns Libya. Her record of Secretary of State is incompetent and then lying for political purposes in order to cover up what’s happening.”

Hillary and Benghazi panel ready to rumble

Hillary and Benghazi panel ready to rumble

Trey Gowdy and the ‪‎Benghazi‬ Select Committee is armed with thousands of previously unseen documents, and are ready to press Hillary Clinton on the response to the attack.

Hillary Clinton will appear before the House Select Committee on Benghazi Thursday in an attempt to settle the last remaining questions about the Sept. 11, 2012 terror attack.

While her team has cast the congressional probe as a political exercise in rehashing the past, investigators have never nailed down answers for lingering loose ends in the official account of what took place at the U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya, nor have they determined exactly how the government chose to present the attack to the American people based on intelligence that was later proven false.

Armed with thousands of documents that no other investigators have ever seen, Chairman Trey Gowdy and the rest of the select committee may finally be in a position to press Clinton on why more resources were not deployed, the nature of the CIA's presence in Benghazi and how gaps in the administration's Libya policy allowed mounting violence to continue unchecked in the run-up to the attack.

Clinton has already testified twice about her role in Benghazi: once to the House Foreign Affairs Committee and once to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in back-to-back hearings on Jan. 23, 2013.

Clinton State Department approved U.S. weapons shipment to Libya despite ban

Clinton State Department approved U.S. weapons shipment to Libya despite ban

Memos recovered from Benghazi compound divulge covert effort

The State Department initially approved a weapons shipment from a California company to Libyans seeking to oust Moammar Gadhafi in 2011 even though a United Nations arms ban was in place, according to memos recovered from the burned-out compound in Benghazi.

The documents, obtained by The Washington Times, show U.S. diplomats at the Benghazi compound were keeping track of several potential U.S.-sanctioned shipments to allies, one or more of which were destined for the Transitional National Council, the Libyan movement that was seeking to oust Gadhafi and form a new government.

At least one of those shipments, kept in a file marked “arms deal,” was supposed to come from Dolarian Capital Inc. of Fresno, California, according to an end use certificate from the State Department’s office of defense trade controls licensing that was contained in the file.

The shipment was to include rocket launchers, grenade launchers, 7,000 machine guns and 8 million rounds of ammunition, much of it new and inexpensive hardware originally produced in the former Soviet bloc of Eastern Europe, according to an itemized list included in the end use certificate.

Dolarian Capital, part of a small network of U.S. arms merchants that has worked with U.S. intelligence, confirmed one of its licensing requests to ship weapons via Kuwait to Libya was approved by the State Department in spring 2011 and then inexplicably revoked before the armaments were sent.

“Dolarian Capital submitted the end user certificate in question to the U.S. Department of State for review and issuance of a license to transfer the arms and ammunition to Libya. The U.S. Department of State responded with a approval, which was revoked shortly thereafter,” one of its attorneys said in a statement issued to The Washington Times. “As a result no arms or ammunition was shipped or delivered to Libya under the end user certificate.”

Nonetheless, the existence of the documents and the temporary approval of at least one U.S. arms shipment provides the most direct evidence that Hillary Rodham Clinton’s State Department was aware of efforts to get weapons into the hands of rebels seeking to oust Gadhafi.

Mrs. Clinton is set to testify Thursday during a highly anticipated appearance before the House Select Committee on Benghazi.

Hollywood Benghazi film sparks controversy inside Libya

Michael Bay's '13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi.'

Hollywood Benghazi film sparks controversy inside Libya

BENGHAZI, Libya — Even before the film’s release, Hollywood director Michael Bay’s new action movie is stirring controversy among government officials and residents of Benghazi, Libya’s second-largest city and the birthplace of the uprising against longtime dictator Moammar Gadhafi.

The film, “13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi,” depicts the events of the September 2012 attack on the US consulate that killed four Americans, including Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens. It is set to be released in January 2016.

Based only on the trailer, which has recently made rounds on Libya’s social media, Benghazi locals and officials slammed “Transformers” director Bay for his unreleased film, calling it an “insult” to the north African nation.

“The people of Benghazi always wanted to be part of the international community,” the Foreign Ministry spokesman for Libya’s internationally-recognized government Salah Belnaba said.

But Bay’s new action flick, he said, sends a message that they are “fanatical and ignorant.”

The film follows a group of ex-military security contractors trying to save American lives in a dusty and hostile Benghazi. The trailer shows the contractors entering the city of Benghazi and quickly turns to shots of explosions, gun-wielding militants, and the Americans suiting up for battle.

“We will not allow the American media to destroy our reputation (using) the film industry,” Benghazi resident Mohamed Kawiri said in a Facebook post shared by hundreds calling for a boycott of the “cheap” movie.

The film portrays the contractors, “who actually failed to secure the ambassador … as heroes,” Libya’s Culture and Information Minister Omar Gawaari exclaimed.

Bay, Gawaari said, “turned America’s failure to protect its own citizens in a fragile state into a typical action movie all about American heroism.”

Nearly four years after the ouster of and death of Gadhafi, Libya is consumed by chaos. The country is split between an internationally recognized government, which was forced to relocate from Tripoli to Eastern Libya, and a rival government and parliament in Tripoli set up by the Islamist-linked militias that control the capital. In Benghazi, Libyan army forces have been battling armed factions led by Islamic extremist commanders for months.

The 2012 attack has kicked up a storm of controversy for Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton, who was serving as secretary of state at the time. Republicans charge Clinton with failing to adequately protect U.S. installations and obscuring the reality of what happened the night of the Benghazi attacks. A Republican-led Congressional panel investigating the attacks has been criticized by Democrats as politically motivated attempt to damage Clinton’s presidential campaign.

But now it is Libya’s moderates who are offended.

One Libyan blogger sees the film as more about American politics than Libya. “It seems that this entire movie boils down to the spoiled bickering of Americans as they grapple for power, using the murder of a good man to gain political leverage over one another. Not unlike Libyan politicians, then,” said the anonymous writer of the Libyan blog Journal of a Revolution. “Between all this, a beautiful city, my city, is reduced to so much hyperbole in a debate that lost relevance long ago.”

Bay said the film has no political objective in the film at a press conference last month at the Deauville Film Festival in France. “I’ve met with the CIA on this movie, and I show the whole situation,” he said. Paramount studios declined to comment on the issue.

Despite Bay’s efforts to make the movie “really real” as he put it, Benghazi locals said the new film appears to misrepresent both their city and the events of that night.

“The decor designers got it all wrong. This looks nothing like Benghazi and the building looks nothing like the real consulate,” said Benghazi photographer Mohamed el-Theib.

Others are worried that the film will not show the Libyans who tried to intervene and help as the attacks were taking place.

“It was the Benghazi locals who fought the militias (that stormed the consulate),” said Kawiri, who says he was among the people that carried Stevens out of the flames that consumed the diplomatic compound and helped the US security guards escape that night. Thousands of protesters took to the streets afterward to denounce Stevens’ killing.

Michael always does excellent work, so this should really be well done.

What the CIA annex was actually tasked with doing in Benghazi

We keep asking what the CIA annex was actually tasked with doing in Benghazi.

It was nothing nefarious but more to control what Hillary and her team were doing.

Remember, the CIA is subservient to the White House and State Department. The Hillary-Benghazi testimony on Thursday is not about emails or the server. That track has already been established. The thrust of the questions will center on exactly what Hillary’s State Department intended to do about Libya after Qaddafi.

Questions will be about mission pieces coming into play and being installed for deposing Qaddafi with regard to buying back weapons and buying others that were NOT bound for Syria but for the Transnational Council to take over the Qaddafi regime with particular emphasis on Tripoli and Benghazi.

As noted from Politico below, this is the posture taken by Gowdy as his team.

Gowdy said he’s particularly interested in asking Clinton about “the increase in violence juxtaposed with the decrease in security” at the mission that was attacked, because “it’s counterintuitive.”

A 1999 report after the East African embassy bombings recommended that the secretary of state take a “personal and active role” in security issues, Republicans — including Gowdy — have noted. Clinton, however, has testified previously that she was not aware of Stevens’ requests for more protection. And while it’s unclear whether the panel has any evidence suggesting that she was, Gowdy says there’s still the issue of “why” those pleas for help didn’t reach her.

When it comes to the machinery that Hillary’s team, it does involve weapons and the contracts and routes they took to reach the destination of Libya, all while doing so against rules and sanctions. Hillary may be actually guilty of much more than we can begin to define.

The facts begin to surface:

Washington Times – Tuesday, October 20, 2015

Gowdy To Other Republicans: “Shut Up If You’re Not On Benghazi Panel”

The chairman of the House committee investigating the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi, Libya, in 2012 pushed back against claims that the probe targeting then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s handling of the attacks was politically motivated.

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) said Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation” that he has told Republican colleagues to “shut up talking about things that you don’t know anything about. And unless you’re on the committee, you have no idea what we have done, why we have done it and what new facts we have found.”
Gowdy said McCarthy, Hanna and Podliska are "three people who don't have any idea what they're talking about."

He added that his position on the committee's purpose has remained consistent: "Four dead Americans is more than enough work for me. She's [Clinton] a witness. She was the secretary of state. You have to talk to her. But we have already talked to 50 people not named Clinton. We're going to talk to another couple of dozen not named Clinton."

State Department Hands Over 925 ‘New’ Hillary Clinton Emails to Benghazi Panel

State Department Hands Over 925 ‘New’ Hillary Clinton Emails to Benghazi Panel

The State Department has indicated to the Congressional Investigation Committee on Benghazi that they screwed up, and found 925 emails relating to Benghazi and Libya that they had NOT sent before.

The State Department informed the House Select Committee on Benghazi on Friday that it would deliver to them approximately 925 new Hillary Clinton emails relating to Benghazi and Libya, among them a small number of Benghazi-related emails that it had missed.

These 925 new emails fall into three broad categories:

1. Benghazi-related emails that the State Department missed in its original review;

2. Hillary Clinton emails related to Libya which the State Department assessed not to be directly related to Benghazi. This makes up the vast majority of the 925 emails being released;

3. Benghazi-related emails that the State Department had previously assessed (PDF) to be of a “personal nature and unrelated to the former Secretary’s official capacity.”

The State Department believes that by producing emails related to Libya but not explicitly related to Benghazi, it is going above and beyond what it has been expressly been asked to provide to the committee.

The Benghazi Committee’s Republicans said that the admission was an indicator that the State Department “intends to foster a more cooperative relationship with the committee,” but that it had not received the new production of emails and could thus not comment on it.

“If indeed this is a sign the stonewalling and political protection effort that was previously being run by the Department is diminishing, the Committee welcomes it. The proof will be in the production,” said Republican spokesman Jamal Ware.

Hillary Clinton herself is expected to testify before the Benghazi committee on October 22, the official said. “To accommodate that, the Department undertook another review of the emails provided by former Secretary Clinton to provide such Libya-related emails, and to ensure all Benghazi-related materials have been provided to the Committee.”

Obama's State Dept Asked Hillary’s Lawyer To Delete Copies Of Classified Benghazi Emails Months Ago

(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch today released Obama administration correspondence containing a letter from Under Secretary of State for Management Patrick F. Kennedy asking Hillary Clinton’s lawyer to destroy all electronic copies of a classified email found in records Clinton decided to turn over to the State Department six months before.

Clinton’s attorney, David Kendall, rejected the request as Congress and other investigators had demanded electronic records be preserved.

The correspondence also shows Hillary Clinton has ignored a demand to turn over all electronic copies of the approximately 55,000 pages of emails she previously returned in paper form.

The correspondence was disclosed by the State and Justice Departments in a Judicial Watch Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit in which Judicial Watch is asking a court to issue a preservation order to protect any emails Clinton has yet to turn over, including those emails in which she and her lawyers unilaterally determined to be personal. (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of State (1:12-cv-02034))

House Benghazi committee to review secret Hillary tapes on Libya

House Benghazi committee to review secret Hillary tapes on Libya

The Washington Times

The chairman of a special House committee created to investigate the 2012 Benghazi tragedy on Monday instructed his staff to review secretly recorded tapes and intelligence reports that detail Hillary Rodham Clinton’s role in advocating and executing the war in Libya, opening the door for a possible expansion of his probe.

Rep. Trey Gowdy’s decision to seek a review of the materials, first highlighted in a series of Washington Times stories last week, carries consequences for the 2016 election in which Mrs. Clinton is expected to seek the presidency. It could also move the committee to examine the strained relationship between the State Department and Pentagon, which sharply disagreed over the 2011 war in Libya and the response to the terrorist attack on the U.S. compound in Benghazi a year later.

The Times reported last week that U.S. intelligence did not support Mrs. Clinton’s story of an impending genocide in Libya that she used to sell the war against Moammar Gadhafi’s regime. The newspaper also unveiled secretly recorded tapes from Libya that showed that the Pentagon and Democratic Congressman Dennis Kucinich so distrusted her stewardship of the war that they opened their own diplomatic channels with the Gadhafi regime.

The tapes included candid conversations and allegations that Mrs. Clinton took the U.S. to war on false pretenses and was not listening to the advice of military commanders or career intelligence officers.

“Chairman Gowdy and the committee are aware of the details reported by The Washington Times, and we are reviewing them as part of the committee’s inquiry into Benghazi,” Benghazi Committee spokesman Jamal Ware announced Monday.

The emergence of the tapes and a new line of inquiry immediately had repercussions, especially on the political front where the 2016 president race has heated up.

Wild Thing's comment.......

God bless Gowdy, I pray all his hard work and tremendous effort he is putting into this works out. Hillary and Obama both have blood on their hands.

Trey Gowdy Opening Statement at Benghazi Select Committee Hearing

Gowdy Opening Statement at Benghazi Select Committee Hearing

January 27, 2015 Press Release

As prepared for delivery

This committee exists because the House of Representatives voted for it to exist and in the process made it very clear what is expected. If you have not read the House resolution authorizing this committee, I would encourage you to do so. For those asking for a roadmap, or the scope of the investigation, or asking what the committee intends to look into, the resolution passed by the House of Representatives, including seven Democrats, answers all of those questions.

The Resolution asks this committee to investigate: “all policies, decisions and activities” related to the attacks, the preparation before the attacks, the response during the attacks, efforts to repel the attacks, the administration’s response after the attacks and Executive branch efforts to comply with congressional inquiries. The operative word in the resolution is the word “all” and the word “all” is about as comprehensive a word as you could use.

So it stands to reason if you are asked to conduct a full and complete investigation into all policies, decisions and activities, you need access to all witnesses, all relevant documents, and all information. Our final task is to write a comprehensive report with recommendations on how to prevent future attacks. To write a comprehensive report, you need access to all witnesses and all relevant documents.

Many members of this committee conducted investigations before coming to congress. So they know it is essential that we talk to every witness and examine all evidence. If six people witness an important event you cannot credibly report on that event by examining one out of the six, or two out of the six. Each witness has a different perspective. Each witness may have observed a different fact. Each witness has a different vantage point. So you need to interview all witnesses.

And time is of the essence. The world is not a safer place than it was in 2012 so the sooner we make recommendations related to improvements the better for the women and men serving us abroad. Moreover time does not make evidence or investigations better.

The purpose of today’s hearing is to hear from some agencies and entities about the state of compliance with requests for documents and access to witnesses. We have had some success. The State Department provided the Committee with 25,000 pages of documents previously provided to the Oversight Committee, but now with fewer redactions. In addition, this production included, finally, 15,000 new pages of documents. These documents include significantly more traffic from State Department leadership than in previously provided information to Congress.

These new documents are a reminder no previous standing committee compiled or had access to a complete record of the events, and is precisely why the Speaker constituted a Select Committee to produce a complete, definitive record for the American public.

Additionally, as of last Thursday night, the CIA finally made available some of the documents we requested—documents, they claimed were ready for review back in November.

While it is good to finally receive the new documents, the pace at which this process is moving is not conducive to the Committee’s work. It should not take a public hearing to make progress on these requests. Our hearings should be about substance, not process. We should be analyzing documents not waiting for them to appear

I want to read a quote:

“I can promise you that if you're not getting something that you have evidence of or you think you ought to be getting, we'll work with you. And I will appoint somebody to work directly with you starting tomorrow, with you, Mr. Chairman, to have a review of anything you don't think you've gotten that you're supposed to get. Let's get this done, folks.”

That was Secretary John Kerry talking about Benghazi at a hearing before another committee of congress. That was in April of 2013.

The Committee has tried to work with the Administration but we are not able to do the job we were instructed to do if we do not have access to all the information and in a timely fashion.

So, there will be mystery to my questions today. There will be no trickery or artifice. I want to know when the agencies are going to comply with the requests made by this committee so we can finish the work assigned to us. The sooner we have access to the documents and witnesses, the sooner we can process the information, write a report, make recommendations and conclude this committee. I have zero interest in prolonging the work of this committee. By the same token I know all too well that time is the enemy of accuracy when it comes to evidence.

So, let me be as clear, we intend to access all of the information necessary to do the job the House instructed us to do. And we need to access that information now. Talking to only some of the witnesses will not work. Accessing only some of the documents will not work. If you want all of the truth, you need all of the information. That is what this committee is going to do. We will do it in a respectful way worthy of the memory of the four who sacrificed their lives for this country and worthy of the respect of our fellow citizens. But it is going to be done and the sooner the agencies make the documents and witnesses available, the sooner we can do what we were asked to do.

Wild Thing's comment.......

Gowdy is a good guy and one can feel how much he wants to do the right thing, he has been working hard to try to get the information needed and the POS Obama fights every step along the way. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

New Documents: Obama's State Department Told Embassies Benghazi Attack Was A “Violent Demonstration,” Not Terrorism

New Documents: Obama's State Department Told Embassies Benghazi Attack Was A “Violent Demonstration,” Not Terrorism

State Department officials called the Sept. 11, 2012, terrorist attack at the U.S. Mission in Benghazi, Libya, a “violent demonstration” even though they had known for many hours that it was a coordinated military-style assault, newly obtained documents show.

“Violent demonstrations took place at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, Egypt, and at the U.S. Special Mission Compound in Benghazi, Libya, resulting in damages in both locations and casualties in Benghazi,” the State Department said in a Sept. 12, 2012, statement issued by its Diplomatic Security Command Center.

The statement was uncovered in a partial document release in a lawsuit after the State Department refused to comply with a Freedom of Information Act request by Judicial Watch, a Right-leaning non-profit that works for increased transparency in government. The FOIA request sought “any and all activity logs, reports, or other records produced by the Diplomatic Security Command Center between Sept. 10 2012, and Sept. 13, 2012, regarding, concerning, or related to the attack at the U.S. Special Mission Compound and Classified Annex in Benghazi, Libya.”

September 16, 2014
Press Release

Washington, DC — Select Committee on Benghazi Communications Director Jamal D. Ware issued the following statement:

“As Chairman Gowdy has said, he is willing to risk answering the same question twice rather than risk it not be answered at all. Since all documents responsive to Congressional inquiries into the Benghazi terrorist attack have not been produced, it is fair to say that not all questions have been asked and answered.

“Chairman Gowdy is leading a fair, fact-based and impartial investigation. The Committee will consider all evidence, across all jurisdictions, and produce the final, definitive accounting on behalf of Congress of what happened before, during and after the terrorist attacks on our facilities in Benghazi.

“Chairman Gowdy sincerely hopes that all sides will not prejudge the outcome of the investigation—before even the Committee’s first hearing, which is on a topic suggested by the Democrats—and instead allow a constructive and thorough investigatory process that produces a final report on Benghazi that is beyond any doubt. Chairman Gowdy is committed to a process and result worthy of the sacrifice of the four Americans who were killed in Benghazi and worthy of the trust of our fellow citizens.”

Hillary allies secretly removed Benghazi documents damaging to her on Benghazi

Hillary allies secretly removed Benghazi documents damaging to her .

According to one of the four officials punished and then cleared by the State Department for the failures that led to the death of 4 American in Benghazi, Hillary allies kept the ARB from seeing some of the most importnat documentation related to the terror attack. Deputy Assistant Secretary Raymond Maxwell spoked to Sharyl Attkisson that the operation was supervised by advisers within Hillary Clinton’s inner circle.

Hillary Clinton’s minions launched a weekend operation in the basement of the State Department to scrub damning documents related to the Benghazi attacks that killed a US Ambassador, a top former official has charged.

Then-Deputy Assistant Secretary Raymond Maxwell said he walked in uninvited to the Sunday afternoon scene a month after the Sept. 11, 2012 terrorist strike to find several boxes of papers — and immediately asked an office director what was happening.

Benghazi Security Team: Stand-Down Order Cost Ambassador Stevens His Life

Benghazi Security Team: Stand-Down Order Cost Ambassador Stevens His Life

Three members of the special annex team who engaged with terrorists during the siege on the American diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya, in September 2012 tell Bret Baier, in the upcoming Fox News report 13 Hours at Benghazi: The Inside Story, that Ambassador Stevens and the three other Americans killed in the attack would be alive, had security forces not been ordered to stand down.

According to intelligence officials, no stand-down order was given. The three men — Kris (“Tanto”) Paronto, Mark (“Oz”) Geist, and John (“Tig”) Tiegen — report differently, saying a stand-down order from higher-ups that cost them 30 minutes trying to protect Americans at the compound. Baier asks them, “If I gave you that 30 minutes back, would Ambassador Stevens and [U.S. Foreign Service Information Management Officer] Sean Smith be alive today?”

“Yes,” responds Paronto immediately. “They would still alive. My gut is yes.” Tiegen concurs: “I strongly believe if we’d have left immediately, they’d still be alive today.”

Obama Calls Benghazi A “Phony Scandal”

Obama Calls Benghazi A “Phony Scandal”

The Hill

Obama charged that his Republican opponents had “nothing to offer except cynicism and fear and frustration” during a fundraiser Thursday in Minnesota.

The fundraiser capped off a day Obama spent with Rebekah Erler, a working mother who wrote the president to detail her financial struggle.

“It moved me,” Obama said of the letter, adding that he only went into politics to help people like her.

Obama said he remembered what it felt like to be struggling to figure out “how you lead a good life and raise your kids, not looking to get wildly wealthy… trying to make ends meet.”

That’s what we should be talking about every day in Washington,” he said. “We talk about everything else. .. We talk about phony scandals. We talk about Benghazi. and we talk about polls and we talk about the tea party and we talk about the latest controversy... We don’t talk about her.”

Libyan government demands U.S. RETURN Benghazi 'mastermind' and calls Delta Force raid that captured him a 'an attack on our sovereignty

Libyan government demands U.S. RETURN Benghazi 'mastermind' and calls Delta Force raid that captured him a 'an attack on our sovereignty

Libyan government officials have condemned the U.S. Delta Force raid that captured an alleged Benghazi mastermind and demanded that he be returned to Libya.

Libyan Justice Minister Saleh al-Marghani said American forces has no right to abscond with Ahmed abu Khattala and another official added that the operation was an ‘attack on Libyan sovereignty.’

Khattala, who was indicted by a U.S. federal court last August for the 2013 attack that killed four Americans, should face trial in Libya for the crimes, al-Marghani said – in the first official response from the government in Tripoli.

‘We had no prior notification. We did not to expect the U.S. to upset our political scene,’ he told a press conference on Wednesday..

-Ahmed Abu Khattala, 42, was captured Sunday outside Benghazi, Libya

-Terror leader taken in joint raid by Delta force FBI without a single shot

-Raid was based on 2011 assault against Osama bin Laden in Pakistan

-The were no civilian or military casualties in the extraction of Khattala

-U.S. justified raid as self-defense, as Khattala 'was planning more attacks'

-Khattala was reportedly read his Miranda rights shortly after his capture

-Was also read safety exemption allowing authorities to quiz him on terrorism

-Khattala charged in August 2013 with leading attacks that killed 4 Americans

-Had been living in Libya and flouted U.S. authorities - even giving interviews

-Khattala is now en route to the United States to stand trial in federal court

US spy agencies heard Benghazi attackers using State Dept. cell phones to call terrorist leaders (video)

US spy agencies heard Benghazi attackers using State Dept. cell phones to call terrorist leaders

Bret Baier and James Rosen at FOX News

The terrorists who attacked the U.S. consulate and CIA annex in Benghazi on September 11, 2012 used cell phones, seized from State Department personnel during the attacks, and U.S. spy agencies overheard them contacting more senior terrorist leaders to report on the success of the operation, multiple sources confirmed to Fox News.

The disclosure is important because it adds to the body of evidence establishing that senior U.S. officials in the Obama administration knew early on that Benghazi was a terrorist attack, and not a spontaneous protest over an anti-Islam video that had gone awry, as the administration claimed for several weeks after the attacks.

Eric Stahl, who recently retired as a major in the U.S. Air Force, served as commander and pilot of the C-17 aircraft that was used to transport the corpses of the four casualties from the Benghazi attacks – then-U.S. Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens, information officer Sean Smith, and former Navy SEALs Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods – as well as the assault’s survivors from Tripoli to the safety of an American military base in Ramstein, Germany.

In an exclusive interview on Fox News’ “Special Report,” Stahl said members of a CIA-trained Global Response Staff who raced to the scene of the attacks were “confused” by the administration’s repeated implication of the video as a trigger for the attacks, because “they knew during the attack…who was doing the attacking.” Asked how, Stahl told anchor Bret Baier: “Right after they left the consulate in Benghazi and went to the [CIA] safehouse, they were getting reports that cell phones, consulate cell phones, were being used to make calls to the attackers' higher ups.”

A separate U.S. official, one with intimate details of the bloody events of that night, confirmed the major’s assertion. The second source, who requested anonymity to discuss classified data, told Fox News he had personally read the intelligence reports at the time that contained references to calls by terrorists – using State Department cell phones captured at the consulate during the battle – to their terrorist leaders. The second source also confirmed that the security teams on the ground received this intelligence in real time.

Major Stahl was never interviewed by the Accountability Review Board, the investigative panel convened, pursuant to statute, by then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, as the official body reviewing all the circumstances surrounding the attacks and their aftermath. Many lawmakers and independent experts have criticized the thoroughness of the ARB, which also never interviewed Clinton.

In his interview on “Special Report,” Stahl made still other disclosures that add to the vast body of literature on Benghazi – sure to grow in the months ahead, as a select House committee prepares for a comprehensive probe of the affair, complete with subpoena power. Stahl said that when he deposited the traumatized passengers at Ramstein, the first individual to question the CIA security officers was not an FBI officer but the senior State Department diplomat on the ground.

“They were taken away from the airplane,” Stahl said. “The U.S. ambassador to Germany [Philip D. Murphy] met us when we landed and he took them away because he wanted to debrief them that night.” Murphy stepped down as ambassador last year. A message left with Sky Blue FC, a private company in New Jersey with which Murphy is listed online as an executive officer, was not immediately returned.

Stahl also contended that given his crew’s alert status and location, they could have reached Benghazi in time to have played a role in rescuing the victims of the assault, and ferrying them to safety in Germany, had they been asked to do so. “We were on a 45-day deployment to Ramstein air base,” he told Fox News. “And we were there basically to pick up priority missions, last-minute missions that needed to be accomplished.”

“You would've thought that we would have had a little bit more of an alert posture on 9/11,” Stahl added. “A hurried-up timeline probably would take us [an] hour-and-a-half to get off the ground and three hours and fifteen minutes to get down there. So we could've gone down there and gotten them easily.”

First order for Benghazi committee members: drawing up attack timeline

First order for Benghazi committee members: drawing up attack timeline

FOX News

by Catherine Herridge

Members of the Republican-led Benghazi select committee are getting down to work, with the first order of business a detailed timeline of the attack.

But it already is apparent to some committee members that previous investigations, including the State Department review known as the Accountability Review Board, were not as exhaustive as the administration claimed.

"If you go look at the other reports that were done, whether it be the Accountability Review Board or the Senate case (last January’s intelligence committee report), there are places where they have enough details but many, many gaps in the fact pattern," Rep. Mike Pompeo, R-Kan., a West Point graduate who sits on the Benghazi select committee, told Fox News.

"We still don't have all of the facts that surrounded the events of that night. Did the Department of Defense speak to the State Department? Did the State Department have good contacts with our intelligence operations folks?Where was the White House and its National Security staff, that entire team that's responsible?"

A detailed timeline breaks down into three phases, including the well- documented, severe threat environment before the attack as well as the security requests from U.S. personnel in Libya that were denied by the State Department.

"We're going to start from the events that led up to the enormous security failure, and the run-up to September 11, 2012 and then we'll look at the events of that evening, the deaths of four Americans and what could have been done to potentially rescue or at least make an effort as America always has done,” Pompeo said.
“And then the aftermath, what it is that this administration did in the aftermath that didn't provide the American people the real knowledge about the actions that took place in the run-up to the deaths of four Americans."

Pompeo, who also is a member of the House intelligence committee, indicated further investigation was warranted into the administration's flawed explanation immediately after the attack, blaming it on a protest gone awry over an obscure anti-Islam video.

In addition, he alluded to the role of presidential adviser Ben Rhodes, whose September 14, 2012 email stated a goal for then-U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice’s talks show appearances should be “To underscore that these protests are rooted in an Internet video, and not a broader failure or policy.”

The Rhodes email was obtained by the conservative group Judicial Watch through a federal lawsuit.

"We know that intelligence analysts on the ground knew instantaneously that this was Al Qaeda and its affiliates who had led this attack,” Pompeo said. “And yet it took an awfully long time, indeed today it's still not clear, (that) this administration has acknowledged the depth and the risks associated with what it means to have anAl Qaeda affiliate actually take down an American (consulate)."

Pompeo said the Republican committee members had met a handful of times, but not yet with the five Democrats recently appointed to the committee by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif. One of the Democrats also sits on the House intelligence committee.

"I know Congressman (Adam) Schiff (D-Calif.) pretty well, he is a decent, hard-working man. I am hopeful that he will work just as hard as I do to get to the facts," Pompeo said.

"We have an obligation, not to grandstand, not to create a circus, but to do a thorough investigation and they have a completely matching obligation on their side. This isn't about going after any one person. This isn't about attacking any administration, this is about getting answers for the American people."

Separately, the group Special Operations Speaks, an organization of retired military special operations professionals, has written to the Benghazi select committee chairman, Rep.Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., urging him to further investigate the lack of a significant military response.

"When we as a nation put our people in harm's way, we must do so with the clear knowledge that we have done our very best to provide the support essential to their survival when the chips are down," the group wrote in a May 28 letter.

"This is an American value. That essential trust and confidence was breached in Benghazi and broadcast a very dangerous message to future diplomats, warriors, and citizens."

Trey Gowdy has filled key position on House Select Committee

To lead the Republican majority staff, Gowdy selected Philip Kiko, a key aide to Rep. James Sensenbrenner, R-Wis., when the latter served as chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, and more recently a registered lobbyist for the Smith-Free Group, a K Street lobbying firm with a diverse roster of clients.

House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, swiftly welcomed Gowdy’s choice, calling Kiko “a man of unquestioned integrity with a record of distinguished service” in and out of Congress. “His appointment today is further proof of Chairman Gowdy’s commitment to an investigation that is serious, fact-based, and professional,” Boehner said in a statement, adding: “There is no better person to help lead this effort than Phil.”

Democrats Not Sure They'll Participate in Benghazi Select Committee

Democrats Not Sure They'll Participate in Benghazi Select Committee

House Democrats say they're still waiting by the phone for Speaker John Boehner's call, and until they hear from him, they cannot decide whether to participate in the Benghazi Select Committee to which Republicans were named Friday.

“The speaker has not responded to respectful and reasonable requests for bipartisan standards. He has not responded. He did not return any phone calls that Leader Pelosi made to him yesterday. We are trying to find a way to make this work, but the Republicans have shown no inclination to make it work,” Rep. Steve Israel (D-NY) told reporters on Friday.

Democrats want full access to the committee's documents and interviews, as well as input on who receives subpoenas.

“If this is going to be a true bipartisan inquiry, we’ll participate. If this is going to be a Republican campaign strategy, it’s going to be harder for us to participate,” Israel said, referencing the National Republican Campaign Committee's email to donors centered around the Benghazi Select Committee.

When asked by Breitbart News to respond to Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen’s floor remarks Thursday that the accusation that the GOP is fundraising off the 2012 Benghazi attack is like the "pot calling the kettle black," Israel responded, “I don’t know what she’s talking about, quite honestly.”

Israel continued:

We have asked the Speaker and his staff to consider a variety of options. I’m not going to talk publicly about what those options are, but we’re looking forward to a reasonable response from the Speaker. ... The Republicans have passed a resolution creating a committee, but until the gavel is banged and the first meeting is held, there’s room for us to discuss to make sure that this is fair and balanced and bi-partisan and not a witch-hunt.

Israel, who is the head of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), repeatedly said Democrats were willing to involve themselves in the select committee, but may very well boycott if conditions they are offering Speaker Boehner are not met.

Israel noted that Republicans should not have full control over determining the ratios, who gets subpoenaed, and who receives access to information. He also said:

I believe we should participate, as long as we participate in something that is a truly balanced and bipartisan inquiry, but if the response by the Republicans is 'our way or the highway,' I don’t know why we would want to participate in something. We have given them every opportunity and multiple chances to show us and work with us on a balanced and fair inquiry. And if every one of those requests has been met with rejection and partisanship, it would be very hard for us to participate.

If Democrats do not participate in the select committee, however, they will not have access to subpoenaed documents immediately, either. “I’m hopeful that before we even get to that concern, that the Speaker and the Republican majority provides [sic] us with a process that’s fair and balanced,” Israel told Breitbart News.

Wild Thing's comment.............

The left wants to play childish, hyper-partisan, anti-America games.

Just another banner to fly about their lack of concern about the rule of law, their irresponsibility, their lack of intelligence and morals -- and their complicity or actual guilt in the murders of the four Americans in Benghazi.

Hillary Clinton Sees “No Reason” to Further Investigate the Benghazi Scandal

Hillary Clinton saying today she sees “no reason” to investigate the Benghazi Scandal any further.

Well, that’s a shock! Hillary Clinton does not want to give answers as to why four Americans were not protected to start with by her State Department.

She does not want to explain why reinforcements were not sent to help the Americans under attack in Benghazi on September 11.

She does not want to explain why she, along with Obama, lied for two weeks after the attack, blaming it on a video.

Yet she sees “no reason” to talk about further.

Liberals Threaten to Assassinate Trey Gowdy for Leading Benghazi Investigation

The U.S. Capitol Police are investigating threatening emails against Rep. Trey Gowdy, the South Carolina Republican recently tapped to lead a special panel probing the Benghazi terrorist attacks.

The investigation comes after POLITICO reporters and journalists at other outlets received two emails on Tuesday warning that Gowdy would be harmed because of his role in investigating the 2012 attacks.

The Capitol Police would not comment on the scope of the investigation but Officer Shennell Antrobus confirmed that there is “an active, open investigation.”

Gowdy was tapped on Monday to lead a new select committee on Benghazi. His office referred all questions to the Capitol Police.

Capitol Police investigate all threats against members of Congress but they’ve paid especially close attention to death threats — even those that seem improbably — after former Rep. Gabby Giffords (D-Ariz.) survived an assassination attempt in 2011.

In 2012, a woman approached Gowdy with a gun while he was sitting in his car in Spartanburg, S.C.

Fox Confirms Stunning WH Exchange On Benghazi & The Terror Question

From last night......Fox Confirms Stunning WH Exchange On Benghazi & The Terror Question - The Kelly File

Discrepancies Found Between Benghazi Emails White House Gave To Congress And Those Court Ordered Released To Judicial Watch…

Documents reviewed by Fox News show there are differences between Benghazi emails released through the federal courts to the conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch and emails released to the House oversight committee as part of its investigation into the attacks.

The discrepancies are fueling allegations the administration is holding back documents to Congress.

“The key question is whether Congress now has all the documents,” Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, a member of the oversight committee, said. As for differences between the two sets of documents, Chaffetz alleged: “They are playing games. The classification and redactions are different. Why should Judicial Watch get more than Congress after issuing a subpoena?”

The emails published by Judicial Watch last week, which showed additional White House involvement in shaping the public explanation of what happened, helped trigger the announcement Friday by House Speaker John Boehner of a select committee to investigate.

Two of the emails, from Sept. 14, 2012, appear to be part of the deliberations in advance of then-U.N. ambassador Susan Rice’s Sunday show appearances were she linked an anti-Islam video to the Benghazi attacks. The emails released to Judicial Watch include the names of those who participated in the email chain.

The same emails provided to the House committee do not include names.

While the text and subject line are redacted in full for both Judicial Watch and Capitol Hill, there are unexplained differences in the classification. The emails, originally marked “unclassified,” were retroactively classified in February by the Department of State.

The email released to Judicial Watch is now marked “SECRET,” and the same email released to the Oversight Committee is marked “Confidential.” Both are marked to “DECLASSIFY” on Sept. 13, 2037 — 25 years after the terrorist attack which killed four Americans.

Fox News also reviewed an email from Sept. 12, 2012 from Rice to members of the U.S. team at the United Nations where Rice was U.S. ambassador at the time. This unclassified email, whose subject line and text are also redacted in full, was retroactively classified on April 16, 2014, one day before it was released. While the contents and subject line were redacted in both versions, the email released as a result of the federal lawsuit to Judicial Watch does include the names, while the other does not.

Wild Thing's comment...........

The WH and Obama acting more and more guilty in how his administration handled this.

If there is no difference, if Benghazi really didn’t matter, then why did the president and the Secretary of State lie about it for weeks afterwards? Why was it so important to lie about it? Just this week, Jay Carney lied about it again!!

20 months later and we still do not have answers to basic questions. For instance, where was the president that evening while his ambassador was being killed? We now know he was not in the situation room at any time during the evening. Where was this absentee president? What was he doing that was more important than Benghazi? We still do not know…we can only guess…

Jay Carney Refuses to Answer if Obama White House Will Cooperate With Benghazi Investigation

White House spokesman Jay Carney refused to answer if the Obama administration will cooperate with the Benghazi investigation.

He was asked if the administration considered the new committee legitimate, and said he declined to speculate. ABC’s Jonathan Karl later asked directly if the administration would cooperate, to which Carney declined to give a yes or no answer.

“What I’m not going to do is speculate about what might come and how it’s going to play out,” Carney said after making a comment that elicited laughter from the White House press corps. “What I will remind you of is our cooperation of our history on this and many others.”

He went on to say, “We’re going to focus on where we can move forward for the American people.”

New Benghazi documents released last week revealed the White House hid the truth from Congress.

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) Released Statement After Named Chair of the Select Committee on Benghazi

Gowdy Named Chair of the Select Committee on Benghazi

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) released this statement regarding the announcement that Speaker John Boehner has chosen him to lead the select committee to investigate the Benghazi attacks:

“I applaud Speaker Boehner for his decision to establish a select committee and am honored to serve as Chairman. Twenty months after the Benghazi attacks, there remain unresolved questions about why the security was inadequate, our response during the siege itself, and our government's interaction with the public after the attack. All of those lines of inquiry are legitimate and should be apolitical. Facts are neither red nor blue.

“While people are free to draw different conclusions from the facts, there should be no debate over whether the American public is entitled to have all of the facts. In a courtroom, juries are free to believe one witness over a hundred witnesses. But you cannot make that or any other credibility determination if you do not have access to all relevant witnesses, documents and other tangible evidence.

“Four of our fellow citizens were murdered, and a facility emblematic and representative of our country was attacked and burned on the anniversary of 9-11. Our fellow citizens are full well capable of processing the truth about the attacks and aftermath, and most assuredly entitled to hear it.”

Wild Thing's comment............

White House Spokesman Jay Carney told reporters on September 15, 2012, four days after terrorists stormed the consulate in Benghazi and killed US Ambassador Chris Stevens, that the Middle East protests were in response to a video.

“These protests were in reaction to a video that had spread to the region… The unrest we’ve seen in the region has been in reaction to a video.”

The Obama administration lied about the Cairo protests, too.The rioting at US in Cairo on 9-11 2012 was not about about a video.

Why would Carney claim, with a straight face, that Rice was being prepped “about protests around the Muslim world”? Because, other than Benghazi, the “protest around the Muslim world” that Americans know about is the rioting (not “protest,” rioting) at the U.S. embassy in Cairo a few hours before the Benghazi siege. When Benghazi comes up, the administration — President Obama, Hillary Clinton, Susan Rice, Jay Carney, et al. — loves to talk about the Cairo “protests.” Why? Because the media, and thus the public, have bought hook, line, and sinker the fraudulent claim that those “protests” were over the anti-Muslim video. Obama & Co. shrewdly calculate that if you buy “Blame the Video” as the explanation for Cairo, it becomes much more plausible that you will accept “Blame the Video” as the explanation for Benghazi — or, at the very least, you will give Obama officials the benefit of the doubt that they could truly have believed the video triggered Benghazi, despite a mountain of evidence to the contrary.

You see, the Benghazi fraud hinges on the success of the Cairo fraud. If you are hoodwinked by the latter, they have a much better chance of getting away with the former.

But “Blame the Video” is every bit as much a deception when it comes to Cairo.

Thanks to President Obama’s policy of supporting the Muslim Brotherhood and other Islamic supremacists in Egypt, post-Mubarak Cairo became a very hospitable place for jihadists. That included al-Qaeda leaders, such as Mohammed Zawahiri, brother of al-Qaeda emir Ayman Zawahiri; and leaders of Gama’at al-Islamia (the Islamic Group), the terrorist organization led by the Blind Sheikh — Omar Abdel Rahman, the terrorist I convicted in 1995 for running the jihadist cell that bombed the World Trade Center and plotted to bomb other New York City landmarks.

In the weeks before September 11, 2012, these jihadists plotted to attack the U.S. embassy in Cairo. In fact, the Blind Sheikh’s son threatened a 1979 Iran-style raid on the embassy: Americans would be taken hostage to ransom for the Blind Sheikh’s release from American prison (he is serving a life sentence). Other jihadists threatened to burn the embassy to the ground — a threat that was reported in the Egyptian press the day before the September 11 “protests.”

The State Department knew there was going to be trouble at the embassy on September 11, the eleventh anniversary of al-Qaeda’s mass-murder of nearly 3,000 Americans. It was well known that things could get very ugly. When they did, it would become very obvious to Americans that President Obama had not “decimated” al-Qaeda as he was claiming on the campaign trail. Even worse, it would be painfully evident that his pro–Muslim Brotherhood policies had actually enhanced al-Qaeda’s capacity to attack the United States in Egypt.

The State Department also knew about the obscure anti-Muslim video. Few Egyptians, if any, had seen or heard about it, but it had been denounced by the Grand Mufti in Cairo on September 9. Still, the stir it caused was minor, at best. As Tom Joscelyn has elaborated, the Cairo rioting was driven by the jihadists who were agitating for the Blind Sheikh’s release and who had been threatening for weeks to raid and torch our embassy. And indeed, they did storm it, replace the American flag with the jihadist black flag, and set fires around the embassy complex.

Because there was a kernel of truth to the video story, and because the American media have abdicated their responsibility to report the predominant causes of anti-Americanism in Egypt, journalists and the public have uncritically accepted the notion — a false notion — that the video caused the Cairo rioting. That acceptance is key to the administration’s “Blame the Video” farce in connection with the lethal attack in Benghazi.

At about 10 p.m. Washington time on the night of September 11 — after they knew our ambassador to Libya had been murdered and while the siege of Benghazi still raged — Secretary of State Clinton and President Obama spoke on the telephone. Shortly afterwards, the State Department issued a statement from Secretary Clinton blaming the video for the atrocity in Benghazi. That was the beginning of the fraud’s Benghazi phase — the phase Susan Rice was prepped to peddle on nationwide television. But it wasn’t the beginning of the fraud.

BOOM!… Brig. Gen. Robert Lovell (Ret.) to Congress on Benghazi: ‘This Was No Demonstration Gone Terribly Awry”

Brigadier General Robert Lovell, U.S. Air Force (Retired) told the House Oversight Committee today, under oath, that the military knew immediately Benghazi was terrorist attack and not a “protest gone awry.” Brigadier General Robert W. Lovell served as Deputy Director for Intelligence and Knowledge Development Directorate, United States Africa Command in the discharge of all Intelligence and Counterintelligence responsibilities as assigned by the Unified Command Plan.

“Nor did we completely understand what we had in front of us, be it kidnapping, rescue, recovery, protracted hostile engagement, or any or all the above. But, what we did know quite early on was that this was a hostile action. This was not demonstration gone terrible awry. To the point of what happened, the facts led to the conclusion of a terrorist attack. The Africom J2 was focused on attribution. The attacks became attributable very soon after the event.”
