Mitt Romney Wins Michigan and AZ. ~ Congratulations!!

by Jennifer Rubin at The Washington Post

Mitt Romney was as relaxed and loose in his victory speech as we have seen him since New Hampshire. He had dodged a bullet in his home state (he conceded that he had not won by a lot) and steadied his campaign in time for Super Tuesday.

Romney went after the president’s record and the anemic recovery. “We need a recovery from this so-called recovery,” he cracked, reminding the crowd that President Obama had two years with a Democratic majority in Congress to enact any policies he wanted.

In ticking of the contrasts with the president on everything from Obamacare to taxes, Romney used the time to focus the race on the economy. He marched through his own fiscal and tax agenda, and in some detail. In doing so, he was plainly seeking to connect with Republicans around the country with the fiscal conservative message that helped him win in Michigan.

He also won by 38 to 31 percent over Rick Santorum voters who made up their minds today, suggesting there may have been a backlash against Santorum’s robocalls to Democrats. Moreover, Santorum went to Ohio while Romney stayed and battled for the final votes in Michigan.

As for other demographic groups, Santorum lost Catholic voters, perhaps offended by his remark that JFK’s 1960 speech made him “throw up.” Santorum lost male voters by one point and women by five, suggesting the gender gap is still an issue for him.

Although Romney lost the very conservative vote, he won the somewhat conservative vote handily.

Wild Thing's comment.......

I am so glad Santorum did not win. During ithe afternoon yesterday they were showing a lot of democrats that had voted for Santorum and each one said they did it because they can Santorum to win and then they will vote in the General for their guy......OBAMA. They all said basically the same thing, they want Obama to win another term.

RINO Maine Sen. Olympia Snowe Won’t Seek Reelection

Maine Sen. Olympia Snowe Won’t Seek Reelection

Three-term Senator Olympia J. Snowe (R-Maine) issued the following statement today with regard to her re-election campaign:

“After an extraordinary amount of reflection and consideration, I am announcing today that I will not be a candidate for re-election to the United States Senate.

“After 33 years in the Congress this was not an easy decision. My husband and I are in good health. We have laid an exceptionally strong foundation for the campaign, and I have no doubt I would have won re-election. It has been an indescribable honor and immeasurable privilege to serve the people of Maine, first in both houses of Maine’s legislature and later in both houses of Congress. To this day, I remain deeply passionate about public service, and I cherish the opportunity I have been given for nearly four decades to help improve the lives of my fellow Mainers.

“As I have long said, what motivates me is producing results for those who have entrusted me to be their voice and their champion, and I am filled with that same sense of responsibility today as I was on my first day in the Maine House of Representatives. I do find it frustrating, however, that an atmosphere of polarization and ‘my way or the highway’ ideologies has become pervasive in campaigns and in our governing institutions.

“With my Spartan ancestry I am a fighter at heart; and I am well prepared for the electoral battle, so that is not the issue. However, what I have had to consider is how productive an additional term would be. Unfortunately, I do not realistically expect the partisanship of recent years in the Senate to change over the short term. So at this stage of my tenure in public service, I have concluded that I am not prepared to commit myself to an additional six years in the Senate, which is what a fourth term would entail.

“As I enter a new chapter, I see a vital need for the political center in order for our democracy to flourish and to find solutions that unite rather than divide us. It is time for change in the way we govern, and I believe there are unique opportunities to build support for that change from outside the United States Senate. I intend to help give voice to my fellow citizens who believe, as I do, that we must return to an era of civility in government driven by a common purpose to fulfill the promise that is unique to America.

“In the meantime, as I complete my third term, I look forward to continuing to fight for the people of Maine and the future of our nation. And I will be forever and unyieldingly grateful for the trust that the people of Maine have placed in me, and for the phenomenal friendship and assistance I have received over the years from my colleagues, my supporters, and my staff, both in Maine and in Washington.” Senator Snowe will be scheduling a news conference in Portland, Maine, in order to further discuss her decision when she returns to her home state on Friday.

Obama After Cutting Pay For Soldiers in Harm’s Way… Now He Cuts Healthcare Benefits For Active Duty Soldiers

Obama to cut healthcare benefits for active duty and retired US military

Barack Obama cut pay for military men and women serving in harm’s way starting this month.

Now the Obama Administration is planning on cutting healthcare benefits for active duty soldiers while leaving unionized civilian defense workers’ benefits untouched.

Source

The Obama administration’s proposed defense budget calls for military families and retirees to pay sharply more for their healthcare, while leaving unionized civilian defense workers’ benefits untouched. The proposal is causing a major rift within the Pentagon, according to U.S. officials. Several congressional aides suggested the move is designed to increase the enrollment in Obamacare’s state-run insurance exchanges.

The disparity in treatment between civilian and uniformed personnel is causing a backlash within the military that could undermine recruitment and retention.

The proposed increases in health care payments by service members, which must be approved by Congress, are part of the Pentagon’s $487 billion cut in spending. It seeks to save $1.8 billion from the Tricare medical system in the fiscal 2013 budget, and $12.9 billion by 2017.

Many in Congress are opposing the proposed changes, which would require the passage of new legislation before being put in place.

“We shouldn’t ask our military to pay our bills when we aren’t willing to impose a similar hardship on the rest of the population,” Rep. Howard “Buck” McKeon, chairman of the House Armed Services Committee and a Republican from California, said in a statement to the Washington Free Beacon. “We can’t keep asking those who have given so much to give that much more.”

Administration officials told Congress that one goal of the increased fees is to force military retirees to reduce their involvement in Tricare and eventually opt out of the program in favor of alternatives established by the 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare.

“When they talked to us, they did mention the option of healthcare exchanges under Obamacare. So it’s in their mind,” said a congressional aide involved in the issue.

Military personnel from several of the armed services voiced their opposition to a means-tested tier system for Tricare, prompting Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin Dempsey to issue a statement Feb. 21.

Dempsey said the military is making tough choices in cutting defense spending. In addition to the $487 billion over 10 years, the Pentagon is facing automatic cuts that could push the total reductions to $1 trillion.

“I want those of you who serve and who have served to know that we’ve heard your concerns, in particular your concern about the tiered enrollment fee structure for Tricare in retirement,” Dempsey said. “You have our commitment that we will continue to review our health care system to make it as responsive, as affordable, and as equitable as possible.”

Under the new plan, the Pentagon would get the bulk of its savings by targeting under-65 and Medicare-eligible military retirees through a tiered increase in annual Tricare premiums that will be based on yearly retirement pay.

Significantly, the plan calls for increases between 30 percent to 78 percent in Tricare annual premiums for the first year. After that, the plan will impose five-year increases ranging from 94 percent to 345 percent—more than 3 times current levels.

According to congressional assessments, a retired Army colonel with a family currently paying $460 a year for health care will pay $2,048.

The new plan hits active duty personnel by increasing co-payments for pharmaceuticals and eliminating incentives for using generic drugs.

The changes are worrying some in the Pentagon who fear it will severely impact efforts to recruit and maintain a high-quality all-volunteer military force. Such benefits have been a key tool for recruiting qualified people and keeping them in uniform.

“Would you stay with a car insurance company that raised your premiums by 345 percent in five years? Probably not,” said the congressional aide. “Would anybody accept their taxes being raised 345 percent in five years? Probably not.”

A second congressional aide said the administration’s approach to the cuts shows a double standard that hurts the military.

“We all recognize that we are in a time of austerity,” this aide said. “But defense has made up to this point 50 percent of deficit reduction cuts that we agreed to, but is only 20 percent of the budget.”

The administration is asking troops to get by without the equipment and force levels needed for global missions. “And now they are going to them again and asking them to pay more for their health care when you’ve held the civilian workforce at DoD and across the federal government virtually harmless in all of these cuts. And it just doesn’t seem fair,” the second aide said.

Spokesmen for the Defense Department and the Joint Chiefs of Staff did not respond to requests for comment on the Tricare increases.

The massive increases beginning next year appear timed to avoid upsetting military voters in a presidential election year, critics of the plan say.

Additionally, the critics said leaving civilian workers’ benefits unchanged while hitting the military reflect the administration’s effort to court labor unions, as government unions are the only segment of organized labor that has increased in recent years.

As part of the increased healthcare costs, the Pentagon also will impose an annual fee for a program called Tricare for Life, a new program that all military retirees automatically must join at age 65. Currently, to enroll in Tricare for Life, retirees pay the equivalent of a monthly Medicare premium.

Under the proposed Pentagon plan, retirees will be hit with an additional annual enrollment fee on top of the monthly premium.

Congressional aides said that despite unanimous support among the military chiefs for the current healthcare changes, some senior officials in the Pentagon are opposing the reforms, in particular the tiered system of healthcare.

“It doesn’t matter what the benefit is, whether it’s commissary, PX, or healthcare, or whatever … under the rationale that if you raise your hand and sign up to serve, you earn a base set of benefits, and it should have nothing to do with your rank when you served, and how much you’re making when you retire,” the first aide said.

Military service organizations are opposing the healthcare changes and say the Pentagon is “means-testing” benefits for service personnel as if they were a social program, and not something earned with 20 or more years of military service.

Retired Navy Capt. Kathryn M. Beasley, of the Military Officers Association of America, said the Military Coalition, 32 military service and veterans groups with an estimated 5 million members, is fighting the proposed healthcare increases, specifically the use of mean-testing for cost increases.

“We think it’s absolutely wrong,” Beasley told the Free Beacon. “This is a breach of faith” for both the active duty and retiree communities.

Congressional hearings are set for next month.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars on Feb. 23 called on all military personnel and the veterans’ community to block the healthcare increases.

“There is no military personnel issue more sacrosanct than pay and benefits,” said Richard L. DeNoyer, head of the 2 million-member VFW. “Any proposal that negatively impacts any quality of life program must be defeated, and that’s why the VFW is asking everyone to join the fight and send a united voice to Congress.”

Senior Air Force leaders are expected to be asked about the health care cost increases during a House Armed Services Committee hearing scheduled for Tuesday.

Congress must pass all the proposed changes into law, as last year’s defense authorization bill preemptively limited how much the Pentagon could increase some Tricare fees, while other fees already were limited in law.

Tricare for Life, Tricare Prime, and Tricare Standard increases must be approved, as well as some of the pharmacy fee increases, congressional aides said.

Current law limits Tricare fee increases to cost of living increases in retirement pay.

Desperate Santorum Robocall Urges Democrats to Come Out & Vote Against Romney ~ DISGUSTING!

Santorum Robocall Urges Democrats to Come Out & Vote Against Romney

LANSING, MI — Rick Santorum’s campaign is locked in a tight battle with Mitt Romney ahead of Tuesday’s Michigan primary. On Monday his camp started openly courting a demographic that’s not often reached out to in GOP primaries: Democrats.

Michigan’s primary rules allow Dems to vote in the state’s GOP primaries.

Following some speculation that the robocall may have been a “false flag” effort designed to harm Santorum, a spokesman Hogan Gidley confirmed to TPM that they were indeed footing the bill, and reaching beyond party lines. “If we can get the Reagan Democrats in the primary, we can get them in the general,” he told TPM.

It’s a controversial tactic. Bill Ballenger, a longtime Michigan politico and the editor of Inside Michigan Politics, spoke with TPM about the call earlier in the day. He said the call piqued his interest because it sounded like it could have come from a union targeting Romney ahead of the Feb. 28 primary. The call focuses on Romney’s opposition to the auto bailout and calls on Democrats to vote for Santorum Tuesday because of it.

“It went on and on like this and I kept listening because I kind of smelled a rat,” Ballenger said. “And finally at the very end, in a tagline it says, ‘this call was paid for by the Santorum for president committee.’”

I asked Ballenger, who’s followed many elections in Michigan, if the Santorum call classifies as playing dirty.

“This is a dirty trick,” he said. “I mean, first of all you know how these robocalls are. You get one, generally speaking, you kind of after the first couple of sentences you know what they’re after. If you don’t hang up right away you get the message, right? Well, most people don’t listen all the way through [and] you have to listen to the bitter end of this one to get the clincher. Otherwise, you’d hang up and you’d be convinced this came out of UAW Solidarity House or the Obama reelection campaign.”

What’s more, Ballenger said, the messenger delivering an attack on Romney for opposing the auto bailout is a little disingenuous.

“You talk about chutzpah: here’s Santorum who’s just as opposed to the bailout as Romney is, but he’s putting out robocalls to Democrats urging them to crossover and vote in the Republican for Santorum,” Ballenger said. “The only thing intellectually in the whole message that it seems to be the Santorum committee could use to justify this tactic is the one line that, you know, ‘Romney was all too happy to support bailing out Wall Street, but not Michigan.’ Santorum is in the position all along of ‘a plague on both their houses. No bailouts for anybody.’”

Sturgeon Bay cat saves owner's life

A break from politics.................

Amy Jung of Sturgeon Bay credits her newly adopted cat, Pudding, with helping save her life the day she brought him home. The cat woke Jung from a diabetic reactive seizure and went to get help. / Tina M. Gohr/Gannett Wisconsin Media

Sturgeon Bay cat saves owner's life

Feline wakes woman from diabetic seizure

Most of us are, by now, familiar with the idea of “seizure dogs” and “therapy dogs” who assist owners with special medical needs. But a seizure cat? Keep this in mind if you’re ever considering rescuing a feline from the local shelter.

STURGEON BAY — A Sturgeon Bay woman has a lot to be thankful for after her newly adopted cat woke her from an insulin reaction just hours after bringing him home.

Amy Jung and her son, Ethan Jung, originally went to the Door County Humane Society on Feb. 8 to play with the cats, not to bring one home. Then Jung, 36, saw Pudding lying on a counter. She made a quick decision to adopt Pudding and his pal Wimsy.

When the Jungs arrived home, the 21-pound, orange-and-white Pudding made himself right at home, acting as if he had always been there.

"He just really took right over. Really second nature," she said.

At around 9:30 p.m., she went to bed and about 1½ hours later, the prodigious kitty came to her rescue.

Jung, who was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 4, started to have a seizure. According to Jung, Pudding planted his weight on her chest and, when he could not wake her, began swatting her face and biting her nose.

"Anything he could to pull me out of it (the seizure)," she said.

It worked. She woke up and the convulsions stopped long enough for her to call to her son for help. When Ethan did not respond to the calls, the cat ran to his room and jumped on his bed.

Ethan later told her that he didn't know anything was wrong until the giant cat landing on the bed woke him up.

Jung is convinced that she would not have survived the night if Pudding had not intervened.

"If something or someone hadn't pulled me out of that, I wouldn't be here," she said.

The next day she spoke with her doctor about her seizure and her cat's unusual actions. The doctor told her he had heard of animals alerting their owners to a health crisis but had never known anyone who had experienced it.

"Realistically you can't be without him," he told her. Jung is registering Pudding as a therapy animal.

Pudding will also sit at her feet and meow when her blood sugar is low, she said.

At first sight Pudding's only significant attribute is that he is really, really big. As Jung, wearing a red Humane Society fleece, told her story, Pudding lay curled on the couch apparently unaware of his new role in her life.

Carrie Counihan, Door County Humane Society executive director, has known the laidback cat on and off for years and finds the story believable.

"I think it's an amazing story, and I knew Pudding pretty well from his time at the shelter," Counihan said.

Pudding, born July 2003, was originally surrendered to the Humane Society in February 2008 due to his owner's allergies. In April 2008 he was adopted and lived with his last owner until January, when she died.

When Pudding and Wismy came to the shelter, Pudding would lounge on Counihan's desk, never acting pesky.
Hearing that Pudding had acted out of character was enough to convince her.

"That, for me, makes the story really stand out," she said. "That he was sensing something and reacting to it."

The Humane Society is glad that there is a happy ending for both Pudding and Jung.

"We're glad that she called us (about what happened) and that Pudding went into her family that day," Counihan said.

.

And here is a video below that relays the story of another cat who saved a different woman who was having a heart attack.

Governor Jan Brewer Endorses Mitt Romney ~ Thank You Gov. Brewer!!

Two days before her state's primary, Gov. Jan Brewer of Arizona on Sunday endorsed Mitt Romney for the Republican presidential nomination.

"I'm going to publicly endorse Mitt Romney. I think he's the man that carried the day," Brewer said on the NBC program "Meet the Press."

The endorsement is considered a boost for Romney in Arizona, a conservative state where he is favored in Tuesday's primary against rivals Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul.

"I think he has that pro-business background and he has that political history that I think he would serve America the best of all the candidates," Brewer said, adding that Romney also has the best chance of defeating President Barack Obama in November.

Wild Thing's comment.........

Well I am glad! Of all the candidates left the ONLY one I could vote for and not be sick to my stomach is Romney. The next lesser sick feeling would be Newt and I rate Santorum and Ron Paul on the same level of over the top sickening and dangerous.

Of course Rick Perry is and always will be my first choice....deep sigh. One day I hope he runs again. He is the one true rock solid conservative that was in the presidential race.

Top U.S. Commander Orders All NATO Personnel Withdrawn From Afghan Ministries

Reuters - Afghan protesters shout anti-U.S. slogans during a protest in Kunduz province. Four people were shot dead by Afghan security forces on Saturday as protests over the burnings of the Muslim holy book at a NATO base erupted for a fifth day, with an attempt by demonstrators to bombard a U.N. compound in the north.

Top U.S. Commander Orders All NATO Personnel Withdrawn From Afghan Ministries

The Washington Post

The top U.S. commander in Afghanistan on Saturday recalled all NATO personnel working in Afghan ministries in the Kabul area — a bold and potentially divisive response to the killing of two American service members by an Afghan security official in the country’s fortified Interior Ministry earlier in the day.

Marine Gen. John R. Allen’s directive comes five days after U.S. military personnel burned a pile of Korans at the largest military base in Afghanistan in an apparently inadvertent act that set off violent protests across the country. More than 25 Afghans have died in those demonstrations, and four NATO soldiers have been killed by men wearing Afghan security uniforms since Thursday, when the Taliban urged Afghan soldiers and police to turn their weapons on their Western counterparts.

The week’s events have exposed a core vulnerability of the Obama administration’s strategy for winding down the decade-long Afghan war: a fraying trust between two presumed allies who must depend on each other to keep the insurgency at bay.

Obama's STUPID Response ( his APOLOGY LETTER) To Afghan President Karzai Could Fan The Flames Against Our Troops

Two U.S. Soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan in retaliation for the inadvertent burning by NATO Troops of Korans being used to pass messages by prison detainees. An Afghan Soldier reportedly opened-fire killing the two U.S. soldiers. Protests, being encouraged by the Taliban, are spreading across the country in reaction to the story about the Koran being burned.

U.S. response to Koran burning could fan flames, analysts warn

FOX News

As protests rage across Afghanistan for the third day in response to the burning of Korans at a U.S. military base, some are questioning whether the parade of apologies from the U.S. government may do more harm than good.

The latest installment came Thursday, when the U.S. ambassador delivered an apology letter from President Obama to Afghan President Hamid Karzai. That follows apologies from Afghanistan commander Gen. John Allen, the White House, NATO’s International Security Assistance Force and other Pentagon officials.

Meanwhile, nearly a dozen people have died, including two U.S. troops. And some analysts are criticizing the U.S. response. “It just feeds the sense of grievance,” Nina Shea, a senior fellow with the Hudson Institute, said of the “constant round of apologies.” . . . .

The backlash began after Korans were burned with garbage at a military base in Afghanistan. Officials said they were removed from the detention center library because the detainees were using them to pass messages to one another. Afghans ultimately stepped in to rescue the books. One official said it was a “breakdown in judgment, not a breakdown in our respect for Islam.” Obama’s letter on Thursday reportedly apologized for the “error” and assured Karzai that the U.S. government would take “appropriate steps” to make sure such an incident doesn’t happen again, “to include holding accountable those responsible.” Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer, an Army Reserve officer who served in Afghanistan from 2003 to 2004, concurred that the burning was “patently stupid” — not just because it’s religiously insensitive but because the messages inside the Korans by detainees could have been used for intelligence purposes.

“These are all threads. These things are threads that can be used to build that tapestry of an intelligence picture,” Shaffer said.

But Shaffer said for the U.S. government to repeatedly apologize for the incident is only helping the Taliban. “They will use that to again flame their own fire,” he said. “The more they apologize, the more it’s going to inflame them.”

Wild Thing's comment......

IMO our troops had a good reason to burn the stupid Korans' If the prisoners were using them like it says to pass information to each other then from the beginning the priosoners were on their own NOT respecting their vile koran.
Obama for sure has added more problems with his letter of apology. He is a worthless POS for doing this against our troops.

Obama Mocks Oil Companies, and Drilling For Oil ~ Hope YOU Like HIGH Gas Prices Obama Voters

A feisty President Barack Obama ridiculed his Republican adversaries’ plans to ease soaring gasoline prices Thursday, saying Americans would not fall for strategies that can be written on a bumper sticker.

“Some politicians always see this as a political opportunity. Only in politics do people greet bad news so enthusiastically,” he said accusing his rivals of trying to profit from high prices and the pumps.

The American Automobile Association has predicted average prices across the country could reach $4.25 a gallon by May, up from $3.61 today.

“Since it’s an election year, they’re already dusting off their three-point plans for two dollar gas. I’ll save you the suspense: Step one is drill, step two is drill, and step three is keep drilling,” he said in prepared remarks.

“We heard the same thing in 2007, when I was running for president. We hear the same thing every year. We’ve heard the same thing for thirty years.”

“Well the American people aren’t stupid. You know that’s not a plan — especially since we’re already drilling. It’s a bumper sticker. It’s not a strategy to solve our energy challenge.”

Newt Gingrich Campaign Warned 2nd Time for Financial Dealings ~ This is NOT Good!!!

Gingrich Campaign Warned 2nd Time for Financial Dealings

The Washington Times

Newt Gingrich’s presidential campaign has received a second warning from the Federal Election Commission (FEC) for widespread financial irregularities, saying the campaign must disclose why nearly $1 million was paid to the candidate, staff and a small group of fundraising consultants for questionable reimbursements.
But hours after the FEC letter on its 2011 finances became public, the campaign filed a report for a newer time period, January, that indicated that the problems have become far worse.

The campaign transferred Mr. Gingrich $88,000 last month for unspecified “travel” expenses, a pace far higher than he paid himself over the course of 2011, a federal report filed Monday showed. It was part of $220,000 in mystery money that month that went to people close to Mr. Gingrich on top of their salaries, raising the issue of potential self-dealing.

The FEC warning letter was issued the day The Washington Times documented the suspect reimbursements.

Gingrich spokesman R.C. Hammond had told The Times that the payments were a result of Mr. Gingrich footing bills early in the campaign and getting reimbursed because no bank would give the campaign a credit card. He had said the campaign was finally able to obtain a credit card late last year, so there would be no reason for the pattern to continue in 2012.

The January payments came in two checks over four days at the end of the month. He would not explain the discrepancy this week.

The FEC’s objections are not to the idea of a candidate and staff fronting costs and getting reimbursed, but because the technique has caused a huge segment of the campaign’s expenditures to become a black box. Rule books say every restaurant, vendor, hotel or other company that receives more than $200 in donated funds must be disclosed, even if a billing conduit is used.

A separate disclosure Monday showed that Becky Burkett, a former top official of a nonprofit Mr. Gingrich headed who now runs a pro-Gingrich super PAC called Winning Our Future, paid herself $220,000 in donated money last month — making more in 20 days than any other super PAC official has made in total since the groups exploded onto the scene, a review by The Times showed.

Santorum Loses

.

by Rich Lowry at National Review

Rick Santorum’s night was defined by explaining why he voted for things he opposed (NCLB, Title X). He’s right that politics is a “team sport” (at least most of the time), but that’s not the best posture to be defending when you’re occupying his slot in a Republican presidential primary. He didn’t know when to let go on the earmark discussion, which he couldn’t possibly win. He gave the best possible defense of his Specter endorsement, but as Romney said it was convoluted. Again and again Santorum got tangled up in his Senate record. Overall, he was too defensive, too insider, too complicated.

Romney came loaded to bear with oppo and was deft enough to use it effectively, catching Santorum, for instance, apparently having it both ways on Title X.

Wild Thing's comment........

imo Romney was the best in the debate last night. Santorum while others spoke would make a lot of weird faces. He behaved like a spoiled child when confronted. Newty had some funny lines and so did Ron Paul.

There was almost a feeling of relilef from all of them that this debate would be the last one for awhile. I can imagine they are all sick of the debates. I sure would be. hahaha

Obama Complains AGAIN and Says:White House Concerts Make Up For Confining Nature of Presidency

Politico

Obama and first lady Michelle Obama hosted a star-studded array of musicians to celebrate the blues Tuesday at the latest “In performance at the White House” series of concerts.

Obama said in introductory remarks that hosting the concerts is a welcome perk of the presidency.

“Some nights when you want to just go out and take a walk, clear your head… Secret Service won’t let you, and that’s frustrating,” he said. “Then there are other nights when Mick Jagger and B.B. King come over to your house and play a concert. So I guess things even out a little bit.”

Michelle Obama's latest vacation (ski trip) marks 16 Tax Payer Funded Obama vacations

Michelle Obama Takes Taxpayer Funded Vacation No. 16

“No country can be well governed unless its citizens as a body keep religiously before their minds that they are the guardians of the law, and that the law officers are only the machinery for its execution, nothing more.”

Mark Twain The Gilded Age (1874)

Life is good when you’re not an average tax-paying, slave-laboring prole in America:

Washington Examiner

"First lady Michelle Obama’s weekend jaunt to Aspen, Colorado for a President’s Day ski holiday with her daughters Sasha and Malia makes the 16th time members of the first family have gone on extended vacations during their three years in office."

The Obama Vacation List

when Air Force One is used it is $184,000 an hour to fly

* President’s Day 2012, Michelle and the first daughters in Aspen, Colorado to ski.
* Christmas 2011, the first family in Hawaii for an extended vacation.
* Summer 2011, in Martha’s Vineyard, Mass., for the annual beach break.
* June 2011, the first lady, her mother and daughters traveled to South Africa and Botswana.
* President’s Day 2011, the first lady and first daughters travel to Vail to ski.
* Christmas 2010, in Hawaii.
* August 2010, the first family traveled to Panama City Beach, Fla., for some sun and fun at the beach.
* August 2010, Obama spent the weekend alone in Chicago for his 49th birthday bash.
* August 2010, the first lady and daughter Sasha traveled to Spain for a mother-daughter vacation.
* August 2010, summer vacation again at Martha’s Vineyard.
* July 2010, the first family went to Mount Desert Island, Maine.
* May 2010, the first family had a four-day trip to Chicago.
* March 2010, first lady and daughter spend Spring Break in New York City.
* Christmas 2009, Hawaii again for the annual break.
* August 2009, at Yellowstone National Park and the Grand Canyon for a short vacation.
* August 2009, their first summer vacation as first family at Martha’s Vineyard, Mass.

Millions are out of work, tens of millions more are living in poverty and struggling to feed themselves, the government is printing trillions of dollars to stay afloat, yet our First Lady has determined that it is prudent to take a vacation, on average, once every two and a half months at taxpayer expense.

.

Wild Thing's comment......

I refuse to cal her First Lady, I never have and never will.

In all my years I have never witnessed anyone in their capacity whose level of contempt against America combined with unconscionable spending of taxpayer dollars remotely approached these fetid scum.

Saudi Arabia Cuts Oil Output and Exports ~ GOOD, Maybe People Wiil Start To Wake Up and See We Need To Drill in the USA!!!

Saudi Arabia Cuts Oil Output and Exports

Despite record gas prices Democrats killed another Arctic drilling project last week. This comes after Obama rejected the Keystone pipeline project. US gas prices at the pump have doubled since the Obama took office.

As gas prices climb to record high prices in the United States, Saudi Arabia has cut outputs and exports.
CNBC reported:

The world’s top oil exporter, Saudi Arabia, appears to have cut both its oil production and export in December, according to the latest update by the Joint Organizations Data Initiative (JODI), an official source of oil production, consumption and export data.

The OPEC heavyweight saw production decline by 237,000 barrels per day (bpd) from three-decade highs of 10.047 million bpd in November, the JODI data showed on Sunday.

The draw-down was sharper for the actual amount exported, declining by 440,000 bpd, or 5.6 percent, to come in at 7.364 million bpd, the data also showed. The level would still be similar to exports after a steep ramp-up last June.

In its monthly report on February 10, the IEA put Saudi Arabia’s production number for December slightly lower at 9.55 million bpd, a disparity of 260,000 bpd versus the JODI data.

Iran appeared not to have filed data in time for the latest release, providing no additional clues about how many export barrels were already lost in December, as some reports have suggested.

Wild Thing's comment.........

Good for Saudi Arabia!! They might as well. We have a president that will not drill, will not allow the Keystone pipline, hates oil companies in our country and loves the ones Soros has dealings with. Go for it Saudi’s maybe if it gets bad enough people will wake up to how bad Obama is for our country. Not enough realize it yet.

Battle of Iwo Jima - Fierce Fighting Footage ~ Feb.19th, 1945

Battle of Iwo Jima - Fierce Fighting Footage

Battle of Iwo Jima - Fierce Fighting Footage [Full Resolution]Iwo Jima is an island some 650miles south of Tokyo. It is part of the Japanese Volcano Islands. On 19th February 1945, Iwo Jima became the setting of a major battle where the United States fought the Japanese to reclaim the island back from Japan. It was just one of the bloody battles during the Pacific War.

On February 19, 1945 about 30,000 United States Marines of the 3rd, 4th and 5th Marine Divisions, under V Amphibious Corps, landed on Iwo Jima and a battle for the island commenced. The landing was called Operation Detachment.

Following the American victory, a group of US Marines reached the top of Mount Suribachi on February 23, 1945 and raised the American flag. They were persuaded to re-enact the event shortly afterwards by AP photographer Joe Rosenthal. The photo later won a Pulitzer Prize and is the subject of the USMC War Memorial at Arlington National Cemetery.

At 2 AM on the morning of February 19, battleship guns signaled the commencement of D-Day. Soon 100 bombers attacked the island, followed by another volley from the naval guns. At 8:30, Marines disembarked toward the shores of Iwo Jima. Their objective -- Suribachi Mountain, at the south of the island, which guarded the beaches.

The Marines faced heavy fire from Suribachi and inhospitable terrain, rough volcanic ash which allowed neither secure footing or the digging of a foxhole. They were sitting ducks. Still, by that evening, the mountain had been surrounded and 30,000 Marines had landed. About 40,000 more would follow.

The climb up Suribachi was fought by the yard. Gunfire was ineffective against the Japanese, but flame throwers and grenades cleared the bunkers. Finally, on February 23, the summit had been reached. The erection of the American flag that day proved an inspiration not only to the combatants but to a grateful nation for years to come.

Every man and woman who has served as a United States Marine since February 1945 has carried with him or her the legacy of Iwo Jima. It is woven into their consciousness just as tightly as the fabric that makes up their uniform. The sacrifices made on that battlefield inform them every day of the inalterable standards to which history might make them also accountable. The courage and sense of duty of their fellow Marines on Iwo Jima breathes dignity into their own acts.

None of these men will ever be forgotten.

Thank you

Obama Filled With Hate Does Attack Ad Targets Koch Brothers and Orders TV Stations To Air It!!!

Barack Obama started the new year with an attack ad targeting the Koch brothers.

Days after the Koch brothers’-funded PAC released an ad critical of President Obama and Solyndra, Obama’s re-election campaign has released its first TV ad to fight back.

As The Caucus reports, “The Obama campaign responded hastily. It placed orders for television time on Wednesday, telling broadcast stations that it wanted the advertising on the air immediately. Typically, stations require more than a day’s notice.”

A voiceover says, “Secretive oil billionaires attacking President Obama with ads fact checkers say are not tethered to the facts”—a reference to the billionaire, Tea Party-loving Koch brothers who have funded the PAC Americans for Prosperity. The ad mentions how Obama has created 2.7 million clean energy jobs, reduced dependence on foreign oil and says his record on ethics is “unprecedented,” ending with, “President Obama. Kept his promise to toughen ethics rules and strengthen America’s energy economy.”

Recently a spokesman for Koch industries responded to the latest attacks on the wealthy brothers.

“We will exercise our First Amendment rights and not be intimidated or silenced by the President’s aides and his allies who criticize private citizens that disagree with the President’s policies.”

It’s not the first time the Obama administration has attacked the Koch brothers. In fact Obama’s pursuit of the billionaire industrialist Koch brothers is has been compared to McCarthyism at its worst or Richard Nixon’s enemies list.

And Obama’s leftist army has responded in kind. The Koch brothers have received hundreds of threats of violence including death threats since Barack Obama declared war on the businessmen.

“We are under attack from various directions, both with threats of violence against us personally, and with threats of attacks on our businesses,” Charles Koch said Thursday, in a phone interview from his office in Wichita.

The Wichita Eagle

Charles Koch, his brother and employees have in recent months been getting death threats, hundreds of obscenity-laced hate messages, and harassment from some far left-wing groups, Koch said on Thursday. …

“I hope you all DIE,” one e-mail, received last year, said. “You people are ruining our country, and all for $$$.” “Choose your expiration Date, Brothers…” said another. “The Koch brothers will DIE!!!!!” said another.

There were hundreds more — some from Wisconsin, where the Kochs were accused of aiding Gov. Scott Walker in his disputes against unions. Most of them were signed with what appear to be real names, many contained obscenities, and some Koch employees said these messages had made them nervous.

Obama Has Lawsuits Against 7 Oil and Gas Companies Because of 28 Dead birds...BUT He Is OK That Windmills Kill Thousands of Birds

A Bird-Brained Prosecution

The Obama administration is prosecuting seven oil and gas companies for the deaths of 28 birds. But what about the wind industry?

The Wall Street Journal points out in an editorial this morning:

The Obama Administration’s hostility to oil and gas exploration is well known, but last week it took an especially fowl turn. The U.S. Attorney for North Dakota hauled seven oil and natural gas companies into federal court for killing 28 migratory birds that were found dead near oil waste lagoons…

Continental Resources is accused of violating the 1918 Migratory Bird Treaty Act because “on or about May 6, 2011 in the District of North Dakota” the company “did take [kill] one Say’s Phoebe,” of the tyrant flycatcher bird family. Brigham Oil & Gas is accused of killing two Mallard ducks. The Class B misdemeanors carry fines of up to $15,000 for each dead bird and up to six months in prison…

Absurdity aside, this prosecution is all the more remarkable because the wind industry each year kills not 28 birds, or even a few hundred, but some 440,000, according to estimates by the American Bird Conservancy based on Fish and Wildlife Service data. Guess how many legal actions the Obama Administration has brought against wind turbine operators under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act? As far as we can tell, it’s zero.

Wild Thing's comment.........

Sheesh! Obama absolutely hates the American oil industry.

The windmills churn up more birds, thousands from what I heard. How many lawsuits has Obama had on them?

America on Verge of Economic Collapse Because of Obama's Cooked Reports

America on Verge of Economic Collapse Because of Obama's Cooked Reports

News Blaze

by Chuck Ness

The Obama administration has released an economic report that claims everything is coming up roses, and it is making the rounds of the MSM's news outlets. Truth is, when you look into the numbers, it's rather easy to come to the conclusion that the economic reports are as screwy as the administration's employment numbers. In order to convince Americans that his economic measures are working, Obama is claiming there has been an increase in retail sales from December to January by a seasonally adjusted .4%. The administration goes on to explain that while the economy is moving in a positive direction, it is still slow. They also point out that the recently reported gains reduced unemployment to 8.3%, proving that Socialist economic policies are working. However, Obama's unemployment numbers have since been proven to be lies. Have I stated that we are in an election year and that Obama needs to get re-elected in order to continue transforming the greatest country in the history of mankind into a Soviet style basket case? To assist in the destruction, the MSM has been knowingly repeating this administration's lies.

Instead of reporting how America's real unemployment is actually up between 19 and 25%, they report that Obama has been able to get unemployment down to 8.3%. Instead of reporting that the government is spending more money than it is taking in, and that retail sales have dropped by almost $100 billion from December to January, we are told by the administration's propaganda machine that retail sales have increased by .4%. In an election year, the MSM will do everything in their power to convince Americans that Obama is even greater than Ronald Reagan.

Tax Foundation Rips Santorum Tax Plan Grade: D+

Tax Foundation Rips Santorum Tax Plan

The Wall Street Journal

An antitax advocacy group zinged Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum’s tax plan, giving him a grade of “D+” grade and the dubious honor of proposing what “may be the worst idea of any of the Republican candidates.”

The Tax Foundation, a Washington nonprofit that supports lower taxes, blasted Mr. Santorum’s tax proposal in a blog post, just days after the former Pennsylvania senator’s near-victory in the Iowa caucuses.

”The good news is Santorum has gotten more specific about his tax plan since last month when we gave him a D+,” economist William McBride wrote on Thursday. “The bad news is… he’s gotten more specific.”

Mr. McBride said the biggest problem with Mr. Santorum’s proposal is the sharply different corporate tax rates he would establish. Mr. Santorum would halve the corporate tax rate to 17.5% from its current top rate of 35%. Manufacturers, however, would not have to pay any corporate taxes.

Mr. McBride said the idea is “grossly unfair,” and unlikely to gain traction in Washington. If it did, he said, many businesses would “suddenly claim to be a manufacturer.”

The Santorum campaign did not return requests for comment.

The tax group also took aim at Santorum’s suggestion to triple the tax deduction families can take for each child. “This is obviously a big tax cut, and might spur growth, or it might just spur child making,” Mr. McBride wrote. The Tax Foundation echoed concerns expressed earlier this week by the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center that tripling the child tax deduction could push more low-income families off the tax rolls.

While the Santorum campaign has filled in some of the details in recent weeks, big ones remain missing, Mr. McBride wrote. The plan would collapse the current six rates to just two — 10% and 28% — but it doesn’t specify who would pay those rates, he said, adding: ”That’s kind of important.”

.

Wild Thing's comment.........

This Santorum guy really turns my stomach. The 0 percent for manufacturers is most likely Rick’s way of paying back his union buddies, who will just support the libs anyway. It’s also playing favorites. It’s funny that I heard him call this a “flat tax”, even though it’s 17 percent and 0 percent, two different tax rates. I don’t understand why he doesn’t call for eradicating the Capital Gains Tax. Makes no sense to me at all.

And every tax deduction that favors one person is using government force to take those same tax dollars from somebody else. People should only have children if they can afford them on their own — not by forcing their childless neighbors to carry their tax burden. Santorum has a lot of kids so of course he wants this.

Rick Perry's plan was the best and it received A's and A+ on every write up I read about it.

OMG FBI Says It’s “Open To The Idea” of Establishing a Committee With Muslim Groups To Review Material Used In Anti-Terror Training ~ Totally Stupid!!

FBI Says It’s “Open To The Idea” of Establishing a Committee With Muslim Groups To Review Material Used In Anti-Terror Training

Washington Post

FBI officials say they are willing to consider a proposal from a coalition of Muslim and interfaith groups to establish a committee of experts to review materials used in FBI anti-terrorism training.

The coalition raised the idea during a Feb 8 meeting with FBI Director Robert Mueller, who met with the groups to discuss pamphlets, videos and other anti-terrorism training materials that critics say are either Islamophobic or factually incorrect.

“We’re open to the idea, but they need to submit a proposal first,” said Christopher Allen, an FBI spokesman who was in the meeting.

Groups at the meeting included the Islamic Society of North America, the Muslim Public Affairs Council, the Sikh American Legal Defense and Education Fund, the Interfaith Alliance, and the Shoulder-to-Shoulder campaign.

The FBI is satisfied with the job that its own experts had done in reviewing and purging “problematic” materials, Allen said, and the agency is also “developing guidelines so it won’t happen again in the future.”

Mueller told representatives of the groups that FBI experts had reviewed almost all of the agency’s training materials, including 160,000 pages of documents. More than 700 documents and 300 presentations were subsequently pulled from the agency’s training materials.

Materials that were pulled contained incorrect or imprecise information, were stereotypical, or “in poor taste,” the FBI said.

While the groups praised Mueller for the review and for listening to their concerns, they also say trust between Muslims, Sikhs and the FBI had been damaged by the episode.

“It is a travesty that the Muslim-American community has lost trust with an agency that is here to protect us,” said Salam Al-Marayati, director of the Muslim Public Affairs Council, a Los Angeles-based advocacy group.

In a statement, the groups urged the FBI to acknowledge “the negative impact of these training materials on the Muslim-American community.”

Allen said he didn’t know whether such a statement would be forthcoming, but said Mueller had already spoken several times about his regret over the episode and his appreciation for the Muslim community’s cooperation with the FBI in thwarting terrorist attacks.

“The FBI views the Muslim community as a useful partner in stopping terrorism, and we appreciate the cooperation they’ve given us,” Allen said.

Wild Thing's comment........

OMG ( taking a deep breath) we are no longer at war with Islam. The USA is digging its own grave and Obama and his people are leading the way.

I do not trust or respect ANY muslims. None. Nada. Not even the non-violent ones because they have chosen to be a muslim, and to identify themselves with muhammad: one of the vilest criminals known to man. So anyone who thinks that this perverted, evil man was a prophet from God clearly believes a lie and they've conjoined themselves with this evil man. All Muslims are in Allah's Army.

An army in the battlefield falls into three functional categories: combat, combat support, and combat service support. That covers anyone in Allah's Army, regardless of function, who calls himself/herself a muslim.

Back in 2007 Obama Warned He’d Make the US Defenseless… Now He’s Cutting 80% of US Nukes

Barack Obama - Yes I Can Make Us Defenseless—Just Like Dec 7, 1941

Back in 2007 Obama Warned He’d Make the US Defenseless… Now He’s Cutting 80% of US Nukes

I’m the only major candidate who opposed this war from the beginning. And as president I will end it. Second, I will cut tens of billions of dollars in wasteful spending. I will cut investments in unproven missile defense systems. I will not weaponize space. I will slow our development of future combat systems. And I will institute an independent “Defense Priorities Board” to ensure that the Quadrennial Defense Review is not used to justify unnecessary spending. Third, I will set a goal of a world without nuclear weapons. To seek that goal, I will not develop new nuclear weapons; I will seek a global ban on the production of fissile material; and I will negotiate with Russia to take our ICBMs off hair-trigger alert, and to achieve deep cuts in our nuclear arsenals.”

Now he’s cutting 80% of the US nuclear arsenal.

Limbaugh

There are some things happening today that are downright scary. The regime, led by Barack Hussein Obama, is weighing options for reducing our US nuclear force, including a reduction of up to 80% in the number of deployed warheads — 80%. Folks, this is staggering. Meanwhile, the Iranians are nuking up. Iran announced today that they’re gonna cut off oil to six countries that have opposed its nuclear program, and more importantly, Iran also announced that they have installed domestically made nuclear fuel rods in their Tehran reactor.

Now, if that’s true, this is significant because the sanctions that are currently imposed on them are supposed to prevent them from getting the material that you need to make nuclear rods. And, also, if this is true, it puts Iran that much closer to being able to make a nuclear weapon. We’re unilaterally disarming. We are not requiring the Russians to go along and, even if the Russians said they would match these reductions, they lie. That is the lesson of the Russians and nukes. What was our top moment? Our number of warheads peaked at 12,000 in the late eighties. And let me tell you something. That number of nuclear warheads is what helped us win the Cold War. That number of nuclear warheads sent a message to every other nation, particularly at that point in time, the Soviet Union, “You hit us, it doesn’t matter. We’ve got enough left to wipe you out in retaliation.” That many nuclear warheads was a deterrent.

So much is flashing back to me. You go back to the eighties and the seventies, the nuclear freeze movement, the peaceniks wanted to get rid of nukes, and there was an arms race going on. We were increasing our stockpile, as were the Russians. The numbers mattered only in terms of deterrent. We had to keep up, and we had to stay ahead. You build, for example, the B-2 bomber, hoping never to have to use it. The left has never understood this about military matters and defense. They never understood this about nukes. You build them so that you don’t have to use them. That’s the point. You don’t build them because you want to. You don’t build them because you can’t wait to use them. You don’t build them because you’re warmongers. You build them so that you don’t have to. It’s what’s behind practically every major weapon invention and manufacture.

The B-2 stealth bomber, you hope you never have to use it. Now, we have had to, obviously. But the hope is that the brute force and the ability to project power is enough to deter anybody from taking us on. It’s a great strategy, it is how this stuff works, and now Barack Obama is reducing our stockpile unilaterally by 80%, back to 300 warheads. Now, you might say, “Well, that’s good, Rush, it’s making the world safer.” It is not making the world safer. If the Russians still have 15,000 or 2,000, whatever the number is, folks, there’s a balance of power here that has shifted away from us, and this — I am here to tell you — is by design.

.

Wild Thing's comment........

This is putting the world on the path to WWIII.

Obama is not a fool. Obama is a radical left wing Marxist. If you look at each and every decision he has made it is totally and clearly rational if one is a Marxist.

Defense Sec. Panetta Calls on Congress to Oppose Obama's Automatic Defense Cuts

Defense cuts "would do untold damage to our national defense" Panetta says while testifying on Capitol Hill.

Testifying on Capitol Hill, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta urged Congress to prevent $500 billion in defense cuts from automatically taking effect and doing “untold damage” to America’s national security.

The budget mechanism that would put defense cuts on autopilot “is a crazy process that would do untold damage to our national defense,” Panetta told the House Armed Services Committee Wednesday. ”It’s a mechanism that would do just kind of blindsided cuts across the board and would really hollow out the force.”

It would be devastating. … Another $500 billion and I’d have to throw the strategy I just presented to you out the window,” Panetta said, speaking about the defense budget for the fiscal year 2013.

Panetta told committee chairman Rep. “Buck” McKeon, a Republican, “I’m prepared to work with you in every way possible to try to work on both sides to try to develop an approach that would de-trigger

LMAO Obama Says He Has Made Made a Lot of Progress Because He Set Up a Government Service Website ~ Dear Lord This Man Is a Putz!

Weekly Standard

In an interview tonight with News Channel 8’s Keith Cate from Tampa, President Obama praised his administration’s ability to “[use] the Internet more effectively” so that folks, “If they need a government service, they don’t have to navigate through 50 websites, they can go to one website so on those fronts we’ve done a lot, we’ve made a lot of progress.”

The president’s answer came in response to this question from Cate: “One final question, during the last campaign you talked about fundamentally changing the way Washington does business, a more efficient, more transparent, more creative Washington. Have you succeeded in that goal? Are we fundamentally better off? Is Washington a better place, is it working more efficiently?”

President Obama’s is unable to say that he has fundamentally changed “the way Washington does business.” Instead, he is only able to tout some website, pointing only to the smallest changes around the edges.

Report: Santorum’s Fiscal Record Not in Line With Tea Party

Rick Perry's points out that Senator Rick Santorum as a Pennsylvania Senator was a "Big Washington Spender" voting for "Ear Marks" . He voted for the Bridge to Nowhere TWO TIMES and repeatedly voted to protect unions.

Report: Santorum’s Fiscal Record Not in Line With Tea Party

Rick Santorum, who has emerged recently as an enduring conservative alternative to frontrunner Mitt Romney, is starting to feel the heat for his record. To start with, an op ed in the Miami Herald takes Santorum to task for multiple violations of Tea Party orthodoxy on fiscal issues:

Supporters of the tea party movement, the grass-roots conservatives who’ve been relentless in demanding tough, lean budgets, are rallying behind Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum – but Santorum‘s record suggests he’s hardly one of them. [...]

Yet while Santorum was a U.S. senator from Pennsylvania from 1995 to 2007, he was hardly the kind of die-hard fiscal conservative whom movement followers crave.

Among other things, the article accuses Santorum of getting close to $1 billion in earmarks, while voting for similarly wasteful projects like the infamous Bridge to Nowhere. It also points out his vote for the Prescription Drug Benefit as an example of his willingness to spend, and shares the reservations of leaders from several of the major fiscally conservative organizations, such as the National Taxpayers’ Union and the Club for Growth.

Santorum’s record on earmarks and spending, according to these sources, isn’t liberal enough to raise too many alarm bells, but is a long way from the sort of “no new spending” principled conservatism of a Jim DeMint or a Rand Paul. The article also claims that political expediency has been a deciding factor in more than a few cases where Santorum’s voting record is concerned, though he has a consistent record in favor of tax cuts.

.

Wild Thing's comment......

Santorum has been a big spender of our tax dollars and it will be up to the people to decide how much they care about that. So far what I have seen from the tea party movement and what they said they wanted and what they came through in supporting has been two different things. Perry had it all and my guess is there are a lot of tea party people that wish now they had thrown their support to Rick Perry.

One thing for sure this is the craziest election.

Dictator Obama To Unleash “Truth Teams” To Counter Negative Coverage ~ How Many Times Has This Jerk Done This To Americans??!!!!

Obama To Unleash “Truth Teams” To Counter Negative Coverage

Obama rolling out propaganda teams in 13 states

ABC News

The Obama campaign is today beginning a new effort to enlist and educate at least 2 million supporters for a “grassroots communications team” they’re calling the Truth Team.

“The goal is to ensure that when Republicans attack President Obama’s record, grassroots supporters can take ownership of the campaign and share the facts with the undecided voters in their lives,” the campaign said in a statement.

The teams will be first launched in 13 “swing states,” including Iowa, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Minnesota, Nevada, Ohio and Virginia.

The rollout also includes a social media blitz, directing supporters to three new websites: KeepingHisWord.com, which highlights Obama’s record and “promises kept”; KeepingGOPHonest.com, which highlights GOP policy positions; and AttackWatch.com, which fact-checks claims made against Obama on the campaign trail.

“If the other guys are going to run a campaign based on misrepresenting the president’s record – and their own – we have two options: sit back and let these lies go unchallenged, or fight back with the truth,” deputy Obama campaign manager Stephanie Cutter said in an email. ”We’re fighting back

So far, the “other guys” mentioned on the three websites are almost exclusively limited to former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney. There is one mention of former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and one mention of Americans for Prosperity, a non-profit advocacy group.

Obama organized a similar grassroots effort in 2008 – Fight the Smears - that involved more than 1 million supporters, campaign aides said.

Republican National Committee spokeswoman Kirsten Kukowski said the initiative reflects a desperate attempt to spin Obama’s negative track record from his first term.

“The Obama campaign is organizing propaganda teams to deceive voters because Americans are catching onto the reality that Obama’s record doesn’t match his rhetoric,” Kukowski said in an email. “How else will they mask the broken promises like introducing another trillion dollar deficit or the fact that the president continues to recycle the same proposals without ever seeing results?”

Flashback: Take a look at the Obama truth squad from 2008. It included prosecutors and police

Actress Raquel Welch About the GOP Race

FOX News

Lincoln Center will be hosting a tribute honoring actress Raquel Welch and her films. Neil Cavuto sat down with the actress who claims she’s, “not very scandalous,” despite being a major sex symbol.

Welch admitted that it wasn’t always easy to be taken seriously when it came to voicing her political views. Instead she says she would rather take action, recalling going to Vietnam with Bob Hope to visit the troops.

On the number of GOP debates, she feels like it allows people to get to know the candidates better. As far as the “mud-slinging” between candidates, “There comes a point where it does cross the line, but I honestly also think that we are educated by this process.”

Without mentioning a particular president, Welch continued, “I think too many times a total stranger without any background or anything that we can really hang our hat on comes along with charm, and a silver tongued devil thing and seems very self possessed. And it’s almost like he should be you know a talk show host or a movie star.”

Wild Thing's comment.......

Raquel is great, I thought you might like to see and hear what she had to say on her appearance with Neil Cavuto.

She is a republican and I am not sure but I think she always has been.

Krauthammer: Israel ‘will strike’ Iran to ‘prevent a second holocaust’

"I cannot imagine the Israelis are going to allow Iran to go nuclear and to hold the Damocles sword over 6 million Jews all over again"

Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer doubled down on an assertion he made last week about the inevitability of an Israeli strike on Iran to limit the Islamic republic’s nuclear capabilities.

Daily Caller

“Our own secretary of Defense has said it’s highly likely and he gave a timeframe — April, May, June — which means the Israelis think that the moment, the zone of immunity where they can no longer attack successfully, is approaching,” Krauthammer said.

“I think he is right. I think the Israelis are serious unless happens between now and midyear or even November that will threaten the regime, because it won’t change the policy. I think Israel will strike because it cannot live under the threat of annihilation from Iran.”

Krauthammer also had some strong words about why he thought an attack was likely.

“Unless something intervenes,” Krauthammer replied. “I cannot imagine the Israelis are going to allow Iran to go nuclear and to hold the Damocles sword over 6 million Jews all over again. Israel was established to prevent a second Holocaust, not to invite one.”

NRA official: Obama wants to outlaw guns in 2nd term !!!

NRA official: Obama wants to outlaw guns in 2nd term

While 49 other states have ratified Concealed Carry laws, Illinois is diligently working to track and punish their own citizens for exercising their Constitutional rights. If Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel has his way, gun owners will not only be tracked in the same manner as sex offenders, but will be slapped with a repeating $65 fee…for each gun.

Rahm Emanuel proposes $65 per-gun fee and registry

Chicago Sun Times

Emanuel’s proposal would require all handgun owners to obtain a certificate of registration from the State Police for every handgun they own — at a cost of $65-per-weapon — and to renew that registration every five years.

They would be required to provide: their name, address and telephone number; the manufacturer of the gun, its model type and serial number; and the date and source of the purchase.

Whenever a handgun is sold, the seller would be required to report the sale to the State Police “no less than 48 hours prior to delivery.” Handgun buyers would have 20 days to file for a new certificate of registration. Anyone caught carrying or possessing an unregistered handgun would face a Class 2 felony.

If gun owners cannot afford to pay the $65 fee for each gun they must turn their guns in to local law enforcement for destruction. Punishment for not complying is a Class 2 Felony. How unfortunate for the rest of the good people of Illinois to have the scourge of Chicago in their state. And this fresh on the heels of signing a check for $399,950 to the Second Amendment Foundation after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Chicago’s ban on handguns…because it was unconstitutional.

If you think this is a bummer for the residents of Illinois, just wait. Emanuel, the heart and soul of the first two years of the Obama administration, is tipping Obama’s hand for his second term.

At the CPAC on Friday, NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre had this warning…

NRA official: Obama wants to outlaw guns in 2nd term

The Washington Times

While delivering one of the liveliest and best-received speeches at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre said the president’s low-key approach to gun rights during his first term was “a “conspiracy to ensure re-election by lulling gun owners to sleep.”

“We see the president’s strategy crystal clear: Get re-elected and, with no more elections to worry about, get busy dismantling and destroying our firearms’ freedom, erase the Second Amendment from the Bill of Rights and excise it from the U.S.

Mr. LaPierre said the president's two Supreme Court appointees — Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan— are "two of the most rabid anti-gun justices in history." He also accused Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg of being a foe of gun rights.

And with the possibility of two or more Supreme Court justice positions opening during the next four years, the NRA official warned that gun ownership would be in jeopardy if Mr. Obama stays in office.

"If we get one more like those three, the Second Amendment is finished," he said. "It'll be the end of our freedom forever."

Mr. LaPierre, who said "there is no greater freedom than to own a firearm," predicted that gun owners will rally en masse to defeat Mr. Obama in November.

"All of what we know is good and right about America, all of it could be lost if Barack Obama is re-elected," he said. "It's all or nothing."

Obama is a nightmare for the Second Amendment. He wants to make sure the government and criminals have guns…and the citizens don’t. You can’t have Marxism until you disarm the populace. It looks like the state of Illinois will be the first state to institute Marxism in the Union. Thanks for nothing, Rahm/Chicago. Just wait until Obama’s second term and he gets to appoint two more Supreme Court Justices…Chicago will be the United States.

.

Wild Thing's comment.........

These people refuse to read plain English. “. . . the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED.”

A mandatory fee IS an infringement.

May God help us all if this idiot-in-chief is re-elected.

Cal Thomas: Maddow ‘is the best argument’ for using contraceptives ~ LOL

The culture wars have been as heated as ever over the past few weeks, and participants at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Washington, D.C. on Thursday did not shy away from any of it.

At CPAC’s afternoon “All-Star Panel” on “What to Expect in 2012″ panelist and syndicated conservative columnist Cal Thomas offered his thoughts about MSNBC host Rachel Maddow and the rest of her MSNBC brethren following a clip of Maddow on Meet the Press accusing the Republican Party of “waging a war on contraceptives.”

“Cal, let’s talk about this religious — this is serious, we laugh about it, but this is serious in terms of — if they get away with this — what would happen in a second term? We see a lot of outrage, but if that outrage doesn’t turn to action in November, what are we looking at here?” moderator Genevieve Wood of The Heritage Foundation asked Thomas.

Thomas answered that Maddow herself is actually the best argument in favor of contraceptives.

“Well I’m really glad, Genevieve, that you played the Rachel Maddow clip,” Thomas said, “because I think that she is the best argument in favor of her parents using contraception. I would be all for that, and all of the rest of the crowd at MSNBC, too, for that matter.”

Thomas went on to explain why he believed the decision to mandate contraceptive coverage was troublesome.

“All great inhumanities and outrages start at the fringes,” he said. “So you have the 95-year-old, double brain tumor, sclerotic grandma who has signed a living will and wants the government to kill her — although we won’t call it like that — and that is how euthanasia gets accepted. You have something like this, that is forced into the insurance policies of not only Catholics but any religious institution or even a secular one that may not believe in doing this, it does not matter and it is a wedge issue for them. Once they establish the beachhead as a right to do this, then they will use that as precedent for increasing righteousness.”

According to Thomas, the government has become increasingly power-hungry.

“The government considers itself God now, in case you didn’t know that,” he added. “I think that since it does consider itself God, that it immediately disenfranchises itself from us on the basis of separation of church and state.”

Hahahha love what he said about Rachel Maddow. heh heh

Catholic League’s Bill Donohue on Contraceptive Compromise: Obama Is "Taking the Culture War to the Boiling Point and He Will Pay" (Video)

Catholic League President Bill Donohue shared his reaction to President Obama’s revamping of the contraception policy. He told Alisyn Camerota that he isn’t pleased with this change and feels like Obama is making things worse, asking, “Is this man out of his mind?”

You can get contraception across the street here in NYC or anywhere in the country...

“What [Obama] is trying to do is a political calculation. It will work to some extent, but not as much as they want.” He said, “He is now taking the culture war to the boiling point and he will pay.”

Donohue thinks Obama should have spoken to religious leaders before making this decision.

Senate Dems Break Ranks With Obama On Contraception Mandate, Call Decision “Bone-Headed”

ABC

A handful of Senate Democrats have split with President Obama’s controversial birth-control mandate and slammed the administration’s requirement that church-affiliated employers cover contraceptives.

The five Democrats in the Senate expressing concern about some parts of the administration’s policy include, most recently, Sens. Ben Nelson of Nebraska and Bill Nelson of Florida, who have spoken publicly about their unhappiness with the mandate.

“This was a bone-headed decision by HHS,” Sen. Ben Nelson said of the new Health and Human Services mandates, according to the Nebraska Radio Network.

Nelson agreed with state Attorney General Job Bruning’s decision to file a legal challenge to the mandate.

Florida’s Nelson has also raised concerns. “My position is that church-affiliated organizations should be exempt, not just churches,” Nelson told the Tampa Bay Times Buzz Blog, adding that he has called the White House to express his concerns.

“It’s a matter of religious freedom,” Nelson spokesman Dan McLaughlin told ABC News.

The senators’ statements follow other Democratic senators who voiced concerns this week.

Sen. Joe Lieberman, the independent from Connecticut who caucuses with Democrats, tweeted Wednesday, “I am opposed to the Administration’s new requirement that religious org.’s must offer employees contraception benefits.”

Democratic Sen. Bob Casey of Pennsylvania wrote a letter to President Obama last week calling on him to reverse the new ruling. ”I have strongly supported efforts to provide greater access to contraception,” Casey wrote. “I believe, just as strongly, that religiously affiliated organizations like hospitals and universities should not be compelled by our Federal government to purchase insurance policies that violate their religious and moral convictions.”

Wild Thing's comment......

LOL he is a lot more then boneheaded. I can think of a lot of other things he should be called. But at least the some of the dems are saying that don't like something about this freak.

Gov. Rick Perry Speech at CPAC 2012 – Complete Video 2/9/12

"What 2012 offers us is a chance to offer a starkly different vision for America," he said. "We can't tinker our way to victory. We've got to be bold. We've got to be clear. We must embrace constitutional conservatism."

The audience ate up Perry's remarks, which were delivered with a few minor stutters, giving him multiple standing ovations.

Aides close to the Texas governor suggested after he dropped his presidential bid that he was interested in running for president again in 2016. His broad-strokes speech indicated that idea might still be on his mind.

He said that Republicans lost control of Congress in 2006 not "because of an unpopular war" but because they were spending too much and accepting earmarks.

He went after Obama, and used the controversial Clint Eastwood Super Bowl ad for Chrysler to do it.

"If it's halftime in America I'm fearful of what the final score's going to be if we let this president start the second half as quarterback," he said.

Perry ran through a laundry list of perceived government overreaches. "You ought to be outraged!" he yelled. Members of the audience responded with calls of "We are!"

"You ought to be incensed!" he continued. "You don't have to settle this election … you have the power, and more important you have the Constitution on your side."

Perry finished by calling on the audience to "take our country back."

Gov. Rick Perry on Whether He Might Run for President Again: “Oh Sure. . . . Ronald Reagan Wasn’t Successful the First Time He Ran”

Senate Democrats Say Obama ‘Reinforced’ His Stance on Contraception Mandate at Democratic Retreat

Senate Democrats Say Obama ‘Reinforced’ His Stance on Contraception Mandate at Democratic Retreat

ABC News

Obama Promises Dems to Keep Boot on Neck of Catholic Church

Barack Obama promised fellow democrats today in a closed door meeting that he would continue to keep his boot on the neck of the Catholic Church of America.

Obama “reinforced” his stance on the controversial contraception mandate while speaking at the Democrats’ annual retreat at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. today, Senate Democrats said.

The retreat was closed to media.

Following President Obama’s speech at the retreat, a small group of Senate Democrats, mostly women, left the retreat early in order to hold a news conference on Capitol Hill to counter the Republicans’ news conference today at which they called for the mandate to be overturned.

Democrats said they will “fight strongly” to keep the mandate in place.

“It is our clear understanding from the administration that the president believes as we do, and the vast majority of the American women should have access to birth control,” Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., said pointing out that 15 percent of women use birth control for medical issues. “It’s medicine, and women deserve their medicine.”

Wild Thing's comment......

I don't know what it will take to make those still for Obama to wake up. The worst part is seeing those that love what he has done since he was sworn in. To know people like that exist in our beloved country makes me sick.

Classless Newt Gingrich Would Not Congratulate Romney Win and NOW WILL NOT Congratulate Santorum On His Win Tuesday

Newt Gingrich, mum on losses, looking South

Washington Post

CLEVELAND, Ohio—Newt Gingrich, speaking to workers Wednesday morning at a manufacturing plant here had exactly nothing to say about Tuesday night’s contests.

Republican presidential candidate, former House speaker Newt Gingrich. He didn’t say a word about the how and why of his losses, nor did he mention his rivals.

He didn’t refer to Mitt Romney as a “Massachusetts moderate.” Nor did he cast Rick Santorum as a sort of junior member of Congress, who couldn’t do big things.

In his 12-minute speech at Jergen, a metal plant, it was as if Tuesday never happened.

Gingrch lost badly in three contests, ceding the conversation, energy and the momentum to Santorum who pulled off an upset in Colorado, and won handily in Missouri and Minnesota.

During his two-day bus tour, Gingrich, who pledged to run a more ideas-based campaign, gave his standard speech, weaving together the history of the Wright Brothers, Ronald Reagan, and the raft of executive orders he would sign on day one of his administration

Wild Thing's comment......

Totally classless Newt Gingrich refuses to even congratulate Santorum. Newt would not congratulate Romney either and now Santorum apparently joins Newts hate list....hmmmm shades of Obama.... no class and has a hate list.

RNC Committee Chairman Reince Priebus:"Obama Shows 'Remarkable Disdain' For Religious Liberty "

Reince Priebus: Obama shows 'remarkable disdain' for religious liberty

In an op-ed in POLITICO, Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus takes the Obama administration to task over the decision to require religious employers to provide contraception coverage:

"The Obama administration shows a remarkable disdain for the Constitution. From the unconstitutional individual mandate to unconstitutional political appointments, no clause seems sacred to President Barack Obama. Sadly, that now includes even the freedom of religion — the first right enshrined in the Bill of Rights.

We now know the finer details of the Department of Health and Human Services decree that would force religious institutions to violate long-held beliefs on the sanctity of life. The administration’s actions are unconscionable and offensive to people of faith — most notably the Roman Catholic Church, which will feel the greatest effect.

More troubling still is the big picture. If the federal bureaucracy can so easily cast aside the First Amendment in pursuit of a specific health policy, what else can it ignore at a whim? What will be sacrificed next at the altar of Big Government?

Wild Thing's comment.......

He is absolutely right. This RNC chairman has been really good lately speaking out about Obama. He was also on the Sunday monring political talk shows blasting away at Obama and did a great job. I was impressed and we have had a long time sincie we saw an RNC chairman do anything like that.

Rick Perry Says He Has "Plenty of Fight" Left

Rick Perry Says He Has "Plenty of Fight" Left

"I just went home, rearmed, reloaded my mags and I'm going to be fighting on a different front" ~ Governor Rick Perry

Texas Tribune

and interview

Gov. Rick Perry re-emerged in the national spotlight tonight, offering his first post-presidential primary interview to Fox News.

He told correspondent Shannon Bream that looking back, he regrets not getting into the race "substantially sooner."

"I don't govern by polls. I've been low in the polls before," he said.

First lady Anita Perry also appeared in the interview. She confirmed the pair is open to another run at national office.

What will she do differently next time?

"Prepare better, more debate prep. I'd do it all over again. I hope he will," she said.

“I’m not slipping off into the sunset. I’m not riding off into the west,” Perry told Republican activists in Round Rock. “We’ve got plenty of work to do right here in the state of Texas. And I got plenty of fight left in this old 61-year-old body.”

It was Perry’s first public appearance since pulling of out the presidential race on Jan. 19. He was treated to a hero’s welcome — including two standing ovations — at the event, a fundraiser for the Republican Party of Williamson County.

Perry, who had never lost an election before, leaned on the sports culture of Texas A&M University, his alma mater, to explain what happened to him in the 2012 race. Aggies don’t like to use terms like “lose” or “defeat.”

“We just ran out of time,” Perry said. “I’m not used to running out of time.”

The governor said he would remain engaged in the fight against what he sees as federal overreach and the “misguided socialist policies from President Obama.”

“This movement is bigger than any one man or woman,” Perry said. “It goes forward at a ballot box near you in 2012."

Perry said he would continue to promote Texas nationally as a “beacon of responsible conservative governance.”

He travels to Washington this week to address the Conservative Political Action Conference, or CPAC, and he will serve as the Republican speaker at the spring dinner of the Gridiron Club and Foundation in Washington in late March.

Perry hasn’t ruled out running again for governor in 2014 — or for president again, perhaps in 2016.

“I’d do it all over again,” Texas first lady Anita Perry said in an interview on Fox News that aired Monday. “I hope he will.” The governor said in the same interview that if he could change anything about the 2012 race he would have gotten in the race “substantially sooner.”

Republican leaders are doing their best to give Perry a Texas-size welcome back home. Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst, who introduced Perry on Monday night, borrowed a few lines from Theodore Roosevelt, who once hailed the kind of man who “fails while daring greatly.”

“He’s back,” Dewhurst said of the governor. “And he’s stronger.”

.

People Stunned By Newt Gingrich's Post-Nevada Speech Last Saturday: ‘This Is What Flailing Looks Like’

Fox News Channel analysts seemed stunned by Newt Gingrich’s post-Nevada speech Saturday, calling it everything from “not pretty” to a “very strange event.”

“For a political analyst I think this will be remembered as one of the most remarkable moments of the entire 2012 election,” The Hill’s A.B. Stoddard said. “He came out and wandered into the minutiae about petty complaints…he was in the weeds. It was a very, very strange event.”

Charles Krauthammer said Gingrich’s speech represented “the best of Newt and the worst of Newt” — describing what he called President Barack Obama’s attack on religious institutions and defending freedom in the country was good, but his attacks on rival Mitt Romney, who won the state handily, were “astonishing.”

Bill Kristol of the Weekly Standard was perplexed by Gingrich’s reference to Nevada as a “heavily Mormon state,“ calling it ”an odd statement” for him to make, and said he was “being a political analyst, not the candidate.”

“This is what flailing looks like,” Weekly Standard writer Stephen Hayes summed up. “This was not a pretty performance I think by Newt Gingrich….He makes these arguments that undermine the rationale for his own campaign. He says ‘well, Mitt Romney was dishonest on the stage next to me.‘ What does he think Barack Obama’s going to be? ‘I was outspent.‘ What does he think Barack Obama’s going to do?”

Wild Thing's comment......

I agree with everything they said about his speech. It was also embarassing as a conservative to hear his whine and also his lies.

Retired Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor Slam Dunks Newt Gingrich Which He Deserves!

The Blaze

Retired Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor attended the annual elite Alfalfa Club dinner in Washington last Saturday. Reporters weren’t allowed into the event, but according to the Washington Post, she was overheard commenting on the two front-runners of the Republican presidential primary.

“One is a practicing polygamist, and he’s not even the Mormon,” she said.

STING. to Newt Gingrich

I’ll remind you that Newt Gingrich has had three wives and been accused by one of wanting an open marriage. Mitt Romney, on the other hand, is a Mormon and has only had one wife whom he’s still married to.

Wild Thing's comment.........

LOL clever commnet by her and right on target.....well Newt asked for it. He better not speak about character on the campaign traiil, not with his record.

Mitt Romney's Search For Melissa ~ A Must Read If You Are A Voter

Mitt’s Search For Melissa

Editor's Note: This is an update to the story we originally ran last year about Mitt Romney's involvement in the search for 14-year old Melissa Gay, the daughter of his colleague, Robert Gay.

An Excerpt from “Romney to the Rescue,” by Ronald Kessler (NewsMax Magazine)

Mitt Romney was faced with a crisis in July 1996. The 14-year-old daughter of Robert Gay, a partner in Romney’s new venture capital firm, Bain Capital, had disappeared. As it turned out, she had attended a rave party in New York City and had become high on ecstasy. Three days later, her distraught father had no idea where she was.

Romney took immediate action. He closed down the entire firm and asked all 30 partners and employees to fly to New York to try to find Gay’s daughter.

Romney set up a command center in a conference room at the LaGuardia Marriott just outside Manhattan. He hired a private detective firm to assist with the search and established a toll-free number for tips, coordinating the effort with the New York City Police Department, but he still wasn’t satisfied. He raced through his Rolodex and called everyone Bain did business with in New York. He asked them to help his company find their friend’s missing daughter.

The company’s accounting firm, Price-Waterhouse Cooper, and its law firm, put up posters on street poles with a photo of the missing teenager. Cashiers at Duane Reade Pharmacies, which was owned by Bain Capital, put fliers in the bag of each shopper.

Romney and others from the Bain Capital posse trudged through every part of New York, even scouring Central Park, and talked with everyone they could – prostitutes, drug addicts – anyone who may have seen her. They also made rounds at the local nightclubs at 3 a.m., hoping someone somewhere could identify her.

The same day the Romney team came to New York, the hunt made the evening news. Television cameras showed photos of the girl and video of investment banker types prowling through Central Park.

The next day, a teenage boy she was with phoned in. He asked if there was a reward. But the boy got nervous and quickly hung up. Luckily, the police traced the call to a home in Montville Township, N.J.

Gay’s daughter, when they found her in the basement of that home, was shivering through detox after a massive dose of ecstasy. Doctors later told Gay that he was indeed fortunate – his daughter probably would not have lasted another day.

“It was the most amazing thing, and I’ll never forget this to the day I die,” Gay says, adding of Romney’s intervention, “I’m not sure we would have gotten her back without him.”

It is often during a crisis that we gain insight into a person’s real character. Romney’s action demonstrated leadership, loyalty, and selflessness – attributes that Americans just might like to see in a president of the United States.

More from newsmax.....

People say that Mitt Romney lights up a room. But there are all kinds of ways to light up a room - fluorescent, neon, sunlight, strobe. Romney alternates between sparkle and a warm, steady glow. He is not in your face. He is low-key, self-assured, and self-contained, with a sunny, positive disposition. On his desk he has a desk plate that states "America Is Never Stuck."

Sounding like a television character from the 1950s, he is not self-conscious about saying "gosh" or "my goodness."

Continue HERE if you like........

.

Wild Thing's comment........

This stroy impressed me about Romney and I thought you might like to read it as well. The way he handled the situation about the man's daughter speaks volumes about Romney's character.

Romney Wins Nevada Causus, Santorum Says He Will Win Nomination and Newt Continues To Attack Romney

.

CNN Reporter: Do You Feel You Have a Realistic Path? Santorum: "Oh, I Expect To Win the Nomination"

.

Billionaire Sheldon Adelson, Who Is Backing Gingrich Relays Assurances To Romney Camp That He Will Support The Governor Should He Become the Nominee

LAS VEGAS — Sheldon Adelson, the billionaire casino executive keeping Newt Gingrich’s presidential hopes alive, has relayed assurances to Mitt Romney that he will provide even more generous support to his candidacy if he becomes the Republican nominee, several associates said in interviews here.

The signals from Mr. Adelson, whose politics are shaped in large part by his support for Israel, reflect what the associates said was his deep investment in defeating President Obama and his willingness to play a more prominent role in the Republican Party and conservative causes.

Several people who have spoken with Mr. Adelson over the past two weeks said he would most likely continue to help the group as long as Mr. Gingrich remained in the race. But, they said, he is concerned that additional deep-pocketed donors have not joined him. And, they said, his affection for and loyalty to Mr. Gingrich, who met with him here on Friday, have not blinded him to the reality that the nominating contest is tilting in Mr. Romney’s favor.

“He saw a friend who needed and wanted help,” said an associate who talks to Mr. Adelson regularly, speaking on the condition of anonymity to avoid upsetting him. “I don’t think it’s likely that he’s going to fund Newt’s death march to Tampa,” the site of the Republican National Convention, “but if there is a realistic perception that he can help make his candidacy viable, he will.”

Mr. Adelson declined to be interviewed.

Good For Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval

CARSON CITY, Nev. -- Don't mistake Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval's invitations to the Republican presidential contenders as anything more than a hospitable gesture. The governor is staying out of the nomination fight despite his rising stature in the GOP – or perhaps because of it.

Sandoval has invited the candidates to his office this week as they campaign ahead of Saturday's caucuses. If they make the trip to Carson City, the four – Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul and Rick Santorum – can count on a smile and a firm handshake but no public stamp of approval.

"There isn't a candidate that wouldn't love to have his support, that's for sure," said Bob List, state Republican committeeman and a former Nevada governor who endorsed Ronald Reagan in 1980.

Sandoval was quick to endorse Texas Gov. Rick Perry in this year's presidential race, only to see him drop out last month after dismal showings in Iowa and New Hampshire.

Now, Sandoval is pledging his "full support" to whomever wins the party nomination. And he has recorded an automated phone message urging Nevada Republicans to vote in the caucuses – for any of the candidates.

.

Wild Thing's comment........

Gov. Sandoval had endorsed Rick Perry for President back in September. He has chosen not to endorse anyone that is left in the campaign. Good for himl, Our Gov. Rick Scott did no tendorse anyone either and I was glad. Gov. Scott is friends with Perry so I iimagine after Perry got out of the race Gov. Scott probably thought it better not to endorse anyone. Maybe the same thing with Nevada Gov. Sandoval.

Arrogant To The Max ...Newt Gingrich Tells Las Vegas Crowd He Will ‘Win The Nomination’

Gingrich Tells Las Vegas Crowd He Will ‘Win The Nomination’

Las Vegas Sun Newspaper

With less than 24 hours to go before caucus time, Newt Gingrich stood in a Las Vegas bar and told voters not just why they should vote for him, but that if they voted for him he could win.

“Come join us,” Gingrich said. “Tell every friend you’ve got: You go to the caucus and speak up for a people’s campaign ... with your help, together, we will win the nomination and we will then win the election.”

Electability has been a recurring question, especially for Gingrich, who has trailed Romney by at least 20 points in the Nevada polls. In his past few campaign appearances, he has looked like he’s feeling the weight of those numbers.

But whether it was the excited fans, the professional lighting, the presence of his wife, Callista, or the mechanical bull — which he didn’t ride — 30 feet away, Gingrich appeared re-energized for the final campaign push — even joking with some supporters that they looked like they’d been in the bar “since last night.”

Wild Thing's comment......

Yikes....oh my gosh. I don't think I would say this if I was trying to get people to vote for me. hahahaha

2012 Nevada Caucus Today

Nevada will head to caucus sites on Saturday to choose their preferred 2012 GOP nominee.

RENO, NV – After watching all the debates and contests in Iowa, New Hampshire and Florida, it’s finally Nevada’s turn in the political spotlight. Our moment will be brief, but at least 50,000 Nevada Republicans are expected to show up at caucus locations around the state Saturday and make their choices.

For first time participants it can be confusing. A caucus is not a primary. The government's election apparatus plays no part. It is organized and run by the political parties.

By definition it is a meeting of local members of a national party with two major functions, selecting delegates to a convention and registering preference for candidates. Both will be addressed at this Saturday's caucus, but all the attention will be on that second duty. It's called a presidential preference poll.

Unlike the Democrats, Republican officials rejected the idea of same day registration, so, in order to take part, you must have been a registered Republican by January 20th.

Pelosi Vows to Stand With Obama Against Catholic Church & Religious Freedom

Pelosi Vows to Stand With Obama Against Catholic Church; Says Decision Forcing Catholics to Act Against Faith Was ‘Very Courageous’

CNSNews

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D.-Calif.) vowed today that she will join with the Obama administration in standing up against the Catholic Church in defending a new regulation that will require Catholic individuals to buy, and Catholic institutions to provide, health insurance plans that cover sterilizations and artificial contraceptives, including those that induce abortions.

The Catholic church teaches that sterilization, artificial contraception and abortion are morally wrong and the Catholic bishops of the United States have argued that forcing a Catholic individual to purchase a health insurance plan that covers these things–or forcing a Catholic institution to provide such a plan–forces Catholics to act against their consciences and is a violation of the First Amendment right to free exercise of religion.

In letters being read from the pulpit in Catholic parishes across the nation, Catholic bishops are saying: “We cannot—we will not—comply with this unjust law.”

QUESTION:
“The administration has issued a regulation that will require all healthcare plans to cover sterilization and all FDA approved contraceptives including those that induce abortions. This will force Catholic individuals and institutions to act against their consciences. All across the nation..”

PELOSI:
“Is this a speech or do we have a question disguised as speech?”

QUESTION:
We cannot and will not comply with this law.

Will you stand with your fellow Catholics in opposing this law?

PELOSI:
I’m going to stand with my fellow Catholics in supporting the administration on this. I think it was a very courageous decision that they made and I support it.

Wild Thing's comment......

We have truly evil people in power. We cannot let them get another 4 years, it will only get worse.

Notice how Pelosi changes the words the reporter asked her ....from opposing to supporting. What an outright lie!!!

Rep. Ann Marie Buerkle (R-NY) To Eric Holder: ‘How Many More’ Agents Have To Die ‘For You To Take Responsibility?’

The highlight of the exchanges today between members of the House Oversight Committee and Attorney General Eric Holder came when Rep. Ann Marie Buerkle (R-NY) was given her time to question the Attorney General regarding his responsibility in Operation Fast & Furious. The Congresswoman showed no patience for Holder's stuttering or dodging of questions and at one point said, "Excuse me, sir, my time is ticking."

Wild Thing's comment.......

Good for Rep. Ann Marie Buerkle! Holder could care less what has happened, remorse does not exist in the soul of Holder or Obama. .

Gingrich Whines About Florida Winner Take All ( Delegates) Wants Delegates From Romney! ~ What a Jerk Newt is!

Carl Cameron reports that the Florida primary may not be over. Under the Republican National Committee rules, no state can be winner take all until after April 1, which Florida was. Fox News has learned that tomorrow, the Gingrich campaign will send a Florida campaign official to look into the issue and see if they can get the rules enforced that prevent the state from being winner takes all and require that the delegates be divided proportionally. That could give Gingrich delegates from the state.

Wild Thing's comment........

So Newt is going to try and have the GOP of Floirda give him some hand outs of delegates. Newt the handout rino.
You can't win Newt but you will beg, borrow and steal delegates instead. sheesh

Senator Jim DeMint on Mitt Romney

.E. Cupp and the Blaze panel sat down with Senator Jim DeMint during Thursday’s “Real News From The Blaze” to discuss the 2012 election, particularly Romney’s success with Tea Partiers in the Florida Primary. Of Romney, DeMint said, “he showed that he could stand tough” in Florida and “that’s what made the difference in my mind.”

“I‘m glad we dispelled this myth that Tea Partiers won’t support Romney.”

When asked if he thinks the Tea Party’s credibility will be tested this election, DeMint suggested that there is no one candidate that fits the Tea Party because the Tea Party comprises so many different small groups around the country — from Libertarians to disaffected Democrats to conservatives and Independents.

.

Wild Thing's comment.......

Interesting. DeMint is not endorseing anyone. I have heard him say he will only be working to get the other elections to elect a Republican and feels it would not help to pick out one presidential candidate.

Gingrich Predicts GOP Race Will Last 6 More Months

Gingrich delivering a defiant speech in the wake of a distant second place finish to Mitt Romney. Gingrich never congratulated Romney on his victory in Florida, but instead made it clear he intends to fight Romney in every state.

Newt Gingrich said to his crowd of supporters in Florida last night:

“I will be back in Florida, as the Republican nominee in August.” He even said that the only way that the race will end much before August’s Republican National Convention in Tampa is if front-runner Mitt Romney drops out.”

.

Wild Thing's comment.....

I am so glad Romney beat Newt. Not being a big fan of either of most of their politics, but Newt truly disgusts me. augh.Newt = Low class, self absorbed, egomaniac.

At least Romney has some good character traits when it comes to some areas that Newt is lacking big time.
