Taliban Spokesman A Yale Student
Jihadi Turns Bulldog
Opinion Journal .....entire article
The Taliban's former spokesman is now a Yale student. Anyone see a problem with that?
Never has an article made me blink with astonishment as much as when I read in yesterday's New York Times magazine that Sayed Rahmatullah Hashemi, former ambassador-at-large for the Taliban, is now studying at Yale on a U.S. student visa. This is taking the obsession that U.S. universities have with promoting diversity a bit too far.
Something is very wrong at our elite universities. Last week Larry Summers resigned as president of Harvard when it became clear he would lose a no-confidence vote held by politically correct faculty members furious at his efforts to allow ROTC on campus, his opposition to a drive to have Harvard divest itself of corporate investments in Israel, and his efforts to make professors work harder. Now Yale is giving a first-class education to an erstwhile high official in one of the most evil regimes of the latter half of the 20th century--the government that harbored the terrorists who attacked America on Sept. 11, 2001.
"In some ways," Mr. Rahmatullah told the New York Times. "I'm the luckiest person in the world. I could have ended up in Guantanamo Bay. Instead I ended up at Yale." One of the courses he has taken is called Terrorism-Past, Present and Future.
Many foreign readers of the Times will no doubt snicker at the revelation that naive Yale administrators scrambled to admit Mr. Rahmatullah. The Times reported that Yale "had another foreigner of Rahmatullah's caliber apply for special-student status." Richard Shaw, Yale's dean of undergraduate admissions, told the Times that "we lost him to Harvard," and "I didn't want that to happen again."
And look at this too from the article..............
As for Osama bin Laden, Mr. Rahmatullah called the Saudi fugitive a "guest" of his government and said it hadn't been proved that bin Laden was linked to any terrorist acts, despite his indictment in the U.S. for planning the 1998 bombings of the U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania. He said that if the embassy bombings were terrorist acts, then so was the Clinton administration's firing cruise missiles into his country in an attempt to kill bin Laden. "You killed 19 innocent people," he told us.
.
Wild Thing's comment.......
In order to get a student visa, the person has to have an I-20 from a school or university, a document that says that he has been accepted to study there.
Yale issued the Taliban ambassador that I-20, and the State Department issued the student visa.

How About A New Muslim Holiday: Islam's Extinction
It's Time to Put Muslim Holidays in US Calendars
By Jane Jewell
Al-Jazeerah, February 25, 2006
Dear Muslims in America,
May I suggest that it is time you got yourselves established as part of the American Way of Life, and not people of a religion that belongs to ‘them’ and not to ‘us’.
I have been sending the following email to various calendar makers. You may like to do the same and get your holidays included in the 2007 calendars.
I have noticed that many calendars in the USA list the Christian and the Jewish holidays, but not the Muslim ones.
As there are now 8 million Muslims in the USA, exceeding the 6 million Jews, Islam is now the second most popular religion in the USA, after Christianity.
I feel that their holidays should also be included in the yearly calendars.
Here is the list of Muslim Holidays that could be included on 2007 calendars.
BTW, if you are wondering why the dates of the Muslim Holidays are 10 or 11 days earlier each year, it is because they follow the lunar year, which is about 355 days.
So the dates for 2007 will not work for 2008!
Look forward to hearing from you.
Jane Jewell,
‘14 friends of Palestine, Marin’, founder.
Jane and Chris Jewell [mailto:jewellcj@jewellfamily.com]
Her suggestions are:
Muharram (Islamic New Year)
Mawlid Al-Nabi (Muhammad's Birthday)
Ramadan begins
Eid Al-Fitr (Ramadan ends)
Eid Al-Adha (Festival of Sacrifice)
.
Wild Thing's comment.....
There must be a mistake with the article. I noticed some ommissions ---
~National Beheading the Infidel Day - many separate days during a year.
~Taking off the Burka Day - December 1st -Done once per year for bathing behind locked doors.
~Love your Goat! Day - Coincides with first day of spring.
~National Week of Martyrs - Always first full week of every month.
~Blow up your kids Day - celebrating how well unloved children of Islam learn how to be suicide bombers
~Family Rock Throwing Day - Ah, this is another daily day kind of thing, never mind...

Where The Buffalo Roam

.
February 27, 2006
BAQUBAH, Iraq --
What sane people would go out looking for bombs? Members of Company C, 14th Engineer Battalion, 101st Airborne Division, Task Force Band of Brothers do. Nicknamed the Trailblazers, it is their job to hunt down improvised explosive devices on the roads from Forward Operating Base Warhorse to FOB Normandy and FOB Gabe. The mood at the command post is light and full of laughter during the brief before the start of a mission. It’s not that the men don’t take the job seriously, they do with the utmost precision.
Laughter and jokes are key to keeping morale up. Without a light atmosphere, tension would fill the room and we would not be able to focus on our jobs, said Sgt. John Reese, vehicle commander RG-31, Co. C, 14th Engineer Battalion, 101st Airborne Division, Task Force Band of Brothers.
Reese heavily believes in the Buddhist philosophy of Karma. He believes it is part of the reason that has kept him alive during this deployment. He is usually the instigator of cracking jokes to alleviate the tension during the mission. On his downtime, Reese watches a lot of movies, sometimes never coming out of his room. One of his favorite movies is EuroTrip. He playfully ended each response to questions for this interview with "you still can’t touch my camera!," a popular quote from the movie.
The Trailblazers are attached to 101st Airborne Division from their home station in Fort Lewis, Wash., and are on loan to 3rd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division.
Their main weapon in the IED fight is the Buffalo, a vehicle manufactured in South Africa is nicknamed the "Cadillac" of the road for its spacious interior and reclining seats.
The Buffalo uses its arm to interrogate suspected IEDs along the route.
"We don’t try and detonate the IED, the arm is used to confirm the IED -- think of it like a big extended arm similar to the one used on the space shuttle," said Sgt. James Brown, team leader, Co. C, 14th Engineer Battalion, 101st Airborne Division.
Brown then looks suspicious things in the area. Most IEDs are remote detonated and on occasion explode while being confirmed.
"I have been hit in the Buffalo. As a company we have found more than 50 IEDs in a three-and-a-half month span," Brown said.
The other Trailblazer vehicle that is used is the RG-31. It is also made in South Africa. It is more of a combat oriented vehicle like a Humvee, with mounts for weapons and portholes for Soldiers to shoot out. It houses a remote controlled robot that can roll up to a suspected IED and detonate the bomb if needed, just like in the movies.
2nd Lt. Alexander Dorko, Second Platoon leader, Co. C, 14th Engineer Battalion, 101st Airborne Division, recently joined the Trailblazers and marveled at the insurgents resourcefulness of coming up with new ways of hiding bombs.
"Most insurgent activity tends to be at night. It is easier for the insurgents to plant IEDs under the cover of darkness," Dorko said.
It is no secret the insurgents have been using dead animals to hide IEDs, but now they are starting to use IEDs with pressure wires, Dorko said. When you hold the device in your hand to examine, it looks like someone spent a lot of time and effort in constructing this bomb, they are definitely getting more advanced.
When the Trailblazers first arrived in Iraq they were shown signs in Arabic that read "kill the claw." Insurgents would like nothing more than to take down Trailblazer, it would be a big prize for them.
Driving around with a bull’s-eye on your vehicle gives you a more heightened sense of awareness. You think to yourself, I better find this IED before it finds me, Brown said.
Though the job is dangerous and comes with a high amount of stress, Brown is upbeat about the mission he and his team are performing.
"We are blazing these trails or roads looking for bombs and insuring mobility for other units," he said. "It is not reality to keep everything off the road, but we are doing the best we can."

New York Times At It Again

From the NYT basicallly they are saying.........Do Not Help the U.S.
In a startling breach of international etiquette, the New York Times today warned foreign intelligence services not to assist the United States. The warning was backed by public disclosure of highly secretive assistance provided to the U.S. military on the eve of the Iraq War.
"German intelligence services helped the United States invade Baghdad, and will now pay the price," the Times effectively told intelligence services worldwide. As it has in the past, the Times published classified information to bolster its latest attack on U.S. interests.
Foreign intelligence services are now on notice that the so-called "newspaper of record" intends to publicize their interactions with counterparts in the United States, despite any assurances of secrecy.
The Times also warned Middle Eastern leaders that it will disclose any surreptitious help they might provide.
"[Egyptian President] Mubarak quietly allowed United States aerial refueling tankers to be based at an Egyptian airfield," the Times revealed. Such assistance is often a delicate matter for leaders in the region, who in the past have relied on U.S. assurances of secrecy when undertaking actions which might expose them to domestic embarrassment and possible assassination.
The government of Saudi Arabia was another "silent partner," the Times revealed, allowing Delta Force and other American Special Operations Forces to mount attacks in Iraq from a secret base at Arar. Saudi leaders have so far remained silent on the Times' disclosure of their involvement.

Storm the White House ~ From The Crazies

.
Multi-Day Event, Beginning March 15, come when you can and stay as long as you can - we are taking over the White House until they leave. Torture, Occupation, Genocide - Must End Now.Wednesday, March 15th 2006 12:00 AM
Washington, DC USA
TAKE THE WHITE HOUSE BY STORM - Stop Genocide, Torture and Occupation
U.N. SOS - We need your help to end the reign of international criminals.
It is our duty and the duty of the United Nations to rescue the people of the world from the U.S. dictators. Murder for occupation and theft of land is illegal. Murder of journalists is criminal. Remove the traitors who have stolen the U.S. budget and used it to commit international crimes against humanity.
If we were being bombed and our journalists were being murdered here in the U.S. by a foreign country's military, we would hope that the people of that country would stop what they are doing and go to their president's office and demand that it was stopped. If we were the ones burying thousands and thousands of our family members and watching the destruction of the homes, schools, churches and offices that we had worked for decades to build, we would hope that someone, somewhere would care enough to do something for us. We must stop the criminals in our government NOW. There is no meeting with Congress that is going to change what they are doing. We must put the power of the people into action and stay there until they leave!
Inviting everyone to the White House for a protest rally to show that we do not accept the criminal government, illegal wars and the permanent occupation planned for Iraq and Afghanistan. For Nat Turner, For Martin and Coretta, For all the Torture and Assassination in Afghanistan, Iraq, Haiti and many others - We will not allow the Slave Holders that Still Prevail in this Country to Rule us any longer. Imprisonment and torture based on race, religion, resources or region is no different than the slavery we sought to abolish years ago. The Administration is Criminal and if they will not step down, we must storm in, show them how many of us do not accept a criminal government. How can we stand by and watch them kill our brothers, sisters, journalists and friends for their dollars?
We are calling on all citizens and governments in every country to stand with us. We are calling on all Member Nations of the U.N.; All Representatives and Justices in the World Court and International Criminal Courts; All Human Rights Advocates; All Soldiers and CIA agents and government officials who have been blackmailed or are in fear of the dictators to join us in ending this reign of corporate terror in our government. The World Criminal Courts need to incarcerate Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld for admitted crimes and known crimes of international scope. The Political Cooperative will put a new, temporary government in place that is comprised of people from Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and all the organizations that have finally made us aware of the truth of the savage practices and illegal policies of our government in assassinating our own officials as well as people throughout the world who oppose their criminal activity. We need all of you to save U.S. victims and global victims from their ongoing criminal activity. We are calling on the military, police, citizens and religious organizations to stand with us and help us to bring democracy back to the United States and by doing so, free the world from the wrath, occupation, theft, torture, blackmail and assassination by the Criminals in the United States Government. What they have done all over the world is much worse than what Saddam Hussein has done, so why are they not in jail too? They have admitted to international and national crimes, so why have they not been taken to Court too?

Wild Thing's comment.....
This is an like an act of sedition and they are declaring war on the US government. But since they are left-wing, anti-American, fascist, pig faced, Nazi democrats nothing will be done.
But I can wish anyway that everyone of these scumbags is thrown in jail, then put on a ship and transported out of here to some third world country and left to rot ! Or how about 50 caliber Browning machine guns on HUMVEES that would be more appropriate at this point. And a few Abram tanks.
Here ya go if our Government wanted to honor this:

Not Good To Feed The Wolf At The Door
OK, let's start with this news.............
US will fund Hamas Authority after all
After adamantly vowing to deny American funding to the Hamas terrorist organization, Washington at the weekend backtracked by saying it will not halt aid to the Palestinian Authority, but will merely attempt to redirect it to humanitarian works.
The Seattle Times quoted visiting US State Department envoy David Welch following his meeting with PA official in Ramallah:
"Washington continues] to be devoted to the humanitarian
needs of the Palestinian people and we shall remain so."
Israel immediately recognized the scheme as doomed to failure, reported Israel's Yediot Ahronot Hebrew daily.
Senior government officials like Defense Minister Sha'ul Mofaz and Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni warned that even money placed directly in the hands of PLO chief Mahmoud Abbas is likely to end up in Hamas' pockets.
And then of course this.... same day
Hamas leader lists terms for recognizing Israel
JERUSALEM-
The Palestinian prime minister-designate said Hamas is "ready to recognize" Israel if it gives the Palestinian people their full rights and a state in lands occupied since 1967, including the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
Hamas chose Ismail Haniyeh as the new prime minister and he said......
"If Israel declares that it will give the Palestinian people a state
and give them back all their rights, then we are ready to recognize
them," Haniyeh told The Washington Post
"Let Israel say it will recognize a Palestinian state along the 1967 borders, release the prisoners and recognize the rights of the refugees to return to Israel. Hamas will have a position if this occurs," Haniyeh said.
I have said hundreds of times...........Arabs Lie, Lie, lie . They do not honor contracts and can never ever be trusted.
Now look at the lastest Bullcrap
Haniyeh says he wants truce, not peace with Israel-I did not say anything about recognizing Israel.
He says he was Misquoted!
Haniyeh: 'Washington Post' misquoted
The Palestinians' incoming prime minister on Sunday said Hamas has no intention of seeking a peace agreement with Israel, distancing himself from a published interview in which he said the group is ready for a deal.
Ismail Haniyeh said Hamas is interested in a long-term truce, but does not seek peace with Israel. "I did not say anything about recognizing Israel," Haniyeh said.
Addressing reporters Sunday, Haniyeh said his comments had been misunderstood. He said he was not referring to a peace agreement, only a "political truce."
He also laid down a series of demands that Israel has ruled out, including a full withdrawal from all lands captured in 1967, the release of Palestinian prisoners and the return of several million Palestinian refugees and their descendants to Israel. "Then Hamas can grant a long-term truce," Haniyeh said.
Hamas leader Mahmoud Zahar said his movement would not cave in to pressure to recognize Israel. "Why should we recognize Israel?" he asked. "Has Israel recognized the Palestinian people or the right of return for the refugees?"
.
Oriana Fallaci, an Italian journalist, who is one of the few journalists in the world who dares to attack Islam and the fact that Europe has surrendered to terror, wrote a passage in her book Apocalypse that is appropriate for the struggle against the Arab enemy, and for the struggle against Islam.

"Resignation leads to apathy. Apathy leads to inertia. Inertia leads to indifference. Indifference paralyzes the instinct for self-defense, that is, the instinct to fight back."
.
Wild Thing's comment....
I hope we do NOT give more money to the Palestinians. When one feeds the wolf one should have enough common sense to expect to be bitten. And I am concerned that Israel and America will be biten big time.

Lynne Stewart Needs To Get The Maximum Sentence
Yesterday was the 13th anniversary of the bombing of the World Trade Center parking garage on February 26, 1993, in which 6 Americans died (7 including an unborn baby carried by one of the adult victims) and over 1,000 were injured.
The mastermind of the bombing, Ramzi Yousef, was convicted in 1998 and will spend the rest of his life in prison. The spiritual leader of the Islamic Jihad-associated terrorists who conducted the bombing, Sheik Omar Abdel-Rahman, was also convicted in connection with the bombings and is also serving a life sentence without parole.
A small stone memorial in honor of the victims of the 1993 bombing was erected in the WTC and was destroyed in the 9/11/01 attacks (pictured). Link
On February 10, 2005, radical leftist attorney Lynne Stewart was convicted of helping the terrorists by smuggling messages of violence from one of her imprisoned clients -- the radical Egyptian sheik behind the 1993 WTC Bombing-- to his terrorist disciples on the outside.
ON MARCH 10, 2006, LYNNE STEWART WILL BE SENTENCED. YOU CAN HELP LYNNE RECEIVE THE MAXIMUM SENTENCE ALLOWED FOR HER CRIMES AGAINST AMERICA BUT YOU GOTTA DO IT NOW!!!!!!
Lynn Stewart was convicted of providing material support, through a press conference and allowing access by her translator, to a terrorist conspiracy to kill persons outside of the United States and conspiring to defraud the U.S. government when acting as counsel to Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman, the blind Egyptian cleric who was convicted in 1996 of plotting terrorist attacks against various sites in the New York City area.

Lynn was recorded bragging about her skills as an actress which she used to fool the prison guards into believing she was a lawyer instead of a terrorist, saying, "I can get an award for it" which was translated to the Sheikh: "She is saying, Your Eminence, that she can get an award for acting (all three laugh).
"The September 11 terrorist attacks on America were an "armed struggle" like Hiroshima and Dresden. I have a lot of trouble figuring out why that is wrong, especially when people are placed in a position of having no other way." Lynne Stewart
That's just the tip of the iceberg. This woman is truly an enemy of America. In her own words:
"I don't have any problem with Mao or Stalin or the Vietnamese leaders or certainly Fidel locking up people they see as dangerous. Because so often, dissidence has been used by the greater powers to undermine a people's revolution." Lynne Stewart
and during her trial:
"To rid ourselves of the entrenched, voracious type of capitalism that is in this country that perpetuates sexism and racism, I don't think that can come nonviolently." Lynne Stewart
"I don’t believe in anarchistic violence, but in directed violence. That would be violence directed at the institutions which perpetuate capitalism, racism, and sexism, and the people who are the appointed guardians of those institutions, and accompanied by popular support." Lynne Stewart
Lynne will be sentenced on March 10, 2006. You can help lock Lynne up for life by writing the Judge and asking him to show no leniency to Lynne Stewart for her crimes and asking him to impose the maximum sentence allowed for plotting with terrorists.
The Judge's address is:
Honorable John G. Koeltl
United States District Judge
Southern District of New York
United States Courthouse
500 Pearl Street
New York, New York 10007
Briefly say who you are - your position in work and in society. State that you are aware that Lynne is to be sentenced following a jury verdict of guilty on charges of crimes against America. Tell the Judge why you believe she should be made an example of, and not given any leniency whatsoever. Feel free to remind the Judge of who she by using the quotes above.
Send a copy of your letter to the lawyers who prosecuted Lynne, so they can present them all to the Judge at sentencing time, they will have the maximum impact as he considers the matter:
Joseph E. Bianco, Esq.
Christopher T. Morvillo, Esq.
Assistant United States Attorneys
Southern District of New York
United States Attorney's Office

More Mulsim Propaganda
Muslim Preacher on Temple Mount: Restore Worldwide Islamic Rule
A plan for the "Return of the Khalifate" was published secretly in 2002 by a group called "The Guiding Helper Foundation." The group explained that it wished to "give direction to the educated Muslim populace in its increasing interest in the establishment of Islam as a practical system of rule."This past Friday, Feb. 24, however, the plan went public. Sheikh Nawahda called publicly for the renewal of the Islamic Khalifate, which would "unite all the Moslems in the world against the infidels."
The Khalifate system features a leader, known as a Khalif, who heads worldwide Islam. Assisted by a ten-man council, his decisions are totally binding on all Moslems...

Wild Thing's comment....
When/Why did Moslem become Muslim? hahaha I guess it's kind of like MuhamMAD. How many different ways do you see the bas#ard's name spelled?

Al Qaeda Riot At Pulacharke Prison
Pulacharke Prison riot!
This is the prison in Afghanistan where Jack Idema, two other Americans and Task Force Saber.

.
After a night of gunfire there are a dozen dead, more than 50 wounded, 80 women held hostage and raped.
How did this happen?
Hundreds of Taliban and al-Qaida Prisoners have revolted at Pulacharke Prison Compound in the wake of tighter security measures by Northern Alliance Commanders after last month's escape of 7 top Taliban prisoners during Sunday visiting. The Taliban prisoners had exchanged clothes with visitors, falsified arm IDs for visitors, and slipped out as 750 visitors left. Who was the man responsible for the escape? None other than a US State Department "agent." An Afghan Pashtun General who was on the US Embassy's payroll, had been sent on all expense paid trip to America by Jack Idema's enemies in the US Embassy, and had been paid bribes to inform on Afghan political and military meetings with Jack. The general was fired just one week ago. To impose tighter security all terrorist prisoners were to be issued prison gray clothes today. The revolt had allegedly been planned more than two weeks ago. It started sometime around 8pm Saturday according to Afghan CIA sources.
New intelligence from MOJ Command indicates that TF SABER FORCE is not a primary target of al-Qaida during revolt. Afghan intelligence believes that the prison revolt was planned and organized after President Hamid Karzai ordered amnesty given to 500 Taliban insurgents last week. Taliban terrorists, who had bombed, murdered, assassinated, and beheaded both innocent Afghans and foreign soldiers and aid workers, were given complete amnesty, $100, a certificate of welcome into the government, and a PAKOL to replace their black turbans before having their royal terrorist asses kissed by Karzai.

Costello To Muslims ~ Accept Our Values Or Leave Aussie Land

.
SYDNEY (AFP) -
Australian Treasurer Peter Costello, favourite to become the country's next leader, has called for Muslim extremists to be stripped of their citizenship while denouncing multiculturalism as "mushy and misguided".Costello demanded new citizens accept Australian laws rather than attempt to live by alternative codes such as sharia (Islamic) law, saying it was a sign of respect in the same way that taking off one's shoes before entering a mosque showed deference towards Islam.
"If you have strong objections to walking in your socks, don't enter the mosque," Costello told a function in Sydney late Thursday. "If you have strong objections to (Australian) values, don't come to Australia."
Government backbencher Danna Vale also said last week that Australians were aborting themselves "almost out of existence" and the country could become a Muslim nation within 50 years as a result.
This is a GREAT article. You can read the article here and also the Muslims reaction to this.

Marines Focus On Special Ops Work

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. —
The Marine Corps formally entered the world of military special operations Friday by establishing a separate command devoted to small-unit tactics and stealthy reconnaissance. It's work they've done as far back as World War II, but never before as part of the U.S. Special Operations Command. The change means battalions of Marines will be focused on special ops work just as Navy SEALs and Army Green Berets and Rangers are.
Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld made the change official after arriving at Camp Lejeune aboard an Osprey tiltrotor aircraft. He said special ops Marines will help "seek new and innovative ways to take the fight to the enemy."
Demand for highly trained special operations forces has increased as the U.S. war against terrorists continues.
"We face a ruthless enemy that lurks in shadows," Rumsfeld said. "It has become vital the Department of Defense and armed forces arrange ourselves in new and unconventional ways to succeed in meeting the peril of our age."
The Marines plan to establish their first special operations company in May and have the command fully staffed with about 2,500 troops by 2010. The command will recruit corporals, sergeants and officers with reconnaissance experience and language training.
As part of the change, the Marine anti-terrorism brigade headquartered at Lejeune will go out of business and shift some of its troops to the special operations command. The command will have combat battalions on both U.S. coasts, along with support units and schools to teach special operations skills to U.S. and foreign troops.
Units to train foreign military officers will deploy within months, Marine Commandant Gen. Michael Hagee said. A special operations company will deploy with an expeditionary unit aboard ships by the end of the year, other military officials said.
The Tampa, Fla.-based U.S. Special Operations Command will control the Marines' special forces.
Special operations will give the Marines "a role they otherwise would not be able to get, to do counterterrorism," said military analyst John Pike of Washington-based Globalsecurity.org.
"The struggle against evil doers is a growth industry and the Marines want a piece of that," Pike said. "The special operations community is getting a lot larger and they need more people."

"Sadr City, on the other hand, is nuts because that idiot Sadr is stirring things up. And the entire city has to suffer because of it. Yeah, it was calm yesterday, but that idiot Mookie Sadr has his goons and his loyal followers all riled up now. Mookie Sadr has caused misery for so many before and a couple of my co-workers were killed in April '04 because of him. He needs to become metaphysically challenged. Be GONE."
"So Baghdad is still locked down and will remain so for at least another couple of days. This is really hosing things up for everyone and I can't imagine the hit the struggling Iraqi economy is going to take with its capital having to be shut down like this.
They extended the %$$! curfew in Baghdad again until Monday. Mookie Sadr's idiots over in Sadr City are misbehaving. Everyone is obeying the curfew for the most part."
"This is starting to hose up up. Not that I haven't been through this before. (weary sigh...)
Fortunately, most Iraqis think he's an idiot, too. He has his goons in Najaf and around the south, but even the majority of Shiites think he's too looney for them.
Recently, a man was found dead in a square in Baghdad with a sign around his neck that read "This is a terrorist who killed innocent people." (Don't know if the media found that worth reporting.)
There's been quite a bit of vigilantism going on. The Iraqis have also gotten much bolder about ratting out the terrorists when they become aware of them operating in their neighborhoods.
Some are saying it might have been the Iranians and there is some evidence to support that, but al-Qaeda's ben awfully busy in the region recently as well. We do feel pretty confident that it wasn't Iraqi Sunnis. And the Iraqis feel the same way.
The libs are fulla crap, as usual when they say we are ALL hated for being here. There are some people who resent us being here, but they tend to be those who were in favor by Saddam Hussein and we don't care about them.
Most of the Iraqis are warm, generous people who are glad to be free and they know exactly why they are free. I've been blessed to have made several Iraqi friends with whom I believe I'll stay in touch for the rest of my life. The Iraqis really don't want a civil war. Only the media and the lefties want that.
The tomb of Salman Pak, also known as Salman al-Farisi, was attacked after sunset with two rockets. They don't seem to be reacting to it. I listened to a bucnh of the Iraqis listening to the news in Arabic on the radio just about a half hour ago (heard "Ee-rawn" mentioned a couple of times) and now they're just cutting up and playing around like they always do in the evenings. Everything seems back to normal now and I pray it stays that way."
This one I got on Thursday, January 23, 2006
"It's CRAZY out there! We went outside a few minutes ago and we could hear constant gunfire and shouting. We can't see over our walls, but I've never heard such bedlam here.
I suspect that slimeball Sadr is behind a lot of this and I wish that guy would somehow assume room temperature.
I'm thinking about going up on the roof of the building to look at the streets, but I don't think the security people will let us today.
I couldn't get out in that even if I were crazy enough to want to. We're on a very tight lockdown here
In the thick of it. Gunfire, shouting and sirens are going off all around us. It's been like that since yesterday around noon.
We're safe in our fortress and they're not even focused on us.
The Sunnis have far more to lose by a sectarian war than the Shiites, and they know this. al-Qaeda may have scored a short term gain with yet another shocking display of violence, but this could be another miscalculation that further alienates them in the eyes of the Iraqi people.
I'm hoping this is how it ends up. I think they'll rage for another day or two and then calm down.
Every Iraqi I've met wants this democracy to work.
We're expecting another bad day tomorrow because it's Friday - the Muslim Holy Day. They tend to get real wound up then. Plus, Iraq is in a three-day mourning period, so everything is shut down.
They're pretty capitalistic. They'll settle down just to get those shops and commerce opened again, if nothing else."
" I still have this I saved in my notes to send you.
According to one analysis, attacks on U.S. soldiers and Iraqi government forces last year increased 29 percent, and recruitment of new insurgents does not appear to be a problem.
This is a good example of how the media scum operates. "One analysis." Done by whom? ABC themselves? Al Qaeda? Al Gore? Some nine-year-old kid?
The attack ratio has been steadily going DOWN over the last eight months. Oh, they ramp it up once in a while, but less and less frequently. (Unfortuately, they were a little busy today in Baghdad, but it's been much quieter than it used to be.)
The media distorts and outright lies about Iraq and has been doing so for a long time. And it dishonors the fantastic job our troops are doing here.
Thanks to our Military, all of you for a job well done and just ignore the media scum and their leftist agenda.
It won't be long before the progress in Iraq is so obvious that the media scum won't be able to cover it up anymore.
P. S. - The media never did much or any coverage on how they themselves got kicked out of the Green Zone, did they? No, because then they'd have to divulge the reason.
And the reason is clear to most of us."

Some of the notes are spacy because I had to seperate some things that I cannot share on here. But it will still give enough information of how it is there.

Cindy Sheehan Can Share A Room In Hell With Hanoi Jane and John Kerry

Sheehan to protest at U.S. posts in Germany in March
Cindy Sheehan is going to bring her protest to Germany outside of Landstuhl Army Medical Center. Landstuhl is usually the first stop for our wounded coming back from the war on their way to Walter Reed or Bethesda or Brooke (San Antonio).
“[We’ve already heard] that Cindy Sheehan is like Hanoi Jane [Fonda] coming here,” said Elsa Rassbach, an event organizer with American Voices Abroad, which is supporting Sheehan’s trip.
When asked for comment Wednesday on Sheehan’s upcoming visit, several soldiers in Kaiserslautern asked if they could be quoted anonymously. One soldier, who recently returned from Iraq, did give his name but didn’t have much to say about Sheehan.
“Anything I would have to say about her, you couldn’t print,” Army Staff Sgt. Mark Genthner said.
March 9: News conference in Frankfurt; panel discussion in Aachen
March 10: Reception of the mayor and news conference in Aachen
March 11-12: “Camp Casey” events at Landstuhl/Ramstein
March 13: Press conference and various events in Paris
March 14: News conference and hearing with European Union parliament in Strasbourg, France

The Navy’s Swimming Spy Plane
"Dude, you just got your ass kicked in battle. What happened?"
"It was the flying nun's hat..."

.
Lockheed Martin’s Skunk Works, famed for the U-2 and Blackbird spy planes that flew higher than anything else in the world in their day, is trying for a different altitude record: an airplane that starts and ends its mission 150 feet underwater. The Cormorant, a stealthy, jet-powered, autonomous aircraft that could be outfitted with either short-range weapons or surveillance equipment, is designed to launch out of the Trident missile tubes in some of the U.S. Navy’s gigantic Cold War–era Ohio-class submarines. These formerly nuke-toting subs have become less useful in a military climate evolved to favor surgical strikes over nuclear stalemates, but the Cormorant could use their now-vacant tubes to provide another unmanned option for spying on or destroying targets near the coast. This is no easy task. The tubes are as long as a semi trailer but about seven feet wide—not exactly airplane-shaped. The Cormorant has to be strong enough to withstand the pressure 150 feet underwater—enough to cave in hatches on a normal aircraft—but light enough to fly. Another challenge: Subs survive by stealth, and an airplane flying back to the boat could give its position away. The Skunk Works’s answer is a four-ton airplane with gull wings that hinge around its body to fit inside the missile tube. The craft is made of titanium to resist corrosion, and any empty spaces are filled with plastic foam to resist crushing. The rest of the body is pressurized with inert gas. Inflatable seals keep the weapon-bay doors, engine inlet and exhaust covers watertight.
The Cormorant does not shoot out of its tube like a missile. Instead an arm-like docking “saddle” guides the craft out, sending it floating to the surface while the sub slips away. As the drone pops out of the water, the rocket boosters fire and the Cormorant takes off. After completing its mission, the plane flies to the rendezvous coordinates it receives from the sub and lands in the sea. The sub then launches a robotic underwater vehicle to fetch the floating drone.
The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (Darpa) is funding tests of some of the Cormorant’s unique systems, including a splashdown model and an underwater-recovery vehicle. The tests should be completed by September, after which Darpa will decide whether it will fund a flying prototype.

Countries Line Up With Hamas (Terrorists)
Saudis Tell Rice They Won't Isolate Hamas
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia —
Saudi Arabia on Wednesday became the second Arab ally in as many days to reject the U.S. strategy of financially isolating Hamas if the terrorist group does not moderate its policies as leader of the Palestinians. As Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice sat nearby, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal said through a translator, "We wish not to link financial assistance to the Palestinian people to issues other than their dire humanitarian needs."
A day earlier, Rice had stood by as Saud's Egyptian counterpart said it was premature to cut off aid to a Hamas-led government.
Saud and Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit said the world should not "prejudge" Hamas, whose sweep in Palestinian elections last month stunned Washington and threw the Israeli-Palestinian peace process into new turmoil.
Earlier Wednesday, Rice pledged to a group of Egyptian democracy activists in Cairo that the United States would continue applying pressure on Egypt's government to meet its promises of reform.
"One good thing about having the president stand for election and ask for the consent of the governed is that there is a program," Rice told a group of dissidents, editors and professors.
Wild Thing's comment............
But let's look at the rest that say kumbaya let's give Hamas a chance.
Hamas' Amen Corner from Frontpage
Most of the Muslim world is vying for opportunities to court Hamas, to curry favor with Hamas, to cut deals with Hamas. Muslim countries that virtually abandoned the Palestinian people under the leadership of Arafat and Abbas have embraced the new Hamas leadership.Iran, Syria, Venezuela, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey
Jordan has invited Hamas for a visit, but only if their diplomatic mission is led by the number two diplomatic man, Abu Marzouk, and not by number one Khaled Mashal. In other words, Jordan will not permit Khaled Mashal, the chief diplomat for Hamas entry into their country. Jordan considers Mashal a destabilizing force, an irresponsible leader and a terrorist.
Turkey has just finished a sit-down with Hamas. The meetings took place in Syria. Turkey is trying to straddle the fence. They are a democracy but they are also a Muslim state.
Russia....On the surface it would seem somewhat surprising, even perplexing, to learn that Russia has extended a welcoming hand to Hamas.
Hamas would be happy to have it all. But above all comes ideology. And Hamas has done nothing, nothing at all, to suggest even the smallest modification in their ideological foundation. And that, my friends, does not bode well for our future.

Last Of A Line Of Great Grumman Fighters~ F-14 Tomcat
Thank you Bob for telling us about this.
.
A chapter in naval aviation history drew to a close aboard USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) with the last recovery of an F-14 Tomcat from a combat mission.
.

.
Piloted by Capt. William G. Sizemore II, commander, Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 8, Fighter Squadron (VF) 213's aircraft 204, was trapped at 12:35 a.m. February 8, and marked one of the final stages of the Navy's transition from the F-14 to F/A-18 E/F Super Hornet.
"It's the end of an era and it just kind of worked out that I was the last trap," said Sizemore. "This is one of the best airplanes ever built, and it's sad to see it go away. It's just a beautiful airplane. It's powerful, it has presence, and it just looks like the ultimate fighter."
Lt. Bill Frank, a VF-31 pilot, also took part in the last mission, and is credited with being the last pilot to ever drop a bomb from an F-14 Tomcat.
The decision to incorporate the Super Hornet and decommission the F-14 is mainly due to high amount of maintenance required to keep the Tomcats operational. On average, an F-14 requires nearly 50 maintenance hours for every flight hour, while the Super Hornet requires five to ten maintenance hours for every flight hour.
The F-14 entered operational service with Navy fighter squadrons VF-1 Wolfpack and VF-2 Bounty Hunters onboard USS Enterprise (CVN 65) in September 1974. The Tomcat's purpose was to serve as a fighter interceptor and it eventually replaced the F-4 Phantom II Fighter which was phased out in 1986.
From its initial combat air patrol mission during the 1975 U.S. Embassy evacuation in Vietnam, to its recent missions in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Maritime Security Operations in the Arabian Gulf with VF 31 and 213 of CVW-8 the F-14 Tomcat has played a vital role with the Navy for 32 years.
During its first 17 years of operational service in the Navy, the Tomcat played a vital role as an interceptor with its air-to-air capabilities. However, during the 1991 Persian Gulf War, the need for the Tomcat's air-to air-capabilities diminished as air-to-ground capabilities proved to be more effective.
Shortly following the Persian Gulf War, Navy leaders decided to devise removable bomb racks for the Tomcat's to allow them to carry MK-80 "dumb" bombs. With its new upgrades the Tomcat's were soon dubbed as the "Bombcats."
Shortly following the addition of bomb racks, Tomcats were equipped with Low-Altitude Navigation and Targeting Infrared for Night (LANTIRN) targeting system to allow for delivery of laser-guided bombs. During the proceeding years the F-14s took on a new, more effective role as a fighter-bomber.
"I will never forget flying a 'Show of Force' over a city in Iraq where our troops were taking fire from insurgents," said Lt. Cmdr. Gregory Knepper, a VF-31 pilot referring to a recent Tomcat mission.
"After making a high speed/low altitude pass over the shoot-out, the insurgents fled and hopefully we saved the lives of some of our soldiers."
In keeping with its history of being adaptable to new challenges, the Tomcat soared to a new level during its last deployment when it became the first Navy aircraft to make use of the Remotely Operated Video Enhanced Receivers (ROVER) system in December of last year.
The system allows for ground forces to view video via laptop computers which gives them the ability to view their surroundings from the aircrafts' point of view in real time, and ultimately provides better reconnaissance and target identification, which are essential to combat air support missions in Iraq.
Previously ROVER had been used by the Air Force, and with a few modifications from personnel of Naval Air Station Oceana, Va., and members from NADEP Jacksonville, Fla.; it became one of the last great modifications to the Tomcat.
VF-213 pilots who are making the transition to the Super Hornet will begin F/A-18F (double seat) training in April, and the squadron will be operational, or "safe for flight," in September. VF-31 pilots who are making the transition will begin F/A-18E (single seat) training in October, and the squadron will be safe for flight in April 2007. This will make VF-31 the last official Tomcat squadron in the Navy.
.
Wild Thing's comment.....
Remember when Ronald Reagan challenged the idiot of Libya by sending the Carrier Nimitz into the Gulf of Sidra in August 1981.
Two F-14s on patrol were attacked by two Fitters from Libya. One Fitter shot a short range missile at the F-14s, who were immediately cleared to return fire. The F-14s fired two sidewinder shots and made two kills.
Beautiful. The F-14 is still the baddest-ass looking plane ever made. Sleek waving design lines, broad wings, and arrogantly showing off it's array of armament.
And from BobF..........
I can’t believe the Navy is going to retire the F-14…where is Tom Cruise when you need him. As far as today’s fighters go, I consider the F-14 and F-15 the heavyweights. The F-16 and F-18 are nice, fast, and sleek but when you have to kick some serious butt, send in the heavyweights.

U.S. Soliders Take to Water to Combat Terrorists

2nd Brigade Combat Team
ISKANDARIYAH, Iraq, Feb. 22, 2006 — Some of them are tankers, some of them are infantryman. But now some of them are ... sailors?
"It’s a nice change-of-pace to be on the river after patrolling the roads all of the time. There are bad guys on the water, so we need to get them too." U.S. Army Spc. Michael Komaromy
U.S. soldiers assigned to the 1st Battalion, 67th Armor Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, are keeping the pressure on terrorists in the Babil province and have taken counterinsurgency operations to the least common of places for an armor unit: the water.
Insurgents will do whatever it takes to go undetected in this area, and using the river is one of the ways they transport and hide bomb-making materials, said U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Paul Jones, combat engineer with the battalion’s Company E.
The battalion has discovered numerous weapons caches since taking over its area of responsibility. During the past week alone, four caches were found over a 24-hour period. Last month, a substantial cache was discovered on one of many islands along the river.
Islands are a clever place for terrorists to hide improvised explosive devices and other weapons used against coalition and Iraqi security forces, said Jones.
Having a presence on the rivers to prevent terrorists from getting to those islands only makes sense. Soldiers probe the islands and search for weapons and other material terrorists use to do harm.
“It’s a nice change-of-pace to be on the river after patrolling the roads all of the time,” said U.S. Army Spc. Michael Komaromy, also a Company E combat engineer. “There are bad guys on the water, so we need to get them too.”
Soldiers from Company E never trained for water operations before deploying late last year, Jones said. Since arriving in Iraq, and the introduction of the mission, it has been on-the-job training for these medics, scouts and other soldiers tasked with keeping the water routes free from terrorists.
“We had two or three days of getting familiar with the boats: knowing where everything is and going over man-overboard drills,” said Komaromy, “but the reactions to contact are just about the same as in a vehicle.”
The river operations have been effective, Jones said. Improvised explosive device emplacement was more prevalent in the area prior to 1st Battalion, 67th Armor Regiment’s operations. Now, with checkpoints set up and a presence on the water, terrorists are finding fewer places to hide.
“Locals may feel more comfortable and secure knowing that we are providing security all around them,” said Jones. “They want to feel better about the area they are living in, and this is one of the ways to make sure that happens.”
Company E lost one of its own during the early days of this deployment, and the reminder drives these soldiers to make sure terrorists are taken off the streets – and the water.
“If cruising this river all day and all night is what it takes to take the bad stuff out of the (terrorists’) hands, then that’s what I’ll do,” said Jones.

USS Ronald Reagan In Middle East

Feb. 22, 2006
The Navy’s newest aircraft carrier, the USS Ronald Reagan, has replaced the USS Theodore Roosevelt in the Middle East as the nuclear-powered carrier marks its maiden operational deployment, Navy officials said.
The San Diego-based carrier, which leads Carrier Strike Group 7, arrived in the Navy’s 5th Fleet area of operations Saturday, and is there to support U.S. military missions in Iraq and Afghanistan.
“Our past nine months of training have been in preparation to support our troops on the ground in Iraq and carry out maritime security operations,” Rear Adm. Michael Miller, strike group commander, said in a Navy news release.
Aboard the $4.5 billion carrier is Carrier Air Wing 14, with about 85 fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters. The Reagan left its home port Jan. 4 for an expected six-month deployment to the western Pacific Ocean and Persian Gulf.
More than 6,000 sailors are assigned to the carrier strike group, which includes Destroyer Squadron 7, the guided-missile cruiser USS Lake Champlain, the guided-missile destroyers USS McCampbell and USS Decatur, the fast combat support ship USS Rainer, and Explosives Ordnance Disposal Unit 11, Detachment 15.
The aircraft squadrons include Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 22, VFA-25, VFA-113, VFA-115, Airborne Early Warning Squadron 113, Tactical Electronic Warfare Squadron 139, Carrier Logistics Support 30, and Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron 4.
Commissioned in July 2003, the Reagan is the Navy’s ninth nuclear-powered Nimitz-class aircraft carrier.
The departing Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group made history on its deployment when a pair of the Navy’s retiring F-14 Tomcats marked the jet’s final mission Feb. 8.

Golden Mosque In Iraq Bombed By Insurgents

From AP
SAMARRA, Iraq - Insurgents detonated bombs inside one of Iraq's holiest Shiite shrines Wednesday, destroying its golden dome and triggering more than 60 reprisal attacks on Sunni mosques. The president warned that extremists were pushing the country toward civil war, as many Shiites lashed out at the United States as partly to blame.
As the gold dome of the 1,200-year-old Askariya shrine lay in ruins, leaders on both sides called for calm: But the string of back-and-forth attacks seemed to push the country closer to all-out civil war than at any point in the three years since the U.S.-led overthrow of
Saddam Hussein."We are facing a major conspiracy that is targeting Iraq's unity," said President Jalal Talabani, a Kurd. "We should all stand hand in hand to prevent the danger of a civil war."

REUTERS/Kareem Raheem Email Photo Print Photo
From Iraq the Model
"Right now there's heavy deployment for the police and other security forces with more frequent checkpoints that are stop-searching cars more often than they usually do. Sporadic gunfire is heard in different spots in Baghdad but no one knows for sure if the firing meant clashes or mere angry shooting in the air.
From where I'm sitting now I can hear both Sunni and Shia mosques are condemning the attack through their loudspeakers.I believe there are foreign terror groups behind this attack and I don't think local insurgent would do such a thing, simply because this particular shrine had been in Sunni territory for a thousand years and the residents of Samarra had always benefited from the movement of religious tourism and pilgrimage.
Things look scary here in Baghdad and I hope there won't be more updates to report as I can't see a positive thing coming out of this..."
.

From Reuters
U.S. and Iraqi forces are battling a largely Sunni Arab insurgency against the Shi'ite- and Kurdish-led government in Baghdad.
**BAGHDAD - At least 28 Sunni mosques and an office for the Iraqi Islamic Party in Baghdad were attacked by gunmen after the bomb blast in Samarra. Police said one mosque was completely burnt while others were attacked by gunfire and rocket propelled grenades. Three clerics and three bodyguards were killed, and another cleric was kidnapped, according to interior ministry sources. Gunmen used rifles and RPG rounds in the latest mosque attack, in the southern Saidaya district of Baghdad, a witness said.
**Hussein al-Falluji, a leading Sunni politician, reported attacks on at least 75 Sunni mosques around the country with most in eastern Baghdad.
.
Wild Thing's comment....
I wouldn't know one mosque from another and could care less. What I do know is that our troops are there and I want them to be as safe as possible. The insurgents that did the original bombing only show that the death cult does not (once again) respect others in their own cult.
We ( America) on the other hand have ways of dealing with people like insurgents and we don't deliever our wrath half assed. God bless our Troops!

Top 10 Discipline Tips for Unruly Children of the Jihad
Wild Thing's comment.....
This is from a wonderful blog owned by AbbaGav. He has such a fantastic sense of humor in his writings. Below is something he wrote that I want to share with you.
Since the children are the future, I offer the following child-raising wisdom, for dealing with that troublesome future Jihad Warrior when he just won't behave:
1. Tell him that if he doesn't behave, you'll kill off Uncle Osama in tonight's bedtime story.
2. Suspend his "Islam's Funniest Goodbye Suicide-Videos" viewing privileges for a month.
3. Show him a picture of his attractive cousin, and a picture of his homely cousin, and explain that life is about choices.
4. Threaten to let his younger brother kill himself first.
5. No more riding shotgun with Daddy in the explosives truck at parades.
6. If he doesn't behave, explain that the next time his friends come looking for him, you'll be forced to tell them he's visiting a Jewish friend.
7. Make sure he understands how important his behavior is to the family's honor. Involve one of his sisters in the discussion if necessary.
8. Tell him he can forget about that coveted GI Yusuf doll with Kung Fu detonator grip and detachable brain pan (some internal organs sold separately, batteries not included)
9. Respect his understanding of the concept of consequences: if you can't count on him to behave now, how can you trust him with the important role of "corpse" in tomorrow's big funeral procession?
10. Negotiate. And lollipops. Important life lessons must be inculcated from the very first years.
Thank you so much AbbaGav!

The Free Jack Idema Blogburst

.
Although the main reason we campaign for the release of illegally-imprisoned U.S. Special Forces soldier Jack Idema and his fellow prisoners, Brent Bennett and Ed Caraballo, is to see a gross injustice put right, it really is worth bearing in mind how valuable men like Jack are to our side in the WoT.
A common perception about the fight to rid ourselves of Islamofascism is that the hot-spot right now is Iraq, while hostilities in Afghanistan are, to all intents and purposes, over. Sadly, as the BBC reported yesterday, nothing could be further from the truth:
It is only 200km (125 miles) from Kabul to Khost, but Afghanistan’s capital has little control over this rugged border province. Government officials in Kabul say well-armed fighters cross regularly from next-door Pakistan, but admit they can do little to stop them. In remote areas, more than $5,000 (£2,865) in bounty money has been offered to local men to kill senior government workers, one administrator said. “It is big money. It is al-Qaeda money and it is from the Gulf,” he said, referring to Arab supporters of al-Qaeda.
For anyone paying attention, this is precisely how al-Qaeda infiltrated Afghanistan during the Taliban era, using cash, assassination and foreign fighters to set in place the system that eventually brought about 9/11.
Grasping why history is repeating itself in this way isn’t difficult — All it has taken is for the U.S. State Department to remain stuck in the pre-9/11 mindset of containment and appeasement. Rather than rooting out all the Taliban sympathisers of importance in Afghanistan in 2001, the philosophy that came to govern post-Taliban Afghanistan was, more often than not, one of allowing members of the old regime back into the political life of the country if they agreed to ‘renounce violence’.
Now, granted, the idea of peace and reconciliation, of healing divisions after a war draws to an end, is something any reasonable person would desire. Only, here’s the problem: we are not dealing with reasonable people. Most of us woke up to that fact on the morning of 9/11, but not, it seems, the U.S. State Department or the Karzai interim government. Both have sought to appease a hard core of Islamofascists with promises of power in exchange for agreements to refrain from violence. What we’re beginning to see is just how disastrous a policy this was.
… Though Jack Idema could have told the State Department that back in 2004. We will remember, after all, that Idema and his men were arrested after they captured an ‘ex’-Taliban judge, Sidiq, who was in possession of:
~ Photographs of himself with Gulbuddin Hekmatyar
~ Bomb plans
~ Explosive detonators

~ A letter from Taliban leader Mullah Omar
The State Department and Karzai interim government reacted to this arrest by handing Idema over to the very terrorist elements he’d been hunting. This was done in a desperate, and desperately misguided, bid to smooth ruffled feathers and keep the ‘peace process’ on track.
Two years later, we can see the results of this strategy as entire sections of Afghanistan fall back under the control of Islamofascists, and foreign-funded jihadists pour across the border from Pakistan. If this proves anything, it’s that Idema and the Northern Alliance’s distrust of ‘former’ terrorists was entirely appropriate. Moreover, as the recent shift in power from Karzai to the Northern Alliance shows, ordinary Afghans, too, want the Taliban’s bloody hands removed from the levers of power once and for all.
Here’s Jack, writing just after elections handed power over to the Northern Alliance:
What did you expect? Did you expect Afghan families to vote for the return of the whip and rod? During their brief time in power, the Taliban denied the people all human rights, abolished music and song, televisions and pictures; even personal pictures. All males had to wear turbans and could not cut their beards—violations were met with beatings and executions. Females had no rights except the right to be stoned in public until dead for even a minor infraction. The Taliban closed all schools and medical centers, and established the Ministry of Good and Evil to enforce their belief system on the entire country; everyone had been whipped at least once. To possess any picture, even a gum wrapper with a cartoon on it, meant you violated Islam, and that required a beating. Fly a kite, go to jail. Trim your beard, go to jail. Let your wife go shopping alone, go to jail. Sports were outlawed so they used the Kabul Soccer Stadium to execute women– hey, don’t waste resources. Oh yeah, the Afghan people were going to vote for these psychos again.
It’s high time Idema was released so he can continue working to fulfil the wishes of both the American and Afghan people — To rout the Taliban and make sure they never get close to political power again.
So what can we do? Well, anyone reading this with their own blog can sign up for the weekly Free Jack Idema Blogburst by emailing Cao or Rottweiler Puppy for details. Which Way's The Wind Blowing, Abdul?"

.
Website page with image on entire page
From Jerusalem Post....
Details released by the Palestinian Media Watch (PMW) on Tuesday revealed that graphics appearing on the Hamas website call for the destruction of Israel in a nuclear holocaust.
On the website, a red Star of David is encased in a black rectangle which is then obliterated in a nuclear explosion.
Arabic words then appear saying "The Az A-Din Al Qassam website exclusively tells the whole story of the most elusive squad [to be uncovered] in the history of the Entity([Israel), in the city of Ramallah." Every few seconds there are repeated images of a nuclear explosion destroying the Star of David.
In an undated interview on the website posted after the recent Palestinian legislative elections, the Hamas military wing vows to continue its resistance. "As long as there is occupation, there will be resistance," the statement says.
The English version of their website at doesn't show the images - instead it opts for a much more politically correct appearance.

FBI Visits Air Charter Again

A pair of Gulfstream business jets are parked at Security Aviation, located at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport, earlier this month. The jet on the right was the target of a federal search warrant by FBI agents on Saturday. Federal Aviation Administration records show at least 21 aircraft registered with the companies of Mark Avery, owner of Security Aviation since 2005.
SECURITY AVIATION: Two weeks after raid, a new look focuses on one jet.
By RICHARD MAUER Anchorage Daily News Published: February 21, 2006
Federal agents returned to Security Aviation on Saturday, but this time their search was more limited than the raids two weeks ago at the air charter company's facilities in Anchorage and Palmer and owner Mark Avery's C Street building.
FBI spokesman Eric Gonzalez said Monday that only Security Aviation's Gulfstream III executive jet was targeted by agents executing a search warrant Saturday at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport.
Gonzalez wouldn't say what investigators were looking for or what they found. No additional people were arrested, he said, and the Gulfstream wasn't seized. Avery associate Rob Kane was arrested during the Feb. 2 raids and charged with possessing two rocket launchers without a permit. He remains in jail, denied bond as a flight risk.
Eight Czech military planes capable of being fitted with the rocket launchers were seized by federal agents a week ago and removed from the airport to an undisclosed location.......rest of article HERE.

Conservative T-Shirt Maker Has Life Threatened

Hate Mail and Death Threats Target Seller of Mohammed Cartoon T-shirts
February 21, 2006 -- Conservative t-shirt maker MetroSpy set off a firestorm when their newest design depicted a caricature of the prophet Mohammed with a bomb wrapped in his turban. According to Islamic tradition, graphic depictions of the Prophet Mohammed are forbidden. MetroSpy's apparent disregard for this tradition has outraged many in the Muslim world, prompting some to voice their displeasure by sending the company hate-filled email, online viruses and even death threats.Johnathan Alexander, MetroSpy's production manager, says he's never seen anything like it. “It's a silly little cartoon. We've sold designs far more offensive than this for years”, referring to a t shirt which reads, “My Jesus can beat up your Allah.”
“For people to become so enraged over a drawing that they resort to burning down buildings and threatening to kill people is something I'll never understand,” Alexander said.
In one email the person writes, “We kill you and burn your shop. I am Muslim with forces in the U.S.A.”
Another email claims to be from the terrorist group Al Qaeda. It reads, “You only have 5 days and your company will disappear. I promise!” The email is signed, Saalem Al Qahtani, Al Qaeda.
One of the more disturbing messages simply says, “In two days we kill your family."
Over the past few days, MetroSpy has begun posting some of the emails on their website.
According to Alexander, “Ever since we started posting the messages along with the sender's return address, the volume of hate mail has slowed down and the tone has changed considerably. In fact, some of the more recent comments could be considered polite.”
In an email which was traced to Saudi Arabia, the writer asks, “Could you guys do a favor? Please eliminate this picture from your goods because it's very embarrassing to our religion. If you do that, it would be a greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.”
Despite protests over their offending design, MetroSpy plans to continue selling the t-shirts. As a precautionary measure however, MetroSpy has increased its security, sought the advice of a private investigative agency and remain in close contact with federal and local authorities.

Wild Thing's comment.......
I ordered this t-shirt last week. I have ordered from them before like the one that says......
Peace Through Superior Firepower is a good one too.

Democrats Are At It Again ~ Yawn

.
Democrats may unite on plan to pull troops
WASHINGTON -- After months of trying unsuccessfully to develop a common message on the war in Iraq, Democratic Party leaders are beginning to coalesce around a broad plan to begin a quick withdrawal of US troops and install them elsewhere in the region, where they could respond to emergencies in Iraq and help fight terrorism in other countries. The concept, dubbed ''strategic redeployment," is outlined in a slim, nine-page report coauthored by a former Reagan administration assistant Defense secretary, Lawrence J. Korb, in the fall. It sets a goal of a phased troop withdrawal that would take nearly all US troops out of Iraq by the end of 2007, although many Democrats disagree on whether troop draw-downs should be tied to a timeline.
Howard Dean, Democratic National Committee chairman, has endorsed Korb's paper and begun mentioning it in meetings with local Democratic groups. In addition, the study's concepts have been touted by the senator assigned to bring Democrats together on Iraq -- Jack Reed of Rhode Island -- and the report has been circulated among all senators by Senator Dianne Feinstein, an influential moderate Democrat from California.
The party remains divided on some points, including how much detail to include in a party-produced document, fearful of giving too much fodder for attacks by Republicans.
.
Wild Thing's comment.....
Feinstein a moderate? HUH?
Korb is a Soros funded leftist. They use his Reagan era credentials to pretend he's a conservative.

Court Issues Fatwa On Cartoonists

.
Court issues fatwa on cartoonists
An Islamic court in India has issued a fatwa, or religious decree, condemning to death the 12 artists who drew the controversial images of the prophet Mohammed. The decree was issued on behalf of the Idar-e-Sharia Darul Kaza Islamic court in northern Uttar Pradesh state by its religious head in the state capital, Lucknow.
"Death is the only penalty for the cartoonists who had drawn sacrilegious cartoons of the prophet," Maulana Mufti Abul Irfan, the religious head of the court, said overnight. The court's ruling is binding on Muslims, but can be challenged under Indian law.
Mr Irfan said it was clearly written in the Muslim holy book, the Koran, that anyone who insulted the prophet deserved to be punished.
He said the fatwa was applicable wherever Muslims live.
Jaffaryab Zilany, a member of the authoritative national body of Muslim clerics, the All-India Muslim Personal Law Board, said however that although the fatwa was legitimate under Islamic law, it had no legal binding in India.
The sentence comes days after a minister in the state government, Mohammed Yaqoob Qureshi, offered a reward of $US11.5 million ($15.6 million) for the beheading of any of the cartoonists. The cartoons, drawn by 12 artists, were first published in the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten in September and later reprinted in other mainly European dailies. They have sparked protests worldwide, some of them deadly.
On Saturday, a cleric in Pakistan offered a $US1-million ($1.35 million) reward and a car for the death of any of the cartoonists responsible for the drawings, one of which portrayed the prophet with a bomb in his turban.
Muslims consider any depiction of the prophet to be blasphemous.
Muslims make up about 130 million of mainly Hindu India's billion-plus population. While there have been large demonstrations against the cartoons in India, they have been mainly peaceful.
Protesters threaten to join al-Qaeda
HUNDREDS of Afghans shouted support for Osama bin Laden and threatened to join al-Qaeda during a protest today against cartoons of the prophet Mohammed.
Today, students gathered in the campus of the university in Jalalabad chanting death to Denmark, America and France, a witness said.
They also chanted death to Mr Karzai and demanded President Hamid Karzai close the embassies of Denmark, the United States and France and expel their forces from Afghanistan.
"If they abuse the Prophet of Islam again we will all become al-Qaeda," the students shouted.
Wild Thing's comment.....
So much for members of the death cult and their frenzy.
Has anyone heard one single Muslim sound off about how horrible all this protesting is and the killings and threats? Me either!

Cheney's The Man

Wild Thing's comment......
Up till now I have not posted about Cheney. The main reason is because I am sooooo angry at how the media and the left are reacting to this. Traitor Al Gore goes and IMO commits treason by what he said in Saudi Arabia and there is no one in the media that is upset, no two weeks spent in print on his trip and what he said and how awful he is.
But let a Republican fire off a shot accidentally and WHAM POW ZAP it is all over the place. All the press, all the talk shows, all the comedians on TV. Goodbye America where are you! The world is upside down!

He Won't Have The Guts To Try That Again
An IED strapped to Achmed
He thinks,"Many infidels soon will be dead"
But joy turned to gloom
With a premature Ka-BOOM
Seems Achmed is the only one dead.
SUSPECTED suicide bomber blew himself up prematurely near a main road routinely used by government officials and foreign troops in eastern Afghanistan, police said today. The man was blown to bits and only his leg and hat were found at the scene after the blast in eastern Nangarhar province yesterday, provincial police spokesman Ghafor Khan said."Our investigations show that a suicide bomber wanted to get to the main road and, just before that, explosives strapped to his body went off due to some malfunction ahead of time and tore him into pieces," Mr Khan said.
In a separate attack on the same day in the province, a civilian was killed and five were wounded in a bomb blast.
It was not clear who was behind the bombing.
Police, however, blamed both incidents on "enemies of Afghanistan who want to create tension to undermine security".

Forward Operating Base (FOB) Warrior, Iraq -- The Combat Engineers of Company A, 1st Special Troops Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, travel the roads of Iraq to try and prevent life threatening explosions by finding and detonating improvised explosive devices (IED)."Our primary mission is route clearance," commented Sgt. John Nickolaides, a team leader for 1st Platoon, Company A.
With unique training on specialized equipment before deployment, the combat engineers use their eyes, instincts and technology in support of the fight against terrorism.
Driving ahead of another convoy in support of their IED hunting mission may seem dangerous to some, but to the combat engineers they are confident in their abilities and are watchful in their job.

We definitely find more IEDs than actually blow up," said Pvt. 1st Class Heath Crawford, a Soldier in 1st Platoon, Company A.Crawford commented that during their training to be a combat engineer, they were taught about demolition, breaching, and many other special skill sets. Route clearance may not be in their job title, but it is what they know.
Combat engineers learn many different jobs and specialties during their advanced individual training following basic combat training, but in Iraq their job is to clear the path for fellow Soldiers traveling the roads in the Kirkuk Province.
According to Nickolaides, they are not specifically tasked for 1st BCT convoys only; they will clear for any unit requesting their assistance.
Some route clearance missions last only a few hours, but the engineers always prepare for long days and nights.
"The length of our mission is dependent on what we find while we are out," Crawford said.
Long missions are tiring for both the Soldiers and their vehicles.
"Driving for 12 or more hours at times is hard on a vehicle," Nickolaides commented. "But our vehicles do pretty well; we have good mechanics."
With their up-armored vehicles running well, the combat engineers are able to support convoys rolling down the roads. They will lead the convoy out on their mission, and lead them back to where the Soldiers call home...for now.

Bin Laden: I Won't Be Taken Alive
AP)
Osama bin Laden promised never to be captured alive and declared the U.S. had resorted to the same "repressive" tactics used by Saddam Hussein, according to an audiotape purportedly by the al Qaeda leader that was posted Monday on a militant Web site. The tape appeared to be a complete version of one that was first broadcast Jan. 19 on Al-Jazeera, the pan-Arab satellite channel, in which bin Laden offered the United States a long-term truce but also said his al Qaeda terror network would soon launch a fresh attack on American soil.
"I have sworn to only live free. Even if I find bitter the taste of death, I don't want to die humiliated or deceived," bin Laden said.
In drawing the comparison to American military behavior in Iraq to that of Saddam, the speaker said:
"The jihad is continuing with strength, for Allah be all the credit, despite all the barbarity, the repressive steps taken by the American Army and its agents, to the extent that there is no longer any mentionable difference between this criminality and the criminality of Saddam."
With the implied criticism of Saddam, bin Laden appeared to be denying assertions by the Bush administration that the former Iraqi leader had ties to al Qaeda — ties that were given as one rationale for invading Iraq.
The tape's release in January came days after a U.S. airstrike in Pakistan that was targeting bin Laden's deputy, Ayman al-Zawahri, and reportedly killed four leading al Qaeda figures, including possibly al-Zawahri's son-in-law. There was no mention of the attack on the segments that were broadcast.
In the full tape that was posted Monday, bin Laden engaged in renewed propaganda, mocking President Bush's aircraft carrier declaration in April 2003 that major conflict in Iraq had ended.
Speaking directly to the American people, the speaker said:
"You can rescue whatever you can from this hell. The solution is in your hands, if their (U.S. troops') situation matters to you at all."
The initial excerpts had been the first tape from the al Qaeda leader in more than a year — the longest period without a message since the Sept. 11 2001 suicide hijackings in the United States.
The CIA last month authenticated the voice on the initial recording as that of bin Laden, an agency official told The Associated Press at the time. The al Qaeda leader is believed to be hiding in the border region between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Wild Thing's comment.....
Hey Osama, do you really think most of us want you taken alive? Dream on turbin head. Hahahaha
Besides Ramsey Clark is busy being a traitor defending Saddam anyway.

I Think This Stinks
Arab-owned American ports?
http://washingtontimes.com/op-ed/20060214-102147-5104r.htm
Some of the country's busiest ports -- New York, New Jersey, Baltimore and three others -- are about to become the property of the United Arab Emirates. Do we really want our major ports in the hands of an Arab country where al Qaeda recruits, travels and wires money? The Bush administration calls the United Arab Emirates an ally in the war on terror. But the UAE plays the same game Saudi Arabia does of quelching terrorists at home and turning a blind eye everywhere else.
We should be improving port security in an age of terrorism, not outsourcing decisions to the highest bidder. The ports are thought to be the country's weakest homeland-security link, with good reason. Only a fraction of the nation's maritime cargoes are inspected.
The root question is this: Why should the United States have to gamble its port security on whether a subsidiary of the government of the United Arab Emirates happens to remain an antiterrorism ally?
The Committee on Foreign Investment is the wrong place for this decision to be made; it appears to be little more than a rubber stamp.Sen. Chuck Schumer, New York Democrat, among others, is asking tough questions about this deal. For once, we agree with him: President Bush should overrule the committee to reject this deal. If that doesn't happen, Congress should take action. The country's ports should not be owned by foreign governments; much less governments whose territories are favored by al Qaeda.
Homeland Security Director Michael Chertoff on Sunday defended the government's security review of an Arab company given permission to take over operations at six major U.S. ports."We make sure there are assurances in place, in general, sufficient to satisfy us that the deal is appropriate from a national security standpoint," Chertoff said on ABC's "This Week."
London-based Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Co., was bought last week by Dubai Ports World, a state-owned business from the United Arab Emirates. Peninsular and Oriental runs major commercial operations in New York, New Jersey, Baltimore, New Orleans, Miami and Philadelphia.
U.S. lawmakers from both parties are questioning the sale, approved by the Bush administration, as a possible risk to national security.
"It's unbelievably tone deaf politically at this point in our history," Sen. Lindsay Graham, R-S.C. said on "Fox News Sunday."
United Arab Emirates track record — it was the transfer point for nuclear components to Iran, North Korea and Libya, and the UAE's history as an operational and financial base for the hijackers who carried out the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
