Tragic news ....Tony Snow Passes Away

Tony Snow, Former White House Press Secretary and FOX News Anchor, Dies at 53

Fox News

Tony Snow, the former White House press secretary and conservative pundit who bedeviled the press corps and charmed millions as a FOX News television and radio host, died Saturday after a long bout with cancer. He was 53.

A syndicated columnist, editor, TV anchor, radio show host and musician, Snow worked in nearly every medium in a career that spanned more than 30 years.

"Laura and I are deeply saddened by the death of our dear friend Tony Snow," President Bush said in a written statement. "The Snow family has lost a beloved husband and father. And America has lost a devoted public servant and a man of character."

Snow died at 2 a.m. Saturday at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C.

Snow joined FOX in 1996 as the original anchor of "FOX News Sunday" and hosted "Weekend Live" and a radio program, "The Tony Snow Show," before departing in 2006.

"It's a tremendous loss for us who knew him, but it's also a loss for the country," Roger Ailes, chairman of FOX News, said Saturday morning about Snow, calling him a "renaissance man."

As a TV pundit and commentator for FOX News, Snow often was critical of Bush before he became the president's third press secretary, following Ari Fleischer and Scott McClellan. He was an instant study in the job, mastering the position — and the White House press corps — with apparent ease.

"One of the reasons I took this job is not only to work with the president, but, believe it or not, to work with all of you," Snow told reporters when he stepped into the post in 2006. "These are times that are going to be very challenging."

During a tenure marked by friendly jousting with journalists, Snow often danced around the press corps, occasionally correcting their grammar and speech even as he responded to their questions.

"Tony did his job with more flair than almost any press secretary before him," said William McGurn, Bush's former chief speechwriter. "He loved the give-and-take. But that was possible only because Tony was a man of substance who had real beliefs and principles that he was more than able to defend."
As he announced Snow as his new press secretary in May 2006, Bush praised him as "a man of courage [and] a man of integrity."

Snow presided over some of the toughest fights of Bush's presidency, defending the administration during the Iraq war and the CIA leak investigation

"I felt comfortable enough to interrupt him when he was BSing, and he kind of knew it, and he'd shut up and move on," Snow said.

His tenure at the White House lasted 17 months and was interrupted by his second bout with cancer.

Snow had his colon removed and underwent six months of chemotherapy after he was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2005. In 2007 he announced his cancer had recurred and spread to his liver, and he had a malignant growth removed from his abdominal area.

He resigned from the White House six months later, in September 2007, citing not his health but a need to earn more than the $168,000 a year he was paid in the government post. He was replaced by his deputy, Dana Perino, Bush's current press secretary.

After taking time off to recuperate, Snow joined CNN as a political commentator early this year.

At the White House, Snow brought partisan zeal and the skills of a seasoned performer to the task of explaining and defending the president's policies. During daily briefings he challenged reporters, scolded them and questioned their motives as if he were starring in a TV show broadcast live from the West Wing.

"The White House has lost a great friend and a great colleague," said Perino in a statement released to the media. "We all loved watching him at the podium, but most of all we learned how to love our families and treat each other."

Critics suggested Snow was turning the traditionally informational daily briefing into a personality-driven media event short on facts and long on confrontation. He was the first press secretary, by his own accounting, to travel the country raising money for Republican candidates.

As a commentator, he had not always been on the president's side. He once called Bush "something of an embarrassment" in conservative circles and criticized what he called Bush's "lackluster" domestic policy.

A sometime fill-in host for Rush Limbaugh, Snow said he loved the intimacy of his radio audience.

"I don't think you ever arrive," he said. "I think anybody who thinks they've arrived or made it, anywhere in the media — they're nuts."

Robert Anthony Snow was born June 1, 1955, in Berea, Ky., the son of a teacher and nurse. He graduated from Davidson College in 1977 with a bachelor's degree in philosophy, and he taught briefly in Kenya before embarking on his journalism career.

Because of his love for writing, Snow took a job as an editorial writer for the Greensboro Record in North Carolina and went on to run the editorial pages at the Newport News (Virginia) Daily Press, Detroit News and Washington Times. He became a nationally syndicated columnist, and in 1991 he became director of speechwriting for President George H.W. Bush.

"He served people, and we can learn from that. He was kind, and we can learn from that. He was just a good person," the senior Bush told FOX News.

Tony Snow on flute

Tony Snow, White House Press Secretary, plays "Stormy Monday" with Leslie West of Mountain at the Rock 'n Roll Fantasy Camp.

Snow played six instruments — saxophone, trombone, flute, piccolo, accordion and guitar — and was in a D.C. cover band called Beats Workin'. He also was a film buff.

"He was a great musician," Ailes said. "And he loved movies."

More than anything, said Snow's colleagues, he was a joy to work with.

"He was a lot of fun," his former FOX News producer Griff Jenkins said. "This is a loss of a family member."

FOX News Chief Washington Correspondent Jim Angle called Snow a "gentleman."

Snow is survived by his wife, Jill Ellen Walker, whom he married in 1987; their son, Robbie; and daughters, Kendall and Kristi.

Tony left us all so much.I came across an article Tony wrote about his cancer.

"The moment you enter the Valley of the Shadow of Death, things change. You discover that Christianity is not something doughy, passive, pious, and soft. Faith may be the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. But it also draws you into a world shorn of fearful caution. The life of belief teems with thrills, boldness, danger, shocks, reversals, triumphs, and epiphanies. Think of Paul, traipsing though the known world and contemplating trips to what must have seemed the antipodes (Spain), shaking the dust from his sandals, worrying not about the morrow, but only about the moment.

There’s nothing wilder than a life of humble virtue—for it is through selflessness and service that God wrings from our bodies and spirits the most we ever could give, the most we ever could offer, and the most we ever could do.

Finally, we can let love change everything. When Jesus was faced with the prospect of crucifixion, he grieved not for himself, but for us. He cried for Jerusalem before entering the holy city. From the Cross, he took on the cumulative burden of human sin and weakness, and begged for forgiveness on our behalf.

We get repeated chances to learn that life is not about us—that we acquire purpose and satisfaction by sharing in God’s love for others. Sickness gets us partway there. It reminds us of our limitations and dependence. But it also gives us a chance to serve the healthy. A minister friend of mine observes that people suffering grave afflictions often acquire the faith of two people, while loved ones accept the burden of two people’s worries and fears.
Learning How to Live."

Great News Laura Ingraham Back On Her Radio Show

The conservative talker writes on her website "We are apparently being allowed to return to the airwaves June 30. Keep your fingers crossed." Ingraham had previously posted on her website that her absence from radio "is not of my choosing, nor is it health or family related." Since being off radio for a large part of June, Ingraham found her way onto Fox News, anchoring their new 5pm ET news show. Last week, in an interview with the Washington Post's Howard Kurtz, she claimed "TRN 'barred her from her Washington studio after talks about a new contract hit a snag.'" Her current 5-year deal with TRN expires in September.

Representative Mike Pence,R-IN. ROCKS ~ God Bless Him!

The Democratics have been talking about "doing something" to silence broadcastors like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, and the Internet Christian Conservatives in the form of FCC regulation using the FAIRNESS DOCTRINE. It is a censorship of free speech, and a violation of our First Amendment Rights.

Rep Mike Pence is putting forth this legislation to continue to protect us for another year from use of the Fairness Dontrine, and has agreement of 300 in congress; but only 190 have signed petition.

Pres Bush has agreed to sign. We must motivate those others promised to protect our right as conservatives to speak out for our faith, our conservative views and protection of internet podcasters and blogs.

Mike Pence with Hoosier troops in Tikrit; Pence traveling with General Petraeus

Representative Mike Pence,R-IN., revealed no Democrat has signed the discharge petition for the Broadcaster's Freedom Act. Speaker Pelosi recently admitted to Human Events her support for the 'Fairness' Doctrine.

Rep.Mike Pence Addresses Fairness Doctrine On House Floor...see VIDEO link below.

PLEASE CLICK HERE TO SEE THE VIDEO of Rep. Mike Pence.

Congress is just 23 signatures away from a vote that could finally end the archaic Fairness Doctrine and create a permanent free-market system for talk radio.

Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind.) continues to urge congress members to sign the Broadcaster Freedom Act discharge petition. The petition will “prevent the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) from repromulgating the fairness doctrine,” originally initiated in the 1930s under Franklin Roosevelt.

During its glory days, the Fairness Doctrine was never applied to ensure conservatives’ air time. In fact, conservative voices were shunned while liberal bias seemed to mysteriously remain under the radar of the FCC. The Fairness Doctrine’s attempt at “fairness” created the most imbalanced media atmosphere possible.

Rep. Pence’s bill could kick the Fairness Doctrine to the curb permanently, much to the disdain of Democrats like Sen. John Kerry, Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin, and Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

“I think the Fairness Doctrine ought to be there and I also think equal time doctrine ought to come back. I mean these are the people who wiped out one of the most profound changes in the balance of the media is when the conservatives got rid of the equal time requirements,” said Sen. Kerry. “And the result is that, you know, they’ve been able to squeeze down and squeeze out opinion of opposing views and I think it’s been an important transition in the imbalance of our public.

First, [Democrats] failed on the radio airwaves with Air America, no one wanted to listen,” says a senior adviser to Pelosi. “Conservative radio is a huge threat and political advantage for Republicans and we have had to find a way to limit it.”

The 195 Congress members who have already signed the discharge petition refuse to let this happen. The bill needs 218 signatures for the legislation to get a vote. To date, not one Democrat has broken with Pelosi to support the bill. Nine Republican representatives have also failed to sign the discharge petition.

“If the Broadcaster Freedom Act is brought to the floor of the House of Representatives, I have every confidence that it will pass because, when freedom gets an up-or-down vote in the People’s House, freedom always wins,” said Rep. Pence.

And this.........

Pelosi Supports 'Fairness Doctrine'
by John Gizzi

Human Events

The speaker of the House that a bill by Rep. Mike Pence (R.-Ind.) to outlaw the “Fairness Doctrine” (which a liberal administration could use to silence Rush Limbaugh, other radio talk show hosts and much of the new alternative media) would not see the light of day in Congress during ’08. In ruling out a vote on Pence’s proposed Broadcaster's Freedom Act, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D.-CA.) also signaled her strong support for revival of the “Fairness Doctrine” -- which would require radio station owners to provide equal time to radio commentary when it is requested.

Experts say that the “Fairness Doctrine,” which was ended under the Reagan Administration, would put a major burden on small radio stations in providing equal time to Rush Limbaugh and other conservative broadcasters, who are a potent political force. Rather than engage in the costly practice of providing that time, the experts conclude, many stations would simply not carry Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and other talk show hosts who are likely to generate demands for equal time.

Pelosi to Senate: Filibuster FISA

Although Speaker Pelosi would not specifically call for Sen. Barack Obama to lead a filibuster against Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act legislation in the Senate, she did send a strong signal that she was positive about the talk of filibuster against the surveillance measure by Democratic Sens. Christopher Dodd (CT.) and Russ Feingold (Wisc.)

Recalling that there were many issues before the Senate that she felt deserved but did not get a filibuster -- on the war in Iraq and expansion of the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) that the Administration vetoed, for example -- Pelosi voiced her opinion that “a filibuster focuses on a very important issue” and that the importance of FISA “justifies that.”

The Speaker pointed out that “if the Senate has the ability to filibuster, and “I think there is a great appetite in the public for such a debate on [FISA] to take place. And I think it would be healthy and wholesome.”

.

Wild Thing's comment........

I hope and pray he gets all the signatures he needs for his bill. This is soooo important.

Regarding future plans for Mike Pence, I would love for this man to run for President! I know it is too late this time but WOW if he would run let's sday Mike Pence and Palin. Add Bolton in the mix too. giggle I love how we DO have conservatives out there. It is just sickening that we have none for this election. deep sigh

I am so glad to see this. I want all our conservative talk show hosts to be supportive of each other. So this is
good news and the more they stick together the less chance the left will have trying to get rid of them.

Tim Russert Dies Of Heart Attack

Tim Russert signing off from one of his many Meet The Press shows

New York Post

Tim Russert, NBC journalist and political heavyweight host of "Meet the Press," has died after collapsing at NBC's Washington news bureau, a source said. He was 58 years old.

Russert, who rose from the inside world of politics where he was former New York Gov. Mario Cuomo's press secretary and one-time chief of staff to the late Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan, was able to successfully cross over to political journalism and rise to become one of its leading lights.

In his role as host of the seminal Sunday morning political program "Meet the Press" - which he took over in 1991 - he became renowned for his hard-nosed interviews where he frequently cornered some of Washington's cagiest political figures with tough questions.

Wild Thing's comment.........

Condolences to his family. Although I haven’t watched him for years,he wasn't a giddy and mean Lib like Chris Mathews. I feel for his son loosing his dad and for his wife.

Russert was recording voiceovers for Sunday’s “Meet the Press” program when he collapsed, the network said.

Missing Laura Ingraham? I Sure Am

Laura Ingraham Receives 'WOMAN OF THE YEAR' AWARD

Here is her website for her radio show

JUst a few snipets from her speech she gave with her personal reflections on her 12 year journey in radio and television.

Full text

"Tonight I want to express my gratitude to Michael Harrison and everyone at Talkers who keep this industry informed and on its toes month after month with humor and substance. I also want to thank Mark Masters and the folks at Talk Radio Network who believed in my radio vision five years ago when few others did. My gratitude also goes out to my producers, including Tom Elliott who is here today, as well as the radio giants such as Rush, Don Imus, Sean Hannity and Phil Boyce who gave me great support along the way. "
"As for me, I am humbled and privileged to lead a radio show where I put my mind and heart on the line every day."
"Of course when I think of women who had their share of detractors but who always held firm in their core principles and transformed the world, I think of Margaret Thatcher. "
"As President Reagan said to me the day I walked out of the Oval Office for the last time as a young 20-something, "Make it matter."
"I intend on doing just that for years to come on the airwaves. And I thank you for the encouragement of this honor and I promise to make you proud. "

Shortly after she received the above award she was taken OFF the air

Popular radio talk show host Laura Ingraham has been taken off the air with no explanation.

Laura's show is one of the top five most popular talk radio shows in the nation. Laura is a solid conservative voice on the air.

She is gone with no explanation. All anyone knows is that it is not her choice.

If radio networks can yank a conservative voice who is that popular, they can do it to Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity or anyone else.

Liberals are again agitating to shut down conservative talk radio. They have been pushing "diversity" regulations through the FCC to do just that. Taking out Laura Ingraham is just a step along the way toward shutting down conservative talk radio totally.

Here is a station guide for Laura Ingraham. Please call your local affiliate and tell the station you want Laura Ingraham back on the Laura Ingraham show.

You can stop liberals from shutting down talk radio by standing up for Laura Ingraham.

Sincerely yours,

Erick Erickson

Wild Thing's comment.........

Liberal leaders are pushing the so-called “Fairness Doctrine” to silence conservative leaders like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Mark Levin and Laura Ingraham. Their goal is clear -- silence conservative speech over the radio airwaves.

It’s time to reinstitute the Fairness Doctrine.” -- Sen. Dick Durbin
"In my view, talk radio tends to be one-sided. It also tends to be dwelling in hyperbole. It's explosive. It pushes people to, I think, extreme views without a lot of information…. I’m looking at [the Fairness Doctrine]…. Unfortunately, talk radio is overwhelmingly one way.” --Sen. Dianne Feinstein
"I think the Fairness Doctrine ought to be there ... One of the most profound changes in the balance of the media was when the conservatives got rid of equal time requirements. The result is that they've been able to squeeze down and squeeze out opinion of opposing views." -- Sen. John Kerry

This below is from the PDF file about the Fairness Doctrine. It is a long document, well worth reading, but here is just a snipet.

Political activists and even certain U.S. senators have argued that the federal government should reinstitute the Fairness Doctrine, which would require broadcasters to air both sides of controversial issues. Opponents charge that Fairness Doctrine advocates are trying to reduce the impact of conservative talk radio.

Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind.) has introduced The Broadcaster Freedom Act (HR 2905), which would bar the Federal Communications Commission from reinstating the Fairness Doctrine.

The controversy touches on America’s most fundamental civic values. Do we still cherish freedom of speech, or are some of us succumbing to the tyrannical impulse to stifle the speech of political adversaries? Do our leaders trust us to accept responsibility to govern ourselves, or do they wish to control which information we receive?

Three principal arguments support resurrecting the Fairness Doctrine. First, the “scarcity” argument holds that the airwaves are public property with a limited number of broadcast frequencies, so government can and should intervene if the public debate is out of balance.

Second, the “censorship” argument holds that major corporations are muzzling liberal opinion on the radio, so Americans are not hearing both sides of issues.

Third, the “public interest” argument holds that the Fairness Doctrine would increase the amount and variety of opinions available to the public.

....Thank you Mark.

New York Post Front Page headline: TREASON

COWARDS GIVE UP ON GIS - & GIVE IN TO EVIL
NY POST

by Ralph Peters

As a former soldier who still spends a good bit of time with those in uniform, what infuriates me personally is the Doublespeak, Stalin-Prize lie that undercutting our troops and encouraging our enemies is really a way to "support our troops."

As for bringing them home, why not respect the vote the troops themselves are taking: Sustained re-enlistment rates have been at a record high.

And our soldiers and Marines know they'll go back to Iraq or Afghanistan. And no, Senator Kerry, it's not because they're too stupid to get a "real" job like yours or because they're "mercenaries." Some Americans still believe in America.

If our troops are willing to fight this bitter war, how dare Congress knife them in the back?

On Thursday night, I was in Nashville as a guest of the 506th Regimental Combat Team - with whom I'd spent all too brief a time in Baghdad.

The occasion was their welcome-home ball, complete with dress uniforms spangled with awards for bravery. Proud spouses sat beside their returned warriors.

Of course, those soldiers were glad to be home with their loved ones. But they also know they'll go back to one theater of war or another - and no one complained.

They share a value that Congress has forgotten: duty. They're willing to bear the weight of the world on their shoulders. Because they know that freedom has a price.

As you entered the ballroom for the event, the first thing you saw was a line of 34 photographs. A single white candle softly lit each frame. Those were the members of the 506th who didn't come home.

Soldiers honor their dead. It's the least Congress could do to honor the living men and women in uniform.

You don't support our troops by supporting our enemies.

Wild Thing's comment......

Can you even imagine if someone had proposed such a resolution during WWII??? Kudos to the NY Post. They should have included photos of Murtha, Pelosi and Reid ....heck all of them on the cover.

Former CNN News Chief To Launch 'IraqSlogger' Site

Former CNN News Chief To Launch 'IraqSlogger' Site
Editor & Publisher

NEW YORK — For the past four years there has been no shortage of news and views on Iraq and the long-running war there. What’s been missing: a one-stop-shopping clearinghouse for nonpartisan information, including material coming out of Iraq itself from natives of that country, not from foreign correspondents.

Now that need is finally being addressed in the form of IraqSlogger, in Beta at www.iraqslogger.com, but due to be officially launched next week. Its director is the former CNN news division chief, Eason Jordan, who quit that post suddenly in 2005 after 23 years with the company. The name of his new venture, he says, was inspired by a Donald Rumsfeld reference to this war being a “long, hard slog.”

The concept, Jordan tells E&P, “grew out of the feeling that I think many people shared that there was no one place to go. Individual news organizations do terrific work but you can spend the better part of a day going from one site to another and one TV outlet to another,” searching for a full picture.

“Iraq is the story of our time,” he declares. His goal for the site is for it to become nothing less than “the world’s premier Iraq-focused information source” — and with no “political slant.”

Wild Thing's comment......

Here is a link to Iraq Slogger

OK now a little about this Jordan guy, because this guy is a horrible asshole! ............

November 19, 2004, in which CNN Chief News Executive Eason Jordan is quoted telling a journalists’ conference in Portugal that journalists in Iraq have been arrested and tortured by US forces: US military ‘still failing to protect journalists in Iraq.

Independent journalists operating in Iraq face arrest and even torture at the hands of the US military and the authorities are failing to act on promises to do more to protect them, news organisations have warned.

Eason Jordan, chief news executive at CNN, said there had been only a “limited amount of progress”, despite repeated meetings between news organisations and the US authorities.

“Actions speak louder than words. The reality is that at least 10 journalists have been killed by the US military, and according to reports I believe to be true journalists have been arrested and tortured by US forces,” Mr Jordan told an audience of news executives at the News Xchange conference in Portugal.

Mr Jordan highlighted the case of al-Arabiya journalist Abdel Kader al-Saadi, who was arrested in Falluja last week by US forces and remains in their custody even though no reason has yet been given for his detention.

“These actions and the fact that no one has been reprimanded would indicate that no one is taking responsibility. We hear good words but not the actions to back them up,” he added.

New York Post Speaks Out With Their Frontpage

PANEL KISSES UP TO IRAN & SYRIA
New York Post
WASHINGTON - The Iraq Study Group report delivered to President Bush yesterday contains 79 separate recommendations - but not one that explains how American forces can defeat the terrorist insurgents, only ways to bring the troops home.

Declaring the situation "grave and deteriorating," the high-powered commission proposed the United States talk directly to terror abettors Iran and Syria to get their cooperation, and commit to removing U.S. combat troops in early 2008.

Reaction to the much-anticipated report was swift:

* President Bush called it a "tough" assessment of U.S. involvement in Iraq and said he would treat all of its recommendations seriously, but he didn't publicly embrace any of the proposals.

* White House spokesman Tony Snow later rejected the call for America to have open dialogue with enemy Iran, saying that could happen only after the Islamic state halted uranium enrichment.

* Democrats in Congress heartily embraced the study, saying it offered Bush some good ideas, and put the burden on him to accept some of them.

CNN Totaly In Bed With Islamic Terrorists ~ DESPICABLE!!

Saturday October 21, 2006

Please scroll down for update to this post.

CNN aired a terrorist sniper killing a US soldier. They blacked out the screen when the bullet hit, but that did not stop the sound or description that they went on to share.

According to CNN, “The graphic video of 10 sniper attacks was obtained by CNN -- through intermediaries --from the Islamic Army of Iraq, one of the most active insurgent organizations in Iraq.”

Video on CNN shows snipers' chilling work in Iraq

(CNN) -- Chilling scenes from a videotape made by insurgents show the work of snipers in Iraq, targeting and killing American troops, taking them down with a single bullet from a high-powered rifle.

The graphic video of 10 sniper attacks was obtained by CNN -- through intermediaries -- from the Islamic Army of Iraq, one of the most active insurgent organizations in Iraq.

In one scene, U.S. soldiers mingle among Iraqi civilians on a city street as a U.S. Humvee with a gunner in its turret stands guard nearby.

From a distance, possibly hundreds of yards away, a sniper watches for his opportunity to strike as a fellow insurgent operates a camera to capture the video for propaganda purposes.

In the video, street sounds mix with male Arabic voices as the sniper and his spotter talk off-camera.

"People are around them," warns the spotter, who seems to be operating the video camera. "Want me to find another place?"
"No, no," comes the reply, "give me a moment."

And then, the crack of gunfire is heard and the soldier in the turret slumps forward.

"Allahu Akbar (God is Great)!" is the exclamation as the sniper's vehicle starts and they slip away.

The deadly tactic is one the U.S. military also uses to take out insurgents.

Retired Gunnery Sgt. Jack Coughlin was one of the top U.S. Marine Corps snipers in Iraq and has written a book about his experiences -- "Shooter: The Autobiography of the Top-Ranked Marine Sniper."

"I have over 60 kills," he told CNN's Gary Tuchman. "We seek out the enemy and eliminate them with precision fire."

Tuchman used Coughlin's critical eye to analyze the Islamic Army of Iraq video.

Coughlin said the time lapse between the sound of the shot and the man getting hit indicates the gunfire is coming from about 300 to 500 yards away and probably from a higher angle.

But Couglin said he's sure this team of at least three people has been trained well because they're so calm.

"They have their stuff wired," he said. "They know what they're doing." (Watch the ex-Marine describe snipers' deadly work -- 2:46)

The 20-year Marine veteran said the kind of body armor worn by troops in combat can be effective against a sniper's bullet, and he added that there are other ways to defend against the horrifying attacks.

"The worst enemy of a sniper is another sniper," Coughlin said. "Our snipers are hunting these guys -- I guarantee you this is happening as we speak."

Coughlin added that, in many cases, the best defense is a good offense.

UPDATE:
Lawmaker Outraged by Sniper Footage on CNN
SAN DIEGO — CNN has become "the publicist for an enemy propaganda film" by broadcasting a video showing an insurgent sniper in Iraq apparently killing an American soldier, the chairman of the House Armed Services Committee said here Friday.

Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-El Cajon) called for the Pentagon to oust any CNN reporter embedded with U.S. troops in Iraq.

"I think Americans like to think we're all in this together," Hunter said. "The average American Marine or soldier has concluded after seeing that film that CNN is not on their side."

Another UPDATE:
Armed Services Committee Chairman Calls For Removal of CNN’s Embedded Reporters

CNN recently aired videos supplied by terrorists inside Iraq showing snipers attacking American soldiers. As a result of this outrageous behavior, Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-California), chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, has asked for all of CNN’s reporters currently embedded with U.S. military units be removed.

The chairman of the House Armed Services Committee asked the Pentagon on Friday to remove CNN reporters embedded with U.S. combat troops, saying the network's broadcast of a video showing insurgent snipers targeting U.S. soldiers was tantamount to airing an enemy propaganda film.

The tape, which came to the network through contact with an insurgent leader, was aired Wednesday night on "Anderson Cooper 360" and repeated Thursday.

The article continued:

In a letter to Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., wrote: "CNN has now served as the publicist for an enemy propaganda film featuring the killing of an American soldier."

The letter was also signed by San Diego-area Republican congressmen Darrell Issa and Brian Bilbray.

"This is nothing short of a terrorist snuff film," Bilbray said at a press conference held in San Diego.

CNN officials defended their decision to air the footage. ( GRRRRRRRRRRRRR)

"Our responsibility is to report the news," said Laurie Goldberg, a CNN spokeswoman. "As an organization we stand by our decision and respect the rights of others to disagree with it."

Wild Thing's comment.......

Oust them is the least they should do, charge them with aiding and abetting the enemy with use of known propaganda, they have always been the terrorist sympathizer. In WW2 if if there had been a cable news services like CNN we might all be speaking German today.

Democrat mind set.......Americans too sensitive to see videos of 911 but not to see Muslims pigs shoots soldiers. These cowards were afraid to show the Danish cartoons, even though it was the biggest story in that news cycle. Even though the story was HUGE!

The terrorists went and created that video for the whole purpose of propagandizing their viewpoint. So what do the total dopes at CNN do, they BROADCAST it! One of CNN’s analysts called the sniper attacks the most effective thing they have seen. “The deadly tactic is one the U.S. military also uses to take out insurgents”, according to CNN. They seem be telling them how good they are at using our strategies to kill our men.

I haven't been this angry in a very long time. An American soldier died for these bastards' "news value." What "value" is that, precisely? What does CNN "value" that can excuse this utter moral degeneracy? Is it the sort of moral equivalency that sees no difference between the son of a bitch driving a car bomb into a crowd and the Marine who dies to try to stop him? Is it "all the same thing" when looked at from the lofty heights of an editorial desk in Atlanta? What sort of a sordid, miserable excuse for a human being could manage to justify this outrageous glorification of murder and have the spit-shined brass balls to try to pass it off as "news value"?

This is from one of the soldiers that is in country right now regarding the CNN embedded reporters.......

"I hated those weasly little bastards. They were a huge hindrence on patrol. One more unarmed idiot to have to look out for. They would do incredibly stupid stuff to get footage in a firefight. I finally told my guys not to provide covering fire for then any more. Just let the f***er get his ass shot. One of them had an AK round go clean through his camera. He could not stop shaking for about an hour. Inside, we were lauging our asses off at him."

Update: October 24, 2006

Some of our awesome snipers in country in today's war with Islam. Faces blurred out for their protection.

Legendary snipers became the role models. Snipers such as Gunnery Sgt. Carlos Hathcock, a Marine sniper in Vietnam with 98 confirmed kills, Sgt. 1st Class. Randy Shugart and Master Sgt. Gary Gordon, two Delta Force snipers, who died in Somalia in 1993 trying to rescue a downed crew of a MH-60 Black Hawk during the battle of Mogadishu.

As you know I am a big supporter of our military and when I started this blog one of the links I wanted to make sure I had in my sidebar was a place online called Americansnipers.org. It has been there since this blog began on September 21, 2005.

I am so pleased to see others supporting the efforts of the Americansnipers.org especially now after what CNN has done in their aiding the enemy with their showing of the video snuff film sent to them by the enemy. They just had to show it and not once but over and over again. We all wrote letters to CNN, phoned CNN (404-827-2600) and showed our disgust for what they have done and the stand they have taken to side with the enemy.

Here are some places at their site:

Two years ago I ordered this dog tag from Americansnipers.org. I keep it on my key chain. I loved it so much I ordered more to give as gifts to the troops in their care packages. I have ordered other things and donated, this is just one of the items they have.

Jihad Pat Buchanan Is Going To Hell

Buchanan doesn't even try to hide his anti-semitism any longer.

Jihad Pat makes it sound like all the widdle ayrabs did was capture 2 Israeli soldiers. But, what about the withdrawal from Gaza and land for peace? What about the missiles from Lebanon and Gaza when it rained down on civilians? What about the eight soldiers ambushed and killed by Hezbollah coming across the border as a clear act of war? Pat is flying the crescent flag outside his window!!!!

Pat did not reproach Hezbollah for the kidnappings and murder of hundreds of Americans back in the 80s. True Christians as well as Jews, understand that Hezbully Islam is Iran Incorporated.

Hey Pat, the blood is on your hands of the 9th Century knuckledraggers, not the Israelis. But then, I doubt you're capable of understanding this.

Pat Al-Buchanan ought to defect to Iran so he can be a speech-writer for Ahmadinajad.

Joao Silva and NY Times Work Together To Kill Our Soldiers

Joao Silva for The New York Times A terrorist sniper loyal to Shiite terrorist Moqtada al Sadr fires towards U.S. positions in the cemetery in Najaf, Iraq while being admired by Joao Silva of the treasonous The New York Times. Copyright 2006 The New York Times Company

Joao Silva also with the U.S. Army 4th Infantry Division on the outskirts of Hibhib, Iraq, June 10, 2006 prior to his sharing US intel to New York Times readers/terrorists working to murder Americans for Moqtada al Sadr and the New York Times while photographing them attempting to snipe Americans.

The picture featured by the Times is just one of many being shown here as a photo compilation titled "In the Company of God" by New York Times photographer, Joao Silva.

Wild Thing's comment.......
So Joao Silva and the New York Times working together to kill our American soldiers. How much more are we supposed to allow this to go on? When is something going to be done. Joao Silva's pictorial tribute to Iraqi terrorists killing American soldiers to pure treason and nothing less. And so is the New York Times.

How ANYONE can stand by and watch a terrorist aim at one of our soldiers just to get a good photo is unforgivable. I mean this I will cheer and make a special toast when Joao Silva dies.

New York Times Is Home Grown Terror

Beware of travel feature stories posing as invitations to terror.

"The New York Times points cranks, radicals, al-Qaida operatives and would-be assassins to the summer homes of V.P. Cheney and [Defense Secretary Donald] Rumsfeld" writes FrontPage Magazine's David Horowitz, who sees the June 30 Times feature article as an apparent retaliation for administration "criticism of the Times' disclosure of classified intelligence to America's enemies."

In the "Escapes" section of the June 30 edition, the N.Y. Times printed huge color photos of the vacation residences of Cheney and Rumsfeld, "identifying the small Maryland town where they live, showing their front driveways and, in Rumsfeld's case, actually pointing out the hidden security camera in case any hostile intruders should get careless," Horowitz writes.

Times Travel section writer Peter Kilborn even makes sure enemies of the two men will know such details as where Mrs. Rumsfeld shops in the eastern shore town of St. Michaels, Md. where the two administration officials have weekend retreats.

He even lets the curious know what street the Cheneys and Rumsfelds have to use to get to their own road.

It's all part of the war against President Bush, Horowitz charges.

"Make no mistake about it, there is a war going on in this country," Horowitz advises, noting that the aggressors in this war "are Democrats, liberals and leftists who began a scorched earth campaign against President Bush before the initiation of hostilities in Iraq."

One of the most prevalent weapons in this war, according to Horowitz, is the New York Times.

.

Hot Air put together a short film focusing particularly on the hypocrisy of the New York Times when it comes to fighting the War on Terror.

.

N.Y.Times Retaliates Against Cheney, Rumsfeld

US Traitors Keller and Pinch Sulzberger in the "Escapes" section of the June 30 N.Y. Times have printed huge color photos of the vacation residences of Cheney and Rumsfeld, identifying where they live, showing their front driveways and, conveniently in SoD Rumsfeld's case, actually pointing out the hidden security camera.

It's title and here it is................
Weekends With the President's Men

PLEASE NOTE under the photo you will see where the New York Times has added this.................

There is a lens in the birdhouse at the driveway of Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld's home at St. Michaels, Md.

Wild Thing's comment.....

The New York Times is a national security threat! This is more than just an ideological war between the White House and the NYT. The NYT is almost calling for a strike on VP Cheney and Rummy.

The liberals like to talk about how they are the ones who care for individual humans. They do NOT! Time after time they have show a propensity to infringe on individuals rights. Any idiot would know not to publish this private information as part of the "public's right to know." when you have terrorists deployed worldwide looking for a target for publicity.

Bill Keller and others at the New York Times need to be prosecuted. Tokyo Rose would be proud.

How The Media Does Things

The Media Helping The Enemy Needs To Stop

Most of the Speech Given at the American Enterprise Institute

To get home, or back to work, you have to go through those doors there. Now, lets pretend those doors may be booby trapped and the first person and anyone within 5 feet of the doors is going to get some shrapnel. But, you gotta cross the threshold. And, on the other side of the doors, there might be a guy with an RPK machine gun waiting to throw some lead at you. And down the hall, there may be a guys hiding around the corners with AK-47s. But, after all that, you make it outside, where there could be snipers. Then you make it to your car or cab, and then there is a chance someone is waiting to blow you up with an IED. And, once you have made it home, there is a good chance someone is going to try and lob a mortar or rocket into your subdivision.

That is what it is like to be a Marine infantryman, or, a photographer who spent 5 months with a Marine infantry platoon in Al Anbar province.

Now, after hearing that scenario, if you said, ‘no thanks,’ congratulations: you are normal. But if you heard that and said, ‘heh, whatever’ I know some recruiters who may want to talk to you. Most reporters, being normal, aren’t exactly eager to chase grunts around Al Anbar.

In spring of 2005, I left my life behind and traveled to Iraq as an embedded reporter.

I spent 5 months living with a Marine infantry platoon, walking the streets of places like Karmah, Amiriya, and Ferris. I spent days and weeks outside the wire, sleeping on the dirt, lining up in the stack as the Marines hit target houses and all the time those nights and days punctuated with the call to prayer.

I drank tea and smoked cigarettes with sheiks and Imams. I sat down and ate with men who led villages and families. I bartered with shop keepers for sodas and cigarettes, played soccer with kids. And, I spent a lot of time getting sun burned.

Punctuated by the rare few minutes of intense violence, most of the time the Marines chatted up the locals, gathered intel and chased leads.

I have concluded, based both on my experience, and the reports of other newsmen, that an unconscionable amount of what we in the press have been feeding the American public regarding the war in Iraq is fashioned by the propaganda arms of our enemies. Ba’athist kidnappers and Jihadi bombers are planning their operations not to win the war in Iraq, but to win it in America. To that end, they are assessing what American reporters are willing to cover, and what American news organizations are willing to risk.

This has been made abundantly clear in Al Qaida documents recently released by Centcom and the Coalition. An excerpt of the translated document reads:

The policy followed by the brothers in Baghdad is a media oriented policy without a clear comprehensive plan to capture an area or an enemy center. In other words, the significance of the strategy of their work is to show in the media that the American and the government does not control the situation and there is resistance against them.

Stated simply: Al Qaida is not even trying to win the war on the ground anymore. It is attempting to win the war in the press.

And they’re doing pretty well. On April 2, 2005, when Al Qaeda in Iraq attempted to assault Abu Ghraib prison, I was the only reporter there. The unit I was with was patrolling the area as part of a week-long op, and caught the tail end of the assault. The Marines didn’t think much of it. The main result was a bunch of dead insurgents. The next day, when the sun came up, we saw the v-beds that didn’t even make it off the highway and the remnants of so-called lions of taweed.

It wasn’t until we were back in base, watching TV in the chow hall, that we discovered that the failed assault was “BIG NEWS” and reporters were showing up after the fact. Two-to-three days after the fact.

As a Marine Colonel told me. Al Qaeda lost that fire-fight in Iraq, but they won on CNN.

In the Spring of 2005 -- before I went to Iraq -- while I was going from TV station to TV station selling my syndicated news reports to local News Directors, I used a very simple sales pitch:

I would ask: How often do you air coverage of the war? Every day, in some form right? They would nod yes. Then I would ask: how often do you get a local tie-in? They would think about it, but I already knew the answer. For local TV stations there are only 4 Iraq stories:

Local Units leaves, local boy killed in action, wife of local boy being screwed over by the mortgage holder, local unit comes home. On one station I saw them hit the Superfecta with all four stories in one night.

Then, I would ask: How often do you have footage and an interview with a local boy, a grunt out there fighting the war on terror with video of him in action?

The answer was invariably never.

Some of the stations bought my feeds on the spot. And if I could make money going to Iraq as a one person shop, and Michael Yon, Bill Roggio and Michael Totten can report from Iraq with support only from tip jars on their blogs, then there is obviously a market for news beyond the daily car bombing.

But you wouldn’t know it from the war coverage on network and cable news.

The two most common are the Balcony shot of a reporter recapping the latest car bombing, and the computerized map showing the latest bombing. Less often, you get an interview with some Iraqis, nearly always in Baghdad invariably saying how bad things are. And in the rarest of these a real live U.S. newsman reports with a coalition unit, usually long after a major event, as in “Tal Afar six months later,” “Mosul six month later,” and the one I saw most, “Fallujah Six months later.” And of course, “Abu Ghriad, two days after a major attack.”

Al Qaida and its fellow travelers have used violence, kidnappings and the ever present threat of violence against reporters to lock down news coverage.

With Western reporters holed up in bunkers, their view of the war is filtered by Iraqi stringers, who as noted by the Center for Strategic and International Studies, may be plants for the terrorists, terrorist sympathizers or feeling the same pressures of violence felt by Western reporters.

The only thing this kind of news-gathering yields is the result of terrorist violence. But that, of course, is the insurgents’ goal —to create the perception in the western media that Iraq is out of control.

What you will not see in the media is what I saw in Iraq…a lot of every day life.

For every minute of violence and danger, there would be days of eating flat bread, drinking tea, and sitting around in positions hoping to get shot at.
Yes, trying to get shot at. At least one third of the operations I went on with the Marines were bait and kill operations—why my platoon was always the bait, I don’t know, it just worked out that way.
In the media, you never hear of the units where everyone came home alive. There are no stories about an operation in which the high-light was the tribal Sheik insisting the Platoon come to his son’s wedding. There is never the tag line—In other news, most Iraqis went about their business of saving up enough money to buy a satellite dish and pay their cell phone bill—yes, every mud hut seems to come equipped with a satellite dish—so they too can watch the latest news about a car bombing in Baghdad in between Jordanian soap operas.
The terrorist goal of winning through the media has worked.
The result is a picture of Iraq in which small slices are accurate-- the basic facts about the recent bombing are accurate—but where the majority of the canvass is left blank, turning the small slices into the entire portrait.
“Iraq is unquestionably the biggest story of our time, and one which will affect American foreign and domestic policy for the rest of our lives -- but if news organizations won't invest the money and manpower to cover it from top to bottom, it will end up becoming a story told only through its major disasters and victories, without many of the small, personal narratives and struggles that give the story its humanity.”

New York Times At It Again

From the NYT basicallly they are saying.........Do Not Help the U.S.

In a startling breach of international etiquette, the New York Times today warned foreign intelligence services not to assist the United States. The warning was backed by public disclosure of highly secretive assistance provided to the U.S. military on the eve of the Iraq War.

"German intelligence services helped the United States invade Baghdad, and will now pay the price," the Times effectively told intelligence services worldwide. As it has in the past, the Times published classified information to bolster its latest attack on U.S. interests.

Foreign intelligence services are now on notice that the so-called "newspaper of record" intends to publicize their interactions with counterparts in the United States, despite any assurances of secrecy.

The Times also warned Middle Eastern leaders that it will disclose any surreptitious help they might provide.

"[Egyptian President] Mubarak quietly allowed United States aerial refueling tankers to be based at an Egyptian airfield," the Times revealed. Such assistance is often a delicate matter for leaders in the region, who in the past have relied on U.S. assurances of secrecy when undertaking actions which might expose them to domestic embarrassment and possible assassination.

The government of Saudi Arabia was another "silent partner," the Times revealed, allowing Delta Force and other American Special Operations Forces to mount attacks in Iraq from a secret base at Arar. Saudi leaders have so far remained silent on the Times' disclosure of their involvement.

Cartoonist Tom Toles is DESPICABLE

.

Tom Toles editorial cartoon published in The Washington Post on Monday has drawn a very rare and very strong protest letter to the editors from all six members of The Joint Chiefs of Staff.

The letter, not yet published by the Post, charges that the six military leaders "believe you and Mr. Toles have done a disservice to your readers and your paper's reputation by using such a callous depiction of those who have volunteered to defend this nation, and as a result, have suffered traumatic and life-altering wounds. ... As the Joint Chiefs, it is rare that we all put our hand to one letter, but we cannot let this reprehensible cartoon go unanswered."

The spokeswoman said a letter from all six joint chiefs to anyone, let alone a newspaper, is rare, but the cartoon so offended them, they wanted to let their feelings be known. "It was expressing their disappointment with the paper and outrage at using that image to make a political point," said Lt. Col. Diane Battaglia. "That is a rare occurrence, but the level of inappropriateness prompted a response of unanimous support."

Battaglia said Post editors told her office that the letter would be published in Thursday's paper. Editorial Page Editor Fred Hiatt declined to comment on the letter. "My policy is I can't talk about letters until we publish them," , "If and when a letter runs, I'd be happy to talk about it."

The letter, signed by Gen. Peter Pace, chairman of the Joint Chiefs, Admiral Edmund P. Giambastini, Jr., the vice-chairman, and the four other military branch leaders -- and addressed to the Post's managing editor, Philip Bennett -- reveals that they were "extremely disappointed" in the Toles cartoon. "Using the likeness of a service member who has lost his arms and legs in war as the central theme of a cartoon is beyond tasteless," they wrote.

They observed that the paper is "obviously free to address any topic," even use exaggeration. But they added: "While you or some of your readers may not agree with the war or its conduct, we believe you owe the men and women and their families who so selflessly serve our country the decency to not make light of their tremendous physical sacrifices."

Here is the pdf file of the letter from the Joint Chiefs of Staff

In case you cannot open a pdf file here is the letter.

Mr. Philip Bennett
Managing Editor, The Washington Post
1150 15th Street NW
Washington, DC 20071

To The Editor of the Washington Post:

We were extremely disappointed to see the editorial cartoon by Tom Toles on page B6 in the January 29 edition. Using the likeness of a service member who has lost his arms and legs in war as the central theme of a cartoon is beyond tasteless. Editorial cartoons are often designed to exaggerate issues - and your paper is obviously free to address any topic, including the state of readiness of today's Armed Forces. However, we believe you and Mr.Toles have done a disservice to your readers and your paper's reputation by using such a callous depiction of those who have volunteered to defend this nation, and as a result, have suffered traumatic and lifealtering wounds.

Those who visit with wounded veterans in local hospitals have found lives profoundly changed by pain and loss. They have also found brave men and women with a sense of purpose and selfless commitment that causes truly battle-hardened warriors to pause. Where do we get such men and women? From the cities, and farmlands of this great Nation - they serve to be a part of something bigger than themselves. While you or some of your readers may not agree with the war or its conduct, we believe you owe the men and women and their families who so selflessly serve our country the decency to not make light of their tremendous physical sacrifices.

As the Joint Chiefs, it is rare that we all put our hand to one letter, but we cannot let this reprehensible cartoon go unanswered.

Sincerely,

PETER PACE

Helen Thomas - Maniac at Large

Wild Thing comment..........Well, well, well we all know who ole Helen Thomas is and a-hem how she just doesn't like President Bush. He is not her type. I just don't think she likes cowboy's. But we know she likes the terrorists since she wants so badly for us to leave them alone. Why she even thinks we should have left Saddam alone. Now go figure!!! I guess she has a thang' for mass graves and rapists and murderers.

Here Ladies and Gentlemen we have a little article that Helen has written all about her 'feelings'. I would say columnist but then that would be using the term loosely. Ann Coulter is a columnist not the creature from the dark lagoon Helen Thomas. And psst Helen......it is not "who" it is whom, Helen, for whom. You call yourself a writer? yikes!

Just follow the link to the liars article to read what she had to say. Now Helen dear, NOT, you are very aware of the schools that have opened, the electricity that now exists, the water that is now running, the 30,000 businesses that now have opened and so much more since our Troops went into Iraq and got rid of Saddam in power and his two totally mad sons. Not to mention the elections, where they just voted for their own government......... tisk tisk, naughty you Helen.

If War Was Right, For Who?...Boston Channel

Poor Helen, poor bitter, lonely, hateful Helen. She's one person who really needs her stocking stuffed. I bet it's been years. Maybe that's why she's so mean.

I have an idea....Put her in the cell with Saddam. Tell him he has 71 more just like her waiting for him.

Chris Matthews Says Terrorists Aren't Evil

From the Edmonton Sun

TORONTO -- Years after 9-11 and the "crazy Zeitgeist" that permeated the United States, Americans have still not learned to know their enemies instead of just hating them, said American political journalist Chris Matthews yesterday.

In a speech to political science students at the University of Toronto, the host of the CNBC current affairs show Hardball had plenty of harsh words for U.S. President George W. Bush, as well as the political climate that has characterized his country for the last few years.

"The period between 9-11 and (invading) Iraq was not a good time for America. There wasn't a robust discussion of what we were doing," Matthews said."If we stop trying to figure out the other side, we've given up. The person on the other side is not evil. They just have a different perspective.

"The smartest people understand the enemy's point of view, because they understand what's driving them."

Wild Thing's comment.....Now wait just a sliced Turkey minute here! The terrorists are not evil they just have different perspective? Hey Chris once again you have established you are brain dead. Won't you be surprised when you learn they want you dead just like the rest of us.

Article also discussed at:
* Blackfive
* Michelle Malkin

He said Bush squandered an opportunity to unite the world against terrorism and instead made decisions that built up worldwide animosity for his administration.

"We had a strong international unity coming out of 9-11. The world was never so united against terrorism and we lost that," Matthews said. "That is the great tragedy of the Bush era."

When asked what caused the U.S. to invade Iraq, he said it was a combination of factors.

"I think the father-son relationship with the Bushes is part of it. I think the oil thing is part of it," Matthews said of the current president and his father, George Bush Sr., who was president during the Gulf War more than a decade ago.

"Our friendship with Israel (is part of it) and 9-11 created a kind of crazy Zeitgeist in the country. Bush wanted to do something big. It couldn't just be tracking down al-Qaida. He wanted a big bang. I think it's a mixture of these things."

Matthews said the current president is guilty of not knowing enough about the world and not keeping up with current events, as was evident in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina and the slow reaction to the crisis in New Orleans.

Hey! CNN You Can't Handle The Truth!

CNN Smears X Across VP Cheney During Live Speech

At 11:04:45 AM ET Monday CNN was airing Vice President Dick Cheney's speech live from the American Enterprise Institute in Washington -- when a large black 'X' repeatedly flashed over the Vice President's face!

The 'X' over Cheney's face appeared each time less than a second, creating an odd subliminal effect. While one 'X' flashed over Cheney's face CNN ran a headline at the bottom of its screen: "CHENEY: I DO NOT BELIEVE IT IS WRONG TO CRITICIZE."

One top White House source expressed concern about what was aired over CNN.

"Is someone in Atlanta trying to tell us something?"

A CNN spokesman did not return repeated calls late Monday night.

Over at The Political Teen he has the video of this.

Well the old communist news network is hard at work. It gets more blantant all the time. I have decided to rename the Democratic party. Since they favor the Terrorists, give aid to the terrorists ( Code Pink and their check to the insurgents), carry posters that say " We will support the troops when they shoot their officers, and stand outside Walter Reid Hospital ranting and holding up vile signs and the list is a mile long what they have done...............From now on I will call them TerrorCrats!

UPDATE:The comment by a man named John above as you can see suggested to look at the update on Michelle Milkens blog. Apparently it was allegedly ony a glitch that occured. So I will go with that.
The comment made to my post has an email that states TV director here is the link to Michelle with an kind of sort of explanation........................Michelle's update

As I just stated I will go with the allegedly it was a glitch. What will confirm this more with me if it is happens sometime with a TerrorCrat instead of a Republican and a Vice President at that.

Wild Thing's note to CNN.............. how about referring to our President as President and NO longer MR. Bush. Afterall this is the most powerful country in the entire world and one should show respesct for the office even if you hate President Bush. That would help toward convincing me it was in truth a glitch. Over and out- Wild Thing

New York Times Doctoring GI's Quotes!

I must be a positive thinker, because I keep thinking the lies from the Media might one day stop. They might see the light and change their wicked, wicked ways. But it just is not going to happen in my lifetime or anyone else's!

The New York Times has taken the words of a U.S. soldier who was killed in Iraq to make it seem that he thought his mission was senseless. The truth is exactly the opposite.

Here are the words from US Marine Corporal Jeffrey B. Starr in a letter he had written to his girlfriend.................

"Obviously if you are reading this then I have died in Iraq. I kind of predicted this, that is why I'm writing this in November. A third time just seemed like I'm pushing my chances. I don't regret going, everybody dies but few get to do it for something as important as freedom. It may seem confusing why we are in Iraq, it's not to me. I'm here helping these people, so that they can live the way we live. Not have to worry about tyrants or vicious dictators. To do what they want with their lives. To me that is why I died. Others have died for my freedom, now this is my mark."

And this is the version that the NYT's had.....................

Sifting through Corporal Starr's laptop computer after his death, his father found a letter to be delivered to the marine's girlfriend. "I kind of predicted this," Corporal Starr wrote of his own death. "A third time just seemed like I'm pushing my chances."

The letter was sent to Michelle Malkin. And at Mudville Gazette, Grayhawk also takes a look back on a few examples of the New York Times attacks on American GIs in the past. Kelli Pundit talks about it too.

The Interview with Stephen Dupont (embedded journalist)

Jason has transcribed the interview with the embedded journalist, Steven Dupont.

"Stephen says that he does believe that the Airborne unit was burning the corpses of the two Taliban soldiers for hygenic purposes. We can get into rotting corpses later, but for our purposes here, lets keep it simple. The Airborne troops were ordered by their officers in the field to burn the corpses because they had been in the elements for 24 hours and were beginning to smell. Stephen recognizes that this was the intent of the Airborne troops, and it WAS NOT the intent of the Airborne troops to desecrate the bodies. As we’ll see a little later, the corpses were NOT placed deliberately facing West (toward Mecca) and that the corpses were merely burned for hygenic purposes.

We also see that the PsyOps group, in the opinion of Stephen Dupont, who was also on the scene for the later psychological operation, did INTEND to use statements designed to imply that the burning of the bodies was to desecreate them, to humiliate the Taliban soldiers taking refuge in the village. The PsyOps troops are not playing patty-cake here and Dupont realized this. Dupont admits that the PsyOps groups understood that their role was to inflict MENTAL STRESS on the holed up Taliban fighters with the INTENT to provoke them into coming out and fighting the Airborne troops guarding the perimeter. Dupont recognizes that PsyOps is a weapon of war."

Wild Thing comment....
This is not the end I am sure, but IMO it never should have been a "situation" to deal with. Our troops are busting their butts in Afghanistan, Iraq and all over the world. They deserve better then to have to answer for every breath they take, every shot that is fired and every bomb that goes off. We are winning this war, I believe that. Sure it is not going to be over in a few years, and we will loose precious lives. But if we keep letting the media, the lefties run this war from their desks, and from the street corners around the world......the terrorists will win. Those that make something out of nothing, they are aiding the enemy.....bet on it! Funny thing though.....the Terrorists want those aiding them just as dead as they want you and I that support our troops. That should tell us all how stupid the lefties are.
Thanks again Jason for the work you are doing on this.

Get The Agenda Seekers OUT of This War NOW!

The headlines scream out.....
U.S. Troops Burned Taliban Bodies

"Under the Geneva Conventions, soldiers must ensure that the "dead are honorably interred, if possible according to the rites of the religion to which they belonged."

Furthermore, the rules state that bodies should not be cremated, "except for imperative reasons of hygiene or for motives based on the religion of the deceased."

If you read the article you will see where it says...."The soldiers who burned the bodies said they did so for hygiene reasons." The Taliban soldiers had been dead for over 24 hours and were begining to become a concern.

And who the heck is Stephen Dupont?

His portfolio or shall we say what it REALLY is.....his AGENDA.... shows us: Children of the Wall in Palestine - boxers in Cuba - Inside Jihad - The Lions Last Roar in Afghanistan.

Please read what Jason Coleman and Dan Riehl have to say. Jason and Dan did an awesome job of research on this.

Wild Thing comment....
I remember when our soldiers were burned in a destroyed vehicle. Then dragged through the streets, dismembered, disemboweled and strung up on a bridge as trophes. And you can read this too from 2004, where they frenzied crowds dragged the burned, mutilated bodies of four American contractors through the streets of a town west of Baghdad on Wednesday and strung two of them up from a bridge after rebels ambushed their SUVs.
Well??? How soon people forget these horrors! And there was NO media outrage at this, but you can bet there will be about our soldiers buring dead bodies of Taliban. Sheesh!

And how many innocent people were burned to death on Sept.11,2001 because of Osama and the Taliban.

As for me I have had it with these agenda seekers and their attempts at attacking our troops. Have we lost our minds to political correctness? We're fighting a war. Why would we care what Islamic scum think about desecration of DEAD Taliban, when they behead LIVE people? I guess the video of Muslims sawing the head off a live American civilian wasn't worse? I have had about e-freakin'-nuff! Get the reporters off the front line. We don't have to see every single thing that occurs in theatre. Enough. The enemy can burn and behead and dangle and dismember and there's no outcry. Keep the press away and let our troops fight this war like they know how! It is a fact that the Taliban, when they ran Afghanistan, massacred Afghans and skinned their victims .... alive.

I for one, am very sick and tired of hearing 'we are better, we don't do that, we are above that'.

So, go ahead and try to impress the world that WE are 'above that' and see where we end up. I can tell you where we end up. A woman's panties placed on the head of a killer is more horrible than a beheading and is grounds for years in prison!!!!!! How insane is that? Our military are ham-strung, no beheading allowed. We are being sooooo 'above' the killers that we will all be dead when they say we are so above the terrorists.

Video Teleconference: Service Members Speak with President Bush

How many times have we read, seen on TV news and heard on the radio the propaganda of the left Media machine! It never ends, the slant to destroy the truth, to cover up the good things our military does, the negative side of war and never the many good things our troops are doing. Well I am sick of it and furious!

Today the Commander-in-Chief, President Bush, spoke with service members located in Tikrit.

Tikrit, Iraq, via video teleconference from the White House complex in Washington, Thursday, Oct. 13, 2005

Here is the anti-war, Military haters, leftie Media news reported....
Bush Teleconference With Soldiers Staged

Here is one of the idiots statements with his propaganda and slant of course!......

Paul Rieckhoff, director of the New York-based Operation Truth, an advocacy group for U.S. veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan, denounced the event as a "carefully scripted publicity stunt."

And here is what really happened!

Statement from Pentagon Spokesman Lawrence Di Rita

U. S. forces are proud of their service in Iraq. The service members who spoke with the President from Tikrit today are proud of the opportunity to discuss their service with the Commander-in-Chief.

The event was technologically challenging and required organization and preparation. The soldiers were advised as to the issues they should expect to discuss, and decided among themselves who would speak to each issue as it may arise.

The service members were excited about the opportunity to speak with the President. No one intended to tell them what to think or how to express themselves; going through likely questions in advance was meant solely to help the troops feel at ease during an obviously unique experience.

All of us at the Department of Defense are proud of the chance to serve the troops who serve the country, and we appreciate any opportunity to help them tell their story. On behalf of these fine young men and women, we certainly regret any perception that they were told what to say. It is not the case.

Wait Till the Facts Come In

I have lost count how many times I get furious with the reporting on TV and in the newspapers as the media does their typical negative reporting on the War in Iraq, Afghanistan and so many things. Selective reporting that I am so sick of and angry with, and the negative bent used to push their own agenda of the left.

If you feel as I do, then please go to Major K’s blog and read what he has written about this. He also has a great quote by General Sherman. MajorK is in the US Army and deployed to Iraq.

The First Report Is Always Wrong
