CNN: Rush Limbaugh's Controversial Push To Buy NFL Team

Rick Sanchez of CNN Ran Over a Man Then Fled the Scene. Two Hours Later, Sanchez Was Still Drunk.

Red State Blog

Rick Sanchez quoted Rush Limbaugh on CNN and the quote was fabricated. The racially insensitive quote attributed to Limbaugh was made up on the internet and not uttered by Rush.

Sanchez has refused to apologize for using the quote in a hit job on Limbaugh designed to destroy Limbaugh’s bid for the St. Louis Rams.

Here is what is real.

Rick Sanchez ran over a man and left the guy for dead.

It was December 10, 1990. Sanchez was leaving a Miami Dolphins game when he ran over a man. Sanchez fled the scene for two hours.

Finally, Sanchez came back. Two hours after the incident, Sanchez was still drunk — well above the legal limit. But Sanchez was a well known Miami reporter with lots of friends on the police force. He was never charged with the hit and run. He just pled no contest to DUI.

The man Sanchez hit and ran away from? He died in 1995, paralyzed and in a nursing home.

This is the guy who decided to take to television this week and moralize against Rush.

Mark Levin Show

On Wednesday's Mark Levin Show:

Mark Levin - audio from yesterday - supporting Rush, destroying Sharpton

Mark discusses Rush Limbaugh being denied a chance to be one of the owners of the St. Louis Rams. This wasn't a big deal until Al Sharpton came around and started lambasting him for being a conservative. This is more than just ownership of a football team, this is about liberty and being able to participate in this society as a legal citizen, and Rush is being denied that.

So, Mark brings up some of Al Sharpton's past shady dealings and asks where was the outrage against him back then? He also calls Al Sharpton the new Commissioner of the NFL, since apparently he now runs what the NFL decides. Also, Michele Bachmann calls in and discusses a one-day fundraising blitz to counter Nancy Pelosi.

This audio is FULL of information about Rick Sanchez at CNN as well. Mark did an awesome thing, thank you Mark for your support of Rush.

Congresswoman Jackson Lee Ask NFL To Put Ownership Standards In Place

The Hill

Rush Limbaugh responded to her : "I wonder if Ms. Jackson Lee has any regard for the truth. Does she have any regard for hoping, desiring to sound intelligent and knowledgeable, or is she content to be happy and proud to go the floor of the House of Representatives and make a fool of herself?
"What makes [Jackson Lee] a sports expert?" Limbaugh asked.
Limbaugh asserted that the media and Democrats are spreading "lies and fabrications and misstatements" about him, suggesting that his comments on McNabb have been distorted.
He added, "She can say what she wants. These are the people who have power over us ... I don't have any power over Sheila Jackson Lee and I don't seek any power over Sheila Jackson Lee. She, on the other hand, is the opposite. She wants power over not just me, but of as many people she can get."

McGraw Milhaven Morning talk show host on KTRS St. Louis

Milhaven:

"This by definition is a high tech lynching, There are people out there - especially some St. Louis sports writers - who don't like Rush Limbaugh's politics. And they make up quotes. And do anything they can do to besmirch the man, to defile him, so they make it as awful as possible so that the NFL says, 'This is too toxic. I don't want to touch it.'" This is a high tech lynching"

MEDIA RESEARCH CENTER'S BRENT BOZELL RESPONDS TO CNN AND MSNBC'S CHARACTER ASSASSINATION OF RUSH LIMBAUGH: "I HOPE YOU HAVE GOOD LAWYERS"

Media Research Center President Reports Back on CNN, MSNBC Character Assassination of Rush Limbaugh, Issues Ultimatum to All Media Spreading Racist Lies

Yesterday, MRC President Brent Bozell promised to report back publicly with how CNN and MSNBC responded to his challenge to put up – or shut up – proof that Rush Limbaugh actually stated the racist quote that both cable networks attributed to him as fact, or to immediately retract and apologize for their participation in spreading an outlandish lie. Talk show giant Limbaugh denied having ever stated, “Slavery built the South. I’m not saying we should bring it back. I’m just saying it had its merits. For one thing, the streets were safer after dark.” Further, it has been established that this was a fabrication pushed through the Internet, intentionally designed to destroy Mr. Limbaugh’s reputation at a time he is attempting to purchase a professional football team.

In addition to this public call to action, Mr. Bozell overnighted letters to CNN President Jonathan Klein and MSNBC President Phil Griffin to ensure both took the matter seriously.

Both CNN and MSNBC failed to respond appropriately.

CNN’s Rick Sanchez, who was responsible for pushing this lie initially, had the gall to repeat the lie but this time also attaching Mr. Limbaugh’s denial, suggesting the truth was unclear when the truth is absolutely crystal clear. CNN neither apologized nor retracted.

MSNBC was even worse. This disgraceful network continued to repeat this smear on MSNBC Live.

Neither showed any initiative to source the fabricated quote, nor did either network retract or apologize for spreading the false propaganda on their broadcast airwaves. Instead, both CNN and MSNBC repeated the fictitious statement that was created to smear Rush Limbaugh and his character.

MRC President Brent Bozell issued the following statement:

“The CNN and MSNBC ‘news’ networks are guilty of promoting outright falsehoods and purposely using fabricated disinformation created by left-wing radicals to destroy a conservative leader. There is no grey area here. CNN and MSNBC were given ample opportunity to come clean, but both are continuing to masquerade malicious lies as credible.
“Perhaps if they spent less time fact-checking SNL comedy skits and more time fact-checking what they laughably call ‘news,’ they would have a chance to salvage their tattered reputations, sinking even faster with this intentional character assassination.
“We are tabulating exactly who has engaged in this smear campaign and will reveal a complete list of willful participants at a press conference next week. Everyone now knows that these statements attributed to Rush are lies. Those who have repeated them have 24 hours to retract and publicly apologize – or you will be named among those intentionally engaged in character assassination.
“I understand Mr. Limbaugh has threatened legal action. I hope you all have good lawyers.

Comments

I'm sick of the Rush and Beck bashing. Rush was dumped from his group because of the "bad" publicity the media spewed forth. Rush is from the St Louis area, as was my paternal grandpa (Gasconade County, Missouri near Cape Girardeau) and he has the money so he wanted to invest in a football team. It's like they want any one who is a conservative to fail and be dependent on the government, as Oliver was dependent on Fagin in Oliver Twist.
Rush should sue the group he was with.

The scum is rising to the top and bubbling over. Knowing lefties as I do - the more they lie and destroy and cheat, the more they are terrified. It's really harrrrrd to live in the dark room in their heads all the time. Their glass is not half empty, it's just plain empty.
Destroying something or someone is the only way they get to play on the playground - they have nothing positive or constructive to offer.

Well, there are some really unclassy people bashing Rush. Shelia Jackson Lee is approaching it from the racist standpoint. She approaches everything from the racial standpoint just like Sharpton does. She is a member of the Congressional Black Caucus which is a racist, Marxist bunch. Like all of those people she comes from a district, in Houston, that is overwhelmed by crime and drugs. All she does for them is rouse the rabble and take care of herself.

I'd love to see Sheila Jackson Lee adorning a rope at the end of an oak tree. That would be true art.

What in the world do we have to do to shut down these black clowns? After all, they only make up 14% of the population but since their clown princess was elevated to messiah, they are pushing their own personal agendas. Not for all of America, but just for their own fat black asses.

The apparent standards: Conservative, white males can't own football teams because it's a "black" sport and that would be "racist."

I agree with all of you.

Shelia Jackson Lee opens her big
mouth all the time when she should
sit down and shut up. She is horrible.

Chrissie, I just sent my e-mail to the NFL. Basically called them thug employers, racists and to get screwed. Also said I would no longer watch pro football but would watch more college ball as it is more exciting anyway.
