White House Gibbs and Rush's Invitation To Obama For a Debate

At today's WH Press Briefing, Press Secretary Robert Gibbs admitted that the WH Rush Limbaugh strategy is counterproductive.

Dem. calls Limbaugh a 'sorry excuse for a human being'

The Hill

Democrats, it appears, are becoming increasingly willing to fire away at conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh.

This statement from Congressman Alan Grayson, a Florida Democrat,

“I’m sorry Limbaugh called for harsh sentences for drug addicts while he was a drug addict. I’m also sorry that he’s bent on seeing America fail. And I’m sorry that Limbaugh is one sorry excuse for a human being.”
Todd Jurkowski, a spokesman for Grayson, confirmed the statement. He said that Grayson said it shortly after RNC chair Michael Steele issued and apology to Limbaugh and so "the congressman decided to isssue one as well, and that's what came out of it."

Limbaugh's Invitation To Barack Hussein Obama to a Debate

RUSH:

It is on the record -- thanks to Politico.com -- since last fall, the White House, led by Rahm Emanuel, the chief of staff to Barack Obama, has been targeting me, your host, your harmless, lovable little fuzzball. Their standard operating procedure: they need a demon to distract and divert from what their agenda is. They need a demon about whom they can lie so as to persuade average Americans that they're the good guys, the benevolent good guys, and the mean SOBs are their enemies trying to stop this great young little president from doing miraculous and wonderful things.

There is a new ad that this union bunch is running in Washington, DC, The note is an apology note to me, and you can fill in your name and the reason you're apologizing. It is funny. I had to laugh when I saw it last night.

But make no mistake about it. Emanuel is the leader of all of this. Begala and Carville, don't confuse them with the power brokers that are managing this. It all Emanuel. Begala and Carville are second-rate talking heads on CNN. CNN has no audience. Rahm Emanuel is the power behind the throne -- and don't let his effeminate nature and his ballerina past mislead you on this. He may look effeminate (he was a ballerina at one time) but he has the feral instincts of a female rat defending its young.

My point here is that these are really odious, empty, nasty people who are feasting on their own arrogance. They are power hungry. But, you know what? They've never had a serious debate over ideas. Their goal is to destroy opponents, which is what they're trying to do now. They don't want to engage opponents. Their idea of victory is the destruction of the opponent. They're not for a level playing field. They want to clear the playing field so that their ideas do not have to undergo any scrutiny.
So let's have the debate! I am offering President Obama to come on this program -- without staffers, without a teleprompter, without note cards -- to debate me on the issues. Let's talk about free markets versus government control. Let's talk about nationalizing health care and raising taxes on small business.
Let's talk about the New Deal versus Reaganomics. Let's talk about closing Guantanamo Bay, and let's talk about sending $900 million to Hamas. Let's talk about illegal immigration and the lawlessness on the borders. Let's talk about massive deficits and the destroying of opportunities of future generations. Let's talk about ACORN, community agitators, and the unions that represent the government employees which pour millions of dollars into your campaign, President Obama. Let's talk about your elimination of school choice for minority students in the District of Columbia. Let's talk about your efforts to further reduce domestic drilling and refining of oil. Let's talk about your stock market. By the way, Mr. President, I want to help. Yesterday you said you looked at the stock market as no different than a tracking poll that goes up and down.
There's no "up and down" here. We have a plunge.
The president yesterday suggested "we're getting to the point where profits and earnings ratios are approaching that point where you want to invest." Uh, Mr. President? There is no "profits and earnings" ratio. It's "price and earnings" ratio. He's the president of the United States. He doesn't know anything about the stock market. He's admitted it before.
In fact, Mr. President, you know what, I know these are tough economic times, and you're trying to convince people that you're "saving" the taxpayers money, that you're cutting spending, that you're cutting the deficit. In that vein, I, Mr. President, will send my jet, EIB One, to pick you up and bring you here and take you back to wherever you want to go. You'd love it. It's not as big and luxurious as your jet, but it's got enough seats for your Secret Service detail. But it is something to behold. I'm very proud of it, Mr. President. I worked for it. I paid for it. Taxpayers pay you for your travel. Nobody pays me for mine. I pay for it. I pay for the airplane. I pay for the travel. I pay for practically everything I do. We can talk about that, too. I could tell you what that's like.
And once you land, by the way, I have a fleet of SUVs because I have guests here all the time. I have four or five SUVs. I can send a caravan to pick you up. I'll even put you up at The Breakers. It's a five-star resort. I'll do it all on my dime. We don't want the taxpayers footing any of the bill for this -- and my jet burns a lot less fuel than your two and your C-130 to bring your limousine and SUV caravan here. In fact, you know what, Mr. President? I'll tell you what I will do, if you will do this. I will promise to order some Wagyu Kobe beef at $100 a pound, just like you serve at your cocktail parties and your Super Bowl parties. I'll get it from Allen Brothers in Chicago, since you like that. I know you like $100-per-pound beef. You serve it at the White House.
But I'll cover the cost. I will cover the cost, Mr. President, so that the taxpayers do not have to pay for it, as they did your Super Bowl party, and as they do your Wednesday afternoon cocktail party. So you have no excuses. Your flunkies are demanding this debate. Your flunkies are targeting a private citizen with an enemies list that so far has three or four names on it: Mine; Rick Santelli; Jim Cramer at CNBC; and let's not forget Joe the Plumber, who your allies in Ohio also tried to destroy. The difference is that Joe the Plumber does not have his own microphone every day. They're shutting Santelli up at CNBC. They're going to shut Cramer up pretty soon, too, but he'll go down with a fight. That isn't going to happen here, to me.
I'm calling. I'm ready. I'll do everything I can to facilitate it.

Wild Thing's comment........

Rush is calling Obama out to a one on one debate any time anywhere. Rush has offered to fly him out and feed him! LOL

The president is being made to look like a fool regarding his policies and his views on the stock markets and the economy, etc... and he is.
Hahahahaha Rush has "DOUBLE DOG DARED" him to debate, says it is not a trick, he is dead serious. Obama would be under the podium curled up in the fetal position, crying and sucking his thumb after 1 minute debating Rush.

The problem for the White House is that Rush really is an intelligent person. What I find really funny is that Rush said what he did about Obama and a debate with him and then the White House ( Gibbs) says the strategy they have been using with Limbaugh is counterproductive. Hahahaha no kidding Obama, Gibbs, Rahm and Carville.

Regarding what Grayson said, I have said a lot worse about almost all the democrats, when I say they are not the air they breath and I mean what I say and do not apologize for saying it. But I think it is sickening that this person Grayson is PRO Code Pink ) that has given money to terrorists to help kill our troops) making him a total low life and has the nerve to say anything negative about Rush.

And in regards to his reference to Rush as a drug addict I beg to differ. Rush was in extreme pain for many years, his neck and back and nothing helped. He used pain pills, he had a legitimate reason for wanting the pain pills, and a valid prescription, even if he misused it.

....Thank you Mark for sending this to me.

Gibbs has got to be an Obama clone only the white version. He can't speak either.

I thought Rush's challange was great, So the White House is trying to downplay Rush and minimize him. Hell they are the ones who put him in charge of the Republican party. So obviously obama doesn't have the stones to debate Rush one on one without teleprompter,...surprise surprise. Obama not only doesn't have a clue He has not guts either. He hides behind the Ballerina and takes cheap shots at his opposition.

This may sound strange...but I hope Obama does not take the invite. Rush would wipe the floor with the Prez and dance on his sorry head. This cheapens the Office of the President (OK...stop shouting at me. I support the Presidency...NOT the Prez himself.) As much as I would like to hear Rush drill that silly Commie and continue to expose him for the fool he is, I fear any more degredation of the Office than what has already happened. Maybe I'm off on this one, but Obama can ruin the image of the Presidency all by his widdle self.

All I want to hear from O'Vomits mouth is him begging for leniency prior to the rope snapping his neck.

Can't cheapen the Office of the President any more than Bill Clinton.

But this asswipe from Florida Alan Grayson, great another Alan, referring to Rush's addiction to pain killers. Rush faced it head on, went to rehab, and was open and honest about it. We didn't have to learna about his durg use through a third party or some 4th rate book touted as his autobiography, like Barry Soetoro the Usurper posing as the PResident.

It is no wonder all the losers in the country are democrats, they pick the biggest loser, liar, tax cheat, Shyster lawyer and run him for the House of Representatives. Like the loser Alan Grayson is the lesser losers vote for him just to get the asshole out of their community.

I have always liked Rush Limbaugh. My Dad subscribed to the Limbaugh News Letter for eons. He introduced me to Rush. My Dad is the reason I am what I am, and I am thankful for that.

But, and as naive as this may seem, I don't know as much about Rush as I would like to. What does "EIB" stand for?

Posted by: BT in SA at March 5, 2009 12:45 PM

BT in SA, EIB stands for "Excellence In Broadcasting"....which is Rush's trademark!!!

There is no way that "O" would ever agree to debate Limbaugh....he knows he is way out of his league and that Rush would mop the floor with him. Rush would have to allocate an extra hour for the debate to account for all of "O"'s "uh..mmm...well....errrrrr....uh....let me say this about that" BS. I don't think Rush would have the patience to debate "O".....he would have to answer his own questions because "O" wouldn't know what to say and stutter for 20 minutes.

I would love to hear Rush rip this POS apart but it will never happen. "O" string-holders won't let it happen because they know that Rush would expose "O" and everyone behind him for what they are!!!

What I like about El Rushbo is that if there's someone who disagrees with him He'll invite them to a debate. Rush would kick his ass too "with half of a brain tied behind his back just to make it fair."

Mark, LMAO

"Gibbs has got to be an Obama clone only the white version. He can't speak either."

I agree!

Posted by: Wild Thing at March 5, 2009 07:18 PM

PeteSuj, I think this is oh what is it called a catch 22. giggle.
If Obama does not debate he will look like a coward and that would be great too. So I am for that as well either way.
If he did debate Rush, Obama would end up huffing and puffing and crying and then probably do a website about being picked on like he did during the campaign. heh heh

I agree with you I feel the same way about this.."I support the Presidency...NOT the Prez ". For me Obama is not my President and never will be. But I still have tremendous respect for the office of the President. Just to be in the Oval office like I did on a tour one time, I was in awe of just being able to be there. I was only a kid, about 11 but I will never forget it.

Posted by: Wild Thing at March 5, 2009 07:24 PM

cuchieddie-25th ID Vet, I bet even some of his voters are starting to feel like that too. I would bet on it. Not many but I bet there are some for sure feeling taken by this jerk, commie.

Posted by: Wild Thing at March 5, 2009 07:27 PM

Mark, DITTO about the pain killers I agree. That guy is a jerk to even bring it up.

Posted by: Wild Thing at March 5, 2009 07:29 PM

BT in SA, thank you for sharing about your Dad, that is so wonderful.

Same here withmy Dad, he is why I believe as I do too. He took a lot of time explainging the why's of things in our history, our government etc.

Posted by: Wild Thing at March 5, 2009 07:32 PM

John, LMAO yessss so true.

"Rush would have to allocate an extra hour for the debate to account for all of "O"'s "uh..mmm...well....errrrrr....uh."
