Rush Limbaugh ponders how the left will eliminate meaningful elections if the Democrats win. Elections are just a nuisance that the left feels they are above having to win in free and fair races.

Want to leave the Catholic Church? Officially, you can’t

Want to leave the Catholic Church? Officially, you can’t.

The Washington Post

By Dan Waidelich
October 22, 2018

Mary Combs remembers her last Mass. It was about 15 years ago, when sexual abuse by Catholic clergy in Boston, her hometown, was global news. She sat looking at the collection basket, imagining the money paying off victims. She never went back.

“Now there’s this Pennsylvania scandal,” Combs said. “Hundreds of priests abusing thousands of parishioners and a coverup that went all the way to the Vatican — again.”

Combs, a retired speech therapist in Winchester, Va., now attends Grace Lutheran Church. The Pennsylvania stories broke her heart, but she was comforted knowing she was done with Catholicism.

Then a friend brought up a startling possibility. Technically, she might still be counted by the Catholic Church as a member.

Combs researched her status, which led her to the office of the Rev. Thomas Ferguson, vicar general of the Catholic Diocese of Arlington, Va. After five weeks of trying to talk to the vicar general, she got a one-sentence response from Ferguson through a staffer, saying it was impossible to defect from the Catholic Church. (The Diocese of Arlington declined to discuss this subject with The Washington Post.)

Combs had struck on a frustrating piece of church bureaucracy: According to Catholic theology, there are no former Catholics.

That means I am technically Catholic, too, as I was baptized, per family tradition. But I am an atheist. I stopped considering myself affiliated with the Catholic Church long ago.

Recently, I too tried to formally split from the church. Between the Pennsylvania grand jury investigation and much of Catholic America’s apparent comfort with Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh, I wanted nothing to do with it.

I was as stunned as Combs when I found out there was no way to disaffiliate.

“The claim that underlies all of this, a claim most Christian denominations share, is that baptism, once given, can’t be taken back,” said Patrick Hornbeck, chair of theology at Fordham University, a Catholic school. “When a person is baptized, the person always remains, in some way, shape or form, related to the Catholic Church.”

Formal acts of defection were introduced in the 1983 Code of Canon Law to solve a regulatory issue in some Catholic marriages. Unintentionally, that allowed defection for any reason. Pope Benedict XVI closed the loophole in 2010.

In theory, the act appended one’s baptismal record to show that the person no longer recognized church authority. But diocesan responses were inconsistent. Some honored defections, while others considered requests case by case or not at all, Hornbeck said.

Other separations exist. The church can excommunicate a member, a remedial denial of sacraments or church participation to encourage repentance for some wrong. “Notorious acts of defection” are significant public renunciations of church authority, including openly switching faiths or denominations. But neither appends the all-important baptismal record.

When voluntary defection was an option, grass-roots movements sprang up to encourage it. One website, CountMeOut.ie, launched in 2009 in response to the government of Ireland’s Ryan Report on church abuse. Visitors could simply download a Declaration of Defection form, fill in their details and send it to the relevant bishop.

“The original goal was to use the church’s own mechanism as a means of protest against it,” said Cormac Flynn, who co-founded the site with friends Grainne O’Sullivan and Paul Dunbar.

More than 12,000 forms were downloaded before Benedict nullified defections a year later and the site shuttered. Nearly 10 years later, the founders remember it as important activism for an Ireland still reevaluating its relationship with the church, Flynn said.

“Our contribution was a small one, but I do look back on that time with some pride that we added something to the national debate,” he said.

CountMeOut did not track how many downloads actually became defections. In fact, there is no churchwide record of defections, according to Mark Gray, who tracks church statistics at the Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate at Georgetown.

When Hornbeck surveyed U.S. dioceses, he found that the numbers of defection requests varied, ranging from zero to 650. Dioceses averaged about 25 defection requests over the 27-year span that they were allowed.

Far more people consider themselves “former Catholics” without formally defecting. In 2008, the Pew Research Center found that about one-third of those raised Catholic were no longer practicing, meaning about 10 percent of Americans are former Catholics. Instead of defecting, the vast majority simply stop attending Mass.

That was good enough for Combs for years, but now that she knows she’s still considered Catholic, she’s angry. She wonders whether she can join some class-action defection lawsuit. Dismissing someone who is unhappy to be tied to your organization’s criminal history just seems stunningly arrogant, she said. “How many others are dealing with this?” she asked. “If people heard they were ‘still Catholic,’ how many of them would be outraged?”

Combs and I are two. The true number could potentially be in the millions.

But if church theology does not recognize them, the law might not help. In the United States, religious organizations have the right to define their membership. Individuals also have the right to exit a religion for any reason. And in between those principles is a huge gray area, said Jessie Hill, a law professor at Case Western Reserve University.

So Catholics can pursue another faith or none, but the church can still consider them Catholic, provided it does not infringe on their rights.

“The courts won’t intervene when something has to do with the church rules,” Hill said. “They will avoid anything that requires them to make a judgment about an essentially religious issue.”

Avowed defectors of any faith might have legal standing if their former religious institution made damaging statements on their behalf, although courts might be wary of setting precedent, Hill said.

Still, Combs said formal defection would bring her peace of mind.

“It’s about my own integrity,” she said. “I truly believe they institutionalized child abuse. I just don’t want my name, my soul, my self to be in any way affiliated with them.”

After recent revelations, U.S. Catholics give Francis low marks on handling of sex abuse scandal

After recent revelations, U.S. Catholics give Francis low marks on handling of sex abuse scandal

The long-simmering Catholic Church sex abuse scandal has been back in the headlines in recent months, beginning with widespread allegations in June against Theodore McCarrick, the former archbishop of Washington, D.C., who resigned from the College of Cardinals. Soon after came revelations from a Pennsylvania grand jury report that more than 300 priests are accused of sexually abusing minors over the past 70 years. Most recently, Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò stunned the world when he released a letter charging that Pope Francis and other senior church officials knew about at least some of the abuses and did nothing.

The accusations have coincided with a drop in the share of U.S. Catholics who approve of the way the pope is handling the abuse crisis. Just three-in-ten American Catholics (31%) now say the pontiff is doing a “good” (18%) or “excellent” (13%) job of addressing the sex abuse scandal, according to a new survey from Pew Research Center. This is much lower than the 54% who gave Francis good or excellent marks in February 2014 (almost a year after he became pope), and the 45% who did so at the beginning of 2018. Meanwhile, 62% of American Catholics now say the pontiff is doing only a “fair” or “poor” job of handling the scandal.

The decline in the pope’s standing on the sex abuse issue cuts across age and gender lines. In addition, Catholics who attend Mass regularly are not significantly more likely to rate the pope positively on this issue (34%) than those who do not (30%).

The new survey also found a decline in American Catholics’ overall approval of Pope Francis. Between January and September of this year, the share of Catholics who express a favorable view of the Pope has dropped from 84% to 72%.

Abuse allegations have been leveled at the Catholic Church for decades

Abuse allegations have been leveled at the Catholic Church for decades

CNN

A Pennsylvania grand jury released a report in August 2018 detailing decades of alleged sexual abuses by priests and cover-ups by bishops.

The report said internal documents from six Catholic dioceses in Pennsylvania -- some held in a secret archive to which only the bishop had a key -- showed that more than 300 "predator priests" have been credibly accused of sexually abusing more than 1,000 child victims.

Pope Francis issued an unusually blunt letter six days after the report's release, acknowledging "with shame and repentance" the Catholic Church's failure to act, writing "we showed no care for the little ones; we abandoned them."
The letter directly referred to the Pennsylvania report, which "detailed the experiences of at least 1,000 survivors, victims of sexual abuse, the abuse of power and of conscience at the hands of priests over a period of approximately 70 years."

Looking ahead, the pontiff said the church was working on a "zero tolerance" policy on abuse and coverups. He added, "If, in the past, the response was one of omission, today we want solidarity, in the deepest and most challenging sense, to become our way of forging present and future history."

USA, 2018

In July 2018, Pope Francis accepted the resignation of Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, 88, who once led the Archdiocese of Washington and was a force in American politics, after a decades-old allegation of sexual abuse of a teenage altar boy forced the Vatican to remove him from public ministry.

A month earlier, McCarrick issued a statement saying he was shocked by the allegations: "While I have absolutely no recollection of this reported abuse, and believe in my innocence, I am sorry for the pain the person who brought the charges has gone through, as well as for the scandal such charges cause our people."

McCarrick was also accused three times of sexual misconduct with adults "decades ago" while he served as a bishop in Metuchen and Newark, New Jersey, the current bishops of those cities said in June. Two of those allegations resulted in settlements, the bishops said.

The Vatican said Pope Francis had ordered McCarrick to "a life of prayer and penance until the accusations made against him are examined in a regular canonical trial."

Chile, 2018

Pope Francis called the country's bishops to Rome in May after he received a 2,300-page report detailing sexual abuses by priests in Chile.

The report alleged that for decades, church officials in Chile had known about cases of sexual abuse and led a massive cover up, even destroying records.

Seven years earlier, the Vatican had found Chilean priest Father Fernando Karadima guilty of child sex abuse.
In January, while visiting Chile, Francis defended a Chilean bishop accused of concealing the abuse, saying he had been "slandered."

But after Vatican investigators said church officials in Chile had helped cover up multiple cases of sexual abuse by the clergy, the Pope apologized.

After the 3-day emergency summit at the Vatican in May to discuss the sex abuse scandal, all 34 of Chile's active and retired bishops offered the Pope their resignations.

In June, the Vatican said Pope Francis was sending investigators back to Chile.

In August, police arrested one former priest over the alleged abuse of seven minors. Prosecutors say there are 158 people including bishops, priests and lay people under investigation.

Australia, 2018

Australian Archbishop Philip Wilson of Adelaide was found guilty in May of concealing the abuse of altar boys in the 1970s by pedophile priest James Fletcher.

Wilson was the highest-ranking Catholic official ever to be convicted of covering up sex abuse.

In July he said that he intended to appeal the ruling under the "due process of law" and would resign if his appeal was unsuccessful.

The next week the Vatican announced that Pope Francis had accepted Wilson's resignation.

Australia, 2017

Cardinal George Pell, one of the most senior members of the Catholic Church, was charged with multiple historical sexual assault offenses in his home country of Australia, police said in June.

Pell serves as a top adviser to Pope Francis and heads the Vatican's secretariat for the economy. In 2013, he was named one of eight cardinals tasked with investigating ways to reform the church. He is the most senior member of the Catholic Church in Australia but has been placed on leave from the Vatican while the allegations are investigated.

Pell said he's innocent and maintains that the charges -- relating to claims of sexual abuse spanning three decades -- are false.

In May 2018, a magistrate ordered him to stand trial and he entered a formal plea of not guilty.

In a statement, the Vatican said: "The Holy See has taken note of the decision issued by judicial authorities in Australia regarding His Eminence Cardinal George Pell. Last year, the Holy Father granted Cardinal Pell a leave of absence so he could defend himself from the accusations. The leave of absence is still in place."

A 2017 commission found that 7% of Australian priests were accused of abusing children between 1950 and 2015.
Dominican Republic, 2014

Jozef Wesolowski died in 2015 before he went to trial.

Jozef Wesolowski died in 2015 before he went to trial.

Jozef Wesolowski, a former Vatican ambassador to the Dominican Republic was found guilty of sexual abuse of minors by a Vatican tribunal and defrocked in 2014. He was accused of sexual abuse of minors and possession of child pornography during his time as papal nuncio to the Dominican Republic. Italy's Corriere della Sera reported that Wesolowski's laptop contained more than 100,000 files with pornographic images and videos.

Wesolowski was the highest-ranking Catholic official arrested for alleged sexual abuse of minors. He died in 2015, before he could be put on trial.

The Netherlands, 2011

Thousands of children suffered from sexual abuse in the Dutch Roman Catholic Church over more than six decades, and about 800 "possible perpetrators" have been identified, according to an independent Commission of Inquiry, issued in 2011.

The commission said it received 1,795 reports of church-related sex abuse of minors and the "reports contained information about possible perpetrators."

Multiple countries, 2010

Pope Benedict and the sex abuse scandal

Pope Benedict and the sex abuse scandal 02:30

Allegations of sexual abuse spread across a half dozen countries -- including Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland and Brazil, home of the world's largest Catholic population.

Revelations about church abuse included the Munich, Germany, archdiocese where Pope Benedict XVI once served as archbishop.

Under the Pope's tenure as archbishop in the early 1980s, the Munich archdiocese ignored warnings to keep a molesting priest away from children, said the doctor, Werner Huth, who issued those warnings.

Huth demanded the priest, Rev. Peter Hullermann, never be allowed to interact with children again. Instead, the church allowed the priest to return to work and to deal with children. Hullermann was convicted of abusing minors in 1986. Pope Benedict had left the Munich archdiocese for a new post in 1982.

Ireland, 2009

A bombshell report commissioned by the Irish government concluded that the Archdiocese of Dublin and other Catholic Church authorities in Ireland covered up clerical child abuse.

The Dublin Archdiocese Commission of Investigation's 720-page report said that it has "no doubt that clerical child sexual abuse was covered up" from January 1975 to May 2004, the time covered by the report. The commission had been set up in 2006 to look into allegations of child sexual abuse made against clergy in the Irish capital.

The report named 11 priests who had pleaded guilty to or were convicted of sexual assaults on children. Of the other 35, it gave pseudonyms to 33 of them and redacted the names of two.

USA, 2004

Children accused more than 4,000 priests of sexual abuse between 1950 and 2002, according to a report compiled by the John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

The report, based on church records, found that 6,700 of the 11,000 allegations were investigated and substantiated, and another 1,000 were unsubstantiated. The remaining 3,300 were not investigated because the priests involved had died by the time the allegation was made.

USA, 2002

Former priest John Geoghan became a central figure in the clergy sexual abuse crisis in Boston, along with Cardinal Bernard Law, who admitted receiving a letter in 1984 outlining allegations of child molestation against Geoghan. Law assigned Geoghan to another parish despite the allegations.

From 1962 to 1995, Geoghan sexually abused approximately 130 people, mostly grammar school boys, according to victims. Over the years, church officials ordered him to get treatment or transferred him to other parishes, but kept him on as a priest. The Boston Globe coverage on sexual abuse by clergy brought the issue to the forefront. The story was later adapted into the award-winning movie "Spotlight."

Geoghan was found guilty of molesting a boy in a swimming pool and sentenced to prison in 2002. A year later, he died after an attack by another inmate at the state prison.

Law resigned as archbishop of Boston in 2002.

In 2004, Archbishop Sean O'Malley issued a statement saying that 815 people had made claims of sex abuse of a minor by a priest and 150 people had made claims against a deacon, non-incardinated, or religious order priest between 1950 and 2003.

In 2011, O'Malley published the names of 159 clerics accused of sexual assault over that time period. The names of an additional 91 clerics who had been accused were not included for reasons including their deaths before the completion of inquiries when they had not been publicly accused.

Austria, 1998

Cardinal Hans Hermann Groër of Vienna was forced to give up all his duties amid allegations he molested young boys. A statement by Groer asked for forgiveness but made no admission of guilt, reported the BBC.

USA, 1985

Father Thomas Doyle warned of sexual abuse by clergy in a report given at the US conference of bishops. It was ignored.

Gilbert Gauthe in Louisiana became the first to gain national attention in a case of a priest accused of sexual abuse. In 1985, he admitted to abusing 37 boys and pleaded guilty to 34 criminal counts, reported the New York Times. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison, but released after 10 years.

The Forgotten Man by Jon McNaughton ( a MUST see Video)

Against the background of a darkening sky, all of the past Presidents of the United States gather before the White House, as if to commemorate some great event. In the left hand corner of the painting sits a man. That man, with his head bowed appears distraught and hopeless as he contemplates his future. Some of the past Presidents try to console him while looking in the direction of the modern Presidents as if to say, "What have you done?" Many of these modern Presidents, seemingly oblivious to anything other than themselves, appear to be congratulating each other on their great accomplishments.

In front of the man, paper trash is blowing in the wind. Crumpled dollar bills, legislative documents, and, like a whisper—the U.S. Constitution beneath the foot of Barack Obama.

The Constitution is a document which spells out a government of limited, enumerated powers. America’s Founding Fathers knew, first hand, just how dangerous excessive power could become and they labored to ensure that no one person would get too much, unchecked power.

The website about this painting can be found here at the artist..........Jon McNaughton

To Meghan McCain To Much For You? Then Don't be a Republican

Talking about her family and their sacrifice Megan McCain says ......
"No one knows what war is like other than my family....PERIOD!"

My Beef With Ann Coulter

The Daily Beast

by Meghan McCain

I’m often criticized for not being a “real” Republican, and I have been called a RINO—Republican In Name Only—in the past. Many say I am not “conservative enough,” which is something that I am proud of. It is no secret that I disagree with many of the old-school Republican ways of thinking. One of the biggest issues from which I seem to drift from the party base is in my support of gay marriage. I am often criticized for previously voting for John Kerry and my support of stem-cell research. For the record, I am also extremely pro-military and a big supporter of the surge and the Iraq war.

More so than my ideological differences with Ann Coulter, I don’t like her demeanor. I have never been a person who was attracted to hate or negativity. I don’t believe in scare tactics and would never condone or encourage anyone calling President Obama a Muslim. But controversy sells and Coulter is nothing if not controversial. Everything about her is extreme: her voice, her interview tactics, and especially the public statements she makes about liberals. Maybe her popularity stems from the fact that watching her is sometimes like watching a train wreck.

I am sure most extreme conservatives and extreme liberals would find me a confusing, walking contradiction. But I assure you, there are many people out there just like me who represent a new, younger generation of Republicans. It took me almost two years of campaigning across this country and hanging out, on a daily basis, with some of the most famous and most intelligent Republicans to fall in love with the Republican Party. If it took that much time and exposure for me to join the party, how can GOP leaders possibly expect to reach young supporters by staying the course they have been on these past eight years? Where has our extreme thinking gotten us? President Bush will go down as one the least popular presidents in history. I constantly hear stories about Republicans who previously worked for President Bush and my father feeling ostracized, unable to get jobs in D.C. right now.

On Monday night Ann Coulter and Bill Maher kicked off a weeklong debate tour. Maybe they will prove me wrong, but this seems more like a traveling circus than a serious debate about the ideological differences between these individuals. I hope viewers understand Ann Coulter is not the woman we Republicans need representing us right now. The GOP is at a crossroads. I love the Republican Party, but if it turns out I am somehow not conservative enough to please its leaders, it makes me wonder—am I then not worthy of even being a member?

.

Wild Thing's comment...........

Meghan your message is very clear. You are angry that all conservatives are not as "progressive" as you and your dad. In your mind nobody can be progressive unless they are a borderline liberal like you and your father....yep Rino's. Earth to Meghan! Your dad lost because conservatives couldn't stand his being a rino, we are fed up. The ONLY reason he got a single vote from we conservatives was because of Sarah Palin. Hello-o-o-o!

The reason that you don't like Ann Coulter is so obvious!! It is because generally she is right on the mark about your Father and the Republican Party. Both have strayed from their Conservative values. Your Father's refusal to stand up for core republican issues during the election cost the party dearly. Palin took a stand and your Dad made excuses for Obama and even to the point of saying Obama was an " honorable man". He cost our party more then you seem to realize or want to face, not only in losing this election but far into the future. Like on immigration. What a wimp he was on that issue. He is a great Military Hero but his leadership role is now behind him.

Thank goodness for Ann - and for those Americans who care more about the issues and their freedom. To you being "hip" is a big deal. Obama will "hip" us right down the road to national ruin. It won't be so cool when we're standing in the bread lines and wondering where our freedom went.

Millions of Americans over the past couple of hundred years gave their lives to avoid the type of "hip" government Obama is attempting to pull off. From my side of the keyboard, it doesn't seem so cool to blow them off and support socialism.

Meghan, you're completely misguided in your ramblings.

First off if a hipness factor is what is needed to attract young voters than what does that say about how shallow those young people are. Hipness is what attracted young voters to the empty suited socialist we now have destroying our country. And just to let you know there are a tremendous amount of young people that are conservative that would be appalled at what you have written and disagree with you completely.

Also if moving to the middle is the answer than why did your Dad lose? He had no crowds like he did once Palin was on board and you know it. He definitely isn't a conservative and was all about bipartisanship. Unfortunately for him he couldn't he's as exciting as a stump. Our problem is that our so called representatives have moved away from our core conservative beliefs that we have won with before and that will, in the end, succeed again.

People like you, Meghan, who call yourselves "progressive republicans" make no sense what so ever. Maybe you should read Jonah Goldberg's Liberal Fascism and find out what you have aligned yourself with when you call yourself a Progressive. People like you guide your life with things like feelings and momentary celebrity, but timeless principles like Individual Liberty and Freedom are what WE stand for. If you feel the need to be "cool" and jump on board with the popular thing at the moment (Progressivism = Oligarchical Totalitarianism) then maybe you should just become a Democrat and support the "green" lie and the Authoritarianism that they stand for.

Meghan, you and I would probaby have a lot of laughs, have fun shopping together, girl talk sitting at a coffee cafe, but the thing is underneath it all would be that you and I are so opposite in our thinking, in our attitudes even, and even when I was your age I never had your mind set. I could have cared less about being hip or cool or with the "in crowd". I knew who I was and already had strong conservative beliefs. I know people can change, I have seen it, people that were very far to the left and did a complete turn around once they saw how it is all a lie and against all our Founrding Fathers wanted for our country. Maybe this will happen to you, but if I go by your Dad's record I have my doubts. Prove me wrong Meghan. And until then, grow up or switch parties, you might as well since you have already bragged how you voted for Hanoi John Kerry, run do not walk to the Democrat party with my blessings, because you haven't a clue. And your voice is heard by those that read your article thus you have some amount of influence on others, that kind of influence is pure rino and honestly we have had it with rino's turning our party into Democrat lite. I sure as heck have!

OH and just one more thing Meghan. Your statement from the video...... well it was pretty stupid. I realize a person can be nervous in an interview and that saying something stupid can happen. Or you can even be misquoted which happens more then many realize. But Meghan, you were not nervous, you have done enough interviews to be used to them, and you were not misquoted these words came right from you live. " "No one knows what war is like other than my family....PERIOD!" ..... You insulted all the other military families.

Every person at this blog either served our country, or has Veterans in their family or active duty today. You are totally off to say such a thing.

For Freedom's Way
by Tom Hoefling

For freedom’s way the patriots bled,
The crosses mark our honored dead.
More clearly than mere words e’er may
That field lays out their final say:
No greater love, they gave it all,
In answer to man’s highest call.
But don’t forget that most returned.
To them we owe esteem they earned.
And last of all, remember this:
Our LORD betrayed by one mere kiss.
For from within true danger lies,
Though carefully as friend disguised.
So fight my friend, from where you stand,
For freedom rides on every man.

Claremont,CA. Parents Clash Over Kindergarten Thanksgiving Costumes

This photo is from LAST year’s Thanksgiving celebration, a four-decade-old Claremont school district tradition.

Claremont parents clash over kindergarten Thanksgiving costumes

Some say having students dress up as pilgrims and Native Americans is 'demeaning.' Their opponents say they are elitists injecting politics into a simple children's celebration.

Los Angeles Times

For decades, Claremont kindergartners have celebrated Thanksgiving by dressing up as pilgrims and Native Americans and sharing a feast. But on Tuesday, when the youngsters meet for their turkey and songs, they won't be wearing their hand-made bonnets, headdresses and fringed vests.

Parents in this quiet university town are sharply divided over what these construction-paper symbols represent: A simple child's depiction of the traditional (if not wholly accurate) tale of two factions setting aside their differences to give thanks over a shared meal? Or a cartoonish stereotype that would never be allowed of other racial, ethnic or religious groups?

"It's demeaning," Michelle Raheja, the mother of a kindergartner at Condit Elementary School, wrote to her daughter's teacher. "I'm sure you can appreciate the inappropriateness of asking children to dress up like slaves (and kind slave masters), or Jews (and friendly Nazis), or members of any other racial minority group who has struggled in our nation's history."

Raheja, whose mother is a Seneca, wrote the letter upon hearing of a four-decade district tradition, where kindergartners at Condit and Mountain View elementary schools take annual turns dressing up and visiting the other school for a Thanksgiving feast. This year, the Mountain View children would have dressed as Native Americans and walked to Condit, whose students would have dressed as Pilgrims.

Raheja, an English professor at UC Riverside who specializes in Native American literature, said she met with teachers and administrators in hopes that the district could hold a public forum to discuss alternatives that celebrate thankfulness without "dehumanizing" her daughter's ancestry.

"There is nothing to be served by dressing up as a racist stereotype," she said.

Last week, rumors began to circulate on both campuses that the district was planning to cancel the event, and infuriated parents argued over the matter at a heated school board meeting Thursday. District Supt. David Cash announced at the end of the meeting that the two schools had tentatively decided to hold the event without the costumes, and sent a memo to parents Friday confirming the decision.

Cash and the principals of Condit and Mountain View did not respond to interview requests.

But many parents, who are convinced the decision was made before the board meeting, accused administrators of bowing to political correctness.

Kathleen Lucas, a Condit parent who is of Choctaw heritage, said her son -- now a first-grader -- still wears the vest and feathered headband he made last year to celebrate the holiday.

"My son was so proud," she said. "In his eyes, he thinks that's what it looks like to be Indian."

Among the costume supporters, there is a vein of suspicion that casts Raheja and others opposed to the costumes as agenda-driven elitists. Of the handful of others who spoke with Raheja against the costumes at the board meeting, one teaches at the University of Redlands, one is an instructor at Riverside Community College, and one is a former Pitzer College professor.

Raheja is "using those children as a political platform for herself and her ideas," Constance Garabedian said as her 5-year-old Mountain View kindergartner happily practiced a song about Native Americans in the background. "I'm not a professor and I'm not a historian, but I can put the dots together."

The debate is far from over. Some parents plan to send their children to school in costume Tuesday -- doubting that administrators will force them to take them off. The following day, some plan to keep their children home, costing the district attendance funds to punish them for modifying the event.

"She's not going to tell us what we can and cannot wear," said Dena Murphy, whose 5-year-old son attends Mountain View. "We're tired of [district officials] cowing down to people. It's not right."

But others hoped that tempers would calm over the long holiday weekend, and the community could come together to have a fruitful discussion about Thanksgiving and its meaning.

"Its always a good thing to think about, critically, how we teach kids, even from very young ages, the message we want them to learn, and the respect for the diversity of the American experiences," said Jennifer Tilton, an assistant professor of race and ethnic studies at the University of Redlands and a Claremont parent who opposes the costumes.

Wild Thing's comment.......

We are a Nation that is imploding and with all this PC bull, it is destroying our history, our heroes and who they have been and our future!!!

Now LOOK at this, the GOOD Parents are fighting back and remember too this is in Californina. Yes there are a lot of conservatives there just outnumered is the problem. But this is a GREAT example of how fighting back makes a difference and how we should never have apathy.

NOV. 24TH UPDATE TO THIS STORY...

source is The Claremont Insider

Dena Murphy, a Mountain View parent, just gave an update on "The John and Ken Show" (KFI radio, 64.0). The parents at both Mountain View and Condit were hopping mad at the school board wimps. (The School District said the feast could go on, but not with the costumes).
Happily, the 98% of parents - at both schools - who support the kids in costume are staging a protest tomorrow. Yep, they're sending their kids to school in their costumes no matter how much the school board objects. Wait, it gets better...and then they're KEEPING THEM HOME FROM SCHOOL on Wednesday, so those schools won't get a dime of "attendance money" from the state for that day.

Gloom and Doom

A dear friend of mine Beth ...MVRWC....wrote this email. In the wonderful group I am honored to be a part of called the Cotillion we do a lot of sharing and conversation by email, and I want to share this email that Beth wrote with you.

I seriously need to snap the fuck out of this funk. I don’t wanna blog, I hate the blogosphere because of stupid moonbats and Hezbollah supporters (I know, same thing) and because of idiotic vlogging. I’d much rather be reading the good blogs and not bothering with my own right now. I’m incredibly frustrated with what seems like a pointless exercise, because there’s never any effect. You still have lying moonbats, America-haters, Israel/Jew haters, BDS loons, and all that shit. I’m bored and frustrated with all of it, and I’m starting to stress out about there being no real end in sight re: Israel OR the overall war on Islamofascism. I know it’s not supposed to be quick, but everyone else’s impatience, ignorance, and ideology is making me lose the last bit of optimism I have, and that’s tough to do. I usually think “this is America, we’ll survive and prevail anyway,” but dammit, I’m not so sure that’s even true. Not with Iranians going nuclear, at least. I can’t bear to think about Iran nuking Israel, but I almost see it as inevitable. That and them possibly nuking Iraq, or at least getting directly and openly involved there. And the news just keeps piling on, like with this shit in Somalia.

I really think liberalism has doomed us all. We aren’t supposed to be for our own interests, we aren’t supposed to make value/moral judgments, we aren’t supposed to have a strong military or fight for/defend our interests abroad. We’re supposed to let the “brown people” (fucking stupid moonbat phrase) do whatever they want because we’re “better” and benevolent, and when they fuck up because they’re evil or brutal or incompetent, we’re supposed to bail them out (see “palestinians,” Africa, etc.) and lead by example, whatever the hell that means on the world stage. Because they’re all human and therefore can’t be “evil,” just “different.”

Meanwhile, evil will continue to roll and we’ll send aid to the starving and/or dead.

If things had been like they are today during WWII, we’d have been doomed then. Instead, I’m afraid that we are now. It may not happen in MY lifetime, but I really do worry about what the world’s going to be like for my daughter. No place seems safe anymore. I think, we could live in Australia, but they’re no safer than we are–if anything, less so. I never thought I’d EVER think this, but maybe 50 years from now–wait for it–Russia? (!) You never know what the world’s going to be like in 50 years. Maybe at least they’ll have a strong country, even if it’s a dictatorship, even if it’s Communist again (!), it’s better than Islamist. I’m just sick about the future for my daughter.

I want to believe that America is stronger than Islamism, but if 9/11 didn’t wake these stupid fucking people up, I don’t know what will. How anyone can seriously look at the world today and NOT see the worldwide evil that is Islam, I don’t know. And the “liberals” (not) will hand the world to them on a silver platter. They think the Patriot Act and NSA surveillance is a police state? Shit, it’s going to take a lot more than THAT to eradicate the problem if they don’t wake the fuck up, and I’d welcome it. I never read In Defense of Internment, but damn, we can’t even “intern” un-uniformed combatants at Gitmo. I’d like to see a hell of a lot more Muslims interned than just those, but the blind moonbats think “fascism” is a reality, and anyone who wants to defeat Islamism is a “fascist.” (Nevermind the fact that we survived the same “fascism” of the WWII years in America.)
Gloom and doom

A Great Reply To Coward Anti-American Toles

WaPo Weasels

Wanna draw a soldier, Toles? Here I am,
Back with all four limbs from Vietnam.
You wanna draw pictures of fighting men?
Just tell me where and tell me when.
I’ll give you a pose to impress any viewer,
Your punk arty ass comatose in the sewer.
Like all of your kind you don’t have a clue
Who fightin’ men are and what fightin’ men do.

That you, your kind, you effete panty waists,
With Hollywood morals, metrosexual tastes,
Would taunt a brave warrior’s fight for life,
Mock his loss, his pain, deride his strife;
And use his sorrow to support your screed,
With no concern for the warrior’s need,
Tells me you are clueless of the facts of war,
You’re a cut ‘n run, spineless, media whore.

Go to Walter Reed hospital, smug Mr. Toles,
To see those you’ve mocked, grave injured souls
View wounded warriors with bodies so broken
And think again of the message you’ve spoken,
So abysmally ignorant, so smug condescending
That even most liberals won’t waste time defending.
So Toles it’s a fact that your most famous work
Will proclaim you forever as a pitiless jerk.

And Washington Post you’re as bad as this weasel
You gave him the forum, provided his easel.

Angry Old Salt Ticked Off Again

I was just watching Hardball and fired Fema man Michael Brown told Chris Matthews that he called the President BEFORE Katrina hit and told President Bush to call Mayor Nagin and the Gov. Blanco. To tell them to evacuate the people immediately. President Bush did according to Michael Brown and they did not listen or do anything.

The Mayor and Gov. killed one thousand people and everyone blames the President!

Your damn right I'm pissed!

Taking Off The Gloves

Sit back, put your feet up, pour a cup of coffee or open a cold one ...........Wild Thing is in the ring......

I have posted before how I felt about this, I have posted in forums, starting in 1997 when I got my first computer during the Clinton's reign of terror. I have posted about it at my website and also a few times before on my Blog. And once again I am going to say this, scream this from the rooftops and hammer it in to anyone that will listen.
Republicans STOP Kissing up to the Democrats! Stop beginning every remark on political talk shows, in interviews etc. how so and so ( a Democrat, a Terrorcrat) is your friend. STOP pointing out his or her better qualities right before you disagree with them. STOP and STOP it NOW!

By doing this you weaken your argument, you cater to them in the worst way and it never is reciprocated!

On Wednesday ( Nov.30th,2005) Ann Coulter wrote about exactly what I have been talking about for years! Her column is in regards to Democratic Rep. John Murtha , when he called for the withdrawal of American troops in the middle of the war.

"Republicans immediately leapt to action by calling Murtha a war hero, a patriot and a great American."- Ann Coulter

She also mentions this

...."I've never heard a single liberal preface attacks on Oliver North with a recitation of North's magnificent service as a Marine. And unlike Murtha, who refuses to release his medical records showing he was entitled to his two Purple Hearts, we know what North did. (These Democrat military veterans are hardly shrinking violets when it comes to citing their medals, but they get awfully squeamish when pressed for details.) "

Please read her article below at the end of my rant because she is right on target!!!

I know all the excuse as to why the Republicans do this. Yep, so many times in fact that my ears get hot just thinking about it, hot with anger! OH yes, it is because they want to try to work together, they do not want to make enemies of the left in case they want their vote on something in the future. Sheesh! How lame is that??!! Pretty darn lame if you ask me. You know the I'll scratch your back if you scrath mine thang' ! Well guess what!!! The Democrats NEVER return the back scratching! Look how they have treated President Bush since he became President. They are still angry about the chad count from the first election. They call him Mr. and NEVER President!

The Republicans and I am including our President and VP on this one, they all begin their statements ahout Murtha with what a hero he was. Ladies and gentlemen freaken evil himself, HITLER, enlisted in the German army and saw four years of front-line service during which he was wounded several times and decorated for bravery twice. Now if you think this Wild Thing would sit still for someone referring to Hitler as a War Hero, as a good man because he did a swell job in the Military you have got to be kidding.

"The Americans are not there. They're not in Baghdad. There are no troops there. Never. They're not at all."-April7,2003

I am glad when a Terrocrat ( Democrat) does not like me. It is a compliment! It means I am on the right track and getting to them. I might sit here at my computer and cry because they might have my feelings hurt, but by golly I sure as heck don't pull back and rethink my next words to them. It makes me stronger then I was before. NOW that is what I want in my politicians. NOT appeasment, NOT surrender, and sure as hell NOT patting the enemy on the back and saying............." My friend so and so".............or " He is a good man, or she is a good women and has served this counrty but we just differ on some things." Can you imagine if our VP Cheney or President Bush would have lambasted Murtha and anyone else that spoke out about bringing our troops home now. Gave them hell for it and took a stand for our troops in no uncertain terms! I mean the President is their Commander in Chief, their leader just as he is our President! Words mean something and in politics they speak volumes as to how strong a person is and what they will tolerate!

"Tolerance is a virtue of a man without convictions." -G.K.Chesterton

Think about this, our men and women serving now have their lives on the line every day, every hour they are in danger with all those IED"s and insurgents our there. And when I hear a Republican politican and he or she can't be strong and take a stand for what is right it makes me sick to see such weakness. The Terrocrats have treated President Bush and VP Cheney as though they are in THEIR White House. They have treated them in word and deed as though Bush and Cheney and the houses being in the Republican majority are squatters.

Think about this too, how many of us worked hard toward getting Bush elected both times. How many?? LOTS! And I bet you had people attacking you too when you held a sign up for Bush or our troops, or posted on forums where liberals swormed like bees waiting to attack you. But we all kept on, kept the good fight and we did it as our part to take America back from the left. WE stood strong in the face of the enemy. OK, so once we got our people elected in the Senate, Congress and White House we should be able to sit back and watch THEM fight for us and for America and for our Military. Right? Right!

Below is Ann's Coulter's column....

We like you! We really, really like you!

When Democratic Rep. John Murtha called for the withdrawal of American troops in the middle of the war, Republicans immediately leapt to action by calling Murtha a war hero, a patriot and a great American.

I haven't heard Republicans issue this many encomiums to one man since Ronald Reagan died. By now, Murtha has been transformed into the greatest warrior since Alexander the Great and is probably dating Jennifer Aniston.

In response to Murtha's demand for the "immediate withdrawal of American troops" – as the New York Times put it – President Bush called Murtha a "fine man, a good man" who served with "honor and distinction," who "is a strong supporter of the United States military." He said he knew Murtha's "decision to call for an immediate withdrawal of our troops ... was done in a careful and thoughtful way."

Vice President Dick Cheney called Murtha "a good man, a Marine, a patriot."

Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said Murtha is "a fine man, I know him personally ... and it's perfectly proper to have a debate over these things, and have a public debate."

National Security Adviser Steve Hadley called in his praise for Murtha from South Korea, saying Murtha was "a veteran, a veteran congressman and a great leader in the Congress."

During the House debate on Murtha's insane proposal to withdraw troops in the middle of the war, Rep. Henry Hyde, R-Ill., said Murtha deserved an "A-plus as a truly great American," and Rep. Curt Weldon, R-Pa., said "none of us should think of questioning his motives or desires for American troops."

On the House floor, both Republicans and Democrats repeatedly gave Murtha rousing standing ovations. There was so much praise for Murtha that one of his Democratic colleagues asked him if he still had to attend Murtha's funeral.

What is this? Special Olympics for the Democrats? Can't Republicans disagree with a Democrat who demands that the U.S. surrender in the middle of a war without erecting monuments to him first? What would happen if a Democrat were to propose restoring Saddam Hussein to power? Is that Medal of Freedom territory?

I don't know what Republicans imagine they're getting out of all this love they keep throwing at Democrats. I've never heard a single liberal preface attacks on Oliver North with a recitation of North's magnificent service as a Marine. And unlike Murtha, who refuses to release his medical records showing he was entitled to his two Purple Hearts, we know what North did. (These Democrat military veterans are hardly shrinking violets when it comes to citing their medals, but they get awfully squeamish when pressed for details.)

We also know what Rep. Randy Cunningham, R-Calif., did to earn his medals. One of only two American Navy aces that the Vietnam War produced, Cunningham shot down five MiGs, three in one day, including a North Vietnamese pilot with 13 American kills. Cunningham never did something as insane as proposing that we withdraw troops in the middle of a war, but this week he did admit to taking bribes.

And yet, no Democrat breathed a word of Cunningham's unquestioned heroism before rushing to denounce him as "the latest example of the culture of corruption" – in the words of Rep. Nancy Pelosi.

Sen. Teddy Kennedy didn't issue a 20-minute soliloquy on what a wonderful man Judge Robert Bork was as a human being before attacking his judicial philosophy. Kennedy just laid into Bork like he was George Lincoln Rockwell.

Speaking of which, George Lincoln Rockwell, former head of the American Nazi Party, served in the military during World War II. Are we obligated to praise his war service before disputing his views?

CNN's Bill Schneider summarized the Republican love-fest for Murtha by saying that House Republicans "started calling him some very ugly names – cowardly, shameful, he wanted to cut and run, he wanted to surrender to the terrorists, emboldening the enemy." Are we all looking at the same "intelligence"?

The only Republican congressman who did not offer to have sex with John Murtha on the House floor was Jean Schmidt, R-Ohio. While debating Murtha's own proposal to withdraw American troops from Iraq in the middle of a war waged to depose a monstrous dictator who posed a threat to American national security, Schmidt made the indisputably true remark that Marines don't cut and run. (She was right! Murtha voted against his own proposal.)

Schmidt's precise words were: "I received a call from Col. Danny Bubp. He also asked me to send Congressman Murtha a message, that cowards cut and run, Marines never do." Bubp later said – pointlessly – that he was not calling Murtha a coward. Neither was Jean Schmidt. (These guys are very brave facing down the VC, but cower before the MSM.)

Now Schmidt is Emmanuel Goldstein, subjected to the liberals' Orwellian two-minutes hate, and not one Republican will defend her. If Republicans were one-tenth as rough with the congressman who wants to withdraw troops in the middle of a war as they are on a congresswoman who calls it cowardly to withdraw troops in the middle of a war, we might have a functioning Republican Party.

Treason Is When You Want The Other Side To Win

"Congressmen who willfully take actions during wartime that damage morale and undermine the military are saboteurs and should be arrested, exiled, or hanged."
President Abraham Lincoln

We are the land of the free because and only because we are the land of the brave. I promise you we are not the land of the free because of war protestors, because of politicians that USE their political status to sell America down the drain or want to FEDX us right into the hands of the terrorists. Hey Liberals! Get your head on straight or get out of my way and our Military's way.

The USA has freed more human beings in 230 years than the rest of the world combined. America has a provable history of freeing oppressed people all over the world in fighting evil dictators. There is a bond between the radical Islam and the American left that not only sickens me, but also angers me!

Do you remember this quote????
Osama bin Laden on one of his fatwas on al-Jazeera TV. On
February 14, 2003 -- about six weeks before troops from the
United States and Britain entered Iraq, bin Laden said:
"The interests of Muslims and the interests of the socialists coincide in the war against the crusaders."

Osama was talking about the millions of leftists that poured into the streets of Europe's capitals and also into the streets of Washington and San Francisco and New York, Miami and all across the globe. Their goal was to prevent the United States and Britain from toppling Saddam Hussein. They chanted "no blood for oil" , they called the United States "the world's greatest terrorist state", they called the American government an "Axis of Evil",and they compared the American president to Adolph Hitler. They are socialists and many in our government are members of Democratic Socialists of America aka Congressional Progressive Caucus. They are names like Rep Cynthia A. McKinney, Rep Maxine Waters, Nancy Pelosi , John Conyers, Henry Waxman, Charles Rangel and the list goes on and on.

Party leadership and candidates are socialists in any reasonable senses of the word, but they know that you can't (yet) win national elections in the USA under that label..... so instead they resort to constant subterfuge and deception. More than 4 dozen members of Congress are self-identified in the current "Progressive Caucus" and at times the list tops 100. And they are of course all Democrats.

When the leftist protesters in America failed to save Saddam Hussein, they marched their activist troops into the Democratic presidential primary campaigns to support the candidacies of anti-war Democrats. In particular, they supported Howard Dean, who condemned America's war in Iraq and hinted that, if elected, he would make peace at the earliest possible opportunity and withdraw American forces.

I am furious that treason is not taken seriously these days, Republicans have been extraordinarily polite in confronting their accusers over grave matters of war and peace.

If you are 19 and in Afghanistan, Iraq…. you name it, and being fired on by terrorists, and the leaders in the Democratic Party say you shouldn't be there at all, it does more than confuse you. It demoralizes you. It saps your will to fight. It gets you killed. The reckless nature of the Democratic attacks on this war are getting Americans killed.

Treason is really not that difficult to define. Treason is when your country is at war and you want the other side to win!!!

The war we are in now the enemy walks among us and can kill thousands of civilians at a stroke. The left's criticism of the war has been made on grounds that the war has nothing to do with American security. Their accusations are made to undermine that security. When leftist critics launch an all-out attack on the Commander-in-Chief by calling him a liar and the war a "fraud." as they have been doing to nauseum. It isquite another thing to make these unfounded charges when our troops are still in Iraq and still in harms way, and Saddam's allies like the French are drumming up world opinion against us. And it is quite another thing, in these circumstances, to say that the President lied to the American people and sent our troops to die under false pretenses.

I declare these names we have heard from Kennedy, Reid, Pelosi, Howard Dean, John Kerry, Jimmy Carter and others are traitors to America and have most definitely committed TREASON and are the enemy within!

The war in Iraq was not about weapons of mass destruction it was about Saddam Hussein's ten-year defiance of international law, his manifest determination to break the UN's arms control arrangements and to acquire weapons of mass destruction. Heck, all the time that the freakazoid Blinx so called inspections gave Saddam to get rid of WMD, to move them our of the country is also a possibility.

There was no rush to war, but rather a deliberate march to war authorized by both political parties and a unanimous vote of the Security Council (which France and Russia and China had no intention of honoring). It was not unilateral, and it was not about a "non-existent imminent threat."

In his State of the Union in January 2003, right before the fighting began, the President said in so many words that we were not going to wait until Saddam Hussein became an imminent threat. We were not going to wait until Saddam already had the weapons in place and the plan to attack us was afoot. We were not going to wait until he struck us first.

The President said this clearly and in so many words...
We will not wait for those events to take place. Saddam will comply with the UN ultimatum. He will disarm and prove that he has disarmed, or we will disarm him. The Bush Doctrine rests on this reality. In a world in which terrorists have the means to kill 3,000 Americans in one attack, we can't wait around for the enemy to prove beyond the shadow of a doubt that he meant us harm.

The mantra of the left is the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Out of simple consideration of self-defense, we must adopt the view that the friend of my enemy is my enemy.

Never forget what our enemy is capable of doing! That means the terrorists as well as the left, the liberals, the socialists of America, the enemy within.

And NEVER forget why we are free and who we are indebted to for our freedom…Our Veterans, Our Military!
This is my favorite quote in all the world!

"Freedom! No Word Was Ever Spoken
That Held Out Greater Hope,
Demanded Greater Sacrifice,
Needed More To Be Nurtured,
Blessed More The Giver,
Cursed More Its Destroyer,
Or Came Closer To Being
God"s Will On Earth.
And I Think Thats Worth Fighting For."

- General Omar Bradley

My Response Regarding My Post About US Marine Corporal Jeffrey B. Starr

I have received emails and also a response to my poster called.......
"New York Times Doctoring GI's Quotes!"
It is a little further down on my blog. The emails I received asked me pretty much the same questions as the comment that was posted under that topic.
One thing that stood out was this question........"What you said about 52 per cent of Americans voting to stay the course in 2004 and your wondering why no one is enlisting to help us win"...

This is my response ......

You say US Marine Corporal Jeffrey B. Starr, should not have served the extra tours in Iraq and come home to his girlfriend and family.

But you are not letting Starr decide for himself. I know several soldiers that right now are serving their 2nd and some their 3rd tours in Iraq. Why? Because they WANT to, because they have seen the difference they are making in Iraq.

As far as recruiting back here at home being low as you said…..

Well if you have noticed the LEFT, the Democrats, the anti-American scum with the help of the Media are screaming in the press, at street corners at Protest rallies, at Walter Reed Hospital (where our Military has gone to heal to be treated for their wounds), at Recruiting Offices (where they wanting to serve are screamed at as they walk in, made to feel they are horrible people for wanting to serve our country)….YES all over the place!

They LEFT again with the help from the Media keep saying our troops go to an "illegal war" and "kill innocent people"! They are filled in with so much anti-America propaganda in high school and college nowadays that it would seem almost impossible to get a "patriotic" emotion.

I would think that if they could see the pride of what American troops have accomplished in Afghanistan and Iraq, it might help, but where would they see that??? Most certainly NOT the Media. No way jose!

Most potential recruits know that there's a good chance they'll end up in Iraq within a year. We're going on our fourth year of active warfare, and it's tough sledding, recruiting wise. Even in WWII, a "popular" war, most people didn't volunteer, they waited to get drafted.

Then there is another thing….. I wish our Government would pay the soldiers fighting on the ground much more then they are making now. And get away from this promising of benefits crap…. make it real cash, aka increasing salary.

When the invasion started, every time our soldiers ran into a firefight, the media tried to portray it as the worst military disaster since Custer's Last Stand. Prior to the Jan 30th election, the MSM had many people believing that most Iraqis were not going to participate. Whenever our soldiers and marines engage the enemy in battle, the vast majority of times the MSM reports our casualties but not the enemies. The liberal media also fails to mention that we have won nearly all of these battles.

Here is the bottom line: the enemy has failed to accomplish nearly all of his objectives. The enemy failed to prevent the fall of Saddam Hussein. The enemy has failed to prevent free elections. The enemy has failed to start a civil war among the Shittes, Kurds, and Sunnis. The enemy has failed to generate a popular upraising against Coalition forces. The enemy has failed to prevent thousands of freedom loving Iraqis from volunteering for the new army and security forces despite desperate attempts of violate intimidation. The enemy has failed to prevent Bush's reelection. The enemy has failed to prevent America and her allies from driving him from his strongholds like Fallujah. Finally, the enemy has failed to drive America from Iraq. And we ain't leaving until we win!

What you need to realize is that you have not lost a war simply because the enemy shots back. You have not lost a war simply because it takes some years. People need to re-read about our struggles against determined foes such as the British Imperial Army, the Nazis, the Japanese army, and the communist North Korean army.
We won these wars, and many others, because we had determined leadership in Washington that supported our troops. The Bush Administration is showing that same support and millions of Americans are showing that support too. If it weren’t for the damned Media giving the mic to their socialist, un-American, haters of America their endless 15 minutes of fame you would be more aware of the truth about what awesome things our troops have done and are doing in this war against Islam.

Don't Dress West If You Know What's Best!

Consider, if you will, the humble mannequin. Where would retail be without those plastic molded women who demonstrate what a dress or pair of pants looks like from all angles? Iranian women soon will soon not have that privilege.

City tackles titillating mannequins

Police in northeastern Iran are launching a new morality drive by confiscating alluring mannequins from boutiques and clothes stalls in the bazaar, authorities in the city of Bojnourd said Monday.
A spokesman for the city's judiciary, who asked not be named, explained the drive would tackle problems of "public chastity." He said 65 mannequins have been impounded so far.
He explained the crack-down on tailors' dummies was part of a larger offensive against anti-social behavior such as vandalism and biker gangs.
Bojnourd owes its traditional religious climate to the nearby shrine city of Mashhad, a focal point of pilgrimage for the world's Shi'ite Muslims.

So what exactly are "alluring mannequins" anyway? Mannequins not wearing a burkha? Mannequins who are not veiled? Mannequins who smile?

Dangerous Left Tops Itself Once Again

I am bringing this back up to the top.
I had posted it on Monday the 24th. But it is sooo important.

To my husband ( Retired Navy Vet), and to all the other men in my family that have served in various branches of the Military, to the Veterans of every war Americans fought in and to the troops serving now. I am so sorry about these people, Gold Star Mothers for Peace, I am sorry they exist!

Gold Star Mothers for Peace (breeders most definitely NOT mothers) are going to be holding parties across America to celebrate when the 2,000th soldier dies in the line of duty in Iraq. Oh they are organized all of them, and they are coming out from under rocks. Groups like American Friends Service Committee (hosted by the Gold Star Mothers for Peace), we all know that is Cindy Sheehan’s gig, others too …….just look at this……

"Soon we’ll be reaching another horrific milestone in the war in Iraq – the death of the 2,000th U.S. service member. AFSC, Military Families Speak Out, Gold Star Families for Peace, and Iraq Veterans Against the War are calling for people across the U.S. to stand up and say that the needless killing of U.S. troops and Iraqis must stop and that the resources funding this war are needed for other things."

These are the people whose sick minds hold up signs like this....

They are all prepared to hold events, parties you name it for the moment the 2000th soldier is killed in the line of duty in Iraq.

They are on the side of the insurgents, the side of the PLO, the side of the Taliban and anyone that can kill one of our soldiers. They are not against violence, they create violence, their hate and anger run deep, it is part of their DNA to hate America, to Hate our Military. They are the ones that are PRO death in their wanting abortions that murder innocent babies. And yet they are against the death penalty when someone has been proven to be a killer of innocent people. Their cheering on the deaths of our troops, they are cheering for every IED, for every suicide bomber, for every attack on our troops that might lead to the death of one of our soldiers. (Army,Navy, Air Force and Marines, National Guard, etc.) as long as they are killed in this war.

These people, these sick and twisted people live off the freedom we have and don’t give a damn you gave it to us. You and I know, we know that our freedom came at a very high price. It was paid for with the blood, and sacrifice of thousands of our Military in wars fought over the years. In Vietnam the wonderful Nam Veterans fought Communism. Our Veterans took a thousand towns and villages, snow fields and empty stretches of ocean, the jungles hot and deep, and fought the fight for FREEDOM, and turned them into sacred places with their courage in the face of unimaginable horror.

These sickos wants us to leave Iraq, to run away from the insurgents so the insurgents can show up later on our shores, in our cities and towns and kill not only us but these idiot sickos as well. They are soooo stupid they don’t even realize or perhaps they don’t care that the terrorists want them dead!

Long ago President Reagan felt we would have problems with Islam and it’s followers………

"I don't think you can overstate the importance that the rise of Islamic fundamentalism will have to the rest of the world in the century ahead-especially if, as seems possible, its most fanatical elements get their hands on nuclear and chemical weapons and the means to deliver them against their enemies." --Ronald Reagan

Right now there are 281 events planned in 47 States and more to join in probably. These sick groups are going to be asking Congress to stop funding this war. And what these people are doing is treasonous. ALL of them, every breath
they take in free air is because of our troops, our Veterans that paid the price for their being able to do what they are and these vile, treasonous, communists should be kicked out of our country.

The First Amendment is one thing...but these people are among the worst examples of humanity...what they are doing is beyond my imagination. Pure scum is all they are.

They camped out right where the soldiers have to wait to pick up public transportation. They're camped out by (and timed to coincide with) the buses bringing the freshly wounded from Andrews Airforce Base. The first thing the wounded see is not the safety of a military medical base - but "you got maimed for a lie". Forcing wounded soldiers to walk a gauntlet of hostile peaceniks when they're just trying to get treatment.

You already know that Code Pink donated a check for $600 K plus to the insurgents in Iraq. That is old news but it still makes me urious!

They don't give two hoots in hell about our troops or even the war - all they care about is getting their smarmy pink mugs on television.  Everything they supposedly stand for is a lie. There is not one single ounce of compassion in their empty hearts - it's all publicity and politics - period.

How often have we said of the hostile reception Vietnam vets got upon returning home: "Never Again. We will never allow our war vets to experience the demeaning treatment and hatred the left heaped upon them during Vietnam." This was going to be the generation of vets that felt appreciated, admired, and honored.

God help us as a Nation. lease pray for our troops! I invite you to visit my Troops Today page at my web site.

We are winning this war. I hate that men and women have lost their precious lives in this war. But there has never been peace without war.  America is a perfect example of this. And for myself, for my loved ones (family and friends) we will always be deeply grateful for those that gave us our freedom, and for the freedom our Military has fought for so others can taste freedom too.

Beth at My Vast Right Wing Conspiracy has an excellent write up about this too.

And also check it out at Blackfive too.

Schools May Drop Religious Holidays

Rather than add a day off around Ramadan, days off around Easter and Yom Kippur may be eliminated.

By MELANIE AVE, Times Staff Writer
Published October 7, 2005

TAMPA - There may be no day off next school year for the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur. Also on the chopping block are vacation days for the Christian faith's Good Friday and the Monday after Easter.

After considering a request to recognize a Muslim school holiday, the Hillsborough County School Board next week will discuss ending student days off on all religious holidays, whether they be Christian, Jewish or Muslim.

The Entire Article Is Here

Hey Muslims!
Get this and get it good! When YOU start to be outraged at what YOUR so called religion has done to human beings in this world. When YOU apologize and leave your Islam death cult….and speak out, yell out to the world by apologizing and telling us…………………………..

Tell us you are sorry for the 1983 Bombing of Marine Barracks, Beirut…..Shiite suicide bombers exploded truck near U.S. military barracks at Beirut airport, killing 241 Marines. Minutes later a second bomb killed 58 French paratroopers in their barracks in West Beirut.

Tell us you are sorry for 9-11 when 3000 people were murdered in the name of Allah. We will never forget the sight of people jumping from two of the highest buildings in the world hoping against hope that if they moved their arms fast enough that they may fly and survive a certain death from burning.

Tell us you are sorry for blaming 9-11 on a Jewish or right wing conspiracy.

Tell us you are sorry for the murder of more than three hundred school children and adults in Russia.

Tell us you are sorry for the murder of train passengers in Spain.

Tell us you are sorry for all the victims of suicide bombings.

Tell us you are sorry for the beheadings, abductions, rapes, violent Jihad and all the atrocities committed by Muslims around the world.

Tell us you are sorry for a religious education that raised killers rather than train people to do good in the world.

Tell us you are sorry for not rising up against the dictators who have ruled the Muslim world for decades.

This actual list would be too HUGE to put it ALL here but I want an apology for every murder, every death, every bombing and then and ONLY then I might listen to you….I might give a

The Muslims with all their banning of this and that. Their whining and complaining about things that are offensive to them and the way people and governments give in to them only gives them credibility. Who the hell gives credibility to killers, murders and cults! They should fear us not the other way around.

We are at war with Islam and if the Muslim’s that say they are good Muslim’s were good people they would be so outraged at their religion of so called peace they would be incapable of continuing to stay in their cult.

Well their demands or requests about Muslims holidays back fired right in their faces. It will only stir the pot of more anger towards them.

No....No.....NO!

IRAN TO LAUNCH SPY SATELLITE

By the end of September a Russian Cosmos 3 missile will be launched from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome 800 km north of Moscow, carrying two Iranian satellites into orbit. Although the satellites are claimed to be for meteorological and experimental purposes, experts believe that one of them will possess surveillance capabilities allowing it to observe American and Israeli military facilities throughout the Middle East. More importantly, experts believe that the Iranian space program serves as a cover for developing more advanced long-range missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is a dangerous man. I would never trust him, nor believe any promises he makes to the USA....NO, not ever! To allow Iran to have two Iranian satellites.............is bad news and should be stopped if possible.

Cair Complains and Boeing and Bell Cave in

Boeing, Bell apologise for mosque attack ad

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Boeing Co. apologised on Friday for a mistakenly published advertisement for its V-22 Osprey aircraft showing troops dropping onto the roof of a mosque in what appears to be a simulated battle scene.

The ad, coming amid rising concern among Muslims over U.S. military action in Iraq and Afghanistan, prompted immediate complaints from the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), which demanded the withdrawal of the campaign. The rest of the write up is HERE

A spokesman for CAIR said on Friday the group welcomed the companies' swift response, but would press the issue of how such an ad came to be created.

Here is a larger size of the ad below in case you are unable to read the fine print

I really hate it when anyone bows down to Cair. I think it is a good ad.

We are at War!

It is TIME TO SHOW OUR TRUE PATRIOTISM!

I am sick and tired of those gutless, pansy-*ssed liberals who refuse to pick up a rifle and step up to the plate to defend our nation. And the men and women that choose to NOT show support for our troops!

I am sick to my gut with the media whose constant diet of "military bashing" has hurt us so painfully in the past.

Our young men and women deserve something our Viet Nam veterans NEVER HAD... and that is HOME SUPPORT! As for me, personally, if I see just a hint of the "red" gutless jerks I referred to above I can ONLY see them in one light - that being an enemy of my country now. And you can take that to the bank!

It's TIME to show our true character as a nation. One nation... under God... fighting for the "right stuff". And it is our military who are going to pay the bill.

"There was a time when our national security was based on a standing army here within our borders and shore batteries of artillery along our coasts, and of course, a navy to keep the sea-lanes open for the shipping of things necessary to our well-being. The world has changed. Today, our national security can be threatened in faraway places. It's up to all of us to be aware of the strategic importance of such places and to be ableto identify them." -- Ronald Reagan

Many political pundits, pacifists and media personnel want us to forget the carnage. They say we must focus on the bravery of the rescuers and ignore the cowardice of the killers. They implore us to understand the motivation of the perpetrators. Major television stations have announced they will assist the healing process by not replaying devastating footage of the planes crashing into the Twin Towers. I will NOT forget!

I will not forget the liberal media who abused freedom of the press to kick our country when it was vulnerable and hurting.

I will not forget that CBS anchor Dan Rather preceded President Bush's address to the nation with the snide remark, "No matter how you feel about him, he is still our president."

And I will not forget that ABC's Mark Halperin warned if reporters weren't informed of every little detail of this war, they aren't "likely --nor should they be expected -- to show deference."

I will not forget the Clinton administration equipped Islamic terrorists and their supporters with the world's most sophisticated telecommunications equipment and encryption technology, thereby compromising America's ability to trace terrorist radio, cell phone, land lines, faxes and modem communications.

I will not forget the moral victory handed the North Vietnamese by American war protesters who reviled and spat upon the returning soldiers, Airmen, sailors and Marines.

"We stand here on the only island of freedom that is left in the whole world. There is no place left to flee to... no place to escape to. We defend freedom here or it is gone. There is no place for us to run, only to make a stand. And if we fail, I think we face telling our children, and our children's children, what it was we found more precious than freedom. Because I am sure someday -- if we fail in this --there will be a generation that will ask."
--Ronald Reagan

"... We live in a great and free country only because our forefathers were willing to wage war rather than accept the peace that spells destruction." --Teddy Roosevelt

"Moral truth is the same in every culture, in every time, and in every place... We are in a conflict between good and evil, and America will call evil by its name. We will lead the world in opposing it." --President George W. Bush

My eyes well up with tears when I consider the years so many of our finest and bravest men suffered from injuries that were inflicted upon them by the enemy emboldened by Hanoi Jane, the Cindy Sheehans of this world and Kennedy's, Kerry's and other LIBERAL's rhetoric. The names on the wall. The ones we will never know. Their blood cries out from the ground.

Some Mothers are only Breeders

OK so there are Mothers and there are mothers......and this one folks
is a real motherF#$%^@ ~! Sorry about swearing but I am furious!

She has betrayed her own son, this country and all the troops serving now. She has spit so to speak in the face of every Veteran that has fought, served, been wounded and also those that died to give her the freedom she soooo abuses in what she is doing and saying.

A person cannot yell fire in a theatre right? Well this BITCH Cindy Sheehan is not only " yelling fire" she lit the freakin match!

This woman is a traitor, she is a Hanoi Jane wanna be as far as I am concerned. And she is USING her son in the most despicable way to show her hate for President Bush. So what I will never 'get' is why we allow this to go on. There is a point where protesting and crossing the line into treason exists... doesn't it????!!!!

Code Pink, the group backing Cindy Sheehan, has been protesting at the gates of Walter Reed on every Friday since March. It just does not get much worse than people protesting at the hospital where the wounded are recovering. The First Amendment is one thing... but these people are among the worst examples of humanity... what they are doing is beyond my imagination. Pure scum is all they are.

They're camped out right where the soldiers have to wait to pick up public transportation. They're camped out by (and timed to coincide with) the buses bringing the freshly wounded from Andrews Air Force Base. Forcing wounded soldiers to walk a gauntlet of hostile peaceniks when they're just trying to get treatment.

You already know that Code Pink donated a check for $600 K plus to the insurgents in Iraq. That is old news but it still makes me furious! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!! They don't give two hoots in hell about our troops or even the war - all they care about is getting their smarmy pink mugs on television. Everything they supposedly stand for is a lie. There is not one single ounce of compassion in their empty hearts - it's all publicity and politics - period.

Perspective

This was sent to me by a dear friend and a Vietnam Veteran. Captain Dave flew Dustoff 22 ... '67 to '68. Thank you Dave.

Some things to think about.

There were 39 combat related killings in Iraq in January.

In the fair city of Detroit there were 35 murders in the month of January. That's just one American city, about as deadly as the entire war-torn country of Iraq.

When some claim that President Bush shouldn't have started this war, state the following:

a. FDR led us into World War II.

b. Germany never attacked us; Japan did.
From 1941-1945, 450,000 lives were lost... an average of 112,500 per year.

c. Truman finished that war and started one in Korea.
North Korea never attacked us. From 1950-1953, 55,000 lives were lost... an average of 18,334 per year.

d. John F. Kennedy started the Vietnam conflict in 1962.
Vietnam never attacked us.

e. Johnson turned Vietnam into a quagmire. From 1965-1975, 58,000 lives were lost... an average of 5,800 per year.

f. Clinton went to war in Bosnia without UN or French consent.Bosnia never attacked us. He was offered Osama bin Laden's head on a platter three times by Sudan and did nothing. Osama has attacked us on multiple occasions.

g. In the years since terrorists attacked us, President Bush has liberated two countries, crushed the Taliban, crippled al-Qaida, put nuclear inspectors in Libya, Iran, and North Korea without firing a shot, and captured a terrorist who slaughtered 300,000 of his own people!

The Democrats are complaining about how long the war is taking.
But....
It took less time to take Iraq than it took Janet Reno to take the Branch Davidian compound. That was a 51-day operation.

We've been looking for evidence for chemical weapons in Iraq for less time than it took Hillary Clinton to find the Rose Law Firm billing records.

It took less time for the 3rd Infantry Division and the Marines to destroy the Medina Republican Guard than it took Ted Kennedy to call the police after his Oldsmobile sank at Chappaquiddick.

It took less time to take Iraq than it took to count the votes in Florida!!!!

Our Commander-In-Chief is doing a GREAT JOB! The Military morale is high!

The biased media hopes we are too ignorant to realize the facts but WAIT there's more....

JOHN GLENN (ON THE SENATE FLOOR)
Mon, 26 Jan 2004 11:13

Some people still don't understand why military personnel do what they do for a living. This exchange between Senators John Glenn and Senator Howard Metzenbaum is worth reading. Not only is it a pretty impressive impromptu speech, but it's also a good example of one man's explanation of why men and women in the armed services do what they do for a living.

This IS a typical, though sad, example of what some who have never served think of the military. Senator Metzenbaum (speaking to Senator Glenn):

"How can you run for Senate when you've never held a real job?"

Senator Glenn (D-Ohio):

"I served 23 years in the United States Marine Corps. I served through two wars. I flew 149 missions. My plane was hit by anti aircraft fire on 12 different occasions. I was in the space program. It wasn't my checkbook, Howard; it was my life on the line. It was not a nine-to-five job, where I took time off to take the daily cash receipts to the bank.

I ask you to go with me .. as I went the other day... to a veteran's hospital and look those men, with their mangled bodies, look them in the eye, and tell THEM they didn't hold a job!

You go with me to the Space Program at NASA and go,as I have gone, to the widows and orphans of Ed White, Gus Grissom and Roger Chaffee... and you look those kids in the eye and tell them that their DADS didn't hold a job.

You go with me on Memorial Day and you stand in Arlington National Cemetery, where I have more friends buried than I'd like to remember, and you watch those waving flags.

You stand there, and you think about this nation, and you tell ME that those people didn't have a job?

What about you?"

During W.W.II, Howard Metzenbaum was an attorney representing the Communist Party in the USA.

Now he's a Senator!

If you can read this, thank a teacher.
If you are reading it in English, thank a Veteran.
