Donald Trump became the first sitting American president to set foot in North Korea, briefly crossing the border in the Demilitarized Zone after meeting the country’s leader Kim Jong Un for the third time.


SEOUL, South Korea — Taking an unprecedented step onto North Korean soil, President Donald Trump announced Sunday that Washington and Pyongyang will relaunch stalled nuclear talks during an extraordinary last-minute meeting with Kim Jong Un.

Side-by-side with Kim in the heavily-fortified demilitarized zone, Trump became the first sitting U.S. president to cross the 1953 armistice line separating North and South Korea, then joined Kim for a roughly 50-minute meeting.

This was an 'IMPRESSIVE' Move by Potus and signaled 'BRAVERY' and "TRUST" which Kim noted immediately!.... Potus spoke volumes in that walk solo that not only Kim understood but every N.Korean soldier understood!

The Senate on Wednesday overwhelmingly approved a bipartisan $4.5 billion bill to combat the escalating humanitarian crisis on the southern border, moments after rejecting a House version over its restrictions on enforcement efforts -- setting up a race to reconcile the two measures before Congress leaves town. The Republican-controlled Senate bill passed 84-8.


That vote came minutes after the House version was voted down 55-37. The Senate vote could put pressure on the Democrat-controlled House to pass its version before Congress breaks for the July 4 recess.

That's my fierce, fearless President and his wonderful, beautiful wife, the First Lady of the United States! Trump is a sincere caring man.
I do not understand people who say they cannot understand Melania when she talks. There is no problem understanding one single word that lady speaks. Those remarks are just launched attacks and are meaningless. She is magnificent. Beautiful inside and out.
When Trump worked to build his own business, everybody loved him. As soon as he wants to help rebuild the country, they all hate him. Figure that one out.
I love them as a couple. They are both wonderful human beings. We couldn't be luckier to have him as our President. I'm very very proud that Mr Donald Trump is our President and just as proud of our first lady. So beautiful wise and caring. God bless them and their families.

President Donald J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump to Host Congressional Picnic at the White House


President Donald J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump are pleased to welcome Members of Congress and their families for the Trump Administration’s second Congressional Picnic on the South Lawn this evening.

Vice President Mike Pence and Second Lady Karen Pence will join the First Family in welcoming families for a bipartisan evening of music and fun.

This year’s Congressional Picnic theme will be Summer Solstice in celebration of the start of the summer season. Several lawn games will be featured as well as various festival vendors including a popcorn cart, baked pretzel stand, and cotton candy station. Face painting and ferris wheel rides will also be part of the night’s festivities.

The menu will be traditional picnic fare prepared by White House Executive Chef Cristeta Comerford. Items include charred lemon chicken, grilled plank salmon, charcoal grilled rib eye steak, and Baja shrimp tacos. Other sides include house made kettle chips, fresh salad greens harvested by the National Park Service from the White House garden, and locally grown vegetables and fresh fruits from California, Georgia, and Washington State. Dessert includes White House Honey and a variety of homemade cookies, brownies, and pies topped with vanilla ice cream.

“My husband and I are looking forward to tomorrow’s Congressional Picnic,” said First lady Melania Trump. “It’s an opportunity for elected officials to put aside differences and come together as a community.”

Performances will include “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band and The United States Navy Band Cruisers.

President Trump will make brief remarks.

Trump tweets Iran made 'big mistake' after shooting down US drone

President Trump tweeted Thursday that Iran made a “VERY BIG MISTAKE” by shooting down a U.S. spy drone in the already tense oil-rich region.Hours earlier, U.S. officials said an Iranian surface-to-air missile shot down the unmanned military surveillance drone. “IRANIAN REPORTS THAT THE AIRCRAFT WAS OVER IRAN ARE FALSE,” the U.S. Central Command said in a statement. “THIS WAS AN UNPROVOKED ATTACK ON A U.S. SURVEILLANCE ASSET IN INTERNATIONAL AIRSPACE.”

Fortunately, the U.S. Navy “flight crew” of this Triton was operating it from Naval Air Station Jacksonville, in Florida, with ground crews in the Middle East for launch, recovery and maintenance. The Tritons have a lot of automatic features but they don’t fly themselves except in back-up mode.

Still, the unprovoked attack on the U.S. Navy Triton was unquestionably an escalation by Iran.

The Triton was on the look-out for Iranian naval attacks, and it was guarding commercial shipping, US and allied naval vessels. The Triton is not your backyard drone. It’s really an unmanned plane derived from the U.S. Air Force RQ-4 Global Hawk and optimized for maritime work. The MQ-4 Triton has a wingspan of 130 feet and at 32,000 lbs., it weighs as much as a city bus or Class 7 truck.

Was the Triton in international airspace? Probably. The Triton didn’t need to loop over Iran’s land mass to carry out its overwater mission.

And get this. Triton is unarmed. This surveillance asset posed absolutely no threat of any kind to Iran. Except, of course, for revealing Iran’s naval activity.

More than any other single factor, Iran’s military activity is breaking apart the 2015 nuclear deal. Iran has acted foolishly, again.

Claiming the Triton shoot-down is yet another sign that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard under the direct command of the Ayatollah is spoiling for a fight.

This shoot-down and Iran’s celebration of it will help the Trump administration make the case with Great Britain, France and Germany that Iran can’t be trusted.

Aerial surveillance is already making a difference. German Chancellor Angela Merkel has overruled her foreign minister and acknowledged “strong evidence” of Iran’s involvement in the tanker shipping attacks, according to Germany’s Deutsche Welle newspaper on June 18.

So the Triton, and its surveillance team-mates are doing their job well.

In case you missed Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's (D-NY) latest hot take, the freshman lawmaker accused the Trump administration of running concentration camps on the U.S.-Mexico border, in reference to the detention facilities where asylum seekers are often held.

"And that the fact that concentration camps are now an institutionalized practice in the home of the free is extraordinarily disturbing," she said in an Instagram Live video. "And we need to do something about it,"

Lawmakers and social media users chastised her for minimizing the cruelty of the Holocaust, but the backlash only emboldened her to double down on her egregious analogy.

Fox News anchors didn't hold back either. On "America's Newsroom" Tuesday morning, Bill Hemmer asked Ocasio-Cortez a series of questions to determine whether she had any authority to make such a comparison.

"Has she ever been to Yad Vashem in Jerusalem?" Hemmer asked his guest, Art Del Cueto, the VP of the National Border Patrol Council, during a segment on her remarks. "Or Auschwitz, Birkenau, and southern Poland? Or Dakau in Germany?"

Hemmer had one final question:

"Does she not owe every Jew on the planet an apology?"

I had the honor of walking through the Yad Vashem museum during a trip abroad in 2016. I and several of the fellow tourists in my group failed to make it through the building dry-eyed. I'm sure countless others can report similar experiences, for the atrocities committed against the Jewish people are not to be compared.

Abp. Viganò names DC National Shrine rector Msgr. Rossi as homosexual predator


WASHINGTON, D.C., June 18, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) — Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò revealed in a new interview that he received complaints, as papal nuncio, that Msgr. Walter Rossi, rector of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C., had engaged in homosexual harassment and predation.

In an interview with Italian journalist Marco Tosatti, Viganò, a former apostolic nuncio to the United States, said, “Monsignor Rossi is, without a doubt, a member of the ‘gay mafia.’” Viganò, who accused Pope Francis of covering up sexual misdeeds of high-ranking prelates, went on to say, “I can say that, while I was a nuncio in the United States, I received the documentation that states that Msgr. Rossi had sexually molested male students at the Catholic University of America.” According to Viganò, “the Vatican, in particular Cardinal [Pietro] Parolin, is well aware of the situation of Msgr. Rossi, as is Cardinal [Donald] Wuerl.”

Viganò added, “I can finally testify that Rossi’s name was proposed for promotion to my predecessor, Archbishop Pietro Sambi, who blocked his progress.” Viganò said, “These facts clearly show how the ‘gay mafia’ operates.”

George Neumayr of The American Spectator has reported that Catholic University of America alumni said Msgr. Rossi had “groomed” male students and even suggested having group sex. Neumayr cited an unidentified “archdiocesan source” who said Rossi rewarded men for submitting to him while persecuting those who did not. That source claimed that Rossi is a “gay sexual harasser” of students at CUA. Rossi is a member of the CUA board, as are Cardinals Timothy Dolan, Blase Cupich, and Daniel DiNardo, as well as several bishops.

Viganò noted that Msgr. Rossi has connections to Bishop Michael Bransfield, Rossi’s immediate predecessor at the basilica — who was suspended after evidence emerged of his sexual assaults on seminarians and misappropriation of millions of dollars for personal expenses — and then-cardinal Theodore McCarrick, who chose Rossi to replace Bransfield. Bransfield was noted for giving sizeable monetary gifts to bishops and priests. Once revelations of his behavior were made public, many of those gifts were returned. Viganò told LifeSiteNews that a monetary gift he received from Bransfield was immediately turned over to a Church charity for African seminarians.

Archbishop William Lori of Baltimore is conducting an investigation into Bransfield. McCarrick is the disgraced former archbishop of Washington, D.C. whom Pope Francis laicized because of allegations of serial sexual abuse, including pedophilia.

“In fact, his successor as rector of the Basilica, Msgr. Walter Rossi, he was appointed there by McCarrick the same year that Bransfield was appointed bishop,” Viganò said.


In the face of push-back by some sectors of the Catholic Church, Viganò recently told the Washington Post:

Not only have my testimonies not been denied, but some of the facts they contain have been independently confirmed. To cite just two examples, the letter of [then-Archbishop Leonardo] Sandri to Father [Boniface] Ramsey [of New York] confirmed my assertion that Vatican officials knew of the McCarrick allegations as early as 2000, and Cardinal [Marc] Ouellet, in his open letter to me, confirmed that he told me in person and then put in writing the restrictions imposed by Pope Benedict on McCarrick.

Viganò, who is now in hiding, also told the Washington Post that homosexuality within the priesthood and bishops who engage in cover-ups continue to afflict the Church. He wrote, “[T]he ‘gay mafia’ among bishops is bound together not by shared sexual intimacy but by a shared interest in protecting and advancing one another professionally and sabotaging all efforts at reform.” Viganò also wrote, “It is not pedophiles but gay priests preying on post-pubertal boys who have bankrupted the U.S. dioceses.” He cited Fr. Paul Sullins of the Ruth Institute, who reported in “Is Catholic clergy sex abuse related to homosexual priests?” that the share of homosexual men admitted to the priesthood rose from “twice that of the general population in the 1950s to eight times the general population in the 1980s. This trend was strongly correlated with increasing child sex abuse.” Sullins also reported, “Estimates from these findings predict that, had the proportion of homosexual priests remained at the 1950s level, at least 12,000 fewer children, mostly boys, would have suffered abuse."

Given this “overwhelming evidence,” Viganò said it is “mindboggling” that homosexuality has not been addressed in recent Church documents, including the unprecedented February 2019 Vatican conference on sexual abuse. Vigano wrote, “Given the overwhelming evidence, it is mind-boggling that the word ‘homosexuality’ has not appeared once, in any of the recent official documents of the Holy See, including the two Synods on the Family, the one on Youth, and the recent Summit last February.”

People are lining up for President Trump's event on Tuesday.

People are camping out and waiting in line to get into the Amway Center to see President Donald Trump speak live and kick-off his re-election campaign.

Ticketed supporters will be allowed in on a first-come, first-serve basis, according to the Trump campaign.

“It’s like 30 hours, but it’ll be worth it,” said Gary Ruot, Trump supporter, about camping out for the event.

“We know that there’s gonna be a lot of people here, so we decided to get here early and we’re hoping to get really close and close as possible as we can get to Trump,” said Nathan Gunn, Trump supporter.

“We’re gonna glamp, because we’re at a hotel,” she said.

Galez and her four sisters drove up from Miami, but they got a hotel and are taking turns sitting in line.

Galvez says the dedication will pay off when she sees Trump.

“The whole experience, I hear it’s fantastic,” she said.

Nathan Gunn is only 16 years old, but he turn’s 18 just in time to vote in 2020.

He’s excited to hear the President’s message.

“I hope to just experience this with all the people here and get to know more people and basically hear what Trump has planned for 2020,” Gunn said.

But these Trump fans are in for a rough 24 hours.

Rain and heat are in the forecast.

“Especially our out-of-towners who are not familiar with the heat and humidity,” said Rich Wales, Orlando Interim Fire Chief.

Orlando emergency responders are expecting a busy day ahead.

“In the event of an emergency, Orlando fire department will be onsite. We’ll have personal, paramedics, firefighters inside the venue, as well as outside the venue,” he said.

Supporters say they’re in it for the long haul.

“Rain or shine, we’re going to stay here no matter what,” Ruot said.

Doors open at the Amway Center on Tuesday at 5p.m.

For those who can’t make it inside, the Trump campaign is hosting a block party across the street from the arena complete with food, live music and big screens to watch the rally live.

Trump to announce re-election bid at Amway Center


ORLANDO, Fla. - More than 40 hours before President Donald Trump will announce his re-election bid in Orlando, supporters started lining up outside the Amway Center.

Eight Trump supporters started camping out Monday morning, with the first one showing up at 2:30 a.m. The rally is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. Tuesday.


Gary Beck, a Trump supporter from Panama City, was the first in line.

"There's going to be a bunch of people, and it's going to be pretty intense," Beck said. "The electricity is going to be high. It's time for America to get back on its feet and be made better than it's ever been before."

Trump tweeted Monday that the rally "looks to be setting records," with more than 100,000 ticket requests. The Amway Center seats 20,000.

"We are building large movie screens outside to take care of everybody," Trump tweeted.

The visit marks Trump's first campaign event in Orlando since he ended his 2016 presidential campaign with a "Thank You Tour" stop at the Central Florida Fairgrounds.

Trump's last visit to the Orlando area was in October 2018 when he spoke at the International Association of Chiefs of Police at the Orange County Convention Center.

Ticket requests for the event have quadrupled the capability of the Amway Center, which holds 20,000 people. The president said in a tweet last week the event will be “the hottest of them all,” with 74,000 ticket requests already made for the event. He upped that number to 100,000 in a tweet Monday morning.

“Orlando rally entry is on a first-come, first-serve basis, so a ticket doesn’t necessarily guarantee entry," McEnany said in a statement to News 6 partner Florida Today.

Campaign security and U.S. Secret Service will close the entrance once the building reaches capacity, according to Amway Center.

Viewing outside Amway Center

"There will be screens outside the venue to watch the rally once capacity is reached,” McEnany said in her statement, which also noted that a "Trump tailgater" would be held outside starting at 10 a.m.

Timeline

Doors to the Amway Center open at 4 p.m. and the event starts at 8 p.m.

Parking

Parking around the Amway Center will be extremely limited due to security for the event. Attendees are encouraged to car pool, rideshare and take advantage of public transportation. Find more on that later on in the story.

Parking in city-owned garages will only be available for purchase on site on the day of the event on a first-come, first-served basis, according to the Amway Center.

Sunrail

SunRail will operate its normal service schedule until 10 p.m. Tuesday. After 10 p.m., SunRail will operate three northbound and three southbound trains departing from the Church Street Station.

President Trump says former ICE acting director and Fox News contributor Tom Homan is coming back to the White House as a 'border czar.'

The president said that Homan would take a “border czar” position and would report directly to him.

“He’ll be a border czar, he’ll be very much involved with the border, he’ll be reporting directly to me, he’ll be probably be working out of the White House but probably spending a lot of time at the border,” Trump said. “He’s a good man. Done a good job.”
Homan served as the acting director of ICE in the Trump administration in 2017 before he joined Fox News Channel as a contributor in August 2018.

Trump also said he was not committed to nominating Acting DHS Secretary Kevin McAleenan to take the job full time.

“He is doing a very nice job, we’re going to see, I’ve got to get used to him, because its a very important thing to me, the border,” he said.

Trump noted that he was bringing in other “tough” people to handle immigration, such as Mark Morgan to lead ICE and Ken Cuccinelli at the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services.

“Ken Cuccinelli just took over, he’s fantastic, he’s as tough as you get, he’s smart,” Trump said.

A homosexual bishop from Argentina undergoing a canonical trial has been criminally charged with sexually abusing seminarians.

The prosecutor's office in the Argentine province of Salta publicized the formal charge on Friday. Bishop Gustavo Zanchetta could be facing three to 10 years in prison for "aggravated continuous sexual abuse committed by a minister of a religious organization."

Prosecutor Mónica Viazzi charged Zanchetta last Thursday with sexual abuse aggravated by his religious authority.

Zanchetta was scheduled to return to Rome last Friday but authorities confiscated his passport and banned him from leaving Argentina.

He has also been required to establish permanent residence in Argentina, be present at all hearings regarding his case and stay away from his victims and their families. Zanchetta would be taken into custody immediately for violating any of these requirements.

In May, Pope Francis told Mexico's Televisa that he had received the results of a preliminary investigation into Bp. Gustavo Zanchetta and ordered the case be canonically tried by a Vatican tribunal, marking a notably different direction in dealing with Zanchetta.

In September 2015, Chancellor Secretary Luis Amancio Díaz discovered pornographic pictures on Zanchetta's phone. The pictures included gay porn involving young men and images of Zanchetta showing his genitalia and sexually gratifying himself. Using WhatsApp, the pictures were shared with third parties.


Three of Zanchetta's vicar generals and two monsignors filed a formal complaint a year later with Swiss Archbishop Paul Emile Tscherrig, the papal nuncio to Argentina.

Those reports stated that Zanchetta would "watch seminarians in their rooms at night with a flashlight, ask for massages, go into their rooms and sit on their beds, encourage them to drink alcoholic beverages, and had certain preferences for those who were more graceful [looking]."

The Vatican had been denying that the Pope had any knowledge of this as late as January, stating that they only learned of the allegations in 2018; however, Fr. Juan José Manzano, Zanchetta's former vicar general, has contradicted this denial by telling the AP that he reported Zanchetta to the Vatican in 2015 and 2017.

"In 2015, we just sent a 'digital support' with selfie photos of the previous bishop [Zanchetta] in obscene or out of place behavior that seemed inappropriate and dangerous," Manzano said. "It was an alarm that we made to the Holy See via some friendly bishops."

"The nunciature didn't intervene directly," he continued, "but the Holy Father summoned Zanchetta and he justified himself saying that his cellphone had been hacked, and that there were people who were out to damage the image of the Pope."

Church Militant covered this papal cover-up in January, and Michael Voris discussed it when covering the summit on clerical sex abuse in February.

After Zanchetta met Francis in 2015, the Pope permitted Zanchetta to continue as bishop of Orán for another two years. Then, in 2017, as mainstream media began covering the story, Zanchetta suddenly resigned as the bishop of Orán, disappearing for months.

He reappeared in Rome as an "assessor" — a position Francis seems to have invented — for the Administration of the Patrimony of the Apostolic See (APSA), the Vatican office that oversees millions of dollars in Church real estate.

While many faithful Catholics think the hierarchy from the very top cannot be trusted to police themselves on clerical sex abuse (and other matters), secular law enforcement stepping in to handle the policing in Argentina, the United States and elsewhere is on the rise.

Nancy Pelosi says she wants to see President Trump ‘in prison’

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said she would like to see President Trump “in prison” during a contentious meeting with senior Democrats over whether to launch impeachment proceedings, a report said.

Pelosi was speaking with House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler at the meeting with Dems when the two clashed over whether to allow Nadler’s committee to start an impeachment inquiry, according to Politico.

“I don’t want to see him impeached, I want to see him in prison,” Pelosi said, according to the paper.

U.S., Mexico Reach Deal to Avoid Tariffs

President Trump's tariffs against Mexico have been "indefinitely suspended," he was proud to report on Friday night.

According to the new agreement Mexico will be deploying national guard troops throughout the country and to the border and will be "taking decisive action to dismantle human smuggling and trafficking organizations as well as their illicit financial and transportation networks. The two countries will also reportedly be working closely to follow Migrant Protection Protocols.

This means that those crossing the U.S. Southern Border to seek asylum will be rapidly returned to Mexico where they may await the adjudication of their asylum claims. Mexico will also offer jobs, healthcare and education according to its principles.

international network for influencing politics and public opinion, showed his satisfaction with the ruling Pope on Twitter. In the past there were already direct connections. Above all, the bond is an amazingly similar agenda.

George Soros, though a currency speculator, is among the most influential people in the world. This is because he uses his billions of assets to influence politics and public opinion directly, and internationally. For this purpose, he built up an organizational network, which in turn finances and directs a network of NGOs. At the heart of the network is the endowment of the Open Society Foundations. The control center is ultimately Soros himself. This allows him to a more rapid setting of the agenda in parliaments, governments, political parties or organizations. Soros is the first, truly global, political body that basically consists of only his person and money. He buys the desired opinion.

Since Pope Francis was elected, his influence reaches into the Vatican, which was previously closed to him. Unlike his predecessors, Francis shows, though the pope of the "option for the poor" has little fear of contacting major oligarchs. It is unclear to what extent Pope Francis is aware of the influence of Soros. One should, however, have no illusions in this regard.

During the Pope's visit to the United States in September 2015, Soros was one of the main sponsors of the Pope's journey. With 650,000 dollars, he financed the visit to the left US President Barack Obama, whose successor Donald Trump Francis avoids on the other hand. One of the "highlights" of the visit to the US was the encounter with an aberrosexual student of Jorge Mario Bergoglio and his partner. It came to a scandal because the then Apostolic Nuncio in the US, Msgr. Carlo Maria Viganò, at the request of the US bishops also invited the county official Kim Davis in the Nunciature, who engaged a conscientious objection to the legalization of "gay marriage” and was even jailed for it. Her presence, which at first was hushed up and then denied by the Vatican, disrupted the papal idyll of rapprochement with Obama and the left-liberal mainstream.

The Soros financing became known later, as in the course of the presidential election campaign in 2016 corresponding evidence was revealed significantly on WikiLeaks. The contact with Soros came about through the Honduran cardinal and Pope confidant, Oscar Rodriguez Maradiaga, who is also accused of having a criticized affinity for money elsewhere in Honduras.

There has never been a personal meeting between Pope Francis and George Soros. This should be due mainly to political wisdom. When it came to a meeting with Bill Gates, another major oligarch who is also sociopolitically active and like Soros, is himself one of the main sponsors of abortion and aberrosexualization, there was a rebellion of African bishops, so that the private audience was canceled again.

Many Catholics observe with astonishment and horror the substantive agreement on numerous topics between the course, which Pope Francis of the Catholic Church decreed and the political agenda of
George Soros. This applies above all to unrestricted mass migration, climate hysteria and antinatalism. Francis is the most important global voice for a "right" to unrestricted migration and the associated dissolution of state borders and state sovereignty. He is next to Greta Thirnberg the most influential, moral voice for the increasingly hysterical climate story of an allegedly man-made climate change and the delusion that man can direct the climate by governmental influence. After all, it is Francis who largely neutralized the Church in terms of abortion and contraception. While the Pope and the Church, among his predecessors, were the most important voice for a culture of life that actively resisted at all levels of the culture of death, Francis did not formally change the course, but reduced it to a minimum, so that the Church offered no real opposition to the Neo-Malthusians and their abortion agenda, but also the Homo-Agenda at the highest level (see also: Pope rewards Homosexual Activism and Abortion).

The balance is sobering. Even though there was no meeting between Bergoglio and Soros, there is a fundamental harmony with central themes of the Soros agenda.

A shocking example of this is Pope Francis’ praise for former EU Commissioner Emma Bonino. Bonino has been one of the most radical abortion, euthanasia, drug liberalization and, more recently, mass migration lobbyists since the 1970s. She sits on the board of the Open Society Foundations and is one of the closest confidants of George Soros. Faithful Catholics were horrified, but Pope Francis praised Bonino as “very great.”

George Soros recently confirmed his closeness to Bergoglio recently by praise for the Catholic Church leader, albeit for a supposedly "unsuspicious" reason. The praise still speaks for itself.

Pope Francis apologized during his visit to Romania last Sunday on behalf of the Catholic Church to the Roma, a Gypsy people (from Greek ἀτσίγγανος, atsínganos), for their "historically bad treatment". Romania and Moldova which is also part of the Romanian-speaking region, together with Bulgaria, Macedonia and Slovakia have the world's highest Gypsy population. The Danube Principality Wallachia, now part of Romania, has belonged since the late Middle Ages to the core settlement area, since it became from 1395 an Ottoman dependency, which lasted until 1878. The appearance of Gypsies in Europe took place parallel to the military advance of the Ottomans in the Balkans.

Exact information about their numerical strength does not exist. Over the past hundred years, however, their share of the population of Romania and Moldova and those neighboring countries is likely to have increased tenfold due to favorable conditions.

On June 3, George Soros was pleased with the Pope’s apology on Twitter:


"Pope Francis sent an important message when he asked for forgiveness for the discrimination, marginalization and maltreatment of the Roma."

Already last April 8, Soros called the Roma "the most discriminated and oppressed minority in Europe,” he wrote:


"I've made it my mission to help them."

Soros’ Open Society Foundation describes itself as the world's "largest private donor of Roma affairs". The Foundation estimates the number of Roma in Europe in a video in which Soros himself appears at 12 million. This number was mentioned in 2011 by the Council of Europe, but is no more certain than other information. In the 1980s, as today, numerous various estimates were mentioned, but only in the order of 1.9 to 5.6 million.

The Soros commitment to Roma and Sinti can only be speculated. In the context of his migration agenda, it is noticeable that the Gypsies from India, as the European name was, until political correctness began to take on the role of language police, historically show a marked demarcation from neighboring peoples and a strongly nomadic character. These elements show themselves to be in common with the Jews, and they are the only two not truly settled peoples of Europe. Soros is a Jew, though it does not matter in concrete terms, whether he is a believer or not, because it is not a question of religion.

Mass migration through dissolution of state borders and state sovereignty equates to the attempt by Soros and others to take up these specific identities and to impose them on the European peoples and the states and legal systems that they have formed throughout history.

There's A Russian TV Version Of 'Chernobyl' On The Way Which Blames It On The CIA

That absolutely terrifying bit where the 'bio-robots' clear graphite from the roof. Jared Harris' enormous glasses, which seem to get bigger from scene to scene. On top of that, Stellan Skarsgård does some career-best looking into the middle distance, and if you've seen Mamma Mia you'll know that he really had to go some to top that.


Except not everyone's entirely happy with it. The extremely dim view that the series takes of the Soviet state's secrecy and denial of reality hasn't gone down that well with some in Russia - the Moscow Times' Ilya Shepelin has reported that pro-Kremlin media voices have derided the accuracy of the series, with R0ssia 24 anchor Stanislav Natanzon saying that "the only things missing are the bears and accordions".

So, to redress the balance, a Russian-made series retelling the story of Chernobyl is in production. This one, though, will follow KGB operatives as they attempt to get hold of a CIA operative who works at the Chernobyl power plant and who's suspected of attempting to sabotage the reactor core. It's a conspiracy theory, basically.

It might feel a bit reds-under-the-bed, but it does appear to be true. The Hollywood Reporter says that the series is being funded in part by the Russian culture ministry to the tune of 30 million rubles (£362,000), and is being shown on natural gas behemoth Gazprom's free-to-air channel NTV, which is known for generally giving two thumbs up to the Kremlin through its programming.

Putin's Media Struggles to Deal With HBO's Chernobyl


The fact that an American, not a Russian, TV channel told the story about our own heroes is a source of shame for pro-Kremlin media.


It seems every major Russian media outlet had to chime in about the “Chernobyl” TV series by HBO. Although the foreign program airs only online to paying viewers, the show has become something of a national sensation in Russia where the pro-Kremlin media have launched a mini-crusade against it.

Komsomolskaya Pravda (KP), Russia’s most popular newspaper, raised suspicions that competitors of state-atomic center Rosatom were using the series to tarnish this country’s image as a nuclear power.

Argumenty i Fakty...dismissed the show as “a caricature and not the truth.”

“The only things missing are the bears and accordions!” quipped Stanislav Natanzon, lead anchor of Rossia 24, one of the country’s main news channels.

"The scientist Valery Legasov not only led the government’s response to the Chernobyl disaster, he was also openly critical of its management of the nuclear industry."

In his show, the Rossia 24 anchor pointed out a major article published by KP, arguing that the HBO series was wrong to suggest that the Soviet authorities were afraid to admit their mistakes and that this reluctance led to terrible consequences.

Legasov’s article in the country’s leading newspaper, the anchor says, proves this was not the case, undermining one of the main theses of the show.

Unfortunately, however, state-controlled media often tries unmask one set of lies with the help of another. It is true that Legasov did write such an article for KP in 1987, but the editors didn’t like it and refused to publish the piece.

Legasov was at wit's end by this time: the Academy of Sciences had rejected his ideas and Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev had refused to award him the honorary title of Hero of Socialist Labor (although he did bestow it upon others who worked with Legasov in Chernobyl).

Following a meeting at the Academy of Sciences, Legasov hung himself. Two weeks after his death, KP reversed its decision and published Legasov’s article in 1988.

“Chernobyl” is relatively historically accurate and the filmmakers devote a great deal of attention to detail. Nonetheless, I expect that the airing of the final installment will spur a fresh wave of unfounded criticism.

Ultra pro-Soviet columnist Anatoly Vasserman offered what is probably the most candid of all the reviews leveled against the show: “If Anglo-Saxons film something about Russians,” he said, “it definitely will not correspond to the truth.”

In so saying, he spared himself the need to look for hidden storm windows or other historical inaccuracies. “Those people always get it wrong. ‘Nuff said.”

In fact, it has been a long time since even Russians made uncontroversial historical films about Russia. Against this backdrop, HBO’s “Chernobyl” does not look too bad. So why were the pro-Kremlin media opposed to it from the start?


It is an ordinary case of jealous resentment: “Only we have the right to talk about our history,” they say, “so don’t butt in.” However, the reception given “Chernobyl” says more about the critics than it does about the series.

Thanks to the HBO series, many of my peers now have a different view of the Chernobyl accident. Whereas most disaster films culminate with the central catastrophe, only the first episode in this series is devoted to the Chernobyl reactor explosion.

All the subsequent episodes focus on the harrowing and self-sacrificing struggle that the Soviet people waged against the consequences of the explosion. And it was these people who saved Europe — at the cost of their own lives and health.

Watching this series provides at least a passing understanding of the hardships they endured in the process.

Russia, however, does not honor these individuals as heroes who saved Europe.

Just go to the official Kremlin website to see how often President Vladimir Putin mentions the Chernobyl survivors — many of whom are still alive and suffer from a variety of radiation-induced illnesses.

Putin’s sole references to them occur on the major anniversaries of the Chernobyl accident. He last mentioned them in 2016, on the 30th anniversary of the disaster, and again in 2011, on the 25th anniversary.

As odd as it might sound, the clean-up effort after the Chernobyl accident was almost as important to Europe as the Allied victory in World War II.

What began as a day of solemnity and sorrow, Victory Day has since turned into a noisy holiday with military parades.

Russia will never celebrate the Chernobyl events as a holiday — and if leaders cannot turn it into a fete of national pride and greatness, then better to forget that it ever happened at all.

Still, an attempt will be made to put an entirely different spin on those events. Russia’s NTV channel has already announced that it is shooting its own “Chernobyl” series based on the premise that the CIA sent an agent to the Chernobyl zone to carry out acts of sabotage.

Russia, however, does not honor these individuals as heroes who saved Europe.

As justification for the story, the film’s director, Alexei Muradov, cited fringe conspiracy theorists: “One theory holds that Americans had infiltrated the Chernobyl nuclear power plant and many historians do not deny that, on the day of the explosion, an agent of the enemy’s intelligence services was present at the station.”

In place of a moving tribute to the heroic men and women who sacrificed everything to overcome the fallout from the Chernobyl disaster, Moscow gives us a thrilling detective film based on a conspiracy theory in which a KGB officer struggles to thwart American spies — the new villains in this national tragedy.

The fact that an American, not a Russian, TV channel tells us about our own heroes is a source of shame that the pro-Kremlin media apparently cannot live down. And this is the real reason they find fault with HBO’s “Chernobyl” series.

Chernobyl mini series was excellent . The HBO series was riveting.One of the best pictures ever painted of what happens when an elite control a nation. Even the dark tones and dreary community was realistic of the Soviet Union. The truth is always second to the needs of the state..

A gut-wrenching series, unflinching in its portrayal of the political horrors of the Soviet Union.

There were a lot of brave Russians, Belorussians, and Ukrainians involved, but they were ordinary soldiers, firefighters and local people. The leftist political leadership was universally reprehensible or insane.

THE PRESIDENT: President Macron, Mrs. Macron, and the people of France; to the First Lady of the United States and members of the United States Congress; to distinguished guests, veterans, and my fellow Americans:

We are gathered here on Freedom’s Altar. On these shores, on these bluffs, on this day 75 years ago, 10,000 men shed their blood, and thousands sacrificed their lives, for their brothers, for their countries, and for the survival of liberty.

Today, we remember those who fell, and we honor all who fought right here in Normandy. They won back this ground for civilization.

To more than 170 veterans of the Second World War who join us today: You are among the very greatest Americans who will ever live. You’re the pride of our nation. You are the glory of our republic. And we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. (Applause.)

Here with you are over 60 veterans who landed on D-Day. Our debt to you is everlasting. Today, we express our undying gratitude.

When you were young, these men enlisted their lives in a Great Crusade — one of the greatest of all times. Their mission is the story of an epic battle and the ferocious, eternal struggle between good and evil.

On the 6th of June, 1944, they joined a liberation force of awesome power and breathtaking scale. After months of planning, the Allies had chosen this ancient coastline to mount their campaign to vanquish the wicked tyranny of the Nazi empire from the face of the Earth.

The battle began in the skies above us. In those first tense midnight hours, 1,000 aircraft roared overhead with 17,000 Allied airborne troops preparing to leap into the darkness beyond these trees.

Then came dawn. The enemy who had occupied these heights saw the largest naval armada in the history of the world. Just a few miles offshore were 7,000 vessels bearing 130,000 warriors. They were the citizens of free and independent nations, united by their duty to their compatriots and to millions yet unborn.

There were the British, whose nobility and fortitude saw them through the worst of Dunkirk and the London Blitz. The full violence of Nazi fury was no match for the full grandeur of British pride. Thank you. (Applause.)

There were the Canadians, whose robust sense of honor and loyalty compelled them to take up arms alongside Britain from the very, very beginning.

There were the fighting Poles, the tough Norwegians, and the intrepid Aussies. There were the gallant French commandos, soon to be met by thousands of their brave countrymen ready to write a new chapter in the long history of French valor. (Applause.)

And, finally, there were the Americans. They came from the farms of a vast heartland, the streets of glowing cities, and the forges of mighty industrial towns. Before the war, many had never ventured beyond their own community. Now they had come to offer their lives half a world from home.

This beach, codenamed Omaha, was defended by the Nazis with monstrous firepower, thousands and thousands of mines and spikes driven into the sand, so deeply. It was here that tens of thousands of the Americans came.

The GIs who boarded the landing craft that morning knew that they carried on their shoulders not just the pack of a soldier, but the fate of the world. Colonel George Taylor, whose 16th Infantry Regiment would join in the first wave, was asked: What would happen if the Germans stopped right then and there, cold on the beach — just stopped them? What would happen? This great American replied: “Why, the 18th Infantry is coming in right behind us. The 26th Infantry will come on too. Then there is the 2nd Infantry Division already afloat. And the 9th Division. And the 2nd Armored. And the 3rd Armored. And all the rest. Maybe the 16th won’t make it, but someone will.”

One of those men in Taylor’s 16th Regiment was Army medic Ray Lambert. Ray was only 23, but he had already earned three Purple Hearts and two Silver Stars fighting in North Africa and Sicily, where he and his brother Bill, no longer with us, served side by side.

In the early morning hours, the two brothers stood together on the deck of the USS Henrico, before boarding two separate Higgins landing craft. “If I don’t make it,” Bill said, “please, please take care of my family.” Ray asked his brother to do the same.

Of the 31 men on Ray’s landing craft, only Ray and 6 others made it to the beach. There were only a few of them left. They came to the sector right here below us. “Easy Red” it was called. Again and again, Ray ran back into the water. He dragged out one man after another. He was shot through the arm. His leg was ripped open by shrapnel. His back was broken. He nearly drowned.

He had been on the beach for hours, bleeding and saving lives, when he finally lost consciousness. He woke up the next day on a cot beside another badly wounded soldier. He looked over and saw his brother Bill. They made it. They made it. They made it.

At 98 years old, Ray is here with us today, with his fourth Purple Heart and his third Silver Star from Omaha. (Applause.) Ray, the free world salutes you. (Applause.) Thank you, Ray. (Applause.)

Nearly two hours in, unrelenting fire from these bluffs kept the Americans pinned down on the sand now red with our heroes’ blood. Then, just a few hundred yards from where I’m standing, a breakthrough came. The battle turned, and with it, history.

Down on the beach, Captain Joe Dawson, the son of a Texas preacher, led Company G through a minefield to a natural fold in the hillside, still here. Just beyond this path to my right, Captain Dawson snuck beneath an enemy machine gun perch and tossed his grenades. Soon, American troops were charging up “Dawson’s Draw.” What a job he did. What bravery he showed.

Lieutenant Spalding and the men from Company E moved on to crush the enemy strongpoint on the far side of this cemetery, and stop the slaughter on the beach below. Countless more Americans poured out across this ground all over the countryside. They joined fellow American warriors from Utah beach, and Allies from Juno, Sword, and Gold, along with the airborne and the French patriots.

Private First Class Russell Pickett, of the 29th Division’s famed 116th Infantry Regiment, had been wounded in the first wave that landed on Omaha Beach. At a hospital in England, Private Pickett vowed to return to battle. “I’m going to return,” he said. “I’m going to return.”

Six days after D-Day, he rejoined his company. Two thirds had been killed already; many had been wounded, within 15 minutes of the invasion. They’d lost 19 just from small town of Bedford, Virginia, alone. Before long, a grenade left Private Pickett again gravely wounded. So badly wounded. Again, he chose to return. He didn’t care; he had to be here.

He was then wounded a third time, and laid unconscious for 12 days. They thought he was gone. They thought he had no chance. Russell Pickett is the last known survivor of the legendary Company A. And, today, believe it or not, he has returned once more to these shores to be with his comrades. Private Pickett, you honor us all with your presence. (Applause.) Tough guy. (Laughter.)

By the fourth week of August, Paris was liberated. (Applause.) Some who landed here pushed all the way to the center of Germany. Some threw open the gates of Nazi concentration camps to liberate Jews who had suffered the bottomless horrors of the Holocaust. And some warriors fell on other fields of battle, returning to rest on this soil for eternity.

Before this place was consecrated to history, the land was owned by a French farmer, a member of the French resistance. These were great people. These were strong and tough people. His terrified wife waited out D-Day in a nearby house, holding tight to their little baby girl. The next day, a soldier appeared. “I’m an American,” he said. “I’m here to help.” The French woman was overcome with emotion and cried. Days later, she laid flowers on fresh American graves.

Today, her granddaughter, Stefanie, serves as a guide at this cemetery. This week, Stefanie led 92-year-old Marian Wynn of California to see the grave of her brother Don for the very first time.

Marian and Stefanie are both with us today. And we thank you for keeping alive the memories of our precious heroes. Thank you. (Applause.)

9,388 young Americans rest beneath the white crosses and Stars of David arrayed on these beautiful grounds. Each one has been adopted by a French family that thinks of him as their own. They come from all over France to look after our boys. They kneel. They cry. They pray. They place flowers. And they never forget. Today, America embraces the French people and thanks you for honoring our beloved dead. Thank you. (Applause.) Thank you. Thank you.

To all of our friends and partners: Our cherished alliance was forged in the heat of battle, tested in the trials of war, and proven in the blessings of peace. Our bond is unbreakable.

From across the Earth, Americans are drawn to this place as though it were a part of our very soul. We come not only because of what they did here. We come because of who they were.

They were young men with their entire lives before them. They were husbands who said goodbye to their young brides and took their duty as their fate. They were fathers who would never meet their infant sons and daughters because they had a job to do. And with God as their witness, they were going to get it done. They came wave after wave, without question, without hesitation, and without complaint.

More powerful than the strength of American arms was the strength of American hearts.

These men ran through the fires of hell moved by a force no weapon could destroy: the fierce patriotism of a free, proud, and sovereign people. (Applause.) They battled not for control and domination, but for liberty, democracy, and self-rule.

They pressed on for love in home and country — the Main Streets, the schoolyards, the churches and neighbors, the families and communities that gave us men such as these.

They were sustained by the confidence that America can do anything because we are a noble nation, with a virtuous people, praying to a righteous God.

The exceptional might came from a truly exceptional spirit. The abundance of courage came from an abundance of faith. The great deeds of an Army came from the great depths of their love.

As they confronted their fate, the Americans and the Allies placed themselves into the palm of God’s hand.

The men behind me will tell you that they are just the lucky ones. As one of them recently put it, “All the heroes are buried here.” But we know what these men did. We knew how brave they were. They came here and saved freedom, and then, they went home and showed us all what freedom is all about.

The American sons and daughters who saw us to victory were no less extraordinary in peace. They built families. They built industries. They built a national culture that inspired the entire world. In the decades that followed, America defeated communism, secured civil rights, revolutionized science, launched a man to the moon, and then kept on pushing to new frontiers. And, today, America is stronger than ever before. (Applause.)

Seven decades ago, the warriors of D-Day fought a sinister enemy who spoke of a thousand-year empire. In defeating that evil, they left a legacy that will last not only for a thousand years, but for all time — for as long as the soul knows of duty and honor; for as long as freedom keeps its hold on the human heart.

To the men who sit behind me, and to the boys who rest in the field before me, your example will never, ever grow old. (Applause.) Your legend will never tire. Your spirit — brave, unyielding, and true — will never die.

The blood that they spilled, the tears that they shed, the lives that they gave, the sacrifice that they made, did not just win a battle. It did not just win a war. Those who fought here won a future for our nation. They won the survival of our civilization. And they showed us the way to love, cherish, and defend our way of life for many centuries to come.

Today, as we stand together upon this sacred Earth, we pledge that our nations will forever be strong and united. We will forever be together. Our people will forever be bold. Our hearts will forever be loyal. And our children, and their children, will forever and always be free.

President Donald Trump delivered a moving address during the 75th-anniversary commemoration of D-Day in Normandy, France, on Thursday.

The president took the stage shortly after French President Emmanuel Macron and addressed the crowd, which included 60 American veterans who were present on D-Day when the American forces stormed the beaches of Normandy. “You are the pride of our nation, you are the glory of the republic, and we thank you from the bottom of our heart,” Trump said to applause.

The president honored the troops from other countries before asserting, “And finally, there were the Americans.”

“They came from the farms of a vast heartland, the streets of glowing cities and the forges of mighty industrial towns. Before the war, many had never ventured beyond their own community. Now, they had come to offer their lives halfway across the world,” he said.

The president declared that the soldiers who came to Normandy that day “knew that they were carrying on their shoulders not just the pack of a soldier, the but the fate of the world.”

Trump took time to honor several of the American veterans present by name, including former Army medic Arnold Raymond “Ray” Lambert, who is now 98 years old.

Lambert was one of just six men who survived from his landing craft, was shot in the arm, had his leg ripped open by shrapnel, and suffered a broken back, but he continued to attempt to save others on the beach and in the water for hours.

“Ray, the free world salutes you,” Trump said as the crowd gave Lambert a standing ovation.

The president paused his speech at that point to walk over to Lambert and shake his hand. Lambert responded by tipping his “D-Day veteran” hat to the president, according to the White House print pool.

The crowd continued to cheer for Lambert, and the president solemnly said, “Thank you, Ray.”

As dawn broke on June 6, 1944, German soldiers defending the French coast at Normandy beheld an awe-inspiring sight—the largest amphibious invasion force in history massed in the waters of the English Channel. The long-awaited invasion of northwest Europe was underway.

The giant invasion had taken years to organize. Hundreds of thousands of men and millions of tons of weapons and equipment were transported across the Atlantic Ocean to Britain in advance of the operation. The invasion force consisted chiefly of Americans, Britons, and Canadians. But troops of the Free French and many other nations also participated.

The invasion was the culmination of Franklin Roosevelt’s Grand Strategy, especially his decision to pursue a “Germany First” policy and his insistence—in the face of Churchill’s preference for a peripheral strategy—that the operation go forward in 1944.

The Normandy invasion established a solid “Second Front” in Europe. Its success left Hitler’s armies trapped in a vise, fighting the Red Army in the East and an expanding Anglo-American-Canadian force in the West.

During the tense early hours of the invasion, FDR monitored reports from the front. That evening, he delivered a statement to the American people. It took the form of a prayer, which he read on national radio.





Franklin D. Roosevelt’s D-Day Prayer

On the night of June 6, 1944, President Roosevelt went on national radio to address the nation for the first time about the Normandy invasion. His speech took the form of a prayer.

The date and timing of the Normandy invasion had been top secret. During a national radio broadcast on June 5 about the Allied liberation of Rome, President Roosevelt made no mention of the Normandy operation, already underway at that time.

When he spoke to the country on June 6, the President felt the need to explain his earlier silence. Shortly before he went on the air, he added several handwritten lines to the opening of his speech that addressed that point. They read: "Last night, when I spoke to you about the fall of Rome, I knew at that moment that troops of the United States and our allies were crossing the Channel in another and greater operation. It has come to pass with success thus far."

President Trump marked the D-Day anniversary by reading an excerpt from a prayer President Franklin Delano Roosevelt delivered to the nation by radio on the evening of June 6, 1944, in which he spoke to the country for the first time about the Normandy operation.


Text of Radio Address - Prayer on D-Day, June 6, 1944:

My fellow Americans: Last night, when I spoke with you about the fall of Rome, I knew at that moment that troops of the United States and our allies were crossing the Channel in another and greater operation. It has come to pass with success thus far.

And so, in this poignant hour, I ask you to join with me in prayer:

Almighty God: Our sons, pride of our Nation, this day have set upon a mighty endeavor, a struggle to preserve our Republic, our religion, and our civilization, and to set free a suffering humanity.

Lead them straight and true; give strength to their arms, stoutness to their hearts, steadfastness in their faith.

They will need Thy blessings. Their road will be long and hard. For the enemy is strong. He may hurl back our forces. Success may not come with rushing speed, but we shall return again and again; and we know that by Thy grace, and by the righteousness of our cause, our sons will triumph.

They will be sore tried, by night and by day, without rest-until the victory is won. The darkness will be rent by noise and flame. Men's souls will be shaken with the violences of war.

For these men are lately drawn from the ways of peace. They fight not for the lust of conquest. They fight to end conquest. They fight to liberate. They fight to let justice arise, and tolerance and good will among all Thy people. They yearn but for the end of battle, for their return to the haven of home.

Some will never return. Embrace these, Father, and receive them, Thy heroic servants, into Thy kingdom.

And for us at home -- fathers, mothers, children, wives, sisters, and brothers of brave men overseas -- whose thoughts and prayers are ever with them--help us, Almighty God, to rededicate ourselves in renewed faith in Thee in this hour of great sacrifice.

Many people have urged that I call the Nation into a single day of special prayer. But because the road is long and the desire is great, I ask that our people devote themselves in a continuance of prayer. As we rise to each new day, and again when each day is spent, let words of prayer be on our lips, invoking Thy help to our efforts.

Give us strength, too -- strength in our daily tasks, to redouble the contributions we make in the physical and the material support of our armed forces.

And let our hearts be stout, to wait out the long travail, to bear sorrows that may come, to impart our courage unto our sons wheresoever they may be.

And, O Lord, give us Faith. Give us Faith in Thee; Faith in our sons; Faith in each other; Faith in our united crusade. Let not the keenness of our spirit ever be dulled. Let not the impacts of temporary events, of temporal matters of but fleeting moment let not these deter us in our unconquerable purpose.

With Thy blessing, we shall prevail over the unholy forces of our enemy. Help us to conquer the apostles of greed and racial arrogancies. Lead us to the saving of our country, and with our sister Nations into a world unity that will spell a sure peace a peace invulnerable to the schemings of unworthy men. And a peace that will let all of men live in freedom, reaping the just rewards of their honest toil.

D-Day: A Turning Point in World War II

The D-Day invasion opened up the long-awaited Second Front against Hitler. The United States and its allies had launched the greatest amphibious invasion in history on the shores of France. Over 150,000 soldiers, sailors, and airmen stormed the beaches of Normandy beginning a campaign that would end with the unconditional surrender of Germany in May 1945. In August, a second Allied invasion force landed on France’s southern coast. Soon Paris was liberated, and by the fall, Allied armies were poised to cross the German border.

The meaning behind the "D" in D-Day has to do with military terminology.

On the morning of June 6, 1944, Allied forces staged an enormous assault on German positions on the beaches of Normandy, France. The invasion is often known by the famous nickname “D-Day,” yet few people know the origin of the term or what, if anything, the “D” stood for. Most argue it was merely a redundancy that also meant “day,” but others have proposed everything from “departure” to “decision” to “doomsday.”

According to the U.S. military, “D-Day” was an Army designation used to indicate the start date for specific field operations. In this case, the “D” in D-Day doesn’t actually stand for anything—it’s merely an alliterative placeholder used to designate a particular day on the calendar.


The military also employed the term “H-Hour” to refer to the time on D-Day when the action would begin. This shorthand helped prevent actual mission dates from falling into enemy hands, but it also proved handy when the start date for an attack was still undecided. Military planners also used a system of pluses and minuses to designate any time or day occurring before or after D-Day or H-Hour.

For example, D+2 meant two days after D-Day, while H-1 referred to one hour before H-Hour. These terms allowed units to effectively coordinate their operations ahead of time even when they didn’t know their actual start date, and they also provided flexibility in the event that the launch day shifted.


Use of these terms stretches back to World War I. One American field order from September 1918 noted, “The First Army will attack at H-Hour on D-Day with the object of forcing the evacuation of the St. Mihiel salient.” Other nations had their own shorthand. In World War I, the French used the code date “le Jour J,” while the British called their operation start days “Z-Day” and “Zero Hour.”

Pope Francis has changed the Lord's Prayer after criticising the English translation for implying that God - not Satan - leads people into temptation.

Francis approved an alteration the line 'lead us not into temptation' which now reads 'do not let us fall into temptation', which is closer to the French translation.

Speaking about the change back in 2017, Francis said: 'It's Satan who leads us into temptation, that's his department.'

The pontiff continued: 'I am the one who falls. It's not him pushing me into temptation to then see how I have fallen.

A father doesn't do that, a father helps you to get up immediately.'

The change comes after 16 years of research by Biblical scholars, and corrects what they believe was an error when the prayer was translated.

It is thought that Jesus originally spoke the prayer in Aramaic, before it was translated into Greek and other languages.

The English version of the prayer is derived from the Greek translation.

The Greek word in question, eisenenkes, is found in the original New Testament in Matthew 6:13.

Francis also approved changes to The Gloria from 'Peace on earth to people of good will' to 'Peace on Earth to people beloved by God.'

During the General Assembly of the Episcopal Conference of Italy, President Cardinal Gualtiero Bassetti announced the approval of a third edition of the Messale Romano in May, 'in the wake of the liturgical reform.'

The Bible has been edited many times over the years as errors were discovered with translating the ancient work.

Perhaps the most infamous version, Robert Barker’s King James Bible, published in 1611, omitted a key word from the seventh commandment.

In that edition the commandment read 'thou shalt commit adultery'. The correct version is, of course, 'thou shalt not commit adultery'.

No it is very clear and people need to understand this that the Holy Spirit (Who of course is God) led Jesus into the desert to undergo temptation by the devil. And Jesus is our Way.

God’s purpose with temptation is not to lead us to sin, but to strengthen us through our resisting temptation.
Nonetheless we pray not to be led into temptation .

Pope thinks he’s a better prayer composer than Jesus. It s “The Lord’s Prayer,” and not his to change. This arrogant putz should be removed from “office” and excommunicated along with the “cardinals” who voted for him. I guess it was that “fake white smoke” that did it.

Aramaic was a hodgepodge of languages adapted to allow dozens of dialects to have a simple language to convey simple things. It was not a written language.

The predominant written languages of the region were Greek, Hebrew, Roman Latin.

The Lord’s Prayer was written in Greek.

The word ‘do’ in the phrase ‘do not lead us’ is from the Old English and is more in the way of saying ‘make it’, ‘make it so’, or somehow act. The phrase ‘do not’ may connote ‘make it so that it is not’.

The King James Bible is the definitive translation as a work that spanned generations with detailed investigations by hundreds of the very best of Greek and Hebrew translation scholars. No expense was spared. The history of the KJB is enriching in itself. Many do not know that James VI of Scotland who became James I of England was immensely intelligent and wise. He lamented that he would have preferred to have been a scholar than king. He ordered and ensured that every word of the project was thoroughly researched including sending and receiving scholars to and from Greece, the Holy Lands, Asia Minor, everywhere the history required thorough research and investigation.

The Greek word eisphérō means "to bring" thus a literal translation would be "bring us not into temptation". The word "lead" would clearly be an acceptable alternative in translating into English, as it means the same thing in this context. The Pope is changing scripture into what he wants it to say rather than what it says.
