Our President and First Lady spoke to American service members on the USS Wasp, docked in Japan

In honor of Memorial Day, the President and First Lady spoke to American service members on the USS Wasp, docked in Japan. “Today, the unbreakable resolve of [our fallen] heroes lives on in every American who wears our great uniform,” the President said to a crowd of 1,000 American sailors and Marines.

“On behalf of all Americans, we thank you.”

Remarks by President Trump and the First Lady in Memorial Day Address to Troops Aboard the USS Wasp

THE FIRST LADY: It is wonderful to be with you today. This has been a very enjoyable and productive visit with the Japanese people. And we are thankful for the incredible hospitality that we have received.

Back in November, I visited the USS George H.W. Bush, one of our nation’s great aircraft carriers at work in the Atlantic Ocean. It is a privilege to once again join with you, our incredible sailors and Marines, on the USS Wasp at work, here in the Pacific Ocean.

Thank you for your service and sacrifice and all that you do on behalf of our country. May God bless you and your families.
I’d now like to introduce my husband, your Commander-in-Chief, the 45th President of the United States of America. Mr. President? (Applause.)

AUDIENCE: USA! USA! USA!

PRESIDENT TRUMP: What a group. What a group. This is a tough bunch of people, right? (Applause.) And that’s good. That’s very good.

And I want to thank you, Melania. You’ve been really the talk of Japan. They’re not covering me. I’m a little bit upset with her right now. (Laughter.) No, they love you in Japan, honey, and we appreciate it very much. She really works very hard. They love our First Lady, and they love our First Lady back home.

I want to just tell everyone before we even begin: At ease! At ease. Just relax. We have plenty of time. Plenty of time. We’re going to have a little fun. And I’m thrilled to be aboard the USS Wasp with the brave sailors and Marines, the Seventh Fleet. Special, special people. Thank you very much. Great job. Thank you. (Applause.)

And I have to wish you all a very Happy Memorial Day, right? Memorial Day — very special back home. And I always like to be back in the U.S., as you do, for that day. But we did a lot of great things for the last three days in Japan. So we’re working together. You’re working. I’m working. We’re all working together.

As President, I have no higher honor than serving as your Commander-in-Chief — and the extraordinary men and women of the American Armed Forces.

This has been a truly amazing and unforgettable visit to Japan. Melania and I are profoundly grateful to Their Majesties the new Emperor and Empress. I had the great honor of being their first state guests. That was a big honor for our country. We’re also deeply thankful to our cherished friends and treasured partners, Prime Minister and Mrs. Abe. Very, very great people. Our thanks as well to Ambassador Hagerty and his wife Chrissy. Thank you very much. Thank you, Ambassador. Thank you, Chrissy. Thank you very much. Great job you’re doing.

Today, we’re proud to be joined by the many outstanding military leaders. We have a lot. These are very incredible ones. I especially want to thank the Commanding Officer of USS Wasp, Captain Christopher Herr. (Applause.) They like you, Christopher. They like you a lot. That’s very good, Christopher. (Laughter.) And the Command Master Chief, Kevin Guy. (Applause.) Popular people. That’s great. Wow. Great leaders.

My thanks as well to Lieutenant General Kevin Schneider, Commander of the U.S. Forces Japan. Thank you, Kevin. (Applause.) Thank you.

Vice Admiral Phil Sawyer, Commander of the U.S. Seventh Fleet. (Applause.) And, you know, they’re all such good-looking people. You have all this media over here. They’re going to end up in Hollywood. They’re going to leave us. Some of them will be picked for Hollywood, right? And they won’t do it. They like this better — and I agree.

Rear Admiral Gregory Fenton, Commander of the United States Naval Force Japan. Thank you. (Applause.) Thank you, Gregory. Thank you. Great.

Rear Admiral James Pitts, Commander of the Submarine Group 7. (Applause.) And you know we’re doing a lot of big submarines right now. We’re building a lot of them. I’ll tell you, the best in the world. Not even a contest. Right? It’s really something. I just saw plans for one. But they’re no longer the little submarines that we think about. These are incredible machines, right? Thank you very much.

Brigadier General Todd Dozier, Deputy Commander of the 5th Air Force. Todd. Thank you, Todd. (Applause.)

Rear Admiral Fred Kacher, Commander of Task Force 76. Thank you very much. (Applause.) Thank you very much. Great. Great leaders.

Captain Jim McGovern, Commander of the Amphibious Squadron 11. And Captain Jeffrey Kim, Commander of Fleet Activities, right here. Thank you very much. (Applause.) Thank you. Great.
Together, these officers are leading the most fearsome group of American warriors this side of the Pacific. We have more than 1,000 sailors and Marines from the Seventh Fleet here today, including hundreds who serve on this impressive assault ship, USS Wasp. (Applause.)

Also joining us are sailors from the following ships: USS Shiloh. (Applause.) USS Chancellorsville. (Applause.) USS Mustin. (Applause.) USS Barry. (Applause.) You love those ships, don’t you? Huh? (Laughter.) USS McCampbell. (Applause.) USS Benford [Benfold]. (Applause.) Thank you, fellas. That’s great. Great pride.

Finally, I want to recognize our many shore-based commands here today, including large contingents from Navy Region Japan. Thank you very much. (Applause.) We like them. We like them. The Fleet Anti-Terrorism Security Team. (Applause.) The Naval Intelligence Operations Center. (Applause.) Fleet Logistics Center Yokosuka. (Applause.)

The Ship Repair Facility. I’ll bet you guys do a good job. Do they do a good jobs with the ships, right? (Laughter.) Repairing them. Huh? (Applause.)

So then, let me ask you a question. Catapult — right? The catapult system. Do you like electric or steam?

AUDIENCE MEMBERS: Steam!

AUDIENCE MEMBERS: Electric!

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Steam. Who said “electric”? There’s one guy back there. (Laughter.) Okay, I really need this information because, you know, we’re building carriers. We’re building one. They’re using an electric catapult and an electric elevator. Number one, I can’t imagine, in the case of battle — it must be very delicate, okay? And, you know, steam has only worked for about 65 years, perfectly.

And I won’t tell you this because it’s before my time by a little bit, but they have a $900 million cost overrun on this crazy electric catapult. I said, “What was wrong with steam?”

I would like to know — all of the folks that know exactly what I’m talking about, the catapult system — steam or electric?

Ready? Steam. (Applause.) Electric.

AUDIENCE MEMBERS: Yeah! (Laughter.)

PRESIDENT TRUMP: He works for the enemy. (Laughter.) He’s all right. We’ll — ooh, you might be in danger. I better be careful. (Laughter.)

No, we want to go with steam. You know, they’re always coming up with new ideas. They’re making planes so complex you can’t fly them. (Laughter.) You know that. No, it’s — I really mean it. They want to show next, next, next. And we all want innovation, but it’s too much.

But there’s never been anything like the steam catapults. And I went to the Gerald Ford, which is under construction now for a long time. They’re having a problem with their electric catapult. And I was talking to the catapult people, and they said “steam.” In the meantime, we’re spending all that money on electric, and nobody knows what it’s going to be like in bad conditions. You understand.

So I think I’m going to put an order. When we build a new aircraft carrier, we’re going to use steam. I’m going to just put out an order: We’re going to use steam. We don’t need — we don’t need that extra speed. You know, they were saying — one of the folks said, “No, the electric works faster. But, sir, we can only get the plane there every couple of minutes.” So, really, what they did was wrong.

And we make mistakes, but, generally speaking, we get it right. But when we make them, we have to correct it. So we’re going to put out an order: We want to use steam.

The military doctors and nurses from the U.S. Naval Hospital Yokosuka, and many more. (Applause.) So many people. So many great, great people.

Every Marine and sailor standing on USS Wasp is the face of American strength and power in the Pacific.

The Seventh Fleet is America’s largest forward-deployed naval fleet. Together, you are 70 ships and submarines strong, with 140 aircraft, and 40,000 of America’s finest sailors and Marines. Did you know that about yourselves? Not bad. It’s very impressive.

With us today is Marine Staff Sergeant Daniel Patterson. Where’s Daniel? Where’s Daniel? Get over here, Daniel. (Applause.) Tough-looking guy.

Every single generation of Staff Sergeant Patterson’s family has served in the United States military, all the way back to the Revolutionary War. But Staff Sergeant Patterson was the first to choose the Marines.

AUDIENCE: Oo-rah!

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Right? (Laughs.) After completing two tours of duty in Afghanistan, Staff Sergeant Patterson requested another overseas tour — this time wanted to go to Japan. He knows that America needs — and what they need is daring and mighty warriors in the Pacific, and he’s a daring and mighty warrior.

Staff Sergeant Patterson, today, you and your fellow Marines and sailors of the Seventh Fleet are confronting this region’s pressing security challenges with unmatched courage and valor. You know what’s going on. You know where we’re talking. You know what we’re talking about. We really appreciate your being here.

Daniel, I’m going to do something that you didn’t expect. Say a few words, Daniel. (Applause.)

STAFF SERGEANT PATTERSON: Well, it’s such an honor and a privilege to be here with you, Mr. President. And I definitely didn’t expect this. And it’s an honor and privilege to serve with my fellow sailors and Marines and drive our mission forward that General Smith and the Commodore and Colonel Brodie has kind of laid out for us. And we know why we’re here and we know what we — who we need to egress. Because if we don’t, we let ourselves just sleep on it for even a second, then we won’t be the ultimate power in the world.

So thank you very much and thank all of you. (Applause.)

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Good job, Daniel. He’ll be running for political office within two weeks. Look. (Laughter.) Daniel, great. Thank you very much. Great job.

Every day, the men and women of the Seventh Fleet live out their motto: “Ready Power for Peace.”

You face down terrorism and render aid in the wake of devastating natural disasters. And I’ve seen what you do. Incredible.

You proudly patrol the Yellow Sea, the Sea of Japan, the East China Sea, and the South China Sea. You defend your homeland and our allies against missile attack with our most advanced radar and weapons systems in the world. We have equipment, missiles, rockets, tanks, planes, ships. Nobody in the entire world can build them like we do. Nobody. It’s not even close. You know that better than anybody.

Here in the Pacific and around the globe, we want our armed forces to have the tools, resources, and equipment you need and that you deserve.

That’s why we have given our Seventh Fleet new, American-made, F-35B Marine fighter aircraft. Very stealthy. You know that, right? The enemy has a problem with it. You know what the problem is? They can’t see it. (Laughter.) Other than that, it’s a fair fight. (Laughter.) Just like my one, and this one right here. That just came out. Beautiful.

Last year, USS Wasp made history when it became the very first ship to deploy these cutting-edge aircraft. I want to congratulate you all. And you’re getting a lot of brand new ones. We’re getting brand new equipment.

You know, when I came two and a half years ago, we had planes that were so old they didn’t make parts for them anymore. You don’t have that anymore. You don’t have that. We’re getting all new beautiful equipment. We need it. We need it. Peace through strength, right?

In April, USS Wasp also became the first ship to deploy F-35Bs in the Balikatan Naval exercise with the Philippines and with Australia.

Later this year, the USS Wasp returns home. We will be sending the men and women of the Seventh Fleet our most formidable amphibious assault ship: USS America.

USS America will soon be sailing these Pacific waters, and I am pleased to say that she will also be carrying the most beautiful F-35Bs on her deck. Brand new. Brand new.

My administration is committed to ensuring that America’s military strength forever remains second to none.

Over the past two years, we have made historic investments in our military with $700 billion. Right, General? That’s billions, right? No more millions. Not when it comes to our military. It’s a little bit scary. With a “B.” Scary. You know, it used to be millions; now it’s billions. And that’s the way it has to be, because we have to protect our country and we have to protect our allies.

And last year, $716 billion. So, this year, we’re going up. And in a very short period of time, our military will be completely rebuilt and stronger, bigger, better than ever before. Won’t even be close. And we’re very close. And when I took over, we were very depleted. And you people knew that better than anybody. We were depleted. It’s the only word I can use to describe it. It was not a good situation. But we’re going to be very close. Right now, we’re very close. Very shortly, we’re going to be at a level the likes of which we’ve never been before.

This includes money for five new guided-missile destroyers, four new nuclear-powered fast-attack submarines. That’s the one you want? Okay. We got them. We’ve got four of them. You only wanted one; we got you four. And 163 brand new F-35 Joint Strike fighter jets.

As Prime Minister Abe and I discussed yesterday, Japan also plans to equip the Japanese Self-Defense Forces with 105 F-35 aircraft, which would make Japan’s F-35 fleet the largest of any U.S. ally. The U.S.-Japan alliance has never been stronger. The relationship between your President and the Prime Minister of Japan — he’s a great gentleman; great man — is a fantastic one.

This remarkable port is the only one in the world where we’re — American naval fleet and an allied naval fleet, headquartered side-by-side — a testament to the ironclad partnership between U.S. and Japanese forces.

Together, you are advancing freedom on the high seas, shielding our nation from dangerous weapons, and preserving the peace that generations of valiant American warriors gave their lives to secure.

One of those intrepid Americans was Private First Class John Schaeffer. Born and raised in Tower City, Pennsylvania, Private Schaeffer was a member of a group of U.S. Army Special Forces who fought in the Pacific during World War II under the legendary command of General Frank Merrill. Good General? Good General? Pretty good, right? That’s what they say. Are you better? Huh? (Laughs.) Just be as good.

Although Private Schaeffer sadly perished in the Battle of Burma, his deep love of country endures in someone very special with us today, his grandnephew, Senior Chief Petty Officer Daniel Schaeffer. Where’s Daniel? Should I get him up? (Applause.) And I want to thank you very much for the incredible job you’ve done. We picked a couple of people that are outstanding. Please say a couple of words.

SENIOR CHIEF PETTY OFFICER SCHAEFFER: Sure.

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Please.

SENIOR CHIEF PETTY OFFICER SCHAEFFER: Thank you, Mr. President. This is amazing to have recognized my family. But I know a lot of others have families that served as well.

Memorial Day is that time where we honor our fellow Americans who pay the ultimate sacrifice. So, you know, thank you for all my shipmates and fellow Marines that are out here today, it’s a great day. Thank you, Mr. President.

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Thank you very much. (Applause.)

Two great jobs. And that’s not easy. They don’t know they’re coming up. You didn’t know, did you, huh? You had no idea. And you both did it. They didn’t choke. We don’t like chokers, do we? We don’t like chokers. We don’t like chokers.

On this Memorial Day evening in the United States, Americans are concluding a sacred day of remembrance, reflection, and prayer. Citizens all across the country came together to decorate the graves of our fallen heroes and to honor their selfless acts of courage.

The citizens of our country are incredible. They love our country, and they love you. They love you. You have no idea how much they love you.

Down through history, from America’s earliest days, fearless Americans have said goodbye to their loved ones, gone off to war, and stared down our enemies, knowing that they may never, ever return. Memorial Day links every grateful American heart in eternal tribute to those brave souls who gave their last breath for our nation, from Concord to Gettysburg, from Midway to Mosul.

Today, the unbreakable resolve of these heroes lives on in every American who wears our great uniform. Each day that you serve on these rolling but beautiful seas, you honor their sacrifice, you carry on their righteous duty, and you continue their noble legacy.

Our republic endures because of brave men and women who are willing to lay down their lives to defend us all. Our freedom is earned through the blood, and sweat, and toil, and sacrifice of great American patriots just like you.

As we honor America’s fallen warriors, we pledge our unwavering devotion to all of those who serve our nation in uniform.

Throughout this region — from Yokosuka, to Guam, to Singapore, to Okinawa, to Busan — the Seventh Fleet is holding the line and defending the peace.

Among the sailors and Marines the USS WASP, you serve as warfare officers, naval aviators, Marine riflemen, air-crewmen, corpsmen, machinist mates, avionics tech —

AUDIENCE: Ooh!

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Go ahead. You can do it. (Laughter.) Ordnance technicians. (Applause.) Okay. (Laughter.) Where are the avionics guys? (Applause.) And gals. Huh? Right there? Good. That’s complicated business, right? Got to be pretty good. Cooks, fire control men and women, intelligence specialists.

You are the strongest, toughest, best, and bravest. Do you agree with that?

AUDIENCE: Yeah!

PRESIDENT TRUMP: You better. You are the ones keep going and striving, and keeping America safe, and strong, and proud, and free.

You defend our freedom, our families, and you defend our great American flag. (Applause.)

You show the world the force of American might and American heart. And you prove, across these perilous waters and far beyond, that there is no match on Earth for the awesome power and glory of the American Navy and the United States Marines. (Applause.)

To the men and women of America’s Seventh Fleet: The First Lady and I have been deeply honored to be with you all today. On behalf of all Americans, we thank you, we salute you, we honor you, we cherish you, and we stand with you now and forever.

Thank you to the proud sailors and Marines of USS Wasp. (Applause.)

God bless you. God bless our military. And God bless the United States of America. Thank you very much. (Applause.)

President Trump Attends the Sumo Wrestling Cultural Program

President Trump attended a sumo tournament in Tokyo on Sunday, watching the action from a specially prepared seat near the ring, and presented an American-made trophy to the victor.

He climbed into the raised ring to present the newly made trophy, informally dubbed the "Trump Cup," to the winne .

"In honor of your outstanding achievement as sumo grand champion, I hereby award you the United States President's Cup," Trump said before handing a certificate to Asanoyama .

The president, wearing black slippers instead of leather shoes, took the ring via a staircase instead of using the steps cut into the ring's clay, bowed slightly and smiled to the crowd. He lifted the 60 pound trophy with some help, and handed it to the newly-crowned champion.

Are Catholic beliefs and practices biblical?

Are Catholic beliefs and practices biblical?

Question: "Are Catholic beliefs and practices biblical?"

Answer: The issue concerning any church and its practices should be “Is this biblical?” If a teaching is Biblical (taken in context), it should be embraced. If it is not, it should be rejected. God is more interested in whether a church is doing His will and obeying His Word than whether it can trace a line of succession back to Jesus’ apostles. Jesus was very concerned about abandoning the Word of God to follow the traditions of men (Mark 7:7). Traditions are not inherently invalid…there are some good and valuable traditions. Again, the issue must be whether a doctrine, practice, or tradition is Biblical. How then does the Roman Catholic Church compare with the teachings of the Word of God?

Salvation: The Roman Catholic Church teaches that salvation is by baptismal regeneration and is maintained through the Catholic sacraments unless a willful act of sin is committed that breaks the state of sanctifying grace. The Bible teaches that we are saved by grace which is received through simple faith (Ephesians 2:8-9), and that good works are the result of a change of the heart wrought in salvation (Ephesians 2:10; 2 Corinthians 5:17) and the fruit of that new life in Christ (John 15).

Assurance of salvation: The Roman Catholic Church teaches that salvation cannot be guaranteed or assured. 1 John 5:13 states that the letter of 1 John was written for the purpose of assuring believers of the CERTAINTY of their salvation.

Good Works: The Roman Catholic Church states that Christians are saved by meritorious works (beginning with baptism) and that salvation is maintained by good works (receiving the sacraments, confession of sin to a priest, etc.) The Bible states that Christians are saved by grace through faith, totally apart from works (Titus 3:5; Ephesians 2:8-9; Galatians 3:10-11; Romans 3:19-24).

Baptism:In the New Testament baptism is ALWAYS practiced AFTER saving faith in Christ. Baptism is not the means of salvation; it is faith in the Gospel that saves (1 Corinthians 1:14-18; Romans 10:13-17). The Roman Catholic Church teaches baptismal regeneration of infants, a practice never found in Scripture. The only possible hint of infant baptism in the Bible that the Roman Catholic Church can point to is that the whole household of the Philippian jailer was baptized in Acts 16:33. However, the context nowhere mentions infants. Acts 16:31 declares that salvation is by faith. Paul spoke to all of the household in verse 32, and the whole household believed (verse 34). This passage only supports the baptism of those who have already believed, not of infants.

Prayer: The Roman Catholic Church teaches Catholics to not only pray to God, but also to petition Mary and the saints for their prayers. Contrary to this, we are taught in Scripture to only pray to God (Matthew 6:9; Luke 18:1-7).

Priesthood: The Roman Catholic Church teaches that there is a distinction between the clergy and the “lay people,” whereas the New Testament teaches the priesthood of all believers (1 Peter 2:9).

Sacraments: The Roman Catholic Church teaches that a believer is infused with grace upon reception of the sacraments. Such teaching is nowhere found in Scripture.

Confession: The Roman Catholic Church teaches that unless a believer is hindered, the only way to receive the forgiveness of sins is by confessing them to a priest. Contrary to this, Scripture teaches that confession of sins is to be made to God (1 John 1:9).

Mary: The Roman Catholic Church teaches, among other things, that Mary is the Queen of Heaven, a perpetual virgin, and the co-redemptress who ascended into heaven. In Scripture, she is portrayed as an obedient, believing servant of God, who became the mother of Jesus. None of the other attributes mentioned by the Roman Catholic Church have any basis in the Bible. The idea of Mary being the co-redemptress and another mediator between God and man is not only extra-biblical (found only outside of Scripture), but is also unbiblical (contrary to Scripture). Acts 4:12 declares that Jesus is the only redeemer. 1 Timothy 2:5 proclaims that Jesus is the only mediator between God and men.

Many other examples could be given. These issues alone clearly identify the Catholic Church as being unbiblical. Every Christian denomination has traditions and practices that are not explicitly based on Scripture. That is why Scripture must be the standard of Christian faith and practice. The Word of God is always true and reliable. The same cannot be said of church tradition. Our guideline is to be: “What does Scripture say?” (Romans 4:3; Galatians 4:30; Acts 17:11). 2 Timothy 3:16-17 declares, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

Detective Fired After Catching Predator....Blowback for exposing a popular priest

Detective Fired After Catching Predator....Blowback for exposing a popular priest

SAGINAW, Mich.

Saginaw county's most highly decorated police officer, with more than 35 years of experience and 50 letters of commendation in his file, was abruptly fired in the wake of his investigation that put Saginaw's popular priest Fr. Robert DeLand in jail.

Cradle Catholic Detective Brian Berg, who spearheaded the four-month covert operation leading to DeLand's arrest and conviction, is now unemployed ever since he was unexpectedly fired last October by Saginaw's police chief, Dennis Green.

Berg sat down with Church Militant to explain what happened the morning of Oct. 17.

"I was called in out of the blue. ... The chief said, 'I want to see you,'" recounts Berg. The chief, according to Berg, then curtly told him, "You're done. You're fired."

"I asked why," recalls Berg, and the chief's response was simply, "We're told we don't have to give you a reason."

While investigating DeLand, Berg was getting pressured by his superiors to drop the case. But Berg told Church Militant he never let DeLand's popularity or internal resistance from within his department derail his investigation.

Asked about the pressure that arises from having members inside the police force being friends with the popular priests like DeLand, Berg said, "That's very prevalent in a small community. But in my 35 years, I've tried to never let that influence me. Because at the end of the day, I look in the mirror and [ask] did I do the right thing."

The conspiracy of silence among members inside and outside the Church is even more prevalent within small communities, Berg noted.

"There is a mindset especially in smaller communities where, uh, 'keep it quiet; let's just make it go away,'" he said.

Getting blackballed is common when some won't look the other way. He then recounted what happened when he tried to get a job with another law enforcement department.

"I interviewed recently for a police chief job and I didn't get it when I revealed what happened," he said.

Speaking of his recent firing following the DeLand case, Berg said, "But I told them exactly what happened. If you want to hire a police chief that's going to look the other way, I'm not your guy."

A detective should not be expected to look the other way.

In a written statement issued shortly after his firing last October, Berg clarified that he wouldn't be complicit in covering up any crime, including clerical sex abuse:

As a proud Christian and dedicated police officer of 35 years, with 50 Letters of Commendation during my career, I will never be deterred from doing the right thing, regardless of the costs associated with doing what is right.

A detective should not be expected to look the other way, be labeled too effective, or be told the township does not like media attention. The recent high-profile cases Tittabawassee Township has experienced is not something I personally sought out. However, when presented with such crimes I will always investigate the cases thoroughly and bring the criminals to justice.

I laud the Saginaw County Prosecutor's Office for their hard work and courage to handle such a high-profile case as the Father DeLand case. Many other prosecutor's offices would simply have covered it up.

Berg is not alone. Retired police officers from Buffalo, New York recently confirmed to media that they were directed by superiors to not arrest Catholic priests involved in sexual misconduct. They were told instead to hand such priests over to the Buffalo diocese for special treatment.

Former vice squad detective Martin Harrington revealed, "The department's unwritten policy was that Catholic priests did not get arrested."

"I never had any experience with priests who molested children," he continued. "I never heard of any priests molesting children. But we had priests we caught with pornography or masturbating in the city parks, and our orders were to turn them over to the Buffalo diocese."

"The diocese would deal with them," he said, "but they would not be arrested."

Church Militant reported on the tragic case of Buffalo's priest Fr. Joseph Moreno, who was murdered in 2012 while trying to blow the whistle on the conspiracy of silence between Church officials, law enforcement, corrupt judges and even politicians.

Moreno's sister, Susan Moreno, told Church Militant that a few days before her brother's death, he was going to unveil the homosexual corruption in Bp. Richard Malone's Buffalo diocese.

Susan Moreno related, "My brother told me Tuesday, after the meeting with Bp. Malone, that he was going to blow the whistle on the abuse, the homosexuality activity that was happening in the diocese of Buffalo, as well as other corruption that he saw at St. Lawrence and at St. Jude."
The details of Moreno's faked suicide indicate a cover-up involving local law enforcement.

Pennsylvania was another area showing collusion between local law enforcement and corrupt Church officials in covering up clerical sex abuse. Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro noted this collusion when introducing his now-famous Pennsylvania grand jury report.

The report showed a "failure of law enforcement," said Shapiro.

Former Philadelphia District Attorney Lynne Abraham said part of the problem involved Catholic policemen.

"It was a different time," she said. "You didn't remonstrate with the guy who's giving you absolution."

Homosexual Predator Catholic Priest in Action

Homosexual Predator Catholic Priest in Action

Fr. Robert DeLand: "To discover that you have some gay tendencies is a fine thing, because then you don’t have to be so confused."

A predator priest in action.

Fr. Robert DeLand: "I love you so much. I mean what I say, I love you so much."

The voice of Father Robert DeLand, now in prison, caught on tape grooming a victim for sex abuse.

Fr. Robert DeLand: "We're gonna get you drunk and you're gonna cry. Does that sound good?"

The victim, a 17-year-old male, secretly capturing audio of his encounters with the high-ranking Saginaw Michigan priest, who targeted the boy when he was grieving the death of his friend to suicide.

Fr. Robert DeLand: "What do we call each other? Well, I mean, it's more than a friendship. Something so deep, so good."

It was these secret audio recordings that led DeLand to plead no contest in March of this year to multiple counts of sexual assault.

Fr. Robert DeLand: "I plead no contest, your honor."

Going to trial would've meant making the audio public — something he did not want. But Church Militant filed a FOIA request, obtaining the recordings.

Fr. Robert DeLand: "And so if you're gay, you're gay. Bring home a boyfriend, I'm gonna love him just like I love you."

They're a damning indictment, showing the grooming tactics of a homosexual predator.

Fr. Robert DeLand: "If you're gay, I don't care. And I have a feeling that there's some gayness in there."

The undercover sting was spearheaded by Detective Brian Berg of Tittabawassee Township. Audio shows the priest offering the boy cigarettes, alcohol and the drug ecstasy. The boy pretended to be confused about his sexuality, and from then on DeLand’s conversations revolved non-stop around gay sex ...

Fr. Robert DeLand: "Would you see yourself doing anal sex or would you see yourself sucking? I think we've arrived at the moment when it's time to find that out."

... even telling the boy to watch gay porn, touch himself and then call the priest the next day.

Fr. Robert DeLand: "Do it again and see what it feels like again. And then I'm going to talk to you later, so I'm gonna ask you how that felt."

The four-month covert operation culminating in his attempt to sexually assault the victim, who fled the priest's condo ...

Victim (after escaping the condo): "So weird. I'm starting to shake. ... Yeah, he kept rubbing my a** and my hand. ... He started rubbing my hand on top of my crotch."

... leading to the priest's immediate arrest in February 2018.

Since then the local prosecutor has launched a criminal investigation into the diocese of Saginaw, after he was flooded with tips on other predator priests.

DeLand, now serving 2–15 years in a Michigan prison, may be just the first among multiple clergy in Saginaw to be found guilty of abuse.

Phony Christian and Nutcase Pope Francis: Church Must Learn to Abandon Old ‘Traditions’

Pope Francis: Church Must Learn to Abandon Old ‘Traditions’

It is a mistake for the Church to try to hold onto old traditions or to have clear answers for everything, Pope Francis said Thursday.

Jesus intentionally omitted telling his disciples many things so that the Church would learn to renounce the desire for clarity and order, the pope told participants in the 21st general assembly of Caritas Internationalis, the Church’s global charitable outreach.

When pagans first embraced the Christian faith, the question arose as to if they would have to abide by all the precepts of the Jewish law, something Jesus never spoke of, the pope noted.

By not always giving “clear rules” that would quickly resolve issues, Jesus was protecting the Church from the temptation of “efficientism,” Francis said, which is the desire for the Church to have everything under control, avoiding surprises, with its agenda always in order.

This is not the way the Lord acts, he continued. He does not send answers from heaven. “He sends the Holy Spirit.”

“Jesus does not want the church to be a perfect model, satisfied with its own organization and able to defend its good name,” he said. “Jesus did not live like this, but on a journey, without fearing the upheavals of life.”

Francis famously refused to answer four cardinals who presented him with five questions or “dubia” to clarify certain purportedly unclear teachings in his 2016 teaching letter, Amoris Laetitia (The Joy of Love).

In 2017, the former doctrinal chief of the U.S. Bishops Conference (USCCB) wrote a powerful letter to the pope, criticizing his “intentionally ambiguous” teaching, derision of conservatives, and resistance to constructive criticism.

The Capuchin priest, Father Thomas Weinandy, whom Pope Francis himself named to the Vatican’s International Theological Commission in 2014, listed five points that illustrate the “chronic confusion” that seems to characterize the Francis pontificate, namely, intentional ambiguity, disdain for doctrine, the naming of heterodox bishops, sowing division in the Church, and vindictiveness in the face of criticism.

The Pope’s guidance “at times seems intentionally ambiguous,” the theologian stated, leaving the faithful confused and spiritually adrift. “To teach with such a seemingly intentional lack of clarity inevitably risks sinning against the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of truth,” the priest said.

While the pope accuses his critics of making doctrine into an ideology, “it is precisely Christian doctrine that frees people from worldly ideologies and assures that they are actually preaching and teaching the authentic, life-giving Gospel,” Weinandy said.

Other observers have attributed the Pope’s habitual vagueness to his training in the Jesuit order.

“For those unfamiliar with Jesuits,” wrote Dominic Lynch in The Federalist, “vague and porous doctrine is almost their raison d’être. Indeed, it is so baked into the order that finding a conservative Jesuit is more difficult than finding a liberal in West Texas.”

Wild Thing's comment........

This Pope is such a phony Christian and this pope is a babbling idiot.

God is not the author of confusion. God is one of reason and a sound mind.

“...so that the Church would learn to renounce the desire for clarity and order...” from the idiot Pope.

President Trump called press into the Rose Garden

President Trump called press into the Rose Garden ...regarding Congress and House Democrats for their investigations into the Mueller report.

President Trump on Wednesday demanded Democrats end what he called their "phony investigations" before he'll negotiate with them on issues like infrastructure, as he delivered a fiery statement from the Rose Garden after a meeting with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer was cut short.

The president railed against the various congressional probes during his solo appearance, and rejected Pelosi's allegations moments earlier of a "cover-up." “So I just wanted to let you know that I walked into the room and I told Sen. Schumer, Speaker Pelosi, I want to do infrastructure,” Trump told reporters. “I want to do it more than you want to do it. I would be really good at that. That's what I do. But you know what? You can't do it under these circumstances. So get these phony investigations over with.” Earlier in the day, Pelosi told reporters “we believe that the president of the United States is engaged in a cover-up—a cover-up.”

"Instead of walking in happily into a meeting, I walk in to look at people that have just said that I was doing a cover up," Trump said. "I don't do cover-ups.” Trump, who stood at a podium displaying a sign that said “no collusion, no obstruction,” also lashed out at media for their coverage of the Russia probe.

“This whole thing was a takedown attempt at the president of the United States, and honestly you ought to be ashamed of yourselves for the way you reported so dishonestly,” he said.

Roe v. Wade Film Begins Shooting amid Mounting Protests and Backlash

Roe v. Wade Film Begins Shooting amid Mounting Protests and Backlash

Actor and producer Nick Loeb is filming a movie about the highly controversial 1973 Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade amid rejection by pro-abortion advocates.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Loeb and his production partner Cathy Allyn are co-directing the film and have been keeping it under wraps – even to the extent of using a fake title for locations – for the sake of the security of the cast and crew.

Loeb, who is shooting the movie in New Orleans, explains the secrecy by telling the story of a woman wearing a headset approaching him and asking if he was the director of Roe v. Wade.

“When I told her I was, she told me to go fuck myself,” he told the Hollywood Reporter. “Then she threw her headset on the ground and walked off. I found out later she was our electrician.”

The report continues:

Even with the secrecy, it’s been a challenging shoot. At Louisiana State University, Loeb says, “we were told we were rejected due to our content, even though it will be a PG-rated film. They refused to put it in writing, but they told us on the phone it was due to content.” At Tulane, where Loeb is an alum, the film shot one day, but after the school newspaper reported on the nature of the project, producers were denied a second day of shooting, according to Loeb. (Both Tulane and LSU say logistics were the problem, not the content of the movie.)

And then there was a synagogue in New Orleans that producers rented for catering and as a place for extras to hang out. “Once they found out what the film was about, they locked us out. We had to call the police so that the extras and caterers could retrieve their possessions,” Loeb says.

Some actors reportedly walked away from the movie as well when they discovered Loeb was not supportive of abortion.

“We had to replace three local actors, including one who was to play Norma McCorvey, even after she begged for the role,” he said.

McCorvey was known as Jane Roe in the landmark legal case, in which the high court created a right to abortion when none every existed in the Constitution. She ultimately became a pro-life advocate, stating she was manipulated into signing on to the case.

Even the film’s original director quit on the first day of shooting, necessitating Loeb and Allyn to step in to co-direct the film.

In January, Loeb told Breitbart News his film is “the first movie ever about the true story” of the controversial Supreme Court case. The film’s Indiegogo crowdfunding site had been blocked by Facebook, he reported, at that time.

The film’s cast includes outspoken conservative stars Jon Voight and Robert Davi as two Supreme Court justices, with Corbin Bernsen, John Schneider, Steve Guttenberg, William Forsythe, Wade Williams, and Richard Portnow also as justices.

Former Fox News commentator Stacey Dash, star of Clueless, plays the role of Mildred Jefferson, the first black woman graduate of Harvard Medical School and the former president of pro-life organization National Right to Life.

Pro-life activist Dr. Alveda King – niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. – is serving as executive producer of the movie.

Loeb himself made headlines when he filed a lawsuit against his ex-fiancée, actress Sofia Vergara, for full and sole custody of the former couple’s embryos, which had been residing in a state of cryopreservation in California.

In a case that was the first to bring awareness to the rights of embryos, Loeb filed a petition with the District Court for the Louisiana parish of Plaquemines.

The producer told Breitbart News he became pro-life in his 20s “when I went through having two abortions.”

Now, Loeb and Allyn say the timing is perfect for their film, with the resignation of Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy and President Donald Trump’s anticipated choice of a replacement for him.

“But even without that news, it’s one of the most controversial political decisions in history,” he told the Hollywood Reporter. “It divides us and makes us uncomfortable. I have my own pro-life issue going on with my fight over embryos, but no one has really told the whole truth about Roe v. Wade in a film.”

“When I delved into this, I discovered conspiracy theories, fake news, made-up statistics and a whole lot of people involved who switched their positions from pro-choice to pro-life, including Norma,” he said.

Donald Trump is Awakening the American Dream by Robert Davi

Donald Trump is Awakening the American Dream

by Robert Davi

Actor, singer, Hollywood conservative and Breitbart columnist Robert Davi.

On June 15, while Donald Trump was announcing his candidacy for President of the United States, I began to write.

My article was published here on June 16, and I was way out front in how Donald Trump would resonate with the American people. Needless to say, I received tons of flak and ridicule. Also, the majority of pundits smirkingly dismissed it as an absurdity to think Trump would make a serious run.

Well, my dear fellow Americans, it is now two months since he made his announcement and I must say—while I feel there are some terrific candidates—Trump towers over all like a colossus

For years I have heard people say “what America needs is someone who is successful to run the country,” “is this the best America has to offer?”, ” there is so much scrutiny in running anyone who is very successful would never run,” etc., etc. Enter Donald Trump.

Trump is a force of nature with a love for America that has made him sacrifice his very successful life. He now brings a message of bold, forceful, positive energy. I do not like when I hear him referred to as “bombastic.”

When pundits refer to him this way it is because the Donald does not fit into the cookie cutter way they perceive politics, and his direct, no nonsense style is criticized to minimize his message. While I listen to all the candidates speak, Trump inspires the most confidence. I believe he will be able to negotiate with other world leaders. I believe he can inspire the confidence to bring Americans together and reset our national will. I believe he is exactly what America needs right now.

We do not need another politician who has no life experience, but is mired in the bureaucratic thinking that keeps the status quo. I want someone who can build, and Trump has proven he can build and negotiate. But even more, Trump has what Reagan had: the ability to communicate and inspire confidence.

While I intently listen to some very good candidates speak, I feel ok nice, fine, good, but I am not excited. They may say the right things, but I really do not feel they have the force of personality or experience to “Make America Great Again.” Herein lies the strength of Donald Trump.

I watched Trump on Meet the Press and was quite impressed. Chuck Todd pressed him on several issues, and whether you agree with Trump’s ideas or not, he comes across as absolutely authentic, not political.

While Todd attempted to trap Trump—and expected him to come across as unlikable or clueless—Trump answered honestly and directly. He had Todd stumped. Watch Chuck Todd’s face, you will see a subtle look of perplexity and frustration that he wasn’t able to make the Donald look, well, un-presidential.

In fact, I say that Donald Trump came across as a potential Leader of the Free World that will have to be reckoned with. He is a man who wants and will get some of the best America has to offer to negotiate with other countries . How refreshing. I for one have watched bureaucrats and politicians make bad deals and sell out this country.

It is time we have a leader that does not apologize for wanting America to reclaim its destiny and this is resonating with a wide range of people, not just the “angry Americans ” the media would have you believe .

Legal immigrants who came to America—hoping to live the dream it was built on—are pulling for Trump. For instance, Ali and Sayeed, who work in the gas station I usually get my gas from are talking about how they are for Trump. Women who are nurses, lawyers, and hockey moms are speaking of Trump while getting their morning breakfast drink at Starbucks.

Its time we galvanize behind a man who has the energy, personal charisma, vision, and real-world experience that can help pull America out of the quicksand that Progressives, the current administration, and weak political thinking by both parties have stuck us in.

Recently, I read that Glenn Beck was asking conservative pundits: “These are smart people. What am I missing? Why are you for Trump?”

Well to Mr.Beck and those asking similar questions, let me say this. For years I have heard politicians seemingly say the “right things” and have a consistent point of view. I have heard wonderfully intellectual answers to issues that sound great but are too nuanced to resonate on a deeper level.

Most politicians, while well-meaning, speak with a “forked tongue.” Im tired and bored of this. I like the plainspeak of Donald Trump. Some folks make it seem like you are a leper if one has a change of heart or personal growth on certain issues based on life’s circumstances. Well let me say—thats a lot of HOOEY! No one has talked about America with the kind of positive strength that I am hearing from Trump.

My question is what are you not hearing? For years, we needed someone who can use popular culture to bring a message that will resonate across the aisle. Trump has been on the inside of business, he knows how the sausage is made and let’s us know it. I want someone with the strength of character that will grind up Washington and serve it up to the American people. One must also take note of Trump’s family, his children are not rejecting him, they do not resent him, it is not easy being a father and Trump’s children seem to be hard working and nice people. As they say, the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree.

America, we need someone who will not let the failed ideologies of the Left further erode the values our nation was built on, and who isn’t afraid of going up against the status quo. Instead of waiting for Trump to fail, I say let’s all help him succeed—for in doing so we just may be able to wake up the American Dream.

Ex Mormon Gives Most Incredible Testimony

Ex Mormon Gives Most Incredible Testimony

This is one of the most incredible testimonies I've ever heard, and such a testimony of how God can change the hearts of those who seek him! A very zealous Mormon goes to Florida for his missions, where he tries to convert Baptists and is instead presented the gospel of Jesus. In this video he explains how he turned from his belief in Mormonism to trusting in the finished work of Christ for his salvation!

Wild Thing's comment.......

God bless this amazing man and his dear family.

You would think the Mormons would be smart enough to think about the person who also hung on a cross next to Jesus....and the "lack of works" that person had. His justification was simply asking Jesus to remember him. Saved by Grace.

Interview of Trump's Ex-Butler Tony Senecal

Donald Trump former butler Tony Senecal has much to tell, like when a young Mr. Trump and first wife Ivana, had four butlers waiting on them hand and foot.

Senecal, who served Trump for almost 20 years, told IE: "The man sleeps maybe three or four hours a night." Senecal describes Trump as a man always on the move and rarely relaxes.

Trump does have his pet peeves. "People being late," according to the butler is one of them. He also says Trump doesn't tolerate sloppiness in others or himself.

One man who really knows what Donald Trump is like is his private butler, Anthony Senecal. Before retiring a few years ago, he worked at Mr Trump's lavish Mar-a-Lago estate for three decades.

Boogie Street - Leonard Cohen

The movie is ''Un balcon sur la mer'' or "A View of Love''.

My darling darling beloved one
Ohh I remember crystal clear
The water fall and the stream
Were I first saw you
As I was passing by
Every day I would watch you
On the other side of the water
Hiding behind a bush
In love with you and your beauty
Till one day you gently called me out
Too you from behind the bush

Oh my love oh my love
Do you remember as well
When we came here
We embraced
You said If all else fails
Remember our love
I love you
Remember
Now we are here
Awake and in love
My love
We are now meant to be together
Then we'll know the full meaning OF BOOGIE STREET
Bound together again
My beloved beloved one
Bound together again
My one and only love
My mate my all
With kisses in love
I send you these words on the wind
My beloved beloved one

The Socialist Pope Francis Urges Youth to Hear the ‘Anguished Plea of the Earth’

Pope Urges Youth to Hear the ‘Anguished Plea of the Earth’

Pope Francis has told young economists and entrepreneurs that the world needs a different kind of economy, “one that cares for the environment and does not despoil it.”

In a letter to young business people for an upcoming event titled “Economy of Francesco,” named for Saint Francis of Assisi, the pope declared that “the safeguarding of the environment cannot be divorced from ensuring justice for the poor and finding answers to the structural problems of the global economy.”

“We need to correct models of growth incapable of guaranteeing respect for the environment,” he said.

Saint Francis is a worthy model to follow, the pope said, because he is “the outstanding example of care for the vulnerable and of an integral ecology.”

Jesus told Saint Francis of Assisi to go “repair my house,” the pope recalled. The Lord’s command increasingly “concerns the environment, which urgently demands a sound economy and a sustainable development that can heal its wounds and assure us of a worthy future,” he said.

The pope went on to insist that each person is called “to rethink his or her mental and moral priorities, to bring them into greater conformity with God’s commandments and the demands of the common good.”

This call especially concerns young people, he said, because their desire for a better future makes them a prophetic sign, “pointing towards an economy attentive to the person and to the environment.”

“Please, do not leave it to others to be protagonists of change. You are the ones who hold the future! Through you, the future enters into the world. I ask you also to be protagonists of this transformation… I ask you to build the future, to work for a better world,” he said.

In his letter, released by the Vatican on Saturday, the pope urged young people to “cultivate together the dream of a new humanism” that goes beyond religion to engage all people, whether or not they believe in God.

What the world needs, Francis proposed, is “a common ‘covenant,’ a process of global change. One in which not only believers but all men and women of good will, beyond differences of creed and nationality, can participate, inspired by an ideal of fraternity attentive above all to the poor and excluded.”

Wild Thing's comment.......

Francis twists both the Bible and the writings of saints to advance his wicked agenda.

When socialists and humanists quote the Bible, they take statements out of context for a political advantage. They put them in a worldly context whereas Jesus always spoke from a spiritual one.

Two steps forward and one step back won’t cleanse the Catholic Church

Two steps forward and one step back won’t cleanse the Catholic Church

THE ESSENTIAL problem that gave rise to decades of clergy sex abuse in the Roman Catholic Church was that bishops, whose authority over their domains is all but absolute, were too often complicit in enabling pedophile priests, covering up their crimes, and looking the other way as countless young victims were raped, molested, harassed and left scarred for life. Now Pope Francis, grappling with successive waves of scandals and revelations, has decreed elaborate new policies and procedures designed to beat back a scourge that has partly defined his papacy.

Unfortunately, as with so much the pope has said and done to contain the crisis, the laws he handed down, saying that sexual abuse must “never happen again,” are half-measures. The laws outline procedures mandating that priests and nuns report suspected abuse and coverup to their superiors, provide protections for whistleblowers, accelerate investigations and require that victims be informed of investigative outcomes if they desire.

However, even as he reshaped church law, the pope left its most fundamental features intact — bishops remain in charge, policing themselves and the church, and procedures for removing and punishing them remain uncertain. That was a bitter disappointment to victims of clerical sexual abuse, and it is likely to disappoint many of the church’s faithful, already disillusioned by a scandal that exploded nearly two decades ago.

The new protocols are not toothless — among other things, they apply retroactively, meaning priests and nuns will be expected to report old cases of abuse. And in announcing them Thursday, Francis acknowledged the suffering of victims and years of failure by his two predecessors to come to terms with the crisis. The church, he said, “must continue to learn from the bitter lessons of the past.”

Yet one of those lessons — that the absence of full accountability, including to civil authorities, has deepened and prolonged the blight of abuse — seems to have gone unheeded. There will be no ironclad requirement that church authorities alert police and prosecutors when allegations of abuse arise. And while bishops in the largest church jurisdictions will be empowered to look into allegations of coverup and other wrongdoing against bishops in nearby, smaller dioceses, it strains credulity to assume that investigations carried out within the confines of those fraternities will be reliably rigorous and impartial. After all, one defining characteristic of the scandal has been the church’s demonstrated inability to police and punish its own.

The Vatican maintains that mandating reporting to civilian authorities would imperil Catholics in some countries where they already face oppression. In fact, the pope could have made exceptions for those countries while imposing tough protocols elsewhere.

Pope Francis sits astride a vast realm and bureaucracy; one gets the impression of a man engaged in a struggle to balance competing constituencies and interests. On the issue of sexual abuse, however, which has sapped the church’s moral authority and left uncountable victims in its wake, politics as usual does not suffice.

Pope Francis Signs Document Protecting “Consensual” Clerical Sodomy

Pope Francis Signs Document Protecting “Consensual” Clerical Sodomy

by Chris Ferrara

Yes, the title of this column is provocative, to say the least, but that is what is really going on with the just-signed Apostolic Letter “Vos Estis Lux Mundi” (VELM). VELM lays down requirements for reporting “crimes of sexual abuse” committed by clerics, which “offend Our Lord, cause physical, psychological and spiritual damage to the victims and harm the community of the faithful.” But VELM is just another layer of bureaucratic procedure that ignores the underlying rot of the widespread homosexual infiltration of the clergy.

We know this as soon as we read the description of the prohibited “delicts against the sixth commandment of the Decalogue”:

“… forcing someone, by violence or threat or through abuse of authority, to perform or submit to sexual acts…

“… performing sexual acts with a minor or a vulnerable person;

“… production, exhibition, possession or distribution, including by electronic means, of child pornography, as well as by the recruitment of or inducement of a minor or a vulnerable person to participate in pornographic exhibitions…”

The term “vulnerable person” is defined as “any person in a state of infirmity, physical or mental deficiency, or deprivation of personal liberty which, in fact, even occasionally, limits their ability to understand or to want or otherwise resist the offence…”. Notice how even the term “vulnerable person” is limited to cases of physical or mental deficiency or coercion. Apparently, “vulnerable person” does not include legal adults who are persuaded to engage in sexual acts by clerics who convince them there is nothing wrong with such conduct.

So, to sum up: VELM does absolutely nothing to address (1) “consensual” acts of sodomy involving clerics and their willing partners in one of the sins that cry out to Heaven for retribution; (2) the “production, exhibition, possession or distribution” of adult (versus child) pornography, or (3) consensual adult participation in pornographic exhibitions.

That is, the entire “gay subculture” and its practices among the clergy are left untouched so long as they do not manifest themselves in criminal offences against minors or the coercion of “vulnerable” adult partners in sodomy. Otherwise, VELM exhibits no concern about sexual “delicts against the sixth commandment of the Decalogue.”

Clearly, therefore, Francis sees no need to remedy the homosexual corruption of the priesthood. He does not even intimate that “consensual” sodomy involving clerics is also an evil that “offend[s] Our Lord, caus[ing] physical, psychological and spiritual damage to the victims and… the community of the faithful.” In fact, the carefully limited definitions in VELM implicitly treat sodomy between “consenting adults” in the clergy as something that is not even to be reported, much less punished. We see at work here a kind of positivism in ecclesiastical law: whatever is not prohibited is permitted. Indeed, in this case what is permitted is not even worthy of mention.

What a mockery, then, are VELM’s pious declarations that “Our Lord Jesus Christ calls every believer to be a shining example of virtue, integrity and holiness” and that “a continuous and profound conversion of hearts is needed… so that personal sanctity and moral commitment can contribute to promoting the full credibility of the Gospel message and the effectiveness of the Church’s mission.”

Here as elsewhere it is evident that not only has “the Great Reformer” reformed nothing, he has actually made the corrupt ecclesial status quo worse, as Henry Sire (aka Marcantonio Colonna) documents beyond reasonable doubt in his “The Dictator Pope.” VELM is just another sign of a radically dysfunctional papacy that represents what has to be the terminal phase of the ecclesial crisis the Church has endured since Vatican II.

But it is precisely at such points in Church history that Providence opens the way to restoration — in this case with the heavenly assistance of the Virgin Mother of God.

Abp. Wilton Gregory has track record of trying to evade justice

Abp. Wilton Gregory has track record of trying to evade justice

Uncovering the Cover-Up

In spite of holding himself forth as a champion of victims, Abp. Wilton Gregory's track record reveals instead lack of transparency and obfuscation, and Catholics are waiting to see what Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr will uncover in his newly launched investigation of both the Atlanta and Savannah dioceses.

Observers suggest Carr is likely to unearth many long-buried abuse cases, particularly in Atlanta, where Gregory is wrapping up a 14-year stint as archbishop, before moving on to head the Washington, D.C. archdiocese.

According to the narrative Gregory and his allies have constructed over the past two decades, the archbishop is a strong victims' advocate dedicated to stamping out clerical sex abuse. But a closer look at his record reveals a different story.

In 2004, Gregory, then bishop of Belleville, Illinois, was held in contempt of court for refusing to release records related to a sex abuse case involving a retired priest.

In 2004, Bp. Gregory was held in contempt of court for refusing to release records related to a sex abuse case.

As archbishop of Atlanta, for years Gregory refused requests by victims' advocacy groups to release the names of credibly accused clergy.

Last November he relented, issuing a list of 15 predator priests. But the timing of the release — in the wake of the Theodore McCarrick scandal — was not lost on victims or their advocates, many of whom denounced Gregory's move as a cynical attempt at self-preservation, designed to deflect attention from his close relationship with McCarrick.

Another red flag: Abp. Gregory's list identified only 15 predator priests. Two days after the Atlanta clergy were named, Savannah Bp. Gregory Hartmayer identified 16 predator priests from his southern Georgia diocese.

This prompted a still-unanswered question: How could the diocese of Savannah, home to just 85,000 Catholics, have more predators than the archdiocese of Atlanta, home to 1.2 million Catholics?

Gregory's critics point to other blots on his record. In 2015, victims' advocacy group SNAP published the names of six predator priests who had victimized minors in other states and spent time in Atlanta. Though allegations against the men attracted media coverage in other states, in Georgia, they remained under the radar.

If the archbishop was truly concerned about clerical sex abuse victims, it was asked, why didn't he publicize the men's identities? Each was either credibly accused of or had admitted to sexual abuse of minors. Identifying them could have encouraged any Atlanta victims to step forward to claim justice.

In December, abuse victim "Phillip Doe" filed suit against Gregory and the Atlanta archdiocese, claiming they have "conspired, continue to conspire, and have actively engaged in efforts to" conceal clerical sex abuse.

In spring 2018, Abp. Gregory successfully undermined the Hidden Predators' Act, a Georgia bill that would have extended the statute of limitations from age 23 to 38 and allowed victims to sue their alleged abusers as well as institutions that enabled the abuse.

To many, Gregory's lobbying — occurring just three months before the McCarrick revelations broke — was the final proof that the archbishop doesn't fight for clerical sex abuse victims, as he claims, but against them.

More BS from the POPE....Pope Francis issues law requiring clergy, religious to report sex abuse

Pope’s New Norms on Sex Abuse Leave Power in Hands of Bishops. The pope's new motu proprio on sex abuse allows the bishops to investigate themselves, cutting laity out of any investigation and failing to direct clergy to report abuse to secular authorities.

Pope Francis issues law requiring clergy, religious to report sex abuse

ROME, May 10, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) — Pope Francis on Thursday issued an apostolic letter that requires all priests and other religious to report to their superiors any credible accusations of clerical sexual abuse and cover-ups.

The Pope’s motu proprio is titled “You are the Light of the World” (Vos estis lux mundi), which is taken from the Gospel of Matthew and makes mandated reporters of the more than 415,000 priests and more than 700,000 religious women around the world. The document requires them to inform Church authorities when they become aware or have “well-founded motives to believe” that a member of the clergy or a female religious has sexually abused a minor or possessed child pornography, or when a superior has covered up any such crimes. It does not require that they report allegations to civil authorities.

The new law further provides whistleblower protections for those reporting on sexual abuse while also requiring dioceses to put systems into place by June 2020 to receive confidential allegations. Another key point in the new document is that it provides procedures for pursuing investigations when the accused is a bishop, cardinal, or religious superior. In the past, victims and accusers have complained that investigations against the hierarchy have languished, as was the case with the now disgraced former cardinal Theodore McCarrick.

Firefighters Day Today !

Today is Firefighters day.

Firefighters Day was created in 1999 after 5 firefighters died tragically during a wildfire in Australia when the direction of the wind changed suddenly and engulfed them in flames. It is celebrated on May 4th because that is Saint Florian’s day, and Saint Florian, who was said to be one of the first commanding firefighters of an actual Roman battalion and saved many lives, is the patron saint of firefighters.

Few people deserve to be celebrated as much as these heroic men and women do, so let’s all make sure to celebrate Firefighters Day in their honor!
