John Kerry Praises Iran’s “Elected Government” And Its “Remarkable History”

Kerry Praises Iran’s “Elected Government” And Its “Remarkable History”

(CNSNews.com)

Describing Iran as a country with an “elected” government and a “remarkable history,” Secretary of State John Kerry on Wednesday reiterated President Obama’s willingness to hold bilateral talks with the regime.

“It’s a matter of public record that he personally communicated to the supreme leader [Ayatollah Ali Khamenei] that he was prepared to engage and to discuss these issues,” Kerry told a news conference with his French counterpart in Paris.

Responding to a reporter’s question about negotiating with a “terrorist” regime, Kerry pointed out that “Iran is a country with a government that was elected and that sits in the United Nations.”

“And it is important for us to deal with nation-states in a way that acts in the best interests of all of us in the world,” he added, drawing a parallel with President Reagan’s willingness to sit down with Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev and President Nixon’s decision to engage with China.

Biden Has More Shotgun Advice: “Just Fire The Shotgun Through The Door”

Field & Stream Gun Rights Interviews: Joe Biden

Field & Stream

Biden Has More Shotgun Advice: “Just Fire The Shotgun Through The Door”

Well, the way in which we measure it is—I think most scholars would say—is that as long as you have a weapon sufficient to be able to provide your self-defense,” Biden said. “I did one of these town-hall meetings on the Internet and one guy said, “Well, what happens when the end days come? What happens when there’s the earthquake? I live in California, and I have to protect myself.”

I said, “Well, you know, my shotgun will do better for you than your AR-15, because you want to keep someone away from your house, just fire the shotgun through the door.” Most people can handle a shotgun a hell of a lot better than they can a semiautomatic weapon in terms of both their aim and in terms of their ability to deter people coming. We can argue whether that’s true or not, but it is no argument that, for example, a shotgun could do the same job of protecting you. Now, granted, you can come back and say, “Well, a machine gun could do a better job of protecting me.” No one’s arguing we should make machine guns legal.

Journalist Bob Woodward Says Obama 'madness'... 'It makes me very uncomfortable'... Then Obama Threatens Woodward

Journalist Bob Woodward blasts Obama "madness" in handling cuts

Reuters

Journalist Bob Woodward on Wednesday criticized Barack Obama's handling of the automatic U.S. budget cuts set to take effect this week, calling the president's decision to hold back on military deployments "madness."

His comments continued what has become a running dispute between Woodward, perhaps the country's best-known print journalist, and the Democratic White House over who is responsible for the across-the-board cuts scheduled to begin on Friday.

Last week, Woodward published an opinion piece in the Washington Post - where he is an associate editor - saying the administration was "wrong" to blame the cuts on Republicans.

On Wednesday he attacked Obama for drawing national security into the budget debate.

"So we now have the president going out (saying) 'Because of this piece of paper and this agreement, I can't do what I need to do to protect the country.' That's a kind of madness that I haven't seen in a long time," Woodward told MSNBC on Wednesday.

Obama and WH Threatens Bob Woodward ...."YOU WILL REGRET DOING THIS"

BOB WOODWARD: A 'Very Senior' White House Person Warned Me I'd 'Regret' What I'm Doing

Business Insider

Bob Woodward said this evening on CNN that a "very senior person" at the White House warned him in an email that he would "regret doing this," the same day he has continued to slam President Barack Obama over the looming forced cuts known as the sequester.

CNN host Wolf Blitzer said that the network invited a White House official to debate Woodward on-air, but the White House declined.

"It makes me very uncomfortable to have the White House telling reporters, 'You're going to regret doing something that you believe in,'" Woodward said.

"I think they're confused," Woodward said of the White House's pushback on his reporting.

Earlier today on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," Woodward ripped into Obama in what has become an ongoing feud between the veteran Washington Post journalist and the White House. Woodward said Obama was showing a "kind of madness I haven't seen in a long time" for a decision not to deploy an aircraft carrier to the Persian Gulf because of budget concerns.

The Defense Department said in early February that it would not deploy the U.S.S. Harry Truman to the Persian Gulf, citing budget concerns relating to the looming cuts known as the sequester.

"Can you imagine Ronald Reagan sitting there and saying, 'Oh, by the way, I can't do this because of some budget document?'" Woodward said on MSNBC.

"Or George W. Bush saying, 'You know, I'm not going to invade Iraq because I can't get the aircraft carriers I need?'" Or even Bill Clinton saying, 'You know, I'm not going to attack Saddam Hussein's intelligence headquarters,' ... because of some budget document?"

Last weekend, Woodward called out Obama for what he said was "moving the goal posts" on the sequester by requesting that revenue be part of a deal to avert it.

Traitor and Mentally Challenged John Kerry Says Americans ‘Have a Right to Be Stupid’

John Kerry Says Americans ‘Have a Right to Be Stupid’

Secretary of State John Kerry offered a defense of freedom of speech, religion and thought in the United States on Tuesday telling German students that in America “you have a right to be stupid if you want to be.”

“As a country, as a society, we live and breathe the idea of religious freedom and religious tolerance, whatever the religion, and political freedom and political tolerance, whatever the point of view,” Kerry told the students in Berlin, the second stop on his inaugural trip as secretary of state.

“People have sometimes wondered about why our Supreme Court allows one group or another to march in a parade even though it’s the most provocative thing in the world and they carry signs that are an insult to one group or another,” he added.

“The reason is, that’s freedom, freedom of speech. In America you have a right to be stupid – if you want to be,” he said, prompting laughter. “And you have a right to be disconnected to somebody else if you want to be.

“And we tolerate it. We somehow make it through that. Now, I think that’s a virtue. I think that’s something worth fighting for,” he added. “The important thing is to have the tolerance to say, you know, you can have a different point of view.”

Kerry made the comments on his first foreign trip since becoming secretary of state on February 1. After one-night stops in London and Berlin, he visits Paris, Rome, Ankara, Cairo, Riyadh, Abu Dhabi and Doha before returning to Washington on March 6.

Like His Father ( Israel hater Ron Paul), Rand Paul Votes With Democrats to Confirm Obama’s Anti-Israel Pick Chuck Hagel as Defense Secretary 58-41

The US Senate voted to confirm Chuck Hagel as Defense Secretary today. The vote was 58-41 with Republicans Shelby from Alabama, Cochran from Mississippi, Rand Paul from Kentucky and Johanns from Nebraska joining Democrats in support of Hagel.

The Senate voted 58-41 Tuesday to confirm Chuck Hagel as the new Defense secretary to succeed Leon Panetta, thus ending a contentious battle over his nomination.

Senators voted 71-27 earlier Tuesday afternoon to end debate on President Obama’s nomination of Hagel, a Republican former senator from Nebraska.

Hagel will immediately inherit a budget crisis. Last week, the Pentagon announced it plans to furlough the majority of its 800,000 civilian employees to help meet a $46 billion shortfall caused by automatic spending cuts that begin March 1 and its stopgap budget that prevents shifting funds to urgent needs.

The contentious nomination process will not prevent Hagel from dealing with Congress, George Little, a Pentagon spokesman, said after the vote. Hagel is a “team player” whose interest in cooperation will extend to Congress, Little said.

Hagel has been briefed on issues facing the Pentagon and will be ready to start work immediately, Little said.

Wild Thing's comment.....................

Bye bye Rand Paul, you can join your buddy Chris Christie as a non presidential candidate forever. No excuses for this BS vote for Hagel.

Hezbollah Leader Hasan Nasrallah Has Cancer, Flown To Iran For Treatment After His Condition Deteriorates - Get Lost Terrorist!

Hezbollah Leader Hasan Nasrallah Has Cancer, Flown To Iran For Treatment After His Condition Deteriorates

The Turkish Anatolia News Agency reported Tuesday that Hezbollah Secretary-General Hasan Nasrallah became ill a few days ago, was admitted to a private hospital in Beirut and later flown to Tehran, this after a number of Lebanese news outlets reported over the past 24 hours that Nasrallah was diagnosed with cancer and is being treated in Iran. The reports have not been confirmed.

The Turkish news agency quoted “knowledgeable sources affiliated with Hezbollah” as saying that Nasrallah was flown to Iran after being released from a hospital in south Beirut. His flight left from the Rafik Hariri International Airport in Beirut, they said.

The sources said the leader of the Lebanese terror group was in stable condition and that he remains hospitalized in Iran.

A Hezbollah source denied the reports in an interview with the Al Mayadeen satellite network on Tuesday. .

Lebanon’s Sawt Beirut International radio station, which is affiliated with political groups opposed to Hezbollah, quoted sources who are “close” to Hezbollah as saying Monday that Nasrallah was recently diagnosed with cancer and that his condition was deteriorating. According to the report, Nasrallah, 52, traveled to Tehran on a private plane sent by the Iranian presidency.

Rick Perry Will Speak at CPAC

The Hill

Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) will speak at the Conservative Political Action Conference, the annual gathering of top Republican rising stars.

This will be the first time Perry has stepped onto the national stage since his 2012 presidential campaign flamed out after a series of missteps and gaffes. He’s reportedly interested in taking another shot at the White House in 2016, though it’s unclear if he’ll be able to recover from his last foray into national politics.

Perry is just one of nearly a dozen potential presidential candidates speaking at the mid-March event, which will be held just outside of Washington, D.C.

List of the speakers at CPAC 2013:

Bobby Jindal
Paul Ryan
Marco Rubio
Rand Paul
Scott Walker

Louis Farrakhan: Gang Members Can Serve As Protectors

Farrakhan said he believes the American government also wanted to see black leaders like himself go away.

“You killed my brother [Gadhafi], and now you got the same thing in your mind for me,” Farrakhan thundered as the crowd rose to its feet applauding. “You want to put your hands on me. In fact, you’re plotting it as I’m speaking.”

Regarding Hagel, Farrakhan said the Senate was holding up his confirmation because Hagel did not express unconditional support for Israel. He said Israeli lobbyists are applying pressure to senators to reject Hagel.

Farrakhan said the country needs a Defense secretary like Hagel, who will follow his own conscience.

Michelle Obama Buts In At Oscars presenting Best Picture award ~ Go Away Michelle!!

Michelle Obama surprises Oscars by presenting Best Picture award

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - U.S. first lady Michelle Obama made a surprise and unprecedented appearance on Sunday's Oscars telecast when she presented the award for Best Picture, the first time a president or first lady has ever presented an Academy Award.

Appearing live on screen from the White House in Washington, almost 3,000 miles from the Oscars ceremony in Hollywood, Obama praised the work of the movie industry before announcing the Iran hostage drama "Argo" the Best Picture winner.

Wearing a silver evening dress, Obama said this year's nominated films had "made us laugh, made us weep and grip our armrests just a little bit tighter."

Obama added: "They reminded us we can overcome any obstacles if we dig deep enough and hard enough. They are especially important for young people. Everyday they engage in the arts, they learn to open their imaginations ... and strive to reach those dreams."

Gov. Rick Perry: Texas Going Blue “Is The Biggest Pipedream I Have Ever Heard”

Rick Perry: Texas Going Blue “Is The Biggest Pipedream I Have Ever Heard”

or many, it’s the country’s ultimate over-the-horizon electoral question: Could Texas become a blue state?
To which Texas Republican Gov. Rick Perry emits a hearty guffaw. Texas going blue, he says, “is the biggest pipedream I have ever heard.”

To explain just how preposterous, Gov. Perry summons the example of the state’s two arch rivals, the University of Texas and Texas A&M, his alma mater, whose colors are maroon and white.

“The University of Texas will change its colors to maroon and white before Texas goes purple, much less blue,” he said in an interview on the edges of the National Governors Association winter summit in Washington, D.C.

The largest and most reliable Republican state on the presidential map has fallen into the GOP column in every presidential election since 1980. Mitt Romney last year won the state and its 38 electoral votes by 16 percentage points.

But were it to tip the other way, thanks to its swelling Hispanic population and the growth of urban liberals in cities like Dallas and Austin, the Republican route to the White House would grow perilously narrow.

Many political pollsters and demographers predict the state could get wobbly sooner than many Republicans think, possibly going blue by as early as 2020.

Gov. Perry rejects that notion with his own version of “Remember the Alamo.” Why?

“It’s because of freedom,” he says. “People in Texas truly aspire to freedom. They don’t want government coming in and telling them how much of this or how much of that.”

At heart, he argues, there’s just something about Texas. “Democrats are about government getting bigger and bigger and government providing more and more,” he says. “Texans have never been for that, and Texans never will.”

Wild Thing's comment...................

I love how when Rick Perry speaks out it is always strong and not weak responses.

Juan Williams: Liberal media will ‘shut you down, stab you, kill you, fire you’ if you disagree

Fox News political analyst and “Special Report” panelist Juan Williams said in an interview with The Daily Caller’s Ginni Thomas that mainstream media outlets “stab” and “kill” dissenting voices.

Williams was fired from National Public Radio in 2010 after saying he sometimes gets “nervous” when seated on an airplane with Muslims, while making a broader point about the importance of religious tolerance.

“I always thought it was the Archie Bunkers of the world, the right wingers of world, who were more resistant and more closed-minded about hearing the other side,” he said. “In fact, what I have learned is, in a very painful way — and I can open this shirt and show you the scars and the knife wounds — is that it is big media institutions who are identifiably more liberal to left-leaning who will shut you down, stab you and kill you, fire you, if they perceive that you are not telling the story in the way that they want it told.”

Ted Cruz Not Backing Down: Yes, Harvard Law’s Faculty Is Infested With Marxists

Sen. Ted Cruz’s office has chided the New Yorker for calling a three-year-old speech news, but has confirmed that the Texas Republican believed that the Harvard Law faculty had numerous self-described Communists.

Cruz, according to the New Yorker, said that there were a dozen Marxists on the law school faculty committed to overthrowing the U.S. government when he attended Harvard during the 1990s. But according to Cruz, there was but a single Republican on the same faculty.

Catherine Frazier, a spokeswoman for the senator, told a conservative website that the Texas Republican’s 2010 speech was substantively correct.

“It’s curious that the New Yorker would dredge up a three-year-old speech and call it ‘news,’” Frazier told The Blaze.

“Regardless, Senator Cruz’s substantive point was absolutely correct: in the mid-1990s, the Harvard Law School faculty included numerous self-described proponents of ‘critical legal studies’ — a school of thought explicitly derived from Marxism – and they far outnumbered Republicans.”

Obama's Department Of Homeland Security Is Buying 450 Million New Bullets

Obama arming DHS to the teeth: 450 Million rounds of hollow-point bullets and another 175 million .223 caliber rifle ammo massive ammunition purchase...............

Department Of Homeland Security Is Buying 450 Million New Bullets

Business Insider

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and its Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) office is getting an "indefinite delivery" of an "indefinite quantity" of .40 caliber ammunition from defense contractor ATK.

U.S. agents will receive a maximum of 450 million rounds over five years, according to a press release on the deal.

The high performance HST bullets are designed for law enforcement and ATK says they offer "optimum penetration for terminal performance."

This refers to the the bullet's hollow-point tip that passes through barriers and expands for a bigger impact without the rest of the bullet getting warped out of shape: "this bullet holds its jacket in the toughest conditions."

We've also learned that the Department has an open bid for a stockpile of rifle ammo. Listed on the federal business opportunities network, they're looking for up to 175 million rounds of .223 caliber ammo to be exact. The .223 is almost exactly the same round used by NATO forces, the 5.56 x 45mm.

The deadline for earlier this month was extended because the right contractor just hadn't come along.

Looks like the Department of Homeland Security means business.

Oregon Democrats Push Legislation to Ban Guns and Search Homes Without Warrants

Massive Gun Ban Introduced

Oregon Democrats Push Legislation to Ban Guns and Search Homes Without Warrants

Democrats in Oregon are pushing legislation that not only bans guns but allows warrantless searches of your home by government officials.

Oregon Firearms

Two days after Senate Democrats claimed they would not seek a ban on modern firearms and feeding devices, Democrats in the Oregon House introduced just that.

Seven Senators joined with eight House Reps to introduce a sweeping ban on virtually all modern firearms. Among the Senators is, of course, Ginny Burdick, who claimed on Wednesday “that she is backing off an attempt to push through a bill on gun clips that she drafted following the December shootings at the Clackamas Mall.” The other sponsors are:

Representatives BAILEY, BUCKLEY, DEMBROW, FREDERICK, READ, REARDON, TOMEI, Senators , DINGFELDER, HASS, MONNES- ANDERSON, MONROE, SHIELDS, STEINER- HAYWARD.

Remember them.

HB 3200 not only bans most modern guns and magazines, it allows warrantless searches of your home, requires background checks and registration for a firearm you already own and as-of-yet undefined storage requirements. We say “a firearm” because even if you comply with the restrictions in this bill you may still only own one.

Because Obama Hates our Military ....Virginia Military Town Preps for Cuts

FOX News

Hampton Roads, like so many communities in Virginia, has an economy that centers around the military -- in their case, the Navy.

And with eight days left for Congress to act to halt looming budget cuts known as the sequester, residents are increasingly worried that Naval Station Norfolk -- the lifeblood of the community -- will be hard hit.

Tom Taylor, who runs MF&B Marine Warehouse in Hampton Roads, is already watching contracts with the Navy dry up at his small ship-repair business.

"It's not like turning on a spigot. You don't turn it on and turn it off," Taylor said in an interview with Fox News. "These (contracts) are months or years in the planning stage, so if they are canceled, you know, they don't come right back. ... So that's pretty alarming."

Like many small business owners in Virginia, Taylor will be directly impacted by the freeze in defense spending. Seventeen percent of the sequester defense cuts will come from Virginia's Hampton Roads area. Estimates show that the entire state, factoring in major defense contractors in Northern Virginia, could lose as many as 200,000 jobs.

Most of the nation's naval fleet is maintained from ports in Norfolk and San Diego. The Pentagon has already canceled the deployment of the carrier fleet USS Harry S. Truman to the Persian Gulf citing fiscal constraints. Pentagon officials say ship maintenance is one of the first items on the chopping block come March 1, the day the sequester takes effect.

Taylor says that every day Congress stalls puts added stress on him and his community.

"It does keep you up at night," Taylor said. "When you have a small business, it's more of a personal nature. People become your friends. You know them, you've been with them through ups and downs, birth of children, weddings, graduations -- whatever it may be. And it's not like a big company, when they lay people off they have an outside firm do it, or the HR department does it. ... I have to look these people in the eye."

Meanwhile, on Wednesday the Pentagon also announced that by late April it will have to furlough more than half of its 800,000 civilian employee staff.

And on Thursday the deputy defense secretary warned that by the end of the year "two-thirds of all Army units will not be ready to fight other wars."

Virginia Rep. Bobby Scott told a community forum in Hampton Roads that he wants Congress to cancel the sequester. "Our nation is facing a serious, self-inflicted crisis that could cost our economy millions of jobs across the nation, and hundreds of thousands of jobs here in Virginia, if sequestration takes effect on March 1st." Until then, Scott said, "we have total confusion, and no one knows exactly what's going to happen."

Randy Windley, who owns Doumar's diner near the naval station, says everyone in the area is at risk. "I think it's going to have a trickle-down effect," Windley said. "We're a small business and the military is so tied to this area that it's going to hurt the economy and the surrounding cities."

Steve Jackson, a local resident and truck driver, spoke to Fox News after the community forum with Scott and said he's frustrated by the whole process. "I want to know, when am I ... getting laid off in March, or in April. And I think that's what a lot of people want to know, and the answer to that, tonight, is -- we don't know from the higher ups."

"A lot of people on the outside of the military and the government will lose their jobs all the businesses around here will be affected restaurants, car lots, grocery stores -- everyone's going to be affected by this," said Phil Swain, a retired Pentagon civilian employee who lives the Hampton Roads area with his wife Jeanee, also a retired DoD civilian.

"I think we're all worried about it," Jeanne said. "The military supports us either indirectly or directly. It affects all the businesses, the real estate, our tax base -- it's our lifeline."

I hope the idiots that voted for Obama are happy, because they are also a part of ASSHOLE obama's destroying our country and our awesome military.

Audience Cheers When Leno Says Obama ‘Doesn’t Understand Economics’

AY LENO: Hey, over the weekend, President Obama, you know that, President Obama played golf with Tiger Woods. And Tiger said the president was a very good golfer for a guy who only plays five days a week. You know, so, that’s pretty good.

Actually, you know what the president’s handicap is? Anybody know? Doesn’t understand economics. That’s the handicap. But other than that, other than that, he’s fine.

Sen. Ted Cruz to Liberal Media: “Knock Yourself Out” Attacking Me! “But for Every 10 Stories Attacking Me, Perhaps Write One Story on Chuck Hagel’s Record”

Here is a video report from Austin, Texas of Sen. Ted Cruz visiting a Weapons Manufacturer. While there, Cruz did not back down one iota in the face of the liberal media onslaught against him for daring to ask hard questions about President Obama, the Benghazi Scandal, and Obama Defense Nominee Chuck Hagel.

Cruz fired right back at the media:

“A lot of media attention has been focused on the attacks that have been leveled on me, and I would encourage all of you, if you want to write stories on that, great!. Knock yourself out! But I would ask, for every ten stories attacking me, perhaps write one story on the substance of Chuck Hagel’s record.”

Outstanding! Texas is so fortunate to have Gov. Rick Perry and Sen. Ted Cruz.

Obama says he has accepted Gen. John Allen 's request to retire from military

Obama says he has accepted Gen. John Allen 's request to retire from military

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Obama says he has accepted Gen. John Allen 's request to retire from military.

The decision ends the career of one of the U.S. military's most well-known leaders, who until February 10 spent 19 months in Afghanistan trying to help wind down America's longest war and strengthen Afghanistan's military to fight insurgency.

Beyond the pressures of war, Allen faced a media frenzy over a high-profile Pentagon investigation that in January cleared him of wrongdoing in his email exchanges with a Florida socialite, Jill Kelley.

Barack Obama and Defense Secretary Leon made no mention of that probe in statements on Tuesday, instead extolling Allen's 38-year military career. Obama cited Allen's "extraordinary service" in the Afghan war.

"Today, I met with General John Allen and accepted his request to retire from the military so that he can address health issues within his family," Obama said in a statement.

"I am grateful for the sacrifices made by his family in supporting him during his service."

Allen, in a statement, did not give details about his decision. "The reasons for my decision are personal. I did not come to it lightly or quickly, but given the considerations behind it, I recognized in the end it was the only choice I could make."

"While I won't go into the details, my primary concern is for the health of my wife, who has sacrificed so much for so long," he said.

HAILED AS BRILLIANT STRATEGIST

He said his wife, Kathy, had stood beside him for more than 35 years and he had spent much time away from her and his two daughters. "It is now my turn to stand beside them, to be there for them when they need me most," Allen said.

In an interview with the Washington Post, Allen said he wanted to focus on helping his wife cope with chronic health issues that included an autoimmune disorder.

Allen, as the head of U.S. and international forces in Afghanistan, was known for his ability to work with tribal sheikhs, a skill that also helped him turn the tide against al Qaeda in Anbar province in Iraq five years ago.

But his time in Afghanistan also was marked by a spate of incidents that enraged Afghans. They included video images of troops urinating on Taliban corpses and the burning of Korans and religious texts taken from a prison library. There were also a surge in so-called "insider attacks" on international forces by their Afghan partners.

Panetta called Allen one of the military's most outstanding battlefield leaders and a brilliant strategist, predicting Allen's leadership in Afghanistan would be remembered as "pivotal" to the 11-year-old campaign.

"The strategy he developed and implemented has put us on the right path towards completing this mission, with Afghan forces now on track to step into the lead for security nationwide this spring and to assume full security responsibility by the end of next year," Panetta said.

Wild Thing's comment.............

Another General that can't stand watching the military be destroyed by Obama.

I always remember how General Allen stood up for his men when the don't ask don't tell was going to be changed by Obama. He was furious.

Following San Fran and LA, environmentalist FREAKS seek to ban plastic bags in Sacramento

Following San Fran and LA, environmentalist wackos seek to ban plastic bags in Sacramento ...........

Sacramento Seeks To Ban Plastic Bags

FOX40

Several Sacramento City council members are pushing for a ban on one use plastic bags in the city.

Council members Kevin McCarty and Steve Cohen joined environmental groups at a press conference to announce that a council committee will begin the process of crafting an ordinance banning plastic bags.

San Francisco and Los Angeles are major cities that have banned plastic bags. Environmental groups say the bags do not break down and pollute the oceans and endanger wildlife.

But Cohn says Sacramento has waterways too.

“These plastic bags can pollute those rivers and streams as they do the oceans,” said Cohn.

McCarty says people who recycle the bags in city recycle containers often don’t bundle them up. Individual bags jam recycle machinery half a dozen times a day.

“Over a $100,000 is tied to plastic bags clogging up our machines,” said McCarty.

Many health food stores no longer use plastic bags and their customers don’t seem mind. Many of them bring their own reusable bags.

“I don’t if we ever had them actually. I think our customers would really be upset with us if we had plastic bags,” said Paul Cultrera, manager of the Sacramento Natural Food Coop.

Sacramento’s ordinance may follow ordinances in other cities and place a small charge of around $.05 on paper bags because they have their own environmental issues. Mom and Pop stores are already struggling to compete.

“Small merchants, as shrinking as our margins are to have to charge for something that is normally free…it’s just another obstacle to overcome,” said John Louie, owner of the Oak Park Market.

A city council committee is expected to ask city staff to come up with an ordinance after hearing from businesses, customers and environmental groups. Enforcing an ordinance which includes education efforts and possibly distribution of free reusable bags may cost as much as $470,000.

Wild Thing's comment................

LOL what freaks! Remember when they wanted to ban the paper bags and they said it would save trees. They insiste4d on having plastic. Now they want to ban the plastic bags. These enviro freaks are never happy and what miserable and phony people that are.

Mexico Wants U.S. Senate To Create Registry Of Gun Owners In Border States…

CBS 5 - KPHO

Mexico To Ask U.S. Senate To Create Registry Of Gun Owners In Border States

Mexican lawmakers will ask the U.S. Senate to create a registry of all commercialized firearms in border states, which includes California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. Mexico says it will make it easier to trace guns used in violent attacks.

The measure was reportedly approved on January 9 by Mexico’s Permanent Commission, a government entity that meets when Mexico’s Senate and the Chamber of Deputies is in recess. Gun owners in Arizona are calling the proposal “foolish” and an “invasion of privacy.”

A number of the gun owners interviewed by KPHO-TV also referenced the Obama administration’s disastrous gun-running operation known as “Fast and Furious.”

The operation, conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), allowed illegal straw buyers to walk across the border with nearly 2,000 firearms, including semi-automatic rifles. The weapons ultimately ended up in the hands of Mexican drug cartel members and were used in a number of crimes, including murders and kidnappings.

Further, a gun from Fast and Furious was found at the murder scene of U.S. Border Agent Brian Terry in December of 2010.

Democrats in Congress have been calling for a ban on semi-automatic rifles and universal background checks for all firearms sales, some even calling for a national gun registry. Further, Democrats in Missouri and California have proposed bills that would result in the possible confiscation of semi-automatic rifles.

Wild Thing's comment.................

Mexico sure has a lot of nerve. I wish we had true leadership that would tell Mexico to go jump in a lake with their demands on our country.

Remember how Mexico's president a few years ago went all around our country demanding we allow the illegals to come here. I will never forget that SOB.

Colorado Dem On Why Women Don’t Need Guns: You May “Feel Like You’re Going To Be Raped, When You May Actually Not Be”

“There are some gender inequities on college campuses… that’’s why we have call boxes, that’s why we have safe zones, that’s why we have the whistles. Because you just don’t know who you’re gonna be shooting at. And you don’t know if you feel like you’re gonna be raped, or if you feel like someone’s been following you around or if you feel like you’re in trouble when you may actually not be, then you pop out that gun and you pop, pop around at somebody.”

Late into the gun debate Friday, February 15th, Representative Joe Salazar talked about concerns that women could have about self defense on college campuses.

Salazar said: "That's why we have call boxes, that's why we have safe zones, that's why we have the whistles."

Seattle Senate Bill Includes “Home Inspection” As Part Of Gun Control Measure - Goodbye America!

Seattle Senate Bill Includes “Home Inspection” As Part Of Gun Control Measure

Seattle Times

Forget police drones flying over your house. How about police coming inside, once a year, to have a look around?

As Orwellian as that sounds, it isn’t hypothetical. The notion of police home inspections was introduced in a bill last week in Olympia.

That it’s part of one of the major gun-control efforts pains me. It seemed in recent weeks lawmakers might be headed toward some common-sense regulation of gun sales. But then last week they went too far. By mistake, they claim. But still too far.

“They always say, we’ll never go house to house to take your guns away. But then you see this, and you have to wonder.”

That’s no gun-rights absolutist talking, but Lance Palmer, a Seattle trial lawyer and self-described liberal who brought the troubling Senate Bill 5737 to my attention. It’s the long-awaited assault-weapons ban, introduced last week by three Seattle Democrats.

Responding to the Newtown school massacre, the bill would ban the sale of semi-automatic weapons that use detachable ammunition magazines. Clips that contain more than 10 rounds would be illegal.

But then, with respect to the thousands of weapons like that already owned by Washington residents, the bill says this:

“In order to continue to possess an assault weapon that was legally possessed on the effective date of this section, the person possessing shall … safely and securely store the assault weapon. The sheriff of the county may, no more than once per year, conduct an inspection to ensure compliance with this subsection.”

In other words, come into homes without a warrant to poke around. Failure to comply could get you up to a year in jail.

Gun Shops Running Low On Ammunition

Gun Shops Running Low On Ammunition

Gun shops are running low on ammunition from a run by customers fearful of potential gun-control legislation, according to gun retailers and customers.

Prices have more than doubled over past year in some shops, retailers are putting limits on the amount a customer can buy, and some common types of ammunition, such as .22-caliber long rifle shells, are hard to get.

The National Shooting Sports Foundation, which represents ammunition makers, retailers, hunters and sport shooters, attributes what it calls “spot shortages” around the country to rising popularity of sport-shooting and hunting, and to people who are “keeping firearms for personal and home defense.”

It is very telling that all the gun and ammo sales have happened because of Obama being president. It speaks volumes how bad he is for our country and how concerned we the people are about his agenda.

Gov. Jeb Bush Praises President Lyndon Johnson’s Leadership Style in FL Speech

Here is video of a speech delivered by former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush at an International Business Conference at Saint Leo University in Florida.

The video is queued up to where Bush talked about the need for leadership in the White House that is willing to show humility and respect to the opposition in order to get things done. He cited former President Lyndon Johnson as an example of that, pointing out how Johnson asked the Kennedy team to stay on with him after John F. Kennedy’s assassination. He also pointed out it was Johnson who pushed through a tax cut ahead of his push for the Great Society programs. Bush was holding up Johnson as an example of a President who got “big things” done through personal leadership. He did not say he supported the Great Society programs Johnson succeeded in getting enacted.

In the speech, Bush expressed his support for “Comprehensive Immigration Reform,” and spoke at length about the need to improve Education standards.

Obama On Gang Members Shooting Up Chicago: “These Guys Are No Different Than Me”

Obama On Gang Members Shooting Up Chicago: “These Guys Are No Different Than Me”

Politico

Barack Obama offered a personal reflection on gun violence here Friday, tackling the issue not as a policymaker or parent, but as a black man himself who knew how close he’d come to a very different fate.

Obama’s talked frequently about gun violence since the Newtown massacre, but never in these terms. Straying from a speech meant to discuss initiatives from his State of the Union address aimed at supporting poor communities, the president reflected instead on the group of at-risk male teens he’d met with just before he took the stage.

“I had more of a safety net, but these guys are no different than me,” Obama said at Hyde Park Academy, where the teenagers are in school. “I had issues too when I was their age. I just had an environment that was a little more forgiving.”

Speaking of the economic struggles and broken homes that he identified as the root causes, Obama talked about his own experiences as a young African-American man, causing trouble and, later, trying to affect change on the streets here.

“Don’t get me wrong, as the son of a single mom … I turned out OK … but at the same time I wish I had a father who was involved, around,” Obama said.

Colorado government may force gun company out of the state

Colorado government may force gun company out of the state

The Democratic-controlled Colorado House of Representatives gave early approval to a bill limiting ammunition magazines to 15 rounds on a voice vote Friday, despite threats by at least two companies to close shop and move to a more gun-friendly state.

One of those companies, Magpul, makes 30-round magazines for sale to military customers, as well as other equipment for assault rifles. Alfred Manufacturing, a third-generation Colorado company, also said it would relocate if the bill becomes law.

The bill specifically exempts magazine manufacturers and their employees from prosecution, but Magpul Chief Operating Officer Doug Smith has said the company will move out of Colorado on general principle. Magpul employs about 600 people.

The state House of Representatives will officially vote on this and other gun control bills on Monday. Vice President Joe Biden, who is vacationing in Colorado this weekend, called Democratic lawmakers and encouraged them to stick to their guns, according to FOX31 Denver.

During hours-long debate Friday, some in the Republican minority thought that the threat of losing jobs might make some Democrats think twice about passing a bill that even some of its supporters admitted wasn’t perfect and may not curtail gun violence.

“The issue here is not the size of the magazine,” said Republican Rep. Jim Wilson. “This issue is the Democrats trying to pass something in the heat of battle.”

Although bill sponsor Democratic Rep. Rhonda Fields spoke passionately about how the ban would save lives — “I firmly believe that high capacity magazine clips have no purpose except in a theater of warfare,” she said — other Democrats conceded that the measure bordered on symbolic.

Democratic Rep. Lois Court said that one purpose of passing laws was to make a statement about “what kind of society we believe ourselves to be.”

She said that the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School was the last straw for people looking for stricter gun control laws and she compared it to the 1963 Birmingham church bombing that killed four young girls, a tipping point in the civil rights debate.

“[Sandy Hook] was one of those galvanizing historical moments,” she said. “That’s what this is about.”

Democratic Rep. Sue Schafer made similar comments in urging a yes vote on the bill, but used the 2012 theater shootings in Aurora as her point of reference, calling it a “wake-up call.”

The bill, she said, is “not perfect, but it’s something a little bit better than what we have now.”

Democratic Rep. Claire Levy called the bill a “constructive first step,” and urged its passage even while conceding that it wouldn’t end gun violence.

“High-capacity magazines have the potential to cause a massive amount of death in a very short period of time,” she said. “We need to do something, and this is the right thing to do.”

Not all Democrats voted for the bill. Rep. Edward Vigil, a Democrat who represents a rural district in southern Colorado, said he didn’t relish breaking from his party on this issue, but that he is a longtime supporter of Second Amendment issues.

“It’s difficult not to go home with those you dance with, if you know what I mean,” he said. “But some of us in rural Colorado that have constituents with rural values and who believe that (such a ban is) a slippery slope, have to be cognizant of that.”

Republicans pulled out all the stops in arguing against the ban, citing everything from mental illness to a “pill-popping society” for causing horrific violence, and calling it an unenforceable feel-good proposal that limits law-abiding citizens’ ability to defend themselves while doing nothing to curb gun violence. One lawmaker even amended the age-old argument that “guns don’t kill people” by noting that magazines themselves have never killed anyone.

Wild Thing's comment...............

It is such a totally weak argument to say that guns kill people, as though the gun walks out the door and looks for people to shoot. The left sure hates to blame the bad guy for the murders we have seen happen. They will go to any lengths to try and force their control agenda on Americans.

Because Of OBAMA......Americans Continue to Renounce Citizenship Over High Taxes

Americans Continue to Renounce Citizenship Over High Taxes

Due to US tax rates, the number of Americans who ditched the U.S. in 2011 was seven times higher than those who left in 2008.

Each year, thousands of Americans pack their suitcases, rip up their U.S. passports and move permanently overseas to prevent Uncle Sam from taking their money.

In the first three quarters of 2012, more than 1,100 Americans renounced their citizenship and made their homes elsewhere, according to the Federal Register.

Available data does not yet include those who left in the fourth quarter, but it is on track to surpass the 1,781 Americans who relinquished their passports in 2011. And the number of Americans who ditched the U.S. in 2011 was seven times higher than those who left in 2008.

With 6 million U.S. citizens living abroad and continuing to pay U.S. taxes, expatriates increasingly abandon their citizenship for the sake of saving cash. The U.S. is the only industrialized country that requires its overseas citizens to pay income taxes – even if their income is generated abroad.

And for wealthy expatriates, the financial consequences of remaining a U.S. citizen are most severe. Individuals earning more than $400,000 a year and married couples earning more than $450,000 a year will be paying an income tax rate of 39.6 percent – which is up from last year’s rate of 35 percent.

Those who earn more than $1 million annually will pay Uncle Sam about $170,341 more this fiscal year, according to the Tax Policy Center. Those who fear losing their savings frequently move to countries that do not tax their incomes.

One third of all billionaires that moved from the U.S. to another country chose to go to ‘tax havens’ such as Switzerland, Bahamas, and Singapore, according to a 2012 study by the Research Institute of Industrial Economics.

While those who forgo their citizenship will lose protection from the U.S. government and could face difficulty in visiting the U.S., expatriates increasingly consider it worth it - including high-profile celebrities like 73-year-old American-born singer Tina Turner and Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin.

Turner, who is worth an estimated $200 million, in January became a Swiss citizen and ditched her U.S. citizenship. Saverin, whose net worth is an estimated $2.2 billion, holds Brazilian citizenship and lives in Singapore. Bloomberg estimates that the Facebook co-founder saved at least $67 million in federal income taxes by cutting his ties to the U.S.

But while the rich and famous make headlines for escaping the IRS’ grip on their finances, all American expatriates are subject to U.S. taxes and are required by law to file estimated taxes and income, estate and gift tax returns. Some lawmakers are even trying to subject Americans to taxes even after giving up their citizenship. Sens. Charles Schumer and Bob Casey last year suggested that Congress vote for a law that would force former U.S. citizens to pay taxes for years after renouncing their citizenship - as well as ban them from ever returning to the U.S.

But in the short-term, ditching the U.S. comes with its own financial penalties: Americans renouncing citizenship are required to pay an often-hefty exit fee. Those whose net worth is more than $2 million or whose annual income tax average is more than $145,000 are required to pay a 15 percent tax on capital gains above $641,000 and taxes on other assets including retirement accounts at the income rate of 39.6 percent.

As the only country to tax its citizens abroad, the U.S. is pushing thousands of its citizens away.

“If you don’t mind where you live and the tax becomes excessive, then leaving might be a good choice,” Nigel Green, CEO of deVere Group, told Yahoo! Finance. “Countries have less of a hold on people. Governments have to raise more taxes, but they can’t go too far.”

Obama's State of the Union lowest-rated since 2000

Politico

33.5 million Americans watched President Obama's State of the Union address , the lowest turnout since President Bill Clinton's final State of the Union address in 2000, according to newly released Nielsen ratings.

Obama's totals also marked a significant decline from the first second-term addresses of his predecessors. President George W. Bush's first second-term State of the Union address, in Feb. 2005, drew 39.4 million viewers. President Clinton's first second-term address, in Jan. 1997, drew 41.1 million.

In general, viewership for Obama's State of the Union addresses has been in constant decline. He drew 52.4 million in 2009, 48.0 million in 2010, 42.8 million in 2011 and 37.8 million in 2012. His 2013 address was the second-lowest rated since Nielsen began recording viewership in 1993.

A meteor strike over a Russian city has blown out windows and has injured many, various reports indicate

From Russia Today........A series of explosions in the skies of Russia's Urals region, reportedly caused by a meteor shower, has sparked panic in three major cities. Witnesses said that houses shuddered, windows were blown out and cellphones stopped working.

A meteor strike over a Russian city has blown out windows and has injured many, various reports indicate.

MOSCOW (AP) — Fragments of at least one meteorite fell in the Chelyabinsk region some 1,500 kilometers (930 miles) east of Moscow, causing flashes in the morning sky and sharp explosions, Russian officials said Friday.

The office of the governor of the region in the Ural Mountains said in a statement that many calls about injuries and damage to buildings had been received. But there were no immediate confirmed figures or specific reports on damage.

Reports conflicted on the event: A spokeswoman for Russia's Emergency Ministry, Irina Rossius, told The Associated Press that there was a meteor shower, but another ministry spokeswoman, Elena Smirnikh, was quoted by the Interfax news agency as saying it was a single meteorite.

The ministry said some fragments fell near the town of Satka, about 200 kilometers (120 miles) from the regional capital city of Chelyabinsk.

From the NY Times

MOSCOW (AP) — A meteor streaked across the sky above Russia's Ural Mountains on Friday morning, causing sharp explosions and reportedly injuring around 100 people, including many hurt by broken glass.

Fragments of the meteor fell in a thinly populated area of the Chelyabinsk region, the Emergency Ministry said in a statement.

Interior Ministry spokesman Vadim Kolesnikov said 102 people had called for medical assistance following the incident, mostly for treatment of injuries from glass broken by the explosions.

Kolsenikov also said about 600 square meters (6000 square feet) of a roof at a zinc factory had collapsed.

Reports conflicted on what exactly happened in the clear skies. A spokeswoman for the Emergency Ministry, Irina Rossius, told The Associated Press that there was a meteor shower, but another ministry spokeswoman, Elena Smirnikh, was quoted by the Interfax news agency as saying it was a single meteorite.

Amateur video broadcast on Russian television showed an object speeding across the sky about 9:20 a.m. local time (0320 GMT), leaving a thick white contrail and an intense flash.

Benghazi Butcher Obama....made no phone calls on night of Benghazi attack, White House says

Obama made no phone calls on night of Benghazi attack, White House says

Washington Times

President Obama didn’t make any phone calls the night of the Sept. 11 attacks on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, the White House said in a letter to Congress released Thursday.

“During the entire attack, the president of the United States never picked up the phone to put the weight of his office in the mix,” said Sen. Lindsey Graham, South Carolina Republican, who had held up Mr. Obama’s defense secretary nominee to force the information to be released.

Mr. Graham said that if Mr. Obama had picked up the phone, at least two of the Americans killed in the attacks on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi might still be alive because he might have been able to push U.S. aid to get to the scene faster.

The White House has said Mr. Obama was kept up to date on the attack by his staff, though after being alerted to the attack in a pre-scheduled afternoon meeting he never spoke again with Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Martin E. Dempsey or then-Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Mr. Panetta told Congress last week that he knew immediately the attacks were a terrorist assault, though the White House downplayed that notion in the first five days after the attack.

Republican senators said they will still push for more information on who changed the talking points given to U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice, who went on the Sunday talk shows after the attacks and blamed protests against an anti-Islam video.

Mr. Graham said he will block the president’s nominee to head the CIA until he hears more details about what Mr. Obama was doing.

Sen. John McCain said the White House’s reticence in releasing information contrasts poorly with the flood of details the White House put out about the raid that killed Osama bin Laden, which has spawned two movies.

“We still don’t know what the president of the United States was doing the night of the attack and who he was talking to. We know who he wasn’t talking to,” Mr. McCain said.

Wild Thing's comment.................

Obama has blood on his hands and he should never be allowed to get away with how he did nothing to help the 4 Americans that were killed and has made it worse by his lies since then.

Insane Pelosi: Congressional Pay Cut Undermines “Dignity Of The Job”

Pelosi: Congressional Pay Cut Undermines “Dignity Of The Job”

The Hill

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Thursday that she opposes a cut in congressional pay because it would diminish the dignity of lawmakers’ jobs.

“I don’t think we should do it; I think we should respect the work we do,” Pelosi told reporters in the Capitol. “I think it’s necessary for us to have the dignity of the job that we have rewarded.”

The comments were made in the context of the looming sequester, which would force across-the-board cuts affecting most federal offices, including Congress. With lawmakers nowhere near a deal to avert those cuts, federal agencies are bracing for ways to absorb them with minimum damage to programs and personnel.

Pelosi, whose husband is a wealthy real-estate developer, was quick to note that a cut in her own pay would be far less significant than that for both staffers and less wealthy members of Congress.

“It’s a hard question to ask me because most of my colleagues are the breadwinners in their families,” she said. “A pay cut to me doesn’t mean as much.”

Idiot Liberal Female Professor tells her class they cannot use FOX news

Lib West Virginia Prof Tells Students They Can’t Use FOX News in Her Class

West Virginia professor Stephanie Wolfe told her class not to use FOX News in her class.

WTOV9

Students and parents are questioning a college professor after she reportedly issued a syllabus that filtered student’s research options

The syllabus tells students in a West Liberty University political science course what sources they can and cannot use.

Among those students are asked not to use are The Onion, an openly fictitious parody of real-life news, and Fox News, a professional news organization.

In the syllabus, the professor allegedly says, “The tagline Fox News makes me cringe.”

“One of our values at West Liberty is to encourage students to go out and inquire and gather information and look at as many different sources as possible on any side, before you reach your opinion,” said Robin Capehart, president of West Liberty University.

Upset students and parents have taken their concerns to local media, like NEWS9’s news partner Dave Bloomquist at WWVA, who shared an email from a concerned parent with us.

Happy Valentines Day.....Love you all!!

Another Valentine's Day approaches,
and hundreds of thousands of United States soldiers
will be far away from their loved ones,
unable to share an affectionate embrace,
a romantic candlelight dinner,
a box of chocolates or a bouquet of flowers.

Valentines Day is about showing the ones you love
just how much they mean to you,
and no one knows this better
than friends and families of troops overseas.

So to all our Military, and their families,
to all the Veterans,
and to all of you that are friends of
Theodore's World blog........

I wish you all
a special Valentines Day!
Thank you for being in our lives and
to the troops, thank you for all you do
and for serving our country.
Thank you for our freedom!

Liberal Dem Senators To Introduce “Comprehensive” Global Warming Bill, Would Tax Carbon Emissions

Liberal Dem Senators To Introduce “Comprehensive” Global Warming Bill, Would Tax Carbon Emissions

Daily Caller

Liberal senators are helping President Barack Obama make good on his plan to address climate change during his second term, and are set to announce comprehensive legislation on the topic later this week.

Democratic Sens. Bernie Sanders and Barbara Boxer will hold a news conference on Thursday to announce new legislation that would put a fee on carbon dioxide emissions to help fund green-energy projects such as wind, solar, geothermal, and biomass.

The legislation would also compensate consumers for higher energy bills.

In his State of the Union address on Tuesday night, President Obama threatened to use his executive authority if Congress failed to act on climate change.

Obama's CIA Has “Flatly Refused” to Give Up Benghazi-Related Documents

CIA Has “Flatly Refused” to Give Up Benghazi-Related Documents

Senator Raymond Burr says Obama CIA has “flatly refused” to give the senate some Benghazi-related documents.
Obama was first briefed about the Benghazi attacks three hours after it began when he met with his staff for a previously planned meeting. That was it. He never followed up. He was AWOL and four Americans including the Libyan ambassador were slaughtered.

And now the CIA doesn’t want to turn over all of the Benghazi document.

CNS News

Sen. Richard Burr, a member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, said that the CIA has “flatly refused” to give some Benghazi-related documents to the committee, which is conducting an investigation of the Sept. 11, 2012 terrorist attacks on the State Department and CIA personnel and facilities in Benghazi, Libya.

Sen. Burr made the assertion last week at the confirmation hearing for John Brennan, whom President Barack Obama has nominated to be director of the CIA. Brennan currently serves as the president’s counterterrorism adviser.

“Mr. Brennan, as you know, the committee’s conducting a thorough inquiry into the attacks in Benghazi, Libya,” Sen. Burr said. “In the course of this investigation, the CIA has repeatedly delayed and in some cases flatly refused to provide documents to this committee.”

Good grief Go Away!!! Another Vacation: Obama Heading to Florida For Weekend Getaway

Another? They (the entire family) just got back from Hawaii in the first days of January. Remember after the vote on the fiscal cliff? It was the day before Christmas Eve. Obama left the WH within 2 hours of the agreement and returned to Hawaii after coming back to D.C. for the negotiations.

(USATODAY)

President Obama is heading on Friday to Florida for a weekend getaway with friends, an administration official confirmed.

The White House announced earlier on Wednesday that Obama was travelling on Air Force One to the West Palm Beach area on Friday evening, but offered no details on the visit. But the official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because details of the trip have not been officially announced, said that Obama will be spending President Day’s weekend with friends in South Florida.

The trip to Florida comes after a busy stretch for the president, who delivered his State of the Union Address on Tuesday. He traveled to Asheville, N.C. on Wednesday to tout his plan to bolster manufacturing, and he will continue his public push for his domestic policy agenda in the Atlanta area on Thursday and Chicago on Friday afternoon.

North Korea says it has conducted a 3rd nuclear test

North Korea says it has conducted a 3rd nuclear test

FOX NEWS REPORTS North Korea successfully detonated a miniaturized nuclear device at a northeastern test site Tuesday, state media said, defying U.N. Security Council orders to shut down atomic activity or face more sanctions and international isolation.

The underground explosion could take North Korea a big step closer to its goal of building a nuclear warhead small enough to be mounted on a long-range missile that could threaten the United States.

Official state media said the test was conducted in a safe manner and is aimed at coping with "outrageous" U.S. hostility that "violently" undermines the North's peaceful, sovereign rights to launch satellites. North Korea faced sanctions after a December launch of a rocket the U.N. and Washington called a cover for a banned missile test.

The North said it used a "lighter, miniaturized atomic bomb" that still has more explosive force than past tests.

The United States Geological Survey said earlier Tuesday that it had detected a 4.9 magnitude earthquake in North Korea.

The nuclear test is North Korea's first since leader Kim Jong Un took power in December 2011 following the death of his father, Kim Jong Il, and marks a bold statement for the young leader as he unveils his domestic and foreign policy for a country long estranged from the West.

Experts say regular tests are needed to perfect North Korea's goal of building nuclear warheads small enough to be placed on long-range missiles. This atomic test -- North Korea's third since 2006 -- is expected to take Pyongyang closer to possessing nuclear-tipped missiles designed to strike the United States.

Dr. Ben Carson On Criticizing Obamacare: “Somebody Has To Stand Up To The Bullies”

Dr. Ben Carson On Criticizing Obamacare: “Somebody Has To Stand Up To The Bullies”

DR. BENJAMIN CARSON: There are a group of people who would like to silence everybody and have everybody go along to get along, but that's not going to be very helpful for us in the long run, in terms of solving our problems. And somebody has to be courageous enough to actually stand up to, you know, the bullies.

DR. CARSON: One of the things I also said during the speech is there will be some people who will say, 'but you’re a doctor and you’re a surgeon, you should be sticking to that.' And I mentioned the fact that five physicians signed the Declaration of Independence and were involved in the framing of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights and several other things.

There’s absolutely no reason at all that physicians, scientists, shouldn’t be involved in things that affect all of us. We’re people who've learned how to make decisions based on facts, empirical data, rather than on ideology, and one of the geniuses, one of the real things that made us a great nation, is that we brought people from all backgrounds into the legislative process. So that all of us would be able to place our interests there and we've gone significantly away from that.

And no one goes up to a lawyer and says why are you getting involved in this, that and the other thing. I don't see why they would say it to a physician, who has more education than anyone else in society.

DR. CARSON: There’s no question that [President Obama] has advocated, you know, basically a policy of tax the rich. And I have advocated a policy that comes from the Bible, which is a very fair policy of proportional taxation. If it was good enough for God, why wouldn’t it be good enough for us? The minute you deviate away from that, you begin to get into all kinds of biases. And one could legitimately make the argument that the rich pays too many taxes. The top 1% pays 37% of the taxes, the top 5% [pays] 59% of the taxes, but they don't make that much of the income. One could make that argument.

NEIL CAVUTO, FOX NEWS: Obviously, you got a quite a round of applause there. Some in that room and elsewhere since that video has gone viral have said you should run for president. What do you think of that?

DR. BENJAMIN CARSON: Well, actually I've had people tell me that for many years now. If I had a nickel for everybody who told me that, I could finance my campaign.

CAVUTO: You and me both. You and me both. Your reaction to that is what? I mean, you don't think that's for you? You want to be a doctor and help people, what?

DR. CARSON: I've always said if God grabs me by the collar and sticks me in that arena, that's the only way that I'll do it. But, no, I'm actually going to retire in June from surgery. I will still teach, I will still be involved, but I'm going to retire from surgery, so it does open up a lot of possibilities for me. I'm very focused on education and getting the populace back to where it used to be -- like back in 1831 when Alexis de Tocqueville was so impressed -- because an uneducated populace will fall for anything.

And if you and you talk to most people, they mean well but they don't have much of a breadth of education, of knowledge, of understanding of what the real issues are and, therefore, they listen to pundits on television who tell them what they're supposed to think and they keep repeating that and pretty soon they say, 'Oh, well that must be true.' Obama classmate: There is a reason Obama refuses to release his college records

Obama classmate: There is a reason Obama refuses to release his college records

An Obama classmate from Columbia University called him out this week for stirring up a bogus smear campaign against Romney over his taxes, insisting that Obama's motive is not only to distract voters from the worst economic recovery in post-WWII history, but also to avoid a far more scandalous and devastating skeleton Obama has hiding in his own closet...buried deep inside those college records he still refuses to unseal (and has paid millions to keep under lock and key).

From Wayne Allyn Root...........

"If anyone should have questions about Obama’s record at Columbia University, it’s me. We both graduated (according to Obama) Columbia University, Class of ’83. We were both (according to Obama) Pre-Law and Political Science majors. And I thought I knew most everyone at Columbia. I certainly thought I’d heard of all of my fellow Political Science majors. But not Obama (or as he was known then- Barry Soetoro). I never met him. Never saw him. Never even heard of him. And none of the classmates that I knew at Columbia have ever met him, saw him, or heard of him.

But don’t take my word for it. The Wall Street Journal reported in 2008 that Fox News randomly called 400 of our Columbia classmates and never found one who had ever met Obama."

In other words, Obama is going to great lengths to prevent the release of his records from a school that no one remembers him attending (which means he either completely lied about graduating there or failed a lot of classes, which would prevent him from getting financial aid) and that he had no means of paying for at the time.

Root adds:

If you could unseal Obama’s Columbia University records I believe you’d find that:

A) He rarely ever attended class.

B) His grades were not those typical of what we understand it takes to get into Harvard Law School.

C) He attended Columbia as a foreign exchange student.

D) He paid little for either undergraduate college or Harvard Law School because of foreign aid and scholarships given to a poor foreign students like this kid Barry Soetoro from Indonesia.

Root suspects that Obama's mother never changed his citizenship back when they returned to the U.S., that the records Obama is so fiercely guarding reveal this beyond question, and that this is the reason Obama cannot allow this conversation to take place...hence all the relentless smearing of Romney as having something to hide in his background.

It's Saul Alinsky 101: Accuse your opponent of what only you are doing, as you are doing it, to create confusion, cloud the issue, and inoculate voters against any evidence of your guilt. It's a lethally-effective Chicago Machine tactic that our "post-partisan" Marxist-in-chief has used repeatedly to personally destroy his opponents.

The media and the democrats would never have allowed Obama to be treated like any other candidate.

Beyond Disgusting Obama Disarmed US Marines at Inaugural Parade

Obama Disarmed US Marines at Inaugural Parade

"Didn’t know the Marines had to take the bolts out of their rifles for the Inaugural,” an email forwarded to Gun Rights Examiner from a United States Marine Corps source observed. “Wonder if someone can explain why [they] would be marching in the inaugural parade with no bolts in their rifles!”

The email linked to a YouTube video of the 57th Presidential Inaugural Parade, embedded in this column, featuring Bravo Company Marines from the Marine Barracks Washington. Sure enough, the observation in the email is confirmed by watching the video, with screen shots provided in the photo and slide show accompanying this article.

This prompted an internet search to see if others had also noticed, and the Blur-Brain blog had.

“The bolts have been removed from the rifles rendering them unable to fire a round,” the post stated. “Apparently Obama’s Secret Service doesn’t trust the USMC. Simply searching each guy to make sure he didn’t have a live round hidden on him wasn’t enough, they had to make sure the guns were inoperable.

Wondering if this may be an inauguration policy of long standing that transcends administrations, Gun Rights Examiner made a cursory search and found something even more curious. In the 2009 Inaugural Parade, the United States Navy marched with rifles that had not been so disabled.

It’s not the first time the Obama Administration disarmed US Marines at an event.

In March 2012, US Marines were told to leave their weapons outside the tent during Leon Panetta’s speech in Afghanistan.

Dick Cheney: Obama Jeopardizing National Security in 2nd Term by Appointing “Second-Rate People” to Key Positions - So True!!!

Dick Cheney: Obama Jeopardizing National Security in 2nd Term by Appointing “Second-Rate People” to Key Positions

CBS News

Former Vice President Dick Cheney said Saturday night that President Barack Obama has jeopardized U.S. national security by nominating substandard candidates for key cabinet posts and by degrading the U.S. military.

“The performance now of Barack Obama as he staffs up the national security team for the second term is dismal,” Cheney said in comments to about 300 members of the Wyoming Republican Party.

Cheney, a Wyoming native, said it was vital to the nation’s national security that “good folks” hold the positions of secretary of state, CIA director and secretary of defense.

“Frankly, what he has appointed are second-rate people,” he said.

John Kerry, the 2004 Democratic presidential nominee, has been confirmed as secretary of state. CIA designate John Brennan and defense secretary nominee Chuck Hagel are still awaiting U.S. Senate confirmation.

Wyoming's two U.S. senators, Mike Enzi and John Barrasso, voted for Kerry's confirmation. Both Enzi and Barrasso gave introductory speeches for Cheney Saturday night.

Cheney said Hagel, a former Nebraska U.S. senator, was chosen because Obama "wants to have a Republican that he can use to take the heat for what he plans to do to the Department of Defense."

He said Obama's plans are to allow severe cuts in U.S. defense spending, which would limit the capability of the U.S. military to respond to future foreign crises well after Obama has left office.

"He is today ... establishing what limitations will be on future presidents," Cheney said.

Cheney noted that the security situation in the Middle East and North Africa has worsened under Obama's watch with Iran actively pursuing nuclear weapons and with turmoil in Egypt, Syria, Mali and elsewhere.

"That part of the world is as dangerous now as it has ever been," he said.

The Obama administration's response has been to pull back U.S. military presence and influence, resulting in rising mistrust of the U.S. from allies such as Israel and Saudi Arabia, he said.

Despite Obama's re-election victory, Cheney said he hopes Republicans can revive their political fortunes by holding to conservative principles.

"I believe we're all going to pull together, work hard, dig in and do what needs to be done," he said.

Cheney, who received a heart transplant about a year ago, appeared fit, although his voice turned hoarse on occasion during his half-hour speech.

Wild Thing's comment.................

Love Cheney! He didn't like Obama from the get go and he still continues to speak out about him.

States Cut Employee Hours Because Of Obamacare- You can thank the IDIOT Obama voters!

States Cut Employee Hours Because Of Obamacare

The costs of Obamacare are not just hitting businesses this year–they are also hitting the government, and public employees as well. Virginia, for example, is about to limit part time employees to 29 hours per week in order to avoid triggering Obamacare’s requirement that employers provide health insurance to those working 30 hours per week or more. The state cannot afford the $110 million annual cost of insurance.

Elsewhere, public institutions are taking similar steps to limit part-time work. In Ohio, Youngstown State University recently announced a 29-hour-per-week part-time limit, and placed employees on notice that they would be fired if they worked more than the maximum. Other public universities are doing the same across the nation, just as their private-sector counterparts are limiting part-time hours to avoid the Obamacare rule.

In addition to limiting part-time hours, many institutions–public and private–are moving employees from full-time to part-time status to avoid Obamacare requirements. Doing so means facing the ire of left-wing institutions such as John Podesta’s Think Progress, which recently castigated a Wendy’s franchise for cutting employees’ hours. Yet there is little most businesses can do–they are merely responding to incentives written into law.

As the economic reality of Obamacare begins to bite, Democrats are uneasy with the legislation they forced through Congress in 2010, and which survived at the Supreme Court only because Chief Justice John Roberts saw fit to rewrite it. At a recent retreat for House Democrats, former President Bill Clinton advised his party to lead the way in pushing for changes to Obamacare, so they could “[p]rove that we were right to do it.”

Most of Obamacare’s provisions only begin taking effect this year and next. The law was written that way intentionally so as to minimize the negative effect on President Obama’s re-election chances. With former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney as the Republican nominee, Obamacare was effectively taken off the table as an election issue, since Romney had passed his own version, complete with individual mandates.

Yet the sluggish economy, which many voters in 2012 still blamed on George W. Bush, is now fully Obama’s responsibility. The president’s second term has already begun with bad economic news: an economic contraction of 0.1%, and a rise in unemployment of 0.1% as well. The mainstream media would still prefer to discuss marginal issues such as climate change, yet millions of ordinary Americans are feeling the economic pinch.

That is especially the case since the end of the payroll tax holiday--an effective tax hike on working Americans that the media largely ignored during the battle over top marginal tax rates during the “fiscal cliff” negotiations. The shift to part-time work, and the limits to part-time hours, that both private and public employees will feel nationwide could also result in political backlash. Small business owners are also feeling pressure to limit employee numbers to avoid the extra health insurance costs imposed by Obamacare.

Rather than dealing with the problem of uninsured part-time workers separately, the legislation overhauls the nation’s entire health insurance system--a system in which 85 percent of Americans were covered, and 80-90 percent were happy with their insurance. The economic cost is certain; the political cost somewhat less so--but neither is positive.

Wild Thing's comment............

We need to not only blame Obama but keep hitting hard the idiots that voted for him. Let them know it is their own fault when they complain and whine.

NAVY Unable to Refuel Carrier Due to Obama's Budget Cuts!!

The aircraft carriers USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69), USS George H.W. Bush (CVN-77), USS Enterprise (CVN-65), USS Harry S. Truman (CVN-75), and USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) are in port at Naval Station Norfolk, Va. US Navy Photo

Navy: Lincoln Refueling Delayed, Will Hurt Carrier Readiness

USNI News

The U.S. Navy will delay the refueling of the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) for an unknown period because of the uncertain fiscal environment due to the ongoing legislative struggle, the service told Congress in a Friday message obtained by USNI News.

Lincoln was scheduled to be moved to Huntington Ingalls Industries’ (HII) Newport News Shipyard later this month to begin the 4-year refueling and complex overhaul (RCOH) of the ship.

“This delay is due to uncertainty in the Fiscal Year 2013 appropriations bill, both in the timing and funding level available for the first full year of the contract,” the message said.
“CVN-72 will remain at Norfolk Naval Base where the ships force personnel will continue to conduct routine maintenance until sufficient funding is received for the initial execution of the RCOH.”

Rep. J. Randy Forbes (R-Va.) chairman of the House Armed Services Seapower subcommittee released a statement denouncing the need for decision.

Forbes called the delay, “another example of how these reckless and irresponsible defense cuts in Washington will have a long-term impact on the Navy’s ability to perform its missions. Not only will the Lincoln be delayed in returning to the Fleet, but this decision will also affect the USS Enterprise (CVN-65) defueling, the USS George Washington (CVN-73) RCOH, and future carrier readiness.”

The move by the navy is the second this week involving funding for carriers. On Wednesday it announced it would delay the deployment of the USS Harry S. Truman (CVN-75) to the Middle East do to the ongoing budget strife bringing the total number of carriers in U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) to one until funding normalizes.

“Canceling and deferring maintenance creates a significant backlog of deferred maintenance and affects future year schedules and cost, as well as future readiness,” said Lt. Courtney Hillson, a Navy spokesperson.
“The fiscal uncertainty created by not having an appropriations bill — and the measures we are forced to take as a result, place significant stress on an already strained force and undermines the stability of a fragile industrial base.”

The delay in the RCOH for the Lincoln translates into a carrier that will be undeployable for the foreseeable future. It is ‘not possible to restore,’ the carrier to active service without the $3.3 billion overhaul, Hillson said.

Under the current Continuing Resolution (CR), the Navy is $1.5 billion short on its accounts. Combined with coming sequestration in March the number grows to $9 billon for FY 2013, according to Navy documents.

The Navy had budgeted $92 million for the Lincoln refueling in its FY 2012 budget.

Each Nimitz-class carrier undergoes a refueling and complete overhaul at the halfway point in its 50-year service life.

HII said the company is, “disappointed with this turn of events,” and said the delay, “is the direct result of the lack of a defense appropriations bill,” HII spokesperson Christie Miller said in a statement.

“This is not a cancellation of the Lincoln’s RCOH at Newport News Shipbuilding,” Miller said.
“We intend to continue our efforts on the ship at the Navy base in Norfolk and will work to make as much progress as possible, as efficiently as possible, prior to its arrival.”

Gen. Dempsey: Automatic Budget Cuts Risk Readiness

Gen. Dempsey: Automatic Budget Cuts Risk Readiness

Newsmax

The automatic budget cuts of about $45 billion the Pentagon faces this fiscal year will fall on readiness of U.S. forces more than on major weapons programs, Army General Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff said on Saturday.

“Some of the stuff in these big procurement accounts are already locked in for this calendar year and you just can’t touch them,” Dempsey told reporters today en route to a change-of- command ceremony in Afghanistan. “That’s why readiness is going to be so dramatically affected this year.”

The automatic reductions in defense and domestic programs, known as sequestration, will take effect March 1 unless Congress and President Barack Obama reach agreement on an alternative plan to reduce federal deficits. Defense programs would be cut by about $45 billion in the seven months remaining in this fiscal year ending Sept. 30 and about $500 billion over a decade.

“We’re just going to have to sweep up every bit of money that is not otherwise locked down,” said Dempsey, who is scheduled to testify to Congress on the cuts next week. “Most of the money you can get at, on such a short timeline, happens to reside in the readiness accounts.”

Readiness includes training for U.S. forces and operations and maintenance funds for war-fighting equipment.

If sequestration stays in effect for a decade, Dempsey said, about one-third of the cuts would be achieved by reducing the size of U.S. forces.

“The other two-thirds will come out of modernization, compensation at some level and readiness,” and major weapons programs would also be affected, he said.

Afghanistan Command

Dempsey traveled to Afghanistan to mark Marine Corps General Joseph Dunford taking command of U.S. and North Atlantic Treaty Organization forces there. He replaces Marine Corps General John Allen, Obama’s nominee to serve as Supreme Allied Commander of NATO and U.S. Forces in Europe.

Allen’s nomination awaits Senate action. It had been on hold until a probe by the Pentagon’s inspector general found no wrongdoing in his e-mail exchanges with a Florida woman.

In addition to sequestration, Dempsey said the Pentagon is absorbing $487 billion over 10 years in reductions from planned spending mandated by the 2011 Budget Control Act as well as reduced funding in a stopgap spending measure that expires March 27 and may be renewed by Congress.

And somebody said to me, “Rush, when it gets down to brass tacks what’s gonna be revealed is, where was Obama?” That’s what they’re trying to massage here. And the way it was explained to me was, the question, was Obama disengaged, meaning could he be found? Action movie star Steven Seagal teams with ‘America’s Toughest Sheriff’ to train armed school posse

PHOENIX — The self-proclaimed “America’s Toughest Sheriff” is joining forces with action movie star Steven Seagal to train volunteer armed posse members to defend Phoenix-area schools against gunmen.

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio announced the controversial plan in the wake of the Connecticut school shooting in December.

The exercise is planned for Saturday at a closed school site. Sheriff’s officers will act as shooters, and 25 teenagers will play the part of students during mock scenarios involving up to three gunmen.

The sheriff’s office says Seagal, best known for his roles in movies such as Above the Law and Under Siege, will lead training on hand-to-hand defence tactics, among other techniques, drawing from his expertise in martial arts.

Arpaio’s office didn’t respond to requests for comment Friday, and Seagal representatives did not return telephone messages from The Associated Press.

Arizona Democratic House Minority Leader Chad Campbell called the plan to use Seagal as an instructor “ludicrous.”

“He’s making a mockery out of it. You’re having a movie actor train people how to protect schools?” Campbell said.

Randy Parraz, president of Citizens for a Better Arizona, also a longtime Arpaio critic, said it’s unfortunate the sheriff, known nationally for his tough stance on illegal immigration, is using the Connecticut shooting to grab headlines.

“We’d like to think he would take something like this much more seriously,” said Parraz.

The patrols were launched at 59 schools in January. The sheriff announced this week he needs more members to continue the patrols, calling for 1,000 additional citizens to step up and volunteer.

The volunteers, dressed in uniforms and driving patrol vehicles, some authorized to carry guns after training, won’t go onto school grounds unless they spot danger, but will instead patrol around the facilities, Arpaio said.

Arpaio says other notable people also have joined his more than 3,000-strong volunteer armed posse, including The Incredible Hulk star Lou Ferrigno and actor Peter Lupus of TV’s Mission: Impossible.

Arpaio has faced criticism and lawsuits claiming that his deputies racially profile Latinos during immigration patrols. Arpaio also made headlines last July when he said that President Barack Obama’s birth certificate, released by the White House, was a fake.

Janitor Fired for Defending the American Flag

Janitor Fired for Defending the American Flag

FOX News

Cesar Zakahi was a janitor in South Dakota before he got in trouble for… defending our nation’s flag?!

He posted the picture on Facebook and complained to the school superintendent, which ultimately got him fired, he says.

Zakahi is a disabled veteran and was angry with how the flag was being handled by a fellow janitor. He said, “She would take the flag down [...] bundle it up in her arms, go into the boiler room, roll the South Dakota flag and the United States flag up in a bundle and throw it on top of a boiler.”

Zakahi told Fox & Friends'" Steve Doocy that from the beginning, he showed her how to fold it properly, but she said it “was too much of a bother” to do it that way.

After showing his boss the pictures and a video of what was happening, he got a call from the superintendent.

“He told me that I had overstepped my bounds as an employee and that I was on probation for work, which I understood, and that I had embarrassed him because he got caught not doing his job,” Zakahi said. He believes because this superintendent was retiring in three months that he was just trying to “sweep [this incident] under the rug.”

Martin Luther King’s Niece: Obama Is Aiding And Abetting Abortion Genocide Of African-American Community

Martin Luther King’s Niece: Obama Is Aiding And Abetting Abortion Genocide Of African-American Community

Life News

Alveda King, a pro-life advocate who is Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s niece, says she found it ironic that President Barack Obama conducted his swearing in on her uncle’s Bible.

Given that she says he would oppose abortion and Obama has a lengthy pro-abortion record, King yesterday released a statement on the swearing-in:

“When President Barack Obama was inaugurated on January 21—Martin Luther King, Jr. Day—he placed his hand on Bibles once owned by my uncle, Reverend King, and by President Abraham Lincoln, the great emancipator.

The historic struggle for African Americans’ equality under the law was represented at this ceremony by the Holy Scriptures belonging to the man who freed the slaves and the man who led the civil rights movement. The fulfillment of this struggle would be represented by our nation’s first black president.

Unfortunately, the gesture was not symbolic. It was ironic.

Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. believed God’s word. He took his Bible very seriously—so seriously that he repeatedly risked his life to proclaim its message of love for God and love for neighbor. Uncle M.L., like everyone, was far from perfect, but he loved the Lord. It was God’s word that he used to unite a movement and change a nation.

But Obama’s support of abortion, same-sex marriage, and free contraception under his unpopular Obamacare reform is difficult to reconcile with my uncle’s legacy as a man of God.

I had hoped and prayed that when the president handled the Bible, it would accidentally open to where it says “Choose life,” or “God hates the shedding of innocent blood.” I was hoping it would just shake him up a little bit. I don’t know if that happened, but I keep praying that my uncle’s belief in the sanctity of all human life will change our president’s heart. I hope everyone will join me in praying for a change of heart for the president.

Legal abortion has turned into genocide for the African American community. The man with his hand on my Uncle Martin’s Bible is aiding and abetting this terrible injustice.”

General Martin Dempsey, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, appeared to be unaware that then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton testified that she did not see a cable from Ambassador Christopher Stevens in August of 2012 in which the late ambassador warned the consulate in Benghazi was not safe from attack. Cop-Killing Cop on the Run in California Is Leftist & Big Obama Fan

Suspected Mass-Murderer's Manifesto Endorses Hillary, Obama, Gun Control, Elite Media

Chris Dorner, the former-police officer suspected of being behind the murder rampage presently unfolding in Los Angeles, has apparently left behind a manifesto addressed to America that the media’s already selectively reporting on to leave out the more inconvenient portions. You see, there’s no political upside for the media to reveal the politics of this suspected madman.

What’s being reported as Mr. Dorner’s manifesto not only endorses Hillary Clinton for president in 2016 and vigorously defends Barack Obama and the Democrats’ current gun control push, he also savages the NRA’s Wayne LaPierre and expresses all kinds of unabiding for some of the biggest stars in the left-wing media — by name.

Chris Matthews, Joe Scarborough, Pat Harvey, Brian Williams, Soledad Obrien, Wolf Blitzer, Meredith Viera, Tavis Smiley, and Anderson Cooper, keep up the great work and follow Cronkite’s lead. I hold many of you in the same regard as Tom Brokaw and the late Peter Jennings. …

Perry running ads in California encouraging businesses to move to Texas

Texas Republican Gov. Rick Perry is back on the airwaves — this time in California, where he is trying to encourage businesses to relocate to Texas.

In a radio ad that will run all week in California, Perry snubs California’s taxes and regulations on business and touts a better business climate a few states over.

“Building a business is tough, but I hear building a business in California is next to impossible,” Perry says in the ad.

“I have a message for California businesses: Come check out Texas. … See why our low taxes, sensible regulations and fair legal system are just the thing to get your business moving to Texas.”

The ad is running in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Sacramento, Inland Empire and San Diego media markets on six radio stations.

Sean Hannity and Michelle Malkin vs. Juan Williams on the Issue of Obama’s ‘Lies’

Sean Hannity and Michelle Malkin vs. Juan Williams on the Issue of Obama’s ‘Lies’

Fox News host Sean Hannity highlighted President Barack Obama’s “lies” during his show on Wednesday. He began by playing a compilation video of the president pledging not to “take a dime from lobbyists,” promising to cut the deficit in half by the end of his first term and promising to close Guantanamo Bay, among other things.

Obama failed to fulfill any of those promises — and not even his supporters would try to argue otherwise.

Hannity argued that Obama didn’t follow through on additional promises as well, including failing to prevent middle class tax increases (payroll tax hike) and imposing increased health care costs on Americans.

“When it comes to Obamacare, the CBO projects that by 2022, 7 million Americans will not be able to keep their employer insurance program thanks to Obamacare,” Hannity said.

Fox News political analyst Juan Williams defended Obama’s health care law, saying that everyone knew the health care overhaul would be implemented in stages and associated costs are inevitable, just like they were with Social Security and Medicare.

Michelle Malkin was not as easy on the president. In fact, she called the president the “lying liar in chief.”

“Could you spell it out any clearer in all of those soundbites the comparison between what he promised and what people are getting?” Malkin began, adding that even unions are trying to get opt of Obamacare.

Malkin also lamented the payroll tax hikes that hit the middle class.

Happy Birthday President Ronald Reagan - America's Greatest President!!!

Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction

"Our Founding Fathers, here in this country, brought about the only true revolution that has ever taken place in man's history. Every other revolution simply exchanged one set of rulers for another set of rulers. But only here did that little band of men so advanced beyond their time that the world has never seen their like since, evolve the idea that you and I have within ourselves the God-given right and the ability to determine our own destiny. But freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it on to our children in the bloodstream. The only way they can inherit the freedom we have known is if we fight for it, protect it, defend it and then hand it to them with the well thought lessons of how they in their lifetime must do the same. And if you and I don't do this, then you and I may well spend our sunset years telling our children and our children's children what it once was like in America when men were free. Thank you"

Ed Meese: Reagan Could Teach Obama Much About Constitution

With Ronald Reagan’s birthday approaching on Wednesday, Feb. 6, his former Attorney General Edwin Meese shares with Newsmax his remembrances of the 40th president — and says President Obama could learn a lot from the Gipper’s legacy.

Meese headed the Justice Department from 1985 to 1988 and was also a Reagan adviser and member of the National Security Council during the Reagan administration. He currently holds the Ronald Reagan Chair in Public Policy at the Heritage Foundation and is Chairman of Heritage’s Center for Legal and Judicial Studies.

“I remember Ronald Reagan as one of our greatest presidents,” Meese tells Newsmax.

“He was a man of good humor, a great sense of humor, great optimism; a man who led the country successfully out of the depths of a serious recession, one of the most serious economic crises we’ve had since the 1930s; a man who developed a foreign policy that ultimately led to the end of the Cold War; a man who built up our national defense strength and who served the country very well, and that’s why he is regarded by so many of our people as one of the nation’s greatest presidents.”

Asked if he could compare and contrast Reagan’s presidency with that of President Obama.......

Meese responds: “I really can’t because there’s no comparison.”

As for what Obama could learn from Reagan’s legacy
,

Meese observes: “He could learn a lot about the Constitution and following the Constitution. He can learn about having a foreign policy that serves America’s best interests, as well as the interests of peace in the world. He can learn a lot about spending controls and he can learn a lot about having an economic program and a domestic program that follows the precepts of limited government as well as promoting individual liberty and freedom.

“So there’s an awful lot he could learn, but so far he hasn’t indicated any intent to learn.”

Meese also tells Newsmax about Reagan’s widow Nancy Reagan and what she’s doing to keep President Reagan’s legacy alive.

“I’ve spoken with her a few months ago and I’ve kept in touch with the Reagan Library people and her staff. So I keep up on how she’s doing and she’s doing an excellent job of promoting properly the legacy of her husband.

“She has been very active in the work of the presidential foundation, the presidential library. The last time I was actually with her was out there at the library and she’s certainly carried on in excellent fashion in terms of President Reagan’s legacy.”

Wild Thing's comment....................

Thank you Ed Meese. President Reagan was truly the best and greatest president in my lifetime.

Obama’s Deep Contempt For The Rule Of Law

Obama’s Deep Contempt For The Rule Of Law

FOX News

In January, a unanimous Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit held that the president violated the Constitution by making "recess appointments" when the Senate was not, in fact, in recess.

If you think this is just another one of those dry, lawyerly technicalities, think again. One of the Constitution’s essential checks and balances is the requirement of Senate "advice and consent" for presidential appointments. The Recess Appointments Clause of Article II provides a narrow exception to that requirement: the president can fill executive branch vacancies that occur between Congress’s official sessions.

Last year, President Obama became the first president to make “recess appointments” while the Senate was still in session when he appointed three members of the National Labor Relations Board.

In trying to defend Obama’s power grab, the administration revealed its deep contempt for the rule of law. As the DC Circuit’s opinion makes clear, the administration had argued that the president should have the sole, unfettered discretion to determine when the Senate is in "recess," constitutionally speaking. Under this theory, the president could literally wait until the Senate is on a lunch break, and then quickly appoint Chuck Hagel to the Pentagon -- and nobody could second guess him. This assertion was so brazen that a shocked Court of Appeals flatly declared: "This will not do.” The president’s interpretation of the Recess Appointments Clause “would demolish the checks and balances inherent in the advice-and-consent requirement,” said the Court

The president’s attempted end-run around the Constitution should come as no surprise to those of us who have watched the decline of the rule of law these last four years. The president’s first term began, let us recall, with an auto “bailout” that robbed Chrysler bondholders to pay off the United Auto Workers.

When the Supreme Court recognized the free speech rights of corporations in Citizens United v. FEC, Obama first resorted to public humiliation of the justices on national TV. He later prepared an executive order that sought to coerce corporations from making political contributions under pain of forfeiting government contracts. It was only when news of the pending order leaked out that the administration quietly dropped the whole thing.

Under the Constitution, the president’s primary duty in domestic affairs is to “take care that the laws be faithfully executed.” There’s no mystery about this imperative: it does no good for the People’s representatives to enact laws if the executive branch fails to implement the laws. And yet, the president has taken a pick-and-choose approach to this vital duty.

Obama did not like Bill Clinton’s Defense of Marriage Act, for example, so he declared that he wasn’t going to defend it. And he has routinely failed to enforce federal immigration laws; most egregiously in his executive order unilaterally exempting 800,000 illegal immigrants from the scope of federal law. Congress was not consulted. Why bother?

Whereas President Clinton signed landmark legislation to “end welfare as we know it,” President Obama has been exempting states from the law’s workfare requirements, even though the welfare reform law gives him no such power.

As a senator, Obama railed against George W. Bush’s anti-terror wiretapping program. As president, Obama claims the power to kill any person – even US citizens – via drone strikes without congressional authorization.

In 1780, future president John Adams wrote that separation of powers was essential to maintaining “a government of laws and not of men.” As the current Chief Executive asserts dominion over the other two branches, we are in danger of losing our government of laws.

Wild Thing's comment................

Obama deserves to be arrested, thrown in prison and tried for Treason.

Obama’s $5 Billion Electric Car Dream Bankrupt and in Shambles

Obama’s $5 Billion Electric Car Dream Bankrupt and in Shambles

Obama wanted one million electric cars on the streets in America by 2015.

80% of Obama’s green energy loans went to donors – at least 19 companies went bust.

Obama has spent at least $5 billion on electric cars.

Are electric cars running out of juice again?

Recent moves by Japan’s two largest automakers suggest that the electric car, after more than 100 years of development and several brief revivals, still is not ready for prime time – and may never be.

In the meantime, the attention of automotive executives in Asia, Europe and North America is beginning to swing toward an unusual but promising new alternate power source: hydrogen.

The reality is that consumers continue to show little interest in electric vehicles, or EVs, which dominated U.S. streets in the first decade of the 20th century before being displaced by gasoline-powered cars.

Despite the promise of “green” transportation – and despite billions of dollars in investment, most recently by Nissan Motor Co – EVs continue to be plagued by many of the problems that eventually scuttled electrics in the 1910s and more recently in the 1990s. Those include high cost, short driving range and lack of charging stations.

The public’s lack of appetite for battery-powered cars persuaded the Obama administration last week to back away from its aggressive goal to put 1 million electric cars on U.S. roads by 2015.

Wild Thing's comment................

The jerk just keeps throwing away our tax dollars, and also his donations he received for stupid things that are not going to work.

Status of Gun Industry

Status of Gun Industry

by Doug Ross

Attention F.B. fans: to follow will be several IMPORTANT Info updates about the status of the gun industry currently, followed by an INVENTORY UPDATE: We traveled to Texas for Industry meetings concerning the shortages, here's what we were told.

Smith & Wesson-is running at Full capacity making 300+ guns/day-mainly M&P pistols. They are unable to produce any more guns to help with the shortages.

RUGER: Plans to increase from 75% to 100% in the next 90 days.

FNH: Moving from 50% production to 75% by Feb 1st and 100% by March 1. Remington-Maxed out!

Armalite: Maxed out.

DPMS: Can't get enough parts to produce any more product.

COLT: Production runs increasing weekly...bottle necked by Bolt carrier's.

LWRC:Making only black guns, running at full capacity...can't get enough gun quality steel to make barrels.

Springfield Armory: Only company who can meet demand but are running 30-45 days behind.

AMMO: Every caliber is now Allocated! We are looking at a nation wide shortage of all calibers over the next 9 months. All plants are producing as much ammo as possible w/ of 1 BILLION rounds produced weekly. Most is military followed by L.E. and civilians are third in line.

MAGPUL is behind 1 MILLION mags, do not expect any large quantities of magpul anytime soon.

RELOADERS... ALL Remington, Winchester, CCI & Federal primers are going to ammo FIRST. There are no extra's for reloading purposes... it could be 6-9 months before things get caught up. Sorry for the bleak news, but now we know what to expect in the coming months. Stay tuned, we'll keep you posted...

They didn’t know when they’d be getting anything back in stock, from magazines to rifles to pistols. Manufacturers were running full-bore, but couldn’t come close to keeping up with market demand. It wasn’t just the AR-15s, the AK-pattern rifles, the M1As, and the FALs that were sold out. It really hit me when I realized that the World War-era M1 Garands, M1 carbines, and Enfield .303s were gone, along with every last shell. Ubiquitous Mosin-Nagants—of which every gun store always seems to have 10-20—were gone. So was their ammo. Only a dust free space marked their passing. I’ve never seen anything like it.

Every weapon of military utility designed within the past 100+ years was gone. This isn’t a society stocking up on certain guns because they fear they may be banned. This is a society preparing for war.

Barack Obama, Dianne Feinstein and the rest of the Statists have done more to promote gun ownership than the NRA ever did. Well done, Democrats!

Wild Thing's comment...................

IMO the gun industry to do well is good news, I am all for capitalism. This wanting to ban guns any gun is the height of stupidity. The left hates the gun more then the person that committed the murders at these schools etc.

Obama Says More Taxes To Come, He LOVES Spending, Taxing Hard working Americans

Obama: More Taxes To Come, But We’ll Ramp It Up Gradually So Maybe You Wouldn’t Realize What We Are Doing

“There is no doubt we need additional revenue, coupled with smart spending reductions, in order to bring down our deficit,” said Obama. “And we can do it in a gradual way so it doesn’t have a huge impact. As I said, when you look at some of these deductions that certain folks are able to take advantage of, the average person can’t take advantage of them. The average person doesn’t have access to Cayman Island accounts, the average person doesn’t have access to carried interest income where they end up paying a much lower rate on billions of dollars that they’ve earned. And so we want to make sure that the whole system is fair, that it’s transparent, and that we’re reducing our deficit in a way that doesn’t hamper growth, reduce the kinds of — you know, strategies that we need, in order to make sure that we’re creating good jobs and a strong middle class.”

Limp Wristed Manly Challenged Obama Wants a Softer Gentler Football Game

Obama wants a Softer Gentler Football Game

POS Obama was on TV yesterday before the Super Bowl.

Barack Obama said he wanted football to “evolve.”he Washington Times

President Obama provided a bit of pre-Super Bowl buzz-kill Sunday by saying that he believed football needs to make changes in order to reduce concussion risks.

“I want to make sure we’re doing everything we can to keep the sport safer,” said Mr. Obama in a pre-Super Bowl interview with CBS anchor Scott Pelley. “That means the game’s probably going to evolve a little bit.”

The president, who said last month that he would think twice about allowing a son to play football, emphasized that the changes should be made at the youth and college level as opposed to the National Football League, given that NFL players are “grown men, they’re well-compensated, they know the risks that are involved.”

“For those of us who like to see a big hit, and enjoy the rock ‘em, sock ‘em elements of the game, we’re probably going to be occasionally frustrated,” Mr. Obama said.

Defense Secretary Panetta Admits Information from Waterboarding Led US to Bin Laden.

Yesterday on Meet the Press Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta admitted that information gleaned from waterboarded detainees was used to track down al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden and kill him.

“The real story was that in order to put the puzzle of intelligence together that led us to Bin Laden, there were a lot of pieces out there that were a part of that puzzle. Yes, some of it came from some of the tactics that were used at that time, interrogation tactics that were used. But the fact is we put together most of that intelligence without having to resort to that.”

This was not the first time Panetta admitted that enhanced interrogation techniques led the US to Bin Laden

Worst President in US History....Obama Eliminates Cooked Breakfast For Some Troops in Afghanistan, Let Them Eat MREs

Obama Eliminates Breakfast for US Troops in Afghanistan, Stuffs His Own Face

Frontpage magazine

If only American soldiers in Afghanistan were unemployed Democratic voters in Chicago, then they might be getting three square meals a day from the government.

But the military is the one place that Obama feels comfortable slashing expenses. While spending at an uncontrollable rate unseen since the last days of the Roman Empire in every other area, Obama has been cutting “waste” in the military like 20,000 Marines, Tricare healthcare for veterans and breakfast for soldiers serving in areas where he would only venture accompanied by heavy firepower.

Warren Buffett and other crony capitalists can pig out on Obama’s trillion dollar deficits. As for the troops. Let them ear MRE’s.

The Army has stopped serving cooked breakfasts to some of the U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan as part of its drawdown, a move that prompted troops to write home asking their families and friends to send care packages with cereal, breakfast bars and other foods.

The Army told the Washington Guardian the current cutbacks began Jan. 1, and affect about 2,700 soldiers deployed in forward operating bases in more remote areas of Afghanistan.

The Washington Guardian reported earlier this month that the current budget crisis in Congress prompted Deputy Defense Secretary Ashton Carter to write a memo order preparations for sweeping budget cuts across all military programs to begin as early as next month.

Officials stressed other comforts at the forward operating bases may also soon be reduced, such as laundry and recreation, as officials look for other ways to reduce the American footprint in advance of departing the country.

They said the meal cutbacks are currently affecting forward operating bases in more remote areas of Afghanistan and not affecting the main American bases in Kabul and Kandahar.

Exit questions. How many cooked breakfasts for soldiers would Obama’s 20 million dollar Hawaii vacations and the 1.4 billion that his clan’s non-stop partying buy?

While American soldiers go hungry, here is what Obama and his corrupt cronies had for their inaugural lunch.

First Course: Steamed Lobster with New England Clam Chowder Sauce, Sautéed Spinach, Sweet Potato Hay Second Course: Hickory-Grilled Bison with Red Potato Horseradish Cake, Butternut Squash Purée, Baby Golden Beets and Green Beans, Strawberry Preserve and Red Cabbage Third Course: Hudson Valley Apple Pie with Sour Cream Ice Cream, Artisan Cheeses Wines: Tierce Finger Lakes Dry Riesling (2010), Korbel Natural, Special Inaugural Cuvée California Champagne, Bedell Cellars Merlot (2009)

How outrageous – when I was in the US Army – it was a requirement that they provide 3 hot meals a day unless in field. Failure to provide that was grounds for an immediate honorable discharge.

I’m over here in Afghanistan right now and it’s no “crock”. I’m on Bagram and they just stopped hot breakfasts here as of 1 Feb. This isn’t about winning or losing it’s about what the current President is doing against the country he is supposed to support.

Ar’nun

I’m glad I got out when I did. There were two things in Afghanastan worth looking forward to. Going Home, and hot meals. Now the hot meals were not exactly gourmet, but they got you through the day.

Coach

When I ran a mess hall it was stressed to us to do the very best job possible because meals are part of a soliders pay. This is a violation of soliders’ rights. Where is Congress on this?

Effeminate Obama Holds Gun Like He Throws a Baseballs....Girly Man Obama

Barack Obama shoots a gun like he throws a baseball.

An anonymous gun expert, who did not wish to be identified, had this to say about Obama’s shooting style.

“Either the recoil kicked his ass or he doesn’t know to lean into the shot when shooting. He shoots a gun like he throws a baseball. That’s a ported shot gun. (holes – venting – at the end of the barrel. Less recoil.) You port really high power firearms to reduce the kick when fired. It helps with control and is less punishing. The smoke coming out of the top of the barrel lessens the muzzle jump and recoil. It means he’s a panzy. And it still threw him back. It also means he never shoots a gun.”

LOL this is nothing more then a stupid photo to try and say Obama did not lie, but IMO he did lie. He cannot breath without telling lies.

Texas Gov. Perry says Boy Scouts should keep no-gay policy

Texas Gov. Perry says Boy Scouts should keep no-gay policy

AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Gov. Rick Perry said emphatically Saturday that the Boy Scouts of America shouldn't soften its strict no-gays membership policy, and dismissed the idea of bending the organization to the whims of "popular culture."

Perry is an Eagle Scout and in 2008 he authored the book "On My Honor: Why the American Values of the Boy Scouts Are Worth Fighting For." It detailed the governor's deep love for the organization and explained why it should continue to embrace traditional, conservative values -- including excluding openly gay members and Scout leaders.

America's longest-serving governor addressed the Texas Scouts' 64th annual Report to State, where hundreds of Scouts from around Texas filled the state House of Representatives to announce their delegation's recent accomplishments.

Perry has addressed the gathering several times before, most recently in 2010, but not since the announcement that the Scouts' national leadership is mulling scrapping the mandatory exclusion of gay members. Instead, the group could allow different religious and civic groups that sponsor Scout units to decide for themselves how to address the issue -- either maintaining the exclusion or opening up their membership.

Even though the Boy Scouts reaffirmed the no-gays policy just seven months ago, the proposal is expected to be discussed, and possibly voted on, at the meeting of the Scouts' national executive board, which begins Monday in Irving, outside Dallas.

Perry told the youngsters that the Scouts was a key reason he joined the U.S. Air Force and later sought public office, and that society's failure to adhere to the organization's core values was a cause for high rates of teen pregnancy and wayward youth who grow up to be "men joining their fathers in prison."

Speaking to reporters afterward, Perry said: "Hopefully the board will follow their historic position of keeping the Scouts strongly supportive of the values that make Scouting this very important and impactful organization."

"I think most people see absolutely no reason to change the position and neither do I," Perry said. He said his views on the subject haven't changed since writing his book, in which he noted that profits would be donated to the Boy Scouts of America Legal Defense since "they continue to be under attack from the forces of secularism."

Asked if he would feel different about the Scouts if the policy is changed, Perry wouldn't say. But he added: "to have popular culture impact 100 years of their standards is inappropriate."

He also disagreed that allowing members of all sexual preferences would make the Scouts more tolerant: "I think you get tolerance and diversity every day in Scouting."

Fred Sainz of the Human Rights Campaign, a national gay rights group, said Saturday, "It's a shame that Governor Perry has chosen to be on the wrong side of history."

"Governor Perry and the Boy Scouts are both completely out of touch with where America is going on this issue," he said "There should be one national, non-discrimination policy. We can't quite wrap our heads around why that is so difficult to do in 2013."

Perry wrote in his book that he doesn't "believe the teaching of sexual preference fits within the parameters of Scouting's mission," but also made it very clear he'd like to keep gay members from joining.

"Because gay activism is central to their lives, it would unavoidably be a topic of conversation within a Scout troop. This would distract from the mission of Scouting: character building, not sex education," he wrote.

Perry also questioned whether sexual preference is determined at birth or is a matter of personal choice in his book, and wrote that he doesn't believe in "condemning homosexuals that I know personally."

Zach Wahls is an Eagle Scout raised in Iowa by two lesbian moms who has become a leading activist against the no-gays policy. Wahls said by phone Saturday he believes national Scout leaders will soften the membership policy next week, and he hopes the move won't make Perry won't turn his back on the Scouts.

"We've been called bullies and had people say `you're imposing your will,"' he said. "Our organization isn't calling for the removal of anybody who disagrees with us. We support fully inclusive Scouting."

I agree with Rick Perry.

Stupid School!!!! High School Student Suspended For Having A Picture Of A Gun On His Laptop

High School Student Suspended For Having A Picture Of A Gun On His Laptop

Yet another student has been suspended for having something that represents a gun, but isn’t actually anything like a real gun.

This time, Daniel McClaine, Jr., a freshman at Poston Butte High School in Tan Valley, Arizona, made the mistake of setting a picture of a gun as the desktop background on his school-issued computer.

The picture shows an AK-47 lying on a flag, reports KNXV-TV. The gun isn’t his, McClaine assured the ABC affiliate in Phoenix. He found it on the Internet and liked it, partly because he is interested in serving in the military after graduation.

A teacher reportedly ratted McClaine out after noticing the Soviet-era rifle on the computer. McClaine originally received a three-day suspension.

After McClaine’s father contacted the local press, Florence Unified School District officials suddenly decided that the younger McClaine could return to school on Monday.

District policy states that students cannot use school-issued laptops to send or display “offensive messages or pictures,” explains KNXV. Students also cannot use them to produce, retrieve, send or forward images that are considered “harassing, threatening or illegal.”

It’s not clear who determines what is “offensive” or “threatening,” or the basis upon which the determination was made in this case.

McClaine maintained that he read the guidelines but did not think that a picture of a gun could threaten or offend anyone.

“This gun wallpaper does not show anything that’s violent. It’s not showing anybody getting shot in any way,” the suspended freshman told the station. “It’s just a picture of a gun. It’s nothing — nobody getting shot, nobody getting it pointed at them. It’s nothing.”

“He should have got a warning,” Daniel McClaine, Sr. told KNXV. “He shouldn’t have ever been suspended. Not for something so frivolous.”

In a statement, Dana Hawman, a spokesperson for the Florence Unified School District, provided some insight into the reaction by school officials.

“Although we cannot specifically discuss student discipline, we can certainly agree that violence in schools is a sensitive and timely issue,” the statement read. “Students, parents and staff are on edge, and the daily news delivers more reasons for caution. All of us must work together to protect our kids and to cultivate an environment that is conducive to learning.”

This incident is the latest in a growing line of extraordinarily strong reactions by school officials to things students have brought to school — or talked about bringing to school — that are not anything like real guns.

New York Goes After Law Abiding Decorated Combat Veteran

Crackdown: New York Gets Dangerous Decorated Combat Veteran Off the Streets

Nathan Haddad is a highly decorated combat veteran who was medically discharged from the army after 12 years of dedicated service. Now however, Haddad stands accused of violating New York state penal Code – Section 265.02 – which prohibits the possession of ”a large capacity ammunition feeding device”. He has been charged with five counts of third degree criminal possession of a weapon, for having 30 round AR-15 Magazines in his vehicle.

The magazines were empty.

Haddad now has to wage a legal battle to try and reduce the charges, or face years in prsion.

On Sunday January 6th Staff Sgt. Nathan Haddad, a decorated combat veteran, was driving through Jefferson County New York when he was randomly pulled over for a vehicle check. Haddad, who had five 30 round empty magazines in his possession, was arrested by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department and charged with five felony counts.

According to Haddad’s brother, Michael Haddad, Nathan thought these magazines were legally made before the New York Assault Weapons Ban. When Nathan Haddad was arrested the new ban had not even been fully enacted yet.

This is not a criminal, this is not some thug looking to hurt people; this is a decorated combat veteran who was recently honored by the Philadelphia chapter of Blue Star Mothers and the Union League’s Armed Services Council for helping disabled vets get back on their feet.

Haddad’s brother has set up a legal defense fund, and says:

My brother, Nathan Haddad, is not only a decorated combat veteran, but models the character qualities that make him the kind of man who goes out of his way to help his fellow man and other veterans. He would not knowingly do anything against the law, compromise his faith and deeply rooted principles, or jeopardize his rights guaranteed by our Constitution.

My brother was medically discharged after 12 years of service and does not have the funds necessary needed for Attorney fees, and unless he has adequate defense and gets his charges reduced, he is not going to get the same treatment that David Gregory, a rich, white, liberal, media mogul got. This is a travesty!

Duane Lester of Liberty News adds: ”Good thing we got this guy off the streets, huh? Otherwise, there might be some more disabled veterans all providing for themselves and stuff. Sickening.”

Obama LOVES to spend Tax Payers Money....Obama To Get Second Oval Office

Obama To Get Second Oval Office

his summer there will be two Oval Offices in the White House complex, and it won’t be a case of double vision.

In preparation for a major, two-year renovation of the West Wing, the government is undertaking extensive work to complete a new executive office for President Obama at the south end of the adjacent Eisenhower Executive Office Building, RCP has learned.

The president’s facsimile Oval Office, created as a nearly identical replica of the most famous ovoid room in the world, is slated to be ready for occupancy by August if Obama is ready to move and if design challenges are resolved. The build-out of the new “West Wing quarters” inside the Eisenhower building has begun, but unforeseen construction hurdles may alter plans for the eventual placement of the new office inside the EEOB, according to several knowledgeable sources.

The timing of Obama’s move to a substitute executive suite is in part dependent on the president’s readiness to begin working in the temporary quarters for what could be as long as two years, sources told RCP. The West Wing phase of a larger, $376 million project begun in September 2010 was put on pause through last year’s election, although funding and contracts were ready, the sources said. If Mitt Romney had won in November, Obama would have handed decisions about whether and how to proceed with the rehab project to his successor, they added.

America's Enemy Obama Delays Keystone Pipeline Decision For Another 6 Months

Obama Delays Keystone Pipeline Decision For Another 6 Months

The Obama administration’s decision on the Keystone XL oil pipeline will not be made until at least June, a U.S. official said, which would delay the project for months and frustrate backers of Canada’s oil sands.

“We’re talking the beginning of summer at the earliest,” said the source, who did not want to be identified due to the sensitive nature of the TransCanada Corp project, which has been pending for more than four and a half years. “It’s not weeks until the final decision. It’s months.”

A series of steps still have to be taken by the State Department, where the decision will be made because the 830,000 barrels per day crude oil pipeline crosses the national border. The pipeline will link Alberta’s oil sands and North Dakota’s Bakken shale fields to refineries and ports in Texas.

The State Department did not comment for this story, but last week a spokeswoman said it did not anticipate making the decision before the end of March. Previously, the department had hinted the decision could come in the middle of the first quarter.

The administration may be delaying because the pipeline has become a symbol for both opponents and supporters of development of Canada’s vast oil sands.

IRS: Cheapest Obamacare Plan Will Be $20,000 Per Family

IRS: Cheapest Obamacare Plan Will Be $20,000 Per Family...

CNSNews

In a final regulation issued Wednesday, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) assumed that under Obamacare the cheapest health insurance plan available in 2016 for a family will cost $20,000 for the year.

Under Obamacare, Americans will be required to buy health insurance or pay a penalty to the IRS.

The IRS's assumption that the cheapest plan for a family will cost $20,000 per year is found in examples the IRS gives to help people understand how to calculate the penalty they will need to pay the government if they do not buy a mandated health plan.

The examples point to families of four and families of five, both of which the IRS expects in its assumptions to pay a minimum of $20,000 per year for a bronze plan.

“The annual national average bronze plan premium for a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 children) is $20,000,” the regulation says.

Bronze will be the lowest tier health-insurance plan available under Obamacare--after Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Under the law, the penalty for not buying health insurance is supposed to be capped at either the annual average Bronze premium, 2.5 percent of taxable income, or $2,085.00 per family in 2016.

In the new final rules published Wednesday, IRS set in law the rules for implementing the penalty Americans must pay if they fail to obey Obamacare's mandate to buy insurance.

To help illustrate these rules, the IRS presented examples of different situations families might find themselves in.
