Government Takes Over, Obama Apologizes

Government takes over, Obama apologizes

Townhall

The Obama administration, completing its first full week, wasted no time getting priorities in order. First, issue formal apologies to the world, and then begin advancing massive, intrusive government at home.

The president chose Arab television, Al Arabiya, to give his first sit down interview. He took the opportunity to confirm the long held Arab view that the real problem is America and President Obama apologized on our behalf.

"...America was not born as a colonial power," he told the Arab viewing audience - implying we are now. And he regretfully confessed that "We sometimes make mistakes. We are not perfect."

Sorry, but weren't we the ones that were attacked? Do we not stand in long lines and disrobe in airports because of them? Does anyone recall anywhere, anytime hearing apologies from any Arab or Muslim leader?

At the annual World Economic Forum meeting in Davos, Switzerland, the president's confidant and advisor Valery Jarrett continued with apologies. This time to the world's business and political movers and shakers.

Ms. Jarrett told the crowd that this economic crisis did not occur by "happenstance" but is the result of our "profound irresponsibility."

And the Europeans, Asians, and Russians couldn't have agreed more.

"Chinese and Russian leaders blamed a free-wheeling U.S. financial system as the source of the global economic crisis," according the Wall Street Journal.

European Commission president Jose Manuel Barraso proclaimed confidently that "President Obama is moving toward a European-style model."

Our new president is a man of action as well as a man of words, so while he and his staff apologized to the world for who we have been, he began the task at home to make us a different country.

Under the pretense of economic stimulus, the president began in earnest his work to nationalize the American economy.

He lobbied all week for a pork-laden spending bill that, according to the Congressional Budget Office, will add another trillion dollars to our national debt, which is rapidly becoming as large as our gross domestic product - the value of all goods and services that Americans produce in one year.

We should be thinking about King Solomon's words in Ecclesiastes that there is "nothing new under the sun."

Nowhere -- anytime or anyplace -- has economic growth and prosperity been created by government taking the money of its own citizens and spending it as it sees fit.

Now, we go beyond taking it from our own citizens and we're taking it from the children and grandchildren of our own citizens.

Aside from the pure waste, government spending for "stimulus" and bailouts prevents and discourages the real adjustments that need to take place.

In an interview last December, Harvard Business School professor Clayton Christensen pointed out that tough and lean times are exactly the environment that produces innovation. According to the professor, "...if you give people a lot of money, it gives them the privilege of pursuing the wrong strategy for a very long time. In an environment where you've got to push innovations out the door fast and keep the cost of innovation low, the probability that you'll be successful is actually much higher."

It's exactly this kind of innovation that we need. And it's exactly what we will not get as we pour trillions of debt-ridden government money -- obligations made on us taxpayers -- into the economy.

Sure there will be beneficiaries. But they're all in Washington or getting money directly from Washington.

At $3.2 billion, lobbying expenditures in 2008 were up 14 percent over 2007. Of the nation's major metropolitan areas of more than 1 million, Washington has the second-lowest unemployment rate in the country. And its average household income is almost 50 percent above the nation's average.

If and when Barack Obama stops genuflecting before an unfree world and remembers that America is about freedom, perhaps our recovery will start.

Wild Thing's comment.......

Excellent article on HO-Bama .

There is nothing like having a president, who blames his own country for everything that's wrong in the world. He’s only getting away with it because the media hates America as much as he does.

....Thank you Mark for sending this to me.

Are his ears getting bigger or what ? One more size and he won't need Air Force 1, he can fly on his own.

The message he sent with HIS apology tells the world, especially the terrorists is one of weakness. We are lowering our guard and will be susceptable to attack. and will continue to be susceptable until that part of the country that voted for him, wakes up.

That apologetics speech to appease Ahab El Kaboom was the last straw that broke this conservative camel's back! Obambi is no longer my U.S. president. He is treasonous and must be... viewed in this light. The Jamestown settlement in 1608 was a blessing from God and the Geneva 1599 Bible was read as soon as the landing party hit the banks, after raising the the St. George's Flag on her soil!

But we're the big bad wolf, don'tcha know?
We have to apologize at every turn, even when that turn is against us for NO reason.
For me, I'm tired of being bullied and pushed around by the government. We were founded really by those who had been cast out of other lands because we didn't fit the mold of what was expected of us. Many were so-called criminals and some were persecuted for religious sake. But we survived and somehow, that's just wrong.

The way you get the world to love us is to prostrate yourself before them. One thing Bush wouldn't do and that's bow before the world but Obama will do so with knew pads on.

I don't care if the world like us. All they need to do is fear and respect us.

I'm more than tired of presidents apologizing for America and me. Millions of Iraqis are thanking America for fighting for their freedom, and this goofy assed Obama is apologizing to the Arab world. Well Screw You Obama. We aren't even sure you are a legal US citizen.

Traitor. No further discussion required.

This is why we need a president that understands war and weakness. "O" obviously is clueless on both counts!!! You can bet your sweet "bippy" that the terrorists understand those concepts!!

Patton would probably rephrase one of his famous comments if he were alive today. In "O"'s case, he would say, "Ya.....go ahead and die for your country so your country doesn't have to die for you"!!!!

You don't sell out your own soul or that of your country's just to be PC with the rest of the world!!!! Screw that!!! I agree with BobF and TomR....If the rest of the world doesn't like us ...tough shit!!! We are not in a popularity contest!!!

And screw "O" for thinking he has to apologize to anyone, especially for me!!! HE DOES NOT SPEAK FOR ME!!! We owe no one an apology...except Israel!!! We have stood beside Israel and they beside us in many past conflicts and now this worthless piece of cow dung, masquarading as a president, wants to sell them down the river. God will show no mercy on those that turn on his chosen people!!!

Okay where are our "imperial" territories, the insular areas are far from an "empire" as some "academics" would have you think. The thing about an empire is that the people of one territory are second class and enslaved to the people another. People in Puerto Rico and Guam, they're U.S. Citizens and I for one resent someone calling the U.S. An empire then by association they're calling me an imperialist which I'm not. We're a Constitutional Republic. Constitutional Republics can sustain themselves and prosper on their own merit, Empires can't, end of story.

I swear Allegiance to this Great Country as a Constitutional Republic. nothing more, nothing less.

Lynn, The People of the United States didn't just survive We FLOURISHED.

Barack Obama has not made, and is ill equipped to make, the transition from "candidate" Obama to CEO Obama. His continued need to be liked, adored, and worshipped is an addiction fed by his public hatred for the Constitution, Flag, and country while groveling to the rest of the world and apologizing for all of the evils that we do to them.

The job of President and CIC is one of CEO leadership and skill. Nothing Barack Obama has ever done (successfully or not) in his life nor shows any inclination to do now. So, the country is stuck with a professional campaigner for the next four years who will continue to tell us how great he is while walking on the appeasement of our enemies waters.

We have a long slow slog ahead for the next four years. No one should get too excited just yet.

We just need to back state laws that prevent people who do not submitted their birth certificates ahead of time from getting on ballots of the various states. That will cut out the Obamas.

We should also each put aside $10/week for political contributions. It can also make for an emergancy fund. If you can not find somebody good to give the money to then maybe somebody less bad?

Mark, LOL I know I think this ears were made too big for the graphic.

Hahahahaha Maybe when he lies we can just keep making them bigger each time. Naw then he would end up like dumbo the elephant.

I agree Mark, this is so dangerous to send this kind of message to the entire world.

Darth, thank you so much for sharing abou that. What meaning all of that has to our so very special history. I am so proud of our history not the re-written one but the real live honest one.

Posted by: Wild Thing at February 3, 2009 06:15 PM

Lynn, I agree and also I am tired of it too. Enough is enough and it really should be treason to bash ones own country like Clinton, Carter and now Obama have done.

Posted by: Wild Thing at February 3, 2009 06:20 PM

BobF, exactly and I agree so much..."fear and respect us"

Posted by: Wild Thing at February 3, 2009 06:23 PM

Tom, DITTO all of that.

What he has done is absolutely unforgivable and we will never forget it either.

Posted by: Wild Thing at February 3, 2009 06:25 PM

Glenn Cassel AMH1(AW) USN RET, thatis exactly what he is, a traitor!!!

Posted by: Wild Thing at February 3, 2009 06:27 PM

John, good one!!

Posted by: Wild Thing at February 3, 2009 06:29 PM

JohnE PFC U.S. Army and I am so glad you have done this, I truly appreciate it. Thank God for our military we would have nothing without all of you and all of our Veterans.

Posted by: Wild Thing at February 3, 2009 06:32 PM

Les, I agree so much......"the country is stuck with a professional campaigner".... I was even thinking about this todaty.
Obama missed his calling actually, he should have open his own campaign company and then get paid to know how to promote candidates. I never saw anything like what he did with his campaign, good bad, evil mean stuff the whole thing.

Posted by: Wild Thing at February 3, 2009 06:38 PM

Avitar, I know what you mean, I am pacing muyself. If I get really upset about something Obama has done I will post about it but also try to post something fun or funny as well in another post. Just trying to keep calm for the long haul.
