Bill Clinton Offered Speaking Role At Dem Convention

Just a little walk down memory lane............Bill Clinton on Obama:" Big Fairy Tale" ....(01/08/2008) The former U.S. president rants on Barack Obama's free pass from the press.

msnbc

NBC News has learned that the Obama campaign, in an effort to quiet talk of the Obama-Clinton drama, has offered Bill Clinton a speaking role on Wednesday night at the Democratic convention -- before the vice presidential running mate speaks.

Sources say that Clinton in fact will speak.

The campaign rushed tonight to resolve the issue after network news reports about the Clintons and Obama.

Wild Thing's comment........

I saw Bill Clinton on the news this week and he said he had plenty to say, but not during that interview. Now, I don’t think Bill would have a melt down (publically) at the convention......but there is a what if to it. Remember when Bill Clinton said Barack Obama must 'kiss my ass' for his support. LOL That was just a month ago.

Maybe Bill's gonna be his vp! Yikes! There is nothing that says he can't be vp to someone.
But the Clit-ons will do anything to get that White House back. No one seems to remember, Bubba was impeached (and refused to step down), disbarred and publicly humiliated, but he didn't care! As Cornwallis said in The Patriot--That man INSULTS me!

This is too funny, the DNC is pulling out all the stops, throwing Bill Clinton a 'bone', just to shut him up and Hillary too. Hoping to get the upper hand over the Clintons. They know his ego, but I think they underestimate the power over him Hillary has.

It was an obvious after thought. This only came to light recently that the 'former' President didn't have a speaking role at the convention.

This is major damage control on the part of the DNC. Their claim of unity is an illusion. This whole thing is about to blow up, and like a dark basement full of rats run for the corners when the light is turned on or maybe closer would be 'cockroaches'

As stated it's only damage control. James Carville isn't there to spin a warm and fuzzy yard that puts the Clintons in the limelight, nor is the media focusing on the Clintons. It takes a village isn't going to get them a speaking podium this time. Bill is truly miffed that the Marxist mob has left them in the dust bin of history. He should be counting his blessings, most Marxists don't make it to retirement, having been retired early by the competition. It's nice to see that the Clinton supporters have to make a harder decision than the conservatives this election, they love Socialism for the masses but are coming to realize that under Obama they are the masses too. The Democrat party has abandoned them but blind loyalty still drives them, they are guilty by association, I think in the end they'll hold their noses and vote for the Zebra, choosing Party over country. I'd love to be a knife vendor and be able to give away free knives and maybe some rotgut whiskey at the DNC convention.

Maybe Bill Clinton will unload, but I doubt it. He will probably be his falsely charming self and give a retching praise of Obama. Hope I am wrong and Clinton's speech turns the convention into pandemonium.

I wonder how much the Clinton's will actually support Obama? An Ombam presidency will tube Hillary's chances for 2012. By time 2016 rolls around, she'll be too old for the White House.

Mark, LOL yes I would be embarassed if I was Bill Clinton. Being asked pretty much at the last minute to speak.
