God Bless You Duncan Hunter

This is the email I got from Duncan Hunter as I am sure many others did as well.

“It’s time for me to gear up for 2008’s defense bill that will be put together over the coming weeks. There is work to be done in the areas of troop protection and new capabilities to be deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan. And over the horizon, the emergence of Communist China as a military super power will require a new emphasis on U.S. capabilities in undersea warfare, space, and long range air-power.

The best way to maintain a new era of peace is for the U.S. to remain strong. Over the coming year I will endeavor to help craft a defense bill that meets the new security challenges.

Since our campaign began over 200,000 additional manufacturing jobs have been lost. 1.8 million jobs have left the U.S. for China. This fracturing of the U.S. industrial base is a long term threat to America. I hope that the remaining candidates will recognize it and address it. As the senior Republican on the House Armed Services Committee, I will seek to address it.

Only hours ago a border patrolman was killed in the California Desert. This tragedy emphasizes more than ever the compelling case for the completion of the border fence. Since I wrote the bill that mandates 854 miles of double border fence only a few miles have been constructed. Over the next year in Congress I will do everything in my power to get that fence built.

Finally, for Lynn and me, the campaign over the last year has shown us this: America is a wonderful country. Our people have great character and goodness, and the meeting of new friends has enriched our lives.

The failure of our campaign to gain traction is mine and mine alone. But we have driven the issues of national security, the border fence, the emergence of China and the need to reverse bad trade policy. Because of that, this campaign has been very worthwhile, and for the Hunter family, a lot of fun.

To our friends and supporters and volunteers: many thanks. And now it’s time for me to focus on developing a 2008 defense bill that serves our troops and our nation.
Thanks, and God Bless America.

Duncan Hunter"

Wild Thing's comment........

I cried tonight when Duncan said he had to end his run for President. I know we all saw it coming, but I kept hoping, even that he would be as VP for Thompson. That would have made it a possible 16 years of two good men in our White House. From day one I have been for Duncan Hunter, as time progressed I kept pulling for him but there have been so few video's to post from him, and it has made it difficult to promote him on this blog.

It is just so very sad to see this happening. Heartbreaking. The country has lost tonight a great patriot for President.

May God bless Duncan Hunter and his family.

Tells you about the sinful age we live in... throwing Duncan Hunter and Fred Thompson to the dogs and lavishing the Clintons and Obamas... 2 Timothy 1:5 reads "This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blashphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy. Without natural affection, trucebreakers, FALSE ACCUSERS, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good..."

Darth picked the right Biblical passage.

My optimism is out the window. I did not think Duncan Hunter would get the nomination, but I expected a much better showing. He tried, but he got no push, support or attention from the powers to be. He was the only candidate I trusted. I guess there are not as many conservatives as I wish there were.

He will still be on fire in the House of Representatives pushing an honest and conservative agenda. I hope his son also gets elected and joins his dad in the David vs Goliath battle. My guess is they will have no support from our next president.

I felt exactly the same way about Tom Tancredo.

Only the entitlement programs will flourish and the number of people receiving them will double.

Be it McCain or Clinton the die is cast. The Nanny state is on its way.

What I can't believe is this, South carolina was furious after Graham made statements saying how stupid his constituents were,. they were ready to run him out of the state on a rail. this weekend he introduced McCain, who authored the Amnesty Bill to a resounding ovation And that boggles my mind.

Thank you Darth, a very appropriate passage.
A sad requiem to a once great nation, RIP U.S.A. Thank you Duncan Hunter, your party has betrayed you like it has betrayed many of us.
Soon my fellow 'americans', who have given us this, will have all the same benefits, perks, security and glowing future that Fidel Castro has provided for those who supported his ascension to the throne of single party rule. It doesn't matter which candidate gets the presidency, duplicity has handed over our independence to Socialism where one size fit's all. Wow a free Burka and Thobe, all the food stamps you can pack, two Amero's to spend at FAMSA Plaza between prayer calls, government paid vacations to the mother country and your very own mosque, it doesn't get any better than this.

Maybe after 4 years of corruption, cheating and lying to the public, by another Clinton Administration the people will wake up. Then Duncan Hunter can make another run for it. He is a good man. We can always hold out hope he could be picked as the VP. But if wishes were horses beggars would ride.

Funny thing is McCain isn't even on the ballot in Pennsylvania.

I still can't understand how South Carolina went for McCain and that little creep graham got a standing 'O'. And Huckleberry in second. Steven King couldn't have written a better horror story.
'Night of the Zombies' and I mean the voters.

The more that I hear people explain why they are voting for one candidate or another the more cynical that I get about the survival of our country as the founders intended it to be. Too many voters are just plain stupid and not ashamed to show it.

The lack of enough voter support for Duncan Hunter, Tom Tancredo, and Fred Thompson leaves us with choice in November between a Socialist and a RINO. That is like choosing between hanging and a firing squad. South Carolinians should be ashamed of themselves. I'm hoping for a brokered Republican convention where none of the current candidates gets enough support to win and the Party turns to a real Conservative as the compromise candidate.

Darth that verse describes it so well. Thank you so much.

Posted by: Wild Thing at January 21, 2008 12:02 AM

Tom, me too!! Everything you said is how I feel about him and also his son.

Posted by: Wild Thing at January 21, 2008 12:05 AM

LomaAlta, yes, it is hard because there are so few to be proud to vote for and trust.

Posted by: Wild Thing at January 21, 2008 12:05 AM

Mark, thank you so much for bringing that up. I saw that too and was totally shocked. I just don't understand at all.

Posted by: Wild Thing at January 21, 2008 12:07 AM

Jack it is so sad. And scary too.

Posted by: Wild Thing at January 21, 2008 12:08 AM

Mark, oh my gosh that is exactly what Huckabee is like a zombie. GREAT description of him.

Posted by: Wild Thing at January 21, 2008 12:10 AM

Les, yes I wouldn't mind at all seeing that where we can see the faces of our enemy say....blah blah blah for McCain or Huckabee like that etc.

Posted by: Wild Thing at January 21, 2008 12:11 AM

Like Chrissie knows South Carolina is our second home and the Graham crackers $old out a fellow southerner - Fred Thompson - for McCain?
SC dumped McCain in 2000 for 'W'? I am shocked and thought Fred would win SC... Fred should be finished now. GO MITT ROMNEY IN 2008 & VP RUDY!!!

We can thank the media for this. They did everything in their 4th column power to do in the 2 most conservative candidates. They are pushing for a candidate Hillary can beat. God forbid ~

I listened to one of the campaign people for Hunter last night on the Andrea Shea King show:

http://www.askshow.com/listen.php

It's not up yet but should be posted in a day or two.
Sad, sad day for our country.
