Disgusting From a President: Obama On Second Amendment Rights: “Something Fundamental Has To Change”

Obama On Second Amendment Rights: “Something Fundamental Has To Change”…

CNN

Barack Obama appeared on NBC’s “Meet The Press” on Sunday, talking about the “fiscal cliff” negotiations and priorities for his administration in his second term.

“Something fundamental in America has to change,” said Obama, who visited on December 16 with families of victims of the Newtown, Connecticut, school shootings.

The president said Sunday he will put forth a proposal next year to change firearm laws. Among the things the legislation will address are assault-style rifles, high-capacity ammunition magazines and background checks on all firearm sales.

Wild Thing's comment...............

That any president would say this or think it is so beyond disgusting and should alarm every American.

There's already a background check for all firearm sales. It's called the Instant Check.

One thing that hasn't happened with the Instant Check is mental illness treatment hasn't been linked to the database. Look for that to happen and when it does, a lot of Veterans are going to be denied the right to purchase firearms. PTSD is a form of mental illness. Many Veterans who served in the Middle East are applying for it just to get that disability check. Just spoke with two Army Vets who were told when they outpocessed that they should apply for it since they did tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Neither did. Many Vets definitely have PTSD and need treatment but I fear many others sold their Constitutional Rights for 30 pieces of silver.

Bob - I think obama means private citizen to citizen sales will require background checks and documenting. Presently only sales by FFL dealers are recorded.

And you are right about that PTSD racket. Over 25% of Iraqi vets applied for disability. We know the actual point of the spear is much much smaller than 25% of troops deployed. My guess would be 8 to 12% including direct combat support personnel.
