Bob Hope Remembered On City of Burbank Float in Rose Bowl Parade

On Saturday, February 20 the City of Burbank will turn 100. There is a lot of history in Burbank, history of the wonderful years of showbiz that most of us have loved. The years when Stars more then most loved to entertain the troops and many as well served in our military.

The Design Committee solicited ideas for images to use in a "filmstrip" around the base of the float. Bob Hope was one of the many candidates that everyone liked. Walt Disney, Johnny Carson, and Dr. Burbank will be the others.

Wild Thing's comment........

This will be a wonderful Rose Bowl Parade this year. I am so glad they included Bob Hope with this float. Carson too, no one has replaced either one of them.

.....Thank you Mr.Happy for sending this to me.

I have never been to Burbank. Most of what I know about it is from the Johnny Carson show or other tv shows like Dragnet. They certainly picked some really famous celebrities to adorn their float.

Tom, yes they did, they make excellent choices for this float.
Burbank is small but filled with tons of history.
