Michelle Obama: It's a 'sacrifice' to travel to Europe to pitch for the Olympics. For Oprah and the president, too. But we're doing it for the kids.

In her speech in Copenhagen today, First Lady Michelle Obama said her trip to Denmark, along with the travel of her "dear friend" and "chit-chat buddy" Oprah Winfrey, as well as tomorrow's visit by President Obama, is a "sacrifice" on behalf of the children of Chicago and the United States. "As much of a sacrifice as people say this is for me or Oprah or the president to come for these few days," the first lady told a crowd of people involved in the Chicago project, "so many of you in this room have been working for years to bring this bid home."
"As first lady, as many of you know, I’ve made it a priority to bridge the gap between the White House and communities across D.C. and across the country," Mrs. Obama continued. "I’ve spent much of my first nine months trying to open the doors to the White House to kids who might not otherwise see themselves having access to these institutions, because that’s where I came from – communities like that where kids never dreamed that they could set foot in the White House, let alone live there&hellipAnd Barack and I made a point of doing the same thing when we lived in Chicago – making the concerns of kids in all sorts of communities our own."
Mrs. Obama said bringing the Olympics to Chicago is especially important right now because "athletics is becoming more of a fleeting opportunity." "Funds dry up so it becomes harder for kids to engage in sports, to learn how to swim, to even ride a bike," she said. In addition, with childhood obesity on the rise, "it is so important for us to raise up the platform of fitness and competition and fair play," the first lady said.
Finally, having the Olympics in Chicago would be important to "let people know that we understand that sports saves lives, that it makes dreams come true, that it creates visions in kids’ heads to make them think they can be the next David Robinson, the next Barack Obama, the next Nadia Comaneci, the next Oprah Winfrey," Mrs. Obama said.

Two planes to get these people on their way. Two seperate planes spending OUR tax dollars. There was NO reason they could not go in one plane. That ticks me off too. Can these peoples ego and sense of entitlement get any bigger??

Yeah some sacrifice, two Jets in two days one 727 and one 747, over a million pounds of CO2 thats a huge carbon footprint. Escort planes and decoys all for the "kids", whose kids is she so concerned about. The ones who beat that kid to death in Chicago. Hell, Half of Chicago could care less about the Olympics.
Self-serving pompus asses. She belongs in a cage for observation.

I...can...hardly...type...I'm...sooooooooo...sad! Imagine.....the sacrifice she's...making for the KIDS!! What.. a great... role model... What horse crap! Why aren't the greenies on the left screaming outrage at the carbon-spewing jets!? I could nickname her the "Carbon Queen"...but the obvious racial implications would just get me in trouble.

They are taking the Pelosi lead, get the most expensive government travel mode possible, hell it takes one aircraft alone for his aids(teleprompters and it's crew).Let's see if that sacrifice really is a cover up for all the slum lords of Chicago who have had their paws into federal funds to pay for their ventures, those that are bankrupt that is. The Olympic Games in Chicago will turn that turf into highly profitable scams and cover the corruption, then when it's over there will be that economic vacuum again for them to play the Nawlin's ploy. From Richard M. Daley all the way through the Obama cabinet, it's the Chicago mafia at it's best.

If this woman is so concerned about the opportunity for the "kids" to "engage in sports", a better plan would be to take all the money being spent on this project and put it into Recreation programs in the community and Athletics programs in the schools.
As far as her fraud president husband is going over there too. Let me see, Iran Nuclear Situation?, War in Afghanistan?, The Economy?, North Korea? We'll just put those on hold while I try to line the pockets of my buddies in Chicago

Just another act for publicity. I should be so lucky. I've always wanted to see the Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen, but I'd rather see Stirling, Scotland or Londonderry, Northern Ireland instead. A sacrifice, huh? She is so full of crap. She's 6 foot nothing, 200 and nothing and got not but a speck of first lady ability.

The King and Queen sacrifice for America once again. I hope to hell Chicago does not get the Olympics. And why is funding needed to teach kids to ride bikes. These two "disadvantaged" people have little concept of how to manage money.
I bet NATO's radar screens really light up when this armada of planes cross the Atlantic.

This is what was on Glenn Beck tonight, he had Charles Payne, a Black economist, who said, the black family has been corrupted by the black poverty pimps and Liberals. This perpetuates the myth that because they were slaves they will always be "the Victim", and whatever they do wrong they will always be forgiven, by White Liberals of course.
