Something to think about as well, Obama said he wants to make health care more efficient and stop paying for things that don't make you healthier. OK let's look at that and what it means.
What about cancer patients or those with a brain tumor that have loss of hair due to chemo therapy. Their wigs do not make them healthier according to Obama's way of thinking. Insurance companies now pay for this kind of thing because all heck would break loose if they didn't. But if the government was running the health care they would not be so likely to pay for this especially after we have already heard Obama say to the woman whose mother had heart surgery at 100 years old and is still alive today at 105, he told her she could just have been given a pain pill. THAT is the kind of thinking Obama has and his health care would reflect that same attitude about wigs and any reconstructive surgery necessary for cancer patients.
There are many things people are treated for that don't necessarily make them physically healthier but are necessary. Things like maintenance drugs that a person takes for high blood pressure to maintain their health. They don't make a person healthier the condition still exists but the drug given to the patient helps to maintain them and helps them live longer. Nicholas has taken a blood pressure pill every day since before I even met him. So I was thinking about that. One of the models I used to know would get a shot in her nose ( YIKES) for the very painful hay fever sinus infections she would get. Did that shot make her healthier I think so, but under Obama's health plan would she just be told to hang in their till the hay fever season was over. Socialized medicine is a cold blooded thing and it goes from bad to worse once it gets started.

If I'm understanding her correctly, AARP is supporting obamacare. This would validate my suspicion of AARP as not an advocacy group for seniors but simply a business making money off of seniors. I could be wrong but I see way too many AARP car insurance ads on TV.

I sure like Betsy McCaughy as a spokesman against this horrible healthcare plan. She does her studying well and presents her points articulately.
Jim - your suspicians are well founded. AARP is a liberal organization. For years it has been on the record for gun control even though it's membership has not. I refuse to join AARP.

Speaking as a patient I find it hard to survive on today's medical regimen. Since Obama hit the scene I've had nothing but trouble from my provider, it's that every one has the urge to assert their importance to the system to justify their existence. My RX's have been hosed since December, all because a temporary nurse entered the wrong data in the computer, a computer that links doctors, laboratories and pharmacies. Isn't that what the village idiot wants? I've had knock down drag outs with the doctor, the staff and the front desk. I just got the gotdam mess straightened out and I'm contemplating a new doctor and medical facility as the result. I was a 10 year member of AARP, signed up for a 10 year membership at 50, big mistake, the happiest day of my life was when they sent me a dunner to resubscribe, I told them to poke it up there so far that Morris Dees could read it. AARP is nothing but a PAC for the left with Dees their ACLU lawman. As for that self centered half black bastard Obama , I hope he suffers in pain from some black syphilis or worse back in his Kenyan homeland.

Here's something else to think about. They never mention the word Rationing when they talk about revising health care. But that's exactly what it is. We will stand in line to buy a lottery ticket
in the hopes of getting a doctor that week for that malady of the moment.
Regardless your age, they will assign a dollar value to your life. If you come down with a disease that exceeds you life amount, then guess what your out of health care.
They will be using a grading system to gauge how well you are. Called the (QALY) system meaning, Quality-Adjusted-Life-Year a rating system from 0-1.0 if you are healthy for a year you get a 1 if you are restricted to a Wheel Chair you may get a .5 depending on the bureaucrat in charge of your case.
It will not be determined by a medical professional but some body totally unrelated to the medical field. This is Government rationing of Health Care.
So if you've had a bad experience with the system now, wait it will get worse. As has been stated the Elderly will be hit the worst because that's where the money is. This is why the democrats refuse to remove the 'Death Tax', they will lose money for their system.
