ABC Outs Psychologists Who Developed CIA Waterboarding Program

Brian Ross

ABC's Brian Ross, Matthew Cole, and Joseph Rhee have exposed Them and their families are at dire risk now.

ABC's Shame
ABC runs a report showing the names and faces of two CIA contractors who may have had a role in the waterboarding of KSM and Abu Zubaydah. The network apparently outsourced this report to a freelancer named Matthew Cole, whose record in Nexis includes just three bylines -- two stories for Salon (one of which about "how Bush administration aid to Pakistan helps fund insurgents who kill U.S. troops"), and one for the San Jose Mercury News just two days after 9/11 reporting "anxiety about a backlash" among Muslims, who assure the reporter that the attack "has nothing to do with Islam."

In other words, Cole is a left-wing partisan with questionable reporting chops. This is obvious from the quality of the story tonight. Cole repeats the now throughly debunked claim that Zubaydah and KSM were waterboarded 83 and 183 times respectively. He posts video of the two refusing to answer questions in what is staged as a faux perp walk with no discernible news value other than to portray them as criminals. And, most amazingly, Cole indicts the two men for not having any experience prior to their work for the CIA -- as though being "previously involved in the U.S. military program to train pilots how to survive behind enemy lines and resist brutal tactics" isn't relevant.

ABC's conduct here, exposing two men who will now become obvious targets for terrorists and left-wing extremists, is deplorable. Will the Obama administration investigate who leaked their identities? Or is it now open-season on Americans who were only doing what their government asked of them in order to protect their country from attack?

ABC news it is a 3 page article, pleaae click link to read it there, thank you.

ABC’s piece is about how these two guys masterminded the CIA’s program — while allegedly not really knowing what they were doing.

Both Mitchell and Jessen were previously involved in the U.S. military program to train pilots how to survive behind enemy lines and resist brutal tactics if captured.

But it turns out neither Mitchell nor Jessen had any experience in conducting actual interrogations before the CIA hired them.

“They went to two individuals who had no interrogation experience,” said Col. Kleinman. “They are not interrogators.”

The new documents show the CIA later came to learn that the two psychologists’ waterboarding “expertise” was probably “misrepresented” and thus, there was no reason to believe it was “medically safe” or effective. The waterboarding used on al Qaeda detainees was far more intense than the brief sessions used on U.S. military personnel in the training classes.

“The use of these tactics tends to increase resistance on the part of the detainee to cooperating with us. So they have the exact opposite effect of what you want,” said Sen. Carl Levin (D-Mich).

The new memos also show waterboarding was used “with far greater frequency than initially indicated” to even those in the CIA.

Wild Thing's comment.........

ABC News just pushed these two men to the top of Al Qaeda’s hit list. If anything happens to them, Brian Ross will have their blood on his pathetic hands.

God bless Mark Levin, he talked about this on his show and he was screaming and cussing about it.

Over on Drudge it was titled:

ABCNEWS OUTS 'ARCHITECTS' BEHIND CIA WATERBOARDING, INTERROGATIONS... NAMES NAMES, SHOWS THEIR FACES...

ABC meant to endanger these people. While all this is going on violence in Iraq and Pakistan is ramping up. The terrorists have to be encouraged by the turn of US politics aided by the media.

When we are successfully attacked again, the reason for our enemies' success will be because of malignant fools like Brian Ross and Co., who apparently don't believe in self defense.

The enemy within - makes you wonder what they are getting from Soros too.
Intel will be not be acted on and those who would cause this country harm will have higher capability to employ their attacks. And our troops will be in even more danger.
Time to bring back hanging.

You can bet ABC had the blessing of the White House in this.

Isn't it great the Main stream media of the United States of America is the left hand of the jihadists.

Is anyone else discouraged, jesus, I think we are outnumbered 100 to 1 and I feel like we are almost out of ammunition. Are we on our own or do we actually have a Conservative leader out there somewhere. If we do I sure wish he'd open his mouth.

So these two psychologists outing is more newsworthy than Obama's refusal to show his birth certificate. No doubt that the MSM is heavily biased toward the Left.

The MSM first showed it's anti American bias during Vietnam. Few people could believe that the media would be so socialist and anti American. The attacks on Reagan and the Bushs and the walks given to Bill Clinton should have been indicators to anyone. The media attacks on the WOT and our troops should have been an indicator. Now the blatant covering up for and adulation heaped on Obama should leave no doubt.

The media is heavily biased to the left.

Hmmnn, are those fingerprints on the directive to ABC from Rahm Emanuel?

Jack - yes, if there are only three finger and one thumb print on the right hand.

Yankeemom, good one, I bet Soros is helping
them out a lot as he pays peoople to
investigate too. Soros is really pushing the
wanting an investigation to take Bush and
Cheney down.

BobF., see I had not even thought of
that. I bet your right, they would do
something like that for sure.

Mark, I feel the same way.
Today I could only think of I just hope
we are able to keep our blogs where we
can at least discuss things happening and
support our troops. Then try to win our
country back somehow.

Not so much a feeling of giving up, but one
of hopeless for the time being, like our
voice does not count and it doesn't. It is
heartbreaking, I love America sooooo much.

Tom, that is what it feels like!!!!
Like you said the same thing during the
Vietnam war and the media. They are using
the same how to book. I swear if CRONKITE
shows up I will scream.

Jack, good one, he would be the kind of
person to do this.
