Gov. Blagojevich Compares His Arrest to Attack on Pearl Harbor

Illinois' embattled but defiant governor, so fond of reciting poetry as he defends himself against federal corruption allegations, has turned instead to the history books to describe the emotional strain his arrest put on him and his family.
In an interview Thursday with The Associated Press, Gov. Rod Blagojevich compared his early morning December arrest by FBI agents to Japan's 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor.
He says it was a "complete surprise" but he'll prevail, just like America in World War II.
Blagojevich says there's no chance he will resign before the start of the state Senate's impeachment trial next week. He says he will fight the allegations against him "to the very end."
The two-term Democrat is accused of scheming to swap President Barack Obama's vacant Senate seat for personal gain.
Facing almost certain defeat in the Senate impeachment trial, Blagojevich might ask the courts to step in and block a proceeding that he considers "a sham," a lawyer for the Democratic governor said.
Attorney Samuel E. Adam told The Associated Press on Thursday that a lawsuit challenging what he called "completely unfair" Senate trial rules is being prepared and could be filed to the state Supreme Court within days, pending a final decision on whether to move forward.
Blagojevich's trial is set to begin Monday.

Blago is insane. What is it with them that they always compare things to things like this.
Remember back in April of last year, when Al Gore on "60 Minutes" compared the challenge of fighting global warming to the invasion of Normandy and the civil rights . And Shelia Jackson Lee, who, when told that the US space program had gotten to Mars, asked if they had been able to see the flag that the astronauts left there. She also blamed the Katrina deaths on the " Supression of the black vote."

Just shows you how the modern Libs have such a hard time handling difficult situations. Hang nail? Call FEMA. It's a state emergency - kinda like the Inauguration; the most peaceful transfer of the office of the leader of the country in the world.

Honestly, I think America would do as well, if not better and cheaper, to have public office filled by a lottery. Only taxpayers without felonies would be elgible. We almost have royalty, political families. Others decide in high school or earlier they want to go into politics and that is all they aim for. Very little of the man/woman who after some successes in life just decides to offer to serve.
In this case it appears both Blogojevich and his wife are political scammers and schemers.

Can you imagine if a Republican Governor got caught with the same pay for play politics that Blago did? What about a Republican comedian stuffing the ballot boxes in a state like Minnesota to steal a U.S. Senate seat? To top it off, what would happen if a Republican won an election to be President of the United States and he paid attorney's fees of almost one million dollars to avoid producing his birth certificate to prove that he was, in fact, a natural born citizen and qualified to take the oath of office?
All Democrat and MSM Hell would break loose that would make Pearl Harbor look like a picnic. So, not only isn't it a surprise that Blago compares his arrest to Pearl Harbor, it is to be expected from a very corrupt and dysfunctional Democrat family plagued by too much inbreeding.
