Actress Maria Conchita Alonso Endorses McCain

Today the McCain-Palin campaign announced the endorsement of Maria Conchita Alonso, a Latin American actress who has starred in television and film for three decades. Alonso, who was born in Cuba and raised in Venezuela, recently appeared on CSI: Miami and Desperate Housewives and starred alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger in The Running Man.

"As a Latina and a new American citizen, I believe in this country and its people, and I believe that we need more than just 'change.' We need a leader who can bring about the right kind of change, and John McCain has the experience and judgment necessary to lead us in these uncertain times," Alonso said. "I grew up in Cuba and Venezuela, and I am appalled that Barack Obama apparently wants to emulate the "spread the wealth" economic policies of those countries and negotiate with their leaders. For me the choice is clear, and I believe it is my duty to share my views even though it might not make me popular in Hollywood."

After a successful career in Venezuela as a beauty queen, telenovela star, film actress and singer, Alonso emigrated to the United States from Caracas, Venezuela in 1982. She has appeared in dozens of films and television shows since then and was the first South American star to star on Broadway.

Wild Thing's comment..........

Maria has lived where spread the wealth has been in effect and she knows it does not work. She has been on FOX several times in the past talking about how horrible Hugo Chavez is and also telling off Sean Penn and others how wrong they are do make friends and side with Hugo Chavez.

I remember her in that movie! Just think, a famous Latina for McCain. That's so great.
I'm sick of seeing all the famous people for Barackoli. It's nice to see some for McCain, too.

Last year there were not very many kids for Trick or Treat at our house so we didn't buy a ton of candy this year. And sure enough they came 12 or 15 to a group and we were out of candy by seven o'clock. Before I finally turned out all the lights, I asked the last two large groups if they would give me some candy to give the next group. En masse the little kids shouted, "No!" So much for sharing the wealth. I wanted to say, "Like our Maximum Leader suggests," but I didn't.

She sure is pretty. Too bad other Hollywood types haven't had her experiences growing up in socialist "paradises". She has had the opportunity to compare America to socialism and has made public her choice. I hope she isn't refused jobs because of it.

Maria Conchita Alonso as a new citizen demonstrates an understanding of what our country, Constitution, and successful core values are better than many natural born citizens. She is also brave for publicly expressing her views while working in an industry that has demonstrated it's intolerance of those who disagree with their extreme and far left liberal and social agenda.

We are better off as a country with Maria Conchita Alonso as a citizen and one who speaks her mind.

Lynn, I agree, the stupid liberals in hollywood have made a few videos promoting their Obama. YUK

It is nice to see the ones that do not and really speak out about it. There really are a lot more, but way, way too few say it out loud.

Tom I agree, if more people would be aware or even had experienced what Maria has there would be no way they would want to vote Obama. Yes she is very pretty.

Les, I agree, she has seen first hand the difference and she has amazed me sometimes when I saw her on FOX really telling off people like Sean Penn for his trips to see Hugo and things he would say too.
