This Morning Re: Bailout....McCotter Rejects "700-pound Billion Dollar Bag of Dung"..

McCotter Rejects 700-pound Billion Dollar Bag of Dung

Let me put this in the simplistic terms for people like me to understand. Now the Wall-Street crony capitalist have put a 700-pound billion dollar bag of dung on taxpayers doorsteps, rung the bell, and expect you to thank them when you answer it. I think the American people will think otherwise.

Wild Thing's comment..........

That’s an incredible delivery. I expect most R’s in Congress will vote against this bailout bill, but since the Dems are in the majority control - we’re gonna have to eat it.

Just saw a Ohio Dem Rep on cspan - Mary Something. She was pissed. Said negotiations were going on behind locked doors and the very people negotiating the bailout are the ones responsible for the mess. She says no deal. It appears dems are not unanimous on this one.

I couldnt believe these words came out of a dem mouth.

So typical of DC to say “it’s over we win” when they know it isn’t. They only do this crap in hopes that people will stop calling and writing their congressmen.

This is a make or break issue; if McCain does not vote against the bailout, even Sarah Palin will not be able to save him. I'll be back to sitting this election out. Actually I'll actively work against the socialist of both parties.

All for a return to the Gold Standard, say AYE!

"Until government administrators can so identify the interests of government with those of the people and refrain from defrauding the masses through the device of currency depreciation for the sake of remaining in office, the wiser ones will prefer to keep as much of their wealth in the most stable and marketable forms possible - forms which only the precious metals provide." During my C-5 Galaxy aircrew dog days we used to say "KISS" for "Keep It Simple Stupid"...Let's bailout gamblers next by GIVING them more rolls of quarters for the slots? Let's give alcoholic beverages to all alcoholics too? Declare a RECESSION and like our GREATEST GENERATION family members have done - we'll deal with it and OVERCOME it. Enough SOCIALISM and WELFARE... ENOUGH!!! "Hey buddy can you spare a dime, er HOUSE?"

Ooooo, I'd say Rep McCotter is a bit 'ticked', me thinks he is a tad pissed. Finally, the Republicans have grown a pair. Pelosi must be putting the Saltpetre in the wrong bowls.

If you are not part of the solution then you are part of the problem. Now, the people (Congress to be exact) who brought about this financial crisis with their irresponsible deregulation of Fannie Mae and Feddie Mac under Bill Clinton want to rush through a back room deal that is not in the interest of the public but protects their own asses for the mess that they have caused and then blame it all on George Bush. These are the same government lack of oversight people that allowed a flawed accounting system to over-inflate the stock market in the 90's and bring about failures like Enron and the crashing of the market in general. The Democrats are also the ones when John McCain and George Bush separately wanted to fix Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to avoid this current crisis said "No", they don't need fixing.

Trust this back room wheeling and dealing B.D.S. Democrat controlled Congress for a solution when they are the problem? No way.

I have to wonder about all the negative blabber on the bailout, it’s all well and good except for one bloody thing!!! No alternative plan, nothing, nada,
Zip, zero. If these clowns are going to talk the talk, they had best walk the walk. Greed has reared it’s ugly head and lot’s of folks have their finger prints on the victim besides politicians. Real estate speculators, sleazy
Appraisers, plain greedy people buying and flipping homes till they got
trapped in the mess The public as a whole on a consumption binge grabbing
every thing in site!! Along comes 4.00 gas and times get tough. overloaded
On credit, what to pay first, their goes the house, S**t. foreclosure…Now
700 million is a bundle but think of this. The world uses 1000 barrels of oil
a second @106.39 per barrel. Times 60 for 1 minute, times 60 for 1 hour,
Times 24 for 1 day, times 365 for 1 year, the US’s part in this 25% with
That we paid for a big part of Dubai and are financing both sides of the war
on terror!!! See any thing wrong with this picture. It’s time to get off our
lazy ass and make some serious change. All this talk and finger pointing
is going to put the good old USA in the shitter. And like I said the Republicans are just as guilty as the dem-o- rat’s in fact some are worse!!

Look, let's be honest.
The people who are involved in this bailout aren't dim-witted layabouts. They're working people who are honestly trying to better themselves. They may have been misled by Fannie and Freddie into making stupid deals, but they're not crooks, and they're not goldbrickers.

We, the taxpayers, are going to suffer no matter what happens. You may be willing to say, "Ha, ha, they got what they deserve," but a vast number of foreclosures and bankruptcies will do this country no good. And too many people on the right are reinforcing the impression that the right is about greed and grinding down the working people. "I've got mine, and screw the rest." That isn't acceptable, now or ever. We are all Americans, even those of us who are not rich.
Too many conservatives are playing into the Democrats' hands with their callousness and their separation from reality.

Separation from reality?

McMansions built wall-to-wall here in the NE, selling for $450K (and up) without downpayment and interest-only schedules? "Doing the country good" is allowing these white elephants to be foreclosed, depreciated to normal values and sold to people who've worked and saved and struggled to obtain a place of their own.

If this thing passes, tell your kids and grandkids they've just assumed an additional $2500 in tax burdens to allow recklesss people to remain in their single-family dwellings while your kids and grandkids remain in their strip mall apartments.

This is bullshit.

"Where have all the portable tv's gone? Long time passing? Where have all the starter homes gone? Long time ago? Where have all the used cars gone? Gone to credit card debt, everywhere?" Read 2 Timothy verse 3 and 1 Timothy about money being the root of all evil! LEFTovers anybody? Fried bologna and cheese?

What is going on in Washington and on Wall street is a good thing in a way
if it wakes the public up and get’s them mad enough to vote. In the past the
words lack luster come to mind on voter performance, something we all
should be ashamed of!!! The Iraqi’s and Afghan’s put us to shame. By our
actions we have let Government become fat bloated pig that it is. Remember
It’s a government of the people by the people for the people!!! “NOW” we
Have let 35 plus years pass with out an energy policy and you see the result.
Why you ask??? Congress and the Senate are owned by the Oil companies…We are in tuff times true but look!!! A video game is launched and in three weeks records a half billion in sales!! You tell me where the priorities are!
We have gone down the road one hand waving free spending and buying every thing in sight, Buying
and flipping homes at a record pace! Buying gas hog pick up’s SUV’s
Flat screen tv’s ski boats and 75 % of it all on credit…Accountability
Is a word that is little used in this day and age,use it, demand it and you
will see a big change take place…I will recommend 2 books that should
Be required in all high schools and read by every American.
First Cowboy Ethics “What Wall Street Can Learn From The Code Of The
West”!!
Second ,Cowboy Values, “Recapturing What America Once Stood For “!!

And it is time for a sector of this Country to stop playing victim and get on with their lives, every one else
has so should they and with out ACORN!!! As Pogo said We have met the
Enemy and IT-R-US!!!

Les, see this is what really should be headline news............ The Democrats are also the ones when John McCain and George Bush separately wanted to fix Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to avoid this current crisis said "No", they don't need fixing. "

Darth, now I am singing that melody of that song. hahaa

Posted by: Wild Thing at September 29, 2008 07:13 PM

Tincan Sailor, if this kind of thing does not wake people up then not much will. Obviously they have forgotten too about 9-11 which shows in the apathy out there to learn about the candidates.
