Bush Snubs Netanyahu on Israel Visit

Likud Opposition Leader Binyamin Netanyahu

U.S. President George W. Bush has declined to meet with former Prime Minister and current Likud Opposition Leader MK Binyamin Netanyahu during his upcoming visit to Israel, slated to begin on Wednesday, according to the Jerusalem Post.

Sources in Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s Kadima party quoted in the report offered this explanation: “At the White House, they think [Mr. Netanyahu] is a liar because of his behavior when he was prime minister.”

Outraged Likud officials accused Prime Minister Ehud Olmert of sabotaging what would normally be a routine meeting between a visiting U.S. President and an Israeli Opposition Leader, a long-established diplomatic custom.

“Given the extent to which the prime minister is willing to endanger the country to survive politically, it is not surprising that the Prime Minister’s Office is going out of its way to prevent Bibi (Netanyahu) from meeting with Bush,” said senior Likud sources.

A spokesman for Olmert stated that he was unaware of any efforts to block a meeting between Bush and Netanyahu.

Bush has no plans to meet with any politician or other officials opposed to the Annapolis process.

Wild Thing's comment........

This is a bad call by Bush. It reminds me when the Clinton's snubbed Netanyahu and catered to Arafat instead.

I only hope that Bibi Netanyahu and other like-minded patriots are able to rally the Israeli people to derail the Bush/Olmert/Abbas Israel Suicide Plan.

I look forward to Bush leaving office. I guess I have BDS, but I am absolutely fed up with "compassionate Conservatism". I fear that this Mid East road trip is going to be one big American sellout. If Bush isn't assassinated. Then we will be one pacemaker malfunction away from President Pelosi. Ugh!!

Really, I think this trip is a desperate bid for a legacy to be advertised in the soon to be Bush 43 Presidential Library.

I'm afraid I have to agree with Tom's assessment of the situation, first Geroge Bush sends Rice over to set the table then he arrives for the slaughtering of the lamb. A desperate attempt to leave a family legacy that 'read my lips' failed to achieve.
Will someone please rap Jorge alongside the haid and inform him that ragheads don't get along amongst themselves let alone in the one world order scheme of things, giving away Israel is only going to whet their appetite.
The only thing missing from the legacy of GHW Bush's family adoption plan that includes George's adopted brother William Jefferson is the inclusion of George's other adopted other brother James Earl, together they could rewrite history as they see fit with the common legacy of killing the United States, if Mizz Lillian were alive she could refer to them biblically as 'my three sons" from the burning bush.

Gee.....and I thought the whole purpose of these visits and meetings was to promote peace!!!!! I think old age is closing in on me quickly!!! I'm having more and more trouble figuring out who is supposed to be the good guy and who is playing the bad guy!!! Kind of reminds me of the song...."Who's makin' love to your old lady while I'm out making love?" It will be a sad day in history if Bush and Condi sell out Israel.

Les I hope so. This is so rude for one thing and beyond that BiBi has been a friend of our country long before ole icky Olmert.

Tom it sure is, and it is not going to happen. If it does it will be soooooo horrible and totally against the Israeli's.

John I agree!! It is harder and harder to tell who is on the good side anymore. We need some strong good guys in power.

I agree, Bush is a failure. Although he got our vote 2X, I can't wait for him to leave. As for Olmert, he's a loser and weakens Israel everyday he's in office.

Bush and Olmert.....kiss my butt
