Bush Plans Trip To Israel ~ But Look At Who Will Protect Him

Terrorists' new mission: Protect President Bush

Most active West Bank militant group in security team for Middle East visit

WND

JERUSALEM – Members of the most active West Bank terror organization are set to participate in security forces being deployed to protect President Bush during his visit to the Palestinian territories next month.

Bush is due in the region Jan. 9 as part of a follow-up to last month's U.S.-led Israeli-Palestinian Annapolis summit.

During his trip, the American president is scheduled to hold talks with Israeli leaders in Jerusalem, and meet quickly with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in the West Bank city of Ramallah.

According to Israeli security officials coordinating deployments of forces with the PA for Bush's Ramallah visit, members of the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, Fatah's declared military wing, have been called upon by the PA to participate in the protection of Bush's convoy and in securing the perimeter during the meeting with Abbas.

The Brigades is listed as a terror organization by the U.S. State Department. The group took credit along with the Islamic Jihad terror organization for every suicide bombing in Israel between 2005 and 2006, and is responsible for thousands of shootings and rocket firings. Statistically, the Al Aqsa Brigades perpetuated more terrorism from the West Bank than Hamas, according to the Israeli Defense Forces.

Many Brigades members, including the group's chiefs, serve openly in Fatah's Force 17 presidential guard units and the Palestinian Preventative Security Services; thousands of Force 17 and Preventative officers are slated to secure Ramallah during Bush's visit there.

The Israeli Defense Forces will protect the main West Bank highway Bush's convoy will use to approach Ramallah. Security for Bush will be largely turned over to the Palestinians once he enters Ramallah, although security plans are being heavily coordinated with the U.S.

According to Israeli security officials, over 6,000 Fatah forces will be deployed in three rings in central Ramallah to secure the area during Bush's brief stay, including Palestinian security officers who also serve in the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades.

Wild Thing's comment........

I hope this pans out to be one of the NOT true articles from WND, but many of theirs have been true. Either way this is horrendous that the President would be protected at all by terrorists. Why can't they have Blackwater if it is too much to get ONLY the IDF to guard Bush. sheesh I would never want to be guarded by terrorists no matter what.

....Thank you Les for the link and information.

I don't trust articles from World Net Daily. However, if this is an accurate story, any sane person has to say WTF?. If Bush is actually going to the West Bank, what in the world is he trying to prove? He must be getting absolutely desperate for a legacy before he leaves office.

After 60 years of paying into UNWRA with zero Palestinian peaceful results and zero Palestinian self reliance progress, Bush naively thinks he can pull off a solo peace treaty with the Muzzies. At least the security forces weapons will have been bought and paid for in U.S. dollars laundered by the UN. Take Jimmah with ya Jorge if you have a death wish. We know it's about selling out Israel but just don't sell out the United States in the same process.
George needs to look into that born again bible of his, Genesis 21:13, God gave Isaac the birthright...and said that Ishmael would be a problem... The Arab people, who came from Ishmael, have been a thorn in Israel’s side throughout their history. Not that it matters to Jorge it's his legacy time. What the hell are you trying to do Jorge, put Pelosi into the Whitehouse the same way LBJ got there?

Maybe this will be Bush's 'Jimmi Carter' moment, without the 'Chicolets' for teeth.

George Bush foolishly made a deal with the devil - Arab & Muslim leaders - in the Middle East trying to gain support for his war on terrorism to compensate for the loss of support at home lead by Democrats and the mainstream media. The deal he made was to sell out Israel as he took an alleged "even-handed" approach and promised them the creation of a Palestinian state before he leaves office.

Bush begins his nine day trip to the Middle East on January 8th and to show his "even handedness" plans to visit leaders in both Israel and Ramallah in the West Bank (future Palestine). Letting Israel and the IDF provide security for him in Ramallah would be dissing his Palestinian terrorist friends and undermine his efforts for their statehood. So, who do you think will provide all of the security for Bush in Ramallah? His Secret Service detail? U.S. military troops?

I think not. I do know that the West Bank is filled with thousands of armed (including American supplied) terrorists who can't wait to become martyrs and meet their 72 virgins.

We will all know in about two weeks if Bush is foolish enough to go to Ramallah where the upside is giving a great photo op of the President of the United States meeting with and supporting terrorists.

Chrissie - The photos added a nice touch to the story.

Of course its true and I hate to burst WND's bubble, but its not breaking news.

Remember, President Bush has given Mahmoud Abbas and Fatah his official Seal of Approval. The Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades is the military arm of Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah Party and they are armed and trained by the US, using US tax dollars.

I'm tired of the double standard, why does the War on Terror stop at Israel's border?

Given President Bush's support of Abbas and his merry band of terrorists, he should put his life into their hands, just as he has asked Israeli citizens to do. If there are consequences, well, he should suffer them. If something horrible happens, I would say he has reaped what he has sown.

The "moderate" Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigages is President Bush's pet terrorist group and they have been killing Jews for over 40 years.

Its a funny thing about terrorists, whether you call them extremist or moderate, no matter which brand of terrorist kills you, you are still dead.

And if Fatah does kill him, well, they'll just blame it on Hamas.

drstrangeloveb52isok, Yes good one, the Mossad is awesome!

Tom I agree, it seems all the President before they leave office do the let's all get along thing between Israel and the terrorists. It stinks to high heaven and is so obvious why he is doing this.

Posted by: Wild Thing at December 29, 2007 01:07 AM

Jack exactly! Bush needs to re-read or read it for the first time the Old Testament and see what God has to say about the children of Ishmael.

Mark, that reminds me I wonder if Condi will suggest for Carter to be there too. She is a Carter fan. grrrr

Les, thank you and thank you again for the link and also for your commnets about this. I agree Bush has made a deal with the devil for sure.

Posted by: Wild Thing at December 29, 2007 01:21 AM

LindaSoG, it shouldn't stop at the border of Israel but it does. And Bush could care less about Israel or even our own borders here for America.

He is NO friend to Israel no matter what he pretends the proof is his giving money to the terrorists then out of the other side of his mouth saying he is a friend to Israel, same with Condi.
