Bush-Kennedy Immigration Bill or How To Kill America

You will NEVER have to Press #2 to read my blog. I will stop doing this before that would happen.

Deal struck on immigration bill (in the Senate, now over to the House for action)

WASHINGTON - In a striking reach across party lines, the White House and key lawmakers agreed Thursday on a sweeping immigration plan to grant legal status to millions of people in the country unlawfully.

Sealed after months of secretive bargaining, the deal mandates bolstered border security and a high-tech employment verification system to prevent illegal workers from getting jobs.

President Bush said the proposal would "help enforce our borders but equally importantly, it'll treat people with respect."

The compromise brought together an unlikely alliance of liberal Democrats such as Sen. Edward M. Kennedy of Massachusetts and conservative Republicans such as Sen. Jon Kyl of Arizona on an issue that carries heavy potential risks and rewards for all involved.

The proposal constitutes a far-reaching change in the immigration system that would admit future arrivals seeking to put down roots in the U.S. based on their skills, education levels and job experience, limiting the importance of family ties. A new class of guest workers would be allowed in temporarily, but only after the new security measures were in place — expected to take 18 months.

"This is a bill where people who live here in our country will be treated without amnesty but without animosity," Bush said.
Kennedy hailed it as "the best possible chance we will have in years to secure our borders and bring millions of people out of the shadows and into the sunshine of America."

Cost:
The Bush-Kennedy amnesty.........Report: Potential cost = $2.5 trillion

Wild Thing's comment........

Dear heaven!!! Goodbye sweet America. This is a travesty!

They spent over a TRILLION dollars to make ILLEGAL aliens legal and yet our soldiers do not have enough money to fight the war.

Bush... "it'll treat people with respect".....

OH I see Bush, you want to treat the ILLEGALS with respect but not those of us here legally, all of us the freaking tax payers!

“some extra enforcement to try to slow the flow of the next 12 million illegal aliens enticed by the amnesty”

SOME???? SO MUCH FOR BORDER SECURITY FIRST!!!

Only two Republicans currently running for President, oppose this and any other “immigration bill,” i.e. Duncan Hunter and Tom Tancredo.

I just don’t understand how Bush and the Republicans in power can NOT see that this is DEATH to the Republican party. The illegals will NEVER NEVER NEVER support Republicans because the Dems will always promise them more.

As a child I was taught to respect authority....to play by the rules. To take the high road even when sometimes it might be difficult. I have done this my whole life, I listened to my Father and he was a man of honor and a Hero.
But those in our government would choke on the word honor, they would rather destroy the country that has let them be in power and kiss up to those that break our rules. Our laws mean nothing to these scrum that are doing this. Honor is foreign to them and Patriotism is a word they only think about at the beginning of a Ballgame when they are FORCED to hear our Anthem, if even then.

This is bigger than 2008. It is bigger than the Republican Party. This is about what kind of America we will have. The hell with the stupid politics. It’s about whether there will still be an America that we can recognize.

It is asinine to have Americans dying in Iraq when we have just given away America and all it stands for to an illegal alien horde and a profiteering political elite.

We might as well bring the troops home, and let them at least enjoy the last few days of a dying nation. Their final insult will be a few years down the road when an illegal alien culture schooled in the corruption and socialism of Latin America replaces Memorial and Veterans Days with hispanic festivals like Cinco de Mayo and Bolivar Day.

I will never vote for anyone who endoresed this. It is treason.

Others have said......

REP. DUNCAN HUNTER (R), CALIFORNIA: Listen, we passed my bill in October that calls for 854 miles of border fence across Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. The Senate bill cuts my fence in half, literally takes it down to 370 miles.

Rush Limbaugh: “This bill is worse than doing nothing it all. It’s already bad enough...”
He also said..."If the immigration bill goes through, we're doomed in '08. This will be the last straw for the GOP base as far as trusting the Republicans it elects."
And this as well.."Anybody that ends up supporting this will be very difficult for me to support."

U.S. Rep. Tom Tancredo:"Senator McCain and his allies seem to think they can dupe the American public into accepting a blanket amnesty if they just call it 'comprehensive' or 'earned legalization' or 'regularization." "The President is so desperate for a legacy and a domestic policy win that he's willing to sell out the American people and our national security."

Fred Thompson: "With this bill, the American people are going to think they are being sold the same bill of goods as before on border security. We should scrap this bill and the whole debate until we can convince the American people that we have secured the borders or at least have made great headway.”

My husband Nick ( Angry Old Salt) : " Let history record this day as the day the Congress and President of the United States of America deserted and abandoned its citizens by choosing to support the desires of corrupt industry and a massive horde of illegal invaders over and above the safety and welfare of the citizenry. May history label each and everyone of them that supported this fiasco as the Benedict Arnold’s they have chosen to become to the American public."

The patriots of the Alamo and Mexican War are turning over in their graves! Our 230-year nation's days are numbered. The GOP has $old US out. I am sick to my stomach. Our Republic will fall from within...

Consider that they're going to push this thing through before the election of 2008. Neither party wants it as an election issue because all the candidates would have to face questions about it. They've conspired on this for reasons that aren't clear right now.

The worst might be true...the political class has decided on a unified hemisphere for political and financial reasons, regardless of the individual cost, the catastrophic cultural disruption and the sovereignty issues.

It's time for me to recognize, against my own hopes, that representative government exists only in trivial matters, and that people I once regarded as kooks have been absolutely right. The fix is in. Time for a revolution.

My husbands 6th half cousin was Sam Houston!
How do you think he feels? His family was instrumental in founding Texas. (5th great grandpa married twice--Sam came from the first wife, my husband's family from the second)
Why can't those illegals have a revolution down in their own country?
Why don't you see Mexico's wealthy running across the border?
We are being sold down the river. We not only won the Mexican American War, but later, we PAID Mexico for what is now the Desert Southwest.
This bill stinks to high heaven!
Are they going to have to learn English or will my kids and descendants have to learn Spanish?
I'm all for immigration--the legal way and them learning to speak English. My ancestors had to.
Try learning English from Gaelic.
When are we going to learn that we are giving up ourselves when we grant amnesty to several million people. Do you really think they're going to pay that $5,000 or return home to get another Z-visa?
Hell NO they aren't! And they'll just keep coming and coming like Killer Bees until there is nothing left of us.
Shame on the government for allowing this, shame!
And I'm tired of talking to illegals on the phone who can't speak enough English for me to help them.
Why didn't they put in there that they would HAVE to learn English?

It's all about votes. Hispanics are now the largest minority group in America. http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/census/2003-06-18-Census_x.htm

Very soon, these 12 to 20 million illegals will get voting rights and then the stinky stuff will hit the fan. How long will it be before the US becomes like Mexico and these other Banana Republics? Remember, were not talking the cream of the crop coming here. Were talking about a criminal element who has no regard for our laws.

Please God, put it into Fred Thompson's heart to run for President. I will donate money to his campaign. Thompson/Hunter 2008

We have 12-20 Million illegals, who knows how many really. Who come here in good health, bad health or with disease. They are not checked for contagious diseases, we can't do that because that would be demeaning.

Would it not be demeaning to our fellow citizens( who came here legally) if they come down with some disease that was supposedly wiped out 40 years ago.

This is all politics, and I believe Bush has given the democrats control of Washington DC for the next 50 years. At such time this will no longer be the United States but a conglomerate country of Canada, the US and Mexico. This has been Bush's aim all along a giant socialist state where everything is done for the state and we the people will be a thing of the past.

I am sorry I voted for him, Because of that I am partly responsible for this open borders nonsense.

Amen Mark.

Doesn't that cozy father and son relationship between George Bush senior and Slick Willy make more sense now? It's true, the acorn doesn't fall far from the tree, this move only reinforces that long held apprehension I've had about GWB being a closet Socialist. The biggest insult is George's incestuous relationship with the likes of that Toad Kennedy. For damn sure I'll not blindly support the GOP that's pushing the Bloomberg Republicans, I'll vote my conscience even if it means Hillary Clinton gets the office by default.

These illegal immigrants will only take as long as we'll give, there's an Afrikaans term that aptly describes them, soutpiel or soutie on account of their divided loyalties. One foot in the old country, the other in the United States, and their genitals in the sea. They are like the Muzzies, they'll not integrate.

Now, pass that barf bag.

Right on big time Chrissie. Fred! is so damn right on too and could well win a presidency on this issue alone. Great comment too Nick. That is definately "Quoteable."
Keep them coming!

Only the US Government would have to pay 2.5 Trillion dollars to allow 12 Million Illegals into this country.

According to the bill somewhere in all of that 600 pages of doubletalk the Illegal is suppose to pay the US $5000 so where is that money going ? Or is 'Toad' kennedy somehow funneling that back to them as a payback for their vote.

Last I heard there were 9 Million unaccounted Social Security numbers, those numbers are paying in on the account, no-one knows for sure who they are, so where is that money going ?

Dan....."donks and rinos have just assassinated America".....they sure have.

Posted by: Wild Thing at May 18, 2007 05:22 PM

Darth, good point, they certainly must be turning over in their graves.

It makes me sick to my stomach too.

Posted by: Wild Thing at May 18, 2007 05:24 PM

Rhod I bet your right, they want to get this done with before the next election.

I am just sick about all of this.

Posted by: Wild Thing at May 18, 2007 05:28 PM

Lynn excellent comment about this, thank you.

I agree, about the English too, just the other night some guy called trying to do a survey about I have no idea, he could not speak English.

Posted by: Wild Thing at May 18, 2007 05:34 PM

Bob thank you for the link.

This seething anger I feel is not getting less, but stronger every time I think about it throughout the day and yesterday. Something huge has got to happen, I have no idea what.

I know a lot of people are changing their Political Party and being a NON party choice just to show the RNC and GOP how upset they are. Maybe that will help, their concern over loosing votes and money.....I just don't know.

Posted by: Wild Thing at May 18, 2007 05:37 PM

Mark I voted for him too. I worked so hard with rallies and all kinds of things back then, because I did not want Gore to win the first time and I didn't want Kerry to win the second time.

But we need a real live conservative, not another rhino. My stomach is sick, my heart is borken for our beloved America.

Time to stock up on ammo. Lots and lots of ammo. We have just been screwed. Let's make sure we flood those email addies.

Posted by: raz0r at May 18, 2007 05:44 PM

Jack, ditto!

I remember how shocked I was when Barbara Bush said Bill Clinton was like another son to them. I almost threw up!!!!!!!!

Posted by: Wild Thing at May 18, 2007 05:45 PM

LLoyd thank you and I am so glad that we have so many that know the difference in why this is so wrong.

The leaders do not most of them and that really is scary.

Posted by: Wild Thing at May 18, 2007 05:47 PM

Mark good point I wonder too where and to who that $5,000 goes to.

OMG Mark, I didn't know this....."9 Million unaccounted Social Security numbers".....good grief, Thanks for the information.

Posted by: Wild Thing at May 18, 2007 05:49 PM

razOr, I agree, I sent out a ton of emails, made a lot of phone calls this morning and yesterday too.

As a USMC brat and USAF veteran, the Alamo in San Antonio gave me goosebumps when I was there.
I felt the same way when I stood on the sacred grounds of Bull Run and Gettysburg! Our Civil War generals killed Mexicans before they met one another in battle 25 years later. I'm sick to my stomach now, & President George W. Bush is the reason this happened. My heart feels betrayed - bigtime!

Posted by: darthcrUSAderworldtour07 at May 18, 2007 11:49 PM

Darth, I am glad now that my Father and my Uncles are not alive to see this happening. All of them served our country in various branches and would be feeling like you said too.......betrayed.

Thank you Darth for all you do and have done.
