Night of The Living Dead - Doom and Gloom

Nancy Pelosi is what pathological hatred looks like. And what the heck is it with her hand like that. Nancy and Harry pulling an all-nighter, trying to come up with one good idea for their Party. - Wild Thing's comment

Democrats call for 'new direction'

Democratic Party leaders in the U.S. Congress Friday announced a "new direction," with a plan that seeks affordable healthcare and fiscal responsibility. Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., and House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., issued a release claiming the "failed Bush Republican leadership has taken America in the wrong direction."

Our new direction will advance a common agenda, seek common ground, and apply common sense in the service of the common good," said Pelosi. "We know that with a new direction, we can meet our national challenges in a way that makes our nation stronger, our economy more vibrant and our families more secure."

Among the points in the plan, Democrats said they would change the prescription drug program and invest in stem-cell research; lower gas prices through elimination of subsidies for oil companies and "restore the budget discipline of the 1990s that helped eliminate deficits and spur record economic growth."

Wild Thing's comment........

Is this the word of the day or what......"common", are they trying to speak to the common folk er ah what'z up with that any hoo?!?!?!
Why don't they just use the slogan used by many of their supporters - "Death to America".

Ronald Reagan, 1964, "A Time for Choosing":

"You and I are told we must choose between a left or right, but I suggest there is no such thing as a left or right. There is only an up or down. Up to man's age-old dream-the maximum of individual freedom consistent with order or down to the ant heap of totalitarianism. Regardless of their sincerity, their humanitarian motives, those who would sacrifice freedom for security have embarked on this downward path. Plutarch warned, "The real destroyer of the liberties of the people is he who spreads among them bounties, donations and benefits."

The Founding Fathers knew a government can't control the economy without controlling people. And they knew when a government sets out to do that, it must use force and coercion to achieve its purpose. So we have come to a time for choosing.

Like they say, when you're middle-aged, you get the face you deserve. Nighthawks is a great painting, BTW.

Love the painting, Wild Thing! Very clever!

I can't stand Pelosi. If I'm watching TV and she is on, I turn it off. Such a shrill, bitter, dryed up woman!

Hi Beth, thank you glad you like it too. I agree I truly can't stand Pelosi.
