Catholic Cardinal: Obamacare Regulation “Violates God’s Law”

Catholic Cardinal: Obamacare Regulation “Violates God’s Law”

Cardinal Sean O’Malley, the archbishop of Boston and chair of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee on Pro-Life Activities, said on Tuesday that the regulation issued by the Obama Administration under the Affordable Care Act that requires health insurance plans to cover contraceptives, sterilizations, and abortion-inducing drugs “violates God’s law.”

“The regulations that impose abortion and sterilizations, this is a violation of God’s law,” Cardinal O’Malley told

The cardinal also said that whether Americans should obey this “unjust” mandate and whether Catholic members of Congress could vote for a bill that funded its implementation were “complicated issues.”

Wild Thing's comment............

I agree and this is one of the many things that bother me a lot about this nightmare Obamacare.

That's what happens when you support piece of legislation before you know what's in it. Catholic bishops supported Obamacare until they found out how it affects them.

No Cardinal O'Malley, it is not a complicated issue. obamacare is an illegal and amoral law born and passed by a large number of amoral politicians and Supreme Court justices.

Pope Francis loves Karl Marx socialist redistribution doctrines one day then advocates pro-life issues the next. Up here 70% of Roman Catholics vote for Democrats, just as Joe Biden and Nutsy Pelosi do! They cancelled English Mass on Saturday nights for Spanish due to the shortage of priests here as well... Bottom line is Catholics vote Democratic most of the time if you tally the votes! Wouldn't it be something this November if they chose not to?
