Thin Crowd for Cleveland Campaign Rally

New York Times

Obama wrapped up a weekend of last-minute campaigning in Ohio on Sunday, addressing Democrats in an indoor arena that, in a sign of the “enthusiasm gap” that the president is working so hard to close, was little more than half full.

About 8,000 people attended the Democratic National Committee’s Moving America Forward’ rally at Cleveland State University’s Wolstein Center, a hall where the capacity is 13,000. The rafters were largely empty.

Obama was in Ohio to give a final push to Gov. Ted Strickland, who is in a tight race for re-election. Lee Fisher, the lieutenant governor and Democratic Senate candidate, also attended, and Mr. Obama gave a pitch for him as well, though he is trailing badly behind his Republican opponent.

“We’ve got to get Cleveland out to vote!” Mr. Obama said. “We’ve got to get everybody in Ohio out to vote.’’

He made a pitch for early voting: “There is early voting just a few blocks from here, so you can go right after this rally if you haven’t voted. Because if everyone who fought for change in 2008 shows up to vote in 2010, we will win this election, I’m confident that we will.’’

Wild Thing's comment........

I really can't stand obama, I wish he was not allowed to use the Presidential seal when he’s campaigning.

BWAAAAHAAAAAAHAAAAAA! Couldn't happen to a more deserving pair of buffoons!

When Obama says that they need to get everybody in Ohio to vote, he means he wants them to comb the homeless shelters, underpasses, ditches, and streets for those who don't even know there's an election and give them a bottle of cheap wine or booze is they vote for Democrats.

The difference between '08 and now the people know the truth, now. Now we got 2 years of socialism to reverse. Maybe this will be a lesson to the People to always be vigiliant.

Also it time to get of this corrupt early voting, thats the easiest time to cheat. Vote on election day or you don't vote. Its that simple.

What a stark contrast to the fawning mobs that were in attendance during the 08 Campaign.

The "Man", obviously hasn't got the message that most folks are tired heariong his voice.

Yep, the wheels aren't off yet but they are wobbling something fierce.

And it's only going to get worse for him. hehe.

Bob, that was a great way to put it and so true too.

Mark, good point and I sure hope like you said it has taught people a big lesson.

Posted by: Wild Thing at November 1, 2010 11:33 PM

Mark, I agree about the early voting too. The thing that bugs me about the early voting are all the polls and predictions. Too many people will stay home and not vote when they keep hearing that so and so is ahead and that is so dangerous and could cause a conservative that might be ahead for a time not to win.

Sean you are so right, what a huge difference. The fawning over obama was so sickening.

And your right about how obama is not listening nor gets it how the climate toward him has changed.

Anonymous, your right, and with so many out of work if they have a brain in their heads they better see the light and realize it is Republicans that are for business and obama is the destroyer.

Jim, giggle, he deserves it to get worse I agree.
