Bush like Hitler, says first Muslim in Congress Keith Ellison

Bush like Hitler, says first Muslim in Congress

America's first Muslim congressman has provoked outrage by apparently comparing President George W Bush to Adolf Hitler and hinting that he might have been responsible for the September 11 attacks.

Addressing a gathering of atheists in his home state of Minnesota, Keith Ellison, a Democrat, compared the 9/11 atrocities to the destruction of the Reichstag, the German parliament, in 1933. This was probably burned down by the Nazis in order to justify Hitler's later seizure of emergency powers.

"It's almost like the Reichstag fire, kind of reminds me of that," Mr Ellison said. "After the Reichstag was burned, they blamed the Communists for it, and it put the leader [Hitler] of that country in a position where he could basically have authority to do whatever he wanted."
To applause from his audience of 300 members of Atheists for Human Rights, Mr Ellison said he would not accuse the Bush administration of planning 9/11 because "you know, that's how they put you in the nut-ball box - dismiss you".

Vice-President Dick Cheney's stance of refusing to answer some questions from Congress was "the very definition of totalitarianism, authoritarianism and dictatorship", he added.

Mr Ellison also raised eyebrows by telling his audience: "You'll always find this Muslim standing up for your right to be atheists all you want."

A convert to Islam who was previously linked to the extremist Nation of Islam, Mr Ellison, 42, has cultivated a moderate image since being elected last November, concentrating on issues such as health and education.

He is an outspoken critic of the war in Iraq. But he angered his own anti-war supporters by voting for a budget bill that aims to end the war over the next 18 months. His followers want an immediate withdrawal of US troops from Iraq.

After his speech was reported, Mr Ellison said he accepted that Osama bin Laden was responsible for 9/11. But his demagogic comments threaten to plunge him in controversy.

Mark Drake, of the Republican party in Minnesota, said: "To compare the democratically elected leader of the United States of America to Hitler is an absolute moral outrage which trivialises the horrors of Nazi Germany."

Wild Thing's comment........

One day, my head is going to explode. When is this country, my America going to learn. The SANE people in this country are getting extremely fed up. Jesus was slow to anger, but he threw the money changers out of church. It’s getting closer, closer to the time when patriots will rise up and throw all of the malcontents out of way or another.

"Keith Ellison, a convert to Islam, has cultivated a moderate image..”

Muslim and Moderate are contradictions in terms.

IF Bush #43 was really like Der Fuhrer... his Waffen SS panzers would have 'secured' Baghdad and the Anbar Province by now! - Ein Reich, Ein Volk, Ein Bush? -- Ellison is my kind of Minnesota Arab, along with his Gopher buddy Ibrahim Hooper of CAIR! Ellison defines 'scumbag' and 'treason' - bigtime! What would have FDR & Truman done with Ellison? Lincoln would have arrested him by now.

Ellison has no clue what's going on.
Why did the Minnesotans elect this doofus?
If Bush is Hitler, then I'm the Easter Bunny!
Hitler was into wanting to make every nation part of Germany. We ARE NOT into that.
Plus, Hitler put those he did not like into concentration camps and had them killed for his own pleasure.
We do NOT do that. Gitmo is NOT a concentration camp.
Saddam was a Hitler.
We just don't like dictators who kill for their own pleasure and abuse their own people and take away their basic human rights.
Ellison ought to be thanking his lucky stars he was born in America, where he can practice his religion without fear.

Look at it this way, whose religion supported Hitler? It was Muslims (Albanians) who would capture downed Allied fliers and turn them over to the Germans during WWII. Bill Clinton thanked the Albanians for their service to Hitler by bombing the Serbs, the enemies of the Albanians and our allies in WWII.

I nearly forgot, Bob, that's right. The muslims did support Hitler by turning in the Allies.
It's positively disgusting that we have forgotten that.
They were hoping to NOT be killed by Hitler, but Hitler got rid of everyone he didn't like--Jews, Catholics, Gays, etc. If you weren't WASP, you didn't matter. You were bugs under his boot to be trampled on.
And now people want to elect Bubba's wife, the socialist?
Like they say, those who forget history are doomed to repeat it.
And History is written by those who have hanged heroes.

WTF is an Atheist for Human Rights? There seems to be no end to dingbat psycho groups in this country, especially in the Blue States. And, "a muslim standing up for your right to be atheists all you want"? I thought the quoran condemned aetheists to death. Ellison swore his oath of office on the quoran.

Does the media ever point out that the Nation of Islam is a racist organization as well as a terrorist group as well as mostly ex-felons? Do you think Ellison has given up his Nation of Islam ties? Remember the media uproar over David Duke and his KKK ties!

Thanks to decades of piss poor self serving elected leadership, a liberal media/entertainment industry and a communist academia, America is very rapidly becoming Balkanized. We have extremist groups and individuals operating and sometimes even being government supported that would not have been allowed 50 years ago. It seems that these groups are almost exclusively leftist(anti-American). Any patriotic right-wing group is condemned. Case in point; President Bush calling the Minutemen a "vigilante group".

"Mr Ellison also raised eyebrows by telling his audience: 'You'll always find this Muslim standing up for your right to be atheists all you want.'"

And the rest of the quote is "...right up to the time we 'strike off the head of the infidel' as required by the koran."

The "Bush=Hitler" people have obviously never picked up a history book; muslims were strong supporters of Hitler's "Final Solution". Still, their Bush=Hitler pronouncements serve to identify them and act as a measure of their stupidity.

Sorry, Ellison, you're not fooling this atheist. (Yes, there are conservative atheists!)

This is what is called transference of guilt...common with teenagers, liberals and psychopaths.

I hope this did not double post, I seem to have some sort'a problem with this contraption called a keyboard

Posted by: sierrahome at July 14, 2007 03:57 PM

Hmm. Let's see. Hitler murdered Jews, didn't he?

So Bush vs Islamofascists--which one is supposed to be like Hitler again?

Posted by: Trish at July 14, 2007 06:16 PM

Darth, yes Lincoln would have arrested him and had him hung I bet.

Posted by: Wild Thing at July 14, 2007 11:49 PM

Lynn, I wish he would be like that. Ellison little by little is showing the world his Islam agenda I think.

Posted by: Wild Thing at July 14, 2007 11:51 PM

Bob, thank you, your right.

Posted by: Wild Thing at July 14, 2007 11:52 PM

Tom, LOL I have no clue what an Atheist for Human Rights is. I swear there is so much out there I never heard of before.

Posted by: Wild Thing at July 14, 2007 11:53 PM

Rick, Ellison must think if he says it enough it will be true or something. That is not the case, but it is the way a lot of them seem to think.

Posted by: Wild Thing at July 14, 2007 11:55 PM

Yankeemom, I would love that and recall a ton of others too.

Posted by: Wild Thing at July 14, 2007 11:56 PM

Sierrahome I agree, he sure is trying to do that.

Posted by: Wild Thing at July 14, 2007 11:57 PM

Trish it is so crazy. I don't get how a person can get away with saying such things.
