“60 Minutes” Report on the Benghazi Terrorist Attack: “They Saw it Coming”; Amb. Chris Stevens Asked for Increased Security; Obama Sent NO Help

Benghazi was a planned, sophisticated attack by al Qaeda against a barely protected American outpost. Lara Logan reports.

“They saw it coming.”

That’s the real takeaway from this “60 Minutes” report on Benghazi that aired tonight by reporter Lara Logan. The September 11, 2012 terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi was an attack that U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and others on the ground there saw coming for months before the attack. Stevens had pled with Washington for increased security, and had reported seeing the Al-Qaeda Flag flying in the area. The attack that came was well-planned by Al-Qaeda operatives.

There is no excuse for why Barack Obama did nothing to provide greater security before the attack, or send help when the attack was underway. It is a disgrace.

Wild Thing's comment..............

No help and Obama IMO is number one responsible as well Hillary.

Carrier battle group was in the Mediterranean and an F-16 fighter wing was about 1500 miles away. KC-135 air refueling tankers about 1800 miles away. No reason weapons systems couldn't have been sent.

Did not see this 60 Minutes but it was all over local talk radio this AM. The hosts marveled that CBS would do a story like this. I have seen a few Laurie Logan stories before and usually thought of her as being pro US military.
