The Declaration of Independence In Congress, July 4, 1776



"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed, by their Creator, with certain Inalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.

Happy 4th of July everyone, especially our Military.

I celebrate it to honor the Americans who sacrificed so much to bring this nation to greatness. I celebrate July 4th to thank and celebrate the lives of each one of our Veternas, our troops serving today and our Founding Fathers.


No matter what the current state of the country is, it is good to remind ourselves what the founding fathers did to fight for freedom and to create a constitution and country based on freedom. No matter what, it should inspire us to perservere and to keep fighting for the right principles.

Never give up on freedom.

Our patriotic song, “God Bless America” was actually first written as a prayer by Irving Berlin.

It was introduced to the world on Armistice Day, 1938 in a live radio broadcast sung by Kate Smith on her radio show.

The introduction, the first stanza to “God Bless America” is now rarely heard, but Kate Smith always used it in what would become her signature song.

Here in a five minute video is that first broadcast from 1938 introducing us to “God Bless America” with scenes from the film “This is The Army” and a cameo appearance of a young Ronald Reagan:

WT whether you realized it or not, you picked three songs,sung by three artists, who have their roots in the South.

The reason I mention this, is that even today those people living in the South seem to have a better grasp of what this country should be about, and actuallly do a better job of honoring it's traditions. Watch the opening ceremonies of any NASCAR race for further proof.

This is exemplified by the reverence shown by Ray, Lee Ann and Martina, in their renditions of those beautiful songs. Also, note the shot of Martina, upon completion of her performance, she had tears in her eyes, I did too.

Hi WT, guys,
Not getting around as much as I would like. During the many years of caring for a sick wife the house and yard kinda went down hill. My grandson has been coming weekends and is here for 3 weeks, back to job corp and then probably here for several months awaiting the Navy. His girl friend LeighAnne is home from college for the summer and has been here near every day cleaning, painting, planting flowers and keeping me busy. She has brought a lot of life into the house for my son and I, they both have.

Anyway a happy fourth to everyone and God bless our troops whom allow us to be able to celebrate this day.

Thanks Eddie. LeighAnne got my son wanting a puppy. He's 35, Down Syndrome lives home with me. Years ago, before he was born we raised collies and had some smooth's, short coat and almost impossible to find online. She found a lady (she breeds and shows her dogs) with 3 pups and it looks like we will be going to LI Wed. to get a little sable female pup. Actually looking forward to it myself. At 66 hard keeping up with a 20 year old. Her and my grandson make a nice couple, neither smoke, drink or party.
