Obama Has Told People That It Would Be So Much Easier To Be The President of China

President of China? Obama's lament.

Weekly Standard

“Mr. Obama has told people that it would be so much easier to be the president of China. As one official put it, ‘No one is scrutinizing Hu Jintao’s words in Tahrir Square.’”

“Obama Seeks a Course of Pragmatism in the Middle East,” The New York Times, March 11, 2011.

Mr. Obama is right.

If you’re president of China, people around the world who are fighting for freedom don’t really expect you to help. If you’re president of China, you don’t have to put up with annoying off-year congressional elections, and then negotiate your budget with a bunch of gun-and-religion-clinging congressmen and senators. If you’re president of China, you can fund your national public radio to your heart’s content. And if you’re president of China, when you host a conference on bullying in schools, people take you seriously.

Unfortunately for him and us, Barack Obama is president of the United States. That job brings with it certain special responsibilities. It’s a tough job—maybe tougher than being president of China. But Barack Obama ran for president of the United States. Maybe he should start behaving as one.

Wild Thing's comment......

A really stupid thing for a US president to say.

Sure, it is easier to rule by fiat as an unaccountable dictator than within the pesky constraints of the rule of law. Anyone can be the “leader” if he is willing to murder enough people.

I’m sure Obama dreams of jailing, torturing and executing his critics as they do in China. Doesn’t he ever think about things before he says them? Of course, the MSM won’t so much as raise an eyebrow.

A communist dictator type like Obama would understandably be far more comfortable in a position of power in a ....communist dictatorship.

It’s all about what would be easier for Obama.

Contrast Palin’s choices with his. She has made 100 choices that have made her life less easy, but would better the country. He’d sell us all out just to make things easier for himself.

I wish we could send himi to China and get him off our soil. And then never let him back.

I suppose he could find some translators to whip up a Chinese COLB. And photo-shop some pics of mom at the Great Wall. That should do it.

Ofcourse...a tyrant always wishes he could be more of a controlling oppressive dominator, crushing any assembly of free speech, and controlling the free flow of information! China is a HORRIBLE example of freedom, and you automatically get carried away, often to never be seen again, for speaking out against oppression in China! They are sinister dictators there, and Obama seeks to replicate that situation here...ALWAYS praising their system as a model example! HE SUCKS! HE'S NO AMERICAN! GET HIM OUTTA HERE!

Mark, hahaha that is true.

Jim, heh heh yes that would.

Celebs4truth, ditto that.

The Chinese do have higher standards and remove their leaders whenever they fall below standard instead of waiting for the next election. Obama would have been gone in his first thirty days. Their problem is Government of the bureaucrats for the bureaucrats but they would never accept our failing schools.
