Monument of George Washington Concealed at Annual MLK Day Rally

FOX Nation

The monument of George Washington was concealed from the crowd during the annual King Day at the Dome rally.

The NAACP says no insult to Washington was intended - the three-sided structure that covered the front and sides of the statue was intended to display a rally graphic.

Wild Thing's comment.........

Sickening and there is NO excuse for this to be done....NONE!

Perhaps if the history of the making of this country and the founding fathers was taught in school, the true story, not the Progressives' version, people might not so casually cover up their statues, like the progressives have tried to cover up these amazing men and the genius of the Constitution they gave to us.

That's racism.

The NAACP is lying through their asses. They are practicing blatant racism. They would not have covered up a statue of Idi Amin or Willy Horton.

No insult intended? Bullshit! The NAACP hates everything that has to do with white people and especially the founders.

My suggestion: round up every last person who refers to themselves as african-American, put them in the cargo hold of tramp steamers and send them back to africa, the crap hole of earth that they so truly love. Let them celebrate kwanza in the land of their ancestors Mohesshiak and DeNarion.

In fairness, some of the militant whitey-hater types may have defaced the statue otherwise. Maybe the NAAC(CC)P was doing some damage control.

I have a few things to say about this.

This is a much larger story than is being reported as this is so emblematic and alarming of where we are as Americans in 2011.

First, this was done by the South Carolina Chapter of the NAACP at the State House in Columbia, South Carolina.

Here's a better picture of the scene there earlier this week:

This incident reminds me of the President's visit to Georgetown University early in his administration when crucifixes where draped in black prior to his visit and speech there:

This week's incident in South Carolina should come as no surprise at all. This group of people feels empowered and now licensed to do these things.

After all, and who can forget, it was the First Lady who said, "Barack knows that we are going to have to make sacrifices; we are going to have to change our conversation; we're going to have to change our traditions, our history; we're going to have to move into a different place as a nation."

Our basic precept of God and Country from our civic and social studies classes is completely alien to these people.

This is all part of this continuing rewrite of America's good and noble history by expanding this revisionists' thought and appeal to our young people led and championed by this malevolent group gathered at the White House which has come to divide us as a nation. This cannot, nor will it stand.

If these people are so offended by a statue of George Washington or a crucifix on a Catholic college campus, they should all pick up their things, leave this country and leave us Americans alone.

Well done Carlos.

I agree but why did the state allow the statue to be covered. That's public property...right?

Carlos, may I refer you back to my previous post.

NAACP is lying... GW was a big RACIST (white, you see) unlike MARTIN LUTHER KING, MARTIN LUTHER KING, MARTIN LUTHER KING (who was actually a Republican) so we needed to, uh, cover the statue for display purposes! And they wonder why fewer and fewer people respect them any more.
