Stenny Hoyer: Tea Party People Come From Unhappy Families ~ LOL Too Funny!

Hoyer: Tea Party People Come From Unhappy Families

On the eve of his demotion by voters from House Majority Leader to House Minority Whip, Rep. Steny Hoyer, D-Md., Hoyer offered this insight into the psychology of the Tea Party movement:

There are a whole lot of people in the Tea Party that I see in these polls who don’t want any compromise. My presumption is they have unhappy families. All of you have been in families: single-parent, two-parents, whatever. Multiple parent and a stepfather. The fact is life is about trying to reach accommodation with one another so we can move forward. That is certainly what democracy is about. So if we are going to move forward compromise is necessary.

So, there you have it. The Tea Party movement is not motivated by, as its members claim, record-high levels of spending and debt by the federal government and the possible economic consequences of that. It is not upset by the various federal bailouts of recent years. It is not riled up by a stagnant economy with 9.8% unemployment. No, they go to rallies because it is easier than going home apparently.

Now, Hoyer may have been making a joke. It wasn’t entirely clear from the way he said it, though, and no reporter in the room laughed.

Still, at least Hoyer recognizes that the Tea Party movement includes real people, unlike House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif. She has insisted that the movement is “astroturf” and doesn’t really exist.

Hoyer Blames Reagan and Bushes for Deficits, Says Policies Did Nothing to Grow Economy

CNSNews.com

In his last day as House Majority Leader, Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) put much of the blame for America’s growing debt on past Republican administrations, including former President Ronald Reagan.

“Ronald Reagan came in and adopted an economic program that created $1.4 trillion in deficits over the next eight years,” Hoyer said in a Capitol Hill press conference on Tuesday, where he appeared with other members of the Democratic House Leadership.

“George Bush continued those policies and added another trillion dollars to the deficit," said Hoyer. "Bill Clinton came in 1993 and we adopted a PAY-GO (pay as you go) process.”

Hoyer warned that new rules that will be adopted by the incoming Republican majority in the House of Representatives will lead to an increase in the federal deficit. (The new Congress is scheduled to be sworn-in today, Jan. 5.)

Hoyer went on to say that the policies of Ronald Reagan not only increased the deficit, but also did nothing to grow the economy and were responsible for the recent economic downturn.

Wild Thing's comment........

Insanities tumble from his lips as do acorns from oaks. A year or so ago he assured his constituents that the Tea party movement was extremely small and would have absolutely no influence on the political process.

Oh and one other thing, yo Stenny, we do not live in a democracy.

Obama and Hoyer wrote more than $3 trillion in debt in 2 years, which is more than twice what Reagan wrote in 8 years.

I wonder how Hoyer knows that my brother and I had several fights before we became teenagers. That must be what he is referencing. Hoyer just doesn't know about all of our bike expeditions, tadpole catching, movie going and other assorted events my brother and I did together. We both also ended up in Army Special Forces. We both loved and appreciated our parents.

Oops Steny! You are wrong about this Tea Partier. I also noticed that the Tea Party folks were happy and smiling at their rallies. Whereas the Dems always seem angry, glum, antagonistic and stoned.

Also, you, obama and Pelosi went on a budget busting, deficit growing spending binge that Reagan and both Bushs together couldn't begin to approach.

In other words Congressperson Hoyer, you are full of crap.

Yeah now we are going to be considered Abnormal, cause Hoyer said so, I wonder who gave him the idea the Huff/Po or NYT, because this idiot couldn't think for himself if his life depended on what decision he made.

Until this bunch of holier than thou anti-Christians Pelosi and hoyer( what the hell kind of a name is Steny anyway, who the hell named him that The wierd Uncle living in his basement, who would come up to pee in the sink when his mother had company) ...Decided that believing in the Constitution is dysfunctional. This man has nothing to offer but his innane remarks which come from the hate of this country, piss on hoyer.

Steny Hoyer is the result of decades in in-breeding in the forests and under rocks along the Chesapeake of Maryland.
