Glenn Beck Forbidden from Prayer at Kennedy Center

First Amendment Watch: Beck Forbidden from Prayer at Kennedy Center

Big Government

Technically speaking, the Kennedy Center is not Congress, but the building — a monument to the first Roman Catholic president — is federally supported.

Luckily, this story has a happy ending. But how many ordinary Americans have a microphone or a TV show with which to make bureaucratic enormities like this public?

Behold the wages, not of sin, but of the evil known as “political correctness” –

Wild Thing's comment........

Beck did what all of the rest of us should do, stand up and shout "no way". Sounded like the attorney took the route all attorneys recommend these days when confronted with any threat, "compromise". He did the right thing since there were no rules forbidding prayer and told them to stuff it.

Glenn Beck did not come THIS far, overcoming his own personal demons and vices, to have some Bureaucratic Idiots at Kennedy Center try to squelch his freedom of speech and religious rights!

How hilarious that those morons even THOUGHT they could do so!

You go, Glenn! AMERICA IS BEHIND YOU, 1000%!

.

Also see below...................... This is a true story; it happened at the University of Maryland .

They walked in tandem, each of the ninety-two students filing into the already crowded auditorium. With their rich maroon gowns flowing and the traditional caps, they looked almost as grown up as they felt.

Dads swallowed hard behind broad smiles, and Moms freely brushed away tears.

This class would NOT pray during the commencements, not by choice, but because of a recent court ruling prohibiting it.

The principal and several students were careful to stay within the guidelines allowed by the ruling. They gave inspirational and challenging speeches, but no one mentioned divine guidance and no one asked for blessings on the graduates or their families.

The speeches were nice, but they were routine until the final speech received a standing ovation.

A solitary student walked proudly to the microphone. He stood still and silent for just a moment, and then, it happened.

All 92 students, every single one of them, suddenly SNEEZED !!!!

The student on stage simply looked at the audience and said,

'GOD BLESS YOU'

And he walked off the stage...

The audience exploded into applause. This graduating class had found a unique way to invoke God's blessing on their future with or without the court's approval.

...'the free exercise there of.' Where is this wall they talk about, this wall of separation, the chief Justice spoke of in 1948.

The wall of separation of church and state, was included in a letter to the Danbury Bishops in 1803, from Thomas Jefferson. It is not in the Constitution it was merely a reasurance that they could worship as they wished. The Government would not punish the for what they believed.

How things have changed.

Only Christian worship is under attack by the PC herd. It is under attack in America and in Europe. Muslim strangeness and perversion however is allowed under the auspices of diversity. Professor Backwards has taken over the West.

Mark, things have indeed changed, demonstrably.

How far away we’ve come from the America we once knew and lived.

Here’s something most people don’t know, nor have ever seen:

It’s the program handed out at the inaugural concert, the first performance conducted at The Kennedy Center for The Performing Arts newly built on the shores of the Potomac River in Washington, D.C., in September 1971 titled “Mass”.

You can read the three page Program at the Kennedy Center web site here:

http://kennedycenter.com/about/mass_program.html

During the performance the audience participates as congregants, and the singers as celebrants, in what conductor Leonard Bernstein describes in the program as “a reaffirmation of faith”.

America, our republic, our culture, our creed, is one, has been, and remains since it nascent beginnings, one based on Judeo-Christian values and beliefs.

And these silly people who don’t allow prayers being said at the Kennedy Center, who want a Mosque built on Manhattan near Ground Zero;

these supporters of such an abomination and their nonsense are not somehow more worldly, forgiving, or enlightened (except in their esoteric mind).

And they certainly aren’t being very American.

It's all a bunch of this modern day political correctness crap they masticate and swallow every day of their sad, miserable lives !

Yes, how far we’ve come in a short 40 years from the America we once knew and lived.

The stars and stripes forever !
