Dem Rep. Anthony Weiner Rants Against Republicans on House Floor and Responses

Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY) On the 9/11 Health and Compensation Act

New York Rep. Anthony Weiner delivering a screaming rant on the House Floor as he attacked Republicans for questioning why the Democrats in control of the House insisted on a two-thirds vote to pass a bill setting up a long-term compensation fund for September 11 Emergency responders

GOP Rep. Bob Goodlatte Responds to Weiner Rant

It seems easy to say, of course, everyone should support the extension of such a long-term fund, but listen to the GOP’s Rep. Bob Goodlatte explaining why many Republicans opposed it. He points out that no such fund has been created for Katrina victims, members of the military injured or for the families of those killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, victims of the first World Trade Center bombing, victims of the USS Cole terrorist attack, or victims of the Oklahoma City Bombing. Goodlatte and many Republicans opposed the bill on the principle that the creation of special compensation funds is not the way to help the victims.

Rush explains why Weiner is trying to smear Peter King and Republicans

"The point is they know they are gonna lose their majority"

RUSH: "Anthony Weiner and his sponsors could not get enough Democrats"..."The fact is a bunch of Democrats defected on this and Weiner is out there ripping into the Republicans for having the thing fail"

Rush Limbaugh today shedding more light on what happened on the House Floor last night when Democrat Anthony Weiner went ballistic against Republicans.

Rush explained that Democrats had attached an Immigration measure to the bill providing a long-term compensation fund for 9/11 emergency responders, believing Republicans would have no choice but to support the underlying bill and thereby also passing their immigration attachment.

But it did not work. Not only did most Republicans refuse to be intimidated, some Democrats also defected and would not support the bill, which was not brought up under regular order, which would only require a simple majority vote.

Limbaugh said the important thing to note here is “the crackup” of Weiner and the Democrats. Weiner’s rant shows they know their control is slipping away. The way Weiner screamed at GOP Rep. Peter King to “sit down” shows they know they are losing their grip on power.

November 2 is coming.

Wild Thing's comment.......

The Democrats thought some House RINOs would cross over and give them cover, and when they didn’t, they got pissed. They’re frustrated because the jig is up. Republicans get shut out of the debate but then are expected to carry the Dem’s water.

Weiner's last name sure fits him.

It’s getting out that the dems attached a bunch of CRAP to this bill and THAT’S why the republicans voted it down. The repubs were ALL FOR aid to the first responders....the dems just wouldn’t pare it down to that, so, IMHO, it makes the dems look like THEY don’t care about our firefighters, cops and rescue workers. (and, they don’t).

Another democrat twit, can't keep his mouth shut when it counts and passes the blame onto someone else when the fault is his own party...but he already knows where the fault lie...

Goodlatte has a good point in that victims of other disasters don't get special compensation. Since this was a bill to help the "first responders" who are all union employees, this bill may actually be a bailout for the union since unions are responsible for the health care of their members.

Amendments and add ons. This is another reason that Congress is so crooked and has such low public confidence. They, especially Dems, have to do everything in a sneaky, dishonest manner. Glad the Repubs are beginning to stick together.

BobF., that must be a big part of what it is, thanks for pointing that out.

Tom, your right, it took me awhile to realize when they do those Amendments and add ons to bills,it really can be a monster inside even a good bill.
