Football Pros Give Support to Tim Tebow Super Bowl Ad

Several NFL football professionals have thrown their personal support behind college-football star Tim Tebow, who is featured in a controversial pro-life commercial for this Sunday’s Super Bowl, reports the Baptist Press.

Professionals from the NFL’s two conferences, the AFC and NFC, told the BP while at the Pro Bowl in South Florida that they stood with Tebow and his right to have his Christian views heard.

"I applaud him for standing up for what he believes," David Garrard, quarterback for the NFL Jacksonville Jaguars and a fellow Christian, told the BP. "More people, more athletes should do the same."
"I think Tim has every right to use every stage to tell people what he believes," said Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Heath Miller, also a Christian. "He's a football player; he can relay what he believes just as much as anyone else can."

The pro-life ad developed for the Super Bowl by Focus on the Family is entitled “Celebrate family, celebrate life." While details on the ad's content have not been released, pro-abortion feminist groups are up in arms, demanding CBS pull the ad because they object to its possible pro-life content.

The ad -- paid for by the conservative Christian group Focus on the Family -- is expected to recount the story of Pam Tebow's pregnancy in 1987 with a theme of ''Celebrate Family, Celebrate Life.'' The controversy over the ad was raised Sunday when Tebow met with reporters in Mobile, Ala., before beginning preparations for next weekend's Senior Bowl.

''I know some people won't agree with it, but I think they can at least respect that I stand up for what I believe,'' Tebow said. ''I've always been very convicted of it (his views on abortion) because that's the reason I'm here, because my mom was a very courageous woman. So any way that I could help, I would do it.''

DC Cutter told me about Tim Tebow about 4 years ago. He had dinner with him at his house in Texas. Most impressive was how impressed DC was with this young man and said he would go far and he has. He has been coming on ever since.

The commercial on the Super Bowl will certainly draw fire from the left. Abortion is their one true sacrament this sounds like a major assault.
