Tea Party Movement Poised for Strong Start in 2010

Senator Harry Reid has shown contempt for the American people and the people of Nevada. Now, "We The People" are fighting back, and the Tea Party Express (and its principal sponsor, the Our Country Deserves Better Committee) fights back with this TV ad campaign against failed Democrat Senator, Harry Reid.

Tea Party Movement Poised for Strong Start in 2010

Last year, the Tea Party movement succeeded in capturing national headlines with its boisterous anti-government protests. This year, based on what's on the calendar for the start of 2010, tea party activists and affiliated groups are looking to gain even more influence and momentum.

The first major event of the year is set for Jan. 20, when tea party activists plan a national strike marking the one-year anniversary of President Obama's inauguration.

Then former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is headlining a National Tea Party Convention from Feb. 4 to 6 in Nashville, Tenn. Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., a lawmaker who has taken part in previous tea party rallies, also is expected to speak.

"Tea Party Nation" president and convention organizer Judson Phillips told Fox News that the convention will help tea party leaders from across the nation network with each other, give attendees information and provide unity within the movement. There are 600 tickets allocated for the convention and 1,100 for the banquet with Palin.

THE ROUTE OF THE CARAVAN click HERE includes dates where they predict they will be as well.

The most ambitious of the tea party events planned is a 20-day, 42-city road trip that is scheduled to start in March -- a cross-country caravan tour called the "Tea Party Express III." Organizers are encouraging supporters to get in buses and join them at Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's hometown of Searchlight, Nev., on March 27.

The caravan then will go across the country stopping in cities like Little Rock, Ark., Springfield, Ill., Davenport, Iowa, Detroit, Erie, Pa., and Boston. The final stop is Washington, D.C., on Tax Day, April 15.

According to the Web site, organizers say they hope to "bring activism against Obama's healthcare plan as well as continued opposition against out-of-control spending, higher taxes, bailouts and the 'Cap & Trade' global warming fiasco."

The tea party movement has sparked debate among political observers about whether it can evolve into a major political force.

Just this week, many credited the tea party movement for the resignation of Jim Greer, chairman of the Republican Party of Florida whose stances clashed with the movement.

"The tea party movement has the potential to drive public opinion and electoral support in ways that are hard to fully appreciate right now. The American people are angry at both parties, and the tea party movement fills an important void that neither party currently addresses," said Democratic strategist and Fox News contributor Doug Schoen.
Republican political consultant Matthew Dowd told ABC News he thinks people are making a mistake by trying to downplay the movement, "I think Republicans definitely dismiss this at their peril. I also think Democrats, by trying to marginalize it, underestimate the anger out there."

Wild Thing's comment.......

Great article and I love how it lists dates and events coming up.

I also love how people are speaking up and a lot of those doing this have never done it before. People ARE angry and they see what Obama is pushing and know we have to fight back.

.... Thank you Richard for sending this to me.

Maybe we can turn some attention to the 2010 Texas elections. There's no doubt acorn & co. will be tying to fraud either the hair care muslim or the gun grabber into the Governor's Mansion.

Most likely they'll push sham-wow because he self identifies as "palestinian", he hates Israel, he donates to hamas run schools in the west bank and gaza, and was a member of the hamas-backed american task force for palestine.

I question all the media hype that the Tea Party is behind the resignation of Florida Republican leader Greer and others.

It was the Republican party itself who told him to step down, not any Tea Party persons.

In fact, every form of media has been running these articles expressing that it's the Tea Party causing the Republican and Democrat party members to step down.

The TEA Party can barely get organized for its own activity, let alone cause major power players in the Republican or Democrat party to do anything, especially to step down and away from their check books.

No, this is all being down by the Republican and Democrat leadership within each state. They are in a mode of loss and desperation, which clearly indicates they will implode in 2010.

They have failed as American leaders and they have sold out America. Stating that the Tea poltical Party is calling the shots is a falsehood. No ones resigns from positions of Republican and Democrat power unless they are told to do so by those within their own party.

It's the way of the corporations, the real power behind the political thrones. The Tea Party has a long and winding road to travel with many bumps ahead. The Tea Party didn't cause these people to resign. Their corporation financiers wanted them out, and out they went.

The whole problem with ACORN is, if we don't turn out to vote they win, if enough Americans turn out to vote they are meaningless. If the Tea Parties do what they intend the corrupt officials and corrupt Unions and ACORN will have little effect. Similar to New Jersey and Virginia this past year.

But the key here is OUR side Turning out. Also, I'd be willing to bet that these Union people are NOT 100% behind these corrupt ideals and vote their conscious when the time comes, not all of them of course but a good number.

Harry Reid is light skinned and has no negro dialect unless he wants to. Harry Reid has ashen gray skin and more like a funeral director dialect. Like Digger O'Dell, Harry may soon be "shoveling off"

Coming soon to Fox News! Commentaries by Sarah Palin! I bet the left is sure gonna get their panties in a bunch over that good news.

I hope Reid and a bunch of his Democrat cronies get their walking papers in November.

It is good to see the Tea Party Express is hitting some of the places it did not go last year. That will encourage even more people. It was very successful last year and I hope it is even moreso this time.

That is good news Lynn.
