Justice Alito Mouths 'not true' During Obama's Speech ~ Kudos to Justice Alito!

Justice Alito mouths 'not true'

Politico

POLITICO's Kasie Hunt, who's in the House chamber, reports that Justice Samuel Alito mouthed the words "not true" when President Barack Obama criticized the Supreme Court's campaign finance decision.

"Last week, the Supreme Court reversed a century of law to open the floodgates for special interests — including foreign corporations — to spend without limit in our elections," Obama said. "Well I don’t think American elections should be bankrolled by America’s most powerful interests, or worse, by foreign entities. They should be decided by the American people, and that’s why I’m urging Democrats and Republicans to pass a bill that helps to right this wrong."

The shot of the black-robed Supreme Court justices, stone-faced, was priceless.

Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) stood up behind the justices and clapped vigorously while Alito shook his head and quietly mouthed his discontent.

Schumer and Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md) are trying to find a way to legislate around the Supreme Court decision.

"All you have to do is read the dissent, the four justices who said this will defintely open the floodgates to big corporate special interests. Anybody who thinks that's not true is out of touch with the American political process." Van Hollen said.

Van Hollen told POLITICO he expects to unveil the package in the next 10 days to two weeks.

Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) was glad the president called out the Supreme Court.

"He [Alito] deserved to be criticized, if he didn't like it he can mouth whatever they want," Weiner said. "These Supreme Court justices sometimes forget that we live in the real world. They got a real world reminder tonight, if you make a boneheaded decision, someone's going to call you out on it."

But one conservative legal expert took sides with Alito .

“The President’s swipe at the Supreme Court was a breach of decorum, and represents the worst of Washington politics — scapegoating ‘special interest’ bogeymen for all that ails Washington in attempt to silence the diverse range of speakers in our democracy,” said Bradley A. Smith, chairman of the Center for Competitive Politics, in The Corner blog on Nationalreview.com.

Sean Hannity talking with Sarah Palin tonight about President Obama's berating of the Supreme Court during his State of the Union Address. They watched a clip of Justice Alito shaking his head and mouthing "Not true" when Obama slammed the Court's decision to allow American Corporations to have free speech rights in political campaigns.

Afterwards, Palin criticized Obama's behavior in "embarrassing the court" during the speech, and said he was not "respecting the Separation of Powers" in doing so.

Wild Thing's comment.........

This is going to get big very, very fast. Already on Drudge, Politico, and NRO within 10 minutes of completion of speech! The people will be behind Alito on this one, not the pretender in chief.

This has to be the most ignorant idiot! To chastise the SCOTUS in front of anyone, especially a national audience is unbelievable!

Besides the shots at President Bush and the Republican’s - Obama offended the military and the Justices of the Supreme Court sitting right in front of him. What an arrogant asshole - I hope he is made to regret these moves last night.

That makes 2 speeches where his audience has called him a liar....GOD Bless Joe Wilson and Justice Alito.

Here is where Obama calls for repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" Policy. Watch the reaction from the invited members of our military.

Obama has this wrong. Why should only the unions be able to give money to their candidate? All the Supreme Court did was level the playing field. What's good for the goose is good for the gander. And to chastise them on public tv! Good God! Ruth Buzzi Ginsburg looked like she was going to fall out of here seat and die right there on the floor! I'd say this will make elections more exciting!

This guy is too funny. He talks about equal protetion under the law then sites prosicution under hate crime statutes which are special protection for only certain individuals. To slam the Supreme Court like he did was an insult and breach of protocol...will he be forced to apologize? The phrase, "you lie" drew a major response from SanFran Nan...but she didn't even twitch when the POTUS insulted the Supreme Court. This would all be funny if it wasn't so seriously real.

obama's a walking, talking contradiction. First he got money from SEIU and other evil Unions, also he got money from Foreign Interest, Palestinian's, Saudi Arabia they certainly are Foreign interests.

Again he pitting the American people against each other, the evil Rich Corporations against the poor little labor unions.

Now he wants to circumvent the Constitution by bypassing the Supreme Court, writing a law to corrupt the Constitution even more.

He is a slick demagogue he panders to the prejudices of the people or what he perceives as their biases and tries to manipulate them to gain favor and more power. This overbearing son of a bitch won't dare talk to us with ideas that stimulate the intellect in an equal exchange of ideas just do as I say, your too stupid to understand the machinations of all this big government. No he just stirs the pot of hate and discontent. Then claim he is on our side.

He has just alienated the Supreme Court, bad move.

Can you imagine how hard it would be to sit there and listen to Obama deliberately lie to the nation and congress? I would bet there was quite a few folks that would have liked to stand and follow the lead of Joe Wilson.

SCOTUS specifically wrote into the ruling that foreign owned corporations couldn't spend in American elections. Obama deliberately lied about it.

The General Interest has gotten shorted in the last centy while the campaign controls have been in place.
What will corporations campagn for better educated workers, more energy, lower taxes. Little wonder Obam is dedicated to stopping it.

I refused to watch or listen to obama's self promotion last night. His manner of speaking irritates me and I just have to assume most of what he says are lies. Today I will catch the highlights like here at Theodoresworld. Just the few things that have been pointed out give me the impression that obama ticked off a lot of people. Good. He is digging a larger grave for himself as he goes along. That grave is already large enough for Reid and Pelosi.

With a ratbastard like Obama in the whitehouse it's a good thing that he has alienated the SCOTUS.

Help!!! Michaele Steel is screwing us again, I refuse to let him and his ilk disenfranchise us again.

Conservative Wake-Up Call: RINO Mark Kirk is just days away from being the Illinois Senate nominee.

I will so rejoice when I see that shithead dangling from the end of a rope and twisting in the wind.

Lynn, I agree so much.

Posted by: Wild Thing at January 28, 2010 06:20 PM

petesuj, yes, your so right, it would be funny. It is so obvious at least to those of us that are awake and see what Obama really is. Thank goodness more and more people every day are waking up.

Posted by: Wild Thing at January 28, 2010 06:27 PM

Mark, well said!!!

Posted by: Wild Thing at January 28, 2010 06:28 PM

BobF., oh my gosh I would absolutely HATE to have to sit there and not be animated at what I hear as Obama speaks. It would be pure torture.

Posted by: Wild Thing at January 28, 2010 06:29 PM

Avitar, your right, that is just what has been happening.

Posted by: Wild Thing at January 28, 2010 06:31 PM

Tom, thank you, I know exactly how you feel. He makes me sick and angry at the same time. His way of speaking drives me up the wall, the way he cuts his words short and sharp at the end and talks down to absolutely everyone. Then all the lies and attitude. GRRRRRRRRRRRR

Jack, thank you soooo much for the links and information. I agree, he just keeps messing up.

Obama has killed, and/or delayed since 1/20/09 (not a full list):

-- F-22 Raptor.
-- NGB. (=Next Generation Bomber).
-- RRW, i.e. Reliable Replacement Warhead. A new nuclear weapons systems.
-- The classic nuclear triad risks to become a dyad. (Strategic bombers risks to be killed by Obama.
-- NASA´s moon mission, and beyond to mars. (Obama´s idea: NASA should spend money on the false AGW theory.)

E.g., the Usurper in the White House, Mr. Obama, is against defense of US national security, defense, nukes, American exceptionalism, and a US advantage in rocketry, and science.

Obama is treason 24/7/365.

Impeach Obama
