"Critical Take-Home Message For American Voters" ....By Dr. Alan Bates, M D.

Critical Take-Home Message For American Voters

By Dr. Alan Bates, M D.

Ben Nelson (D-Nebraska) has saved the tyrannical Harry Reid Healthcare Overhaul bill so unwanted by most Americans including those in his own state. But alas! Ben thinks he has it figured out like so many others in Congress! He held out until he could fill the Nebraska pig trough with enough pork to guarantee reelection by the voters in his state. To secure his vote for the bill, Senator Reid granted the state of Nebraska an exemption forever for their share of state Medicaid funding!

That means American taxpayers pay Nebraska’s Medicaid tab. Nelson is just another one of the 60 self-anointed ones who are recklessly spending our nation deeper into the ravine with money we don’t have, supposedly to accomplish an objective which could be solved by the private sector at much less cost than the trillion plus taxpayer dollars which this bill will require over the next 10 years.

Yes, the voters in Nebraska may vote for Nelson during his next run since he will remind them of all the pork he has brought home to them from Washington---funded with money paid to IRS by taxpayers across the nation. By the way, where is tort reform? Or the freedom to purchase medications from Canada at half the prices charged in America? Did Congress forget?

There is a lesson which all Americans must learn before the 2010 elections and it is this: you cannot continue to have it both ways. Pork costs money, but we do not have any more money (fiat money printed by the presses of the US Treasury). Each of us must assume responsibility and hold our elected officials accountable to America---not just to our state.

You cannot keep voting the ‘bring the pork home’ guys and gals back into office unless you are willing to give your nation away to the likes of China which has the largest trade surplus of any nation while simultaneously owning huge amounts of our debt—meaning we owe China the shirts on our backs.

I cannot vote in Nebraska’s election for Senator Nelson or any other candidate running in another state besides my own. So while I am amongst the huge majority who want to replace most of Congress, the actual determinant of who is elected rests with a select population residing in the state of the incumbent. And if you poll most voters, their incumbents have a much higher approval rating than the Congress as a whole. Now do you get it?!

Lest I forget, Secretary of State Clinton just obligated you and yours to fund part of a new 100 billion dollar commitment she just made to control carbon emissions in the name of climate control (read redistribution of whatever wealth remains in America to those of other nations who are less fortunate). Cutting through the fluff, this was her attempt to bring something home from Copenhagen so Barry Soetoro would not look impotent after the conference effectively fell apart.

As we close 2009, Americans must remain vigilant, non-complacent and force our elected officials to abide by the Constitution, for these are critical times for our nation. Our nation is under assault from within by radical ideologies.

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah, to my Christian and Jewish readers respectively.

As Jack said yesterday, Congress is nothing but a bunch of two-bit whores on Heroin. Give them a fix and they will sell their soul. When they are called on it they get angry and strike out with a bag of quarters trying to hit anything and anybody.

Somebody quoted part of the Declaration of Independence yesterday, to me most important is the phrase "Consent of the Governed", thats us. It is time we REMOVE our Consent and let these Traitors know that they have failed in their obligation to us and they are finished. It is our consent that sends them to Washington to govern(not Rule... but govern)us.

It is time to withdraw our consent and take our country back. The Left makes fun of Our stating we want our country back. They know we are right because we still have a constitution, yet, for awhile, ...but obama said it in 2000, the Constitution gives the Aamerican people Rights but says nothing what the government can do to us. (His opinion, he calls these Rights, NEGATIVE RIGHTS) He says "for us" but he means to control. And with that control we give him our Rights in return for Government control of our lives from cradle to grave. This in essence is Health Care Reform. This is why it must be stopped and NOW.

The sad part is all these Senators know this, they are haggling for a bigger piece of the pie and not fighting for the Rights of the people, which is why they were sent their in the first place.

The good Dr Bates hit the nail on the head when he said we all hate Congress but keep voting our own state crooks in. Here in North Texas we have a contingent of very conservative representatives with the exception of one liberal who comes from predominently Black district. I would have to say that our reps mostly are not crooks but very moral people and they are now in the minority party.

Texas's two Senators are conservative but at times wander of the range. Both have been known to catch that RINO virus once in a while. One in particular needs to be replaced. They have been in DC too long and need to return to Texas(and not as governor).

Other parts of the country elect their congresscritters and too many of them are liberals. Liberals tend to promise the moon and do bring home chuncks of that "free" federal moola which buys local votes and keeps the cycle going.

Yes, I wish term limits would be put in place but it will never happen. In fact I believe if we had term limits we would still have basically the same brand of critters in Congress. Just a fresh group more often.

Maybe a review of the United States Constitution as we are navigating the congressional morass using our GPS systems as we cruise about might be of value. It's a big MP3 file and takes a while to download, but it would make a good gift CD for friends and family.
