Illinois Democrat Sen. Roland Burris Defends ACORN, Blames Fox News

Here is video of Fox News' Griff Jenkins confronting Illinois Democrat Sen. Roland Burris about why he voted to protect funding for ACORN the other day. Burris was one of only seven Senators to vote for ACORN.

Jenkins confronted Burris, asking him why he voted against defunding ACORN. Burris bizarrely answered, "I voted for ACORN." Jenkins said, "I know that; I want to know why." Burris would never say more than "I voted for ACORN." As he walked away, Burris said to Jenkins "you've got a problem."

Illinois Review

Politics Daily is reporting that "Sen. Roland Burris took on the director of the U.S. Census Bureau on Wednesday at a hearing over his decision to cut the bureau's ties with the Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now without a formal review or inquiry."

According to the story:

"Burris asked if news reports of "the so-called Fox sting, which ACORN now is suing over," had contributed to Groves' decision to cut ties with the group. Groves said the scandal was part of it, but added the negative feedback from his regional offices was his primary concern."

"Burris argued that Groves' move stemmed from "unfair assessments based on agendas that have nothing to do with service to the community." The senator said he knows of ACORN's work in Chicago and said the organization could have been a valuable partner in getting a full census count in African American and poor communities."

Note to our appointed senator Burris - Fox News didn't make or fund the video. They were just the first to air it.

Wild Thing's comment.........

The quintessential “deer in the headlites” look from Burris - it was priceless!.

Griff needs to be a personal trainer! Burris turns into a speed walker when he’s asked a question. LOL

Griff is great! Talk about a happy guy who loves his job. He cracks me up every time I see him confront one of these idiots.

Two Illinois U. S. Senators were among the “Sinful Seven” that voted against denying federal funds to ACORN. Senators Dick Durbin and Roland Burris voted “no” on the suspension.

.... Thank you Eden for sending this to me.

The way he's walking, his mannerism's, the pitch of his voice, his attitude. Classic Roland. He's a product of 1970's Affirmative Action...he doesn't have the brain power to pass a 5th grade math test, yet he was Comptroller. How he ever passed the Bar is beyond me...I imagine he had some "help." I was surrounded by people like him at the State of Illinois back in the late 70's, early 80's, that had been bumped into positions that were neither qualified for or deserved, all to meet the quota. I knew all too well how the quota worked because I worked for the Dept. of Personnel for awhile. It never bothered me nor did I think much about it until I personally was passed over apologetically in both cases to award a promotion to meet a quota.

I know that sounds bitter, but I never was and I'm not now. It's just the facts of how it happened, and after this many years it's easy to look back and assess how well all that worked out. Giving anyone, employee or student, an honor or promotion that they do not work for or deserve, does not help them or anyone else. It's quite the contrary. Now we have a couple generations of entitled people not understanding that you need to earn your accolades.

The NPP was a perfect example of just what is wrong with that whole idea. It was to put him in their liberal box to do their bidding (like he and his crowd have done to our society). Ironic really. And he took the bait.

The Democrats in the Senate didn't want Burris. He took a tainted appointment from a corrupt governor and if he had any honor, he would have declined the appointment until a new governor was seated. I believe Burris will do all in his power to help ACORN as he knows that's the only way he'll get elected to the Senate when the time comes.

Fortunately, Trailblazer says he's not running to keep the seat. The primary reasons behind this are his lack of support that you mentioned, Bob, and the fact that he only has $5 or so in his campaign account.

Burris is living proof that there is a token black that is dumber than Cynthia McKinney. Both have risen to the top, they're like that layer in the top of the septic tank, in the way, that layer has to be broken through before the tank can be pumped.

Not bitterness just honesty Eden.

Quotas!!! My own employment with Westinghouse back in the early '70's hinged on quotas, they were not hiring whites, my employment was due to my replacing a white technician who died in a high speed head on collision. They couldn't fill that position through quotas without a qualified technician and keep their government contract, I went aboard as a trained apprentice with prior experience, held back by both the union and Westinghouse in a 4 year program. It did make me a better technician as I emerged self reliant, ready to leave their wonderful cabal.

That Nobel Prize proves that the reward for incompetence is world wide recognition. what was that old saying:

"Over 5,000 years ago, Moses said to the children of Israel, "Pick up your shovels, mount your asses and camels, and I will lead you to the Promised Land."
Nearly 5,000 years later, Roosevelt said, "Lay down your shovels, sit on your asses, and light up a Camel; this is the Promised Land!"

Burris is a Black supporting a primarily Black, government dependent organization. Burris doesn't care how crooked it appears. It is Black. Yet only the White man can be racist. This crap is way beyond evident now. It is as noted by others the results of affirmative action. It is reverse discrimination.

It won't happen, but I am waiting for reverse reverse discrimination.
