US: American Soldier Captured in Afghanistan

Photo of US Troops in Afghanistan, this is not the soldier that is missing. There is no photo available as of this time. The news just broke about this a couple of minutes ago. And also they are being careful to protect the soldier that is missing.

Insurgents have captured an American soldier in eastern Afghanistan, the U.S. military said Thursday.

Spokeswoman Capt. Elizabeth Mathias said the soldier went missing Tuesday.
"We are using all of our resources to find him and provide for his safe return," Mathias said.

Mathias did not provide details on the soldier, the location where he was captured or the circumstances.

"We are not providing further details to protect the soldier's well-being," she said.

An Afghan police official said the soldier went missing during the day Tuesday in the Mullakheil area of eastern Paktika province. Gen. Nabi Mullakheil said there is an American base in the area.

The news broke as thousands of U.S. Marines launched a major anti-Taliban offensive in southern Afghanistan. The missing soldier was not part of that operation.

Zabiullah Mujaheed, a spokesman for the Taliban, could not confirm that the soldier was with any of their forces. A myriad of insurgent groups operate in eastern Afghanistan, and the Taliban is only one of them.

It is certainly sad. I hope everything works out in the positive for the soldier. Funny how they're stepping up their game now that we have a new, untested leader. Obamanation better do something about it. But he didn't with the two Korean girls, so why would he try to save an American soldier?

If a soldier has been captured we are most likely not going to get him back alive. That is the way it works in that war. They kill our prisoners and we get their "detainees" lawyers and cabanas in Jamaica.

Sorry, I'm in a foul mood.
American forces are and have been abiding by the 1954 Geneva Convention whereas their enemies have not. The entire world including their fellow Americans are not outraged by this behavior. The American ethos is so jaded and biased with the same attitude as that of Barack Obama:
"Look, it's an all volunteer force," Obama complained. "Nobody made these guys go to war. They had to have known and accepted the risks. Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice? It doesn't compute.." "I thought these were people who were proud to sacrifice for their Country," Obama continued. "I wasn't asking for blood, just money. With the country facing the worst financial crisis in its history, I'd have thought that the patriotic thing to do would be to try to help reduce the nation's deficit. I guess I underestimated the selfishness of some of my Fellow Americans."
A veteran is someone who, at one point in his/her life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America," for an amount of "up to and including my life."
Those forever young pictures of enemy and American soldiers are burned into every soldiers photo album, some you don't want to ever look at and can't avoid. Obama, sleep well you MF'r.

Pray for this soldier and the family, it's the only thing that can be done.

Great point, Jack my sentiments exactly. Obama and his crew of 40 thieves don't know how good they got it and it was all paid for courtesey of the US Military. And in 5 months he's almost pissed it all away.

Lynn, I agree, he is very busy right
now trying to cause trouble for the
good people of Honduras.
I bet when Obama was told about this
solider he even had to be reminded about
it since he could care less about him.

Tom, you right,(shaking my head about all
of this.

Jack, thanks for that, and I agree with you.

Mark, I wish he could be arrested and
immediately taken out of office for
the many things he has done so far.
He has gone against our Constitution
big time.

We know what these people are. When we see what may happen to him think long and hard about those politicians that condemn GITMO.
