Tea Parties Counterattack "bad guys on bad mission"

'We're gonna be in a state of socialism here if we don't stop this nonsense'

Independence Day is upon us, and the Tea Party Patriots have over 800 events planned all across the nation! From events expecting thousands of people, like Tulare, California, and Dallas, Texas, to small town parades across the nation, the Tea Party Patriots will be out in force celebrating the birth of the greatest nation on earth.

From Ketchikan, Alaska, to Fishkill, New York; from Chattanooga, Tennessee to Sioux Falls, South Dakota; from Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi to Kihei, Hawaii, and hundreds of other locations spanning every great state of this nation, we will be out in force at Fourth of July parades, tea parties, and fireworks displays. From the country fair, to mega celebrations in the cities, the Tea Party Patriots will be present.

West Palm Beach, Fla., were typical of the angst vented against recent government action.

Fort Lauderdale Tea Party protesters declare: End 'fiscal lunacy'

A hearse with a sign on the window reading "born free but taxed to death" drives past protesters lined up in front of the Federal Courthouse on Broward Blvd. This was one of many Republican-led protests against taxes, modeled after the Boston Tea Party (in spirit, anyway; there are no ships of tea to unload) demonstration against taxes keyed to the holiday. (Mike Stocker, Sun Sentinel / July 4, 2009)

Organizers estimated that the last such protest in Fort Lauderdale, held in April, drew about 5,000 people.

Initially Saturday's demonstration in Fort Lauderdale was going to be held in a park, but lack of permits shifted the rally to Broward Boulevard, in front of the federal courthouse.
Under a blazing sun, the crowd chanted, "USA.'' Some wore T-shirts with messages like "Obama: How you like him now?'' and "Send Barry back to Kenya.''
Republican Allen West, who unsuccessfully challenged Democratic U.S. Rep. Ron Klein last year, gave a speech promising to help win seats in 2010 and 2012 and put the country back on a more conservative course.
"For Fourth of July it's really remarkable that people would stand out in the heat to express their distrust of our government,'' said radio host Joyce Kaufman on WFTL, AM 850.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Many Americans from coast-to-coast turned Independence Day 2009 into a "counterattack" against what they call the high-spending, freedom-shrinking policies of President Barack Obama and members of Congress, irrespective of party affiliation.

.

Approximately 1,000 people turned out in this affluent region for an evening featuring brief speeches and hundreds of homemade signs.

.

Yesterday's event attracted participants of all ages, including Jenna Wessels, 18, of Fort Lauderdale, and her 19-year-old sister, Katie. They and their father, David Wessels, were inspired to take part in two South Florida tea parties the same day.
America needs to wake up and realize what's going on with our country," Jenna said.
"They're not going to be able to afford anything after they get taxed," added Katie. "Our generation is going to be even more in debt than they already are."

Val Anderson of Lake Worth, Fla., said he showed up to protest "the excessive, obscene government spending."
Referring to higher taxes on the way, he sported a suggestive sign reading, "Bend over, here it comes."

Jeanne Barnett, right, of Royal Palm Beach, Fla., wears gigantic ears to demonstrate that politicians of all parties "are not listening to we the people." The schoolteacher says she doesn't want children to suffer when lawmakers "spend all our money and just blow it." (WND photo / Joe Kovacs)

Tea Time in Tulare: Thousands Angered About Taxes...Valley Freedom Rally-California-15,000 attend

Another thing worth mentioning. There was a HUGE declaration of independence for people to sign. As you might imagine the line got pretty long for that.

Wild Thing's comment.......

I don't know how many turned out for this second round of Tea Parties ....the total. Some had hundreds, some thousands, and some as many as one had 35,000 at theirs and some others 15,000 and 20,000.

....Thank you Mark for sending this to me.

We had about 1,200 to 1,500 here in Omaha, Ne despite it being cold and wet,and the city decided that we did not need to have the bathrooms unlocked or electricity for our event!! It went for about 4 hours someone brought in a generator to run the pa system and we all just drank very little and held "it" until it was over then there was a caravan to the nearest bathroom that we could find. It was a lot of fun and there was just as much energy and anger for this party as the one back on 4/15/2009!!!

WOW, AWESOME PICTURES!! I needed to "see" this enthusiasm and great response to the horrendous costly tax redistribution ideas and healthcare fraud proposals coming out of DC! Thank you for posting!

Ours was great. Although the city of Omaha tried hard to shut it down by not supplying us with power (thank God for a generator) and locked all the bathrooms in the park while we all were there for 4 hours. The mayor will NOT be pleased with all the grumblings of his constinuents. We had a guy dressed up like John Hancock, Lee Terry spoke and it was just a great time. My poster made the local news, along with many others. Even the kids had a great time.

I don't know how large the Dallas Tea Party was. The local news did a good job announcing it, but I did not watch any news Sunday so I don't know what the turnout was. It was held at Southfork Ranch, locale of the Dallas tv show and the sponsors had a nice set up. The bad thing was it competed against a lot of other big July 4th events and some 100+ degree weather.

An old fact of persuasion: "Attitude follows action."

I do not know how much good the two thousand Tea Parties did in bringing up short the headlong dive into socialism. The Jackass has been the symbol of the Democrat Party since Andrew Jackson founded the party because not even the law could stop them from implementing the Indian relocation act. The Constitutiion and the Law will not stop them now either but Socialists fail when they run out of other people's money and at the rate they are going through it the Chinese are going to stop lending by fall of 2010.

The Tea Parties are, however, doing a wonderful job of bringing together the people who will have to rebuild the country.

I seriously looked for one here, there were two scheduled, both well outside my range of travel, that says mountains about the pinko's living nearby. I'll leave you all with this one thought.

There is nothing more dangerous than a man with nothing left to lose.

As I see it there is no need for all this spending, Cap and Trade, Health Care, will break our backs. This is another scheme by Politicians to ruin and run our lives. Before long they will decide who lives and who doesn't.

There are still far too many people who don't get it.

Richard, thank you so much for
sharing about yours there. That is a
great turnout.These have been so
special and like you said the feeling
of everyone has not diminished at all.

Jan, thank you, I love seeing the signs
they make they really are very creative
and the passion at all of the people
that went to all of them is very strong.

Tom, I am going to do one more post about
the Tea Parties and I will see what I can
find out about the oen there. Thank you
for the location and information.

Avitar, that is good to point that out
about bringing people together. That is
a huge thing with these tea Parties
and it let's people know they are not
the only ones feeling the same way
about what is happening.

Posted by: Wild Thing at July 6, 2009 11:41 PM

Jack, that is true thank you.

Posted by: Wild Thing at July 6, 2009 11:42 PM

Mark, I agree, I am so surprised at how
many I people I have been meeting that
have no idea what has been going on.
I tell them and they listen in shock.

it was such an honor to join in on the Tea Party on July 4th 2009 in Chattanooga, TN! while we still have the 1st amendment we better use it everyday and hit the streets with signs everyday. If those Iranians can do it so can we!
