Al Franken, Minnesota's Idea of a Statesman Asks Sotomayor About Perry Mason

Senate Judiciary Committee's confirmation hearing for Sonia Sotomayor, where new Minnesota Sen. Al Franken used his precious time and opportunity to talk with her about -- Perry Mason episodes!

Franken & Sotomayor Discuss 'Perry Mason' Episodes During Hearing

Perry Mason was a fictitious defense lawyer, whom Franken noted won all his cases except one. He asked Sotomayor to name it, and she said she couldn't.

"Didn't the White House prepare you for that," the comedian-turned-politician asked, laughter filling the hearing room.

.

Wild Thing's comment.......

The entire hearing, everyone in that room should be embarrassed at this kind of thing.

It reminds me of years ago, I don't remember who it was but someone in power in merry ole England. He was found to be some kind of weirdo, and the English people were divided as to what to do with him. Some were embarrassed but they were out numbered by those that did not care. Seeing Al Franken treating this hearing with so little regard to how important it is, a lifetime position and all, brought that whole mess in England to mind.

Franken is going to bring all he is connected with down to his level. All low class just like Michelle and Barack Obama.

I loved watching Perry Mason but to refer to it during this hearing......hello!!!

Shame on Minnesota!

Franken is a joke. His election was a fraud. He lost the election in November, then suddenly, magically boxes of votes mysteriously appear, out of thin air or certain trunks of cars where they were stashed. Nobody gave these mysterious votes a second thought, like maybe they could be fraudalent ? Nawww...democrats don't cheat...Were these votes checked to see if the persons even existed or are still alive.

These bastards make the rules up as they go along and the rest of us are suppose to go along with it.

Hopefully he embarrasses Harry and the boyz to such an extent that they shove him in a hall closet to make him go away.

Al Franken, living proof that zero is a number. Oops I forgot Burris.

Separated at birth comes to mind, Smilin' Bob Biden and Stuart Smalley, together again. Once again I refer to Gulliver's Travels for the historical facts about the gene pool in question.

Gulliver becomes a member of the horse's household, and comes to both admire and emulate the Houyhnhnms and their lifestyle, rejecting humans as merely Yahoos endowed with some semblance of reason which they only use to exacerbate and add to the vices Nature gave them. However, an Assembly of the Houyhnhnms rules that Gulliver, a Yahoo with some semblance of reason, is a danger to their civilization and he is expelled.

Mark there is no shame and where there is no shame there is no conscience or embarrassment, the ass part of the jackass party is exposed right now.

Well I guess that if Gaffe a minute Joe Biden had been in the room, he and Franken could have done an Abbott and Costello routine and really impressed the gallery.

Sad what our government has come to.

I just heard Rush on this very issue. Franken hadn't finished his question on Perry Mason and sotojerker started to answer the question. She knew the question in advance. What happened to fair and balanced hearing. This is all a sham.

And before I forget, my former Senator, one max baucus, of Montana is onboard with this. And that piece of s*** knows me.
Remember this about max, he is heir to the Sieben Ranch in Montana. It comes complete with it's own exit on I-15 north of Helena. I guess max was afraid to get his hands dirty with real dirt. In an assembly at Havre High School where my daughter was present once, max was asked why he went into politics. The answer....get ready for this one.....he didn't have naything else to do with his life. How about throw a saddle on a horse and take care of those beef cattle, shit for brains.
