Apology From That Boxer Broad? No way Jose!

Sen. Boxer Offers No Apology for Rebuking Brigadier General Who Called Her 'Ma'am'

FOX news

Aside from a briefly worded statement about a "friendly" conversation she had with an Army brigadier general after dressed him down a day earlier for calling her "ma'am," Sen. Barbara Boxer remained silent Friday in the face of growing criticism as to whether she owed an apology.

She may be a lady and a senator, but don't expect an apology from Barbara Boxer for making the distinction to an Army brigadier general this week.

"Senator Boxer spoke with General Walsh yesterday and he said he was fine with her comments at the hearing," Boxer spokesman Zachary Coile said in a statement sent Friday to FOXNews.com.

"It was a very friendly conversation and they reiterated their respect for each other and how much they look forward to working together," he said.

The controversy began when Walsh, with the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, was testifying during a hearing before Boxer's Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works and he summoned the audacity to call the California senator "ma'am."

Boxer immediately interrupted him before he could answer one of her questions.

"You know, do me a favor," a clearly agitated Boxer said. "Could you say 'senator' instead of 'ma'am?"

"Yes, ma'am," Walsh replied.

"It's just a thing, I worked so hard to get that title, so I'd appreciate it, yes, thank you," she said.

"Yes, senator," he answered.

But Walsh was following military protocol, which advises officers to use "sir" or "ma'am" when addressing anyone higher than them on the chain of command..

The Pentagon refused to jump into the fray Friday.

"The matter was between the two and we have nothing to add," Pentagon spokeswoman Eileen Lainez said in a statement to FOXNews.com
.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars supported both Boxer and Walsh and downplayed the exchange.

"The general is 100 percent correct in responding to members of Congress with 'Sir' or 'Ma'am.' The senator, on the other hand, is also correct, though probably everyone now agrees that this should have been handled differently, if at all," the group said in a statement.
"There are far more important issues facing America -- from national security to the proper care and treatment of veterans, military service member and their families -- and this difference of opinion in salutations is not one of them."

But the National Republican Senatorial Committee tried to take political advantage of the incident by collecting signatures on a petition reprimanding Boxer.

"All of our military men and women deserve more dignity than to be on the receiving end of condescension and disrespect, especially at the hands of our elected officials," the organization wrote in an e-mail.

Wild Thing's comment........

Senator is not a rank and she does not, contrary to democrat party beliefs, rule anyone. She holds a public trust as a public servant and does not rule or hold a position over anyone, even a general. These new Nazis believe that they rule rather than serve.

Sorry but WTF is this?

The Veterans of Foreign Wars supported both Boxer and Walsh and downplayed the exchange.

Wrongo!

Enough with the kissing up to the Nazi left being condesending to our military.

Look at this....The General was correct. The POS Boxer was wrong.

It says Ma'am LOL so jump in a lake B**** Boxer.

This kind of thing really ticks me off. Too many years of seeing disrespect to our military from the left. Too many things said by the left that are NOT made a big deal about because of the double standard. She should be polishing his boots and be glad he defends our country.

....Thank you Mark for sending this to me.

Comments

Of course the General is going to say he's "ok" with it. He's military so he'll salute and shut-up and he won't lower himself to Boxers level.

Think is, every US Citizen should take offense at what Boxer did. Not because it was a military person she dressed down, but because it was a Citizen she went after. Military personnel are still taxpaying American Citizens.

Nope Boxer is wrong again. Ma'am is quite acceptable. We were always suppose to address a femal officer as Yes, Ma'am or by their rank. I found out the hard way.

When I first got to LeJeune, as I was coming out of the PX, always wore Utilities, the work uniform with cover, ran right into a freshly minted BAM 2nd Leutenant I saluted and said, "Good Morning, Sir", Ooops thats all it took to set her off. As soon as I said it I knew I'd screwed up but after that it was always "Ma'am".

But Boxer supposedly worked so hard to gain the title of Senator ? I believe her husband paid good money for that seat.

We should all write letters to her and address her as Ma'am... what a friggin retard.

Okay, if someone has to tell me they are important and I should be impressed (as this implyed), I'm already done with them. There is a way to tell someone something, and that was not it. She's just plain rude and self-absorbed.

She probably spends a lot of time thinking she's God's gift to mankind. Probably that Blood Type "D" for Delusional that is coursing through her veins. I'm sure that mixing that with Obamarama I'm a Kool Guy Kool Aid has to be damaging to at least a few IQ points.

I guess the lefties really despise the military. But they hold their late term abortion advocating doctors and now, President, up in high esteem.

General Walsh's war diary entry for that day was probably WTF?

Thank you for clarifying what we knew all along. It's in the book, she needs to take her sorry ass for a long duckwalk. An old fashioned blanket party would do wonders, as it has for generations of incalcitrant soldiers, arrogant and overbearing commissioned and non commissioned officers.

Boxer has a really deep-seated inferiority complex, like in the Wizard of Oz when Toto exposes the great and powerful wizard as a fraud, Barbara Boxer has what most midgets or short people have when they have their nose in everyone's business, she uses a box (known as the Boxer Box) for height when speaking at a lectern.
Like that short guy at the bar proving to himself that he's bigger than he really is, she constantly over reacts to minor or perceived insults. She is desperate to find someone she can push around so she can show that she isn’t low man on the totem pole. Subservient and hated military personnel serve that purpose, a general is an even better target to bully, someone under order not to react that she can excoriate and get away with it, anyone else would have removed her head, handed it back and said let's try that again only less belligerently. Normal people get enough ass kickings by age 21 to know enough to get along. Meanwhile, everybody around her is just trying to get on with things that have to be done.
Barbara is on that Fantasy Island power trip where I expect her to explode anytime with a Hervé Villechaize, De Broom! De Broom! Where's Me Broom! ?

Madam Boxer is a screaming liberal who hates the military which serves all of us citizens. At the same time Madam Boxer loves political power and serves herself, not us citizens.

This kind of attitude by our elected "leaders" is going to lead to a revolution of some kind.

Jack, yes, it would be awful to even have
to work with someone like this. Constantly
having to walk on egg shells to be careful
of her ego. I bet Obama is like that too.
