Veterans Patriotic Stickers Under Fire

Vet's Patriotic Stickers Under Fire

FOX

DALLAS

Frank Larison is a disabled veteran with more than 14 years of service, including more than a year of combat duty in Vietnam.

The 58-year-old former Marine now finds himself under attack by his Dallas homeowners association for displaying seven decals on his vehicle supporting the Marine Corps.

"To me, it's being patriotic, and it shows that I served," the veteran told FOX 4.

The board says the decals are advertisements that violate HOA rules, and must be covered or removed.

Otherwise, the homeowners association for The Woodlands II on The Creek --- where Larimore has lived for eight years --- says in a letter it will tow the car at Larimore's expense. The board also threatens to fine him $50 for any future incident.

Larimore says the decals, ranging from the Marine emblem to Semper Fi slogans, aren't advertisements for anything. "You can't buy freedom," he reasoned.

Some neighbors are outraged.

"That is his identity," said neighbor Mary Castagna. "He goes to a lot of the veteran meetings, and it means a lot to him. Everyone else agrees with it; it doesn't bother anybody."
"He's in the Marines, and he's proud of it, and I don't blame him," said neighbor Paul Hardy. "If I'd gone through what he's gone through, I'd be kind of proud of it myself."

The letter from the board states you can't have any form of advertisement anywhere on your car on your property. FOX 4 cameras spotted bumper stickers for political parties, health causes, and other non-commercial interests on the property as well.

One board member said he was unaware the HOA presidents sent the letter and did not know of any issue with Larimore's vehicle.

"I will be looking into it," said board member Art Bradford. "I didn't know anything about this. I haven't seen this."

The board president was out of town and unavailable. The condo management company did not want to comment.

Wild Thing's comment..........

The board of The Woodlands II on The Creek says the decals violate the rules of the homeowners association, which deems them advertisements — even though the TV station spotted other residents' vehicles with bumper stickers for political parties, health causes and other non-commercial interests.

This man's HOA is who offends. I hope he goes after them and people see what horrible people they are to do this to a Veteran. It isn't as though they are following their own rules about stickers, THEY ONLY WANTED TO GO AFTER A VETERAN! Can there be any doubt as to the sickness, that is Liberalism? Good Grief, America. . .come to your senses!

.

....Thank you Richard for sending this to me.

I know this man personaly. He's a good citizen and I have followed him in his vehicle. There is NOTHING wrong with it.

Frank, I and others work at the Dallas VA, as volunteers. Frank does a lot in the community and this attack on him and his vehicle is unpresidented. The ENTIRE Marine community, nationwide, is up in arms. In addition, many Special Forces and Army guys are up in arms.

This is a travesty. Let me guess....the idiots who started this VOTED for Obama.

Love, Very Angry U.S. Citizen.

Didn't take long for the vermin to come out in force to resume the attacks they started well over 46 years ago. Were they wearing their "Che" tee shirts too.

This is some more of that "get in your face" ACORM bullshit that Obama sanctioned!!!

I can see it now, management will claim His vehicle is excessive when it comes to his bumper and body stickers.

Hey by the way where can I get Taillights like that ?

These gated communities are nothing more that Marxist strongholds for the modern progressives who want to wipe away all vestigages of America. Sadly, some Clinton appointed Judge will agree with them.

This is another thing against Sotojerker, she is very much against Private Property Rights.

OK. This and the flag incident happened in the Dallas/Ft Worth area. My neck o' the woods. This communist shit is not tolerated in Texas. That is why it made the news. The uproar over the wrongness of it.

This HOA, more likely one zealous member, stepped in the doo doo. They are being laughed at across the Metroplex for this incident. My guess is that there is already one resignation and rules will soon be revised. B'sides, our Steve will sic one of his Great Pyrenees on the HOA and that will be that.

The flag incident has also drawn reaction. There is a planned protest at the hospital 1 Jun. Nothing more than showing up at the front of the hospital with an American flag, ala the PGR. Wherever this damn immigrant supervisor is from, she needs to get back there damn fast, pdq, asap, sta. At least get outta my Texas. Also, the hospital administrater and public relations clerk need a short deployment to Af'stan to do volunteer work.

Again, these type of incidents are not tolerated in Texas. If/when we and Oklahoma secede, these Democrap thinking people will be deported to states that don't secede.

Don't Mess with Texas
God Bless Texas

SSgt Steve, I am so glad you know him.

The made a mistake when they went after
this Veteran. I am so glad the news
pointed out that other cars there have
stickers for all kinds of things so
this will even add to how one sided
they are behaving toward this Veteran.

Jack, yes it is and it is very unsual for
this to happen there. That is good too
because since it is unusual it will
stand out more how bad this is what
they are trying to do to this Vet.
If this was in Berkeley it would be
a normal day but in Texas this is
way over the top.

God bless this Veteran.

Tom, you nailed it and I agree 100%.
I only got to live in Dallas for 5 years,
but I could have only been there a month
and I would be able to say this.
This whole thing with this wonderful Veteran
is not the norm, in any way.
And I agree too that, is why it stands out
so much that this happened.

Texas is a huge supporter of our Veterans
and our troops and Dallas which I love so
much, well gosh that is where I got to meet
Bob Hope at SMU. So that city is embedded
on my heart forever.

Pretty soon the Veterans in this country are going to get sick and tired of these kind of attacks against them, their service, and Flag and are going to start paying some visits to these anti-American people. Vets will put up with a whole lot but when they get fed up, you're going to find out real fast your messing with the wrong people.

Anybody who wants to come after me for my Navy stickers and my flag is more than welcome......to try. They will be met by the description Orwell gave us in "1984". that being the rough men part.
