HBO New Film "Into the Storm" About Winston Churchill in World War II

HBO to Air New Film "Into the Storm" About Winston Churchill in World War II

For five years, Winston Churchill played perhaps the single most important role in thwarting the Nazis during WWII, with his intrepid leadership and rhetoric inspiring millions of Britons and other members of the free world to fight Hitler's Germany to the bitter end.

Continuing the story of Churchill told in HBO's award-winning film, "The Gathering Storm," INTO THE STORM is set against the backdrop of World War II, and offers an intimate look at the making of a nation's hero, whose prowess as a great wartime leader ultimately undermined his political career and threatened his marriage to his lifelong supporter, Clemmie.

Wild Thing's comment........

Obama should watch this, maybe he can learn a little about history. I have not seen this, it will air for the first time on May 31st. I am hoping this film will be as good as the series called " John Adams " was , because that was an amazing series.

Sounds good! Churchill is a fascinating character from history that everyone should learn about. He was the best reason the allies won the War. He knew where his heart, his mind and his duty lie and he wasn't afraid to ruffle the feathers of the upper muckety-mucks! I like him very much. I will have to see this too.

Interesting, I hope the movie is an accurate and honest depiction.
Churchill profited from the mistakes made in WWI at Galipoli, almost repeated at Dunkirk. He was the right leader for Britain at the right time in history, sadly he couldn't stop the Democratic Party's FDR from ceding Eastern Europe as war spoils for the Communists to Stalin at Yalta or Truman from reinforcing that treaty at Potsdam, Churchill was shocked at what FDR was saying. Interesting isn't it that we haven't been allowed to win a war since 1945, only allowed to spill our blood for a negotiated stalemate in favor of Communism or Fascism.

Off Topic, for anyone who missed watching the movie HBO ran with Kevin Bacon "Taking Chance" Where he takes a private home to be buried. Here is a link to view the movie on your computer.

Obama watch a movie about Sir Winston, Nah...he alrady embarrassed (us) The US of A on that one when he sent the bust of Churchill back to the British embassy. In a little more than 100 days he has pissed off our good friends Britain and Israel and managed to spend more money on junk, that won't work. He should be known as president clueless.

Sounds like a good movie. Churchill led an extraordinary life and when his country needed him he always answered the call. When the danger passed he was promptly rewarded...the people fired him. Go figure.

Lynn, I love when they do these kind of
films. I sure hope they show it as accurate
and not re-written. If they learned from
John Adams series they will know to do
that.

Jack, thanks for including the link for
"Taking Chance" for those that did not
see it.
We watched it when it aired and it was so
well done. One that stays with a person
forever.
